Having his meals in his office had become a common practice for Scott, but tonight Emma had asked that he take part in the meal at the Cafeteria with the other teachers on duty and make sure things went within acceptable guidelines. A single food fight was not too terribly beyond the norm and it was Friday so Cyclops had let it slide. Sitting between Kurt and Marie at the big table the three of them had been engaging one another in talk of training philosophies and the building of strong young hearts and minds.
"Yes, Rogue you have a good grasp on where I was going with the idea. It seems, for example since it is your team over there making the ruckus Nightcrawler, that it might be time enough to put them through their paces. Time to give them more than they can handle...break them and re-make them- so to speak. I know it's a military mindset, it works for Marines and many special forces from countries all over the world. It may seem harsh, yes, but better that than to have them running around here and out there in the rest of the world thinking they can do as they choose, without so much as a by your leave and with no consequences levied."
"I fear for the future, as you both know it has been my continued struggle in all of this to uphold the Dream our mentor put forth for us all. It was Charles Xavier's wish and hope that we could live in harmony, all of us mutant and non mutant alike...I just think we need to have a little heavier hand sometimes." He set his gaze on Kurt. From behind his ruby quartz glasses he raised an eyebrow. He knew how tough the Paragon leader had it. His team was the most unruly of the lot and among them the worst of the bunch -like the few rotten apples that they were- seemed to have spread their nastiness to the other teams.
"All I'm saying is that it is time to get a better handle on all of the kids here. This is not some free for all circus, there are little children here and they see the example set by the older kids. I know Emma has taken great pains to make a turn around with her team and all but a few seem to have gotten the picture. Now it is only a matter of time, I think..I hope...until they knuckle under. She said she was missing one tonight, I hope it's nothing serious, they are all good kids...well almost all." his mind fell to the two young men on the team of Hellions that he knew he would be facing in some few short years. It was unavoidable...the course they were set on was leading them into darkness. The end result of which was inevitable.
