"Yea, we're on the right track lady, and now ya gone and got me all worked up and we'll never get back there to see what's gonna happen. Hell I don't want to go back if it means one of us will stay and the other be asked to go. I ain't that kinda guy darlin and you should know that by now. Home is where the heart is and Angel Eyes, that's with you. Yer my very own mansion on a hill, my cozy little cabin in the woods and the place where I proudly place my heart on the mantle, I need ya in my house cause you are my home." He had never felt as sure of any woman he had ever loved before.
It may have been the fact that she could hold her own in most circumstances, but still needed him on a certain level just as he had grown to need her too in a way. It could possibly have been just the personal compatibility or the sheer physical attraction that at times was overwhelming, but he knew they were both far deeper than that. He thought it might be more along the lines that he could see himself moving through time with this young woman, becoming old with her.. if old he would ever be allowed to become, and being happy as he was right now for all that time. Whatever the reason he didn't care to be in a place where she wasn't.
"Yea well nobody's leavin if I have my say. I ain't lettin em force you out and I don't care who I gotta convince or how." He looked her in the eye with a snarl, playful on the surface yet bubbling of rage underneath, truly a devastatingly hot look for the man who's animal presence pumped his woman's heart full of lust. "It ain't gonna come to that, but if it does I got no reason to stick around without ya and a pile of dead ex-friends and co-workers ain't gonna look good on a resume.. I'll never teach in that town again." He snickered.
He hated being a teacher, but in a way he was cut out for it. The way children seemed to flock to him, to know instinctively that he was a good soul, and a kind spirit made him hate to see the weakness within him, yet in a way he liked it too. If he did just leave it all behind him his life would be far simpler, less demanding and less confusing. "Yeah, I don't really think I'll miss it. It's like an extended family, and maybe yer Uncle's got it right about family.. it can be overrated."
Twisting all the images of faces, the faces of those he considered family, like some rubix cube in his mind he remembered what he did the one and only time he ever picked one of those things up.. he smashed it against a wall. "Yeah, I could leave outta there with you, ya got any place in particular ya ever wanted ta see?" He pulled her hips down, pulling her onto his lap harder so she could feel what she was doing to him "One condition though, huh.. no books." He grinned.

"Eh I don't know Trace, they look the same, but I don't know if I can say they haven't changed as a whole though," Mason said thoughtfully, tearing his eyes away from Tracy's behind as she bent over the bags and reaching over to grab a fresh soda. "Dylan's got a hell of a woman on him, and I'll be honest I still don't really see how he managed to grab someone like her. No disrespect to him or nothing, but its unreal for a guy like him to get one of the most famous women in the world and rated one of the most beautiful women in the world. I still can't wrap my head around it." It was almost as tough for him to get used to as it was for him to get used to Aideen and Logan being together.
In that sense, the weekend had been both baffling and eye opening for Mason. Two couples that never in all he had seen and done could he have imagined to be together were, and damn it all if it didn't throw him off his game. Here he was, thinking that there was little that he missed with his sharp senses, and then all this he was hit with all that at once... well it humbled him a bit. "Mike, well I hope for his sake that Lai forces him to grow up. I didn't like her all that much at first, but she grew on me. I will say that she's just the kinda chick that Mike needs to get a bit more serious. I think he changed more last night then he has since he left the school. I will never forget the look on his face when Aideen laid into him though," he said snickering as the image came back in his head. They had all been extremely shocked at that, but Mike's face was just priceless.
"Na, it did good for us to be here. I'll be honest, I don't care if we were selfish for getting out, s'far as I'm concerned we deserve it. We're not X-Men yet, and even they get a break once in awhile. It ain't realistic or fair for them to expect us to be on call all the time. Besides how often do we really get out? I barely have the past couple of months, and you haven't taken a pleasure trip in how long now? Don't even sweat Trace." He caught her eyes and gave her a hard look. Mason knew she put way too much guilt on herself when it came to being needed, and frankly he hated how easily others took advantage of her. He had literally taken away her cell phone this weekend because he didn't want her to be on call and looking out for anyone other than herself.
"We'll go back and we'll be right back in it like we were before. I'll give you back your phone and it will be back to life pretty much." He pointed a finger at her with the hand that was holding the soda. "But I'm serious about Vegas. We need at least the weekend there and we'll have a blast. That oughta hold us until the next trip we decide to take. And with those two." He looked over in the direction of the bedrooms and back at Tracy. "We're most likely really gonna need it. I don't know where we will go again later on, but we will damn deserve it." He smirked at her and leaned over to push the bags by his feet to the side.
"When we get home though, it's gonna be some stuff I know we're gonna have to deal with. Bobby mentioned that some shit was hitting the fan, and you know that Rumble is somewhere or other in that mess. There is never a break from that guy," Mason said with a sigh. "Burns is gonna be running around creating more chaos with Joce back home. And what we got this week, one on one Danger Room sessions I think, and then I gotta take a kid to mentor this week cause Cyke's been on my ass about it.. I have no idea why or how I'm supposed to do it, its character building or some shit." He scoffed and twirled his Star Ultrastar around his finger in annoyance.

"Oh don't get me started on him" she shot Mason a look. "I know, I know, we're not there yet so don't sweat it. I'm fine. I can only imagine what Aideen's little friends did this time though. I hope none of them bit off more than they could chew with old Brock." She had a feeling though that the animosity she had felt building in Aideen's room mate was going to be coming to a head soon enough and if Bobby's message held any meaning to Tracy it was that that circumstance, or something very similar, had occurred.
"Now I'm really worried but I'll do my breathing and I'll get through it like I always do." It had been a long time since the days when she would go nearly catatonic at the influx of all the emotions surrounding her plus her own. She had mastered a technique of breathing that helped her most times, but it wasn't infallible. "It's just I know what I was feeling from them and if Brock gave them a reason, well.. they think they can take on the world. Like LIMBO is a big deal or something and if they lived through that they can handle anything." She scoffed.
"We've seen that and far more, and Brock is one of Emma's own hand picked Hellions. Did Bobby say who got hurt or how bad?" She sat on the edge of the reclining chair as the wolfhounds swirled around her legs, getting as close as they could to her without bumping her, out of some respectful adoration that she just seemed to generate in them. "Because you know those kids are no match for him on any level."
She shook her hands out as she sat there and closed her eyes taking a few long slow breaths. The anxiety subsided, and the dogs respected her space enough to let her be until she was just about to open her eyes, then they each took to sniffing at a hand and gently let their tongues tickle her fingertips. "OH! Hehee, you tickely boys." She smiled at them as she opened her eyes and petted each one on the head quickly. "That's better, I just expect a mess when we get back there, so sorry for letting it get to me and uh.." she looked at him with raised eyebrows cocking her head to the side "you can keep my phone boo." She didn't mean forever, but for now she really meant it.
With another deep breath she was on to a different topic. "Vegas, yes.. that'll be great and we'll get a chance to see if Mike can put his money where his mouth is and live up to Lai's expectations-OH, and the goals he set for himself." She smiled back over at Mason, not wanting to have to go through the time between right then and all the long hairy-viscous days until their next vacation. "I know that realistically not a lot is going to happen in a few weeks with him, but who knows. I have a good feeling about them. As for Ingrid and Dylan, well I hope they invite us to the wedding, I have a REALLY good feeling about those two." Her smile beamed for only a moment with the joy she could recall feeling between their old Team Captain and his gorgeous girlfriend.
"Oh, Mason what a crazy life we have. I can't even think about facing another day back there.." her smile turned slightly to a frown as the school wormed it's way back to the front of her mind ".. so I'm not gonna." She forced her smile back on her face as she took another breath and forced the thoughts of the mansion back into the place she had tried to chain them. "Vegas will be here soon enough, right?" He didn't need empathic powers right then and there, Tracy was wearing her heart on her sleeve in the most adorably brave way, trying her best to put on a happy front.

Her stomach contracted at the sharp intake of breath she took, arms tightening around him. Nuzzling the hair by his ear, Aideen smirked while trying to keep her shallow breaths steady. "No books? Does that mean I have to disregard all I read? That would be a shame," she gently kissed the skin around his ears, lips teasing around his earlobe. She knew he spoke from the heart to her, and even when his words were harsh she trusted that no lie ever left his lips. It was a new thing for her to have someone that cared for her as much as he did, and she would do anything for him in return.
She had been with other guys before, two in total before Logan, but it was never anything like what it was with him. Sex had always been a means to an end with Stones, they had a deal that worked in both their favor, and Aideen knew how to keep him happy to get what she wanted. Before him had been the man in India when she lived there for about a year for training. Enjoyable as those times were, nothing could compare to the way it was with the two of them. It could have been for a number of reasons, from the attraction and lust between them to the deep understanding that passed between the two of them, more likely a combination. No matter what, Aideen wouldn't trade it for anything, and at that moment was enjoying the exploration.
"I read that after a major fight, the physical intimacy is supposed to be virtually exploding with newfound vigor and passion. Apparently, the muscles perform a fermentation at an increased rate and the gland secretes pheromones mixing with the hormones, and the effect causes the mind to go hazy and is supposed to bring the most primal and animistic urges to the surface as the two beings collide to ride out the rush," she said, one hand moving up to bury itself in hair on the back of his head. "But ah," she brought her mouth up to his ear, breathing lightly on it. "I probably shouldn't keep believing all those books huh? Talking about the school is a bit more practical and productive," Aideen said while shifting her hips ever so slightly.

That shift found him straining against his Levis and needing to get free. He had a lap full of heat squirmin there on him, and like she took a ticket at the deli and ordered a pound of meat, he was gonna deliver. "Oh ya know, maybe a book or two ain't such a bad thing now and then."
He grinned as he kissed her. Holding her head as she had held his he laughed slightly into the kiss. Spinning and cradling her in his arms he slid her across the bed sideways knocking folded clothes and a half packed bag onto the floor in a heap. Taking a pause to pull back and look at her beauty he asked gruff and low "Now what did I hear you say about animal somethin r'other?" A single muscle twitched above his eyebrow yanking it up sharply for a split second. The teasing look was all to telling.
"Naah, ya know what? Forget all the talkin.. why don't you show me." He didn't give her a chance to answer anyway as his lips found hers again and his fingers found buttons and zippers that needed undoing... in the most serious of ways.

"Just a couple of weeks, and we'll be out of there again," Mason said lazily, already looking forward to leaving even if they didn't come home. Not to say that he didn't like the school, it was his home, the only true one he ever had. The X-Men became his family, and the people there were the only ones he really ever gave a damn about. Despite all that, he still needed a break from the chaos that came from it every once in awhile. "Bobby said that Rumble slept with some high school chick and pretty much everyone went apeshit. Man I can only imagine."
Mason shook his head and took a drink of the soda. "Cyclops's gotta be at the end of his rope, and I can only imagine what he's going through. I don't need to have your powers to know how much this whole crap with Rumble's been getting to him. He was glad that I took Aideen outta there for at least the weekend, although he did threaten me something good if I let something happen to either of you," he said with a slight smirk, drumming his fingers on the arm of the chair. "Bobby never said who, but shit man you know Rumble, you can only imagine what the hell happened. I'm betting we'll hear all about it when get back, so save your breathing till then." The smirk on his face deepened slightly at how cute she looked with the breathing.
He finished his drink and stood up from the chair, stretching slightly. "I'll bring some of these into the car. I'm assuming these are all packed?" Mason grabbed the two huge full bags of items and lugged them towards the door. They were heavy even for him, but he could deal with it. "Finish up Dollface, I wanna get going soon," he said going down the stairs and putting the bags in the trunk of the car, trying to fit them in just right. "Focus on the good parts of going home Trace, you'll see Joce again, you get to give everyone the little gifts you got them," Mason said a couple of minutes later as he was coming up the stairs. "Vegas'll be here soon enou-" He stopped and sniffed the air for a minute, furrowing his brow. "Is something burning?"
