Freshly dressed and clean, Lorelai went to grab her iPod to listen to but decided against it, thinking that if she was going to make it so she could switch from the Acolytes she ought to at least put up a good impression for the headmistress. It was still in her to have some respect for faculty and staff, cause to do otherwise would be pretty stupid, and stupid she was not. She closed the door off to her room and headed toward the headmistress's office, the little smirk still on her face as she began relishing the 'what ifs' of being on a different team other than the Acolytes.
Just not having to deal with Diesel and Haven on about a daily basis in classes and team practices were lovely thoughts in themselves, but she thought about being on a new team. It wasn't like she didn't know the other students, she would just get to know them a little better...that is if she felt like it, honestly, because at that moment she didn't care too much to socialize. If she did switch, she would have at least a friend or two on each, which worked enough for her. Popularity wasn't and still wasn't something she cared for, so if she got away with only a few friends, so be it.
Lorelai smirked at the thoughts as she walked, and she soon reached Miss Frost's office. Stopping at the door she knocked on the door a couple of times, waiting silently for an answer. While she waited she crossed her arms over her chest and flipped her damp hair out of her face.

"Come in Lorelai dear." Emma said from behind the door. "I've been anticipating you're wanting to come and see me." She spoke softly as the door opened. She sat up in her plush leather chair slightly as she placed her tea cup on it's saucer and leaned forward to set her hot invigorating beverage down on the desk before her.
"Come and have a seat," her arm motion beconed her closer and to rest herself on one of the two chairs set before her desk. "It is about time we had this talk is it not?" she asked looking deep into the icebender's eyes after the girl finally had taken her choice of seats and looked up.
Emma found it funny to watch as someone chose which chair of the two to sit in. Not funny in a humorous way, although it was slightly in so much as the adorable demeanor that some of the children had was priceless. No... it was funny in a very different, very telling way when an individual chose which seat to sit in. It spoke volumes of the way in which they were living their lives, and the direction they had chosen ...or allowed fate to have taken the responsibility for choosing... for their lives.

When given entry, Lorelai stepped in and shut the door behind her, turning to the headmistress as she knew that she had been expecting her. She walked forward, the small smirk on her face turning into a slight pursing of her lips as she sat in the chair on the left. "Yeah, I'd think so," she said, looking up to see her meeting Miss Frost's eyes. The headmistress would see the obvious changes in her, and Lorelai knew if she poked in her mind for a minute she would see why.
Crossing one leg over the other, she sat back in her chair and continued to look the headmistress straight in the eye. "So, I want to switch out of the Acolytes. After today, I've had it. Take a look inside my mind if you haven't already and see why. I'm sorry, but I don't want to be an Acolyte anymore. I don't fit in it like I used to," she said, resting her arms on the arms of the chair. This decision was a long time coming, and now that she was done putting it off, she found she had little issue being straight up about it.

With the slightest of chuckles Emma folded her hands across her lap and said "I try not to pry into peoples minds Lorelai. In your case I didn't have to. I may look old, but I was a young woman once myself." she smiled over at Frostbite letting her know it was alright to let her guard down.
She had watched the girl take the chair to her left with no hesitation at all. It showed she knew why she was here and that she had no problems asking for what she wanted. He words , spoken as they had been, only served to reassure the Headmistress that body language was certainly a tell as to the goings on in a person's mind. Not remotely as accurate as reading one's thoughts, but far less invasive.
"I also have eyes." she smiled wider as the revelation of the obvious was laid out before the young Acolyte. "It's been pretty obvious, you broke up with Diesel and you feel like your whole world is out of sorts. I am here to tell you it is not. Life as you know it will go on, the sun will rise, the rains will fall, and Kelly Burns will turn something important into chocolate...trust me I have been around long enough to know that this pain you feel is temporary."
She unfolded her hands and leaned forward, her forearms on her desk and said "Or is there something more to it than that?" Sometimes it was good to let a person come to their own conclusions, and sometimes one had to prod them along. Emma wasn't quite sure yet which type of situation this one was.
"Is this a case of looking to the addition you would make to another team and rushing headlong to that future, or are you just wanting to run from the pain and give up on the rest of your team?" She raised her eyebrow as she looked the girl over "When we make major changes in our lives often we don't take the time to reflect on why...so I ask you are you running to something, or away from something?"

Lorelai listened to Miss Frost, hearing her out and realizing that the the reflection she was asking of her was something she realized just before coming to her office. She thought for a moment, and thought back to what she had realized about herself, what she had done earlier, and the situation that started it all. "I'm doing both. The whole thing with Diesel is done. Cause of it, and cause of the way my mind works, I really don't like him anymore. Or his little arm candy either. At first I was hurt, but then it just went down so that I just don't like either of them. For two months I took it sitting down them flaunting everything, and Diesel just taking the leadership role of the team. Today I quite about had it," she started, and then the smirk found her face again.
"When I found out what happened on the field today, that was it," she said, with a little laugh as she remembered the hysterical laughter that took over her as she realized what had happened. "Rumble had put both of them in the ground and buried them. I," she paused to smile at the fresh memory, not even really caring how wrong it had to have sounded, "Actually went down to thank Rumble and help him out. I did it completely on purpose. And I don't regret it," she said, having been looking at the teacup on the desk to Emma again, the smile still on her face.
"I'm running from and running to. I'm sick of dealing with people I can't stand on a daily basis because I happen to be stuck on the same team as them. But then, this, what I did, brought out something new in me that I think I quite like. And it's a lot better than what I was just this morning. I am..." Lorelai paused to smirk a little, "Free, I guess I could say. The rest of the team is fine, and it wouldn't be like I'm dead or something. I'll still be around them, just not in team practices. I want to move on with this change, cause I think it's better for me. That's all," she finished, crossing her arms over her chest as she still smirked. Her mind was made up.

"Funny how you and Leah have so very much in common." Emma mused aloud about Katana, the thought of giving her a fresh start had dawned on her in their earlier session. "She on the other hand has deeper issues than a broken heart and a rebellious streak, but I think we can solve the issues you both have with a simple swap. I can't let the team that someone is one interfere with their learning here, and if that is as much the case for you as it is for her then so be it." Emma knew the girl was made of stronger stuff than this, but indulging her this once wouldn't hurt all that badly she suspected.
"See Nightcrawler for his team practice schedule and a new uniform and I will let Katana know when she arrives....Oh look at the time, she ought to be here any minute." Emma said curtly. "Now you are certain this is what you want? It might give some a wrong impression of you, one in particular might consider you a quitter, but if it will give you peace of mind and free you up to be a better you then I endorse it." I do like to indulge my Hellions after all, she thought to herself and I've had my eye on you since Limbo.
Emma knew it would take a bit more grooming and possible spoiling of the icebender, but Frostbite was smart enough to lead one day. The Hellions would need another cold, calculating, and clever leader when Inflict left and the younger classes held few of those types. It would be interesting to see which of the two young women Allure or Frostbite would rise up to control the Paragons. A definite foreshadowing of a future Hellion Team Captain indeed, this should prove to be entertaining to witness... if nothing else the former White Queen thought with a slight inward smile. "Well then? Will you join the Paragons?"

Lorelai listened as Emma replied, her head tilting slightly as she awaited a decision. So something's up with Katana too? She is a little weird, and half the time when she's not crazed looking she looks too soft to be a Paragon. Look at who's on it, come on now. This is perfect, imagine that. Her smirk was broader as she was told to speak to Nightcrawler, and she nodded at the question. "Yes, I'm sure. And I know one might consider me a quitter, but for all that she can go back to hell," she said, thinking probably the one who would call her as such would be Haven as she would most expect, surprising herself a little at how boldly she spoke.
"I will be better for this, a fresh new start to a fresh new me," Lorelai said, smirking even more, satisfied that her goal was achieved. "I will join the Paragons."

After a quick shower at her room, Katana headed over to Ms. Frost's office, not even noticing that she was late. Katana was always late. Along the way she blasted her crappy old Walkman, so that if anybody walked into the hallway they would have heard Dog Fashion Disco shouting "Don't fall asleep or we'll mutilate your genitals," a line from, believe it or not, one of their more appropriate songs. I actually did a decent job in gym class. I played well and I didn't join the stupid fight, and since everybody else acted like idiots Wolverine should have me on the good list for once. I'm sure he'll let me do extra credit now! And then I won't fail, Katana thought happily.
When she had failed everything the first couple weeks in class, and more so when even her teachers seemed to act like they expected nothing more from here than failure, she had lost confidence and had used that as an excuse to behave like a hooligan, resulting in her continuing to fail. Now she was ready for that to change and with all the conviction of a newbee at an AA meeting she was walking tall and holding her head high.
Rounding the corner she came up upon the headmistress's door and was about to barge right in, when she thought better of it. Oh, yeah, better knock. So she turned her Walkman off, pulled the earphones off, and then knocked on the door three times.

"Lets hope so." Emma said nodding. "It might just- oh, here she is." the rapping at the door would follow after a short pause. Emma knew Leah had come, she didn't have to read a mind to sense one approaching and as it was for Ms. Frost she always had a sense of other's minds. She had learned to stop herself from looking into the thoughts of others, though it was after all a natural curiosity for her to look. She waited patiently those few seconds for the knock at the door before winking to Frostbite and saying "Come in please, Leah."

Lorelai still smirked as Emma spoke, and turned her head when there was knocking at the door. Goood, I won't have to wait long at all. This is good, I'll be a Paragon, no more Acolyte bullshit anymore. Course there's Kevin, but I'll still talk to him. I'm not so mean as to drop my own best friend I think. Hope he knows I'm better off not on the team, hell, he should. God knows I've emptied my head out to him multiple times. Ahhh well. She looked back to Emma, who winked at her. Lorelai smirked at her and looked back at the door, waiting for Katana to come in.

Katana slowly opened the door and walked into the room, her head still held high but now her whole body quivering a little. I'm not afraid., she told herself so sharply she was almost worried she might have said the words aloud. "Hello Ms. Frost, I just came from gym class, like you wan..." She stopped seeing Frostbite. "Oh, hi Frostbite. Good to see you. What are you doing here?" No sooner had she said it than she chastised herself for being nosy and added, "not that you need to tell me if you don't want to...yeah, I talk too much" she said sheepishly. This was not normal behavior for Katana. "Ms. Frost, it's real polite to ask me in, but maybe I should wait outside until you are done," she said, hoping the headmistress would excuse her. They probably just talked about what happened and Rumble and Haven and all that and I don't want to get dragged into this., Katana thought as she started to back away.

"No Leah, stay. This concerns you too." Emma motioned her to take the other seat. "Lorelai just stopped in with a wonderful idea, she was wanting a change and I thought you might be interested to be a part of this."
The Headmistress waited for the girl to sit and said "I had been considering ways to lighten your mood and give you a chance for a clean slate...Tea? Lorelai...Leah..?" She stood and walked over to her teapot as is waited hot and patiently for her gentle grasp. "Aside from wiping everyone's minds of every memory of you I think this is your best opportunity."
"Frostbite has requested a change of team, and I was wondering if you would be so kind as to agree to a swap. You would join the Acolytes and she would join the Paragons. What do you think of this idea?" She returned to freshen her own cup of tea and see how the idea was received by Leah. It was already a forgone conclusion that it would happen, but Emma wanted Katana to feel that she actually had a hand in this decision.

The smirk on Lorelai's face remained rather prominent as Katana came in, almost painfully shy and bashful. Her arms were still crossed over her chest as she watched her start to back away. "Hi," she answered, and looked at the headmistress as she went to get more tea. "No thanks," she said to the offer of tea, and listened with interest as Miss Frost explained what was going on. When Katana had taken a seat in the other chair next to her, Lorelai looked at her as she awaited an answer, interested in what she would say to it. It would be better for her anyway, honestly I never knew she was this awkward. I knew she had her anger issues and junk, but this is almost amusing, she thought, glancing again at Katana.

Sitting down nervously in the chair, Katana looked at the ground intently, as if she might discover treasure gleaming through a crack in the floor boards. A fresh slate? And tea. It has to be bad...otherwise why the tea and the fancy words instead of just telling me straight out, Katana thought. When the headmistress continued, telling her that Frostbite's idea would be the best opportunity besides wiping the minds of her fellow students, Katana blanched noticeably and her cheeks started to flush. Fidgeting in her chair she thought to herself gloomily, I don't like this. Are they going to get rid of me? This morning Ms. Frost gave me a chance to catch up with extra credit and counseling...now there's a new idea. So when the headmistress finally mentioned that the idea was a switch of teams Katana's first reaction was one of relief which showed as she became less fidgety and her muscles stopped tensing.
Yet, the second thought in her brain was less accepting, Nightcrawler is really giving up on me. He's like the only one who believed in me and now he doesn't want me anymore. Tears started to well up in the young Paragon's eyes and she tried to fight them back and turned her face to keep anybody from seeing. Half stammering she said to the headmistress, "Please...Please...I'll do anything. If I screw up again send me to the mountains of the moon, to an orphanage to anywhere, but don't..." But then she remembered Frostbite was in the room. I can't lower myself in front of her. She looked at the headmistress with anger in her eyes, but mostly fear, and said coldly, "If Nightcrawler doesn't believe I can ever be anything anymore, than no other teacher will believe in me either...so you might as well expel me now and get it over with."

Just as I was afraid... with her teetering on the edge as she is, and apparently has been for so long, she was easily pushed to her defensive mindset of quitting. Better that than her other option of lashing out...poor child...a sort of fight or flight gone haywire. She needs to feel safe Emma thought. She had taken care to offer up the idea as if it were remotely up for discussion, a way in which to let Leah feel as if she had some control in her life.
"Child, I don't know if I should be offended." Emma said taking a teacup and saucer and pouring a cup of tea for Katana. "Or simply amused. Drink your tea, it will settle you." Emma placed the teacup and saucer in Katana's hands. "Tea is a wonderful drink, it will see you through anything... would you like some milk or sugar?" She waited patiently and fulfilled Leah requests, as they pertained to her beverage, so that her tea was as appealing and delicious as any cup of tea could ever be. Sometimes the principles were the same with child rearing as with magic, in so much that it is vital to be able to deflect the attention from a subject from time to time, thus to make the 'reveal' a wonderful thing.
"You will be joining the Acolytes, and Colossus is a fantastic mentor. He is a very large man and you can rest assured that in his chest beats a very big heart." Emma smiled at Leah. "Whatever will be dear Leah, know that I have your best interests in mind by doing this. It is not Nightcrawler's decision it is mine, and the decision is final Katana. The Acolytes are a caring group, Colossus most caring of all, wouldn't you agree Lorelai?" Emma asked knowing the girl would have little choice but to back her word. "They will surely give you a fair chance to start fresh. How is your tea?"
After a moment had passed she turned to Frostbite and dismissed her saying "Make sure you turn in your uniform to Colossus and then go and find Nightcrawler. I appreciate you being so proactive with regards to your classwork and team activities, thank you Lorelai. You may go, I will let Peter and Kurt know to expect you." She knew Frostbite was excited and anxious to start in with the Paragons, and there was no need for her to stay any longer. She waited until the door shut behind the new Paragon before she turned to Leah and said "I heard you had a wonderful gym class, would you like to tell me about it?"
