Aideen smirked a bit at Haven, the only close female friend she ever had. The girl got her without knowing a whole lot about her, which was the kind of friend that she needed, since she was quite a private person. "I'm gonna be eighteen in a couple of days. I did all my high school work so I can graduate the day I turn eighteen. I like the Paragons, Nightcrawler is an amazing leader, but I would like to see what its like working in the advanced teams," Aideen said quietly as she listened to the classic Bob Dylan song. The girl had a lovely voice, and music was something that anyone could relate to though she couldn't hear it as well as others from the back.
Their quiet conversation was interrupted by the sound of an angry Ian from ahead of them. It was noisy in the back of the jet, but she could clearly hear the words 'Fairy' and her dreaded nickname 'Spitfire.' Her elegant eyebrows narrowed in question when she saw a steaming angry Diesel get up from his seat and knelt down in front of her and Haven. "Diesel, is there a reason you kept coming close to shouting my name up there enough for Onyx who was sitting over there to actually take an interest in it?" she asked in a soft voice as she looked at his sincere face with suspicion for a long moment. Well, he was the one to tell me about Wolverine and Nightcrawler being alive. The guy does have a big heart, even if he annoys the crap out of me.
"Talk then. What is so important that has you shouting all over the place and bringing unnecessary attention to both of us," Aideen asked with a sigh as she crossed her legs and studied the large boy in front of her. She wondered why he was so comfortable around Haven, she wasn't known for being sociable.

Lorelai turned around to watch Ian for a second while he knelt in front of Aideen, who seemed a bit annoyed. She knew he'd probably feel better after telling her, and then punching Jumper, but it still worried her a lot to see him like this. It was the second time in a span of not even a whole day. That wasn't good, and she wanted to be able to do more to calm him down, but she wouldn't be able to until he got out what he needed to say and do, and until they were all settled back at the school. It would bother her until he wasn't angry anymore.
Hearing Veronika ask if Ian would be alright, Lorelai turned back to her. She heaved out a small sigh. "He should be..once he tells Aideen, and gets his hands on Jumper.. And yeah, I hate seeing him like this," she answered her, crossing her arms loosely over her chest and closing her eyes for a second while she waited for him to come back, hopefully somewhat calmer.
She opened her eyes as she was addressed by the large German boy who had seemed to just hate everyone from the beginning. If he hadn't used her most distinguishing feature to single her out, she wouldn't have known he was talking to her otherwise. Looking up at him, Lorelai listened closer than she normally would because of his accent, and pursed her lips for a second. "Well, this fairy is named Jumper. And apparently, he called Aideen stupid, said everything that happened to her she brought on herself, and was asking for it," she explained, her voice growing an edge to it as she still couldn't believe this was coming from Jumper who seemed to fawn over Aideen. That little twat had no idea what really happened, and what was known to probably only Ian, Lorelai, the teachers, Haven and Aideen herself. And it would go no further, either. The Acolyte would never reveal that to anyone, because although it was more than she ever expected to find out, if she were in Aideen's place she would rather no one know.
"He's way out of line for saying those things," she said, her eyes narrowed slightly at the thought. She had once thought he was cool. Turns out she, along with everyone else who thought he was, was wrong.

"Yeah, really...like I don't already have a zillion chores or some crap to do when we get back?" she said to Ian with a playful smile as he stopped before she and Aideen. "Now you're gonna come running back and drag me into- wait a sec....did I hear you say something about Jumper?!!?" Niki seemed almost to laugh at first and then her demeanor changed. The mention of her most hated Nemesis' name cause her to stop worrying about the consequences of any implications that Diesel's running back and yelling her name might bring about, or the fun in teasing him about adding to her self induced misery."I don't care what punishments they heap on me. I hate that guy like...like...shit you don't know how much I hate that guy. What the freak? And where is that chump anyway?" she asked, with eloquence and grace, as only she could.

Ian looked at Aideen intently, cringing inwardly at how sickly she looked compared to when he saw her in Limbo. Aw hell I shoulda waited... Too late to go back now, he thought as his eyes searched her face. "C'mon Spitfire you just got back to being you, I wouldn't bother you or get pissed unless I had a reason," he said and looked between her and Haven for a second before settling his eyes back on Aideen. "Spitfire, remember when I found you at the lake before? To tell you that Nightcrawler and Wolverine were alive? Well before then me and Blondie were at the library cause Pipsqueak said you might be there," he began and took a deep breath to keep from raising his voice. He knew better than to do that with these two, especially now.
"Well we saw Jumper there and all and I was like real worried 'bout you and I thought he'd be too since you two were mad cool and stuff, and I was saying how I was worried cause of all that happened and how you got Sabretooth away. Spitfire babe, he's a freaking ass," Ian spit and gave them both a small apologetic look. "Sorry I don't like to curse usually but he said you were stupid for gettin' Sabretooth away from us and that everything that happened to you, you brought on yourself," he said trying to control the anger that he had whenever he saw that guy.
Now Ian lowered his voice purposely because him and Lorelai said that they wouldn't tell anybody her business. "I told you what me and Pipsqueak discovered in the woods. Spitfire you didn't deserve that. Haven here is the best cause she got you out of it, but I don't know what I woulda done if Sabretooth stayed. He mighta gone after Pipsqueak or Blondie, and they can't kick ass the way you do, in Limbo you were like... I don't know a human weapon with these crazy moves," he said quietly and gave her a small smile. "I don't know why he would say that babe, but he ain't worth being called the ground that you walk on. If I ever catch that guy in a room alone.... man I don't know what I'll do," Ian said with hands balling up into fists.
He looked at Haven and gave her a grim smile. "Haven babe, I don't mean to piss you off more. Spitfire gotta know when her own team is backstabbing her," Ian said quietly and looked back at Aideen with searching eyes.

Heather watched as Ian's anger increased. It was actually a bit bothersome and it worried her immensely. However she knew that Lorelai would be able to calm him down as it was necessary. When he decided to get up and tell Aideen about Jumper however, she didn't believe it was a good think to do now. "Ian-" she began to say. But it was too late and he already stormed to the back of the plane. She sighed and shook her head and then looked to Veronika as she spoke to Hardlight and Lorelai. There was nothing else to do at this point accept wait to get back home and call her dad.
Hearing Lorelai speak about Jumper, Heather nodded in agreement. He was a very weird boy and she couldn't understand the sudden change in his personality. He and Aideen were very close when she first arrived to the Xavier Mansion. But over several weeks his whole attitude completely altered to someone people wouldn't and didn't like.

Mato listened pleasantly to the song, always being one to appreciate music in all forms. One of his favorite past times was listening to the songs performed in the Sacred Ceremonies in his village. His particular favorite was the praise for the Tree Spirit. A lovely voice and a noteworthy talent. The buffalo's creative and artistic spirit shines through more than ever now. I will not be surprised if I was to turn on the radio one day and here her voice along with Dazzler's on the radio, he thought with a small smile.
"That was impressive. It was quite munificent of you to share a gift as wonderful as your voice with everyo-" Mato's compliments were stopped when he heard Diesel's angry half shouts. The dingo is known to be passionate and loyal to the death. Though I do not know the entire story it is clear where his loyalties lie, he thought as he glanced back to see the Fire Beauty, remembering how she fought in Limbo. Her skills topped many warriors he had met in his past, and the Cougar that sat by her feet with it's tail wagging dangerously. The dingo is known for a good judge of character as well, he said in his head before turning back to Decibel.
"I see that peace among the school is short lived," Mato said to her quietly with a small smile at Decibel as he gave the Fire Beauty and Diesel their privacy.

"I ain't mad at you, don't worry bout it. But that kid Jumper really steams my veggies ya know?" Niki looked at Ember and let her voice drop down as she watched her friend's facial expressions. "If I ever catch him in a room alone, well lets just say I've known for a while what I'd do to him." It was one thing to be honest about not liking someone, but an entirely different thing all together to be a backstabbing son of a bitch.
At least Haven knew where she stood with Jumper from the start, not that Aideen would sweat that kid in the least but for him to be as two faced as Ian was saying was lower than she took him for. She bit down on her lip to keep from cursing him anymore, this was Aideen's time to vent and she needed to. Ember was tough, Niki knew that from day one, but right now she was still much like an open wound.
It was probably not the best timing on Diesels part. Now that everybody was craning their heads and weird ass wings around looking to see what was going on Haven wanted to bubble the three of them up in her forcefield and fog it up for privacy. It was the first time she ever wanted to do something that intimate with her power and it was for her Ember's protection. "So, what you thinking Ember?" she said in a soft whisper nodding her head to Diesel to come closer so they three of them might conspire on a plan to deal with the scummy punk ass Dumper.

Aideen sat back in disbelief, not even paying attention to the other people that were looking over at her. This... this doesn't make sense. What did I do? I thought I ran a good practice and challenged him for the better. He was a good teammate, we worked well together. What did I do to make him think ill of me? She blinked her large eyes a couple of times in confusion. Diesel wouldn't lie to me, he never gave me a reason to think he would. And he certainly isn't so prone to getting so angry without reason.
"I... I wanted Sabretooth to follow me. I brought him there, it was me he wanted. I didn't want him to hurt anyone else. I didn't think he thought so low of me to call my actions stupid, I always think my actions through..." Aideen said quietly, feeling quite betrayed and a bit hurt that someone she trusted on her team could do that to her. I guess I didn't do as well as a team leader as I thought.
"Diesel, thank you for telling me this, but this is my problem. I'll figure out how to deal with it," she said quietly and reached out to touch his cheek lightly, mainly to calm him down and reassure him that she'd handle it. "Calm down okay? I'm a big girl I can handle it," Aideen said before she retracted her hand. "I don't know why he would say that, but I'll handle it my own way. The betrayal of a teammate is not something I take lightly, since if I ever needed I would have depended on him during a mission. If you can't count on your teammates who are supposed to have your back at all times, then who can you count on?" Aideen said quietly, though now a bit of her South Boston accent came out in her quiet words. It only came out when she was a bit rattled.
I guess teammates are not the same here as what I thought. Guess I gotta depend on myself and those I trust. She looked over at Haven and smiled softly for a quick moment. "I'm alright okay? Probably gonna get pissed later on, but I guess I just got to stew in for awhile," Aideen said softly and let her head drop against the back of her chair. This just never ends really. My fault for such high expectations of my teammates.

Kate looked at Sean with wide eyes and said. "Spiderman? After all that you still wanna meet Spiderman? Well, sure why not?" she shrugged her shoulders and giggled at the thought. "But maybe next time, cause I'm a little tired of all the craziness, demons and superheroes. Present company excluded of course." she looked around making sure not to have bruised any feelings of any heroes in the jet.
When the song started she listened to it and smiled. She liked it even though she didn't think she had every heard it before and was sort of surprised that others knew it, or at least seemed to, as they sorta sung along with it. "Wow, she has a pretty voice." K'8 whispered as she held Sean's hand. She didn't want to say any more and ruin the song.
When the yelling began she turned her head to see what was going on with Diesel. She couldn't hear the details, but his voice was raising up in what sounded like anger. "What's wrong with him?" she asked Sean as he was closer to the action and might have a better idea. "I thought we were having just a nice ride home?" K'8 was confused because the acoustics in the cabin were still resonating with the music and it wasn't clear at all what he was yelling about. "Maybe he didn't like the song." she shrugged with a slight smile.

Logan waited until the song was finished before he spoke. He took a length of time to decide how to talk to Kitty. She was the most grounded soul he knew and she was a once upon a time optimist, who now that life had beaten her around found herself a reluctant realist. "You know as well as I do lady that this is the job. We fight for the ones we love and for the causes we believe in. Some of the time we win, most of the time we tie, and sometimes we lose."
He looked at her hands as he spoke. "I am grateful to be going home, but I would never say my life is worth anyone else laying theirs down for. She did her part, you did yours and they all did theirs." he said taking pause to look around the cabin at all of the children and adults in the very utilitarian space. As usual there was some kind of drama going on. This time it was with the strong kid and the girls.
Logan shook his head and turned to look her in the eyes and take all of Kitty's grief in. A slight smile crossed his lips. "This is life, the life we have been given Kitty, the life of an X-Man. It's not pretty or fun sometimes. Hell, sometimes it's worse than a nightmare, but it goes on. We keep on going because of them." he nodded his head at the kids. "They need us.... It's why I kept on going, you needed me. I will always keep going, for them.... and for you. You gotta find it in you now to keep going. It's what this whole thing is all about, the school....the X-Men... Charles' dream of a brighter, better future for us all. Some have to make the sacrifice, for some reasons less than worth it. In the end though, when every sacrifice is counted....they will make the difference."

Kitty couldn't help looking down at her lap when Logan started speaking. He was right. She knew he was, and she made herself look up at him, catching his eyes. "I know," she said, her voice low, and tried to return the small smile. She listened to him and nodded gently. "I know. I just feel horrid because she had to get sucked into hell. She could barely defend herself. But I know I have to keep going on..and I will. For my team, and everyone else who needs me. I'm just sorry I couldn't help Sara more..." she trailed off, heaving a sigh.
Sometimes she didn't know what she would do without Wolverine. He was such a big part of her life, and he had taught her so much and was there for her. She looked up to him, and he was a mentor and a role model to her. And she knew the life of an X-Man was hard; she had started off early as one when she proved herself, and even when she took time off, she still came back to it. An X-Man was what she was, and it was what she would always be, no matter how hard it got. Kitty was a tough woman; she could handle whatever might be thrown at her.
"I'll always be there for them, and I'll put a smile on my face for them even if I feel I can't," she said, glancing around at the kids on the jet. She leaned her head on Logan's shoulder and took a deep breath. Elixir's death would not become less important over time. Instead, it would be more of an incentive for her to work harder and be better for her kids. They would all be better off for it. "Thanks, Wolvie," she said, looking up at him to give him a small, but genuine smile. For someone with a rough exterior like his, he knew the right things to say and have them be truthful at the same time.

Hank had been whistling along to the song that Decibel played as he fiddled with this new device. 'Ah number three on my playlist. Always a pleasure to hear someone do Bob Dylan justice. If she plays 'American Pie' all the way through, that would be worth a curb on her grade, he thought throughout the song.
Hank looked up for a moment at the commotion and the mentions of Dazzler's concerns. "As long as know one will be thrown across the jet, we have nothing to concern ourselves. Though I cannot say the same for later on, but let's worry about that when the time comes," He told Dazzler and Emma and patted Dazzler's hand.
Going back to his mini controller, Hank mumbled to himself as he synchronized the setting of the Blackbird to the device and entered in all the correct passwords. "I do hope I remembered to lock up my lab. With Kelly Burns back early, I had no chance to prepare properly. I always do have mixed feeling about break ending. Though I do get to see some of the students, I dread the return of others. I will have to start the alarm on my cabinets again," Hank said with a sigh glancing at Emma who shared his burden in her own way when it comes to dealing with students like Kelly Burns.

Sean grinned a bit as he listened to the song, being only vaguely familiar with it. Sometimes the only word that he could think of to describe Kate was just cute, especially the way she talked about the others and looked so concerned about offending anyone. "She does have a real nice voice. Like from the bands that they showed on MTV, you know when they ain't showing any of them reality shows," he said before he turned his head at the commotion with Diesel.
Something to do with Aideen I see. He is awfully protective of her, kinda like he is over the other girls, Sean thought as he squeezed Kate's hand. "Na I think something upset him that had to do with Ember. He's real protective of her you know. I'm sure it'll pass, after what I saw in Limbo I'm sure she can take care of herself," Sean said to reassure her that it was not something that would effect them now.
"I'm sure our ride is gonna be peaceful now, I think everyone's really too tired to do anything. That and we all seem a bit drained mentally too. I don't think anyone got the energy for it," he said wisely and held Kate's hand comfortably. "Hey lookie there Katie girl! Its a flock of birds in a v shape! I rarely see those back at home," Sean said pointing to the birds that flew in the distance, looking like quite a sight with the sun setting.

"I'm sorry Henry, I thought I heard- did you say, Kelly Burns!?!" Emma stopped playing mental butterfly and brought her thoughts to the conversation before her. "You mean to tell me he's back at the mansion? With only three teachers to keep eyes on him? Oh dear god.... Scott didn't call him back early I don't believe. Why has he come back early?" Emma sat back into her seat and placed her head back slowly against the headrest.
"I can only imagine what he's been up to." She checked her watch and started to look out the window "When was someone going to tell me he came back from his parents early? Those poor people, his mother is such a sweet woman." Emma half thought to contact Karma telepathically, or to reach out with her mind and check the school for any other surprises that might be waiting, but she stopped herself. No Emma, give yourself just these few more hours of peace, you need them. Rogue, Karma and Colossus can handle things for now. she thought.

"Yeah, peace is more like a dream or a hope sometimes with all the drama at our school. But hey, you learn to live with it. Just promise me you wont get swept up in it all, cause you know something?" Gina looked at the kids in the back of the 'bird and smirked. "-It's somethin I for one try and avoid, and I'm way happier for it."
She looked at him and said in a tone that was not at all judgmental or envious, but just matter of fact "That is one wildass power you have Mato. If you don't mind me asking, what all can you do? I saw you flying on a glowing bird, and you looked like you had a big glowing bear next to you too. So I'm guessing you are a real animal lover, and you manifest these critters to kinda help you out? Am I close?"
Gina was interested in TrueSpirit for several reasons and on several different levels as well. Her questioning him about his powers was not just to make idle conversation, but also to get a bit of a read on him as a person. She wanted to see how comfortable he was talking about his mutant abilities. Then she wondered how much of his 'power' was mutant power and how much might be some kind of spiritual thing so she asked "Is any of what I saw magical power, or was it all mutant ability?"
