"Actually Logan he would be a born psychopath, not to be confused with a sociopath that are generally born with the mental disorder," Dylan said from his spot on the couch, fully expecting the look that Logan gave him following his statement. "It's actually a big difference. Though both sociopaths and psychopaths are known to lack remorse and disregard the common morals of right and wrong, most psychoaths develop that disorder through an abusive childhood or through an attachment disorder that comes from not being held enough as a child. Sociopathy is a more known genetic disorder which manifests around the age of fifteen, in which they are unable to maintain normal relationships and are general outcasts of society. Psychopathy is rarely passed through genetics, but there have been cases in which a child is born with antisocial personality disorder that manifested into psychopathy at a very early age, known as a born psychopath. They have incredible intelligence, are able to appear normal by first glance and their demeanor toward people is generally incredibly self assured and full of power. They are also able to fake emotions by imitating others in society in such a manner that appear infallible and true, and are born without fear."
Dylan was able to say all that all while finishing his Siam Beef. He tended to burst into information like that throughout a conversation and rarely stopped himself to see the weird looks others would give him as a result. "Now Brock would be a born psychopath, being that he was born into a relatively normal family and had a normal, if not abnormal childhood being that the Van Alstyne's are one of the oldest and wealthiest families in the world, right up there with the Rockefeller's and Freemasons. I also believe that his psychopathic behavior manifested as an infant mainly because by the time he came to us, he was only 16 or 17 and already at a level beyond control. My estimate is that if he had gotten help soon, it may have been controlled but that is a slim chance." He had a thoughtful look to his face now, food put aside as one can almost hear the gears in his mind reeling as he started to piece together the thoughts that weaved in his mind.
"It's interesting that he had been just about tolerable until recently. As I remember, he did whatever he pleased but generally didn't bother with many people that didn't serve him amusement. He never had to work much for anything, being very much a ladies man and never without a girl if I remember correctly, no matter how cruelly he treated them. Perhaps Aideen not giving into his advances became that final focus," He hypothesized, a part of him wishing he could actually see some of Brock's behavior for himself. "His advances toward her is him working for something, at least from what I know. Her constant rejection only strengthens his own resolve toward her. There is a breaking factor, and many times it can be done without giving into that resolve but unfortunately that is unknown to anyone but Brock. It could be as small as something about you smelling different or dressing in something he doesn't like for him to let go of you, but the definite answer is near impossible to pinpoint." Dylan cut himself off when he saw Logan's glowering face and the less than happy one of Aideen's. "I know I know, 'Shut your piehole Blaine.' I am only trying to help though, understanding someone like him may help in dealing with him."

Lai was again sitting there with wide eyes looking between all of them. "Whoa, whoa so lemme get this straight, there is a mutant guy that's like obsessed with you." She pointed at Aideen. "And is a 'born psychopath'. And makes Earthquakes. Well that is just great," she said sarcastically and dropped her fork into the half eaten bowl of Pad Thai. "As if there are not enough crazy mutants out there that try and destroy or take over the world once or twice a year, now we have someone who can move the tectonic plates and kill our entire ecosystem." Lai had never been all that interested in Earth Science, but she did live green: driving a Toyota Prius and using all Green products and technology. She even paid extra to live in the dorms that used florescent lights and wind energy, so she was dedicated enough to know the research behind it.
"So tell me again, how is it that he's done all these things to you for months, and they still let him stay at the school?" Lai said shaking her head in disbelief. "That's horrible. I woulda taken everything I could and just use them to beat his ass to a pulp, or hell thrown his ass out of the school! Do the other teachers and X-Men even know about this? Who am I kidding of course they know, you guys got Emma Frost and Dr. Hank McCoy, and their both brilliant. That's such bull," Lai said crossing her arms. Her main focus in Law was Women's Rights, and had for awhile thought about extending it into Mutant and Superhero rights, similar to that of Jennifer Walters. That would have to wait till her sophomore year though, since she could only have one focus as a freshmen.
"You have rights too you know, as a resident there. And so do you!" Lai said looking over at Tracy. "This is a school, and you all have a right to feel safe. Any woman that is victimized by a man, whether he's a psychopath or just a plain out pig, should be able to voice out their objections on such behavior and have him removed from the school. It is the boarding school's responsibility to keep their students safe, and how is anyone safe with a psychopath? No doubt he's just a stupid idiot chauvinistic male who thinks that just cause he has a dick he can stick it anywhere he wants. God I hate men sometimes, just who the hell do they think they are?" Just on principal, she punched Mike in the chest and scooted away from him, going into that stage where she was annoyed at all men. "Why don't any of you guys do something? Give him a good swift kick in the balls and call it a day." Lai threw her hands up in the air. "That will hit him where it hurts more than throwing him through a wall. Kick him hard enough so he has to swallow them."

Tracy returned from the kitchen nook with her glass of wine and a tray loaded with filled shot glasses and balancing in the middle of them a bottle of Jagermeister. "Okay so since we're mostly finished eating I thought we'd- OH down boys" she nudged her way through the dogs as the four of them literally danced around her like some wild comic scene from a Disney flick.
She spun and dodged and spilled not a drop, her balance was incredible and the massive canines gave her no quarter as it was her attention they craved and they would have it one way or another. "Oh okaay! Let me put this down first.. gees-zoo, you guys don't give up." She slid the tray down off her hand onto the table and placed her wine down near it as she spun in place and sat down, her hair lifting up and around her as the doggies excitedly nuzzled into her and she lavished them with affection.
"Anyway I was saying guys since we're all pretty much done eating I thought a nice tradition I picked up when I went to Germany after that awful firebombing of that mutant hostel. It was a good day, nobody died, and as a thanks we were shown the extent of the hospitality and I just thought it would be cool to have a little digestif, like well since today was good day too." She patted the floor before her and the group of dogs sat at her command, and with a tilt of her head they all groaned and layed down since that was what she really wanted them to do and she could be quite persuasive with them she found when she wanted to. They knew if they behaved she would give them all the petting they desired.
"No rush and you don't have to if you don't care for it, but they jokingly call this stuff Leberkleister over there. Roughly translates to liver glue," she giggled as she reached over to pick up a shot glass "and you know it kinda coats a bit like glue going down. Bottoms up?" She looked around waiting to be joined and then tipped up her glass to take a little nip. "It's not so bad really and they say it aids digestion." Her eyes flicked over to Dylan who would no doubt have a word or two to throw in on the subject but she didn't let him start.
"But back to your question Lai, I think you have to take a look at the big picture. Sure it's a school, but it's also sort of a repository for wayward mutants too, and if we were to turn old Brock out into the streets then whatever he might do would we would have a share in the responsibility for his actions." She looked at the girl, sensing what she was feeling and how her body language displayed it boldly enough for all to see.
"So it's really less a question of putting up with a male chauvinist pig as it is a question of, do we burden ourselves with this guy or set him loose on the world only to have to go and chase him down later. It's not my call, but I get why he's still there and no, I don't like it at all but I deal with it. The gold medal though really goes to Aideen, she is a trooper about it, and Logan" she looked at him then "you have been like a pillar of strength. I have known for some time how you two felt and I have to say I think you both are incredible."

"There is no gold medal that I would accept for being forced to have contact with the infected pustule. The best part of him ran down his mother's leg twenty five years ago," Aideen said after she downed the shot of jagermiester. It took her a minute to realize the vulgarity of that statement, but with the jager still fresh in her system she didn't have it in her to blush or apologize for her comment. "I can deal with Brock, he's not as cunning as he likes to think he is, and his games are fairly predictable. I'm done with the games though, I told him and I will tell Emma and Cyclops the same, that any part of him that touches me is getting cut off." She wasn't joking either, she had enough. It was almost liberating to have snapped, but there was a lot of weight that came with that factor. She wasn't going to let him effect her anymore, and if she had her way she'd be the one to deliver that final blow and all the ones in between. For too long she had kept control of her temper and self control, but not anymore, and she would take those consequences accordingly.
At that thought, she glanced down at Logan from her spot on the armrest moving a hand down to take his free hand. Bringing the heavy hand on her lap, she stroked the callused rough skin gently with heated fingertips. "Don't, you kill him, and you're out of the X-men and they'll make you leave your home. I'm not worth that, and neither is he. If I do it, they can blame it on my conditioning and training, which is the general truth anyways," Aideen added while watching Ingrid make a funny face trying her first ever shot of Jagermiester. She laced her fingers with his and lightly massaged the back of his hand with heated fingertip, enjoying the contrast of texture between their hands.
"Psychopath or not, he doesn't scare me and I can manage. For how much longer, I cannot say, but I have never shied away from consequences. I can handle it and I never complained. Without a complaint they cannot do anything exactly I imagine." She thought hard trying to remember the school bylaws that she briefly looked over if there was a passage issued about action not being taken without a formal complaint. "I don't think he bothers anyone else, and that's probably for the best. If not me, it's someone else, and just about everyone else at that school is scared of him or would give in far too easily. Tracy is right, there is a bigger picture and more factors to consider. As for me, I'm still shocked that out of 10,000 sperm, he was the quickest and yet still from the shallow end of the gene pool," Aideen said in a cool tone, not really looking at anyone in particular. She was still slightly on the edge and talking about the one person she wanted a break from wasn't helping, though she knew that some things needed to be figured out. Too much had happened that night, and she was annoyed enough as it was with Mike to not make her mood any better talking about her least favorite alleged human being.

Logan growled at being told he needed to stand down. "Yeah, yer brave and all, but that freakshow needs guttin like a fish and I don't see ya doin it before I get to it. I'm not standin on ceremony here, well maybe I am, but I'm the one who wants to protect you from this.. you can protect me from the next one, OK?" He soften his voice and even smiled slightly as he pulled her into his lap.
"And if ya think yer not worth givin up everything for then I guess I ain't been doin my part in this whole thing. So what more do I have to do ta get it through that thick head a yers? You are worth givin up everything for, and after the news comes out that we been together I don't know how welcome I'm gonna be at that school anyway, so the least I can do it take out the garbage on my way to the curb."
"And shut yer gullet Dylan." He pointed as he skooched to the edge of his seat with his woman on his lap and reached out to grab his shot. "Like I care if he was born or made or dropped on his head. What he is is a pest, a bug I'm gonna squash, so I guess that makes me the exterminator." He tossed back his Jager in one shot and licked his lips. "MMmm... like candy, Thanks Trace. That hit the spot. Now who's got a beer for me?"

Mason ended up choking on his Jager, leaning over to cough and pounding his chest from laughter and surprise. "Holy *cough* *cough* Shit. I can't believe you just *cough* said that," he managed to get out, still hitting his chest as chuckles escaped him. This weekend had to have been something magical. He got his girl to mess around on a boat outside, he'd very uncomfortably watched a new side to his favorite teacher and his friend, and now got to see some of his longtime friends that he really did miss. He never pictured them in the situation they were in now, just sitting around each with a girl, Dylan with one as hot and famous as Ingrid, and just chilling out.
"I known you for months now," Mason said looking at Aideen and wiping tears from his eyes and grabbing a napkin to wipe the Jager he spat from his hands. "And that was the first time I ever heard you say something so.. dirty." He shook his head and looked over at Mike, putting his arm around Tracy as he sat back shaking his head. "Oh man that was amazing. I'm gonna remember that, when Little Miss Prim and Proper said something baaaad and dirty. Not so much a lady anymore huh?" He teased Aideen, getting a kick out of all of this. Mason was not gonna pass up an opportunity now and he was full on expecting Tracy to nudge him or give him that 'look' but he didn't care now. It was the look that Logan gave him that kept him from teasing her further. He didn't need to piss that guy off anymore tonight.
"Damn Mike, I'm telling you this is an amazing weekend. Yea okay we had some situations. Yesterday we had an all out bar fight after I won 24 grand, and before that we were in another fight cause some punk tried to start shit with Tracy here," he said squeezing Tracy's shoulder. "The bar fight though, that was all on Logan. He punched out the Head Honcho and the next thing you know, guns and knives are out and then bullets are flying everywhere. We got outta there after that." He glanced at Aideen for a minute and cracked a big smirk. "I can't believe you said that girly, that was a great first."

Mike sat back, smirk on his face since he knew Lai liked to vent her frustrations with men on him. The night had taken some wild turns and this was the part where he cracked up at. Reaching to the tray of drinks and grabbing two, one for his lady.. who he would be putting first from now on, at least every time he remembered to and he planned on remembering as often as he could.. and the other for himself. "Oh you never hear her talk like that? I never woulda guessed it." He said sarcastically to Mason with a chuckle and a wink at Aideen. He knew if he had kept at it just long enough he could break down the ice-queen's castle walls and let her fiery side out.
"Hear ya go babycakes, sip it like Tracy said, or you can go for it like those two just did." He pointed to Logan and Aideen with his pinky. "But be careful huh? I once threw a shot back so hard I hit myself in the eye with half of it. I was already so drunk I was seein double so it actually helped to get blinded in that eye, whew burned for an hour. Remember that time Dylan?" He called over to his former team captain.
Then looking down at the other end of the couch he said to Mason "That's not bad money for a night's racing, how many runs did you win? Oh, man and before I forget I really would love to check out your car. Thing looks fast, but old school.. didn't you say something about some upgrades?" He was starting to forget himself, getting all carried away talking and forgetting Lai as she sat next to him with her glass raised in anticipation. "Oh s'cuse me, Mase."
"I have a little drink to share here," he said turning back to touch his glass gently to his woman's "with the gal I love more than cars, and baby you know that's sayin a LOT." He winked at her mouthing 'I love you' as he raised his glass to his lips to pull a little sip. "Hmm, Logan's got a point here whatta ya think? Stuff's pretty sweet yea? But I'ma tell you baby it's nowhere near as sweet as your lips." He knew it was cheesy and he said it in that way of his that he knew but he meant it just the same anyway. His enduring charm was also something he never had to work on, but he would try. "I mean, Lai.. you are amazing, and.. well, yea, you know- just amazing.. and, you got my heart baby so take good care of it."

Lai narrowed her eyes at Mike and sipped the Jager. "I am not the one that you should be worried about," she muttered taking another sip. The Women's rights advocate in her wasn't thrilled at all, but from the way things had gone she had to let it go. That didn't mean she couldn't go back to her grudge against men for awhile. "Bar fights and car racing? Wait car racing?!"
She sat up now and looked at all of them with wide eyes. "You were at the Southie end?! How in hell did you all get there? And why? Do you know how dangerous it is over there?" Lai had only been in Boston since August, but she knew enough that it was very VERY bad news to go to that part of town, and it was the only area that did any actual racing. Also that was probably the most corrupt area in existence with all the dirty cops and crimes committed on a daily basis. She had been nervous as it was the fact that the building they were in now was close to the heart of South Boston, and now Lai just decided that mutants or not, they were insane.
"I will never understand the appeal in bar fights and car racing and being in places where the only girls there wear leather bras and hand towels for skirts," she said getting up to throw away her empty container of food and to grab herself another Thai iced tea and to hand Logan his beer. "How you go from a school where you deal with a psychopath to a place full of psychos and men oozing with Machismo, I will never know. And you two!" She looked between Mason and Logan, hands on her hips. "Just what do you have to say to yourself to take your woman into a place like that? That is no place for any respectable woman!" Lai glared at the two men, and then shot one at her own on principal for being interested in the whole thing to begin with.

"Uh..." Mason blinked for a minute and looked between Tracy, Aideen and Logan, not quite knowing how to answer. This answer was something to carefully consider, because it had the potential to come out very wrong. If he said he just wanted to go and check it out, that was like saying that he didn't have much respect for his girl to bring her there, and that would not end well. If he said it was Aideen's idea, then that's implying that she was like one of those chicks Lai was describing and that would earn him would be a painful encounter from Aideen or Logan, though he imagined more so from Aideen since she was the independent type, with being able to fight for herself and take one really nasty hit from someone she hated and still not snap. That was something that Mason didn't want to test.
It took him maybe a minute or so under Lai's hard glare to come up with something mildly decent. "I souped up my car, and I wanted to race it. I'm laying low in New York for now, so I came here instead. It paid up, I made over twenty grand on only one high stake race." Mason looked over at Mike and smirked. "That's right man, one race. I got put right with the top dogs cause the guy that runs it has the hots for Aideen. No pun intended," he added with a slight laugh before coughing nervously under the glowering look on Logan's face. "Uh yea... but I did use a majority of that money to get Trace anything she wanted to make up for it though." It was a partial lie, he would have done it regardless but he figured it would be enough to get Lai off the man hating tirade.
"And for the record, I could say that me and Logan kept a good hand on stuff. Well okay until he punched out the head honcho for hitting on Aideen, but that counts for something. Actually... there were a couple of 'incidents' that night huh?" He looked over at Logan now as his mind pieced together exactly how much stuff happened. From the moment they got there it seemed like a fight was inevitable, just from the guys at the gate. Aideen handled smoothly, and Mason's window was rolled down so he caught a good bit of what they said. He was actually surprise that Logan didn't at least run that one guy over, but he was good at holding himself back. He had to have been to not have ripped Rumble into shreds by now, especially after that time Rumble backhanded Aideen in the face. He thought for a minute and looked back at the couple on the couch. "Oh man there's going to be one hell of a show when we get back," he said with a slight laugh, feeling that in his gut as well.

"Awwhawhaw Booo." Tracy gushed over her guy and slid back across the floor to wrap an arm around his leg and rest her head on his knee. "Iddn't he just the cutest?" she said, more to Lai than anyone else. " Souped up his car and everything... girl you gotta love that. Hey if you're not at least willing to give your support to your guy when he has a passion, whether it's chess or remote control monster trucks or Cuban cigars... look at our men ladies."
She paused for a second to let the girls take an eye to the men they claimed as their own for reasons only they knew completely. "They have an amazing way about them don't they? The little boy in each of them is adorable and shows through in the excitement they have when they play. Okay so maybe Mike doesn't still play with his trucks... does he?.." She glanced at Lai ".. and I would hope Dylan has mastered chess by now.. right?.." her eyes shot over to Ingrid for a moment ".. and, I don't think Logan will ever tire of a nice hand rolled Havana. On that I think we can all bet the farm." She grinned at Aideen in Logan's lap.
"So I don't know how you girls do it, but for me I get into what Mason likes. Not fully mind you, because there's no way I'm getting all greasy and breaking a nail on some engine or up under a car somewhere.. but I don't have a problem seeing what he enjoys as a way to be closer to him and embracing it." She contemplated for a moment why that was and then added. "It might have something to do with picking up on the joy he has when he is in his element, but you know you can do that too. My power just enhances the experience for me to a completely tangible level. Which is why I have no problem going to some underground racing thingy, it makes me happy to be around him when he's happy, ya know?"
"As for the appeal of a bar fight, well I can admit that it's an acquired taste, but now that I've gotten a taste I think they're almost kinda fun." She giggled and squeezed Mason's leg a little more before Braden got up to come and flop down almost right on her and roll his belly up to be scratched. "Ha! Just like that...?.. and I'm supposed to scratch you?" Giggling Tracy conceded "Okaaay." She reached out a hand to scratch the wolfhound's tummy, finding the spot that got his leg going and she laughed all the more. It was ironically an almost perfect example of what she had been talking about.

A big sweet grin came across Ingrid's face as she looked at Dylan with adoration shimmering in her purple eyes. "He mastered chess almost too well, did you not darling?" She smoothed her fingers along his smooth jaw. "Dylan has been trying to teach me GO for some time, but I do not understand it. He loves playing solving any and all puzzles, and watching game shows with him is impossible. He solves it with almost bored ease," She said with a giggle and leaned over to kiss the corner of his lips.
"But at the same time he puts up with me too. All my experiments making crazy sandwiches, my love for Dazzler and dancing around in my underwear all over the apartment and once in a while with the swiffer mop," Ingrid's cheeks were tinged a light pink and she laughed slightly at her own silliness. "I consider myself very lucky, though I can never see the appeal and fun in solving complicated physics problems, he is just so adorable that I love watching him solve problems," she said stroking his jaw.
Despite the fact that Ingrid had been around some of the most handsome men in the world, none of them compared to her next to Dylan. He had such expressive green eyes that took in everything around him, an amazing smile that was always so sincere, and when he got to talking about some facts, the look on his face was just so endearing that Ingrid could never resist. She put the food aside and cuddled up next to Dylan, sliding an arm around his thin waist and tucking her head under his chin. Anyone who would think that the sweet starlet wasn't possessive of her guy, they just underestimated her.

"Oh please, at least that's sort of normal. Mike still has a whole closet dedicated to his monster trucks," Lai said with a roll of her eyes at Mike, although there was a twinge of affection in her glance. She thought it was hilarious how he was like a little kid in a candy store when it came to his monster trucks. For St. Valentine's Day earlier that year, she had bought him one of the new ones he had circled in that magazine he subscribed to with all the works. He was so thrilled when he played with it that it had lessened the anger she felt that all she got was a card that was originally a Valentine's Day card for a grandparent.
"He still has those Saturday mornings where he sits in front of his TV, watches Transformers, and plays with those damn trucks." Lai shook her head and grabbed the bags of trash, the neat freak in her not letting her to just leave them unattended. "I have seen this guy push aside a teenager to get the last newest RC truck and smile as hell as the poor kid cursed his ass out. Only you baby," she leaned down and kissed his cheek on the way to the kitchen.
"As for me," Lai called from the kitchen while sorting the trash into recyclables. "I have a tendency to go green to the extreme. But that's nothing bad, hell if anything it's beneficial. Thanks to me, Mike's entire apartment is free of harsh chemicals that poison the environment and when I clean his bathroom, you could eat of the floor and not call the poison control center." She was a complete neat freak, and one of the first things she did coming into Mike's place was pick up the trash laying around. Her own room back at the Sorority house was spotless, and Mike's place usually was by the time she left, with the exception of those few fights that had her throwing things at him. "Other than that, I'm a pretty easy going person." She said coming back with an innocent smile on her face.

A small smile played on Aideen's lips as she glanced at the cigar on the table Logan brought with him earlier. He had his own quirks and interest, but personally she felt he put up with her oddities far more than she had to with him. With her conditioning, it prevented her from ever doing what she wanted. She had never been able to just lounge next to him or even talk freely about her past. At night, she'd jerk at the slightest noise in her light sleep and sit up clutching a knife. She would stop whatever they were doing to eat on schedule automatically.
Her idea of fun was to solve complicated math problems and playing with Fermat's Theorem and reading classic works of literature while once in a while putting together a puzzle. Aideen was odd in comparison to the other girls that had concrete hobbies and interests, and on top of that she came with a psychotic stalker. With all that combined, Logan had a hell of a lot to put up with from her. All Aideen had was his cynical nature and love for a good fight, which wasn't anything huge for her at all.
It was thinking about things like that which seriously made her wonder the appeal in her, although logic would dictate it was for the sake of a challenge. "For the record, give me a good bar brawl over a candlelit dinner in the moonlight any day," she said choosing not to share any of the odd aspects about her or Logan's relationship together. Instead she leaned against him comfortably, hand reaching out to pick up one of the cigars he brought with him by the table, knowing he liked to light up after a meal. And before one, and sometimes during one.
She unwrapped the clear packaging for him and almost like a ritual, handed it to him so he could bite off the end before she lit it for him. It had developed as a an unspoken pattern over the last couple of months, earning a joke of how she was his own personal lighter. Aideen didn't mind though, it was actually becoming familiar and comforting in it's own odd way, with or without words.

"Actually, couple dealing with the other's oddities and habits are usually a concrete sign of a relationship holding any weight. Statistically 80% of couples end their relationships because of lack of communication and intolerance towards habitual behavior's from their significant other. That is generally why more and more couple live together first before settling down to anything serious or more permanent such as marriage," Dylan said settling his arm around Ingrid while sipping his Thai iced tea. Fleeting thoughts that contained statistics and facts would go through his head whenever he heard something like this, and he usually went on before he realized that everyone was giving him weird looks.
His own relationship with Ingrid was almost surreal in many ways. Dr. Dylan Blaine knew many, many, many things, but he had no idea how he managed to land a girl like her. Never mind that she was a famous model and movie star, but she was just incredibly beautiful, and sweet, and smart, and just everything that guys like him didn't get. She was the type of girl that would normally sneer or laugh at guys like him. It was like when he was 13 and attending Harvard with all the sneers he got from the other students for being so young and wearing glasses too big for his face, all the girls that had even a fraction of Ingrid's beauty would sneer and point at him, even ones his own age.
It had taken him almost three years at Xavier's before he felt accepted, and even then it was only after he started helping others with their work. In truth, Tracy and Mike had been the only ones that ever tried to reach out to him and see him as something other than the freaky genius kid. To be called a freak at a school for mutants wasn't exactly something to be proud of, but it became bearable once he got friends.
With Ingrid, she never made him feel like the odd one out. She listened with rampant interest at any of his ramblings and actually interested herself in anything that made him happy. Because of that, he never took her for granted. He was smart enough to know that he'd never find someone else like her and he planned to work harder than he ever did for anything else to make their relationship work and last. "I did also take to experimenting with combining the theories of different psychologists as they apply to people of different races and mental conditions for my research. I'm already finishing up my next book with my findings," he quipped as an afterthought after a moment.

"Another book? Cheese and crackers Dylan what's that make five six books now?" Mike had started collecting Dylan's books, but after the fourth one he just couldn't justify another doorstop that heavy. Even if they were autographed he could barely make it through the titles of the damned things. He never understood why the titles of Dylan's books were a whole sentence or two long and the third book title was half in Greek or maybe it was Latin or hell, for all he knew it could have been Martian.
"But yeah, well communication is not Lai's problem if you haven't noticed, me on the other hand- eh- but I'm working on it ya know." Mike grinned sheepishly and then looked at his woman with a thoughtfully furrowed brow "I really am, well, starting right now. No actually I meant what I said when we talked on the phone before dinner, so really I already started hours ago- I just forgot about the whole mutant thing. I mean for me I guess it's just second nature and since my ability to link up with things isn't all that noticeable and I don't really do it when I'm with you I just .. well, it never came up."
"But I always did love those little trucks and the whole remote control action and.. uh.." He felt the look from Wolverine and Ember and couldn't help but look that way to see the looks on their faces as they no doubt had never experienced the thrill of a monster truck as it crushed over a giant beer can and some matchbox cars. "Yea, well I guess you have to be into that kinda thing but, well, so sue me - it relaxes me and it takes me back to my youth ya know? I ain't gonna apologize for it, it's just a fun thing for me." He folded his arms across his chest and sat back shrugging, his bottom lip stuck out just slightly, but for only a moment. In the next breath he sat up and quit pouting as his babycakes return to sit by his side made him happy once again.
"She's great though, I actually am inspired by her. All her cleaning and everything" he winked at her as he wrapped an arm around her "made me say to myself- 'Stud, if'n ya picked up a bit then you and that fine filly would have more time ta roll in the hay' and yeah, I use the John Wayne voice when I really want to make point with myself." He gave her a squeeze before looking to Mason and asking "So you spend a lot of time on the car, huh? I gotta ask though little brother, you ever take time for practicing what I taught you?" He pointed his finger out like a gun and then pulled his hand back pretending to twirl and holster the invisible piece on his hip.
