Shadowkat kept pushing Elixir along swiftly through the openings they could find among the crowds, knowing the stage was still their target. The demons who were crowding near and around Belasco seemed to have been opening more of a path for them, fortunately, though as the phaser could hear amongst the noise that there were demons still after them. One came up behind them, yelling about how he would get them, and Shadowkat quickly turned her head behind to see him about to thrust his sword forward to stab her. Immediately, like she had trained herself to do in situations like these, she phased, and phased Elixir as well as she could see the blade poking through the air where her solid middle should have been. "Keep moving Elixir, run girl, run if you can," she urged the girl in front of her, still keeping contact, still phased.
The demon tried again to stab her in the back, only to find it sailed through her like before. Quickly solidifying again she let one hand off of Elixir's shoulders and used the opening to swing her boot out, up and high to kick the demon in the face, and off to the side away from them. She placed her hand back on the girl's shoulders and kept moving her forward, becoming distracted for a second when she saw a familiar but immense and extremely bright red beam of light pierce the sky. A small gasp escaped her as she knew that was none other than Cyclops' eye beams, which meant he was here on Limbo, and there had to be others with them.
Cyclops! He and others must be here! Ohh, I pray Belasco doesn't recognize it.. she thought as she snapped back to reality quickly and moved her charge along swiftly, closer and closer yet to the stage where Wolverine, Nightcrawler, and now Diesel and Haven were.

Looking through the crowd Niki tried to catch a glimpse of Elixir or Shadowkat and just couldn't seem to move her eyes or head any longer. It scared her and made her mad all at the same time. It made her feel like when Sabertooth would hold her down and rape her, powerless to stop him. How did they always sap her powers? 'I'm sick of people taking away my powers, keeping me caged, Screw this. I am gonna rip somebody's guts out. LEMMIE OUT OF THIS And I'll SHOW YOU ALL!' she screamed inside her thoughts, her mouth frozen still she could make no noise. Then she felt a spark of something as she also felt an evil grip on her heart.
Her power was returning, as she was slipping into a demonic mindset. The dulling of her mutant ability was wearing off as she filled her mind with thoughts of evil, hate, and the pain of her life. Pain that she wanted to revisit on so many others. Her lip curled up as her forcefield pressed at the insides of the shackles, her eyes beginning to glow red with the demon fire growing within her.

Ian's eyes were glued on the red Optic blast that lit up the sky, knowing of only one mutant capable of that. We're not here alone! That's Teach's blast! There's others here! Oh crap.... there are others here, he thought with a dreaded feeling hoping his friends were safe. Man I hope Pipsqueak ain't here. She'd fry! I can't lose her, he said in his head before he noticed the odd and scary change that came over Haven. "Babe?" Ian questioned when he saw a wild look come in her eyes. "Haven babe?! What the hell is happening to you?!" he said in a fearful voice.
Belasco must be doing something to her. NO he can't I can't let him. I gotta fight to keep her here and alright. "Oh HELL no," he mumbled and moved in front of her grabbing her face and looking at her. "Haven, c'mon I know you're there. Fight whatever that ass is doing to you babe. C'mon Haven girl, we need you don't let him do this," Ian said frantically, scared for his friend that he just promised to protect. "Haven please, fight it. Spitfire needs you around, damnit I need you. The girl I got to know is hell of a lot stronger than this, don't prove me wrong babe," Ian said in a louder voice. He didn't care what happened to him, but he liked Haven and the others needed to be okay. Nightcrawler gotta be okay and for Spitfire's sake Wolverine too. I can't let her lose Haven for him or him for her. Better they both get a chance and not me, he thought ignoring the lump in his throat. "Come back to me Haven girl," Ian said quietly.

Being prodded forward by her teacher, Sara had no time to contemplate that she had only narrowly avoided being stabbed by the demon or more accurately that Shadowkat had only narrowly avoided Sara being stabbed by phasing her out at the moment when the demon's blade would have sliced right through her middle. Trying not to make a sound as they approached the stage, Sara could hear her heartbeat in her ears so strongly she was sure it alone would give them away. As they walked she could hear demons all around them murmuring and with each sound she thought that the demons had discovered them. It was this fear that kept her from paying as much attention as she should to the ground. Lying on the ground in front of her was a small piece of rock. Sara tripped over it and fell to the ground, attracting almost immediate demonic attention. She really could do nothing right here! As one of the nearby demons came over to see what had happened she looked up at her teacher with a PLEADING look. She assumed the demon had figured out what they were. She only hoped in the back of her mind that her assumption was wrong.

The demons all reached out for little Elixir, Shadowkat was unable to get to her before they would, and she knew it. They grabbed her groping and clawing at the oversized cloak and tearing it to shreads. Then tossing her into the crowd and passing the human around as claws and fangs tore into her flesh, the demons howled with delight. His attention drawn by the ruckus Belasco spun looking at the delightful display of bloodletting and grining for a moment before lashing out more of his glowing magical chains to snatch the girl from the crowd. "Ahhh, yet more of the lost collection." he mused as he wrapped Elixir in chains and pulled her to the stage. A roar of disapproval and many gnashings of tooth and fang let Belasco know his minions disapproved of the decision to keep the girl from them. " For the sake of The Mistress's enjoyment, I say hold your venom. SHE will be amongst us soon, I feel her presence and know her to be arriving in mere moments. Would you want to be the one to be held responsible for her displeasure?" Belasco pointed to a random demon who's eyes grew instantly as wide as serving platters. "Or you there, how would you feel about answering for our pretty one losing out on what joy I'll have waiting for her when she arrives?" He pointed to another random demon who had a similar reaction. "You have all been invited! Yes mutants, you have as well, to The Ceremony of our Lady. It is quite an honor, now stand still and I will collect you two." Belasco was speaking to the group at first but then zeroed in on Shadowkat and Diesel. "Do please give me a challenge though, there is still time to - Kill. AHHhahahahhaHAAHAA!!!!" he laughed a sick twisted laugh as he taunted the Teacher and her young charge, toying with them.

Shadowkat tried to move as fast as she could when Elixir tripped over the little rock, but wasn't fast enough to save her this time as she saw with a look of horror as all the demons went after her little charge. "No!" she yelled, watching as they went at her like hungry animals until Belasco took Elixir away and chained her. She looked up at the stage to see that Diesel was the only other of her little group who was not yet chained.
Seeing that the demons were paying attention to Belasco for taking Elixir away, the phaser took the opportunity to get up onto the stage to get to her last charge. As the ruler of Limbo went on about pleasing 'The Mistress,' whoever she was, Shadowkat moved lithely to Diesel and looked him over to see that he was alright. She looked away from him as Belasco then addressed them, looking right at them next as he taunted them. Narrowing her eyes, she grabbed the Acolyte's wrist, ready to phase and maneuver evasively. Trying to get the others out the way it is now will make us sitting ducks. Evasive phasing might make us a bit of a harder target to capture, though I can only hope it will last us long enough until Cyclops and the others come, she thought, wishing there was more that she could think of to do even though she knew Belasco was toying with them.
"Diesel," she said in a low voice, "When we phase through things you have to hold your breath while in them, okay? We're going for evasive action here, at least until the others can get here. I hope," she explained as she phased them both though it didn't look like they were phased. "Deep breath," she whispered so low only he could hear, and with that they sunk into the stage while she levitated them both across under it so that they popped up on the other side of where everyone was chained, hidden from view until Belasco found them again, which Shadowkat felt would probably not take long.

'No! He's right, can't give in to this...' Niki was feeling overwhelmed with evil. Her emotional buffers, the tough-girl attitude she always used to hide behind, were failing her and something was worming it's way in. 'Diesel...Aideen, oh help me...God, somebody help me....' she thought and then as if someone flipped a switch her minds twisted.
'God? Aideen?Deisel ? ? ? HA! What have they ever done, oh and lookie who has come to save the day now!' she thought the demon will taking hold of her spirit as Shadowkat made her way onto the stage. "You!" she screamed at Kitty. "You come to help now!?!'' Her power was forcing out from her body now bending the chains that were nigh unbreakable save by the power of true and absolute hate.
"No one has ever helped me! All I have done I have had to do myself! Every eye that has ever looked on me has firstly and lastly looked with contempt! I have forever been hated and have learned the lessons well, now I will hate FOR-EVER!!!" Haven screamed out, her voice growing louder with each word until it rattled the very pillars of HELL ITSELF.
With an unearthly 'KwAAnnG!' the chains burst off of her. Landing on the stage in a shambling heap. Haven spun eyes a blaze looking at Diesel and Shadowkat as they ran from her, ran away and refused her as all others had, like her parents, like her foster family and like Magneto and the Brotherhood. They had all left her, left her to her own devices, her own abilities. Now her abilities knew little bounds, she was a demon- A DEMON IN HELL!

"NO HAVEN!" Ian yelled as he watched his new friend transform into a demon right before his eyes. His heart felt crushed as he realized how badly he just failed. I should have tried harder! I should have forced her to listen to me and calm down, he thought frantically as he watched the new Haven in front of him. "Haven don't please! Damnit babe I know your stronger! Think of Spitfire, think of me damnit! Fight this shit girl, COME ON!" Ian yelled desperately as he felt his insides crumble. I promised that I'd watch out for her, that I'd protect her. And I totally failed at this. Spitfire is never going to get over this, and its all my fault, Ian said in his head as he focused on Haven.
Shadowkat grabbed him and pulled him with surprising strength as he looked at them with with helplessness. "Kitty Teach, I don't give a shit if that red thing of shit got me. We gotta get them out of there. We gotta at least get Wolverine out for Spitfire damnit!" he yelled before he held his breath as she pulled him through the stage. When they got back, Ian looked at her with determination in his eyes. "Kitty Teach, I ain't gonna give up. I don't care if they get us we gotta go back. They wouldn't give up on us and I know the real Haven's gotta be in there somewhere," he said ready to leap back onto the stage and beat the pulp out of Belasco to get the others out.

Encased in chains Sara somehow felt relieved. Each moment out in the crowd she had felt certain that she would be caught and killed, torn to pieces by this demonic host. As such she had become so depressed and felt so hopeless that she had acted carelessly, even recklessly. She had not thought about what she was doing and time and again had invited death by giving away her presence with noises or stumbling or some other indiscretion, and in doing so had endangered Shadowkat and less directly Diesel and Haven. Now she was going to get what she deserved. Now there was no longer any fear. It was going to happen. There was not guilt although there should have been with Haven changing into a demon in front of her. All there was, was an icy emptiness and a longing for the end.
Well, not all, somewhere under it all was another voice in the back of her head screaming at her to live. It was this voice that came out in the worst moments that somehow kept this pitifully weak girl alive when she had been on the streets. It had a flame and grit in it that she could not find in her own heart. She had half jokingly come to refer to it as Rebecca, as if it were another entity not part of herself, yet she was not crazy...the voice was hers, not another personality or entity. And it was this voice now that was yelling at her to do something. This voice that said that giving up was not an option, and that she must survive and the others must survive even if only to prove a point to the world that cast them aside as nothing.
Spurred on Sara looked forward to Haven and she glared at her, concentrating her eyes on her. She tried to drink in the girl's pain and anguish and her transformation into her eyes so that she would understand it. And when she seemed to understand she tried with all her might to summon up her power. If this demonic state was some form of transformation from life to something not quite life but not quite death, perhaps it was something Sara could effect with her tears. Indeed, when she infused Amos with life she had taken something that was not really dead, she had taken earth, and made it living, so why wouldn't that same idea work here in a somewhat different form. She had done it by getting despondent true. But she had gotten despondent not for herself but for somebody else. She had been worried about the other kids at the school, not just herself, and cried out of desperation that they needed a protector. When she raised her grandmother she cried for the old woman, not just for herself. She needed to cry for Haven. Maybe it would help.
So Sara slowly began to rock back and forth, with heaving rhythmic breaths, building up the tension within herself. As she rocked she thought of Haven. She tried to think of whatever good things she could remember about the girl. She thought of how Haven had risked her life to save Sara and the others. It wasn't enough. She had to change tactics. She didn't know enough about Haven. Well, she hadn't known anything about the kids at the school, like Leah, when she made Amos. She had imagined them as being kind and caring like her Chasidic community, and then transferred her feelings of love and her despondency over any threat to that community to the school. So she tried transference. She thought of her sister and attributed her sister's attributes to Haven. It seemed to work. She quickly grew despondent over the idea of her sister, now Haven, being turned into a demon. And the tears came.
The tears came first slowly and then fast. They poured over her cheeks and fell off onto the ground harmlessly and helplessly. She wasn't close enough to Haven for them to reach her. Something had to be done. She had to get close. But she couldn't move. She was chained. The only alternative was to get Haven to come to her.
With this in mind Sara decided to taunt the new demon girl in hopes that Haven would come close to retaliate. "Congratulations you can hate. What a charming ability," Sara said sarcastically, "Why don't you come over here and see exactly how powerful your hate is. I bet it has no power whatsoever."

Regrettably Shadowkat had been so focused on Belasco and on some escape plan that by the time she discerned Haven's screams and yelling from the rest of the demons it was too late, and she was a demon. No! Haven is a demon, and I couldn't help her in time! I've let her down, and I've let down Emma and Scott, I've lost one of our own. Oh, no, she thought frantically as it all caught up to her while she hid. She looked up at Diesel as he yelled at her, so determined to get them out even though she could see the chances of even him breaking the magic chains Belasco used were slim to none. Just brute strength wouldn't cut it.
"I do care, Diesel, but we have to keep ourselves out of his grasp until the others get here. Cyclops is here, and others have to be too. I know you want to fight and beat up all the demons, believe me I want to do what I can to save them, too, but we won't be of any use if we too are captured as well," she replied, trying to give him some logical sense in the situation. Just going out there and doing whatever would only get them captured quicker, and then who knew what Belasco and the demons might do. They had to hold out until the others got there, and then maybe things would get better. Keeping hope was getting harder and harder to do, and she looked at the ground as she heaved a sigh filled with regret when the Acolyte mentioned Haven.
"Haven can't come back. Once someone turns into a demon, all that was them is gone and only a demon is left. I'm so sorry it happened. I wish I could've done something more to protect her. I can't lose any more of you," she said, her voice low as she tried to keep herself calm and in a right state of mind. Haven wasn't one of the nicer student, but she was still a student of hers, and she was under her watch, and Shadowkat as a leader had failed her when she couldn't get there fast enough to save her. Inhaling, she regained her composure and looked back up at her tall charge. "Fine. We'll go back, just please, whatever you do, don't get caught, and don't let your anger get the best of you," she said as she could've sworn she heard Elixir yelling loudly at the demon Haven. What is she thinking? she thought almost incredulously as she took hold of Diesel's wrist again. "Hold your breath again," she said, and phased them down again into the ground they just came out of, going back the way they came underneath their captured comrades, and peeked her head out to see how far a safe enough distance would be to come up, away from Haven, who she was pretty sure was ready to just attack anyone then and there. They came up a few feet away, and she let Diesel solidify again as she remained phased in defense, ready to grab him should anything come at him. She just prayed they would last long enough for the others to get there in time.

With a colossal effort Logan lifted his head and looked at what had happened with Haven as he growled deep within himself. 'Damn. That kid is gone now, if only...' he struggled to even breathe. 'If only they had left us here. Now this place is going to claim them all one at a time. Kitty too, oh no.' The weight of his own head became too much for him to lift any longer and it dropped down again. 'How could Scott and Emma send kids after us here?' he thought as he struggled to keep himself in check, to prevent his own berserker nature which had so often been his salvation in times of absolute crisis, from taking hold and giving entry of the demon spore into his heart.

"Oh, oh dear....oh my...." Haven said spinning and looking at Elixir. A look of pure innocence on her face as she approached. Reaching up to touch her face she said "You have a point, I feel it going away now. Hate is not powerful, no not at all- oh how could I have been so foolish?" Niki walked slowly over to the younger smaller Sara, looking down at the stage and then slowly up. First at Elixir's feet with her ankles in chains, then up some more to take in her cut and lacerated legs and her waist with claw marks and rips deep enough so that the blood flowed darkly from them. Knowing the girl would be dead from the wounds soon enough if she didn't join her in her new demonic state- born again in evil as it were. Stepping face to face with Sara, Haven sighed before looking up into her eyes and letting loose a primal scream, intense, fierce, and born of all the hate she ever had felt from the depths of her dark twisted little heart. It had energy it reached out with rage and hellfire from the demon-latina's lost soul -it was raw and harsh and had intent behind it. If she had felt she needed to she would have taken a single forcefield shrouded finger and shoved the bright shining angel-hearted girl back on her stupid frail scrawny ass, but as it was the howl of a lifetime of hate Niki thought quite enough, especially considering the condition of Elixir's body, torn and shreaded as it was- to un-foot her and send her falling to the stage in a pile.

When Kitty phased them back up, Ian didn't think he'd ever felt as horrible in his life as he did right then. There was his new friend and someone he felt was on the same level as him, and he let her become this. 'Kitty Teach said she'll never be back. I failed her. How am I ever gonna be able to face Spitfire again? The only person that looked out for her, that saved her, and I let this happen to her. She's never gonna be the same again and neither of us will ever get our friend back.' The thoughts rushed through his head as he looked helplessly at Haven. "Haven..." Ian said in a helpless and sad voice.
He looked over at Elixir, who he had little pity for since she got herself into this mess simply by not being able to handle a crisis. He was concerned for her though, especially with the aggression he knew Haven felt toward her. Ian's gaze moved to Wolverine and Nightcrawler. "Kitty, we can't wait for the others. You said you been here before. Is there any way that we can get Wolverine and Nightcrawler out of those chains? I don't care if it puts me in danger, but they gotta get out," he said to her quietly as he looked at Haven with an aching feeling inside.

As Haven howled in her face, Sara smiled. The plan had worked. Well, at least part of it. She had provoked Haven enough to get her to come close and now if she moved quickly she could splash the new demon with a few tears and test her theory. Summoning up all her strength she cried as hard as she could and shook her head, almost comically, so the tears flew off her cheeks spattering on Haven's hand and face. Of course the trick would be whether Haven had her shields up. If she did it might still not work. Although it was possible the tears might penetrate. It was equally possible they would have no effect at all. Within a few seconds though Sara knew something was happening as where the tears had fallen there was a sizzling and steaming either off of Haven's forcefield or off of her skin, it was impossible to say.
All Sara could do is hope that it would work and try to keep crying, to maybe splash Haven some more. At the same time she was keenly aware that she was losing a lot of blood as she was quickly becoming dizzy and losing strength so that when Haven's roar hit her it effected her more than she wanted to admit. It made her whole body quiver as if the sound itself had physical force. Indeed, it had knocked her down, and she had to painfully pull herself back up with her knees and elbows, a difficult task while chained, to make sure that she could still reach Haven afterwards.
Now Sara had to keep Haven near so she could finish the job, if indeed it was accomplishing a darn thing. If the tears were to work she had to get Haven as wet as possible. So feebly, but determinedly, she spoke up again "Interesting little roar you have there. Needs some work. Shall we try it again?" As she said it her heart filled with dread though. The roar had not been little. It had been awful and Sara did not want to face another. If anything she wanted to just abandon herself to whatever it is had taken Haven as Haven now seemed at home and safe in this hellish place and becoming a demon was preferable to dying especially now that Sara was convinced that there was no paradise awaiting afterwards. Yet she banished the thought from her mind and repeated to Haven, "Well, shall we?"
So caught up in her deadly game with her demonic new friend, Sara completely shut out the rest of the world around her.

The howling scream that erupted from Haven made Shadowkat cringe slightly; she hadn't ever heard something like that and it was disturbing as she saw Elixir crumble to the ground as she cried. She heard Diesel sound so dejected after all that had happened, and hoped that nothing this bad had befallen the others, wherever they were. "I know we can't just wait for the others, but even still there's not much we can do. Those chains are magic, your strength can't break them, otherwise Wolverine would've already set himself free. However," she said, thinking back to past experiences in this hellish dimension, "Magic can take out magic, and I once had possession of something Illyana had made. The Soulsword, it can destroy anything magic - it could break these chains. It was so powerful that whoever had it would essentially be the ruler of Limbo," she explained, speaking in the same quiet tone her charge had.
She had remembered briefly having the Soulsword, a powerful sword made from Illyana's own life force. It was quite a sword, it could break anything magical, a creature or an object or a spell. It didn't effect anything non-magical, the only exception being Shadowkat herself, even in her phased state. The holder of it would be considered the ruler of Limbo, and she had had it before, though she was reluctant because of the dark magics, but she had held onto it. "I don't know where it is anymore, I haven't known for a while. It has to be here somewhere though, it just has to be. I just don't know where," she said, looking around in vain. Something that valuable had to be hidden for sure, but the phaser didn't know where it could be.
