It had been a difficult thing to find the time to write when she and Ian would sneak off at all times of the day and night to have their times together. It wasn't just a sexual thing that the two of them had. As silly as Diesel could be at times, when he was alone with her he shone like a star.
His heart had such purity and his mind was keen and sharp. They would talk and play games and snuggle and tickle each other. They went for long walks in the woods, chased each other through the hedge maze even cooked little snacks for each other and spent hours not doing homework in the library. They played footsie under the table instead as they played paper football with a triangular folded 'football' that Ian made for the event.
It had started out small but they had actually started a trend with all the cool kids wanting to play and each of them having made their own folded paper footballs complete with team logos on them. It was amazing she had come up with anything let alone the stirring romp she'd come up with. "The Chase" she offered the title as she stood up.
Choosing to leave her poem to speak for itself, Niki simply sat down with a half smile forming on her face. She liked it and thought it a fun kind of way to explain the rains, maybe like it might have even been a myth of some kind once. She glanced over at TrueSpirit with a nod of thanks. His time spent talking to her had opened her up to other things, no longer was she so penned in by her own rage and need for dominance.
She would let things go a little bit more, her life was for her to enjoy....not to worry all the time about her friends. Yet even as she thought it her eyes looked for Aideen. Seeing her there she gaged how her room mate was feeling. Niki's smile widened as she could tell her girl was unphased.

Stag, brave and noble
antlers sixteen points or more
long lived protector
forest royalty for sure
Hunted for years now
lifelong rivals Stag and Wolf
packless and bitter
mighty timberline hunter
Lone Ronin stalking
Wolf's eternal dark blood quest
hunger long replaced
Spirit-pride now fuels the chase
Cool flowing water
in the thick of brambles twined
on rocky outcrop perches
hunter muscles set to pounce
Ear doth twitch as sound
gives clue that anxious hunter
has again found prey
and with breath quick turn and run
Stag leaping into
mist covered hillside and up
lightning from hoof-fall
thunder from Wolf's growl erupts
Ever on do they
chase to this very day still
as the mist cries down
down from mountain tops of sky.
