As Colossus watched her and then commented, Lorelai smiled, and then listened to his suggestion. "Ooh, I think I can do that," she said, her voice hinted with glee. Roses were her favorite flower, and that was a good idea. Following his instructions, she walked closer to the sculpture and kneeled in front of it. Placing her gloved hands on each side of the smooth surface of the ice, she closed her eyes and listened to what her leader said.
Taking another breath, she remembered the day she was helping Colossus tend to the roses in the garden. She remembered seeing one that was in full bloom, beautiful and red. As she remembered, her mind focused on it and all that she then saw was the rose in her mind. The petals were fresh, crisp and whole. The edges curled a bit, and the texture looked baby soft, and muchly layered. The whole bud had glittered with dew drops and the stem was an emerald green adorned with small thorns and leaves that were fully grown out with little ridges at the edges. It was a pretty sight in her head, and she breathed as she kept the vision in her head.
Her hands still lingered on the ice, keeping a firm contact on it as she just continued breathing. Slowly she could feel the ice changing and shaping beneath her hands, and she kept the vision as she waited for it to stop changing. Opening her eyes, her mouth opened as she saw that it came out almost exactly as she saw it, just ice clear and on a larger scale. It was pretty much all there, dew drops, a gist of the textures, everything. She took her hands off and sat back, smiling at how pretty she thought it was. "Cool," she said, smirking as she caught a glance at Ian coming back from warming up.

Colossus walked back over to Lorelai as she finished with the first try at the rose and placed a strong hand on her shoulder. "That is wonderful Lorelai. Sometimes we need to think on something that is close to us to focus. I have also found that the more we try and force our abilities to work, the harder it is sometimes. We put more pressure on ourselves. If you relax and take your time, you can do wonders. Now next I would like yo to try and effect the cold in the air. Its a bit chilly. I want you to close your eyes and think of a nice warm day outside. One you have had sometime before. Think of how the day looked, and how it felt on your face and skin. Then draw on your power within to make this day as nice as that. Its a bit harder, but remember, do not force it."

Ian looked at Lorelai with a proud smile at how she was mastering her power so well. Hmm... find his normal weight range and then run with it... he could do that. "Gotcha Teach, I'm on it." he said and looked at the weights. Ian looked at the weights and picked up the 200lb weights, one in each hand. No this was way too light. He could run as easily with these as he could without. Ian put them down and picked up the 300lb weights. Now this was much better. He felt the slight weight of each of the weights he held in his hand, but again, now it felt like he held nothing more than a textbook. And not the really heavy kind either.
Ian sighed and put them down before he picked up the 400lb weights and he them flexing his biceps. Now this was much better. Taking the weights, Ian began a steady jog around the lawn with the weights being held on each side.

Turning back and noting the weights he had picked up, he raised his brow. Running and carrying 800 lbs. That was a very good start. As Ian began jogging Colossus called out. "Now as your running lift the weights out to each side at shoulder height. Arms fully extended. " Colossus wanted Ian's muscles to stress and tear lightly as he ran. And then having Ian's regeneration heal th muscles. Thats what built up more strength. But he didn't want to over tax the boys system either.

Lorelai smiled up at him when he placed a hand on her shoulder. However, she raised an eyebrow slightly at his request. Make it warmer? She knew she could make the air a bit colder, but warmer? That made her unsure, and she made a partially confused face. She listened to him about how to go about it, and thought about it. A warm day, he had said. She remained kneeling on the ground as she heard weights being lifted up and put down, and then shut the sound out, clearing her mind. Making the air colder was easy enough, but she knew as well as Colossus that this took much more concentration.
The air was fine to her as it was even though it was chilly to others, but she'd try. She imagined a spring day, where the weather was sunny, and the air had a comforting warmth to it. She imagined a warm breeze that might have lightly ruffled her hair, and caressed her skin with ease. It was a warm touch, and it was nice, even for her. She breathed and concentrated on feeling the light warmth, imagining the bit of comfort it could bring to even her. She imagined that the warm breeze came with a lively scenery, that unlike the current one that was so advantageous to her, it was green and full of life.
She continued to focus on what she was imagining, wondering if there was any change in the temperature. She'd wait for someone to be the judge of that as she kept focus.

Colossus's voice carried out softly to Lorelai, he knew she was trying hard. "Your doing great, now instead of trying to change the cold, try pulling the cold into yourself. Taking the cold out of the air and into your body. Think of a point in your body. Imagine a point where you could feel the energy within you. And as the energy builds and builds within you. Hold onto it. Until you think you cannot hold any more. Then when you reach that point open your eyes and unleash that energy in a single shot. Drawing it out of you and into a tight line. " As he spoke he placed a large chunk of rock from the destroyed gate.

"Yes sir," Ian called as he brought his arms straight out to the side and out to shoulder height. Now as he ran he felt the slight strain in his muscles, but nothing he couldn't handle. Just felt like he was carrying someone and running with them. It didn't feel too bad but he was glad to finally be getting a good workout.
As he ran, Ian saw Lorelai at the corner of his eye but could not afford to watch her because he need to concentrate on his breathing and his strides. Ian looked ahead and continued running, trying to keep his arms as straight as he could.

Colossus watched with appreciation. Ian would definitly work hard. So he moved over to some more of the rubble and found a large chunkof wall with a flat surface. He lifted it up and slammed it down in place. Wiping the smooth surface off, he nodded to himself. "This will work." Then he pulled out a pair of thick work gloves. and placed the next to the solid brick surface. Ready for when Ian was done his laps. Colossus was fully ready to get Ian's body conditioned.

Lorelai listened to Colossus as he spoke quietly to her, telling her what to do next. Inhaling as she maintained concentration, working to keep the image of the warm weather in her head. With each breath she took in, she pulled the cold air into her, feeling it gather as energy in her chest. She breathed in and out, feeling herself draw the cold into her and felt it fill up her chest and then her torso. After a few minutes, she felt she had gathered enough energy that she couldn't take in any more.
Following his directions, her eyes opened and she saw a large rock that had once been part of the front gate placed a few feet in front of her. Seeing what she was supposed to do, she smirked as she reached out one hand, and exhaled. With that exhale, she released the cold energy from her hand, shooting a cool ice blue beam of what may have looked like light aimed at the rock. It came at it fast enough that it blew up the rock, breaking it into pieces as she felt the energy leave her.
She caught her breath as she looked at what she did. She blasted a rock, and she didn't know she could. "Wow," she said, looking from the fragments of the rock to her leader, and then glanced at Ian as he ran around lifting weights that looked wicked heavy.

Colossus clapped as she blasted the rock apart with the purest cold energy. She was beginning to remind him of Bobby. There was a lot of room to grow. "That was great. You are doing wonderfully. Now you have focused on two major abilities of your power. These two things I want you to practice. You now know you have the ability to control the energy. Now you need to refine it. And learn to combine those abilities. Like one mutant that came here long ago. Bobby, or as you might have heard of him. Ice-Man. He learned to use his power to freeze the very air and form it into many things,Like shields and walls. Ice spkies that he fired at targets, Even an ice slide he traveled on. So, keep working on control and shaping. And harnessing your power and focusing it. I have supplied you with three more large blocks of ice. After that, you will have to work on creating more ice from whats around." Colossus grinned and winked.

Shimmer watched anxiously from where she had walked out of the mansion. She was back in her uniform and sighed a little, she hated it, hated it with a passion, but it was her uniform. Not that any uniform she had ever known need be skin tight and show every curve and dip in her strangely tall self. Still, she needed to train apparently, and Torri knew that if she didn't there would be hell to pay for not showing.
Shaking a little still, and with her arms folded tightly across her stomach, she made her way slowly over toward the practice area. She cloded her eyes a little and kept her distance from Colossus as she spoke out. "I uh...... i'm here.......s-sir.." opening her eyes a little again she looked down to the ground. Torri hadn't even wanted to come in the first place. Since the fight the day before, she had come to see how strong and powerful Colossus was, and it scared her, alot.

He rolled his eyes when the girl that Riker liked walked up to practice. Kevin knew she was his team mate but did that mean he had to like her? "But it's cold out here and I don't like fighting and shooting rocks and things. I thought you were the art teacher too? Can you not teach me to do my powers more like you would teach the art class?" Kevin was hopefully not whining, but as he spoke he heard the nasally whimper and thought how his father used to hate that and smak his bare bottom even if it was in front of company he would pull down Kevin's pants and spank him, it was very scarring for his psyche. 'I don't even fit in here' He was starting to think.

Ian ran the last of his laps with the weights, feeling the slight strain in his arms. He ran back to the area where Colossus set up the weights and put down the two 400lb weights. He looked over and saw Colossus working with Frostbite so he decided not to interrupt them and let her finish her practice. Ian looked over and spotted Shimmer. He smiled at the girl and waved her over. "Hey dudette what's up? You gonna come over here and say hi?" Ian said to the tall timid girl. She looked deathly scared to be there and she was a sweet girl.
Ian gave her an encouraging smile and turned back to Colossus after noticing the gloves and the thick wall. "So Teach, what do I gotta do next?" he asked his team leader, pumped for a workout.

Shimmer turned and smiled a little, nervously at Ian and waved a little. He too was big like colossus, but not as big thankfully. "Hi.....Diesel..." she called over, not shifting from her spot and looking literally rooted to the ground. Replacing her arms around herself she looked around a little, feeling like she was alone on the lawn, like she was standing with no-one else with her, only looking at her.
"Um...what...what am i meant..t-to be doing.......Colossus sir." she said timidly, looking back toward him a little frightenedly, moving backward a little so there was a big distance between her and the team leader.

Colossus moved over to Ian as he returned and looked him over. "Have you ever watched TV and seen those guys who can punch through bricks and stuff without breaking their hands? Well there is a reason for that. They have been punching wood and bricks for years. And their bodies have adapted to it. Well what really happens is that when they punch those bricks, their bones and knuckles form micro fractures. That when they heal become stronger. And over the years these micro fractures build up and make their bones ten times more solid and durable. Well you have an advantage here, with your natural healing ability, your bones and muscles will regenerate much faster. So I want you to place these gloves one and take a couple shots with each hand at the stone wall here. It may hurt a bit, but we have to start somewhere. Are you alright with what I am asking?"
As he let Diesel think about what he asked he turned to Shimmer. "Shimmer, I have noticed you have been reluctant to join the team and get near us, or is it just me? I understand a lot happened yesterday. And in the fight I accidently hit you. It was not intentional, and i do apologize. I did not see you till it was to late. And after it happened, I was unable to see to you, if I had come to you Mystique would have been free to shoot everyone, and the large elephant man would have been able to trample over us all. I wasn't disregarding you, I was trying to protect everyone. I would never try and hurt you intentionally. Now if you still have issues working with me as your Leader, I will speak to Emma about letting you practice with another team, though that is not what I want. Take a moment to think about what I just said and let me know how you feel about it all." He smiled softly.
Then he turned to Kevin and shook his head. "It seems you still have an issue of practicing with the team. Listen, I am the Art teacher as well, but like I said this isn't the class room. This is team practice. Now I will not ask you again. Are you going to do as I ask for practice or not?" His brow raised as eh crossed his arms over his chest.
