Aideen listened with the same blank eyes as both Emma Frost and Cyclops tried to convince her that she wasn't at fault. They didn't understand though, they weren't there. Whether Logan was Sabretooth's prime target or not, because she was there he looked out for her more than for himself. If Aideen had never been out there in the first place, he would have had more time to concentrate on himself and get out of there alive. But he chose to keep Sabretooth busy so she could have a chance to get away. Sabretooth had already declared her a target when she arrived, whether it be because of her smell, or the fact that she lit his whole head on fire. And in the end he got her, and just as he was about to finish the job, Haven came in.
So it was all done in vain then. Logan did his best to save her from him and Sabretooth got his claws on her anyways. She still felt them. It sounded even worse when she thought of it that way. Aideen looked up at her two superiors and kept the blank eyes. It was almost odd to be numb. Even Emma's affectionate gesture of moving the hair out of her face, which normally would have soothed her a bit, just went on without anything stirring inside her. Aideen refused to allow anyone to get close to her anymore. "I shouldn't have been there. It would have been different if he didn't have to look out for me," she said quietly. It was true though. But then again Aideen would go where she was told. If they felt that she was not fit to go for whatever reason, she would follow their orders, as she should have.

As the elevator doors slid open with a whoosh Emma stepped forward into the chrome hallway. Turning around on her heels before the other two could exit she spoke saying "Scott, I want you to give her a chance to decide for herself if she can help you in this. I will be in the CEREBRA Chamber if you need me."
Emma flipped her hair slightly as she strode off down to the far end of the hallway. As Emma got halfway down the hall, the sound of Haven's voice could be heard calling out to Ms.Frost in a tone most un-ladylike. Emma couldn't deal with her just yet and kept right on walking. Reaching the CEREBRA Chamber, she leaned down slightly to have her retina scanned for entry, and a moment later the door opened and she glanced back over her shoulder at the pair of them before disappearing into the room.

"I'm starving you BITCH!!!" Haven called out from her cell. "YOU are trying to kill me? Or, what, punish me with starvation!?!" Her stomach had only had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich all day and she was angry and had run out of toilet paper, since she had over stuffed her holding cell's toilet in order to make a mess for Beast to have to deal with. "I HATE you!!!" she truly did hate Ms. Frost.

Aideen watched Emma walk away and swallowed again as thoughts streamed through her mind. Haven's screams panged her a bit since she wasn't well off and Aideen had no way to help her out. So she was to make the decision then. Well, it seemed that she was needed for this in particular because she was the only one who could show Cyclops where it all went down. It was going to be hard, but Aideen had been mentally prepping herself since Cyclops first told her about the mission. She thought it over for another moment before she looked up at Cyclops, strands of her thick dark hair fell away from her face. "I'll show you where it started," she said in her usual quiet voice.

"You got stones Ember, I'll give you that." Cyclops said as he motioned with his head in the direction of the hangar. Leading the young Paragon Team-leader down the hallway, they walked past the door to the Genetics-Lab.
Scott glanced in shouting at Haven "At ease there you- she'll be back in a minute!" And made sure to keep the pace going so that Aideen wouldn't get hung up in looking after her. For some reason, a reason which Scott couldn't figure out- not that he'd spent much more than a moment or two trying, Ember and Haven were friends. He just didn't want Ember distracted from her present mindset.

Following Cyclops quietly, she glanced in the direction of Haven's voice as he yelled to her to settle down. She wished she could help Haven somehow, but Aideen knew better than most the consequences of one's actions and knew that Haven needed to be punished. Still, she did wish she could see the girl somehow.
Right now was not the time to worry about that. Aideen had a duty to fulfill and she would do as she was asked. Her heart was slowly going numb and she hoped that by the time they got to that area deep in the woods, her heart would have locked itself away for good. That would be best.

He activated the door for the hangar and it slid sideways into it's recess allowing them entry. Inside it was dark and the light from the hallway painted a swath of light in a rectangle that threw their shadows ten feet before them into the darkness. Stepping inside the hangar activated the motion sensor lighting and the scene from the night before was revealed to their eyes, less the many students and the remaining teachers. Just at the far edge of where the lighting began to fall away again into shadow sat the sky-cycle...
"There it is." Scott said to Aideen with a look at her jacket, hoping it was more insulated than it looked. "You ready for the cold? Cause I think it's gonna be chilly!"

Aideen studied the sky-cycle with interest sparking in her bottomless dark eyes. She had never seen anything like this and it looked like it packed some unbeatable power. The ride must be insane. She stood next to Cyclops quietly and looked up at him as he spoke. From the second she had walked into the mansion, her body had absorbed a massive amount of heat quickly because she had been quite cold. She should be able to survive the cold for a good while now. Aideen zipped her jacket all the way up and tugged on her long gloves that she placed in her pocket. The gloves were insulated enough to keep her perpetually cold hands very warm, so no complaint from her there.
"Yes, I'll be fine," she answered quietly still admiring the sky-cycle with awe and curiosity.

"Climb on and get your helmet on." Cyclops said to her as he went about putting his own helmet on and seating himself up front. It was obvious he was unsure exactly how all of the controls worked, although he seemed confident enough. In actuality he had flown it several times, but even though he was a skilled motorcycle rider there was a slightly more difficult level of throttle control required with this device. It was certainly safe, with many fail-safes and redundant flight systems in place, but it would probably not be the smoothest of rides. He pulled on his gloves and toggled a few switches on the center console before he was satisfied with the settings.

Tugging her hair out of her ponytail that she used her dark green bandanna to tie her hair back, Aideen tied her bandanna around her head. She placed her helmet on her head firmly and adjusted the face shield. She adjusted it for a good tight, but not too tight fit. Her helmet should keep her fairly warm. In a graceful stance, she climbed up behind Cyclops on the large bike and moved around a bit till she became comfortable.
The controls on the sky-cycle looked unlike something she had ever seen, but Aideen trusted that Cyclops knew what he was doing. She spent a couple of more minutes making herself comfortable and locking her knees against the sides, then waited patiently.

Feeling her get ready and tighten her knees around his thighs Scott keyed the ignition toggle to ON and felt the turbine whir up inside the body of the machine. He wanted to test the controls a bit before he opened the hangar's launch doors above them. He twisted the left side handlebar throttle and caused the sky-cycle to hover. He cranked it all the way but it barely got off the deck if just ever so gently, it was still slightly rubbing on the hangar floor until he remembered to throttle up with the right side throttle and as he did so the 'cycle rose sharply like a bucking bronco.
'Too much!' He thought 'Gotta remember, easy as it goes, or we'll be tossed off of this thing.' If it hadn't been for Ember being on the back of the sky-cycle just then it probably would have thrown him up into the ceiling, but her added weight and the fact that she was sitting behind him lent a balance to the machine and Cyclops was able to recover it easily.
He eased back on the elevation throttle and pressed with his feet one at a time and the machine spun in place first to the left as he pressed his left foot down and then to the right as he pressed his right foot down. Finally he pressed them both down together and the sky-cycle began to move forward. With gentle pressure he pulled and manipulated the handlebars around and the hovering machine began to yaw back and forth and up and down as it flew along.
"Seems to feel right, lets hope the wind isn't too rough on us." Scott yelled over his shoulder as he pressed the keypad's on-board link to the hangar door and the lights shut off. A klaxon alarm sounded, as yellow flashing lights, like the top lights on some tow truck, spun and cast scattery shadows across the interior of the hangar. "Hold on tight!" he hollered and throttled the sky-cycle up and out of the sub-terranian hangar. Up through the center of the basketball court as it had separated to reveal the hangar below. They were airborne! The search for Aideen's dear friend had begun!!!
