"Well, so you can't figure it out even with all of this slick scientific equipment?" Haven asked sounding virtually shocked, she had heard how highly Magneto had spoken of Dr. Henry McCoy and wondered if the BEAST she saw standing before her would believe the praise. "Maybe it magi-" she stopped talking when her sworn enemy, Jumper entered the lab.
'Ughhh what is that asshole doing here?' she thought. 'I could just kill him, I wish I had just done it when he was knocked out instead of following the plan that Father had set me on.'
'Father !?!...Magneto...! Why did he want me to call him that? What was Magneto pulling on me, he was mucking with my head!' Haven sat down on her cot wrapping the blankets around herself again. She was confused and filled with hatred and frustration. She also didn't want Jumper to see her in the stupid oversized green scrub top that had been lent to her as pajamas.

Cyclops walked in, leading someone who hadn't seen the insides of the mansion for some time. Calling out "BEAST, I brought an old friend." He stepped to the side revealing his companion. His six foot plus frame had blocked Rogue from Hank's eyes as they came in and he wanted to see the reaction of the X-Men's resident geneticist as he looked up from whatever device he would invariably be staring through.
"Can you take five?" Scott asked. Then seeing the two children who had reportedly hated one another in the room he was glad he had come when he did.

"Good Morning Jumper," Hank greeted the young Paragon befor he answered Haven. "Unfortunately my equipment as not helpful as I would have liked it to be, which is another reason why I consider this to be a rather complex conundrum. I do hope as I study it more and test out the materials differently, I may find something," Dr. McCoy said with a frustrated sigh.
Why does it always seem that the ones who despise each other meet up at inconvenient times? Of course this is the consequences to working with children. Now I have no choice but to pause my work, which is unfortunate, but I will not be able to keep the peace and check on Jumper as well as mull over my work. Hank sighed and forced a small smile. "Ah yes, quite right. How have you been fair-" he was interrupted by Scott's entrance.
"Scott! How are you this morning? An old friend you say?" Hank said with a spark of interest in his eyes. When Scott stepped aside, a big smile broke out on Hank's face when for the first time in months he laid eyes on Rogue. "Oh my stars and garters! Rogue! It has been far too long! You are most certainly a sight for sore eyes," he said with big smile and crossed the room to envelop his friend in a tight hug. "I must add though, I disagree with Scott in definate. I would never call you 'old' Rogue," he said with a teasing smile.

The look alone from Haven showed Jumper that she still wanted him dead. But the fact that she didn't yell at him, or anything. While looking back to Beast as he was about to ask Jumper something. Cyclops came in. Leading another woman he didnt know into the room. Apparently she was called Rogue and knew Beast very well. With a quiet sigh Jumper moved off to the side and just watched. He reached up and ran his hand through his hair. He kept his usual smile on his lips. Jumper would never let anyone see he was bothered by anything.

Following Scott down to the Genetic Lab, only brought more and more memories. Rogue couldn't help but smile and nod, assuring herself that she was actually back. As the headmaster escorted her into the lab, she saw a white haired boy and girl off to the side. The girl was locked up in a holding cell, while the boy was probably discussing things with BEAST. Rogue held the file closer underneath her arm, remembering that she saw the boy that stood before her, within it. Each file contained a picture for that purpose.
Rogue then looked to where BEAST would have been, however her vision was blocked by Scott's tall and muscular figure. When he stepped aside, she smiled wider than she believed she would and embraced BEAST's hug with open arms. "Hey there docta," she said with a giggle during the giant bear hug. "Well ah do declare, that ah must agree with this hia docta when it comes to fully recognizing....ah am indeed, NOT old." She laughed and hugged her dear friend close to her. It was the most contact she would ever be able to have with any one, and she would embraced it as much as possible.

"No, I suppose I stand corrected." Scott smiled "Old you are not Rogue." Cyclops stood by as the two X-Men got re-acquainted and waited for word on what BEAST had been able to discern from his testing of the crater glass.

Hank gave Rogue one final squeeze and let her go patting her shoulder affectionately. "You look well my dear, very well," he said fondly before he turned to Scott who stood by patiently. Without waiting another moment, he went over to the med lab and retrieved Jumper's file. He would talk to him about that as soon as he showed Scott his notes on the fragment that he brought back from his trip yesterday.
Dr. McCoy walked back to the group and set down Jumper's file on the table before he picked up his notes and walked over to Scott. "Well Scott, it seems that this fragment has posed as a bit of a puzzle to me. These are all the developments from last night," he said to his colleague as he showed him the more organized notes that said basically the same observations he told Haven, just more eloquently put. "As you see, I have learned that the fragment is not glass, despite it's appearance. Also I learned a bit more as to the life sources, but I am still in the dark when it comes to the source of the heat and the other life forms that this fragment contains," he said in a low voice so only Scott and Rogue would be able to hear. Hank was not aware if Scott wished any of the students to know about the fragment, seeing as he doubted that Haven would have a chance to say anything and he highly doubted Aideen would be relating to anyone the find out in the woods.

"Why thank you kind sir," she replied in her southern belle tone. "You don't look too bad yourself." She didn't want to crack any jokes for at the moment, being serious was necessary. She listened to BEAST's analysis of Scott's discovery and was curious as to what the thing was and where it was found. Hearing Dr. McCoy speak in a low tone, Rogue knew the discussion was to be withheld from the students beside them.
"What is this you got here?" she whispered. She hoped it could be explained in a short time, for Emma was the next person she needed to see. Ms. Frost always liked those she sent for, to report as soon as possible. Considering the crisis they were currently in, Rogue couldn't linger much longer. Catching up with old friends would just have to wait.

Keeping his voice very low, his tone even and hushed he said "That's the 64 thousand dollar question now isn't it? The crater this chunk came off of, let me say this, huge is an understatement." He glanced back over his shoulder at Jumper and then looked to BEAST and said "What's with the boy? Why is Jumper here?"

Jumper blinked a bit as he heard Cyclops refer to him as "The Boy" And instead of addressing Jumper himself, he asked Beast, as if Jumper couldn't answer for himself. Jumper was on the edge of his emotions, just like everyone else here. But that last little act of being called that and not even being talked to direct tipped the scale for him. His mind started racing and he began brewing inside. Cyclops would never have called Ember "the girl" And Jumper was positive Cyclops would have talked to Ember personally. Hell she hardly wanted to talk to us and she was promoted to "Team Leader". Jumper was the only one on the Team that was still practicing like he was told. Jumper could not help but think that Cyclops didn't respect Jumper at all. Even when during the attack Jumper stood and fought just as hard as the others. Jumper could have no idea what Cyclops was thinking, but his mind was in overdrive and his world was crashing down on him. In that instant as all these thoughts ran through his mind, the ever present cocky Jumper smile faltered. His eyes that were already losing their spark just closed as eh took a breath. He thought to himself, Jumper your better then this, you do not need anyone's approval. But in reality he did. He wondered if his parents sending him here was th ebest idea. The only help he was getting with his powers was from beast, who was now to busy with his piece of glass and himself, practicing alone.
Jumpers hands clenched and unclenched as he looked to Cyclops. He would never disrespect any of his peers, even if they didn't seem to have any for him. So he spoke simply with a shrug. Forcing his lips back into his familiar smile as best he could. "It's not important Sir, "The Boy" was just leaving, it seems there more important things going on here rigth now." As he turned and moved to the door, his hands crossed infront of him. He was holdign his right hand with his left as to not showed he was frustrated and a bit hurt. For the first time in Jumper's life he felt insignificant, and invisable. That alone bothered him more then anything. he had worked hard, followed the rules and follwed the instructions of his Team Leader. He tried hard everyday, and always showed the most respect and kindness to everyone here. Walking faster to the door he felt he needed to get out of here before anyone saw him break down. He took one last glance back over his shoulder towards the one that turned on him and threatened to kill him. And for the briefest moment he felt he could relate to Haven and her resentment for others around her. But he turned away, he would never give her or anyone for that matter the pleasure of knowing he was bothered.

Cyclops heard the small voice of the young man coming from outside of the group of three teachers. Glancing up from the notes that were scrawled in some geometric and foreign language of chemical and mathematical equations, all of which was "Greek" to Scott, he looked behind him to see the young Paragon leaving, his arms crossed. "Jumper what is the problem!" Cyclops said. It was not a question as much as it was a demand for an explanation of his behavior.
"Is that how you act around people? Demanding attention like a child of eight? I think you can do better than that young man." Cyclops waved him back over. He took a deep breath and slowly began to explain to the young man, saying "You should always take a moment to size up a situation before acting rashly. First of all your needs are being addressed. Secondly you should not be eavesdropping and when you do decide to eavesdrop you should never let someone know you did, it's tactically unsound. And thirdly you have no idea who this person here is and so I will introduce you and you will not have a chance to make a good first impression, but you might be able to redeem yourself."
Cyclops looked to Rogue and nodded his head, the slightest hint of a smile graced his features as if to say 'your problem now'. "Jumper this is your new Team Leader. Her name is Rogue. Your team has been doing great as all reports to me have been nothing but favorable, with only a slight misstep by Katana."
He looked down at him saying "I wonder, son, if you have been pulling your own weight or if you have simply been riding the coat tails of your team-mates Ripple and Ember, coasting 'under the radar' so to speak? No matter, Rogue will find out for herself now and I will be eager to hear of you specifically. Disrespect is something I have little tolerance for so I hope this was a one time slip in your otherwise ironclad bearing."
Turning to Rogue he spoke to her saying "Rogue I would have liked to present your team members to you under ideal conditions, but the kids have been through a lot these past few days. Since he was here I'm sure Kyle wasn't feeling quite himself, but let me introduce him, your speedster Kyle Nomis otherwise known as Jumper. You have his file and I trust you can help BEAST with him now. I'll let Emma know you've arrived." He chuckled "As if she doesn't know already."
"Hank I'm heading back out to look at that, *ahem*, spot in the daylight. Keep at it with that specimen and let me know if you come to any conclusions. I'll check in with you when I get back" Scott said and walked out, leaving jumper standing before Rogue and BEAST with Haven watching on, no doubt giggling inside at the chastising Jumper had just received.

Hank sighed and shook his head as Scott scolded Jumper for eavesdropping and causing a scene. He looked down at Rogue and put his over-sized blue furry hand on her shoulder. "This is why I refuse to be a team leader," he whispered to her with a wink as he gently squeezed his friend's shoulder. Not that Hank didn't like the children, on the contrary, there were a fair few of the students that he had a rather high opinion on. He just knew that if he had to deal with them as much as a team leader would, he would lose his mind. Being the medic was enough for him.
Dr. McCoy nodded at Scott when he informed him of where he would journey. "Good Luck Scott, and let me know of any clearer observations you make of the specimen in the daylight. I will most likely be in here for the remainder of the day," he said looking back down at his notes and furrowing his brow.
When Scott left, he turned to grab Jumper's medical file and took out the sheet he made for him so he could monitor his progress with the dials. "Well Rogue, now since you are a team leader, you can keep up with Jumper's progress with the dials I implanted in him about a week ago to control his speed. I want you to ask each week on the highest dial he had set his speed on and how he felt afterwards. Also make sure to record if he has felt unusual or odd after using a higher speed. Over time I will make a chart of his progress with the speed dials," Dr. McCoy instructed Rogue in front of Jumper so both would be aware of his plan.
Hank handed Rogue the sheet and gave her another smile. "It is indeed a pleasure to have you hear again dear, despite the unfortunate conditions that forced you to come back to us in our time of need. Before I leave you to check on Jumper, do you have any question in regards to your team members? I do have a personal file on each student here and will help you in any way you need to allow things to run a bit more smoothly for you," Hank offered to his dear friend who was a breath of fresh air after the past few days of hell.

Hearing the boy speak behind her, Rogue's eyes widened. Well well, she thought. We definitely have a mouth here. She allowed the headmaster to speak his mind to the young white haired mutant. Rogue couldn't do anything but concur with Scott. Then again, much of this thinking was always rational and logical. That was why he was always captain of their missions when they were younger; responsibility and leadership where his best qualities. He then introduced the "mouth" to her. Noticing the smirk across Scott face, Rogue rolled her eyes and looked to the file she kept underneath her arm. Fabulous, she thought. Ah get to handle the "mouth" myself. Showing her ladylike composure, Rogue gave Jumper the slightest of nods. "Hello Kyle," was all she said with her thick southern accent rolling off her tongue. It was definitely going to be a long couple of months. The kids were apparently going through a tough time thanks to the Brotherhood attack. And her own students were having their own problems. Speaking of that, Rogue remembered that she needed to speak about Aideen with BEAST. Surely he was able to aid her in the proper method of handling the troubled girl.
Seeing Scott leave, Rogue gave a short laugh to his joke about the headmistress and looked back to the doctor. A sigh escaped her lips and she opened the file to read about the first student she encountered. "Great to be home," she said sarcastically. Even thought she truly did miss home, the southern belle wasn't interested in dealing with immature and hormonal teenagers. Then again it was only karma since she herself couldn't have been any better when shew as their age. She looked to Dr. McCoy and smiled again. "It is great to be back, and Ah promised Emma Ah would help in any way Ah can.... so just tell me everything Ah need tuh know." With that she flipped through her file again and paused at Aideen's. "Hey umm Hank, could you help me out with this one here?" She showed the file to the large blue man and waited for his response, forgetting the presence of the white haired girl in the room.

Jumper listened to everyone, first Cyclops correcting him, and Cyclops was right, Jumper was better then that, and Jumper knew it too. He would never had let something like that get to him. He had no idea that this new woman Rogue was hsi team leader and now he knew she would see him as nothign but trouble. Which in itself didn't bother him. Most people, adults and kids alike, always thought Jumper was trouble. And he used that to his advantage. People always underestimated him, thinking he could never commit, or amount to anything. Let them think that. It only made things better for Jumper. But he swore to himself that he would never let his emotions get the best of him in front of anyone ever again. Turning to face this new woman as Cyclops introduced him. He pulled his cocky smile to his lips and he had a bit of a renewed spark in his eyes.
Then he turned as Beast addressed his implants and the need for them to be tested. He was a little irritated that Beast did't even ask him how he was doing with them so far and how far he already pushed them. Ember had him pushing his powers during practice, and reaching level seven was very impressive, but it did cause him to be fatigued. Beast had told him that his body would need to get used to the power flowing through him when he went to higher levels. Jumper just smiled and let it be. If Beast didn't want to know how things were coming after the first week, then Jumper would just continue doing what he was doing. So as Beast finished with the instructions Jumper merely smiled and nodded in understanding.
Finally as Rogue seemed to flip through the files and then she looked to him he returned the look with his usual wide smile. And a bit confused that after all that just happened and all that Beast and Cyclops just told her, all she said was hello. And as quick as that she was on to another file without another word to Jumper. And again, after hearing of the implants and what he was supposed to do. Rogue didn't bother to ask anything about how he was doing with his powers and why he was here. But again he just listened and smiled and nodded lightly in return. "Hello Ms. Rogue" As that was the only name he was given for her. So between Beast and Rogue seemingly unconcerned at the moment about why he showed up here in the first place he just cleared his throat and addressed them lightly just to ask a question so he wouldn't interrupt whatever student they were so worried about. "Ummm, sorry to interrupt, but if that is all for now, can I go? I do not want to bother anyone else right now."

Hank looked at the boy for a moment with a raised furry brow. "Why would you go Jumper? Rogue has yet to fill out the check up sheet with you that I just instructed her to do. Surely she cannot do that with you gone. As I told her, she will be recording each week how you are doing with your speed at higher levels as times passes so I will have a full record of them and can track your symptoms," Dr. McCoy explained patiently to the boy. He must have his mind elsewhere to have not heard the instructions he just relayed to Rogue. The poor dear is going to have her hands full with this team, Hank thought as he shared a look with his dear friend.
"As for your question, why not take care of Jumper here since he seems quite impatient and has waited already for us to tend to him and then I will answer all your questions in regards to that one," he said seriously looking at Rogue hoping she would get the hint that he did not feel comfortable talking about another student's personal file in front of other students.
"Just place the check up sheet in Jumper's file when you finish Rogue. I will be over here recopying my notes for my files," Hank said as he walked over to the table with the specimen and papers of notes in complicated symbols. He had a good amount of writing ahead of him.
