Ian walked with Lorelai in silence up the stairs, reflecting on the whole meeting in the Hanger, chaotic as it was. In truth, he was alright now for the most part and proud of his friends for their accomplishments. He looked down at his cute blue haired girlfriend and smiled a bit. Having her safe and knowing she was with him was the silver lining in his day.
Ian stopped them in the foyer and moved his arms around Lorelai's waist, bringing her closed to him in a gentle hug. "You doing ok Pipsqueek?" he whispered with a small smile. She was his main concern right now.

Lorelai walked with Ian away from the Hangar, in silence again. She was glad to be out of there, and she was glad that feeling so much better after the older girl healed her. She didn't know what she'd do if she had the burns and the pain for too long. At least now she could return to normal, or relatively so. There had been so much drama, so many crazy emotions flying around the place, and to get out of it and just be alone with Ian was all she wanted.
When he stopped them in the foyer, she felt his arms go around her waist and pull her closer into a hug. She let out a small sigh of content as she wrapped his arms around his middle and leaned her head against his chest. "Yeah, I'm feeling a lot better," she said quietly, looking up at him and returning his smile. She was happy to be alone with him finally after being cooped up in the hangar for so long. "How are you?" she asked, smiling a bit more.

Ian sighed and rested his head on top of hers. How was he doing exactly? Physically he was fine just a bit sore. But that would go away soon. Mentally he was also alright for the most part. In truth though he was worried. He was worried about Aideen. Granted, the girl didn't like himm for nothing, but Ian admired her. She was a kick ass fighter and one of the most selfless people Ian had ever met in his life. And she was not well. He missed her cold and sarcastic demeanor. She looked like an empty shell now. Like she lost someone dear to her, which she did.
Then Ian was worried about the future. What if he lost some of his friends? Or worse... no he wouldn't think of that. Ian unconsiously pulled Lorelai closer and kissed the top of her head. He would protect her and not fail again like he did today.
But he wouldn't voice all that to her today. Maybe when they were together a bit longer. Instead he said the first thing on his mind. "I'm a bit worried about Spitfire. She looks so bummed and... I don't know heartbroken almost," he said with a sigh as he cradled Lorelai to him.

Lorelai smiled to herself as she felt Ian's head resting on hers, and felt her smile grow as he pulled her closer and kissed the top of her head. She wrapped her arms a little tighter around him as she listened to him speak, and nodded under his head. "I know what you mean. I don't know her that well, but I still can't help but worry about her too. You're right, she looked almost heartbroken, and over Wolverine and Nightcrawler too. It seemed they were closest to her," she said quietly, lifting her head up so she could kiss him softly and let it linger for a bit; she'd been wanting to do that since she couldn't in the hangar and it felt too long of a time.
When they broke away, she smiled at him before leaning her head against his chest again and closing her eyes for a moment, comfortable where she was.

Ian sighed contently when she reached up to kiss him, kissing her back slowly and softly. He didn't feel the need to rush anything between them. She was so sweet and made him all warm to just be able to hold her. When they broke away he leaned against the wall and rubbed her back slowly just enjoying the closeness of her. Lorelai's presence seemed to make all his worries disappear.
"I don't know babe. I'm just glad I got you," he said in an unusual quiet tone. Ian wondered how long they could go on like this and get away with it. After the way it went today, he knew better than to try and go up to Lorelai's room with her. Not to do anything just to be in her presence and talk until they both felt better. But she looked exhausted and he was tired too. But not tired enough to want to leave just yet

Lorelai smiled at him as he leaned against the wall and she leaned on him gently, figuring he must be tired as he rubbed her back. It was a most comforting gesture to her, and it only made her happier that it was him there and no one else, really. With him she was pretty much all fine.
When he spoke, she looked at him and smiled even as he spoke quietly, which was unusual for him since he was normally louder than that. She was wondering as well how much longer they could get away with not having gone to their dorms yet, but hey, she wasn't complaining. She knew that tonight they'd have to go their respective dorms, so she planned to stay in the foyer as long as she could. She was tired, and she could tell he must be too, but she didn't want to leave yet, though she couldn't help but ask, "You're not tired? You seem it," she said, looking up at him again, her arms wrapped comfortably around him as she smiled a bit.

Ian looked down at her as she was nestled comfortably in his arms and grinned crookedly. "Yea a bit. Having your guts torn out and being shot in the kneecaps does that to a person," he said with silly grin. Thank god for his healing factor. When he looked at her cute face, Ian just couldn't help himself and leaned down to kiss her nose.
"We had a long day babe. As much as it would blow to leave you now, we both need the sleep." Despite his words though, Ian kept his arms securely around her not loosening his hold in the least bit.

Lorelai smirked and nodded, "Yeah, don't remind me," she said with a laugh and shaking her head a bit. She was glad he was alright after all that, though seeing it happen to him was disturbing to say the least, but still, thank god he could heal himself otherwise he'd have been in a much worse state that she was, but what with HeartString coming in that would've been fixed. She then giggled when he kissed her nose; that was so cute and so was he.
"I know," she agreed, nodding her head a bit, "We do need the sleep, but I don't want to leave yet either, but we're tired," she said, her speech almost turning into a mumble, and didn't miss that though he said they both needed sleep, he kept his hold on her as tight and as secure as it was, and she didn't loosen her arms around him, either.

Resting his chin on the side of her head, Ian sighed not wanting to move but after the long day they all had, he really didn't feel like pissing off anybody, particularly Cyclops. He looked like he had enough on his mind without needing to worry about a couple who refused to part and go into their respectful dorms. Either way, had Ian not been so tired he would have probably evaded going back to his dorm for as long as he could get away with it.
After continuing to hold Lorelai close to him for several more minutes, Ian reluctantly pulled away very slowly. "C'mon Pipsqueek. We'll get some sleep and do something tomorrow," he said and he looked down at her with soft eyes and gave her a crooked smile.

Lorelai felt Ian's chin resting on her head and smiled. She knew that sometime they'd have to go upstairs to their dorms and go to sleep as much as she didn't quite want to, but remembering Cyclops's commands, she knew he was not one to piss off. After a few more minutes of just standing in Ian's arms, she felt him pull away and a little frown came on her face, but nodded in understanding at what he said. They were both quite tired, and both needed their sleep.
"Okay," she said, returning his smile and taking his hand and slowly lead him up the stairs to head toward the dorms. When they reached the spot where they had to go their separate ways, she stopped walking and faced him. She rose to her toes to give him a good night kiss and a warm smile. Slowly letting go of his hand as she looked at him, she walked off to head to her room.
Getting into her room, she let out sigh as she shut the door. Her clothes were light, and suitable for bed, so she just slid into bed and covered up. With a yawn, she finally closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep with ease.

Ian allowed her to lead him up the stairs and smiled when he notes how much easier she walks now that she had been healed. He squeezed her hand and dreaded letting it go. It had been a hard day and he wanted to spend as much time with her as he could. Ian was greatly comforted in her presence and was a bit sad that he had to let her go so soon.
After giving her a long kiss goodnight and one last hug, Ian fel a bit at loss when she let go of his hand and went to her dorm. He watched her for a minute as she turned the corner to go into her room with a small smile on his face. Ian turned to go back to his room lost in his thoughts. He thought about Lorelai and wondered that if today hadn't happened how long would it have taken them to get together. He also wonder why that Haven girl hated everyone so much. There was definately more to the story, and that mainly had to do with Aideen. He had a feeling that there must be a very good reason that Aideen didn't attack Haven since she was responsible for Nightcrawler being gone and probably Wolverine too. It must have been something big too. And then he still couldn't help about the missing pieces of the story today. Ian knew that what something bad happened in those woods and he shuddered to think how Aideen so selflessly sacrificed herself for them
Ian went into his room and threw off his clothes till he was just in his boxers. He laid on his bed and right before he went to sleep, he decided several things. He was determind to find out the whole story from what happened today and first thing tomorrow, he was going to find his little blue haired Pipsqueek and take advantage of her comforting presence.
