"Alright everybody buckled in and settled then? You guys all got enough room back there?" He looked back and made sure that everyone was settled in before he started driving toward the school, knowing that all the kids were anxious to begin a new chapter in their lives that would change it forever.
"And none of that 'sir' stuff with me, I ain't THAT old. Call me Bobby, or Iceman, but I like Bobby better. Save the 'sir' stuff for Scott," Bobby said with a grin as he glanced at the kids in the rear view mirror. "Anyways, you guys are gonna love it at Xavier's. I been there since I was about your age, and well... it's been an interesting ride, I'll tell you that." He was doing his best to make them feel at ease, since he could only imagine how nervous some of them were about going not just to a new school, but one full of mutants. Kitty always said that Bobby had a way about him that made the kids very much at ease, so he hoped he could do the same for this group. Though it had been many years ago, he still remembered what it felt like to leave everything he knew behind and go with Scott and Professor Xavier to begin a completely new life.
"We're not a huge school, well in terms of people anyways. Most of you have probably been to a school with more people, but the mansion is really big. We have just about anything you guys could want. Basketball and Tennis courts, an indoor and outdoor pool, a music room, a huge library for all you readers there. We got a computer room too, which Dr. McCoy keeps updated with all the latest stuff, so it's pretty sweet." Bobby was trying to remember all the facilities that they had at the school, but there was so much that even he had trouble keeping up. "We got a gym too, and it's pretty big. OH and you guys came at a great time, we're getting horses tomorrow. A lot of the kids are really excited about that. Some spent all weekend setting up the barn for them. We also have a huge lake out back, and now that it's getting warmer out more and more kids are taking the boats out."
Bobby looked back at the kids and grinned as the stopped at the only red light in town. "If you guys wanna know anything or got any questions, I'd be happy to answer them. And now's a good time to ask too, cause it'll prepare you for anything before we get to the school. It's not a long ride mind you, but hey I know I had a ton of questions when I got there for the first time, so please feel free to ask."
