The sky suddenly turned a swirling dark purple, and Shadowkat certainly didn't miss it. She had been watching her three students, though the three thick and immense lightning bolts that struck over the castle. However, they seemed a bit peculiar in that it looked like one person traveled with each bolt. "Woah," she said, and then gathered herself immediately."Let's go!" she said in agreement with the students, and saw that Elixir was taking the time still to rip up her sweater for Ian.
"Elixir, it can wait. We need to get inside, now. Diesel has healing abilities, so if it's still bad when we get inside, then you can do it. Now, we need to get in, and quietly. Let's move," she said, putting a hand on her charge's shoulder to stop her from tearing her sweater up at that moment. Waving a hand for the students to follow her, she led them to the doors of the castle near where she had first looked in. The doors were still open from when the demons on duty had come out to ambush them, and so entry was easier than she would've thought, although she could've just phased them in if anything.
Shadowkat looked around the entrance area of the castle to see an empty room , bare stone walls, and a deserted table with a couple of chairs. "We should find out what happened with those lightning bolts. They were right over the castle, and I know I wasn't the only one who saw what looked like people along with the lightning. We'll stay here a minute and decide where to go from here," she said, looking around to see at least a couple of doors that had to lead to different places.

The first room they entered was a large guard room. Obviously they didn't want people getting in and this room showed it. It reminded her of when she'd been arrested and put in general population, it was awful. The feelings filled her chest with a sense of dread and she sort of froze for a moment. She stood there transfixed for a moment until all of the others rushed past her, and then for a moment more. Finally snapping out of it at the sound of what she thought was Diesels voice. It was more a sense she had been called then knowing who called her. 'Was that him calling me?' she wondered as she shook her mind free of her past and ran to catch up. She saw that they had gone through the guards room to the courtyard beyond. The Exterior walls of the castle protected a small city of sorts, or at least that was what it looked like to Niki. "Whoa," she whispered "look at this place." It was almost like in Alladin, but Niki would never say how she liked that movie or any Disney cartoon for that matter, but the tents were made of the hides of nasty beasts and the heat of the world had dragged their color into a range of colors most would just call black. On careful inspection one might see something of a hue, but this was no time for inspecting tent fabric. On the very far end of the Courtyard Keep was a raised dais, and there on the platform stood Wolverine and Nightcrawler. Between them a man, no a Demon Man- his name was.... BELASCO He raised his arms as the crowd of demons gathered and a silence fell across the mass of slobbering gibbering creatures. From the two huge stone structures to either side of the raised platform mystical chains shot forth and latched around Logan and Kurt yanking them back and pinning them. They were hanging just out of reach of some of the taller demons in the crowd.. The magik in the chains crackling as they struggled against it. "Uh, now what do we do?" Haven whispered, barely audible above the sound of the cheering that had ensued after the two heroes were bound.

Ian stayed by Haven and looked wide eyed at the scene. It's like the beginning of an insane execution or something, he thought as he heard all the demons cheering. He stared at the creatures for a moment before his mouth dropped open when he saw the two people that were the reason they needed to come here in the first place chained in these crazy strong looking chains. "Holy shit," Ian whispered and his eyes widened in fear.
"Guys, I think we're stuck. There's no way we can get them outta there. Look at all these guys," he whispered as he looked around at all the demons. I can take on only so many, but from the looks of some of these dudes they can rip me to shreds. We can't just sit here and watch these dudes die, Ian said in his head as he looked around helplessly. He hated feeling like he couldn't do anything.
At the moment, the dead lifeless look in Aideen came into his mind when he found her at the lake. Na we gotta help them, I want Spitfire back. If Wolverine comes back, he'll get her back. He wouldn't let her look like a robot thing, he concluded as a more determined look came on his face. He looked over at Kitty with a firm hard look. "Kitty Teach, you were here before. Do you got any idea how we can get to Wolverine and Nightcrawler? Or any plan? Cause I'll do what I gotta do. We gotta get em' outta here," Ian said in a low voice so they wouldn't be noticed. For Spitfire, he said in his head.

Timidly Sara answered Haven and Diesel's questions about what to do with a suggestion. "I would think the first thing we should do is find some nasty animal skin things to wear to hide the fact that we don't quite look the part of demons. I've noticed some of them have the skins wrapped around them like hooded cloaks so you can't see their faces. With that look we might be able to get close to the prisoners...what we would do then, I don't know. There are too many to try to distract I would guess." Immediately after having said it Sara regretted speaking though as the suggestion sounded obvious and really it was Kitty's job to come up with strategy not hers, so she apologized sheepishly. "I'm sorry. That's probably either an obvious idea or a stupid one. I should shut up."

-AND JUST THEN FROM THE SOURCE OF THE COMMOTION...
"AhK! Belasco, you fiend! You unpure und vile despot. Vhat are you talking about?" Kurt's neck strained against the chain that had him tightly around his throat. There was some form of magikal aura surrounding it preventing him from teleporting away. "WHO has been behind all of this? Who is 'she', who?"
It was all he could say as the chains seemed to glow brighter and he strained against them. It appeared as if they were draining away his strength, or his will, or both. Nightcrawler was not done yet, he was brave and experienced, but more-so than that he was the eternal optomist, and full of faith. He knew he would not die in vain, he would make such a stand against this, as if to slow down the very depth of hell's fires and maybe snuff them out. 'Faith can move mountains' he thought.

Looking around at the scattered weapons that leaned against the walls of the guard room, Shadowkat surveyed the room again, and walked slowly to the exit, which led to a courtyard. Outside, but within the castle walls, it looked like almost a little city, and she looked further ahead to see a raised platform, and three men on it. Her eyes widened slightly, for she saw Wolverine and Nightcrawler, and..."Belasco," she whispered in the midst of the noisy demons, who were then silenced. Though she and the students were too far back to be seen, she stayed out in the open only for a second more to see that her fellow comrades were then chained magically.
Moving herself and everyone back into the guard room, she listened to each of their worries. To Diesel and Haven, she said, "We'll have no choice but to find a way to sneak around that hoarde of demons. We'd have to stick to the sides, but we stick out." Then she heard Elixir speak, and shook her head as her charge turned down her own idea. "No, no, Elixir, that's actually a good idea," she said, looking around again to see in a corner some folded skins. "We'll sneak around, but camoflaged. We'll still have to be extremely careful even in disguise, because there's no way just us four could take out that many demons. For now, our main plan is to get to Wolverine and Nightcrawler. What happens when we get to them, I'm not sure, but dealing with Belasco won't be easy," she said, looking at each of them.
Walking over to the corner where the folded skin cloaks were, she could feel the odd textures of each as she picked up four of them. Heading back to the three of them, Shadowkat held out the skins so each could take one. When they did, she kept the last one and shook it open, wrapping it around herself and pulling up the extra large hood. It covered her whole head, and drooped over her face enough so that it would be covered by a shadow, but she'd still see. While she waited for the others to follow suit and get ready to sneak out, she looked out again as she saw Nightcrawler and Wolverine struggling with the magical chains.

"Oh just great, these things stink like burnt poop on a stick. Lovely idea Elixir, just lovely." Haven said as she allowed Kitty's toss of the cloak to help her get her forcefield up under the thing. It was just large enough to cover her and wearing it on the top of her forcefield gave quite a bit of size to her form. This would certainly be a great disguise unless somebody noticed her feet, which were slightly showing and were far too small and delicate to belong to what would otherwise appear to be a creature of some 6 or 7 feet tall and covered in a stinky shroud. "So do we split up? It might look sort of conspicuous if we all just sorta stroll up there in a whispery little group."

Ian's set determined look stayed on his face as he glanced at the two teachers up on the platform. Na we gotta get to them somehow, but not right away, he thought as he formed a plan in his head. "Haven's right. We can't stay separated though. We'll go in two at a time and we can go around the crowd and meet in the center," he said as he threw the smelly skin over him. Good thing Kitty Teach gave me the really big one, he thought as the skin enveloped him completely and hooded his face.
Ian looked at all of them with a hard look, calm and cool as any superhero in the face of crisis. "Kitty Teach, you should take Elixir since you can protect her better than me. I'll go with Haven. You two walk to the left of the crowd and we'll go to the right and meet up in the middle. Make sure to cheer with the crowd and try and blend in," he said adjusting his skin.
"Kitty Teach, you should go first. Me and Haven can go after you," Ian said before looking down at Haven. "You cool with this Haven? We gotta have each other's back and this is serious stuff we're all in," he said looking at the cheering crowd of demons.

"Oh, thanks," Sara said to her Teacher as she took one of the stinking skins from her. As she struggled into the overly large garment she had to suppress a laugh on hearing Haven complain about the smell. Ms. I'm So Tough who had been mocking Sara earlier now wasn't tough enough to even deal with a little stench. Hilarious. She just will never understand, Sara thought. I'm not a coward. I'll get through anything. I just don't want to be pressed into service like a slave. I want to make my own choices.
At the same time, while Sara still did not like the idea of the school essentially using its students as all too unwitting child soldiers she was impressed by her fellow students' spunk and was beginning to trust Kitty a little, so all she said to Haven was, "Yeah, they stink, but it is temporary and I'm not suggesting we bring them back to school as fall's hot new fashion statement."
Finally, hearing Diesel tell Kitty that she should take Sara to protect her, however, made Sara feel kind of bad. So she piped up one last time as she tried to pull a sword off the wall, "I know I'm not terribly useful but I'll try to pull my weight." However, her words were undermined by her efforts to get the sword failing completely as despite yanking on it with all her might she could not get it loose and instead fell onto the floor. Thankfully the huge cloak wrapped around her muffled her fall so it did not create enough noise to attract attention.

Shadowkat looked out at the crowd of demons again while she heard little complaints about the stench of the skin cloaks. Hers smelled too, she just ignored it by focusing on what they had to do next. "I know it smells but you have to deal," she said, her voice hard, turning back to the students. "There's a lot of them out there, all different kinds, so keep that in mind when sneaking around. We'll go with your idea Diesel, Elixir you'll stay with me, Haven, you go with Diesel. I trust you two will work together and not be seen. Elixir, don't worry about it. Right now our goal is to sneak, not fight," she said, remembering the sword she had in one hand when she saw her charge try to get one of her own off a wall.
"Don't try again, ok? We don't want anyone to hear us and blow our cover. You'll be alright Sara, okay? I've got your back," she said, letting her voice soften a little. She knew the girl was trying, and she saw it, and appreciated that she wanted to make an effort to be part of the team, and showed that by moving to offer a hand to help her up.
Once she was up again, Shadowkat's eyes hardened on all of them as she hid the sword she still had under her cloak. "Let's get moving. Elixir and I will go to the left, Diesel, you and Haven go to the right. Like you said, meet up in the middle on the far side. Stay to the sides, don't get caught if you can. I'm trusting you guys," she said, "So I'll see you two on the other side."
And with that, she led Elixir out while she gave the other two an encouraging smile, moving silently and off towards the wall on the furthest left they could go.

"Ladies first Diesel, try and keep up." she nudged him in the side and winked as she stepped forth from the guard room into the great courtyard. The light shining down on her and her stinking cloak showed her to be nothing more than one of the many cloaked demons. She glanced over to watch Shadowkat and Elixir, and for just the very tiniest of moments the look in her eyes was one of worry for the two.
Niki didn't want to admit it and probably never would, but she was concerned for them. She felt that Sara and Kitty would be found out easily and she knew what would happen to them all if they were exposed. She shook her head and turned back to look where she was going. Slinking in a sulky drooped shoulder way she walked around through the tent city picking a path that she hoped would lead the two young mutants out to the far right of the group of demons.
Whispering to Diesel she said "Hey, you know you and me are gonna live through this don'tcha? I don't know about them two, but you and me...yeah, we're gonna make it." She was sure of that much at least.

Ian smiled at Haven a bit, though he didn't know she could see it with his hood on. "We're all gonna make it babe, even them two. We're gonna get Nightcrawler and Wolverine dude outta that. Then we're gonna get outta here and bring them home and everything is gonna be okay. We'll all be away from this, and Spitfire will be okay again. She's gonna have her friend back and then everything will be okay," he said with a determined voice. Every thing's gotta be okay, I can't think another way. For everyone's sake. Spitfire got me to this point cause she's my friend. Now I gotta get this done for my life and everyone else's, Ian thought as he stayed close to Haven.
The crowd started cheering again and Ian nudged Haven as he joined in with the cheering. Making sure the skin still hid his hand from view, he reached out and put one on Haven's side as a sort of reassurance for both her and himself as they slowly made their way down the right of the big cheering crowd.

Following closely behind Shadowkat, Sara tried to keep her head down so that the giant hood draped around her head would not fall back to reveal her face. As a result she could see little other than the ground beneath her feet and the feet of the many demons that they passed as they snaked their way through the crowd.
It was quite an amazing array of feet. There were cracked, yellow bird's feet with razor sharp claws covered with a stinking mixture of caked mud, blood, and pus, protruding from the most unbirdlike of legs covered in thick, matted hair. There were shining hooves like those of horses that managed to remain polished even in the filth of these place. Yet other demons had feet that were some sort of hideous cross between those of a man and the paws of a lion, a tiger, or some other ferocious beast. And all of these feet were stamping in rhythm with the cadence of their leader's speech or pacing as their owners moved forward and back again to release the ferocious energy and bloodlust pent up in their breasts as they waited for their leader's speech to end and the blood letting to begin.
Looking at all these feet brought Sara's attention to her own. They were decidedly out of place. Her feet, tiny compared to those of the demons in the crowd, were encased in small black leather shoes. Nobody else here had shoes and the mud had not yet splattered hers enough to encase their decidedly odd nature, in this place, from prying eyes should anybody deign to look down. The only thing that looked even remotely as out of place as her shoes were her teacher's boots, which were mostly covered in mude except for a left heel that still shone black and clearly leather. A real Achille's heel, Sara thought, before inwardly groaning at her own bad and, given the seriousness of the situation, completely inappropriate joke.
To hide her shoes completely Sara started to dig in the mud with her feet, emulating the pacing movements of one of the demons nearby so that it would not be apparent what she was doing. As she did it she tugged on Shadowkat's arm, below the skin the teacher was wearing so as not to disturb it, in order to get her attention. She then got up on her tippy toes and whispered in her teacher's ear. "Look down and dig your feet into the mud"
Unfortunately, her whispering attracted the attention of somebody nearby who growled at her and proceeded to ask a question in of all languages, Aramaic. What the demon said translated roughly as "Why do you whisper unless you have something to hide?"
Thankfully, Sara remembered some Aramaic from her study of Talmud. Chabad, unlike most Chassidic sects, teaches Talmud to women as well as men and as Aramaic was the spoken language of the Jews at the time most of the Talmud was compiled, with Hebrew remaining a language of prayer and devotion, Sara knew enough Aramaic to answer him, after only a brief pause, in her gruffest voice. "Not all things are to be said openly even here among our kind."
Answering in Aramaic was important as Sara remembered from the Talmud that the reason demons commonly speak to one another in the language is that it is the only tongue that the angels of G-d cannot understand. Thus, a demon will use it to make sure that G-d's angels do not spy on their counsels but also to test to make sure that someone among them is not a spy. Had Sara not quickly understood the question and responded in proper form she and Shadowkat would immediately have been revealed as outsiders. As it was, the demon could still conclude that they were merely humans conversant in his language, but at least there was as good a chance he would pay them no more mind.
So Sara waited, her heart in her throat, until the demon responded, nodding his head and saying "It is good counsel. One never knows who may be listening" and turned away, apparently satisfied that her whispering to Shadowkat was not something that should concern him. They had escaped this time, but from now on Sara knew she should not risk saying anything to her teacher here.

Shadowkat had been leading Elixir stealthily along the side of the large courtyard, moving quietly but at a safe enough pace to not be suspicious. She stopped when she felt a tug on her arm and her head turned quickly to see her charge getting up on her tiptoes to whisper something about her shoes. She tried to give her a face that said 'Shut up!!' but it was too late, for a nearby demon had heard her whisper and spoke in another language. Oh, damnit Elixir! You don't talk to demons! You don't talk at ALL! What the hell made you think it'd be okay?! she thought rather than said as one hand gripped the sword she had hidden under her cloak in readiness for whatever might come as she then heard the girl actually answer him!
Her eyes widened and her mouth dropped open, and with her free hand under the cover of her cloak she grabbed Elixir's arm quickly and began moving again, even though the demon turned away at the answer given to him. Shadowkat knew it'd only be a matter of a few extra seconds before he'd figure out what he let go by. Two seconds later, he looked after them moving away and then started hollering, "HUMANS! HUMANS!" over the cheering. The demons around him heard and looked to the two moving figures. Word spread fast along that side, and the phaser quickly looked back as she could easily see them all watching her and Elixir. The demons began yelling as their slow minds clicked into place and set their sights on the two mutants, and began to go after them.
"Oh damn you all to HELL!" she yelled in the din, realizing the irony but not focusing on it since there was more that mattered, like their lives. Still gripping Elixir's arm, she wasn't about to let go after what had been caused. Their cover had been blown and now they had to try to fend off from themselves and try to quiet it down however they could. She saw a couple dopey looking demons coming after them and stuck out a muddy boot, the first triped over her foot, and the next two tripped over each other. Waiting until she had to use the sword, she kept it hidden as she tried pushing aside the demons in front of her, because now a whole group of them now blocked the way. "Hold your breath!" she yelled to Elixir as she phased them both into the nearby wall that they had been using as a guide and pulled her along for a few seconds before coming out of the wall and unphasing, able to breathe again. Unhappily it only got them around maybe four demons who had blocked their way and only a few feet ahead, but that was better than nothing.

Joining in with the cheering crowd as Diesel had as well, Haven tried to not be too loud or sound too much like a young girl. The cheering seemed to pause just then and she stopped as well. 'Hmmm, old Tabasco up there sure knows how to make a speech' she thought as she looked back to Diesel and rolled her eyes as if to say "What a hot bag of air this guy is." Then it happened.
Without warning the far side of the courtyard erupted into a cacophony of sound. Tents seemed to be uprooted and Demons were crying out "Humans! HUMANS!!! There are Humans here!" Niki knew instantly that Elixir had just screwed the pooch and LOCKED IN A STARTING POSITION ON THE ALL-STAR STUPID ASS SQUAD! Wondering what the picture on her trading card would look like she thought 'Probably that same smug expression as she usually has when she messes up and desperately wants it to be somebody else's fault.'
"Oh, no. Don't tell me..." Haven mouthed the words not making a sound as she looked over to Diesel and slowly shook her head. Without moving her lips she thought 'I am NOT getting eaten alive for that kid's stupidity. These guys are on their own, maybe I can make a deal with big old Tabasco up there' she quickly started conniving and formulating a plan.
