"I AM running!" Tracy said from barely a step and a half behind Ember. "They already had a meal right there so it's gotta be something else." She leaped over roots and ducked under branches, cutting a slightly different path through the thick jungle terrain then Aideen. "So why are they after us?" she yelled over to her teammate.
It didn't seem to make much sense to Tracy as they ran and being behind Aideen and taking a different trail an idea formed in her head. She wondered if wasn't just insane for a second before she called out "Should we split up?" Not being the greatest tactician she figured it would be Aideen's call and she would trust her on it.

"Ow, you pulled me up hard!" Kelly complained with a scowl on his face. Still, he did as Mason said and made the cliff and the area around it into a deep and wide molasses pit. The Raptors got caught in the thick sticky substance that trapped them instantly. The Raptors that were still tumbling down the mountain and right into the molasses pit, making Kelly point and laugh at their attempts to get out. "AHAHHA Look at the overgrown lizard thingys try and get out. HA FAIL!" he said laughing and pointing at them.
Kelly's laugh died when he heard a loud roar from the jungle and the sounds of trees being trampled. He gulped loudly and looked back at Mason with wide eyes. "Do we really have to go in there? Can't we sit around and wait for them to find us and laugh at them trying to get out?" he asked in a hopeful voice, but knew it would be a lost cause.
He shielded his head from the inevitable smack he was sure would come with it and gave out a loud sigh, glaring at Mason. "Ok FINE! We'll go and find the others. The chicks better be in bikinis," Kelly grumbled and began walking into the jungle. "Hey look Mason, its a monkey! All the way in that tree! Hey you think there are more around and we can play with them?" Kelly asked walking into the forest, not really looking where he was going, though he hardly ever did.

Mato looked down upon hearing Ariel's observation, his instinct telling him that something was indeed not quite right. The water below them was significantly darker than the water around them. Something is very wrong. The coral reef would have been much wider and stretched on for miles, he thought to himself and patted his heron. "You are right Ariel, something tells me it would be best if we moved away from this area and fast," he said quietly and urger the heron to go faster. The heron was an incredibly fast bird for one it's size and was extremely hard to hunt. It was a favorite of Mato's whenever he need to be airborne and it certainly was true to all it stood for and more.
The heron's wings beat faster and the two Corsairs held tight as it passed the dark object, but when Mato looked back, the dark area wasn't as far away as it should have been. And that is when it happened, poking out of the water was a pointy fin, that got bigger and bigger till it was roughly the size of a tree. Mato's eyes widened in horror as a body came out of the water that was one of incredible size. Then finally, the head of a massive shark came out of the water right behind them, the true king of all beasts with his mouth going open as he slowly caught up to them.
"Ariel hold on!" he yelled and sharply brought the heron up in the air. Mato had practiced a number of maneuvers in Flying class and Power Manipulation class on how to fly all sorts of birds. He mastered steering and controlling the Heron, working with him and holding tightly to the connection he felt with him. They sharply went in the air, just avoiding being snapped by the prehistoric sharks massive jaw. I had hoped never to encounter a Megalodon, the most feared shark ever in existence, but in this place any and all is possible, he thought steering the heron slightly higher and above the shark's body.
"It will have a harder time getting us if we are not in front of it. I'll steer us back and then-" Mato was cut off when the shark practically leaped out of the water, going right to them giving him little time to react. "Don't let go!" he yelled and moved the heron away from the beast's mouth, narrowly missing it.

Ariel looked at Mato when he spoke and confirmed that she wasn't seeing things and that something was wrong. When she saw his eyes go wide looking back she looked back again to see a massive dorsal fin sticking out of the water followed by an even more massive body. Her eyes went just as wide and she let out a quiet whimper only to yell "HOLY SHIT!" when the head of the megalodon came out of the water and it opened its humongous trap to snap at them. "I'm holding on I'm freaking holding on!" she yelled as she clamped her thighs tightly around the heron and held on even tighter to Mato as they only just missed being sharkbait.
Her normal level of composure seemed missing as the megalodon nearly jumped out of the water at them. "AHHH I HATE YOU CYCLOPS!" she whined and then continued, "Noooo way man!" she told Mato as she continued holding on. Just as they were nearly bitten again, Ariel growled and released one arm to free one hand, holding onto Mato with her other arm as securely as she could. Electricity arced up and down her arm as they swerved out of the way when the monster shark went back into the water. Regaining some composure a bolt formed in her hand and she looked at Mato while the shark moved under the water, taking a while to turn around what with being so big. "Hope you don't mind if I try to kill it," she said, figuring she'd show some respect for Mato because his power was based on working with animals, only this one was a big honking threat to them.
She shot the bolts of lightning that had built up in her hand down into the water aimed at the megalodon as it was almost turned around to come at them again. The water around it flashed and flickered, and it seemed to slow it down just a little bit more. "It's coming back around, get behind it quickly! I want a good shot at it when it comes back up," Ariel told Mato as she could feel the electricity in the air especially with all the humidity. The tropical weather would aid her in creating enough lightning to take it out if she could get at it long enough without having her or Mato being swallowed whole.

Aideen rolled under the branched of a low tree quickly got back on her feet, still dodging in between the trees to make it a little harder for them. "You tell me, you're the empath. They're either confused or threatened by us or just hungry," she said and ran weaving through the trees, narrowly avoiding a very obvious trap of a whole covered by a pile of leaves. Unfortunately, the said for HeartString, who got caught in a net and was hanging from a tree, a classic and effective trap that those who didn't know it would never have spotted it.
"Damn," Aideen said and formed a fire spear in her hands, nice and heavy but light enough for her to move easily. She ran back and jumped in the air, cutting the net easily that held HeartString and then jumping down and heading right for one of the T-Rexes. She didn't want a full on encounter, but they didn't have time to outrun them now. Aideen rolled under one of them and stabbed her fire spear up into it right between the tail. The T-Rex let out a painful roar and the one that was behind it reached down to snap at her. Rather than going back, Aideen used it to her advantage and put the spear right in its mouth before jumping right on the T-Rex's neck. This is a longshot, but Tracy might be hurt and their attention would be better on me.
From her place on top of the T-Rex's neck, Aideen sent a fireball at the other one, making him look at her and roar loudly. It lunged at her while on top of the other T-Rex's neck. She had to act fast, and luckily the jungle was an extremely hot place. Aideen had an easier time moving around through the air when the atmosphere was hotter, which worked in her favor in the current situation she got herself in. She jumped high in the air, staying suspended for a moment as the T-Rex bit the other one's neck. Aideen jumped down a little bit in front of them and moved back at the two began fighting, completely ignoring the girls.
Turning them on each other was easier than I thought, but those teeth were something else. She ran back to Tracy and helped her up. "Come on before they notice we're gone," Aideen whispered and led her into a more wooded area. They hid amongst the vegetation, careful of any hidden Cyber Nazis and traps, as well as predators. She looked up with wide eyes at the monkeys sitting high in the tree, hidden from predators. "We're in the primates' nest. Watch your step," Aideen whispered and looked around carefully. For a second, she swore she head the unmistakable voice of Kelly Burns. She stopped Tracy and waited for a moment to see if another voice could be heard through the sounds of the Jungle.

Mason nodded in satisfaction at the molasses pits that Kelly made. That guy may be a goofball and sometimes he suspected that Kelly turned his brain in a chocolate bunny, but he got with it and came through when he was needed and did use the instincts he had and that Mason and Cyclops worked really hard to bring out within him. "Nice job Burns. Good-" he was cut off by the sound of some vicious roars up ahead. He grabbed Burns' arm to keep him from going further before he assessed the situation. It sounded violent and probably needed to be approached cautiously.
"We're gonna ease into that okay Burns? Don't bother the monkeys and they won't bother us and watch out for traps. Stay behind me and try to keep your voice low, we might run into some more of those cyber Nazis or worse from the sound of what's going on out there," Mason said in a low voice and moved ahead of Kelly. "Don't touch anything."
They moved through the jungle cautious, narrowly avoiding a large python that Mason shot right in the head, silencer on. At one point though, Mason stopped walking and made Kelly stop. He could swear that someone was just beyond the set of trees and vines on the side of them. Mason put a finger to his lips to silence Kelly and had his gun out. He was sure it was a Cyber Nazi and he wasn't going to risk getting caught. Mason moved silently toward the area, gun in front of him. A small click was heard of him cocking back the gun as he moved for a good angle on whatever was there. He was so close he could practically feel another presence.

Mato made the heron circle around, trying to keep above the tail of the fierce beast. It's dark body was peaking out of the water along with it's massive fin. "I believe in survival of the fittest Ariel, but that thing will kill us before we can get anywhere near it," he said keeping his eyes on where the tail moved so they would stay behind it. "Remember Ariel the megalodon has bones, you may not have the power to take it out before you run out of power," Mato said looking back at her for a moment before looking back at the gigantic shark.
At that moment, the animal surprised both of them leaping half it's body out of the water and then going backwards, its snout and jaw directly next to them. Mato's heron had luck on his side, for it reacted on it's own and moved just out of the way. It was such a close call that Mato felt the sprays from the sharks nostrils just on his feet. "Keep holding Ariel, he's not going to give up," he said and flew the Heron quickly back to the tail, concentrating on linking his mind to his spirit's connection.
Mato looked back at Ariel briefly and heaved a sigh at the safety of his friend and teammate. "This has potential to go very wrong, but if you think you can get rid of the beast, I trust your judgment," he said and reached a hand to touch hers in comfort. "I will be there to get you out when I can," Mato said in a calm voice with the look of a warrior in his eyes. He did not feel comfortable with this blessing, but the Wild Mustang was fierce in the face of danger and their instinct took them to the right direction.

"I've got the weather on my side Mato. Tropical rainforests like these are extremely prone to daily thunderstorms and stuff. Either way, I think I can handle it," Ariel said, knowing she could deal a great blow if she focused enough, although a slight worry in the back of her head was there, if she couldn't kill it before running out of energy like Mato said. Just then the megalodon jumped halfway into the air and tried to jump at them, narrowly missing again. "Neither am I," she said, her eyes narrowed as she stared down at the water. She looked up at Mato when he spoke, and nodded. It was a gamble she wasn't totally sure she could win, but it was better than just flying around trying to avoid getting eaten. "I trust you to do it," she said when he touched her hand, and then gave him a quick hug as the huge shark turned onto its stomach again, its dorsal fin in the air again as well as a patch of its exposed back. Ariel looked Mato in the eye, a fierceness in them that matched the warrior in him and then quickly jumped down as the heron flew right over the shark's fin. As she jumped, bolts of lightning came down before her before she landed on her knees, her Corsair uniform taking the brunt of the landing on the shark's rough skin. Her hands would be spared as well when holding onto the dorsal fin. All the while, lightning shot from both of her hands as she grabbed a hold of the fin, electricity surging into the shark. It quickly realized what was happening and started to jerk around a bit, and then Ariel held on tight until a small opening came so that she could raise a hand into the air and use the atmosphere to her advantage. More lightning formed and crackled in the air, thunder rumbling as she harnessed it and brought it down the sides of the shark, down towards its head as it jerked around more. The way she had been holding on was less resistant than she would've liked and she was thrown back, rolling down its back as she continued sending lightning up front. Eyes, eyes, get the eyes, she thought as the shark paused for a moment when twin bolts went up the shark's body and struck its eyes like she wanted. Ariel took the opportunity to run back up to catch the dorsal fin again and let out a yell of effort as she leaned on the front of the fin so throwing her back wouldn't be as easy and let a large surge of electricty erupt from her hands as she placed them at the base of the fin. It spread out across the large width of the monster shark and into the water, spreading quickly around it as the shark tried to turn around quickly. It tried to rise out of the water to go after Mato and his heron and she held on as its angle went diagonal, blasting it with another high voltage attack. Ariel was getting tired and thankfully it was enough to weaken it and bring the shark back down before it could even get close enough to Mato. As it was starting to slow down, she took the opportunity to raise one hand in the humid, tropical air and generated a thick, bright bolt of lightning that branched off, and when it built up as much as Ariel could muster it seemed to go into her, though it was channeling through her into the massive shark and spreading into the water around them. It had caused a bright flash in the sky as well as a loud rumble of thunder and as it dispersed into the shark and around it there was even some smoking as its tough skin was covered in singes and it slowly stopped all moving. Luckily enough it was the final blow Ariel needed to deal that, with the help of the impure water surrounding them, would amazingly finish off the monster. She breathed heavily and leaned against the dorsal fin as the smell of fried fish started to get around the lake. Ariel felt wiped and weak, and tried calling out to her teammate. "Mato," she tried calling up to him, hoping he would get her before the other animals would come up and start feasting on a meal to last for months.

"If you shoot us Mason you will so hate yourself for it." Tracy said in a loud sort of whisper as she sensed exactly who was there. Cold comfort to be able to confirm it was Calorie and Ironclad even though amazingly Ember had made her presence seem unneeded, having seemed to look as if she had heard someone approaching long before HeartString could feel them. She felt odd for a moment, like she used to way back when she was on Storm's team, like she didn't matter, but she put the thought from her mind.
She knew she had worth even if she had difficulty sensing the very faint emotional signature generated by the Danger Room to approximate what an emotion felt like. She was often left feeling inadequate when they trained in the 'Chrome Dome', but an emotion of a hologram was a difficult thing to detect. The presence of her boyfriend and the wonderful clown chef Kelly Burns made her feel better.
Just then the sound of an electrical discharge, almost akin to the sound of thunder, ripped across the lush valley. "That way.." she said aloud more to herself than anyone else and pushing herself now, to make up for having been such a burden on Aideen and to confirm the obvious, she opened herself up to the distance between herself and the sound of the thunder. Feeling a hundred or more faint whispers of emotions, the synthetic hiccups and gurgling of what a computer though an emotion was, she could tell they had a lot of sneaking to do to get to Mato and Ariel.
"That's them over there, but we've got a ton of critters between us and them so we have got to be careful." She whispered to Aideen. Smiling at Mason and Kelly as they joined up with her and Ember on the edge of the Great Clearing of the Monkey Men. "Glad to see you guys, Ember's been busy saving my butt...and by the way thank you for that honey. But like I was saying, there's more than a hundred emotional signatures between here and that lightning blast...and that is Hotwire for sure, I feel TrueSpirit close by her too."

"Tracy! Hot Stuff! My two loves! Hey why aren't you in bikinis? It's hot out, why don't you strip down to- Whooaaa," Kelly said when the familiar flash of blue lightening lit up the sky. "Oh man, it's gotta be nuts for it to go like that. OH LOOK A BABY MONKEY!" he exclaimed in a really loud voice. Kelly always had a hard time grasping the concept of being stealthy or quiet, unless he was trying to sneak up on Wolverine and bother him, or Colossus so he could scream in the guy's ear and then run away.
"Hey you think that Ariel will be in that little bikini she always wears in the summer? It's HOT in here and she so should. Cyclops should make the danger room thingy show them all in bikinis. Or naked!" Kelly exclaimed and look between Aideen and Tracy imagining them in extremely small bikinis. "Man we should do that for my birthday! Hey Mason do I get to change more robots into food? I'm kinda hungry," he said loudly while walking with them.

Shaking his head at the mayhem below, Scott knew that Hotwire had just let the cat out of the bag. If even one Cyber Nazi's would have seen that they would all be on the prowl by now. Things were not looking to good, but better to be hunted by many small adversaries than one huge one, well he considered the philosophy for a moment before deciding it didn't really matter. Six in one...half dozen in the other I suppose, but at least she managed to generate nearly 3 Gigawatts in that discharge, that's more than two times as powerful as a natural lightning strike. Impressive.

The spear in Aideen's hand that formed at the sound of someone approaching disappeared when she heard Tracy call for Mason. She nodded at her and evenly looked at both Mason and Kelly. Her dark eyes rolled at Calorie and she shook her head. "It's no shock that I heard your voice from here. Try shutting your mouth for once Calorie, you'll be surprised how much easier things go for you," Aideen said in a cool voice. She was not going to deal with him blowing their cover. They may be hunted at this point with Hotwire's obvious display of power, but they needed to stay low and keep out of sight.
Aideen followed Tracy without questioning, learning long ago to trust the girl when it came to this kind of stuff. She prided herself on her tracking skills, but Aideen was smart enough to admit that Tracy was able to detect more people and creatures easier than she ever would. If it wasn't for her, they'd probably be shot and Ironclad would have half his uniform burned off. Aideen did her job and kept her eyes out, on her total guard and threading lightly through the forest to recognize any traps.
When they passed the two T-Rexes who were still fighting in the distance, Aideen glared at Calorie to shut his mouth as they moved past them silently and unnoticed. She heard a noise that sounded almost computer like from in front of them, stopping the four of them and looking to Tracy for confirmation. They needed to get rid of the thing or find a way around it. Getting rid of it was probably their best bet, they couldn't afford to slow down with two T-Rexes not far away.

Mato steered the Heron away from the massive amount of power that Ariel displayed. The Gods of the Skies granted her magnificent power, and she is making them proud with her glorious display of her gift. I must be careful to not get in the way, he thought as he watched with studious gray eyes. The one thing that Mato noticed the past couple of months is how everyone on his team possessed their own battle style that memorized him whenever he studied it. Calorie of course was for the most part all over the place and took him a while to focus on something. Ariel's style was as tough as she was, down and dirty, even scrappy and rough could be said. She was relentless and had a style all of her own. Tracy had a quick and flowing style, seeming to almost move effortlessly with all her training. Mason had a very precise and accurate style, relentless and merciless with a speed that was unmatched. Aideen had a style extremely similar to Mason's, though with her it was much more graceful and enchanting. When she moved, it was almost like an elegant macabre dance to music that only she heard.
Watching Ariel in the powerful display, using all her energy to rid them of a great threat that was almost inescapable, Mato knew that they gave their position away. Cyber Nazis were most likely on the run to the scene as it stood. Hopefully they can make it before they are spotted indefinitely. With the shark floating dead in the water, Mato saw the plesiosauruses already swimming over and more dark shapes formed in the water. He flew his Heron down at great speed to Ariel, reaching over and pulling her to him safely. "I got you, and I will not let go. You were very brave," he said soothingly and calmly. Her body was weak and drained from them massive power display, and Mato brought her in front of him as the heron surged forward, and just in time as well. The animals from the sea tore into the massive dead shark, biting through it's tough skin.
The heron flew them without problem to their destination on the other side without problems since the animals all flocked to the dead carcass of the Megalodon. Mato had the heron fly them right into the edge of the jungle before it landed them. He climbed off the heron carefully, with Ariel in his arms. Holding her with both hands, he bowed in respect to the Heron that flew them true and kept them safe. "Thank you my friend," he whispered. Mato glowed gold for a moment, as did the Heron, and it disappeared into him.
He didn't know if they had been spotted, for getting Ariel away from the water had been his best concern. For now that, he needed a safe way for them to move around. Mato called on the regal and strong elephant that his spirit had a deep kinship with and asked for it's assistance. "Assist us my friend," he said softly to himself. In the next second, Mato glowed a deep gold and in front of them came a large glowing full grown male elephant. The glow left them both and Mato bowed his head to the elephant, who knelt down so they may climb on. He walked over still carrying Ariel and sat her on top of the large elephant. "He will take us from here, and we may blend in. Are you alright Ariel?" Mato said as he climbed behind her to hold her steady on the large elephant. The elephant rose up and began walking through the jungle with the two of them on his back.

Ariel was glad Mato was able to get to her quickly, and decided the heron he was flying on was pretty damn awesome. "Thanks," she said tiredly with a small smile as she leaned on him while he flew them to the edge of the jungle, finally past the giant lake. After having so much electricity that she generated and had run through her her limbs felt rather limp and tired, like crashing after having one too many energy drinks. It was one effect of her power that she didn't quite like but it was something she took in stride. It was team practice after all, and maybe after this when she was back up to a hundred percent next time she could push it a little more- if she had to that is.
She saw Mato glow bright gold twice as the heron went back into him and when an elephant came out next. His power was fascinating, and it was so useful, and to see it in action was amazing. When the elephant knelt down so they could get on Ariel let Mato put her up first and then felt him get up behind her. As it started walking she leaned back onto Mato and let out a small laugh. "Yeah, I'm alright. Just feel almost completely wiped. At least I killed it. Sorry for probably blowing our position though," she said quietly, half expecting Cyber Nazis to come find them already.
Her eyes scanned the jungle around them as the elephant walked through. Ariel hoped they blended in enough, and hoped that the Cyber Nazis weren't smart enough to see two people riding a strolling elephant through the jungle. "We need to find the others, and watch out for traps and Cyber Nazis. If we come across any of those I'll take out what I can so we can all get out of here," she said even though she knew she wasn't in shape to use what was left of her power and energy. However giving her all was how Ariel was, and she would keep going until she couldn't anymore.

Mason let out a gruff breath of annoyance and whacked Kelly right on the back of the head when he was getting too loud. Just in time since they were passing the fighting T-Rexes. One looked like it was losing and Mason couldn't help but smirk when he caught a glimpse of bloody burn under one of their tales. That's our Fox right there. Between her and Trace, we'll get through this soon enough, he thought and put his hand on his girl's shoulder to stop her. Mason looked over at Kelly and gave him a grave look, nodding for the two of them to move ahead of the girls.
He walked forward with Kelly and signaled with his fingers three.... two... one! Mason pulled out of the underbrush with Calorie, gun out to face a Cyber Nazi. He pulled the trigger and shot the transmitter right in the center. Kitty's technology classes taught him enough about the common location of a signal transmitter on an android or robot. These Cyber Nazis were pretty basic so Mason knew exactly what to hit.
"Burns, now!" he commanded and waited till Calorie turned it into some edible food substance. He beckoned for the girls to come with them before they began treading lightly through the jungle. Twice, Mason had to pull Kelly away from stepping into a trap and whack him on the head when he tried to pet a snake. He looked down at Tracy briefly before keeping a watch on what was around them. "Doll, you got a read on where Chief and Reyes are at? I know Mato, he ain't gonna stick around after whatever made Reyes power up like that," Mason said in a low voice. Chief and Tracy complimented each other with their unique powers and as he understood, both of them we're able to pick out each other easily with their unique emotional and spiritual aura or something. He knew he chose well to put Ember with Tracy.
