Kevin had been dilly-dally-ing and when he finally came on to the jet he saw that his seat had been taken. His heart sank. It wasn't really his seat at all, but he thought maybe it coulda been since him and Frostbite and Diesel would be all sitting together because they had been getting along kindsa good and he didn't feel real close to too many other people. He felt kind of funny like he was not welcomed with them anymore because they had their cooler friends now, so with a frown on his face he walked to the back of the plane. But then he saw a seat next to Ember, and when they had been out in the desert they had been a very good team, relying on each other and all as they had been for what seemed like forever, so he thought she would be okay with him sitting next to her.
"Hi, this one taken?" he asked as he walked up to the firegirl and pointed to the seat next to her. It would probably be, or she would tell him it was, because that was how people always were with him. Kevin wouldn't mind sitting anywhere and he would smile at her the same, because she was incredable and he really liked her. She was like the coolest kid in the school really, she kept to herself and so he would understand if she needed the space. "If it's o.k. with you, can I sit here?" He smiled at her, his clothes were big on him and rolled up at the ends of all of his limbs, so when he shrugged his shoulders he almost was swallowed whole in the folds of the fabric.

"Yea, this baby will give us a nice smooth flight home. And we'd get there faster if Cyclops wouldn't give me a hard time about speeding with kids in here," Forge said with a chuckle as he adjusted the settings a bit. "You're looking pretty good for someone that's been through hell," he said to Kurt with a smirk. "Well I been a lot better off than you my friend, and you had to go through hell and back to learn that," he said with another chuckle.
"All that aside, I have been well. I brought you all a new student. Remember that boy I told you about once that our Elders praised as a prophet and really he was a mutant? Well he's all grown up and did all the training he could. Gotta say the kid impressed me. You should see him in action," Forge said obviously fond of the boy from his village that possessed such a unique ability.
"Anyways you're ready to get home I see. So am I for that matter. I got some business in the South that I need to take care of," he said before turning his head out the jet as the others came inside. "Hey Cyclops! Let's get this thing moving if you wanna be home in time for dinner. These kids seem hungry enough," Forge called as he turned the heating on in the plane to a comfortable temperature.

Sean got back from the bathroom after Cyclops reminded everyone to go to the bathroom if they need to. He walked back and smiled at Katie as he picked up her leg off the seat so he could sit down and then placed her leg over his lap. "I'm pretty sure we're in New York City Katie girl, it looks like all the pictures. Besides when we get in the air we could be sure when we see all the buildings," Sean said and rubbed her ankle gently as he yawned.
"I wouldn't mind coming here again and actually being outside. I heard that they make a mean pizza. My cousin went here for a little while, and he said that while they make a mean pizza, they sure don't make as good of a steak as they do down in Texas," he said with another yawn. He wore a plaid button up shirt that was a bit too big on him, and he felt a bit odd without his hat and belt buckle, but at least he was alive. "How you doing Katie girl? Rested a bit or still tired?" Sean asked looking at her cute sleepy smile.

Mason leaned against the side of the plane, keeping his eyes on Tracy as she came up to him. His eyes stayed neutral as he watched her come closer, taking in her appearance. She looked a bit disheveled but otherwise fine. Last night he left her alone for one second at the bunk bed to shower and he came back to see her passed out on the bed from exhaustion. Mason gently took off her other boot and gear before he tucked her in. He had sat on the bed and stared at her for a moment, just thinking that about what happened now that she knew before he went into a deep sleep.
Now as Tracy walked toward him, Mason black eyes studied her carefully, his heart speeding up a bit when she touched his arm. "Dreamt that we left Infection and the Inflatable Knife in Limbo. Kinda pleasant," he said with a smirk as he lead her to seats in front of the Fire Chick.
"You doing okay Doll? You were exhausted last night," Mason said, adjusting a part of his utility belt and sprawled out in the chair. They haven't said a word about what she know knew about him. At least things aren't awkward. I'm ain't good enough for her anyways. I know it as well as she does. Just keep it casual and it should all be good, he thought as his eyes scanned the plane as he did with all his surroundings.

Haven had been practicing with her forcefield the whole time in the shower and was just amazed at how she was able to control it, but as she was laying down she found it was not so easy to keep it under control. As she became more tired and started to fall asleep it gradually came back. She didn't think much of it as she considered it a good thing since she was in strange surroundings and she was probably just subconsciously defending herself.
She woke up and found some clothes in a nearby locker that looked to belong to someone about her size, the "W" on the tag led her to believe they must belong to the WASP, but she couldn't be sure. She dressed and followed the group up to the Black-Bird.
Bowing her head as she passed the Headmaster and Headmistress and their host Iron Man, she just didn't want to get herself noticed. She thought it might be best to just try and 'slip under their radar' so to speak. Climbing up the ramp she noticed the little clicks of people and looked hard to find Ember. Diesel was up front with his 'Pipsqueak', had to be her the way they were fawning all over each other, and two goofy looking girls drooling all over him. She shook her head and muttered "Get a life you two cows" as she passed them, just loud enough for them to hear her.
How could they be like that? Can't they see the guy is with his girlfriend? What classless bitches she thought as she saw Ember in the back of the cabin with a little blond boy standing there. "Hey, saved me a seat?" she asked sitting down next to the firebender. "Thanks! Who's the kid?" she said in an off-handed way as she adjusted her seat. She took a look at the boy and she could see that he had been through something serious, it showed on his face, she decided to take it easy on him and didn't tease him.

Ian yawned and gave Heather and Veronika a lazy smile. Veronika seemed really sweet and that was cool with Ian. Plus she gave him a Cocoa Puffs bar. "I slept pretty good thanks. Aw man we gotta get to the kitchen afterwards and hit the fridge. I could use a hot meal," he said with a smile. "And I'm open to all homemade cooking," He said with a grin and reached over to squeeze Lorelai's thigh.
He looked over Aideen when she walked in, a big grin coming on his face as he looked her up and down. "Man Spitfire, your looking good as ever," he called out sleepily. That grin turned into a snicker when Haven walked in and commented on Veronika and Haven. Ok so I really shouldn't be laughing at that cause the two babes are cool and all, but Haven is freaking hilarious, he thought as he stopped laughing. "Sorry about that babes, Haven isn't a people person, but she digs okay," Ian said trying to not let them be too offended by that.
Ian thought Heather was awesome though she probably didn't think that of him since she avoided him a lot. And the little red head seemed really nice, and he liked her accent. After the whole thing with Limbo, he got more attached to Lorelai and Haven had a special place with him, just like Aideen. "Can we please stop for food somewhere?" he called out in a slightly whiny voice.

Lorelai watched quietly as more people boarded the jet, her eyes watching each person for a second until they were out of her sight while she tried to wake up a little more. Seeing Heather get on she waved with a smile and saw her take a seat on Ian’s other side. She saw the redhead take the seat on Heather’s other side and then looked over as Hardlight got in. He looked sad before he walked away and it took her a second to move. “Oh, hey, uhh Heather, can you guys move over a chair or something? I want Hardlight to sit with us,” she requested nicely, giving them a quick smile before twisting around to call to her friend. “Haaardlight,” she called, dragging out his name slightly, “Come sit with us,” she said, waving him over a little.
At hearing about food, Lorelai turned back towards Ian and the others. “Any food will be good. I’m freakin hungry,” she added, taking her boyfriend’s hand after he squeezed her thigh. She couldn’t hold back a snicker as he started on Aideen again when she got on the plane; he wasn’t wasting a second. Then as Haven passed by and commented loud enough for them all to hear, Lorelai bit her lip to hide the faintest of smiles. Although when she was tired she was very prone to laugh at anything, she wanted to refrain because she gathered it was aimed at Heather and the other girl, and to laugh would be rude to her friend.
Yawning, she covered her mouth with her free hand and rolled her eyes at Ian’s slight whining with a smirk. She leaned her head back a little against the seat and looked down at the arm of her chair, taking another moment just to think briefly about everything. This whole thing would change everything, and she felt closer to Ian, and Hardlight even; she was getting surer that she was beginning to see him as a little brother. She wasn’t sure about the others she had been with, like Aideen – she could suppose one might never know with her unless she spared the time of day to bother with you. Even Sean and the others she didn’t know yet. They were all off with each other, and the only way for her to find out would be when they all got together. Not wanting to get any further into thought before she wouldn’t be able to get herself out of it, she looked up and glanced around quietly at everyone.

Squinting one eye shut as he lit his stub of a cigar, the first half of which he had smoked while walking back from the cigar shop he'd gone down to after the return from Limbo, he toked it to a glow on the end. "Nice diggs Tony, we'll catch ya 'round I'm sure." Logan said to the head honcho of SHIELD, Iron man himself.
There was no love lost between the two of them, as they had fought for the same causes side by side and also against each other over disputes of differing kinds over the years. In a career as long and varied as the one the Wolverine had endured morality and ethics smeared the lines between right an wrong, more times than not with the blood of loved ones.
Climbing aboard the BLACKBIRD Logan pulled a long tug on his cigar before seeing all the kids and realizing it would not be good for them to have to breathe his smoke. Young lungs needed to have a chance to be corrupted by their owners, not old grizzled men with a belly full of mean. He gently thumbed out the tip of the cigar and blew his lung full of smoke out the door before proceeding further into the cabin.
Taking the nearest seat by a window he looked to see an empty seat next to him. Anyone would be welcome to sit there, as long as they didn't bother him. He didn't announce that fact to the group, but his body language made the point all too clear.

As she had promised herself, Kitty did not sleep when she had the opportunity. She didn't want anything to eat, so she didn't eat either. She had watched the kids during their naptime; they caused no problems since they were all so tired there was no point in trying to misbehave. Having taken a shower and having her clothes washed she felt much cleaner at least, and when it was time to go she followed the rest of the students and teachers out. She nodded to Iron Man in silent thanks, as well as to both Emma and Scott, and boarded the Blackbird.
The seats were filling up as the students piled on and took their seats with their friends or whoever else, and she looked around for an empty one. The teachers were grouping too, but she continued looking until she saw Logan sitting near a window with an open spot beside him. Rubbing one arm absentmindedly, she quietly took a seat next to him. If she knew him well enough like she knew she did, he probably didn't care if someone sat there as long as they didn't bug him. Her mouth twitched as she looked to him. "Hey Wolvie," she said quietly, and then looked at the seat in front of her.

Smiling sweetly at Tony's compliment she nodded at the children and the teachers as they made their way up and into the belly of the X-Jet. It was a moment of deep contemplation for her, as she listened to what Iron Man had said to Scott about their students a feeling of pride filled her chest.
They were special, each one a unique individual. Such brave and wonderful souls. Their little faces still bleary with sleep and exhaustion, and poor Diesel looking miserable with hunger. "Ah Tony, always the charmer. Thank you for your help, and your compliments. It must take quite a lot to impress the Golden Avenger, the Invincible Iron Man, and I am pleased to know you feel that way about our kids. Bless you my friend." she said and leaned in to kiss him on the cheek. "Scott? Shall we?" Emma said as she took hold of his arm and let him know she was ready to leave.
On board the Blackbird Emma took a look at everyone who was present and counted them all including herself very lucky. It was an awful tragedy to have lost two of their own, but it could have ended far worse. She cleared her throat and said "Alright, everyone. We're going to be going home now. Make sure you're all fastened in and we'll get back as soon as we can."
Seeing the look of hunger and literally hearing the boy's stomach gurgling and growling she said with a slight smile, "I'm sorry Ian but the Blackbird simply wont do for any drive-through, so you'll have to hold on for just a few hours more. There are some survival rations if you are truly about to gnaw your own arm off, but they are hardly appetizing. You might be more satisfied eating your seat cushion." She stood waiting for Scott to come on board and for all the children to find seats.

Veronika raised a perfectly sculpted eyebrow at the white haired girl. Anyone else would think she was merely looking at her in innocent confusion. That albino looking trollop calls me a cow? If someone splashes black paint on her she will actually look like one. Just another classless waste of a human being. Blinking her large blue eyes curiously as Ian explained her not being a people person. "Oh I hope I did not do something to offend her. It is my first full day really and I would just hate it if I offended someone," Veronika said in a very convincing worried voice.
Much to her annoyance, though she didn't dare show it, she moved down a seat with a pleasant smile. "Of course we must make room for everyone," Veronika said sweetly. Better him than some of the others here. At least he doesn't look like a freak, though he is a bit wimpy. She scanned him quickly and was at least a bit satisfied he looked normal.
She glanced back to see the albino called Haven sitting with that Aideen. So she is friends with that one? Almost fitting. Both of them disgust me. That Aideen is just horrid. She acts so aloof and like she is better than anyone else. Just because she is somewhat attractive compared to the females here like the hobo and the girl that uses Smurf droppings shampoo, she acts as a superior to them all. Earlier the way she cried was nothing short of pathetic. In the arms of that grotesque hairy man, which just proves how horrible her taste in men is. Disgusting. With taste that bad she deserves that hairy half ape. And that albino. That's a future employee in a low class escort service. Veronika flipped her hair, not once faltering in her innocent and sweet stance as she looked back at Ian and his Smurf vomit loving girlfriend.
"Please do tell me what the school is like. Heather has been so kind and told me a little bit about it, but I would simply love to hear everyone's opinion so I get a good idea of the school," she asked sweetly at the couple and the little boy, putting on a wonderful and angelic show for the teachers.

Entering the cabin of the X-Men's super modified stealth jet Scott Summers surveyed his people. No longer mere children the kids, yet some of them were acting their age. It was forgivable, none of them were seasoned combatants, none of them hardened warriors, none but his X-Men- that was, until now.
"Listen up everybody...ok, hold it down...find your seats everybody....Hardlight, find a seat..." Cyclops watched as the Chaos seemed to subside and he didn't wait for them to settle before he kept right on going. This was more for him to let them into his heart and he wanted them to hear him, but on their own terms and not in some forced way. "I have something to say to you all." His voice softened from it's normal stiff commanding tone.
"I have come to know a few things in my time, I have learned the hard way about life, and death. I've seen friends turn to enemies and enemies to friends and through it all I have seen what it is that makes someone a hero." He looked at them all slowly wishing that the visor he wore to keep his power in check was not needed so that his kids could look into his eyes. He felt so distant from them and wanted to let them know what he was feeling, make eye contact, show them his soul.
"What I'm trying to say is real simple. I guess I get caught up in the preachiness sometimes, so I'm just going to be very plain here for a moment." he glanced at Emma for a second to gather his thoughts. "You all were more than impressive, you did what you had to do for each other, and I'm proud of you all. I don't want anyone getting down on themselves for anything that might have happened or that they think they could have done differently. You're all heroes in my book, you've got what it takes. When we get back to school we're going to hone that raw potential into the stuff of legend. It wont be easy, we'll make sure to challenge you all, but after what we have just been through I know you'll thank us for it the next time you are put to the test. For now though, I want you each to know you have earned my respect."
"Now, let's get home. Everybody find a seat and buckle up." He turned and spoke into the cockpit saying "Forge, we've been cleared to liftoff. Nightcrawler, I'll take co-pilot, you can get some rest back there." He stepped in to sit down as Kurt complied with his request and cleared out of the cockpit. Taking his seat he put on the headset and thumbed the comm link open "Forge, give the tower a countdown and take us stealth, we don't need any problems going home."

"Yes, I was pretty beat. I don't even remember getting my boots off. I-"Tracy was about to convey her concerns over who might have helped her when Emma came onto the plane and started talking. She watched the little guy and the younger girls fussing around with the seating arrangements and sensed a strange thing from the red haired girl Nok~Off. It was as if she was putting on an act since her face and her demeanor hid her feelings so completely. "Hmmm, Mase..." she almost said something to Ironclad about the girl, but she wrote it off as her being new and not anything more than her trying to be nice when she obviously felt rather hostile.
Before she could finish her thought she saw her own Team Leader walk in to the cabin and start to speak. She gave him her full attention as she wrapped both arms around Mason's thick strong bicep and rested her head against his shoulder. She tried hard to hold it back, but a slight yawn escaped her lips. She was still truly exhausted.
Listening to Cyclops as he let them know how he felt about them HeartString could tell he was being genuine. It made her smile and so did being next to Ironclad. She had known him to be a wonderful team captain, and an incredible fighter. She now knew even more about him and she relaxed into him, letting him into her heart if ever so slowly and gently. She waited for Cyclops to finish and she felt honored at his revelation to them all, she already knew how he felt about her and the Corsairs, but to hear him say it was another thing entirely. She wanted to give Mason a chance to speak his feelings too, it was important to hear the words.
Once Scott had gone into the cockpit she tilted her head up and spoke in a whisper to Ironclad. "You don't mind if I snuggle here on you...do you?" Looking at his face she saw the lean rugged young man with different eyes, and had a hope for something now, something special.

Mason watched with his usual hard and neutral expression on his face the others on the plane, scanning and scrutinizing them in quick calculations and little categories in his mind. That was one of the reasons that he got along with Cyclops so well, both of them had very calculating minds in every situation, though Mason liked to plan ahead for any possible events or situations. While Cyclops spoke, he eyed the others in the room, carefully watching their reactions.
His studying was interrupted by Tracy's gentle arms wrapping around his own. Mason glanced down at her, his expression softening at the slight yawn that escaped her. Aw hell. She better not look so damn cute in practice. Next thing I know Burns will be trying a cute yawn on me to get out of doing laps. I'll just make him swim a lap in the lake for that, he thought as his eyes searched her face. Damn she's one hell of a dame, Mason thought with a shake of his head. "C'mere doll," he said in a low voice and moved a bit closer to her so she'd be more comfortable. He placed his hand on her knee comfortably.
He wasn't the most emotional guy, never had been. He was straight to the point and said what had to be said. Never bothered with a serious relationship and chose his friends very carefully. Mason never liked to open an opportunity for him to get hurt, because that messes up his routine. Tracy was an exception, or a twisted sense of his own logic. When he started having feelings for her a couple of years back, he knew that he'd be hurt. He couldn't help it, and after two years he gave up fighting it. "I never said no to you before doll, now get some more rest," Mason said and used his other hand to smooth the hair away from her face before settling in his seat as the jet took off.
Now to think of new practice drills... he thought contently for the best distraction to keep his mind from wandering into even more dangerous territory. The area he knew was not good for him to crossover toward.

Aideen smirked slightly when Haven took the seat next to her. She gave Hardlight a neutral look, without annoyance or any that she may have given him another time. "Looks like your wanted elsewhere kid," she said softly. The little guy is alright. Tolerable to a degree, but he went through a lot in there. We all did. Aideen's eyes snapped to Cyclops as he spoke to the group, rubbing her arms to generate more heat for herself.
He had her full attention during his speech, calling them all heroes. A hero? Here I thought I was just staying alive and helping others do the same. Heroes touch people's lives in a way that changes them forever. Not many were able to do that here. Aideen fastened her seatbelt as she felt the jet begin to take off.
She pushed her hair over her shoulders and looked at Haven with a bit of a smirk. "You just couldn't resist with those two could you?" Aideen said glancing at the red head and Aqua. She stretched her side a little, now really grateful that HeartString managed to heal her in the elevator on the way down. Even though she looked less than her best at the moment with her red rimmed eyes and lighter skin, she would rather look like she wanted to score for a fix than be uncomfortably sore every time she moved.
