The awkward silence was obvious enough for even Wraith to notice and he looked curiously between the girls and the guy that had pegged him with the chair. It was... cool of him to come down and fess up to going all WWF. Wraith hadn't been about to turn over on any of the people in the library, but he sure wasn't going to stop the kid from manning up. If anything, it was admirable.
"What...[who] is Rumble?" He asked wedging himself between Ricki and Frostbite. He figured if he was bumping them a bit, they'd know where he was and would be less likely to start each time he spoke up. He frowned between the three of them. "or do I not want to know?"

"Oh yeah, dude- you want to know. But hey, I ain't no gossip Mon- i'ree?" Chase said slipping in his Jamacian twist. "I an I don wan no part to it mon, an you dere mestah ghosty go right on an ask what ye be wantin ta know. Hell some girl comes down and hangs out while you get examined? Stickin around while I'm there too and she don't even like me, with good reason man I promise you." He had seen the girls get jostled and he knew the kid was there in between them so he threw an arm up and around, finding the kid's shoulders and draping his arm around and over them. He pulled the kid back a little to speak with him, but he didn't bother to talk softly because he wanted Wraith to see the reaction Lorelai had to his words.
"Look, it's like this, check it out. She whined her way onto my team, leavin the team you're on in the lurch since old Emma swapped her for that sack of shit Katana, and then" he poked the guy in the sore ribs, not out of spite but just forgetting he was injured, since his story was all that really mattered at the moment "come to find out she's just as worthless. So I'm sittin there that whole time the doc was examining you, writing that stupid 'why I wont smash chairs on people' essay- five hundred words my left nut- and all I can think is 'why is this girl hanging around?' Ya wanna know what I think?"
Chase snikkered a little bit "I think you know what I think, I think you have a real good idea what I think. Yea, and I'll bet you got your own reasons for wanting to know who's this Rumble guy." Chase sucked his teeth at that, convinced he had the two young loveerrz dead to rights. "But like I say dere mon, I an I be no gossipin fool. You wan know who be de Mr. Rumble-mon, dene you gone haveta go un ask fo youself mon."

Lorelai hadn't looked back, but her jaw was clenched and her hand had formed into a fist inside her hoodie pocket. "He'll find out for himself soon enough," she said, turning her head towards them a mere fraction, with her hair curtaining her face. Her tone was cold as the area around her started to chill. Chase was one of those really big assholes you wanted to punch his face in so hard it would turn inside out, but Lorelai knew she couldn't pull that off, nor could she pull anything else off. It would never bode well for her, especially since he was the head of the team. She wanted to badly, maybe just ice up her fist and hit him in the nose- the med lab was right down the hall, but it seemed she had a case of self preservation that she didn't really have the day before.
She squeezed her eyes shut for a moment before opening them and stopped walking. She mustered up what looked like a semi-friendly smile before turning around and smiling at Chase, though the area was no bit warmer. "I know what I think. You need a better imagination. I'd been talking to Ricki if you hadn't noticed, but it's good to know you're creative," she said, still smiling at him before she turned around again and quickly relaxed her face into a scowl, reaffirming her hate for the majority of the school's population as she started walking away from him.

This can nooooot be happeningg!! Ricki huffed out a deep breath and stopped in her footsteps, turning around to look at Chase who looked quite odd with his arms around thin air and then over at Frostbite... who just, well - wasn't making sense to Ricki. Ricki didn't know what the deal with the Paragons was, or how their team worked or anything- but just as a normal person, she found it weird and quite unsettling how Lorelai behaved in a certain way with one person and a different way with another. Ricki was trying hard to befriend Lorelai again- but her different attitudes to different people was making it hard for the Acolyte.
No matter who it was, Ricki for one was the type of girl who believed that you should treat everyone the same way. Ricki was always polite, no matter who she was talking to- sure she had her moments, but they were normally accidents and she made it a point to apologize. Lorelai was confusing her- why be so sociable to Ricki and so unsociable towards Chase? Granted, he was egging her on, but wouldn't it just be easier to ignore Chase? It was practically the same thing Ricki was trying to get through to Katana here- ignore and be ignored. From what Ricki got, Lorelai and Katana both just wanted to be left alone; lead their lives without the snide comments, and the best way to do that was to follow the philosophy of ignoring and being ignored.
Ricki didn't feel it was her place to say anything to Lorelai, but she had to re-asses in her head how close she was willing to get to Lorelai, because her... different attitudes thing was, well, unsettling to Ricki. Ricki wasn't all that psyched with Chase about being bitchy towards Lorelai- but to be honest, Ricki didn't expect anything else either. Chase was just... well an asshole to everyone. It was who he was- and well, Ricki had to admit she admired him for accepting it and admiting to it. He knew what he was, and he acted like- after that if people liked him or not was upto them. But with Lorelai and Katana... they had this real nice side, and this real bitchy side- and Ricki couldn't stick up for them when she was exposed to one side, whereas the world saw another.
It was almost like a person with two faces. Well, atleast Leah promised that she'd try to be more sociable- no matter who it was that was talking to her. Perhaps Ricki ought to try and talk to Lorelai about it. Perhaps. "... thank you, for answering my question Chase." Ricki added, out of the blue, desperate to just.. break the ice. "I'll just go check for myself. Sorry Lorelai- Er, I'm going to head up to the library, you can come if you like." Ricki shot a tentative smile at Lorelai, before turning her head to look besides Chase. "And uh... Wraith? To sum it up- you don't want to know about Rumble." Ricki smiled weakly at the thin air- it was hard to... connect with something you couldn't see. "Thats my opinion anyway, avoid the name and the face as much as possible."

Wraith couldn't help but laugh at Chase's ribbing and it rolled off the invisible boy with little impact. Insults and torment were staples in the Shapiro house and Wraith's brothers dished out worse on a regular basis. "Yeah, bro, I'm about to propose." He snickered again and ducked Chase's arm to avoid another poke to his sore ribs, seeking refuge with Ricki.
"Anything you say, beautiful." He acknowledged Ricki's advice with a gentle nudge. He intended to stick close to the babbling blonde to avoid a repeat of his earlier beat down. Ricki could vouch for his presence until the others got used to him ghosting about. "I hope you don't mind being haunted a bit, Ricki, I'm coming back to the library with you. I want to apologize to Ian and the others." He ran a hand through his hair feeling a bit awkward. "Just let them know that I'm with you when we get there, alright? I don't want to break another school record." As usual, he let his voice smile for him. "Or my face."
He considered Ricki's warning and dismissal of the 'Rumble' topic as an end to his questions. He didn't know these people well enough to keep pushing for answers, but their reluctance to discuss it piqued Wraith'is curiosity. That and Frostbite's reaction. The blue-haired girl's drastic personality shift was off putting and highly amusing at the same time. It was like she was a different person than the one he had met in the kitchen. He cast a look at Frostbite that, obviously, went unseen. "Enjoying your ride on your mood swing there, Frosty?"

“It’s rather fun. You ought to try it,” Lorelai said, not bothering to try to look at Wraith. Best bet was just facing forward and keep walking. She rolled Ricki’s light offer over in her head and ignored everything else but her music while she thought it over. “I might stick around. Remind me again who’s there?” she asked, glancing over at Ricki while inwardly thinking who it would be this time that she would clear out. Maybe if it happened again, she could just sit down and read a damn book, alone. It was technically what she wanted, even though in the school it was a near impossible thing to do. Wishful thinking, as always. Gosh Lor, when’re you ever gonna learn?
The fisted hand inside her pocket relaxed and instead played around with the earbud that she’d been muffling. Maybe after Ricki answered she’d just tune them all out and avoid anything else that might just make everything that much more fun. Her mood had already soured; maybe she could just curtail it, for now at least. Things can always get worse, always. Especially with nearly the whole school being the biggest gossipers and whiners in the world, Lorelai had no doubt it would get worse for her. So much for trying what she was going for this morning; she knew in the back of her head it’d go bad. But there was still that small hope somewhere in her mind that it wouldn’t get so out-of-proportionately bad that it was just plain stupid. A pointless hope, but a hope nonetheless.

Never one to let a good opportunity pass by Chase took another chance to salt the wound. "OHhhhh just your most FAVoritest guy in the WORLD!" He folded his hands together up under the side of his chin and hugged himself batting his eyes at her. "Yea, the guy you seem to never be able to get over" he dropped his hands and the cutesy act before pulling both arm up into a powerful front double bicep pose "the one and only DIESEL, the man, the myth, the, well- you know, guy who left you for Haven."
He loved to mess with this blue haired chick, she was more fun to screw with and twist than lightbulbs and doorknobs as far as he was concerned. "Not sure if she showed up yet, but hey the room was Acolyte heavy so yea- you'll really fit in." Sarcasm oozed from his lips. "Ya know I gotta sit and wonder, one of these days when I have nothing better to do- since I really don't care, but sayin this now is just priceless- do you really think anybody gives a crap? Honestly you and this 'oh he left me' shit. Who would WANT to stay with you, Wraith's been here what? About a minute? And he already sees it. You're nuttier than a fruitcake."
"Is it any wonder nobody likes to be around you? We don't know who the hell you are. One minute you're this, the next that- I don't have the patience to figure it out, and I don't think anybody does. Until you get over yourself you're gonna be despised- just some free advice Team Captain to wanna be scrub." He walked ahead of her scooping up Rick and Wraith with his outstretched arms as he did, to hustle them down the hall. Looking back he said "Not that I care, but until you quit, me and my Team are stuck with you."
