Pitor tried to find the words to speak after a moment of silence, Emma's words having the desired effect on him at least to release the doubts that he had swimming in his mind. He knew that Aideen was a lovely person truly, and for someone who wasn't very good with making connections with people, Piotr knew two in particular of his own kids that would do anything for her. That didn't stop the concern he had about the young lady though. After years of being on the X-Men and experiencing some incredible horrors, Piotr knew a dangerous person when he saw one. Aideen was a very dangerous person, and he knew that there would be hell for anyone that crossed her.
"I think that it is a fine idea. We all know she is very dangerous woman, but she has never given any of us trouble. I remember how empty she looked when I first saw her. She was very... I do not know how to describe it. A very beautiful girl that looked at you with lifeless eyes and no joy, I do not know if there is a word for that. She is very different now than when we first met her, and for the best." Hesitating for a moment he looked up at the group and smiled. "Emma and Scott's word is enough for me. I welcome her to the team." Piotr felt more and more confident with the plan and decision as he thought about it more, and honestly was looking forward to what the future held for the X-Men.

Everyone's decision seemed to be made and Rogue was too frustrated with the situation. "Ah can't believe we are actually going tuh do this," she commented. She was leaning back against the couch the whole time since Scott asked her to stay. It was in his own commanding way of course but Rogue was use to it and understood he didn't want her to feel as if she was inferior.
When it came to Aideen, Rogue had a lot of respect for the girl. The X-Men were right about how good of a team member she would be. However in Rogue's eyes, the Corsair was still a girl learning the ropes. She recognized a loner when she met one, hell she was one herself and even though the fire bender worked better with a team now, Rogue didn't believe she knew enough how to work with a team to be allowed on the X-Men so readily. Another part of her was feeling quite bitter at the moment, resentful how everyone on the X-Men were willing to accept a born and conditioned dangerous killing weapon on the team with open arms, and she had to work for months to gain their acceptance. Sure she had had been a villain, but even when Charles assured them they had nothing to worry about they still treated her like a criminal. Then along comes a girl that was posed more of a danger than she ever did and they welcomed her with open arms. "Logan would probably agree to this actually," she said to Kitty. If it makes Rumble somewhat 'controllable'. It gives him a perfect excuse tuh just hit the guy without worrying about goin' too far. Plus he likes that girl as it is, and it'll just make him all the more happy to have his little friend there. At that Rogue couldn't help but smirk slightly bitterly but she grew serious again when the reality of the situation hit her.
It took her several seconds to finally sigh and shake her head. She was really against this but it was the less of two evils... or three or four. Looking at all of her friends and colleagues, she finally settled her eyes on Emma. If this doesn't work, we go with an alternative. For the meantime Ah'll try to enjoy the ride, she thought. With that she sighed again and shrugged. "Alright, Ah don't like this at all. Ah don't think she's gonna work as good on a team, but Ah'm outvoted anyways. Ah jus' don't see nothin' good comin' from this, but don't say Ah didn't warn ya," Rouge said with a resigned sigh.

"Alright, so it would seem we have a less than resoundingly unanimous decision, but nothing outstanding. Those of you who think I am campaigning for this young lady should know me well enough by now to know that I don't play that sort of game. We will see how things go." He walked back over to stand next to Emma, in front of Professor Xavier's desk. "There have been many points raised here today and I see we all have some issue with the way things have been going. For the record I would like to say 'Thank You' to each and every one of you for everything you do here, and for being able to put up with all of it on a daily basis."
"As Ember's Team Leader I will give her a chance to get home and settled before I call her before us all for the invitation to join our ranks. Taking under advisement everything that we spoke of here, of course." He looked at Beast, a knowing glance between the two old friends. He was about to release them all when he thought a quick reminder was in order. "I just want to remind everyone of Bobby's point.. that as a family we need to act like a family. So in keeping with that and in the spirit of our annual spring fling barbecue... My brothers and sisters," he smiled warmly "meeting adjourned."
He watched as they all milled about and left the office. Some in pairs, one clustered little group and a few of his friends and team mates left alone. Finally it was just he and Emma standing there, and he looked at her for a long moment. He wondered if they had all decided correctly or if this would just blow up in their face. Then he looked down at the framed photograph lying face down on the desk, he saw as his love's hand as it reached over and righted the frame, setting it gently in it's place on the desk. "I think our 'little' family" he said facetiously, as it was getting quite huge, "will be OK after all. It's only life and besides nobody's perfect. We'll just keep doing our best and who knows what good will come of it?" They embraced and left together to see to their kids.
