"He's hardly your type anyway, right kidlet?" Niki said with a smile to Torri as she sat on the other side of Ian. It had been a while since she had spent any time with Shimmer, even though they were never all that close when she was Shimmer, but now that she was just Torri there seemed to be something altogether different about her. "Are ya even old enough to have a type yet? I mean, not that you can't, it's just I never heard you say anything about boys one way or another.. and forgive me but you always seemed like that shy, kinda, 'Some day my Prince will come', kinda girl."
She nudged Ian a little with the back of her shoulder as he sat there pouring over his homework. Her way of saying her hellos without any obvious PDA. Niki'd had her homework finished for a while now and she would've loved to have offered to help her guy, but that never went smoothly. She had a way about her that didn't mesh well with helping, she always sounded too harsh or condescending or something, and after the last time she vowed she would only help if he was desperate. Seeing Torri there though she knew her man was in good hands. The kid was smart, both the thirteen year old girls were, and she though back to how Tia had worked so hard on the project they shared in Beast's class.
"Now that I look atcha though, there is somethin different. I think this new team thing is working out well for you.. not that we don't all miss ya, but.. It's like you have a purpose now or something, or maybe ya just do better as a big fish in a little pond. I dunno, any o' this makin sense?" Niki was trying. This conversation was maybe more words strung together than she'd ever said to the former team mate of theirs. She hoped the kid din't turn tail and run. She knew that was an old standby trick the girl used to resolve issues.
She reached over and pulled at some stray blades of grass. getting three good sized ones she started folding them one over the next. Braiding was never her specialty, but with grass it didn't matter anyway.. so the pressure was off. "Sides... who needs to kiss a Prince" she said the word in some sarcastically exaggerated way, rolling her eyes before finishing her profound statement with "when you got a really neat frog." She looked at Ian waiting for him to look up at that comment, and when he did she smiled sweetly at him and winked.

"Ewwwwwwwwwwwww! Gavin! I dont want your saliva on my faceee!" Ricki whined, squirming in his grip and attempting to wipe her cheek with her shoulder, unable to do so though because it was practically impossible for her to speak, let alone do anything else because she was giggling like crazy. "You're so-" but what Gavin exactly was no one ever found out, because just at that moment, he loosened his grip on her and his attention diverted towards the pool and as Ricki followed his eyes to to scene of disruption, her eyes widened and she gasped.
Ricki nudged Gavin weakly in his stomach with her elbow. "Don't laugh!" she exclaimed, but as she turned up to see the expression on Gavin's face she couldn't help but giggle a little herself. She sighed, turning back to see what was happening with the two boys. Ricki didn't know the new New Mutant Jax very well and she wasn't exactly all that fond of him from Lunch either, but why on earth would Dante decide to beat him? It was just... well, Ricki knew Dante came from a rough background and all, but she never thought he was one to break easily. After all, he'd put up with her for so long- and if anyone had the patience to stand Ricki when she was being purposely stubborn, they sure as hell were hard to crack.
"I just hope the other guy's smart and doesn't pick a fight." she whispered to Gavin, "Dante doesn't seem too happy, and I just hope he doesn't get into any trouble!" Ricki sighed, subconsciously clinging closer to Gavin.

Donna's perception of the whole, messy situation was slightly skewed as she had been standing off the side of the basketball court... on her head. "Whoo, look at the bugger go! I wonder, does this school have a track team? 'Cause I think we just uncovered its new star sprinter!"
She let her feet drop back to the earth and grinned lazily at the scummer that had played puppet-master with the new kid. Still, the display of power didn't hold her attention and she turned back to the basketball court. She hadn't been kidding when she'd told Katana that she wasn't any good at the game, but she was content to sit on the grass and watch the others. Donna Conners was nothing if not an excellent people watcher.
For instance, she noticed that the little, stretchy girl was orbiting around Gavin like he was the center of her universe. And she noticed that Gavin wasn't doing anything to discourage it...
"Does anyone even know who's winning anymore?" Donna watched the ball start dribbling itself again. "Or has the game just become a free for all? Ooo! A butterfly!"

"Aw, hey I didn't mean nuthin by that. I know you is da bomb diggity thief there, pookie-poo." Chase pinched Sky's cheek and slid around to place his hand softly on her stomach. "Can I feel it kick?" Then he looked at Riker and with wide shocked eyes asked "Is it yours or mine? OR-" he looked around as if he was looking for the guy "is it Fleet's!?!" He grinned as he leaned down lifting her shirt to blow a huge loud 'rasberry-zurbit' right on her overstuffed gutty-wut. Casually slipping off his filthy fungussy Adidas running shoe, that he hardly ever wore with socks, he looked over at Lian. A sly grin spreading on his hawklike features. "You're allergic alright, heh- ALLERGIC TO MY FOOT!" he said as he jammed his big toe up her nostril and let his sweaty clammy stinking toes spread across her face and drag through her hair for a minute before he licked his lips and teeth at her. "MMmmmmm yummmmaaayy!!" Chase sounded a little like Jim Carrey as he said it. Ohhh that Chase was a vile bastard, but Lian deserved it. She had a bad habit of asserting herself into crap that she already missed. The joke was over and here she comes five minutes late as usual. He just couldn't help it, she needed to worship at the temple of Athlete's Foot Fungus, but more, she was now Ordained as it's High Priestess with the Smearing of the Tootsies a time honored tradition it was. "I didn't know you wanted a wake up call Sky- hey, what's everybody lookin at?" Chase spun his head to look over at the ruckus at the pool and said "Oh yea bitches," he called out to everybody around them "and THAT is why you don't FUKC with the DANTE Zohan. NO MON Nnnooooo-!" He looked at Riker and grinning said "Yeah, he's on our team, so kiss it mookah-chaka!"

At this point, Wraith was used to people bouncing off him and he didn't take any of it personally. Especially not when it was a hot chick. He would probably forgive a girl with a pretty face just about anything.
"Whoa, baby!" Wraith joined the others staring over the fence at the puppet show and didn't blame the one guy in the slightest for bailing as fast as his legs would carry him. That Dante guy looked like bad news. Still, Wraith couldn't help but fold over laughing, his delighted amusement letting everyone know exactly where he was. "Oh, God, did you see that? 'Who's a good Preppy'. That is classic, man!" Wraith whooped before making a beeline for the basketball.
"Seems like every time I turn around someone's getting their ass handed to them. Is everyone here out for blood, or what?" He shot the ball from the foul line and watched it go wide. "Damn," he muttered. "So aside from the Mohawk over there and Chase when he's around furniture... anyone else I should make an effort to avoid?"

Torri looked up at the commotion and then to Ian. She could see how serious he was and simply nodded her head firmly to assure him he had nothing to worry about. She appreciated the brotherly like relationship she was able to have with him. It made her miss her former team more and lately she was considering trying out a Danger Room session with them to see if she could handle it. But she wasn't really ready to jump on it yet; all would eventually occur in due time.
"C'mon then," she replied softly with a slight nudge to his side. "Gavin is able to play and be merry while your still finishing this darn paper. You need to calm down love. Especially when you spelled 'military strategy' as 'military pastrami'." She giggled as she pointed to the screen so Ian could see what she was speaking of. "I think he is hungry again," she concluded to Haven. She wasn't really understanding what Haven was trying to say to her earlier. But understanding Haven's character, she got what she was trying to say and didn't get offended.
Giving the Latina a nice smile, Torri had to giggle a bit at how Haven phrased her words. "Thanks Nikki," she replied. "You're not so bad yourself love." She then turned her attention to the Hispanic New Mutant who she hadn't seen in a long time, and waved with another smile to him. He had gone through a lot and didn't want him to think she hated him or disliked him. She heard about most of what happened between him and the wolf twins and just honestly felt bad. Finally returning her attention back to Ian and Nikki, she nudged Ian again and shifted the laptop to see better. "Hey! Look back here. You have another page and a half to finish."

"OH YOU F@#KIN' ASSHOLE!!!" she wailed. Having a foot in her face was nothing new, considering her friends and Sky. But one with athletes foot and smelly crap and just... eh... not something anyone would want in their face. She immediately removed her face once she realized what was in it, and grabbed her flip flop. "Ill teach you to stuff your foot into someone's face!!" With that, she slapped him in the face with her shoe and had no problem doing it several more times.
"STOP.... BEING... F@*KIN' DISGUSTING.... YOU.... PIG... BASTARD!!" Each word was associated with a slap on some part of Chase's body, the last one aiming for his nose. Lian didn't care at all about what Dante did, granted she found it really hot that he was able to take care of himself; something she was already sure of. But unfortunately the foot in her face took away the pleasant distraction and that made Lian even more pissed off.
Finally returning her flip flop to her foot, she got up and grabbed her lemonade. "freakin' cocksucker," she finished and headed towards the pool to wipe her face off of the sweat and other disgusting shit she collected from her fellow teammate. She really wanted to gag and was getting a bit of a reflex every second she thought about it. I'm going to f@*kin' kill that bastard, she thought maliciously.

"DON'T LET EM FOOL YA! Or even try ta school ya!" Chase broke into a Reggae song, that was well known and he did alright with it getting up to the chorus to make his point as Lian walked away. "COULD THIS BE LOOOOVE~ then be loved. COULD THIS BE LOOOVE, oh- then be lo~oved."
"Oh yea, she loves me. But shit man, I'ma tie her up and soap out that filthy mouth of hers cause I am NOT bringing that nasty whore to meet Momma!" He reached up to rub his nose at the stinging that was far worse than all the other shots he'd just taken. He thought about what just went down and even though he could have stopped her at any time just by freezing her flipflop in mid swing, he thought it would be better for her to get it all out of her system. He really did love her, she was one of his best friends after all and the foot trick was especially gross, but when he drew his hand back from his face he caught sight of something red.
"Ow. F*ck! DUDE I'm friggin bleedin here. Holy shit lookit this shit." He reached up to the bridge of his nose where the lasceration was and it stug super bad. *STSttststst* He drew the air in through his teeth and shook his face uncontrollably "OW, Sky check this man, is it bad?" He was a little bit scared and he was sure Riker would be able to hear his heart beat thumping hard and fast enough to beat the band. "Dammit and I was gonna have my head shots done this afternoon" he joked.
Even though he was trying to hide it the pain was evident on his face. She must have caught him at a weird angle or the little plastic thingy poking through must have got him because it was swelling up a little right around the laceration. "I'm good- I'm cool." He felt all the other stings now starting to throb and he imagined he musta looked like a welted up hairless baboon with one shoe off. "And she was the anointed princess of the funk-foot, that's like an honor and shit, well in some parts of the world" He tried to make a funny but he knew it was lame.
He took his shirt sleeve and pressed it to his nose to stop the blood. "Ow." he said again in a monotone way closing his now tearing eyes.

Dante wasn't exactly scary, but he was definitely not someone Heather would start talking to randomly for simple conversation. She was able to finally understand his power and to be honest she was right with Ana when it came to how shocking it was. Heather was a bit thankful that something else distracted her after Gavin LICKED Ricki. Once again, she knew it was all fun and games but that little twang of jealousy hit her right in the gut. She liked how playful Gavin was and the way he was currently joking around with Ricki was just like how he joked around with Heather. But to be honest to herself, Heather was worried that Gavin might have been getting feelings for his fellow Acolyte. Call it paranoid, but her friends weren't really helping her relax towards the thought.
Heather was about to say a smart comment after the whole Dante and Jax thing happened but Lian's mouth was blabbering away. Ooooooook then, she thought and giggled at bit at the Paragon. Lian always had a mouth on her and wasn't afraid to use every word a sailor did within one sentence. Heather couldn't blame her though since having a foot in your face would be rather gross. Seeing Alex, she smiled and waved before turning her attention back to Gavin and Ricki.
Veronika's influence was a bit stronger then before, and Heather was oblivious about it just as she was oblivious about Alex and his crush on her. She never really spent much time with him, considering he was a big outcast of the group. But she always showed him respect and appreciation while letting him have his own time to adjust and reconcile everything with everyone. "Nice haircut by the way," she said. "If fits you very well." Giving him one of her well known warm smiles, she shrugged and looked around her. "You didn't miss much, but you're going to see me bother Gavin in a second." She giggled and then looked at Ricki.
"Really Ricki? You're cheating on me already?!! After everything we've been through together!?? I thought when we linked arms and ate together that we were sharing something special!" She pouted and then walked to Gavin, still with her cute pout. "And you... You're so mean to me." Her pout turned into a devilish smirk. "And I can be mean right back." With that, she leaned in and kissed him, making sure it was sensual and soft. She wasn't big on PDA either which is something she and Gavin shared alike. But in this situation she needed to get back at him. She then pulled away slowly and licked his earlobe, getting that spot he showed to have liked previously. "Mine," she said softly so only he could hear and then backed away to give him some space. She immediately made her face look innocent and bit her lip slightly to look more cute than usual. I hope that worked, she thought innocently; not even knowing what the consequences would be.

Gavin stood there and blinked a couple of time in a daze, though who could blame him. That was a first from Heather, and definitely something that he and probably anyone else ever expected from her. "Uh... um... wow." He was at a loss for words at the moment and could no more stand there and blink. "Uh... Was I just raped?" Gavin blinked and looked around, still slightly dazed as a big grin went on his face. "Man, now I know how you feel Ian man," He joked and laughed shaking himself out of it. Girls CAN'T do that to a guy and expect them to comprehend anything said to them for at least five minutes, or be expected to control his speech.
"Wow man, I mean you just mauled me there. I feel used, abused, and dirty," Gavin said with a serious face, hugging his arms and trying to look vulnerable. A big smirk cracked on his face and he waggled his eyebrows. "I LIKE it!" He laughed and shook his head again, letting out a large breath. "What have you been doing woman? Did you watch a Sex and the City marathon or something? Why do you do that NOW of all times? We were alone just the other night! You know what Heather, you SUCK!" Gavin yelled, pointing an accusing finger at her before throwing his hands up in the air in frustration.
He walked over to where Ian was sitting on the grass and plopped down next to him and Torri while glaring at Heather, though he wasn't all that serious. "I thought she was supposed to be the less evil of the bunch. What the hell man!" he said crossing his arms. A look of confusion came on his face next as an unexpected scent filled his nostrils. "We're not barbecuing again are we?" Gavin asked wrinkling his nose as the wind carried over something burning from a distance.

Ricki stood frozen where she'd been previously while Gavin walked away to go sit by Ian, Niki and Torri. In all honesty- she was feeling awfully awkward right now. Heather had kissed Gavin while Ricki was so close to them, and it annoyed Ricki for reasons yet unknown to her. It took her a couple of seconds to decide whether she was going to just go sit besides Riker and Sky and the others, or whether she was going to go join the rest of her team and Torri. It took her a few seconds, but she did the most Ricki thing to do- she hopped over to sit by her team.
Half the people here already took the mickey out of her because they thought she liked Gavin- if she went and moved away from Gavin and her team right now after what'd just happened, she'd never hear the end of it. And hey, why was she being bothered by it anyway? Sure, PDA gave Ricki the shudder- she wasn't a public lovey dovey kind of person, but loads of people around them did it all the time, and Ricki normally just looked away and ignored it- why should Gavin and Heather be any different? The best thing right now, would be to just play along.
Ricki skipped over to her team, popping down next to Torri. "Torri! Heather just cheated on me with Gavin!" she exclaimed, hugging Torri from the back. "I feel rejected! Tell Heather I'm not speaking to her!" Ricki attempted to hold her innocent puppy dog look but burst out laughing anyway, although she realized there was something forced about her laugh this time. More out of habbit than humour. She let her giggles fade away, before the stench that'd been bothering Gavin got to her as well. Ricki sniffed a few times, letting go of Torri and leaning straighter on her knees. "... I don't think that's Barbecue." Ricki gasped, catching the sight of smoke rising beyond the pool, by the lake. "It wouldn't cause smoke like that.." Ricki looked down at Torri, exchanging a worried glance. "Someone should go and have a look- I wouldn't mind going, anyone else?"

Wraith sniffed at the air curiously. He hadn't noticed anything until the others brought it up, but there it was, the thick stink of something burning. Whatever it was lacked the natural, heady scent of wood and he snorted. The Maine outdoors man knew a wood fire when he smelled one. The family cabin back home was what outsiders would call 'rustic' with a wood-burning stove and a fireplace in near every room.
"That's definitely not a barbecue," he said from nearby the other Acolytes. He was careful that time to keep out of swinging distance from Ian. Wraith had no interest in spooking him again, especially not since he found out that his team leader had super strength. One solid hit from Ian and Wraith would be nothing but a pile of so much invisible bone dust and a pair of boots.
"Are there fire starters at this school? I mean, someone could just be powering up, right? Not necessarily something to worry about?" He poked Ricki in the side of the head. "Right?"

Ian looked up from his work that he was almost done with anyways, but mostly cause he got curious about the smell. "The only fire starter here is Aideen, but she ain't here yet s'far as I know. We woulda all heard the sound of a motorcycle sometime today if she was home," he said and then shrugged it off looking back at his work. "Eh I wouldn't be too bugged Ricki, the wind like comes from everywhere, might be a barbecue from miles down the road. Sides, why would something be burning around here if Spitfire ain't around so it probably ain't her barbecuing Rumble's ass."
He looked up in thought before a smile came across his face. "Although a guy can dream," Ian added exchanging a look with Niki and Gavin. He had been enjoying Rumble free drama for almost a day now and was enjoying having time pass without seeing that guy's face. He wasn't stupid though, he knew that the second Aideen came home, it would start right back up again and he'd have to sit there and grind his teeth. At least he got to see Spitfire beat the living daylights out of him... and Wolverine throw him out a window... and he also got to feel the ribs breaking on the guy when he slammed into him. It's been a good week.
"Naa Sunday's are usually pretty calm here. It's like the craziness takes a break." Ian paused for a minute and sighed. "Oh man I totally just jinxed myself didn't I? Crap." His shoulders slumped and he got back into his paper. "Yea Ricki babe, chill out I don't think it's anything to worry about. 'Sides what would anyone be doin' starting fires in the woods? That's like weird man."

Niki could only cover her reactions so much, cocking her head at the odd reply from Torri and then checking herself when Gavin hardly noticed her. Her crack about the smoke in the air smelling like chicken she didn't think would be well received by her boyfriend's wingman so she kept it to herself, but she did let a smirk curl the one corner of her mouth.
As more of the Acolytes came over she felt the cramp of too many people around her. She still was a loner by nature and the time spent there at the academy had only softened her resolve slightly. The fact remained that she didn't like people, and she really hated crowds, but she fought back the urge to get up and leave. After all they were supposed to be her little click, even if she didn't choose them herself. She would never choose a click, a friend or two - yes, but a click- never.
Niki pulled her legs up and placed her chin on her knees, hugging her legs. The talk of Aideen being gone was enough to make her sadder and more withdrawn then as Ian mentioned his name she huffed out a lungfull of air out her nose. The shared look with him and Gavin told the tale. Rumble was the last thing she wanted on her mind, but the image of him flat on his ass and looking up begging not to get country fried by her best friend was too much and a little smile grew from deep within her.
The image of that moment was a badge of honor for her, since she felt that all the talks of vengeance she'd had with her room mate late into the nights had made an impact. It was a shame she didn't take the chance at fighting that punk herself, she was pretty sure she could take him. It was a sore spot with her, she didn't like backing down. It was not in her character to let someone get away with the crap he pulled and not make them pay for it, but she was clever, she'd find a way to ease the regret she felt by a measure of cold revenge.
Almost on cue, and ripe with sarcasm Niki said "Yea, and nothin' weird every happens here." She glanced back at Ian, a smile finally spreading up and out to show on her face. It wasn't so bad to be with a group of, for lack of a better word, friends. At least they were none of them Aqua, or God forbid Frostbite.

Dante's dark eyes lazily flicked over the pretty red head in front of him. She was a reminder of how God gave women all the powers of seduction, everything from the little smirk full of secrets that came on her lips to smooth and soft skin that was enough of a reason for this girl to get anything she wants from any guy around her. He didn't like to think of himself as the kind of guy that would succumb to a pretty girl's wills, but in the end he was as much of a guy as any other guy in the area. Well, the ones that had their gears turned in right at least, which he could guess was a good number of guys in the school.
"You know the deal Red," Dante said flicking his eyes down her body. "Nothing comes free. It's been fun though, I'll admit." He held her gaze for a moment, a look of understanding unbeknown to anyone but the two. A smirk crossed his face for a brief moment before his lips came back into the usual stone faced look. "Check ya later Red," he said before straightening his jacket, all the while holding her gaze. Dante walked away from the group, without another word, looking back only for a moment to get a last look at the hot little dish.
Whether he chose to ever admit it or not, he liked Veronika's style. She was street smart in a classy and sophisticated way that wasn't often seen in girls whether they were from the streets or not. She knew how to walk the walk and talk the talk, and what he thought was great that she knew the power that she held over guys with just her raw sexual appeal. He gave her a lot of credit for that, but at the same time reminded himself that she was not a girl to underestimate.
Dante took a seat right by Sky, Chase and Riker casually, eying the blood all over Chase's face. "I'd clean that off. It dries pretty quick," he said sitting back and leaning against the wire fence. He glanced over at Riker, waiting to see if the guy would call him out about the stunt he pulled by the pool with his new teammate. It was alright with him one way or another, Dante never backed down from being called out.
