Onyx continued to ramble on and on, but Heather couldn't blame him anymore at this point. She and Aideen weren't exactly friends but damn it Aideen was a hero to her. She couldn't believe how brave she was with Sabretooth and everything that happened. Everything that she did for the rest of the students... it was amazing. The water manipulator focused her attention on Veronika and then Decibal. It was really happening, they were going to LIMBO. But Heather still couldn't understand what she would be able to do there. Unless they gave her some kind of bazooka to just shoot around, she was helpless (and she wouldn't want to fire a bazooka in the first place).
Dr. McCoy spoke as well and Forge. She listened closely trying to understand all of the technical terms. She knew that in time all would make sense, however for now, the scientific jargon was not helping. Then her heart dropped when the portal to LIMBO was opened. It was just like what was described but worse. Oh my God Ian and Lorelai are in there?!!? It truly was Hell, and when the demon nearly came into the Stark Tower Heather gasped while jolting a few feet back. It was scary for any person to see, especially when they didn't know such a place existed.
Calming herself down, Heather watched Veronkia help out and make the air bubble copies. It was a cool power and Heatherwas content that her friend was able to help out in some way shape or form. Then Ironclad spoke of the groups. What am I supposed to do? she thought in frustration. How can I help? Her frustration and anger grew but it was more toward herself than the people who brought her here. She couldn't do anything in LIMBO, that was clear. Her attention went immediately to Dr.McCoy once he said they found them. "Really?" she whispered in a barely audible volume. She walked over to the port hole and looked in horror as they scene appeared before them. They were all there, K'8, Sean, Kevin, Ms. Frost, Aideen, Mr. Summers and -GASP- Lorelai on his back!! Was she ok? Of course not she has ice powers and she is surrounded by freaking fire!! "Oh my God," was all she could say at this point. She looked on to see where everyone else was. Wolverine, Nightcrawler- they were alive. Thank God, she sighed. Her team leader Shadowkat was fine... IAN. "NO!" she said out loud, not noticing or really caring at this point. He was injured and she couldn't stand to see it. Her vision began to blur, for tears were forming. But she didn't want to cry, not there and not now. It wasn't the time or place. She looked around for the rest that she could remember was missing. The new girl Sara was very badly injured. "We have to get them out of there already," she said firmly and with a hint of annoyance. She looked around for Guardian trying to see where he was. He wasn't visible through the portal. Oh man where is he? she thought with a bit of concern. She knew he was OK (even though she was very wrong) and tried to calm herself down. Her emotions were starting to overwhelm her and she couldn't stand it.
Heather looked to Dr.McCoy and she told her and Veronika to stay behind. She didn't want to, she wanted to go and try to save everyone right away. But just like she knew as well as Dr. McCoy, she couldn't help out in Hell. She sighed, holding back her tears and nodded. Looking back to the portal, Heather stood there hypnotized at the horrible scene that was being displayed in front of them. The thousands of demons that seemed to be helping K'8 and her group was an amazing sight, but still scary.

"Chill out 'squirt'. " Gina said to Aqua. "We'll do all we can, too bad you can't put that desire into this mission. But maybe Doc McCoy has something for you to do." Decibel turned to face the rest of the people in the lab and said "I think me and Dazzler need to stay together, we can really compliment each other. I can act as her power source and to keep us covered we'll need some help."
She looked around and offered some more of her tactical insight. "I don't know how many of us will be able to get there at once, if you said it'll be a yard across that won't let too many in at the same time, so we'll have to figure out an order of entry. Then too how far off the ground will this open up? I for one can't fly and not many of us can. Just some stuff to get clear in these last moments before we go- Forge? Beast? ...you guys have any details?"
She put the thoughts of Mason and his tight abs out of her mind for the moment, although he had some amazing action with his hips and the power behind them was enough to make a girl's eyes cross. She looked at each of them as the moment to go into the breach between dimensions was fast approaching.

Allison looked at the scene through the portal with a noticeably worried look on her face. She placed her hand on Onyx's arm as he spoke rapidly in German. Though her knowledge of the language was limited and she couldn't understand everything, his tone told her all she needed to know. "Gina's right. Heather darlin' we'll get them out don't worry," Ali said kindly to the young worried girl before she turned to Gina and the group.
"Me and Gina were made to be a team and this is a perfect chance to try it out," she said with a wink to Decibel. "Tony, you and Thor got the skies covered. From what I know none of the group there has that advantage. We're not there to defeat all the demons, we're there to get our own outta' there. What we need to go is get them and keep those things away enough time for us to get them in and out of there through the portals," Ali stated and looked back at the portal to see all the demons part for the group with Emma and Cyclops.
"That's weird..." she mumbled and looked closer as they walked forward. None of the demons are even trying to attack them like they are with the group on stage, she thought. "There's something strange about that. Look how the demons part for them without hesitating. That's definitely not normal," Allison said looking back at the others with searching eyes.
"Should we wait before we rush in? I don't know what happening but I know for sure that something unusual is going on if they aren't straight up attacking," she said looking at the team and her old friends for some advice or comments if she was just over analyzing things again.

Mason watched the portal and glanced at the massive amounts of demons. "Man good thing I loaded up on bullets," he said under his breath as he patted the two layers of bullets he had wrapped around his waist. Instead of studying the portal as most people in the room were doing, his eyes snapped to the tall kid Onyx. Mason narrowed his eyes and studied the kid's reaction carefully. Cyclops didn't make him a Captain for nothing, and after the last couple of years he could read reactions pretty well.
Man it might not be best to bring that kid along. He looks way too eager to get in there and we don't need any more butts to save, he thought, keeping his eyes on the kid as he listened to Dazzler and Gina. "Yea well just cause we're there to get them out don't mean where not gonna have to get rid of some of the obstacles. It's not like their gonna go down with some polite words and a promise of a cookie," he said in a blatant mocking voice.
"Hey kid," Mason called to the German kid who had a look in his eyes that reminded him a bit of Inflict, which didn't settle with him well. He went up and stood in front of him, looking at him with hard narrowed eyes. "Get you're god damn head in this," he said giving him a light smack on the back of the head. "I don't like that wild look you got looking at that place. We don't need another ass to save and Chief here might not be able to save your ass on time. If you know you're getting lost there, stay behind with the others. This ain't a god damn holy mission of self discovery. You're there to save them," Mason said pointing to the portal. "None of us should have to worry about you. So you gonna keep a straight head or not?" he challenged. Mason wasn't playing around and anyone who met him before knew it. When they were taking on a hardcore mission, he didn't take any risky chances with his crew unless he had to.
He caught Tracy's eye and a look of silent apology passed in his eyes. She didn't like it when he was this hard on people, but he did what he had to do. It wasn't gonna be easy getting them out, and they didn't need any additional problems.

Onyx needed to focus, his mind was all over the place and somehow the more he tried to focus the harder it got to control the dark energy fueling his actions. He clenched his eyes shut and took a few deep breaths; feeling his head thump with a familiar pressure behind his eyes. Migranes always followed pulling back the dark matter. But it was simply a case of getting over it and moving on; there where worse pains to be had than this, that was a certain. There where people to be rescued from the confines of hell and standing around complaining about a headache was not going to do him any good. Thoughts of getting himself in the mood for battle was of course his next insentive and a little easier on the head as it was dark thoughts that complimented the dark matter in his body.
A slight flinch came as the pretty Miss Dazzler placed a hand on his arm. Somehow her presence was enough to calm him down even if it where not to remove the constant pressure in his head. 'I need to focus, this is not the time nor place for any sort of weakness Jasper. Weakness begets mistakes. Just wait until you are clear before you do anything.' He thought with another deep breath. His hand twitching uncomfortably at the other side of his body. He was about to ask the pretty teacher for advice on what he should do in Limbo when he head -and felt- the thoughts of another student in the room. That of course was an uncalled for action and without a blink of an eye his head was turned to glare at the offending student, both fists clenched in anger and the veins in his arm showing visibly at the clenching actions he was forcing himself to do.
'Miss Allison Dazzler is still in contact. Do not do anything stupid. You don't know if this stuff is painful or not, it is solid when you act with it but on its own is a new aspect. Just stay calm Jaspis, just stay calm.' "Zhat vas uncalled for. Und i vould theenk eet unvise to do eet again, i do not vant to do somesing unfortunate." He grumbled slowly, forcing his words through clenched teeth. He had read quickly over this guys profile and knew he was invulnerable to physical harm: but that did not give him any right to give him an order like that; he was in no way any more of a superior than blondie and Onyx was not someone brought up to stand by and let other speak where it was not their time to. But again, doing something could hurt the pretty teacher, so he remained calm.
Instead, he reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out the energy bar he had gotten not long ago. Now was as good as any a time to get what he could: not that any more energy was going to do him any good. But he was not to be rude to Miss Dazzler. "Jou vont need to vorry about me een zhere, i am not ze von who vill not be in zeir comfort zone." He grumbled, not intending for the macho idiot to hear but for simple self confirmation. Slowly eating the now unwrapped bar, Jasper tried to formulate any sort of plan in his head; anything at all would be better than nothing. "I agree vith jou Miss Allison, zhat zhey should not be trusted. But i theenk zhat vaiting until zhey do iz not good. Vhen vhe get zere, vhe should play to strengths vhe 'ave. Iz zhat not true? Vhere vhe 'ave zhose who can fight vell togezer." He said to the pretty blonde lady with a shake of his floppy white blonde hair. Now all that left was to get there themselves.

Oh, no Mason-don't-he's a mess inside Tracy thought knowing more about Onyx than she let on. She could feel the twisted turmoil in the boy's heart. She stepped forward to come between them and sliding in through them she gently held onto Mason as she turned him away from the young German boy. "That wont help, really. He's not ready for that kind of thing from you Mason, he doesn't even trust himself let alone any of us, 'cept for maybe Dazzler there" she whispered to Ironclad.
She hated to let someone's inner feelings be known. It was like she was telling someone's deepest secrets sometimes, at least that's how she felt about it. She had such a responsibility to maintain trust. It was hard enough to block things out and keep what she knew inside all at the same time, without the burden of interfering too. It was why she tried so hard to close herself off.
When she was younger and her powers were far less controlled she would feel her own emotions along with the emotions of others and they would swirl together and sometimes make her nauseous. She had learned to set herself and her own feelings aside. She was always on call it seemed, her power to heal being needed so much with all of the hatred towards mutants and the physical harms that that hatred would foster on so many of the mutants of the world. She was constantly traveling to help and never having time to 'just be' was a difficult thing for a young girl to have to face, so she did the only thing she could do and tried to detach herself from her own emotions as best she could.
It made her seem cold, she was sure, to a lot of people. Some might mistake it for snootiness, others for ignorance, but it was her own way of protecting herself while at the same time giving of herself all that she could. She would never say "no" to anyone who needed her help. It simply was not in her nature. Unselfish and giving to the point of collapse. Many was the time she would push herself beyond exhaustion to heal those wounded in combat or from acts of terrorism, it made her stronger. It made her self-sacrifice worth it. "I'll let you know if he starts to lose it alright? Please, this is going to be rough on all of us, we need to work together and you have to be the leader Cyclops knew you would become one day. That day is today Mason, I know you can. Lead by example not by fear, we're Corsairs, we do it right.' She slipped a hand into his and squeezed hold as she smiled sweetly "O.K.?"

Though in all honest senses, Veronika could care less about half the people that were in Limbo, but that still didn't stop her eyes from widening when she saw the situation they were in. Oh my, I see that this is more serious than I thought. Better them than me, but still I do have some sympathy for them. They might get heat poisoning in that hot place. There may not be peace until they get back, so I might as well say I hope they make it. Veronika looked over at her friend Heather with sympathy at her reaction. "It will be alright Heather, do not worry. They'll be back before you know it," she said in a soothing voice to calm her only friend in the school as of now.
Her periwinkle blue eyes snapped to the big man called Ironclad with the defined physique as he actually went up to Onyx and hit him in the back of the head, telling him to calm down in such a firm tone of voice. Why would he bother Onyx like that? I'm sure he is a boy with a good deal of control. She held back a smirk when HeartString came up between them and brought Ironclad under her little spell. Now that is how a woman handles a man. I wonder if they are together? I don't need to be as brilliant as I am to feel the chemistry there. She placed her hand comfortingly on Heather's arm as they all discussed what they would do in Limbo.

Mato had been silently watching the scenes before him, taking in the whole situation and watching with observing eyes as the portal was revealed. It was something out of the story that the elders told back in his village. The Underworld full of revolting creatures that worked under the command of one Supreme Creature with Mystical powers the ruled the realm. Mato had looked over at Ironclad, an obvious leader in this whole mission. Of course, anyone with the spirit of a cheetah is bound to be taken a lead. They do well in both roles, he thought as he nodded his consent to Ironclad's statement to stay with him.
As he was checking his herbs and tools for healing, just to make sure he had enough for a spiritual healing, he heard Ironclad again go up to Onyx and demand the young man to get himself together. Mato looked down at the mongoose by the young man's feet that looked extremely agitated. He shook his head and went to encase the healing plants in what looked like a wooden rattle. He filled it halfway with water from a buffalo skin pouch that he had blessed before his trip. Mato needed to prepare this now for he knew he would not have time to do it properly.
HeartString and her doe has come up to Ironclad and was obviously talking him down. Mato found it amazing whenever he saw two spirits touch one another. Though everyone had a different animal, they all somehow were able to touch one another. That was the case as he saw the doe sooth the anxious and commanding cheetah. It was quite a sight.
For the first time, Mato's voice spoke out in the moment of silence. "If it will help, I'll stay nearby. With everyone's spirits so high, it will be easy for me to keep them from going rogue in the Underworld. The only problem will be to get close enough," he said and looked over at the Avengers. "If I may, is there perhaps a bow and arrow or a spear in the vicinity that I may use on this mission? I would be very grateful for the use of it," Mato said in a tone of respect to the great warriors that aided the group in their time of need.

Heather ignored Decibal's comments to her. She was an emotional person (obviously) and couldn't help but reveal her feelings even during the worst times. They usually got the best of her and she needed to learn how to control that. Now that she actually saw her friends in LIMBO, especially Ian and Lorelai, Heather felt even worse.
She looked to Ironclad as he hit Onyx in the head. She couldn't help but feel bad for the German as he was truly afraid of Aideen's safety. Like Heather, he had no problem showing his emotion. Feeling the comfort of Veronika, Heather smiled softly and nodded. "I hope you are right," she whispered. For the rest of the time, the New Mutant stood there, nervous as heck and waited for the mission to commence. She wanted the team to go and save them already, however she understood that patience was a virtue.... unfortunately.

Mason was ready to scoff at the kid that threatened him if he tried it again. He knew that no matter what the kid could do, it wouldn't harm him or even hurt him. Though despite all that Tracy was the one to weaken him with those big beautiful baby blues and that pure caring look that could probably get him to do anything. Mason looked down at her with a softening look and gripped her hand. This girl is gonna be the death of me. My head's gonna explode just me trying to keep my cool around her, he thought as his eyes dropped to her lips for a brief moment before he collected himself and realized she was an empath. Shit! This just doesn't get any easier, Mason said cursing himself for not watching his actions. He squeezed her hand back and place his lips on her forehead, resting them for a minute.
"You're right doll, you're right. I'm not used to being on a mission without him and people that ain't used to me," he said against her forehead, thinking back to the talk Cyclops had with him when he was named Team Captain. He said that Mason had a natural ability to lead and had a good head and enough heart to be a great Leader. He also told him more than once that there would be a day where he had to lead in hard times. Maybe this was the day, but he had some good help in that area. Either way, Tracy was right. He needed to get them there and out and he needed to collaborate with the others who know what this dimension is all about.
Mason let go of Tracy's hand and shook off the reminiscing feeling as he looked at the portal. "Ok everyone no more waiting around. Looks like its about to get ugly in there and I wanna get out before it goes completely to shit," he said looking over at TrueSpirit, who's commanding quiet voice was the type that anyone would stop and listen to. "Chief, if you need to get close enough, just let me know. If we got that communicator stuff in tact just let me know. I only got guns on me, but I know there is a weapon's room somewhere around here," Mason said to his new teammate, avoiding Tracy's eye at all costs since he slipped for the second time.
He looked right at Dazzler, getting his head back in the mission and solely concentrating on that. "Daz, you mind taking the kid with you? I think he's better near you anyways," Mason said not revealing anything that Tracey told him just sticking to his observations. It wasn't hard to guess that the kid was attached to her. Might be cause she's hot, or that she's super cool, didn't matter as long as she got him under control.

Hearing the young and very handsome man they called Ironclad speak about weapons Shannon stepped over to him. Looking him up and down she noted he was strapped with plenty of killing implements. 'You thinking of taking more guns with you?" she asked him. She remembered where the weapons storage was according to the history files of Stark tower when it had been used as the headquarters of the Avengers and she hoped it was accurate. She had not had occasion to look for it since arriving here though, so she couldn't be certain her knowledge was correct.
"I could take you two boys there if you need to go, but you look pretty well equipped to me." she said looking at TrueSpirit and then at Ironclad again. She was a bit older than him but her eyes did linger as she looked him up and down seeing how his uniform fit him. "I think I remember where it is." she smiled at them and met their young lady friends eyes with a nod. The girl had seemed nice when they had spoken before, if a bit distant.

Hank shook his head at the two of the young men and went over to position the portal at a good area. 'It will be quite some time before Onyx will be used to the way Ironclad behaves. Though he may be rough around the edges he is a true Corsair through and through. Though I could do well without the constant fights in the hallways and in class between him and Inflict. Surprisingly it does get tiring after almost a decade,' he thought as he watched the fight break out, with Ember's extremely impressive performance and her along with the rest of them struggling for their lives. Then a woman in dressed riding on a demon like royalty came flying down toward Belaso. "Well... this is certainly an interesting development," he muttered.
"In this case, I apologize for cutting your plans short, but it appears now is our que to enter. Get your weapons TrueSpirit. Forge, activate the forcefield. I believe I positioned it just right," Dr.McCoy said as he left the opening of the portal on top of the wall of the castle.
"Everyone, get your communicators on. I tested them out and they seem to be working just fine," he said as he tossed the communicators out to the group, except for Iron Man since he had a built in one. "They're already turned on so slide it on your ear, like a Bluetooth," Hank explained as he went to boot up the main system and place it on speaker so he could have clear communication.
"Forge, let's start it up," he requested.

"Make it quick DREAM, this is why you're here right? Get to the weapons room and back fast, this portal is on the verge of being opened." Ironman said sending the star spangled sentinel of justice out with her charge.
"Beast! What is this convergence of these two signals all about?" Tony said as he stepped closer to look at the readings on the scope. "I thought you said this was blood from one of the students in there, not two!?!"

Mato smiled gratefully at the woman and took off his deerskin coat, leaving his utlity belt on with all the herbs he needed for any type of soul cleansing spell. "Thank You very much Miss," he said with a respectful bow, also one to Iron Man. Mato spied all the spirit animals in high spirits as he was careful not to step to close to American Dream's ram. His own large grizzly bear stood next to him, looking very eager as well.
Soon I will show him to the others. Best not now to alarm them, he thought as he went to follow American Dream and Ironclad. "Are there perhaps a set of bow and arrows I may use? I will replace it if need be," Mato asked American Dream.

She led him out of the Lab and down the hallway. She hadn't been here all that long herself, having just arrived shortly after the phone call from Beast had set Tony Stark to canceling plans. It was just one more wrinkle in the evening for Iron Man, but her story had a certain air of credibility.
After a quick test of the shield she bore Tony knew she was who she claimed to be, and even if she wasn't he was in no mood right now to play games. It would have been her funeral if she had been lying about the reason she was here now and what a coincidence it would have been on top of that. Intrigued to say the least, Tony had allowed her to stay and await the arrival of the team she claimed to know, some more intimately than others.
"I think this is the place." she said over her shoulder as she pushed in the release code for the weapons locker. ~FWAAPPT~ the console squawked at them. "Heh, uh I guess that's not the code." she said with a note of embarrassment in her voice. "Maybe this one." she keyed in the universal code for the team, she figured it was bound to have been implemented in the days of Iron man and Captain America, so it had to work. ~BLEE-ort~ the door panel sounded and they both watched wide eyed as the door slid sideways 'Star Trek' style.
Inside the room on the other side of the door was, to American Dream at least, the likes of an historic treasure trove. "WOOooow! Look at all of this gear. Amazing, huh?" she said stepping into the room first and staring at all of the battle gear and equipment adorning the walls. "Lets see, where would my old Sensai's equipment be..." she said absent mindedly a she walked TrueSpirit further into the weapons storage room.
"Mato," she said turning to look him in his face fully as the reached the area where Clint Barton's weapons hung on the wall. They were not his favorite set, but they were certainly his. She knew them at a glance, and by the way they were worn in spots they must have been his back up set of bow and arrows. "this is going to sound strange, but I don't know when I'll have another chance to - well..."
She reached up to his face taking him by both cheeks and kissed him. It was a strange kiss and the Native American knew it in an instant. He knew it was not the first time she had kissed him. It was however the first time he had ever kissed her. "It will all be clear to you one day, and I'm sorry for this. I know it breaks all the rules, but if what I think is going to happen will...well, I wanted to say goodbye to you with the passion you always said I bottled up. I came back for you, and to stop her, and for a man I think the world of. Now, let's see..."
She turned and took the bow down from the wall. Turning back she handed it to him with a reverence she seldom showed. "This was my teachers bow, he taught me many things. Rule number 1: take good care of your equipment, so if you break this I'll have your ass." Turning back she grabbed the quiver of arrows and pulled them out in a cluster. "Okay look. There are a lot of arrows here, they have all got different functions, pay attention ..." she took some time explaining each arrow and what they did. In the time she spent she found herself getting ever closer to the younger self of the man she loved. He was only a kid now, but he had they same spirit, that much was indomitable. He even smelled the same.
