Out of breath from running Katana came half staggering into the gym class. When she finally got there she breathed out a sigh of relief as she had made it on time. Thank goodness, Wolverine won't kill me. I'm failing for being late so I don't think he would have listened to any excuse, not even a good one. And she had a good one this time. When Nightcrawler took her to see Ms. Frost after the fiasco in drama class, she had broken down and been very honest with the headmistress.
To her great surprise instead of a slew of punishments, well really in addition to some punishments, the headmistress had offered her tea and finger sandwiches, a shoulder to cry on, and counseling sessions twice a week. This just might work. But I really have to try. I have to use that little journal Ms. Frost gave me, instead of blowing up at people. Emma had told Katana that every time she started to feel angry or overwhelmed instead of screaming her thoughts out and throwing a fit, she should write all that vitriol down in a little journal to get it out in a non-disruptive fashion. She had actually suggested the idea two months ago, but Katana had been too proud and too pig headed to listen then. Now she was seriously committed to trying. That and the breathing exercises that the headmistress had told her to do. It would be hard. It would take time, but for the first time Katana was seriously committed to it.
Embarrassed by hear tantrum in drama class, Katana smiled weakly to her teammates as the Paragons met up and apologized again. "I'm sorry, guys. I'll make it up to you...really.," she said. Then she put her mind to the task at hand. She was going to do her best to wow her team and Wolverine today. Not by being a tremendous athlete, but by actual following instructions!

It was a funny thing to do this whole team formation stuff. Every time they all got together for a big meeting, or gym class or assembly it was usually the same thing as K'8 took note. It seemed to her each team, whether they were officially appointed or not, had a leader- a Captain. Ironclad and Inflict were known to be their team's leaders but it was like the other teams all had their own too.
Her team didn't officially have a leader it was true, but like the Acolytes had Diesel who sort of looked out for them The New Mutants had Riff~Raff and he was pretty good at it. Sean was still her one and only, and he was a guy she would follow to the ends of the earth and into other dimensions as she had, but Riker had that pack mentality from being one of the 'wolfkin' and his sister and he really had made their team feel like a well looked after tribe, like more than just a team but a family. Things were shaping up for the once mocked team of misfits and n'ere-do-wells...the New Mutants were a tight group...for the most part.

Sky glared at Chase playfully and gave him a last punch in the stomach. "You are such as ass. I can't believe you took the last burger from me," she whined and kicked her foot back to literally kick his ass. Chase was hands down one of her best friends, and him, Lian and her had a blast together. They used to start food fights all the time, mainly because Chase wanted to throw shit at Katana and then covered it up by throwing something at her or Lian. After they started four food fights in the span of three days, they got a talking to with Emma and Nightcrawler about wasting food.
"You're not one to talk about going on a diet fatso," Sky said punching Chase's hard stomach. She took awhile to get herself into formation cause Sky HATED gym class. She liked sports but she hated all the running and exercises and stupid stretching formations. "Mmmeeehhh, I don't wanna do this!" she whined and got into a sloppy lazy form.
Her eyes rolled hard when Katana came up. She really didn't give a damn anymore and gave up trying. That fact that even at a Boarding school, where it feels like a lot of time passed in a short time because they all saw each other 24/7, at the girl still refused to even attempt to be cool with the team. Sky held the other members on the team tight to her, and she was tired of Katana being a bitch to the people she was supposed to stick with. "Whatever, just get in line," Sky said before exchanging a look with Chase.

Kelly got into formation throwing his usual glare at Mason's words. He did however realize how pissed off his team captain was so he figured he'd cool it a bit for the moment. Kelly's eyes went a bit wide when he heard what Brock was practically screaming outside. "Man, even I'm not that dumb. Say what you want about me guys, but at least I'm not dumb enough to push it like that," Kelly said out loud.
Sheesh, I may not get it a lot but COME ON! Wolverine is right there and Aideen is like his favorite cause she's a hot ninja fire girl and she kicks ass. And I know Mason's got some kinda gun on him, he always does. I need to remember to duck soon, Kelly thought as he got into formation to not agitate Mason more. That guy was scary sometimes, especially now. He did have good taste in women though.

"Rumbleman, chill. If you don't quit whining about it I'm gonna be hard pressed to get you some paybacks. Looks we all know those pussy Corsairs need to gang up on us, and you got yourself caught out there so let me handle it now." His red rimmed eyes looked over at the guy who had now taken the position vacated by Decibel as 2nd in command in the field training. He was confident that Brock could handle it, at least he was until this thing with this young fire girl got the guy all twisted up.
"What the freak anyway that bitch is like a snotty little cunt, what the hell do you see in her anyway, she's a goddamn kid yea? Just want what she says you can't have? Well, hey if you want it and it's gonna freak you up till you get it then I guess we better get you some of that huh?" He grinned a snide grin and then looked at his girl with a ravenous look. Thinking of Brock putting a hurt on the youngest female Corsair was starting to turn him on and he showed the 'want for some' to Machete in a wink.
"Move over? Who me?" Norrison said to Rose. "Hold up, I'm the keystone babe" He looked at Stoney, Shade, and Rumble to make them all move as he held his ground expecting Rose to move along with the rest of them. "..Team..cover down, align...let's get this bullshit freakin over with so we can go and stomp some Corsair ass!" He was in no mood to play today.

Now that Ricki was fully fed, she reackoned she could probably concentrate in Gym. She was dressed in the same clothes as before, which she realised might be a problem after she reached class. Just incase she accidently used her powers, she didn't really wan't her clothes ripping up. That would just be... well, stupidly embarrasing. She shook the thought of - think positive Ricki, - Her eyes moved over towards her Team Mates as she watched Ian take point for the Acolytes, getting everyone to line up.
Seeing he really hadn't assorted her a specific place, she skipped over to stand besides Torri, a smile streched across her face as she looked down at her little teammate. "Heya little one," she greeted before she turned around to face Gavin, who'd taken his place in the line after pulling Heather's bra strap. "Gaaviinn," she cooed, "Are you still sure?" she grinned as she looked at him, she didn't really need to finish the sentance, as he obviously knew she was teasing him due to Heather.
Ricki turned her head from the red-head before she looked up at Lorelai on Shimmer's other side. Ricki smiled at the older Acolyte, Lorelai had actually helped Ricki quite a bit, it might've been outta duty or whatever, but they were on pretty good terms. "Heya Lira," her smile turned into a grin, as she used her 'affectionate nickname' for the blue-haired girl,"Tut tut tut. Missed drama class," she accused, her voice playful, "Where 'bout were you then?" she inquired, slightly curious.

Tia moved in with the rest of her team mates, as the gathered to line up. Truth be told she couldn't really be bothered much with Gym Class either - who bloody cared about PE? She stopped herself rolling her eyes as Chace and Sky continued to nudge each other playfully around Lian. Katana soon appeared amongst them - Tia wasn't used to calling the girl by her first name, neither did she seem to talk much to her, so hey. She seemed to be apologising for something she'd done... Tia honestly couldn't care less, but seeing she was getting bored, she got in line behind Skyler before tapping her on the shoulder.
"What's the scene with Katana?" she asked, raising an eyebrow - her dead tone haunting her voice as usual. Tia'd gotten pretty close to all her team mates in the last two months... with the exception of some. She wasn't as open with them as she was around Allure and Frostbite, but Tia did tend to speak to them more... politely compared to others.

Not gonna get picked last-not gonna get picked last. Not this time Kev, no way, just look tough and they'll want you on there team he thought as he lined up in with the rest of the Acolytes. "Hey Ricki, you know Loralai doesn't like nicknames. She prefurs you to say her full name." Kevin said sticking up for his best friend. She was looking in a particularuly bad mood now seeing the boyfriend steeling Haven and the stolen boyfriend standing together must have killed her. He wondered how he might take something like that, but he wasn't ready for any kind of serious thing himself. He was still getiing comfortable with himself and all that he was dealing with. He felt eyes on him, as he often did in public or social settings amd bashfully raised his eyes to look and see if he could tell who was staring at him, and why.

Chase liked to push buttons, and when it came to Lian he always knew the right ones. "Go freak yourself Mary," she replied bitterly. That was the nickname she would call him whenever she really wanted to offend him. Yes it had a homosexual reference, but it was all in good fun (for the most part). Chase had worse names for her, the kind that Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton would try to fight about. But that was the relationship Lian, Sky and Chase had. All fun and games, even after someone got hurt.
Stretching her biceps, Lian was dreading the upcoming workout. For a smoker, running was not exactly something on her top list of favorite things. But she was more in shape than before and glad to at least be able to run a mile in 7 minutes than the previous 10 to whenever she felt like walking faster. "Stop bitching Sky," she said with a smirk. "Meeeeeeeeeeeh I don't wannnnnnnna dooooooo thissssssss." Mocking Sky was always fun. Lian also dreaded gym class but she didn't like to complain about it. With Wolverine as their teacher, it showed no purpose.
She got in line behind Sky and in front of Chase. Seeing Katana, Lian just ignored her and shook her head. Freaking nutcase, she thought. After today's scene in drama class, Lian just didn't bother to poke fun at Katana anymore. They chick killed making it fun since all she did was cry about everything. Now Lian needed a new target. For now, she would stay her own friends and just focus on gym class.
Lian looked to Tia when she heard her ask about Katana. "Don't ask man," she replied softly. It wasn't a topic to talk about. Tia and Lian were pretty chill, and because of that, Lian nudged her head towards the front of the line. "C'mon class is startin' gotta stretch and be ready."

Sean grinned at Kate and looked over at his team with a slight smile. "C'mon ya'll we got to get in position. Alex, we'll all wait to talk till we get the chance. Ya know how Mr. Logan is about us chatterin' when we should be doing them warm-ups," he said to his Hispanic friend. Though they had no official leader, Riker was it for the team when it came for someone that gave the orders and made them all pretty much just like a pack. Riker was the Alpha of the pack, and he took over that position well. Sean had his own place withing the little pack of the New Mutants, and he was just fine there.
The past couple of months had been a good deal of adjusting for Sean and getting his head straight. He did find himself pretty close with his team, especially Kate. When he wasn't in the garage working with Cyclops and Onyx on whatever they wanted to experiment on, he was off with Kate somewhere, just the two of them. Whether they were watching TV, doing homework or just sitting there talking, Sean loved that time best of all.
He looked around at his team and smiled a bit as he got in sync with the rest of them. They may not be the strongest team, or the most ruthless, but they knew each others strength and weaknesses enough to give a really, really good fight. "Let's go ya'll. I'm in the mood for either a good ol' time of tossin' the pigskin or some swimming. So let's get this done and stay in step," Sean said to his team with a big grin.

Mato fell in silent formation at the end of the line of the Corsairs, watching his team's animals all on the edge and looking very much the same way they did when contests were held against the Hellions. It seemed that the rivalry was at it's highest at the moment, though Mato knew that the animosity between the two teams cut into a more deeper level now.
Though the Corsairs had not known each other as long as the Hellions had, they became rather close in a short amount of time, thanks to Ironclad's valiant leadership. They had practices more than any other team in the school and Ironclad organized them in a sense that by the end of the first month, the Corsairs knew the others moves extremely well, trusting each other to work as a team of one. Mato could recall several times in practice and in contests that the Corsairs moved so fluidly that even the unpredictability of that ran through each and every one of their spirits worked together in an amazingly fluid direction. Mason's Cheetah lead the team with his strong sense of Brotherhood and ability to organize a proper hunt, with Aideen's Cougar working alongside the Cheetah in a sort of synchronization that came to both of them as natural as breathing. Tracy's Hart was the source that kept the group true to each other and never straying from the set honest path, but no less of a fighter than the others, if not more so. The Hart was often preyed upon, but rarely caught. Ariel's Wild Mustang was clever and strong, unable to be caught and when given then the freedom to let loose, was as wild and untouchable as her given nature. Mato himself found his place as an anchor to the group, the one who looked at things objectively and gave a unique insight to the group. The Grizzly Bear spirit that resided in him kept up with the group's fluid and fierce movement. Even the unique and spirited platypus that resided in Kelly was needed to complete the group's strength, for its impulsiveness was sometimes the strike that lit the match with the group, igniting a passion of the common morals that held them together.
Mato glanced back at his group, watching their faces grow serious and their spirit animals grow more fierce with every word that Brock shouted degrading their teammate and friend. Mason's Cheetah was growling dangerously with teeth baring, Ariel's Mustang was snorting and stamping it's hooves in agitation, even Tracy's lovely Hart looked agitated. Mato spared a glance at Wolverine's Snow Leopard, who had been looking incredibly satisfied in a way that would most likely be called 'the cat that got the cream' as the expression goes. It would not be the first time that Brock agitated the good and strong Warrior teacher, and he was quite sure that it would not be the last. All Mato could do was stay in silent formation and try to calm his own agitated spirit, as the Grizzly stared at the shark dangerously.

Veronika got in line next to Kris and Sky, looking rather adorable in her Juicy Couture light green velor suit. Her hair was up in a neat and perfectly styled bun and she added a touch of lip gloss to complete her look. God this class is repulsive that I am forced to be in the same area with all these half wits. The older teams and their ridiculous rivalry is something to take for amusement. And my, my what is this? It seems that Rumble's morbid and amusing fascination with that harlot is at a new height. That may be something I should keep in mind. Perhaps he will be the key to breaking her and ridding her from my life once and for all. Thank God the harlot isn't tainting the atmosphere with her presence. She gave her team a charming smile that always got their attention. "Come now, we must get this done. Most of us have been doing very well, and we do not want to mess that up yes?" Veronika said with a bat of her eyelashes.
From first glance, one would say that Chase was the head of the team and in charge of the formations. If one looked closer though, no decision on the team tactics and moves passed without Veronika's approval and consent. She was the one who ever so subtly slipped in the ruthless and dirty underhand tactics that their team was known for using. Veronika had the say on who would be the 'Dead Man' first so to speak, as the team was famous in taking out the members of the other team one by one. The Paragons where a very organized team, with the exception of Katana. It was now at the point that Veronika was going to subtly suggest to Chase to have her switched into another team. Veronika made sure the team was functioning the same way her Papa's organization functioned. They were ruthless and relentless, never stopping in a talent and as the time passed, they only got stronger. As far as Veronika was concerned, there were no room for the weak with her, Katana being one of them. Her next step was to 'suggest' the same thing to Nightcrawler. After two months of Veronika subtly arranging the team just the way she wanted, she wasn't going to deal with someone who was too demented to function with a group.
"Oh I would just love a swim today, it is after all a lovely day and the pool is heated by now yes?" she said to her team before she gracefully went into the stretching formation, setting the example for her team to follow. Veronika would have her way, she always did and no one was going to stand in her way or deter her.

“I will do Lorelai, I just want to stretch first. I’m still stiff from sleeping in this morning. I think Ivy stole my alarm clock or something, I couldn’t find it this morning so I ended up late for Drama.” She answered with a small shrug. The wee Acolyte really liked her team mates, everyone seemed really nice when she let her guard down enough to make friends. It was a new experience really, trusting people enough, this large a group as well, to feel safe to talk and have fun with them. Ricki and Lorelai where like big sisters in her eyes, she looked up at them with a rose tinted sense of adoration only a little sister could possess. The boys she thought in a way as brothers, Hardlight and StormHawk more so as Ian spent a lot of time with Haven and she spent a lot of time with him so although he was like a big protective brother figure in her eyes she didn’t tend to interrupt him too much. “Anyway, wont I look weird? Big strong legs and teeny wee me.” She added with a small childish laugh. Somehow being around her team tended to make her feel more like the child she truly was, like they where helping her recapture the youth she had so harshly been torn from at home. She didn’t think about that most of the time though.
No-body really knew that much about her past still, even though she had grown more confident in trusting her peers it was something she was not willing to share so very easily. Trust them as she might there was always that small niggling thought that held her back, wondering what they would think of her if she told one of them. It had been on her mind a lot over the past two months, whether to tell someone or not. A heavy burden it was on the youngest Acolyte yet her reluctance had caused her a few troubled nights where her nightmares resurfaced. Was it normal for thirteen year old girls to still be haunted by nightmares? Still worry that everything was a dream and that she was still in Scotland? Everything felt real, but she could never really trust herself. “Actually, I hope I don’t have to run a lot. I keep tripping over all the time, I end up with more bumps and bruises that I’ve caused than other teams.” She giggled, reaching her arms up above her head and pushing her clasped palms as high as she could reach without tearing something. Stretching was fun for the young shapeshifter seen as after her last big shift she had felt a lot more comfortable in flexing her body like a gymnast. A lot of the time she tried to mimic things she had seen Heartstring do when she caught the odd glance into the gym while she was training.
She was amazing in that her body was so fluid in everything she did. Everything was too complex for her to understand yet but she still liked the older student. She was really nice, the nicest of them all now since Decibel left. Torri had been a little heartbroken that she had lost one of the people she liked but tried not to sulk too much. Team sports and extra miles running on her conscience where never a good conversation starter afterwards. Someday though, she imagined herself being able to do all the very pretty and cool things the older girl could. That would make her really happy. She never really got into sports at home, finding more fun in pretending to be ill or simply not going and ending up at her park. She had called it that herself, Torri’s play park. It had a rope swing on a tree branch with a plank of wood for a seat, a small tree that had a house built on it for other kids but no-body took notice of it at the time of day she went to it. Either during school or late at night before her mum got home. Sometimes she simply needed some place to run away to. Here though she didn’t have that sort of luxury and like everyone else in the area had to endure the torturous P.E. lessons.
Spotting Ricki and hearing her say hello, Torri reached over and gave the closer of her team mates a quick hug before crouching down and stretching one leg out to the side and arching back her arms and torso so that the crown of her head touched the ground. She liked this stretch, it was fun and it make people laugh because she either always ended up falling and landing on her bum or simply because she had. It was strange that way, that sometimes if she laughed someone else did. She must look really funny when she laughed. “Hello Ricki. Oh, guess what!-“ she said excitedly from her strange position “-I found that really stretchy cardie I was talking about earlier. The pink one I said was a wee bit too big for me. If you like you can see if it’s any good to you later. Like I said its amazingly stretchy, like Mr Fantastic kind of stretchy. I tried to tear it once and it just didn’t break.” Her excited nodding at that moment had set her off balance and like many times before she collapsed under her own off balancing and landed with a soft bump on the ground. That she shook off, it would work one day! It was a life goal to prove she could do that stretch she had seen someone on TV do before. After a few huffs and grumbles about not being strong enough yet to do much she finally got into line with her team mates, settling herself close to those she favoured more and hoping to god that she wouldn’t be asked by Wolverine to do anything. That was one of the dreads she had about this particular class.
Upon standing upright again and making sure she was nice and comfortable standing, she heard the very loud and very nasty comment made by one of the Hellions she knew to be called ‘Rumble’. Torri didn’t like him, he was scary. Something about him made her just want to be invisible forever and never be within sight. Sometimes she thought he was just above every rule because of how he talked and behaved, now especially. Some of the things he said reminded her of how her mum would talk at home when she would bring people around for the night. Those where the times where she decided it was best to take a cushion and blanket and just camp out across town in the tree house in her play park. Recently she had noticed a few things reminding her of home and more so, making her jealous. She was jealous of a lot of the students. Even the ones that had admitted to having their parents unhappy about their mutations it made her jealous and angry even that she didn’t even have that anymore. ’Stop it Torri. You’re going to have fun in this class, you don’t need to feel sorry for yourself again. You have friends. Who needs parents!’ her thoughts whispered as she stood anxiously waiting further instructions from the scary P.E. teacher.

“Chase, please darlin’ chill out and leave the pretty girls alone. If you can’t play nice Wolverine is going to have to give you a time out. Be a good boy.” Kris chuckled as he heard the comments going to and from the bickering team mates of his. It was like they enjoyed being at each others throats at times, hilarious as it was it was still very wrong. “We all have to play like good little kiddies or I’ll kick all your asses for making me run extra.” He said, his voice turning slightly lower and more serious than his normal jolly tone.
One thing that really got under Kris’ skin was people who brought him down along with everyone else. “Im all for having a laugh and having fun but it took me hours to massage out the cramps I got from the last session.” With a small fluffing up of his hair he pulled at the collar of his outfit and walked over to Veronika, slipping an arm around her and giving a low groan. “Some of our team mates sweety need a good kick in the backside to get them moving, and if they don’t pick up the pace im going to end up doing it myself.”
The last part of his words although in a slightly lighter tone was filled with as much truth as he could see, he would literally and fundamentally kick them all in the backside. He enjoyed sports when a team was a team and most of the time although his was strong in power the basic team base trust was lacking and it was obvious to those even outside the loop. Still, keeping one arm around his nearest and dearest girl he looked over at the cutie Acolyte Kevin. He had missed the reaction to his mini note as class had ended so abruptly after Taffys performance so he was still a little curious as to how he was being received. He continued to stare dreamily at the male student even as he got into line formation and released Veronika from his grip. Her outfit was stunning like she was, some might say she was even more presentable now than she was this morning.
’Don’t you worry cutie, you’re gonna be mine one day. That cute little ass of yours is too good to miss. I don’t care how long it takes, even if I just get one little moment I’ll take it. Damn boy … why do you have to be so hot in uniform, even now after working out so much I mean … sweet jesus.’

“You never stop amazing me Alejandro. You move quick and well with Coffee and make me think I need to train harder.” Ana said cheekily as she wandered past him after following the guy from the Gym. She enjoyed watching them train actually, it had made her meagre use of the equipment seem like nothing although she had trained more than normal just to keep up appearances. “You are very good, I feel like I need train help to be better like you.”
Moving from him she walked over towards Aqua and waved gently at her. “We are playing games? Like … you call … Foot-Ball?” she enquired slowly, making sure she was understood better than normal.
