Aideen flew to the end stage, shocked that the demon managed to get a kick in. It all happened in literally a millisecond. Perhaps my training should have included more on battling demon creatures. Her musings danced in her head as she rubbed her tan stomach. She would have a bruise to add to her growing collection. Like always, Aideen floated back up and dusted herself off. She was not one to allow herself to be cast aside like a spec of dust sitting on someone's sweater.
Blazing in flames now, Aideen shot forward like a bullet at the demon with his raised battle axe over the female Captain America's head. The deafening silence was broken by a slightly familiar female voice. Aideen didn't think on it, but when the light just burst out, she was again caught by surprise. She managed to hit the axe with a good impact, but the demon's strong grip didn't let her knock it out of his hand, just move it. It hit Aideen hard though, her shoulder in pain that was blinding her almost as much as the light. Since fire can be very bright, Aideen herself was immune to the brightness of a fire but nothing like this.
She shut her eyes and blindly flew across the stage, hitting the ground and skidding across it with her shut to try and block out the light. She skidded to a stop on the ground hitting someone as she stopped. "Aahh," she cried from the pain of skidding across the hard ground and her throbbing shoulder. Aideen felt slight dizzy as she let her head fall against someone also on the ground. She heard the noise from the people around her, hearing a boy crying not far away from her and hearing the screams from the crowd of demons. Her head dropped to the ground to get herself together and rid the throbbing from her head. At least she could hear again.

Mato knelt in front of the Haven girl as the two strong men held her down. In the silence of the area, he opened his rattle and used his thumb to take bit of the mixture from the rattle. He placed the mixture on her forcefield over her forehead and mouthed a prayer. Though the words were ones that only he heard, Mato did something very unusual. He reached forward to the scared little porcupine that sat on Haven's stomach and touched it. It was a very intimate action that he had only done once before, but he felt a compelling need to save the girl. The affection and love that the boy called Diesel had for her was enough to make him try his hardest. He felt the prickly porcupine needles under his fingertips and he caressed the girl's soul gently. This way her spirit can hear his prayer. Oh, Great Spirit, Whose voice I hear in the winds, And whose breath gives life to all the world, hear me. Bring forth the Spirit from the tormented, Let her find the strength and wisdom to pull through Open up her heart back for her spirit, Great Spirit let her find strength to bring her to light. Let her heart allow the love that surrounds her to give her the strength, Give her the strength not to be greater than our brother, But to fight her greatest enemy- herself, Mato said the prayer, and though no sound was heard, it washed over the little porcupine. He saw the light reflecting from the red that appeared with his closed eyes and heard the noise of the crowd, but that didn't stop him. Mato glowed gold again as his true spirit animal, the great grizzly bear came from him in solid form. With his eyes still closed Mato placed a hand on his bear's paw. He felt his bear reaching out to the little porcupine comfortingly as it guided her back into the light in her heart. Mato repeated the prayer over and over again out loud in a voice of soothing reverence. This girl was a fighter, but she had a loving heart. Mato felt the porcupine under his fingers relax and smiled. The girl would be alright. It was proof that no matter how monstrous a person may be or how lost they are within their own demons, the love that existed in every human being would always prove to be strongest. Mato let go of the porcupine and sat back watching as his spirit connected with the Haven's spirit. Though to others it looked merely like a big bear's muzzle hovering over her stomach, well as they say there is more than meets the eye.

Not for some unknown reason wanting to kill the girl whose fire made her seem all the more familiar, M'kul had only sent her of and away with a good push of a boot to the far side of the stage. Now I seize my rightful place in the history of existence the Master of Weapons thought swinging down with great strength and furious anger at the woman whose uniform had marked her in the demon's mind as the target of a prophecy. The Star Warrior of the legend of an ancient scroll. This is it! thought M'kul and the axe fell without a sound through the stillness of the silent battlefield.
Then a womans voice and a blinding flash of light and M'kul felt an impact on the haft of the axe which threw off the killing blow, if only ever so slightly. Light...ahkkh... so bright! What in the name of - M'kul thought and then the blade of the axe bit hard and deep into flesh and a woman's scream split the air. The blinding flash of light prevented the demon seeing what damage had been done to American Dream, but the solid and deep strike felt good and hearty. Death will be here soon

Flipping on her sunglasses in one slick move, Carol had been about to get up from Hardlight to keep the demons at bay from getting on the stage, however the striking silence that fell on them all left them dumbfounded. She felt her sash unwrapped from her waist to see that the little boy had decided to use it as a makeshift sumo diaper. She’d just have to get another sash when she got out of there; he could have that one, poor thing.
Through her shades she saw that the girl who the files said was Ember was knocked back by the huge dangerous looking demon, and saw as she came back with a vengeance only to be blinded and disoriented by the show that Dazzler put on. Quickly, she covered Hardlight’s eyes as the sound came back, watching the brilliant light show in quick glances so as not to get blinded despite having come prepared. As there was sound again, she spoke low and quickly to the boy, “Close your eyes, it’s too bright to see.” Maintaining a protective stance over Hardlight, HeartString, and the other unconscious, she tried to look around to see what was happening, though she couldn’t see a thing since there was just brightness and color and light.

Shadowkat’s sharp exhale blended in with the silence as Sean tore away from her to run right after Kate. Her eyes flashed to where Ember crashed onto the stage, and then to where Dazzler and Decibel were; they were preparing their attack, and before the whole area would be completely shrouded in the brightest light. As quickly as she could, she ran after Sean to keep him away from the giant demon with the ax to keep him from harm. Just as she managed to grab him and pull him back she closed her eyes and clamped a hand over his so that neither of them would be so very disoriented.
She could see the lights flashing through her eyelids, and as the sound returned she whispered into her charge’s ear to keep his eyes closed. She kept a tighter hold on him though still kept his eyes covered with one hand. For now, all she could do was stand where she was; hopefully she and her young charge were enough out of the way of danger. It was hard to tell though, it was impossible to see. “Just stay with me Sean, stay,” she said to him, squeezing his shoulder. She knew how much he had to want to get to Kate, but she couldn’t afford to possibly lose another student. The last she had checked, Elixir wasn’t doing well at all, and she had a visceral feeling as the thought of Elixir being dead ran through her head.

The silence hadn't bothered him, Logan fought on with all his skill and pressed the battle with each opponent as he cut his way back to the stage in jagged bloody hacks. The light flash was expected, Allison always liked to suck up the sound before a big show, so he was expecting it too. Even if he hadn't been the sheer number of adversaries that surrounded him made his job all the more easy, it was like a harvest for him like killing fields that surged and seethed with danger and he liked it. It had been too long for him. Wolverine had been keeping himself in check for too many years now and he let this be a release for him, he could do his worst here and nobody would mind. Nobody that mattered anyway. He was going to make that demon regret not facing him.
He looked to the stage and saw a gory sight as his vision cleared, his healing factor allowing for the spots before his eyes to fade in less than a second and the color to return to his vision shortly after that. He could see the demon standing there dazed from the light-show and the ax she had been wielding buried in the upper back of the girl with the Captain America suit on. She was standing for a moment and it had obviously been her that screamed. Although as the woman fell to her knees and flopped face first onto the stage Logan looked past the two of them to see Ember as she was in a heap on the stage. Aw kid, what happened? hang on I'm comin' he thought

Iron Man's blinding shield was strong, but even the fact that he was an engineering genius he still couldn't develop the technology to withstand the blinding light that Dazzler delivered. He closed his eyes for a moment and waited for the light to pass. It was then that everything happened at once. He saw Dream go down, Ember crash take a hard crash on the stage in attempt to get rid of the demon's blow, Wolverine reappear barreling through the crowd, the demons walking into each other and falling over each other from the effects of Dazzler's powerful light.
"Now for a little clean-up. Beast, Copy. We got a bit of a problem. Emma is cracked and I don't think she can hold it together much longer," he said into his communicator and began clearing the demons around Emma and the two students with his blasts. He glanced over at the stage to see the action and may sure he wasn't needed. Ember lay in a limp heap on the ground by Cyclops, the fire gone out of her body and nothing remained but a limp heap of a young woman. He saw the lifeless body of another girl nearby and Ms.Marvel was holding the young boy she saved from earlier. Aw... Dream you came here just to get yourself killed? Not the kind of action I would think could save the future, he thought with a bit of sadness. Though he didn't know the girl well, she did remind Tony of a very close and special friend.
He blasted away another pile of demons near Emma. "Ironclad, how's Emma doing? Report now!" Tony yelled into the communicator as he kept the area clear of the demons that were tripping over each other.

Breathing rhythmically, Lorelai slowly but surely calmed down, as did her mind. She allowed herself to look up long enough to see Ian and Thor holding Haven down while TrueSpirit did his ritual. It was very interesting to see a big brown bear standing over her and having its nose hover over her stomach. She hoped it worked, and when it all went bright, Lorelai recoiled quickly with a cringe and a now audible hiss. She squeezed her eyes shut and curled back up again, her hands clutching her head to hold it down. “Too bright, damnit, what’s going on?” she muttered to both herself and whoever heard her.
She grumbled as she tried to make her eyes stop hurting and wished even more that they were all out of there. What she wouldn’t give to be back at school and go outside in the cold and the snow, and spend time with Ian after this whole ordeal. It was too hot, she was beyond tired, plenty exhausted, and wished there was more she could do than just sit where she was and just wait everything out. At least now, she was more focused on thinking of what she wanted rather than being scared shitless of having been down there in that massive horde of demons.

Haven struggled fighting against herself as the spell to cleanse her soul took effect. She was still in there, TrueSpirit was correct, she had to make a choice though. In all of her life she had never know kindness until it was too late. Now, in this, the eleventh hour as is were, she opened her eyes to the idea and saw the light. Dazzler's effect of light and the magics of the Native American boy showed her mind and her spirit more. By shunting the visuals she could no longer see the sins of those who held her and could not be influenced by them, tempted as demons were, to tempt others or to hurt them instinctively. She was only now just a girl struggling with her inner demons and as the lights popping in her eyes dimmed and her vision returned she saw a giant bear before her and felt that things would be alright if only she trusted and believed in those around her as much as they believed in her. She had followed the light, and come back into her own heart. It was not a perfect heart and she was not a sainted angel now, as she had been far from that to begin with, but she was again herself. It had been a hard struggle as internal struggles always were, but she seemed to wake as if from a great fever dream looking around at everything before her. Her friends, the bear, a God and ten thousand demons below, and on the stage her dear friend Ember and a terrible demon standing ready to kill all before it. Looking more carefully she saw something strange as the creature reached up and removed it's helmet. She saw her own face. It was her, that was what she would have become, and as she was now, not intending to continue to that end she watched gasping. "That- that was ...that was me..." and the monster that was her future self dissolved away in the vapors and flames of the hot wind of Limbo.

All had not been well during the time when there was no sound, but the silence did keep her situation from worsening. The instant that Dazzler released the flash of blinding light and the scintillating follow through of dancing strobes Emma knew she was done for. As the sound returned and a woman's scream split the air the sound of it split the Headmistress even more. 'Oh god this is gonna hurt' she thought and before she would allow herself to fragment into a billion tiny shards she took a gamble and changed back to her flesh form. "AAAAaaaggGGGGKKKKkkk!!!!!" She cried out and collapsed down face first, a puddle of blood flowing out of her left eye and soaking into the sandy ground of Limbo.

This was all a bit too much for K'8. To learn she was this older woman, and somehow she knew. Being in her presence brought a lot of things into focus. When the woman touched her she knew she was home. She knew also that she had family here, that her father was Belasco, she could almost see the resemblance as she looked up into the sky at him. Then all the sound went away and in her mind a million thoughts swirled. How could this happen? Does mom know? No wonder she was so sickly, did my birth have some kind of effect on her? Did I make her die? Did my...Father? How could she love him? Did she love him? Was she raped? Am I some sick freaky Demon Lord's illegitimate offspring? She thought all these things as unknown to her an American Icon from a future time was rushing to end all of those questions. When the sound came back and a flash seemed to light up the sky it was if she was not quite there, she was inside of a bubble of darkness, of dark protection, and it shielded her . Shielded both the hers that stood looking at one another. The whispering of the older woman in the language she didn't understand was annoying and yet she now realized as some metal disks both small and large slammed into their shield, that the older her had been whispering that whole time. It was odd how her whispers sounded, more inside her own head like when the whole team of mutants had been hearing each other's thoughts. 'Oh my god I'm BRAINWASHING myself!?!' she realized almost too late, as a scream shook her from the spell, it broke the spell and the anointing.... was undone. Looking over as she pulled her arm away from her older self with a scowl, she saw the woman fall to the stage next to her and behind her the one who had killed the beauty in red white and blue. As the monster removed it's helmet she saw the face of the girl who had planted the bombs, the one who had sent them all here on this terrible ordeal. The one who had left her with a scar on her cheek from the bottle she'd broken... 'Haven!?! What the-' Then the moment of realization was proceeded by the girl fading away in whisps with the wind. "No WAY! No way I'm doing this! I AM NOT gonna end up hurting all my friends and becoming YOU!" she said turning back to the woman who held the Soulsword in her hand. Raising Up her own sword in a defensive stance the little New Mutant snarled at her older form.

The second he got Beast's order, Iron Man flew over to HeartString and scooped her up in his arms. "We got an emergency HeartString. Don't worry you'll be well protected," he said to her as he flew her in front of the Former White Queen in a unfavorable condition. "Help her HeartString," he said before he flew to the air. "Ms. Marvel, Copy. Grab the little boy and Cyclops. You know where the Portal is, and then come back for the next group. Gang, we're going home," Tony said in the communicator. The battle was finished, that much was obvious. The demons in the crowd were still extremely distressed from the show the Dazzler and Decibel put on, and the two demons that we're the biggest threat were done. These kids really are our future, and I'm kinda looking forward to it, he thought as he flew to the West Wall. "Good to see you back, Haven," Iron Man said to the now whole girl he saw with the group. "Thor we're going home. I'm taking this group first.. TrueSpirit, great job. I never understood the mystic mumbo jumbo like Forge does, but I know a well put effort when I see it. I'll take this little couple right here," he said and scooped up Frostbite and Diesel. "TrueSpirit, follow me with Haven on that giant bird of yours. We're gonna get these guys home," he said and with Diesel in one arm and Frostbite in the other, Thor flew with the TrueSpirit right behind him to the Portal on the high guard wall.
"Forge, activate the portal. Be ready to take this group," Tony said. When the portal opened up for them to be able to pass, Iron Man put the two of them down. "Just go right on through, Beast and Forge will be there," he instructed to both the couple and TrueSpirit and Haven. He patted TrueSpirit's shoulder, proud of the boy as he flew to check on Emma.

"Uh, WhOOoa.." Hearstring said as she had been scooped up and flown over to heal Emma. "Oh god she's not good at all! Got it, I'll have her up in a minute." 'I hope' Tracy knelt down and layed her healing hands on the Headmistress of the Academy. Surging out through her the healing power she was gifted with enabled her to knit Emma back together again and stop the bloodflow.
"Alright, she's healed now, but she's lost a lot of blood. I know she'll be alright if we can get her some." she spoke into the comm device "BEAST? Emma's in bad shape we're gonna need some blood cause she feels about a quart low at least, I'm gonna keep a hold on her, but she's not stabilized yet. What about Cyclops and American Dream, and Ember? We gotta get outta here Belasco is lookin mad as hell." she said as she just noticed that the Demon Lord of Limbo saw what was going on and was reacting in a rather unfavorable way.

The bright lights faded and Carol grinned as all the demons were stunned frozen. “On it, Iron Man. Let’s get these guys outta here,” she answered into her communicator with a hint of a grin. Stepping away from Hardlight, she went over to Cyclops and picked him up, wrapping an arm around his waist and supporting him, noting that the girl whose files said she was Ember laid just nearby. She went back to the little boy and wrapped her other arm around his waist and flew upward. “We’re going home guys, it’s gonna be okay,” she said to them both, flying up and up towards the portal, looking around to see the other flying Avengers picking up the others.
After Iron Man dropped off the first two to get out of Limbo, she moved and flew in, putting Hardlight down and then laying Cyclops gently on the floor out of the way of others. She flashed Beast and Forge a quick half smile, half frown and then went back through the portal.
Flying quickly back towards the stage, Ms. Marvel headed for Shadowkat and the boy named TuneUp. Coming up behind them she grabbed them both with each arm and held them securely as she flew them up to where the portal was and set them down. “Alright guys, in you go,” she told them giving a small smile and a nod. Turning around, her eyes scanned for the next person she could pick up and get out of there.

Hacking past the last demons and leaping onto the stage Logan saw Ms.Marvel return on her second trip. As the young girl faced off against her older self to the side of the stage he saw the firebender, his drinking buddy, unconscious. He grabbed her up tossing her limp body across his back in a fireman's carry. Intending to give D'mnchyld a bit of a hand he hesitated and thought it more important that the girl claim her life. He waited and watched a moment more before Ms.Marvel returned to the stage. "I got this one, grab the little one and lets get home. Looks like you guys got here just in time. Hey Carol," he said to his old friend "good to see ya."
He rushed to the stairs where Dazzler and Decibel were now just turning to climb to the top of the wall and the portal home.
