Kris exchanged a outraged look with Ana, blinking in the direction where Lian's voice was singing from earlier. "Oh... dear." he muttered when his team-mate had stopped singing. He loved Lian really, he loved all of his team, but there were times when he really did wonder if they had serious issues, and this was one of those times. "She's still a bit... drunk isn't she?" he shook his head, sighing after his rehtorical question, before shaking Lian's little song out of his head and going back to the conversation Ana had started off before Lian had her "moment".
"Oh dear me, I'm going to try my best to stop Veronika seeing the girl." Kris said, his voice still carrying traces of shock. "I actually thought someone had put grass on their hair as a joke when I saw it from far! Then I got close and... I realized it was... hair! Oh goodness Ana, you won't believe what i'm going through right now." Kris rain his hands through his hair, trying to remember Kevin's face to calm himself down a bit. Not everyone could look as good as him, and the rest of the "group" did, but... well... Kris just couldn't allow someone to have... green hair. That was even more outrageous than Tia mentioning her wanting purple highlights.
"Oh god, are you serious Ana? How can the girl still walk? I mean... Rumble wouldn't exactly have gone... easy on her now would he? Maybe it was someone else... though I don't know who'd do something like that for her... I mean, after all the news this morning! Who'd still be around to speak to her? I mean... I daresay she asked for it... " Kris shook his head again, really getting into all of the gossip. "... oh gosh that poor girl though, i'm sure Kevin's hurting... they were best friends afterall... oh maybe i'll speak to him laterr." Kris rotated his shoulder blades, licking his lips.
"Oh myy god! Don't remind me of breakfast! Goodness, I don't think I've ever seen anything like thatt! Oh, did you see the look on their faces?!?!?!? Oh my godd..." he trailed off, reliving the memory in his head. He shuddered a little, thinking back to the night before... when Kevin'd come so close to him... his smell... that seemed to calm Kris down a little, but as Kris remembered the previous night, he remembered something else as well.
"Oohh! I forgot to tell you! Have you spoken to Heather yet...?" Kris's eyes widened with a knowing look on his face as the topic changed, he remembered something from the previous night, and remembered that Ana wasn't with them when the news had reached them. "... Haven kissed Heather last night!" He whispered, turning his head around to make sure no one was listening. "CAN you believe that?!?!!?!?"

"No!" Ana exclaimed in shock, making the rag drop in the bucket from her loss of concentration. "You are serious? She really kiss her... oh dear lord that horrible!" She looked a little green in the face right now at the thought, not that she was homophobic but that the thought of Heather being kissed by someone like Haven was just disgusting. "Oh poor Heather. That is disgusting, I hope she slap her white albino face for that," Ana said shuddering and turning her concentration back on picking the rag up to finish cleaning the stands. She also used her telekinesis to lift the the mop and go back to cleaning the floor.
"I do not know what someone as handsome as Ian see in her. She look like a freak! Oh and someone like darling Heather, that is just disgusting." Ana shuddered again and made a note to give Heather her recipe for a detox drink. She never cared for Haven, finding her brash and classless, and from the critical eye of a runway model, she just didn't find the girl attractive or acceptable. She tended to view many like that, looking at them from a model perspective, or if she could see them as a movie. Very few managed to pass her standards in the end.
Ana tossed her hair back and rolled her eyes at Ripple singing to herself like the oddball she was. Her voice was scratchy and irritated her ears, like nails on a chalkboard. "God I cannot wait for cookout later. I want to put on the new bikini that Veronika got me. Will you wear the new swim trunk you got? I do not even know if I swim, but I do want to wear it." The room was close to getting spotlessly clean with all of Ana's hard work, smelling strongly like pine and orange from the cleaning solution. "Do you think Frostbite come to cookout? Oh I do not know, I never like her being friends with Kevin. He so sweet and so fun and she just boring. I do not know much about her though, does anyone other than Kevin really know? How odd yes? She no have any other close friends or even a group of friends. I wondered why, but Veronika said there be something freak like about her that keep people from liking her," Ana said babbling on as she kept a good portion of her concentration on getting the room all cleaned up. "I glad I not like her."

With a smile of happiness K'8 let Sean go back to his work. He had his hands full taking care of everybody in the stables. Heather it seemed was willing to stay and help too, and her power could be incredibly useful for cleaning things. "Uh, well it looks like there are plenty more hands to help. So I guess, uh..." she looked at Donna and knew the girl would need to get her things unpacked and settle in before she could be expected to help doing chores.
"Uh, Sean? Yous guys? Hey I'm gonna take Donna up to the house and see if I can find a teacher to let 'em know she's here, 'KAY?" She felt funny offering help and then turning around and leaving, but she knew they'd all understand. "C'mon 'Greeny-D', lets get you home and settled in." She started off walking to the mansion and looked back over her shoulder. "Follow me Donna, we'll see if we can find Emma or Cyke. They're the Headmistress and Headmaster, Emma Frost and Scott Summers. The teachers were having a meeting right after breakfast, but maybe they're done now." she shrugged as she waved her along to walk beside her to the mansion proper.

'Greeny-D ... love it! I got two new names already this week. Good start.' She thought to herself as she looked back over her shoulder at Kate and gave her a nod. "-Yea! Totally, on my way!" She called. With a short sigh she turned back to Lian and placed a hand on her shoulder in mock upset. "Another time my darlin' another time." Shaking her head she turned around on her heel and walked backwards to wave at the gang still behind. "See ya!" She called, half saluting them as she turned to hurry back to Kate's departing figure.
Running in wellingtons was never the easiest event, but after so long Donna had gotten used to the sensation of the rubber shifting and providing little support for her legs. She loved them though. As horrible and ugly, grotesque and unfashionable as everyone seemed to think they where she loved them for it.
Someone would be hard fetched to find even a single unmatched heeled shoe in Donna's wardrobe. And the stuff she had brought over with her didn't provide for such an occasion as a one legged party. She had flats sure, trainers ... even her old dance shoes. But no-one would find anything girly about her attire, nor her choice of clothing. That was how she liked it. "off to the Heads we go." She sang quietly.

Sean passed a hay bale over to Alex as he waved goodbye to K'8 and the new girl. He didn't have a smile on his face as he sorted the hay bales and threw the usable ones down from the hayloft. "Honestly Alex I ain't the one you gotta apologize to. What you did to Lurai can't be excused, not by any gentlemen. No matter what, there ain't no excuse to hit a lady, or any girl," he said with a firm tone that did nothing to hide the anger in his voice. He threw another bale down with a bit more force than before. "Only the lowest of the low would hit a lady Alex, and I never thought I'd see that from you. You been here long enough to be able to at least grasp control of your anger, so don't you tell me you can't help it. Even if ya can't, you oughta know by now how Lurai is and that you gotta be patient with her."
He took a minute to compose himself, concentrating on the hay bales. Sean had a feeling that when Riker had his 'talk' with Alex it went a bit differently than this was going and no matter what Alex took of it, Sean was going to say all that needed to be said. "What you did to someone on your own team... in my eyes that makes you only a little better than Rumble," he said in a low even voice and turning to look at him. Sean meant every word, and he considered Rumble to be the lowest of the low. He kept out of the guy's way, but it stabbed him in the guts whenever he saw what that guy did to Aideen.
Sean tore his eyes away from Alex and looked at the hayloft. "We got enough hay bales down, no we gotta start bringing the ones in from the pile outside. You go start that and I'm gonna check on the others," he said and began climbing down the latter. He stopped midway and looked at Alex again. "You gotta start showin' people that you're sorry, cause sayin' it ain't gonna cut it this time." Sean looked at Alex one more time before climbing all the way down.
The first thing he did was go up to Heather. "Hey Heather thanks a heap for offering the help. We could really use ya too, and I know just what for too. C'mon!" He put a hand on her back and gently led her over to the stalls. "See there here basins? When the power is back up in here on Sunday, they're going to automatically refill with water on the hour. Right now it's manual by the tap in the hallway, but it would be a real big help if you can use the water to clean out the pipes and the basins. As you see they're kinda dirty," Sean said sheepishly looking at the murky brown water in the basins. "It would be a real big help. Thanks so much!" He squeezed her shoulder and then went to check on the others.
"Oh boy, hey Leah!" Sean called when he saw the pile of dirty hay in the hall. "Leah, ya need to use the wheelbarrow. Ya put the dirty hay in the wheelbarrow, and then you take it outside and dump it in that pile that me and Jasper started," he said using a shovel to put the dirty hay back in the wheelbarrow. "Jasper got his own wheelbarrow, just watch what he's doing or ask him if anything," Sean said with a smile. "Its real important that you always keep the halls clean, cause if there are horses here and there is equipment in the hallways, it could be real dangerous for them. Now I don't know if you are planning on helping with the horses a lot, but it still will make it easier for us if the hall is clear. Here, lemme help you out for a bit so you can get the hang of it," he offered and grabbed a spar shovel to help. "Thanks a lot for helping out by the way, I really appreciate it," Sean said with a side smile to her.

Lian was able to clean out the hay bags and make the cabinets clean, at least to her standards. All the buckets were scrubbed out and Lian was able to enjoy the rest of her lemonade along with yet, another smoke. She was nice enough to step outside of the stable area, away from all the dry hay and wood. While leaning on the fence surrounding the stables, Lian took a drag and snickered at Katana. The two of them weren't on good ground, especially since the drama class incident.
Hearing Sean have to explain what to do, Lian smirked and shook her head. "Uhhh DUUUUUUUHH!!!" she added with a mentally retarded mocking voice. "DUUH I'm Leah and I can't function like a normal human being.... I gotta do things my own way cuz I'm uh.... uh... re-bel... yeah dat's duh word... GEH!" She finished her poor imitation with her tongue sticking out to one side and her eyes crossed. To end the routine, her hand was hitting her chest, doing the "retard move". "God," she continued while taking a drag of her cigarette. "Ya think at this point you would actually use your head?"
Lian wasn't the meanest person, but she wasn't a box of chocolates either. She had a problem with Katana the second they met and she had no problem showing her that. The two just didn't click and it only made Lian happier when she switched teams. Of course Frostbite replaced her and so far she didn't seem to be much help. But she was definitely better than Katana and not some pity craver. Lian hated pity cravers. They were pathetic in her book.
After finishing her smoke, she imitated Katana again by crossing her eyes and saying "DUH!" She had to laugh and giggled to herself. She didn't care if no one found it funny. Lian was always good at amusing herself. It was what got her by most of the time when she was alone with her thoughts. That was before she came to the Xavier school and met Sky. "Alright Cowboy what next?" she asked while finishing her cigarette.

"Go to hell, Lian," Katana said to her with all the contempt she could muster. Her voice softening she explained to Sean,"I was making a pile of the hay first and then I was going to cart it out, 'cause it seemed faster that way." She then quickly added, "From now on I'll put it straight in the wheel barrow, no problem."
It was only Sean's smile and polite manner that kept her from blowing up with rage at the correction. Despite all her attempts to be more mature, Katana still was not good at taking criticism. It immediately raised her hackles and even now her voice while gentler than her retort to Lian had an unpleasant tension in it, that suggested she was less calm then she pretended to be.
"No problem." she said shrugging off his thanks and his offer to help her. "I got it now. You don't need to help me." she said gruffly. "It's nice and all, but I'm sure you got other stuff to do." Picking up a shovel as she spoke, Katana attacked the pile of hay with a fury. She hoped that if she just kept busy with it she could ignore Lian's continued insults. It was then that she noticed what she thought was the faintest flicker in the hay and smelled a whisp of smoke. "Sh*t, Lian, you set the d*mn hay on fire! You moron!" Slapping the shovel down hard on the spot where she had seen the flicker she tried to put it out. It was only after she'd hit it that she realized that with Lian standing by the fence far outside the door there was no way that the flicker could have come from her cigarette. It must have been a trick of the light. Leah immediately felt foolish. But she couldn't let on that she had made a mistake. Instead she said cooly to herself and to anybody around her, for Lian was almost certainly too far away to hear, "You know the wind can catch your ash." She only hoped that people would think that an ember had actually been blown into the barn and not realize her silly mistake.

Alex was stunned. He thought he had paid his dues for what happened to Lurai. Riker had made sure of that. I...I...I...I thought everything was understood there. I thought we were passed that. Alex mind drew a blank while Sean spoke. He didn't know how to react to this. He had no idea how strongly TuneUp would react. He was not ready for an answer of this caliber. He understood where he came from but still, Sean was telling him things he already knew. He always liked Sean and knew he was a kind spirit but never thought he could get on his bad side. Then Sean said something that really shocked Alex.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Alex couldn't even put words to what Sean said. It was the lowest of the low blows. He compared him to Rumble. The man who is at the bottom of the bottom. Alex could not believe that Sean, his teammate, had put Alex on the same level as that scum. It made his stomach clench with uneasiness. Then came the mixed emotions: anger, guilt, shame, and sadness. His hands began to shake as Sean left the room. He didn't know how to react to the feelings. He was literally at a loss for more than words. The way Rumble treated woman was against everything that Alex believed in. He would never intentionally hurt somebody in that way. But to see someone be so sure in what they said that he was only a little better than Rumble really shook him up. He never felt so low before. But his words were true. Even though he didn't mean to hurt her he was not strong enough to stop himself. Does that really put me on his level? Am I that much of a scum? Do I really appear that way to everyone? Am I a monster?
He saw his vision blur and his body beginning to shake. No not now, not again! He needed to get out. The last thing he wanted was to change in public again. He didn't want to show weakness. It has cause him trouble in the past when he transformed around people.
He ran down the stairs onto the main floor in time to hear Leah screaming and hitting the Hay with a shovel. He gave her a troubled look. He knew his emotions were written on his face and he was counting on her to see it. She would know what to saw, she had to. He begun to half run to the door when he tripped. *CRACK* The same wrist that Lurai broke, broke again. He lost the cast the day before when he transformed. He never had the chance to visit Dr. McCoy to get it patched up. He muffled his scream and got back up and proceeded to the stables door and passed everyone holding his wrist while he was still shaking. "I need some fresh air," he said trying to keep his voice as steady as possible and he didn't do a good job at it.

Gavin had waved goodbye to K'8 and that new girl Donna and grabbed Ivy so they could head over to the stables. "I think its time to play bouncer and bother her. Besides they could use a bouncer, look at the people in there," he said as they got closer to the stables. It looked to be pretty busy, and he wasn't surprised that there was a lot happening. "Shh watch me go 'Secret Agent Man' here," he said to Ivy and carefully took off his guitar, setting it against the side of the building while softly humming the Mission Impossible theme song.
Peeking his head over to the hallway, he looked around with shifty eyes for Heather. It took him a minute before he saw her come out for just a second out of a stall at the end. He quickly pulled back to keep her from seeing him and looked at Ivy with wide eyes. "Blonde head spotted! Must proceed with caution and guard brain cells!" he said in an exaggeratedly frightened whisper. "I'm going in, wish me luck!" Gavin saluted Ivy, and peeked over to make sure that Heather wasn't looking before he started sneaking over to her. He glanced only briefly at Chupacabra, who looked a little out of it, but didn't pay much attention since they weren't good friends to begin with and the guy seemed way too emo for Gavin.
He was careful to be quiet and waited patiently, putting a finger to his lips to tell anyone who saw him to keep quiet. When Heather got out of the stall when she was done, he launched at her. "GIMMIE ALL YOUR MONEY PUNK!" he yelled in her ear tackling her to the ground and wrestled her on the dirt floor and pinned her arms behind her back. "I will shank you!" he yelled cracking up while wrestling her down. Both of them were now all dirty and Gavin was on top of her and holding her hands behind her back. "Aww I just can't shank you! You look so darn cute covered in dirt!" he said in his imitation of an old person voice. Gavin cracked up and leaned down to kiss her dirty cheek. "Hi. I missed ya, so now I have to make up for it and bug ya. Good start huh?" He slackened his grip so she could break away if she wanted.

Happy to help, Heather started on taking all the grotesque water out of the basins and pipes. There was plenty there to feel slightly grossed out about, but it wasn't a big deal. Slowly dropping the water into a large bucket, she started to move on to the next stable. A blur passed her and she looked to see Alex feeling a bit upset about something. She felt bad for the guy since he was a part of her team. But he never really connected with her or anyone within the family they created. Heather was able to have a good friendship with everyone on her team, but Alex.
Next thing she knew, she was tackled by a large chicken and force to the ground and her ear hurt. A scream erupted from her and she was in instant defense mode. Seeing Gavin's adorable but deceptive face, Heather grunted as she tried to get free. Using up her energy quickly, since Gavin was still stronger than her, Heather panted and looked into his green eyes. She was more than happy to see him and had to laugh at his successful attempt to "get her". He had a talent, no doubt about that.
"I hate you," she replied with narrowed eyes. "And now I'm dirty. Thanks a lot." She released her arms from behind her back and punched him quickly in the chest. Getting out of his grip, she stood up and pretended to be irritated. Sitting up, she adjusted her shirt and hair and sighed deeply. Of course it was all an act to catch Gavin off guard as she immediately pounced on him, bringing them to the floor again, and gave him a noogie while head locking him. "SAY UNCLE!" she said and giggled as he retaliated. She also bit his ear slightly to make him get the point that she believed she won.
Playing around in the dirt wasn't something she planned to be doing that day and she couldn't help but laugh at the situation. Heather was glad that her and Gavin were able to be the same in a relationship as they were just being friends. But she liked that they were dating since it was something she wanted and an excuse to have full access to attacking any part of his body. Smirking at the idea, Heather continued to try and keep Gavin in her hold.

A bit further from the stables...[/size]
Riker rolled his eyes and grunted slightly. "Ya better talk ta him Kitty, cause I be done talkin' now. An' there be no monster he can turn into that will stop me from ripping his hide inta mince meat if he ever lay a bloody finger on anyone on the team again. Ya realize that if he not be on the team I woulda ripped him ta shreds?" he said looking down at Kitty now and holding his ground when he saw the look on her face. "Oh dun look at me like that Kitty lass, he woulda bloody well deserved it an' I woulda taken any punishment given ta me. Tis not right. Me twin, she be gettin' better Kitty, that ya gotta admit. She used to be much more o' a handful than she be now. He got no bloody excuse, I be done tryin' with him. And ya better believe Kitty, that if he dun straighten out I will be the first ta go ta Emma and petition him off me bloody team." Riker's face was absolute and he was done trying to take on the sensitive approach with that kid. He needed to man up.
"I dun mind doin' some good ol' hard labor, we be no pansy asses that can't handle a wee bit o' hard work, ain't that right Ian?" he said clapping Ian on the back as they got to the fields by the barn. The paddock fences weren't in horrible condition, but Riker could smell some of the rotted wood from here. The far paddock fences looked like they would be the biggest problem. Riker assumed that with all the crazy stuff that happened at the school, its only natural that some stuff would get destroyed in the crossfire.
He jogged over to the fences when they got close and inspected it. He used to help out Flynn on his house, and he owned a horse and a couple of sows. Fixing fences were nothing new for Riker, and he caught on pretty well. "We do got some bloody work to do. Hey where be the tools?" he asked looking to Colossus.

"I will get the tools, do not worry," Piotr said when he led the group to their first spot by a run down and partially broken paddock fence, that had a field of grass that desperately needed mowing. "Come Ian, there is a tool shed right by the stable with all the things that we would need." He beckoned for the young man to come with him. "Wait just one moment please, we will be right back," Piotr said looking at Kitty with softened eyes.
She had only recently been becoming more of herself since Limbo, and it felt great to see her light smile again. He himself had needed a good bit of time to recover from the ordeal that came with Limbo as well. Most of his team was gone, and he lost one of them and nearly lost the others. His heart broke that Guardian had left them, and he would never forget him. As a result though, Piotr never took his little team for granted. Every time he looked at Niki or Ian or Kevin, his heart swelled with pride for the three of them, how strong they had become and the adults they were growing up to be.
Piotr walked with Ian in silence to the shed, though not an uncomfortable one. "I am sorry that I did not find the time to talk to you about what happened in art class, but now is as good a time as ever," he began while they approached the shed. "I know that you were very angry with Kyle, and that it filled some sense of revenge to get him back. I understand that as much as the next person, but please remember that life is too short to enact rage over trivial issues, no matter how betrayed you feel. Now this time I admit I expected it, but I don't want there to be a next time with Kyle. From now on you focus on yourself and no one else. Alright?" Piotr looked to the young man as he handed him a handful of tools. He pulled the large lawn mower out and began to wheel it back. "Could I trust you not to let this happen again?"

"Yea, you know you can Pete man, it was just something I sorta had to do," Ian said arranging the hammer, nails and boards so they wouldn't all fall out of his arms. "He had it comin' for a long time, ever since he mouthed off about his own teammate and then ran away like a little bitch," he saw the look Colossus gave him and shrugged. "There ain't no other word for him Pete man, sorry. It's how he acted, and there are way more chicks I know that got more balls than him," Ian said chuckling. "But it was just unfinished business that I now closed, and I ain't gonna have nothing to with him anymore. Like I told ya before, I was gonna take whatever punishment I got and that's exactly what I'm doing."
It was true that from this point on Ian was not going to have anything to do with Jumpdick at all. He didn't even acknowledge his existence when he was in the room with them at this point. He was done dealing with that sorry excuse of a dude, and had bigger things to worry about and bigger people for that matter, Rumble being one of them. Either way, they were all way more significant than Jumpdick and as far as Ian was concerned, that guy was just there and nothing special.
"Oh man we got some work cut out for us," Ian said when they got to the first paddock, dropping the equipment on the ground. "I'm doing the fences, I have bad luck with lawn mowers. Really bad luck," he said shuddering at the memories he had of mowing the neighbors' lawns for some extra cash. He ended up having to pay them for the damages at one point. "Yea I'm just gonna get started on this one here, straighten it up a little better." He grabbed a hammer and one of the boxes of nails, kneeling in front of the part of the fence that just had one side of the wood disconnected from the metal and getting started on that.

Katana felt slighly guilty about the sense of relief that washed over her when Alex's latest crisis provided a distraction so that nobody seemed to notice her own foolishness. As the boy ran out of the door, she shoveled more hay into the wheel barrow and tried to think of what she should do. Do I go out and talk to him? I mean that fall looked pretty bad and he might be hurt and he looked so upset.
Then again he was also a bit of a drama queen and dealing with him got exhausting. To be honest she was sick of the constant crisis mode and did not relish the idea of dealing with him right now, especially if he was going to transform. The last few transformations had been pretty dreadful and while she knew she usually could calm him down she would always get pretty beat up in the process. And he really doesn't try., she thought, realizing how similar in he was in that respect to her, or at least how she had been until the last few days. He just goes off and expects everybody else to clean it up. In their therapy sessions Ms. Frost had talked to Leah about "enabling" in regards to people tolerating the former Paragon's own antics, and although Alex never came up in that regard she was smart enough to realize the same could apply here. Or maybe she was just trying to talk herself out of work.
So instead of rushing out the door she continued to shovel hay into the wheel barrow and watch Gavin and Heather in their latest round of pretend fighting. He'll be fine. Besides maybe he'll take out Lian, she thought sarcastically. No he'll be alright.
