Pulling the Jeep into the parking lot, Piotr looked back at the students and smiled at them. "Now you all behave yourselves. Remember this town is not trustful of mutants and Emma can only mind wipe them so many times. Ian, keep your cell phone on and please call me if there is any trouble. We will call you when we are on our way home," he said to his three Acolytes and the New Mutant. He knew that they were all responsible, but at the same time left to their own devices they were known to cause trouble.
"Now you all have enough money yes? Very good, and have fun!" Piotr said pleasantly and waited for all of them to get out of the car. He placed his hand on Kitty's leg warmly and squeezed it. "I hope this does not turn into another incident like from last month," he said to her referring to the fight at the diner that occurred last time they took some of the kids to the town. Emma had to mindwipe a fair few people and those individuels were given a week long punishment they would never forget.
Pitor waited until the students were inside the arcade before he drove off with Kitty. They had their own plans after a crazy week and he promised her a night out like this for weeks now, something always coming up. It was either a problem student, work being handed in late, a meeting with the X-Men or one of them got stuck with baby sitting the mansion because others had plans. Now though, it would be just him and Kitty alone. A relaxing atmosphere filled the jeep as they drove off, leaving their students to have an evening of their own.

"See you guys later and thanks for the ride Pete!" Gavin yelled after them before they went inside the arcade. It was pretty crowded and kind of warm, but he couldn't risk taking his hoodie off for fear of exposing his wings that he kept carefully hidden under his clothes. He didn't like to do that, but he knew it was for his own safety. At least at the school he could walk around freely with his wings loose instead of tucked under his clothes. "Oh man I'm starving. I thought you'd never finish up Niki," Gavin said shaking his shaggy hair out of his face as he slid into one of the free booths.
The arcade wasn't exactly a five star place, but it had good greasy burgers that Gavin and Ian went nuts for and the best desserts ever. The arcade was pretty cool though, it had a bunch of games and they always had a blast here. Gavin loved the shooting games, rocking at Resident Evil and House of the Dead, but the others were fun too. Only thing he sucked at was DDR, feeling like an idiot every time he tried it.
"Man I'm starved. I'm thinking I'll get the triple decker bacon double cheeseburger and some onion rings," he said looking at the menu that was used as a mat on the table. The waitress would be by soon and from the way he was feeling, he was glad he brought extra cash with him. "Who's up for milkshakes?" he asked looking up at all of them at the table, winking at Heather.

"Oh hell yea this place makes those creamy milkshakes that are HUGE. I'm gettin' the chocolate one again," Ian said excitedly and looked over at Niki with a grin. "If your real nice to me babe, I might share with ya," he said teasingly and kissed the tip of her nose playfully. He was cracking up when Niki told him the story of why she was a bit late for their date, and he was all the more happier to forgive her. Ian felt really good after punching him with his fist right in the face, even though it felt little more than a light punch to him. His own reflexes had gotten quicker under Colossus' training and there was no way that Jumpdick could have dialed up in time. The guy had been gone for a long time and a lot had changed since, including Diesel's own strength and wielding of his power. Ian had three months of intensive training more than him and he knew it would be awhile before that guy was even considered a match for him.
He put an arm around Niki and brought her close, looking down at the menu. "Imma get two of those triple deck bacon double cheeseburgers. I'm a growing man boy ya know," Ian said winking at Niki and Heather and then laughing. "That and I'm totally starving. Oh if your getting onion rings, I want the buffalo wings. They make 'em extra spicy here. And I don't know, maybe some fires too?" He contemplated out loud while rubbing Niki's shoulder, keeping her a bit warm from the high air conditioned place.
It took several more minutes before he made his final decision. "Alright, I'm good. What are you two chicks gettin' so I can call the waitress. I'm starved!" Ian said and took a long drink from the water the waitress brought over when they sat down. He was just chilling out now and happy to be away from the school.

"Wait, what? I can share? Wow that is so sweet of yoooou." she rubbed Ian's tummy. Looking over at Gavin she said "Yeah, I mighta held us up a little sure, but it was your 'girlfriend' here that had to run back up three times to change and then came back in the first thing she had on anyway...so I don't wanna hear it Gav." Niki made a face at him snarling up her nose playfully and sticking her tongue out half behind her teeth. "Yes, I believe I know what I would like, but wait...I haven't seen the wine list."
Niki giggled as she nuzzled into Ian. "Ok, Milkshake for me too, you twisted my arm ....and I want ....a couple of hot dogs....hmmmm" she considered for a moment, placing a finger to her lips. "No, make them chili-cheese dogs. Oh, and hold the onions! Right baby?" she grinned at Ian as she hated having onion breath. She didn't really mind if Ian had onion breath, well not so much at least. She was a real forgiving chick to Ian when it came to dumb shit like that. She'd kiss him anyway any kiss would do...just don't NOT kiss her. She'd been through some sad lonely times and was finally happy to have a guy who got her.
"Oh yeah and this time two on two air-hockey. No more waitin around to play winner Gavin." Niki giggled at him, remembering last time when she and Ian got into a groove and played almost a half hour straight for game point. "Yeah, we'll have fun.." she didn't want to say anything to Heather, at all for the whole night, but Ian had asked her to be a little softer and inclusive so she graciously looked over at Aqua and added "...you do play, dontcha Heather?" She almost gagged, but she held it in and only felt the puke in the back of her throat for being so sickening sweet to the primadonna.

Heather looked at Nikki, actually surprised that she spoke to her willingly. Course knowing Nikki it was probably just her trying to be condescending or a set up for something rude or mean. In the end of it all though, Heather just made herself a deal to stay out of the Acolyte's way since she had a stick up her ass about something. Course Heather thought that it was possible Ian or Gavin said something to the girl. Nikki wouldn't try to be civilized just because.
It was nice to hang out with Ian again since she always thought of him as a good friend. Of course things were different from when they first met, but Heather knew that if she needed anything he would be there for her. It was the same vice-versa. Heather would never understand what he saw in Nikki of course, but who was she to judge. He saw something kind of beautiful in the Latina, and there was nothing more to think than "lucky bitch".
"I love air-hockey," she replied honestly with a small smile. She then looked at the menu and sighed. So many choices of artery clogging goodness to choose from; what was a poor girl to do? "I think a regular cheese burger sounds good, with a vanilla milkshake." Closing the menu and being satisfied with her decision, Heather looked to Gavin and nudged him on his side. "What are you in the mood for?" It had been a while since she actually bothered him and it seemed the right place and time to do so. Of course it sucked that Gavin couldn't be comfortable with his wings and all and Heather did feel bad. But she was happy to see he wasn't letting that get to him and started to enjoy the night.

The second that the words left Heather's mouth, Ian's eyes went wide and he looked at Niki shaking his head vigorously. "No babe, don't do it," he said shaking his head hard and then seeing the waitress he waved his hand over right away. "WAITRESS LADY! We're ready!" Ian yelled her over knowing it would only stall Niki for a little while they got their orders done. He liked Heather, he really did, but even he had to admit she was a little bit of an airhead, although a nice chick all around.
"Uh okay I want two triple decker bacon double cheeseburger with fries and those mad spicy buffalo wings. Oh yea and same for him just instead of buffalo wings lets make it some onion rings," he said the order hurriedly and couldn't look Niki in the eye for fear of busting out laughing. "Uh my babe wants a plate of chili dogs, and hold the onions will ya? Blondie over there wants a regular cheeseburger. Oh yea and milkshakes all around. Three chocolate and one vanilla. Oh and can ya make two of em' the extra large kind with that whip cream mountain and marshmallow sauce? Thanks," he said winking at the waitress as she finished the orders.
The problem with that though, is that the moment she left it was back to Ian looking anywhere but at either of the girls. He did however exchange a look with Gavin, his look only being able to express one thought rather clearly. Dude what the f@%#k are you doing?

"Uhh..." Gavin said, looking nervously at Niki and quite frankly just bracing himself for a comment from her. "Heh, Heather your living up to your hair color right there. Or did you forget to take your Focus Factor pill this morning?" he said with a slight laugh and nudged her shoulder. He would always make fun of her for being slow and living up to her hair color, so he wasn't too surprised. What was on Gavin's mind was Niki. He knew she promised that she'd be civil, but he also knew that there was somethings that were just too tempting for her to resist.
No sooner did the waitress leave did another one come back and put a basket of chips in front of them with a little bowl of sour cream and onion dip. "Oh sweet! The dip here isn't half bad. I still say Sky makes the best chip dip ever though," he said trying to make conversation. Gavin saw the look that Ian threw him and hoped that this wasn't a bad idea. He liked Heather, and he was willing to try out this dating thing for her, but he was only hoping that this wouldn't end in drama. Niki was his best friend and well he got her a lot better than most would expect him too, and Heather was another close friend and unfortunately but of them were not ones to stay quiet and neither liked each other.
Gavin grabbed a chip and put a bunch of dip on it, adapting the manner he always took and sat back to brace himself for whatever would come next. "Man uh... I'm hoping they don't take too long with our food right?" he said with a last attempt to stir the conversation further.

Niki bit her bottom lip as it all went down but with Gavin's last words she could hold it back no longer. Crossing her eyes and mocking Heather ever so she said "Yes, i hope the food gets here soon too. Hey Gavin..." she grinned cocking her head off to the side "..what are you in the mood for?"
Looking then slowly over to Aqua, her smile faded and the look on her face turned to something a bit disturbing. It was a look like she smelled something bad coming from Heather, akin to the kind of stare one might give to someone who had just shit in their pants loudly. "Are you for real? I mean, honestly...is this an act? Because if it is we don't need it. There's no rich Russians to impress, or foppish queens or you know.." Haven sat back and stopped herself.
Looking at Ian she took stock of her next few comments and decided to discard them. They were too hurtful and she didn't want to start the night off making the 'blond-dumbshell' cry. "Sorry boys, I promised...okay Heather, it's alright. But really chika...who are your friends? Do you have any that are honest to god real friends - or what, or do you just belong to this group of people who mutually use each other. Aside from Gavin, and Christ himself alone knows what he sees in you, who do you have as a friend?"

"I don't talk about your friends so don't talk about mine," she replied immediately. Heather's eyes quickly widened, a bit upset that she let the albino Latina get to her so quickly. But it was about time the New Mutant said something to the girl. She just couldn't shut up or keep anything to herself. The fact that Nikki had the ability to insult a person 500 times in one sentence was definitely a talent. Heather just couldn't stand the other fact that Haven liked the sound of her own voice. But in this case, Heather did have a point and she hoped the boys could understand that too.
Looking to Ian and Gavin quickly, she sighed and then returned her gaze towards Haven. "Let's just try and have a good time." Taking a several chips, she grabbed one from her hand and dipped it into the sour cream. "The food should be quick. I haven't been here for awhile but I remember the service being pretty good." OK the conversation topic was starting to get stupid. Why does she have to be so difficult? She can't even be nice for Gavin or Ian's sake!?!?. Taking another chip with dip into her mouth, Heather looked towards the arcade and saw a new popular game that most people would be able to talk about for hours. So she tried it.
"We should play Street Fighter 4 after," she said enthusiastically. "Remember the first three on Sega Genesis?" Even though Heather was a total girly girl, she did love the occasional video games. And that was because her father had every game system known to man. He had everything from Atari to XBox 360. It was his own way of staying as a kid and another way to bond with his daughter. Crap I need to call Dad tonight, she reminded herself. I keep forgetting.

As Heather got up and went to play her video game Haven sat there along with StormHawk and Diesel, a bit of confusion on her face. "You guys catch that?" she said to them with complete conviction. "I believe I was just told off, but she's a mess cause I was being sincere..." she looked into Ian's eyes "...you heard my tone, you know I was bein cool. I was doing that for you. I gave you my word to be cool with her and I was."
Niki swung her gaze around to watch Aqua for a second. She felt sort of sorry for her, poor thing was just trying to act so tough she didn't expect Haven to be nice, if for only a split second and in between layers of insult. "It was the best I could do, not having anything in common with the retard makes it sorta hard ya know. Damn. But I was just trying to get to know her, showing some concern for her, since she's your friend." Her eyes flicked back and met with Gavin's.
She placed both hands on her ample chest stating "I don't want to be blamed for this going bad..." and then pointing a hand at each of her fellow Acolytes continued, saying "...cause you both know I tried just then. Hell I can't help it if she doesn't get me, but I was just making conversation and now..." she nodded over to the blond girl, who looked surprisingly sweet for a moment as her complete concentration was focused on playing the game.
"OK. So she's not a total shit, but I guess I like her best when she's across the room. I just can't help it, when she speaks I just want to take her face and smack it. Gavin, why!?! Why her? She fits you like ...like...like waterwings." The image of Gavin floundering in water with those inflatable arm cuffs for children was a bit much and Niki, her concerned look crumbling into giggles, could not escape the scene playing in her mind. 'PFFFtttt' she held it back as best she could but her laughter escaped through her teeth and lips somehow. "Sorry, that's just too funny though... heh, heh, waterwings."

Ian smiled at Heather and watched her get into the game. "Hey Heather, see if you can beat my high score!" he yelled and took a bunch of chips and shoved them in his mouth. "Eh babe don't be too hard on her. She ain't bad, she's real sweet, and she's fun. Yea she got her slow moments, but ya know what so do I. But ya love me anyways," Ian said with a grin and nuzzled her neck. He knew the two of them made an odd couple, but he wouldn't have it any other way. They had a lot of passion and fieriness between them and thats what kept them strong.
"Although Gavin dude, as much as I think Blondie is a cool chick, I gotta say she don't really seem your type. She's like on the preppy side and you... well you ain't anywhere near that. This is all lookin' like that Avril chick's music video. Except you don't skate, you just play guitar," he said and took some more chips. "Eh you know me bro, I ain't gonna tell you what to do, but I know you too man, and I don't know if you can give Blondie the kinda relationship she wants," Ian added in a plain out tone. They were all cool with each other like that and all of them were able to say stuff straight with each other and be cool with it.
Ian smiled down at Niki and looked back over at Gavin. He knew his girl was really just looking out for their best friend, and for whatever reason Heather always rubbed her the wrong way. He always thought Heather was cool, though acted a little weird with him in the beginning. Then again, they did all just come at the same time to this school so everyone was acting kind of off. Some people were completely different now than when they started. As far as Ian knew though, there might be a whole different side to Heather than any of them had yet to see, so he couldn't judge yet.

All Gavin could really does was give a half smile and shrug, taking a gulp of water. "Look, we're dating, we're not in anything official. I don't do that on a whim, even if I've known Heather for as long as I have. I said we'd try it out and that's what it is. If it's cool and a relationship works with us, then what the hell why not. If not then that's that. I ain't gonna force anything when its not there and it's not worth staying in something if it's not a comfortable thing," he said casually and gave them a bit of a grin.
"She's not that bad either, she draws you know that? She's pretty good at it too and hey we're both artists so we kinda get the muse thing. I made myself really clear so I wouldn't get any bullshit surprises like I did with the last couple of girls I dated." A grin broke out on his face when he looked at Niki. "Not all girls can be as awesome as you Niki, and you're taken, so you can't blame me for looking around," Gavin said with a wink and laughed. "We're just taking it in stride, so nothing to stress over. Thanks Niki though, I know you been trying and that means a lot. She's really not that bad though. I'm not asking you to be friends but keep an open mind. There are a good amount of people at school that are worth more stress than her. And one of them's on our team," he said with a shrug and a roll of his eyes.
Just then, two waitresses came buy with all their food and milkshakes. "Hey Heather, cut the game short, foods here!" Gavin yelled and grabbed his milkshake to take a long sip. "Mmmm good stuff." When the food was set in front of them, Gavin dug right in, making his burger the way he liked it. "So Ian," he started and looked at him with raised eyebrows. "Why the hell were you watching Avril Lavigne?"

"Ugh STUPID Vega!" she said bitterly while hitting the joystick before slugging back to the table. It was a good way for her to ease her anger towards Haven. "Those stupid claw thingys get you every time!! Blanka is usually best to use since he has that electric ability." Sighing, she stroked back her new hair and shrugged. "I'll get him later. The graphics are amazing."
Just then her stomach started to grumble and Heather was ready to eat. Her milkshake looked delicious, therefore she attacked it first. She needed to cover her mouth however when she heard about Ian's musical interest. Heather didn't hate the Canadian singer, but she was definitely not one of her favorites. She had a couple of nice songs here or there but overall, Avril was just better with the whole punk princess fashion she was starting to express. The New Mutant started to giggle, making sure not to spill any of her drink. "Well she is pretty attractive," Heather said in his defense. But she understood that Gavin was trying to attack Ian's taste in music. Heather had to giggle again but allowed Ian to speak up for himself.
To remain out of it, she concentrated on putting ketchup and mayonnaise on her cheeseburger. She prayed that Haven would stop being a pain in the ass and try to be civil. Of course knowing Haven, that would only last for a while if it could.

"Hey!" Niki pounded her fist down on the table setting the milkshakes to wobbling in their tall tall metal mixing cups. "I'm the one who likes Avril...you got a problem with that!?!" she had a nasty look on her face and she stared at Heather and Gavin both until she couldn't keep up the joke anymore and she burst into laughter "HAHAHAaaa! No, ahhHH Hahaa...I'm kidding... Ha!!" Niki laughed a little longer until she got a hold of herself and wiped the tears from her eyes. "Oh.. You shoulda seen botha yer faces. Now that was priceless!"
She grabbed her milkshake and sucked on the straw for a whole minute before she stopped, and huffing for air said "These are the best! They're hard to suck, they're so thick." A sly grin curled her lips as the thought crossed her mind, the same thought she knew Ian would be having as well. Turning ever so slowly she looked right into his eyes and could not stop laughing.
Ok and now I'm going to put a hot dog in my mouth? Oh man this is too much. She settled her giggles and picked up her chili cheese dog. She felt eyes on her as she open her mouth wide and she paused. Looking she saw the boys watching her, and glancing over to Aqua caught the look she was giving her as well. With the cutest of shrugs she took a bite. "Mmmmm, that's incredible." she said past a mouth half full of cheesy chili hot doggity goodness.

Ian was in mid-bite of his burger and looking at his girl with widened eyes for a moment before finally taking that bite and chewing slowly, still looking at her. "Babe you... you... Aw man you're just cruel ya know and wrong," he said after swallowing the bite. "You're a god damn tease you know that?" Ian laughed and dug into his food, grinning when he looked over at Gavin. "Remind me why I take her out again? She tries to tease me to death every damn time," he said with a laugh and dug into his food.
"And just so we're all clear, I caught that stupid ass video on when I went to the rec room. K'8 had it on I think or something. So shut it you two," Ian said with a playful glare and grabbed a couple of buffalo wings. "Man this is some good food. It's greasy goodness. MMmmMMmmmmmmm. Calories." He took a long sip of the milkshake after licking off some of the whip cream on top. Then he reached to finish his first burger.
"We so gotta play foosball too. Man I miss that game, I used to play with my best friend Eric all the time at home. He told me the other day that he came by my place to play with my sister Lily," Ian said smiling and remembering his phone call with his best friend the other day. "Oh yea Niki, he says hi. He's bugging me to get you to come out with me those two weeks I get to come home in the summer. Eric's totally stoaked to meet you. So's my 'rents for that matter, and my bro. Oh man, but Eric's like totally up for coming here, and is pissed that he can't be one of us." He grinned widely as he thought of his best friend from home. He missed his home and his family like crazy, calling them at least once a week and talking to Eric on the phone every other night.
Grabbing a napkin, he wiped the sauce from his chin, too excited now that he was talking about his home and his friends. "Man when I sent Eric those pictures that I took of some of the people here, he was mad jealous. I could almost here him drooling when he saw those pics I took of the chicks here." Ian glanced at Niki with a sly tone to his grin. "I think his heart really did stop when he saw that pic I managed to get of you and Spitfire," he said with a laugh and started on his second burger. "He thinks your pretty hot too Blondie, told me to tell you to hit him up if you're ever near Venice Beach. He told me to say the same thing to Spitfire, but I told him no chance," he said with another laugh.
