Lorelai had gotten up and taken a shower to wake up, happy that it was a morning where there was Drama, which meant that it was free time for her. She wasn’t one for acting out plays; she preferred reading them and watching them. As much as she loved winter, it was now March and it was starting to get nice out again. That meant that she could start skating again, which made her happy. She had to dig out her skateboard from under everything in her closet and grabbed her little tools to tighten the trucks on them since it had been sitting around for months and to keep up on them.
She threw on some of her clothes, a pair of olive green cargo pants, a white DC shirt with cool light blue writing on the front and grabbed her beloved pair of black and white Etnies. It may not have been considered fashionable to fashion slaves, but she honestly didn’t really care for the most part. It was she liked, she was comfortable in it and she fit in with other skater punk people so it worked. It was in essence…her, and she went into a drawer to pull out a wristband with her favorite band’s logo on it. Lorelai pulled her hair back into a ponytail and grabbed her iPod. All she had to do now was just fix her trucks and she could go outside.
Once she did, she stuffed her iPod into her pocket, got her board and headed outside. Over the past two months the snow had come and faded away, and she missed it since it was comforting and awesome. She had broken up with Ian within days of getting back from Limbo. She didn't want to do it but she didn't want to give him the chance to do it again, and she hated to admit there were still lingering feelings there for him. Haven she had a strong dislike for, and it made team practices not-fun as it was obvious to see they were all over each other, and Lorelai would be cold to both of them. This time span, however, was good since she didn’t want to focus on boys as much, and she wanted to learn to fight so she wouldn’t have to rely on solely her powers. Limbo was a wakeup call for that, and she hated feeling useless, and so she had been making sure to pay attention in her phys ed classes.
Having finally gotten outside, Lorelai put in her earbuds and turned on the music, her iPod securely in her pocket. The snow in the courtyard was for the most part gone since the weather had been kind, but whatever was left she just swept away with a flick of her wrist. She hopped on her board and started out skating around the statue, weaving around and getting reacquainted with her board before she started doing tricks. She had started skateboarding when she was 15 and had wanted to try it out for a while. It ended up sticking with her and she liked it a lot. She was pretty good at it too. Tripled Manic State came on and she nodded her head as she skated to one of the edges that went around the large courtyard and started a 5-0 grind and worked to keep her balance. Skating was fun but it took practice and tolerance for falling on your ass a lot.

Tia wasn't much in the mood for drama class - who cared about drama? It was pretty much pointless and unnessesary, even though she knew Veronika and most of her team would be there... it just wasn't worth it. Drama was just... well frustrating. Who cared if someone could act or not? What was wrong with just... being yourself? Tia shrugged the thought off, she was headed towards the courtyard, probably just sit around for a while. Winter was dawning, and Spring was at its peak.
It was generally quite surprising, how she'd gotten so close to Veronika in the past month or two, Tia'd never gotten this close to anyone. But then again, no one had ever bothered that much with Tia either. To be fairly honest, she'd gotten pretty close to her team, even though she hadn't realised it, she relied upon them a lot more, than she'd ever relied upon anyone. This felt almost dream-like to one like Tia. As if any minute it could all just shatter, and be lost. But while it was there, it was probably the best thing that'd ever happened to her.
Tia walked out the mansion door, dressed in army combat trousers with a forest green tank top on. She had her iPod plugged in her ear, and she'd put it on shuffle. All i hear - Kate Alexa Tia rolled her eyes at the song. She placed her eyes on her trainers, before she started walking down the sidewalk, her iPod loud enough to block out all the sounds from around her. She was more or less dazed as she walked down.

Tripled manic state, resonating through me, doctors horrified all still unsatisfied, Lorelai sang in her head as she went a few feet into the grind before getting off her board otherwise she would've fallen. Regaining her footing she jumped back on her board and went at it again to push for a little bit longer, biting her lip as she ignored the lyrics and leaned more on her back leg to get more out of it. She came out of the grind still on her board and leaned to one side to turn to do some jumps when she saw Tia walking down the opposite sidewalk.
She grinned and gave one big push with her foot, propelling her across the courtyard to the other side to get to her friend. Lorelai and Tia were pretty cool; the night of the party Lorelai hadn't been done crying so she cried in her room, and when she went to wash her face she found Tia washing her own face. She seemed awkward when she tried to be nice by trying to comfort her, but it still worked somehow and since they would sometimes talk at night while chilling in one of their rooms. Lorelai liked her, especially her take on Drama class.
She trailed parallel to Tia for a second before poking her arm to get her attention as she too was tuning out the world and pulled out an earbud so she could hear herself. "Going for a walk there Tia?" she asked with a grin, stepping off her board as it rolled to a stop and popping it up with her foot. "And you didn't even look up and say hi," she teased lightly, getting on the sidewalk and turning her music down low.

One moment, Tia was walking down the sidewalk, The next, she had a blue haired monster poking her arm and complaining. Tia rolled her eyes, as she turned her music down. "What did you just say?" she muttered feebly, blinking at the older student, a small smile creeping up on her lips. It was rather odd with Lorelai; they'd bonded due to washing their faces. Odd. Yes. But that's sorta how it went. Tia was brushing her teeth in the girls washroom, and was just about to leave, when Lorelai came in, with tears running down her face.
Tia'd decided this was time to start trying to be nice. She couldn't just walk out on someone who was crying. That was just rude. Even for Tia. Tia'd started trying to comfort her in a rather ackward way, with her short sarcastic cut off lines, and blah, and weirdly enough, it seemed to cheer Lorelai up. Tia assumed it was probably a different approach. But since then on they'd been pretty close. Occasionally spending nights in each others room chatting away. It was quite odd in a way seeing Lorelai was what... seventeen? And Tia just thirteen. But sometimes, you needed to age gap, to actually get a totally different point of view.
"You really need to stop poking me, I probably have a million bruises by now." Tia added, narrowing her eyes playfully. [/blockquote]

Lorelai sighed with a smirk and shook her head. "Nothing, nothing," she said with a laugh. One thing she liked about Tia was she was the same with her music- she turned it up and tuned everything out. Life was good that way, unless of course someone was trying to talk to you, but Lorelai was used to it with her. Hearing her complain she laughed out loud. "Oh stop, you can't be that delicate, and I poke once every five seconds. I've counted," she said, and then pursed her lips playfully. "And I don't even poke that hard," she said with a little pout that turned into a smirk.
"Decided to go for a walk, I see. Anywhere specific?" Lorelai asked, balancing her board on its tail with a finger as her hand hovered over her pocketed iPod. Tia sometimes reminded her of how much older she was, being four years younger than her. Now that Aideen had moved up to the Corsairs she was the only seventeen year old left and it meant that she was older than the rest of the people in her level. She didn't know how she felt about that, but she didn't hold prejudice about age. If they got along, that was good enough for her; she wasn't picky.

Tia rolled her eyes at frostbite. "Lets suppose I spend upto five hours a day with you, thats... eighteen thousand seconds, which divided by five would be three thousand six hundred. So basically you poke three thousand and six hundred times a day, and you think that's not gonna leave bruises?" Being good at maths was the only edge Tia ever claimed, and it was always amusing rambling on with numbers. "But i've survived so far, guess i'll just have to live, eh?" she rolled her eyes - she wasn't this free with anyone, well, with the exception of Veronika.
"And Nope. My legs are carrying me places." she smiled, "I see you're skating. Going anywhere in particular?" Tia's smile streched. She unplugged her ipod from her ears, and paused the music. It was obvious she was gonna be here with Lorelai for a while now, no point wasting the battery. She put her iPod to sleep, before slipping it in her pocket. Tia looked up at Lorelai, she was so... open, free. With everyone. She could control her emotions so damn well. Tia could only wish to ever be as social as her. Not that she wanted to - but she'd started feeling a lot more... accepted, since she'd made a couple of friends. Lorelai must feel over the moon, with the amount of friends she had.
Tia shrugged the thought off, she didn't like comparing herself to others, just made her feel all closed and depressed. "So, hows your powers comming round?" Tia inquired, "Has Miss Ice Queen found any new ways to manipulate it?" Tia let out a small cough laugh.

Lorelai heard the whole slew of calculations and for a second thought that one eye was kind of twitching. Math was one of the classes she wasn’t too much of a fan of. It didn’t mean she wasn’t good at it, but she just didn’t like it, she preferred most non-mathematical things. She narrowed an eye at Tia but was unable to help smiling. “No, poking is primarily to get your attention, and however long you take to answer me is how long you get pokes for. And if it takes you five hours then there’s something wrong with you,” she said, laughing as she started walking a little, having picked up her board and kept along the sidewalk.
“Nah, I’m not going anywhere in particular. The courtyard is just kinda good to skate in, so I was figuring I’d stay in this general area, but I’ll walk with you, I don’t mind,” she said with a shrug. She got on one side of Tia so she could hear her since it was a bad habit of hers to always have one earbud in her ear constantly listening to music. When Tia asked how her power was coming around, Lorelai couldn’t help grinning a little. “Yes she has, now she can have fists of ice,” she said with a smirk. “Well, not totally, but it's a start though. Just like a good sheen of ice over my fists that make them that much harder and as long as I keep them cold they’ll work. Iceman’s frigging awesome, he’s been giving me ideas of what to do and try out and stuff. I love that class,” she said, grinning. I sorta like Iceman, he’s hot in that cool way, and he has my powers too, heh…but his class is a lot of fun. “What about you? Can you blow someone away yet?” she asked, her grin turning into a smirk. Lorelai thought having powers to control the wind was completely awesome and thought the idea of blowing someone away, especially someone you didn’t like, was a funny idea.

"That's brilliant!" Tia exclaimed as Lorelati explained about her ice fists. That'd be quite good, having ice on your fists, you could probably break someones nose pretty easily. Tia pictuered herself with fists of ice, punching calorie. Goodness me, was that a good image. She still hadn't gotten over her dislike for Calorie, it was just turning worse by the day. Something about the guy annoyed every nerve of hers, she could probably punch and kick him till the day he died, and then laugh at his dead body... okay, time to stop. This was getting quite sadistic.
"Me?" Tia muttered, rather startled by Lorelai asking her. Tia didn't like talking about herself too much, it made her feel odd, so to keep things short, she muttered, "I've always been able to blow people away... when i'm pissed off." she managed a small grin, "But nah, don't yet have proper control over it, though I have been doing research over Wind Dancer, seeing we have similar powers, y'know? Apparently, I can evesdrop and fly too... I'm gonna attend Rogue's class, see if I can manage it." She smiled, before sneakily steering the subject back towards Lorelai, "Though, the ice fist thing is quite cool y'know - maybe it'll turn into snow. Then you really will be my Frosty!"
Tia stuck her tongue out, just out of adorance, she called Lorelai her Frosty the Snowman. It linked both, to her name and her power. Just to annoy Lorelai a little, Tia began humming forsty the snowman under her breath, loud enough for frostbite to hear. "... with a cornob pipe and a button nose, and two eyes made of coal... laaa laaa la laa la," she trailed it off to an end, before slipping her hands in her front pockets, "Did you know, if you got mad enough, you could freeze me inside an ice block?" Tia muttered, trying to be cheeky, her tone didn't really give anything away though, it was its usual dead self.

“That works, you totally should. And I bet you can, just try is all,” Lorelai said, inhaling as a cool breeze blew by their faces. “You should try it now, there’s a bre-“ she said before ice fists were brought up again and then a low rendition of Frosty the Snowman. She rolled her eyes at Tia let out a sigh. “That’s going to get old you know,” she said with a little smirk and shook her head. She was used to it by now, but being called a snowman was just not cool especially since she had yet to pass off as a snowman- snowwoman. “Did you know that I don’t have to be mad enough?” she asked with her small smirk, the question being a brief reminder of how she had been able to encase a demon of blue fire in a block of ice and kill it. Maybe just scared enough, or crazy enough but not just only mad enough, she thought for a second before grinning. “But why would I do that? I like you,” she said, making an odd face before shaking her head again.
She stepped off the sidewalk and got on her board. “Come on, blow me away to the other side. Just try it at least. It ought to be interesting,” Lorelai said, looking to Tia with a grin. She knew how to handle herself on her board well enough and knew when to jump off. That and she trusted Tia enough to try.

Tia rolled her eyes at Lorelai, "You really don't know how to play along do you?" she muttered, shaking her head. "You're supposed to pretend to be all mad and say you will freeze me inside an ice block - gives us something to laugh over." Tia rolled her eyes - being around Allure, had given her a bit of a sense of humour. "Aw well, there's always a next time." she dramatically sighed. A smile streched across Tia's face, but no sooner had it come, did it go away as well.
Lorelai had steered the topic back towards her and her powers. Tia'd chosen to act like she'd never said anything before, to hint it was the end of the conversation, she really really, did not like being put on the spotlight. Around people or not. It just... felt so damn ackward. "I'd really rather not Frosty," Tia muttered, Lorelai's nickname comming naturally to her lips, "I can't do it. Especially unsupervised. What if I hurt you, what if things get out of hand? The wind's dangerous." Tia nodded, her dead tone listing off all the reasons to why she shouldn't try tossing Lorelai in the air right now.
"Oh look, flowers! Sign of spring!" Tia tried her best to sound cheery, but her dead tone refused to budge. If truth be told, Tia couldn't care less if flowers lived or died, but right now, she was just trying to get the conversation off her, and flowers seemed to be the only thing that wanted to come into Tia's notice at this point of time. "Well, they're actually just buds, but don't you think... uh, they'll grow into...uh, very pretty flowers?"

Lorelai’s mouth twitched into a partial smile at remembering that it was supposed to be a joke. “Sorry, yeah next time,” she said with a laugh. Sometimes she found she was a little more serious when it came to things like talking about encasing people in ice even in jest. It just reminded her of stuff having to do with Limbo that she didn’t want to think about. It was weird for her, but she normally got out of thinking about it.
“Alright, alright ok,” she said, putting a hand up in the air as if in surrender and then laughed a little at her sudden subject change. Lorelai could see Tia didn’t like being focused on, but she still liked to try from time to time since it would help her be better. She got to see a lighter side of Tia that not a lot of people got to see and she wanted her to be open with more people. She wouldn’t push her though, maybe just give little nudges here and there. “Yeah,” she said, ollieing up onto the sidewalk and skating ahead to where there was a patch of flowers starting to bud to get a closer look. It was then she was reminded of the memorial garden where Colossus had been starting to teach her how to tend to the roses and how it was best for her not to touch them without gloves on. “Yeah look this one’s purple, I think,” she said, looking at one and then at Tia.
She remembered herself and grinned a little, and skated back, knowing it was just something else to talk about besides her. “So how nice will the flowers be when they finish growing?” she asked, smirking now as she went along with it, wondering how far Tia would take it. It was a little amusing to do it because it was so random, but it worked.

Tia smiled at Frostbite as she admitted defeat. "I win." she mused, her voice still dead, though her smile adding a slightley more cheery effect to the words. "I always win," she added, with a small wink before turning around and beginning to back walk. As they passed a flower, Lorelai started speaking about it. This wasn't something Frosty should be going along with! Did the girl never learn!? Or was she just doing this to tease Tempest? Probably the latter, Lorelai was too smart to not get it. Tia rolled her eyes, sighing before raising her hands in the air.
"Okay, okay... I did it to cut the convo." Tempest rolled her eyes, "Can we... er, not talk about the flower? I really... couldn't care less." she shook her head, before slipping her hands in her pockets. Despite the fact she hated being on the spotlight, and what not, something just floated into Tia's mind. Lorelai was an older student... she was nearly one of the seniors... maybe if she helped Tia train her powers, and feel more confident... Tia wouldn't have to be so embarrased, and scared in lessons, and training. Tia bit her lip, as she turned around to face forwards again, her concentration obvious on her face.
"Uh.. Frosty," Tia mumbled, as she turned around on the spot, and walked backwards, kneeling by the purple flower, and grabbing a rock from the earth beneath it. She walk-jogged back to Lorelai, before a nervous, rather uncertain expression lit her face. "Erm, this feels odd," she paused, "and I feel quite stupid, but..." she bit her lip, again - if she did it a couple more times on the same spot, she'd probably cause it to bleed. "Um, any chance you could help me out a bit?" Tia's eyebrows rose up, her eyes weary. "I'm still quite hopeless with control over my powers - um, you're nearly a senior, any chance you could... help me out with my concentration and stuff?"
Tia combed her fingers through her fringe, "I wanna see if I can get the rock to float..." she muttered, an uncertain smile touching her lips.

Lorelai continued smirking, especially when Tia cracked. She laughed and nodded, “Yeah I know you couldn’t, just wanted to see how far you’d take it,” she said grinning. When she heard her mumble Lorelai tilted her head slightly and let her grin softened as Tia came back with an almost nervous expression on her face. She waited for her to speak before asking what was up and saw the rock in her hand. When she got the question out Lorelai nodded with a smile. “Sure, I don’t mind at all. Come on,” she said, sitting down on one of the large tiles that comprised of the central courtyard, her board where she left it on the sidewalk. She patted the tile across from her and crossed her legs.
When Tia sat down, Lorelai took a deep breath of the air. It smelled nice and still had traces of cold in it, and it had a calming effect on her. “With concentration, you just have to make sure you don’t let yourself get distracted. It helps to close your eyes and focus on the task at hand,” she explained, telling her the way she did it when in team practice. “And what I do when I use my powers is I will ice to do what I want. You should try that if you want to get the rock to float,” she suggested, thinking that was what she would do. She laid her hands in her lap and formed a snowball in her hands. It was a perfect circle, and then as she kept her hands on it she turned it into solid ice. “See? I want it to be done, I will it, so it is. Watch, it’s gonna turn into a…doughnut,” she said, and in a minute, it flattened out slightly and there was a hole in the middle.
“It gets easier with practice,” she explained, and then put the ice-nut on the ground. “Try willing the wind to lift up the rock or something. However it works for you, this is just what works for me,” she said, and then waited for Tia to try.

Tia took a deep breath, as she nodded towards Lorelai as she comforted Tia with tips and peices of advice. It felt a lot easier to relax when you were with someone you knew quite well, and who you knew you could trust. Tia did relax during training sessions around the teachers and stuff, and try to concentrate, but it was never that good. She always had that little bit inside her head, screaming at her, all scared and nervous. She sighed, as Frosty tossed the rock towards her. Tia's face was blank, emotionless, as she took the rock and placed it on her palm.
Concentration is the key, you rule the wind! Concentrate Tia.. concentrate... Tia bit her lip, as she stared at the rock, her mind was wavering, she tried to imagine the rock floating up, picture it happening in front of her... maybe that would help? Tia bit the inside of her lip, without realising she was doing so, she stared hard at the rock, continuing to imagine it floating up in the air. Ten seconds... fifteen... twenty. No luck. Tia sighed, before shutting her eyes tight and gritting her teeth. "I'm hopless!" she stuttered feebly, she sighed before looking at Frosty, her face seemed to be quite reassuring to one like Tia.
Tia looked back at the rock, this time planning on trying a different technique, the whole picturing thing wasn't working out too well. Maybe... if she tried to do what Lorelai had suggested, try to command the wind. Make it bend. This time, Tia applied her concentration on the wind instead the rock. She could feel it moving from her left to her right, she tried to use her mind to direct the wind towards the rock, to lift it up. Ten seconds... twenty seconds... the rock stumbled up in the air, and hovered for roughly five seconds before dropping back in her palm. Tia blinked at the rock, before turning her head to look up at Lorelai. "Did I do that?"

Lorelai watched as Tia tried once, and saw that it didn’t work. When she gave up on that, Lorelai shook her head. “No you’re not, just try again,” she said and smiled at her. As Tia tried again, her smile grew bigger as she saw her lift the rock into the air for a good bit. “Yes! You did!” she answered happily, clapping her hands for Tia. “Well done! See? That’s all it takes to do it and if you keep up on it you’ll be just fine. Go ahead, try it again and then mix it up, like have it go off to the side or something,” she suggested. Using powers was fun and learning how to do it was fun, Lorelai always liked it and loved seeing what new things she could push herself to do and how much she could expand on it. She liked it just as much as reading, listening to music, or skating. If she could help Tia get better at working her power then that would be pretty cool.
