Gavin's eyebrows went up and smirked slightly at the new hot Goth girl when Heather came to bother him as usual. "You must have some water in your ears ya damn gnome. She wants me to sing for her. She recognizes talent," he said sticking his tongue out at Heather and winking at the new girl. "You know what, just for you I'll sing a song after class how about that?" Gavin smiled at her and then made a face right back at Heather. "You should be careful, she's the evil blond gnome from Brooklyn. She'll punch you and steal your valuable to sell for multi colored rocks that she can add to her head. Run while you can!" he said in a dramatic voice and ran behind the table looking at Heather in a look of mock horror.
The look quickly turned into a friendly smile when he looked back at Katlyn. "I'm Gavin by the way, and the stick with big boobs that just passed is Sky. I like the tat too by the way. I got one done for my birthday," Gavin said and pulled up the sleeve of his shirt to show off the tattoo on his arm of a golden eagle with it's wings spread. "Hurt a lot but hey, I'm not regretting it. I may get more when I have the chance," he said with a slight smile looking down at it before covering it back up again.
He took one of the empty lightweight containers and chucked it randomly at Heather, trying not to laugh as it bounced off her head. "God Heather what's your problem? You hit yourself with my container and then make it so it almost hit the new girl. Woman where are your manners?" he said in a scolding tone before he burst out laughing. It was just too funny to piss the girl off. Gavin looked at Katlyn and shook his head gravely. "I'm sorry about her, she's just impossible sometimes. Its cause she has a lot of water on the brains, tragic part of her mutation," he said shaking his head solemnly before cracking a grin.

"Yo! I know, we are soooo gettin an A+++." Chase said with a wink. He knew as well as Decay that their project was going to be impossible to overlook, it was a stroke of pure genius. Amazingly they came up with the idea for it at almost the same time and they knew it had to be the project they were destined to do.
"Let's get ourselves all set up like the rest of them." He said doing his best to hold back the grin that was trying to escape him. He rummaged through the pile of oddities they had brought with them and looked up when Sky commented on the new girl. "Eh- yeah, she looks pretty cool, hope she ain't some wak-a-doo that thinks she's better than us all. Man I am about fed up with those types that are too tough or too cool to be real, but she looks like some fun." He said watching how she was walking and talking. "I think she's drunk!" he said with a chuckle "she'll fit right in I think."
"Hang on, let me get this all set up over here." he dug through the pile for another minute, burying his head and shoulders into one of the pillowcases that they had stuffed nearly to overflowing with items. Tossing out an enema, a headless teddy bear and a yo-yo before her said loudly "Eureka!" and pulled himself out of the bag with a kazoo in his mouth a handful of bubblewrap and a riding crop jammed down the throat of the rubber chicken.
He began to blow and hum into the kazoo and squeeze on the bubble wrap making a hell of a racket as he swung the riding crop and rubber chicken around in the air. With the noise building to a crescendo he crunched the bubble wrap up under his armpit and flicked his rubber chicken off the end of the riding crop to hurl through the air and see it land triumphantly on Katana's desk with all the brains in the jars . "Ka-Plah!" he said through the kazoo and nearly choked on it as he began laughing at the sight of all her little jars of brains falling off the desk onto the floor and her and Alex as they reacted.
"Oh god! Oh lookit that Sky, look!" he laughed so hard he almost had tears coming down his face. "It couldn'ta happened to a nicer couple a guys. BAAAh haa HAaahaAaa!" he blew the kazoo for a little while longer before it got too gross and soaked with spit on the inside to play any more.

Katlyn stood awaiting for an answer from the winged boy with a look of amusement on her face only to see a blonde girl come up and speak to him. Her head tilted to the side curiously as she watched what would happen only to be greeted by a flurry of people, some who gave her their name or commented on her tattoo. "Aye, I'm Katlyn Spencer, Ricki," she spewed off only to turn at the short haired blonde girl who complimented her tattoo and shot her a sly smirk as she went off to her table, spinning round to see a fellow goth girl and her cowboy boyfriend come up to her and introduce themselves, an odd couple for sure. It was almost like a dance she did where she stood as people came and went by her, saying their hellos and welcomes.
"Katlyn Spencer is my name, the odd and weird is my game, thank you for the lovely welcomes!" she sang out to them all, since it seemed to be moving fast to her as they were all setting up their projects. She turned back to the winged boy who introduced himself as Gavin and she smiled cutely as he seemed to insult the blonde girl. "Oh I would love for the pretty birdy Gavin to sing me a song!" she said, and then looked at the girl she had seen that was pointed out as Sky. She would remember that name as she seemed to be interesting and thought she should be fun to hang out with.
As Gavin showed Katlyn his tattoo, her eyes widened at it as if it were so interesting and she smiled happily as a finger traced over it softly before he covered it again. "You have a pretty tattoo! My lovely, if you like, I can do one for you...anywhere you want," she said with a wink and looked at the blonde girl who he had said had water in her brain and how it was a part of her mutation. "A bubblehead are you? Full of sloshy water that flows as freely as a girl with big boobs without a bra? That must be fun," she said with a sort of dreamy look on her face before hearing a weird cacophony made by the guy who was with Sky.
A mess was made of brains all over the floor and there were two students, a butch looking girl and a funny looking boy who seemed to be the owner of the now destroyed project. Katlyn began giggling and held her stomach. "Oh for the love of noise and destruction their project has been kerplunked! I suppose it's only fair, I wonder if those brains are fragments of the ones left in that person's and the one who looks like a eunuch," she said amongst giggles, referring to the butch girl first and then her partner. "I think I shall like this carnival very much, all the pretty madness is to my liking!" she said excitedly, still giggling as she stumbled against Gavin's table.

"Hey Tia," Heather said quickly before returning her attention back to Gavin. She stuck her tongue out, mimicking his response to her comment. Trying to piss off Gavin was pretty much a life's mission for the New Mutant. He was able to push her buttons so easily and frankly that was another reason that triggered her irritation. But something new was starting to bug her and that was her not liking the new girl's flirtatious ways, especially with Gavin. I'm being stupid, she concluded quickly before getting back to business.
As the Acolyte kept insulting her, she rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. "Yeah that's right," she said sarcastically to the new girl. "I'm the evil gnome from Brooklyn and I'll cut you." She rolled her eyes again and then said "Moron" to Gavin. Her attitude grew to anger however when the new girl pretty much insulted her (at least in her opinion). "Yyyyyyyyyyeah," she replied with a raised eyebrow. "Sure man whatever." Heather decided to ignore the silly girl since she seemed to be drunk anyway. Seeing Gavin's tattoo made Heather smile. She remembered when he first showed it to her. It was the same day they "jammed" together and she used her decent singing along with his amazing guitar playing. They bonded over the same music and that pretty much jump-started their friendship. Her reminiscing was cut off right away when she felt a container hit her head. With narrowed eyes, she stared at Gavin and made her "cute angry face".
Turning back to her and Veronika's table, she was lucky to be in the science lab. Each desk had a sink for washing hands and cleaning materials in order to not get chemicals mixed up or left on skin. She opened the cold water slowly, allowing it to trickle for Gavin not to notice. She smirked and gathered enough to create several pellets of ice. One thing she was proud about was learning how to control her powers way better than before. After turning off the faucet she quickly turned around to throw the ice right at his head when the smell of formaldehyde reached her nostrils. "Oh god," she said quietly while holding her nose closed. DON'T GET SICK DON'T GET SICK DON'T GET SICK, she begged herself. She turned away as to not see the brains or whatever it was that came from the jars.

"Sorry I'm a little late Loralai." Kevin was pulling a little wagon behind him, actualy he was facing backwards as he enterd the class. It was loaded up with the ice cream machine parts he had sculpted with his powers and they were all wraped up to keep them safe on the trip from the dorms. He was late because he had to make so many trips up and down the stairs and load the wagon that he had borught in from the shed full of tools that Colossus his team leader had for the garden that he was always working on. It was a beautiful garden
He had to bring the chunky parts that had teken him do ing some serious research on to see what they looked like and how denste to make them. He had gotten a lot more control of his power and found that a project like this was great for him. It didn't just challenge him physicaly, but also through his power and his mind with the precision of the pieces he had to sculpt. He was quite proud of the little ice cream machine and was going to keep it and make ice cream for all the partys that were to come. His friends deserved fresh ice cream.
But it had taken five trips down from his dorm room to the wagon that was outside. Then he had pulled it around the school to the schence wing of the mansion and then five trips up for the pieces and one more trip to bring the wagon up and then he had to load them all into it again and bring the whole thing down the hall to where he was now. He was looking a mightly sweaty and was tired from all the stairs, especially after the leg workout with Diesel that was still killing him from two days before. turning to say to Frostbite and anybody who cared about what was in the wagon "Whew, finally made it. Wait till you see this thing I - eww! BRAINS! Are those brians!?!"
He looked around at all the stuff going on in the huge lab room and was sort of overwelmed at all the things he saw. Maybe his little ice cream machine wasn't going to be the big hit he hoped it would be here today, but when the wehther got warmer he knew everybody would love it then. He rolled his way over to his partner and frowned a little at the scene he saw her flirting with Rumble and it hurt him a little, since he was still senscitive about losing her as he felt she was pulling away. "Hey is that a new girl?" he asked to his best friend once he got close and he started to unwrap the clunky heavy glowing pieces of his ice cream maker.

As her 'partner' in this excuse for Beast wanting to torture her came in and dropped the carefully constructed gliders the two of them had worked on with little care on the desktop, Niki looked up at her and started to see red. Not like she cared really about what grade they got, but she did...and not that she had any pride in her work on the project really, but she did on that count as well. Deciding, Niki guessed, that there were better things to do than go over the last minute items for the presenting of their findings and the demonstration they had rehearsed Tempest trotted off to play with her stupid little friends and giggle. The sound of a buffoon playing a spitpipe shook her from her malaise.
Looking back at the sound of the stoner ginger kid and his kazoo, Haven watched, knowing all too well what was going to happen. It was inevitable really, since Katana had made so many people on her old team hate her and actually she had invited so many other kids in the school to hate her too, that as soon as she had turned her back or left her station someone was going to mess with her stuff. It was funny and Haven laughed a little but reeled herself in because now was the time she had to be the woman she had said to Ian that she was going to be. She had to stick up for the poor unwanted kid who never really did anything but over-react and cry out for attention. Not fitting in shouldn't carry as high a fine as this stupid bitch had paid and it was time to let them all know that messing with one of her team mates was not going to happen.
Standing up and slipping her forcefield over her she had walked past Gavin and Ian just as coincidentally Aqua had tossed some ice at her winged team mate. It shattered off of her forcefield and she looked with burning eyes at Heather. A battle for another time...Chase goes down first... She walked straight at the goof ball Paragon and his skinny partner, desks sliding out of the way around her forcefield and as she got right up to him she said "If you know what's good for you you'll go help them clean up and save what's left of that mess you made. Nobody freaks with her anymore. Do you need to be the example?" Her eyes had a look of one who was completely in control of the situation.

Hank sighed at the commotion and walked to the back, since the room had gone considerably quiet when Haven made her way across forcefield up. She had that effect on people he had found in the time spent with her. He gingerly stepped around the mess and stood behind Haven, putting a heavy hand on her shoulder to keep her calm. "Come now Niki, I am sure Chase will grab the mop from the closet and clean it right up, won't you young man?" Hank said sternly peering at him over his glasses. He looked over at the mess, his nose quite familiar with the smell and not shying from it like others where. "Well at least there are still a couple of jars left of your project. Remember, I am more interested in the scientific background of the project and the hypothesis proved than quantity of material. If I see good research and effort, that is all that matters," Hank reminded the class.
"Alright while Mr. Maguire cleans up the mess, everyone else to your work stations! Quickly please, we don't have all day," he said and watched as everyone scurried to their work stations and began to set up. He patted Niki's shoulder and gave her a small wink. Hank honestly tried not to play favorites with his students, but in a school as diverse as this it was only natural. Niki was in many way his favorite student, though many of the staff failed to understand as to why. The more time he spent with the girl, the more he understood her and admired her in a way. She was an extremely strong young woman and surprisingly enough she understood a good deal of complicated scientific theories when he spoke of them.
Hank made his way to the front of the class and waited for everyone to get settled and silence before he spoke. "Alright then, you are all aware of the rules, but I will remind you one last time. Each team will be judged by their creativity, research, and the benefit of their project as a scientific procedure. Though I will be the ultimate judge on the winners, I ask several of the staff to come in and help me judge. In addition, your new peer Katlyn Spencer will be acting as the Student Judge. We will go to each station and you will present your project. In the mean time, I don't want to see any of you rough housing or horsing around." Hank looked right at Sky and Chase when he said that, briefly glancing at Heather and Gavin. "Be aware that some projects are delicate procedures and in once case rather dangerous. Any disturbance can be extremely hazardous, so anyone goofing off will get one grade lower on this project. Am I clear?" Hank said looking around at the sea of faces sternly.
"Spendid!" he said in a much more cheerful voice and then checked his watch. "The other judges should arrive at any minute and when they do we will begin. You have till then to go over your presentations with each other."

"Man this will be great. You think anyone made any experimental food stuff? I'm actually kind of hungry!" Bobby Drake said grinning ear to ear. He loved going to these things, well for a number of reasons. He liked interacting with the students, cause lets face it, he was probably the most popular with them anyways. Bobby liked to goof off with the students and didn't really go all nuts about that professional line as a teacher and all that, so he knew most of his students pretty well, some more than others.
Bobby banged open the door to the science class and smiled widely. "We're heeerrree! Oh cool Hot Wheels! Kitty, Logan check it out!" he said excitedly to the beaming Kitty and the grumbling Wolverine. "Heya Hank, we late? This looks great!" Bobby said looking around at the projects. His eyes flew to Hardlight who was setting up a very intricate looking machine. That was another reason that Bobby wanted to come, he wanted to see what the students in his class were up to with their powers and how they were using them now. When Hank said that many students were incorporating their powers into the projects, it piqued Bobby's interest to see what his students can do.
"Alright Hank who's our first victim, Muahahah!" he said in an evil like voice, winking at the class through his classic evil Mr. Hyde face. "Look I even came prepared see?" Bobby held up his clipboard with a scoring sheet on it to show Hank. From behind the scoresheet, a HUSTLER magazine fell on the floor and Bobby quickly bent down to pick it up. "Uh... I uh... confiscated that from Kelly Burns... he was reading it during class... Guess I... forgot he left it there?" he said sheepishly to Hank and the others before clearing his throat. "Ok so um where do we start?"

"C'mon Wolvie it's gonna be fun! Stop being such a sourpuss and judge with us!" Kitty said cheerily, following Bobby into the science classroom, dragging a grumpy looking Wolverine in by the arm. She was in a good mood after having some good quality time with Piotr and was all the more prepared to make sure Wolverine would come help Bobby and her judge the students' science projects. He had been grumbling and muttering to himself but it didn't stop Kitty as she kept on encouraging him and pulling on one arm with both hands to make sure he came, even phasing them through a wall so he had to come on pain of being stuck in the wall.
Kitty's smile was broad as she saw all the projects being set up and put on the tables, ready to be presented. She shook her head at Bobby's HUSTLER magazine and pulled Wolverine to stand next to her and Bobby. "We're all here Hank, let's get going I wanna see what they all came up with. It all looks great!" she said, a bounce in her step. She was especially looking forward to seeing what her team members had come up with, especially TuneUp's since he was into the technological stuff like she was. They all looked interesting and she couldn't wait to see what the students would show them.

Alex cringed at Katana and her scolding. He really couldn't do anything about last night. Being on those drugs made him nearly inoperable. He wished he had more self control yesterday and he would not have had to put his friend into a tough position. He took the script and began to absorb the knowledge imprinted on the paper. Mierda! I hate this class. I barely understand anything this paper says. I hope Leah knows what she is doing. I really can't afford to take this midterm.
Alex looked up from reading when he heard more students walking in with their projects. He had no scientific capacity to even try to guess what their projects were about beside a couple of the obvious ones. When He saw Diesel come in with Gavin it reminded him of last night. He would have to thank him for helping him out but that would have to wait till after class. It also reminded him to thank Heather for helping him too.
Alex was too distracted to get back into reading the script he was too busy trying to figure out who would be the strongest competition. Race track thingy, uhh, doesn't look too serious. Paper planes, doesn't seem interesting. Plants...those are always good for a science project I presume. Who am I kidding, I dont know the first thing about this dam class no matter how hard I study. And what the hell is that. He looked over too Chase and Sky's section to see a collection of what seemed to be useless junk.
Then the next second a rubber chicken was flying through the air threatening all that they had worked on. In a frenzy Alex tried to protect the jars but only succeeded in covering half of them. The rest of them fell over on to the floor sending the smell of formaldehyde in the air. Alex instinctively turned his head to Chase with the same anger as yesterday. Alex wanted so bad to go over there and rearrange his face and his legs began to move on their own accord.
But then something suddenly stopped him from going over. He saw Katana's new teammate Haven i think her codename is stepping up to Chase and pressing him. It really shocked Alex to the point where he was no longer angry. He tilted his head slightly and tried to comprehend what he just saw but to no avail. Then when Beast said that Chase had to clean up the mess, Alex was sure he would have no anger issues for the time being.
At that point in time he had just noticed a new girl in the room. Woah, I never seen her before. She looks like an interesting person. Kinda cute too. The door then opened causing Alex to turn his head involuntary to see the judges entering the room. His heart dropped. He was a nervous wreck. Alex hated presenting almost as much as he hated the cold weather.

Tia rolled her eyes as Gavin and Heather got into their usual 'daily fights'. The ice thing was actually a bit funny, but to someone like Tia, their whole 'game' just seemed pretty pointless. It's so obvious they fancy each other, why not just go out and get it over with? she frowned slightly as she waved goodbye to Veronika and Heather, as she headed in Haven's direction, who'd just been ushered back to the desk by Best. Tia hadn't really payed much attention to the new girl - mainly because to be fairly honest, Tia didn't care. Not at the moment anyway - nothing about the girl seemed to interest Tia too much. Her tattoo's and goth like apperance just tended to creep her out.
Tia slid onto her seat besides Haven, as she looked over at the gliders and then over at her partner. "D'you want to run through it once more?" she asked, her dead tone looming over her words as usual though she did intend to show a bit more interest in her tone. Their topic interested Tia quite a bit, seeing the element wind was involved, hence it would give her a scope of trying to understand her powers better.

It took all of Veronika’s willpower to not laugh at Katana’s disgusting project. She caught a glimpse of it, giving it the little attention that it deserved. Exploding rats? As if they could not get any more disgusting. It’s fitting though, seeing as it is fitting for two uneducated and poorly bred wastes of human flesh like those two. Oh I cannot wait for Mama to see those two hobos, she will be horrified that I am to be educated around such low class people. Not even the albino can stop the torment that I can set off just by speaking to a couple of people and batting my lovely eyes. Only reason I do not proceed is because those two are not worth the effort. Filthy low class louses. A look of concern was on Veronika’s pretty face when she looked at the mess, though when her eyes met Chase’s, the pretty sapphire orbs were dancing with amusement. “Oh I do hope it is salvageable, it would be a shame for it to be ruined,” she said in a voice that sounded genuinely concerned. Oh but no one would ever know how much she was laughing on the inside.
Veronika patted Heather’s back to soothe her from the smell and smiled at her. “The designs look great,” she whispered waving at Tempest just as the teachers came in the class. Veronika liked Kitty a good deal, Iceman too, but she just could not stand Wolverine. He was apelike and just simply horrible in every way. She couldn’t stand anything about him, from his appearance to his mannerisms and to top all that off, he favored the harlot. Not that she was jealous or anything close to that, hell she much rather it be the harlot than her or anyone within her inner circle. It was just simply disgusting on all levels.
Their project was all set up and looked absolutely fantastic, especially compared to the mess of Katana and that homeless Puerto Rican. The goth girl was just another addition to the freaks in the school. She may not be as horrid as that Zombie next to the hot cowboy Veronika so admired, but she acted like she belonged in a padded room. Did anyone ever tell her looking dead is not a style? How horrid.

With a million things going on in the room at once Katana was easily distracted and momentarily forgot about her annoyance with Chupacabra, so rather than meeting his silence with more sarcasm she let it go. She would probably claim it was discretion on her part and congratulate herself later, but truthfully she was not appreciably more mature than she had been just moments before. Still she was oddly happy. Things are finally going well. And now Kate's here with Sean...Sean's been pretty nice to me...I wonder what they did? Gonna be something cool, I'm sure. But it better not win. As the new girl greeted them Katana relaxed a bit. I was paranoid...she's not favoring the meatheads...she's just social that's all...she won't give Gavin the prize for being a big flirt. But the girl was apparently smart enough not to try to glad hand everybody as when Machete and Stoney came in behind the New Mutant pair, the new girl didn't go over and try to chat with them.
Although Katana was not being fair in this assessment. She barely knew the two Hellions. All she knew was that they were Hellions and for that she hated them, both because of what Inflict had done to Jumper and because of Brock's behavior which although sometimes amusing was mostly just sickening. Heck it even made her sympathize with Aideen lately. And yet Frostbite it seemed was anything but sickened as the girl was shamelessly flirting with Brock. freak. That girl must be an idiot. If he doesn't kill her for fun, Haven will kill her...doesn't she remember the other day at all?, Katana thought as the image of a crazed Haven pouncing on Brock and Frostbite replayed in her head.
She was still thinking about this when she heard Brock call out to Hotwire his mock indignation at the Corsair having a kiss for Mato and not for him. I wish I was him., Katana thought of the Corsair boy. Really any boy would do though...it wasn't so much that Katana didn't like being a girl but that she just wasn't very good at it. Everything was too coarse and too rough. She could never do frilly and perfect like say Allure. The girl was popular, beautiful, talented, and sweet to the point where Katana hated her with a passion for being so damn superior. And to make things worse she was so nice and sincere about it that Katana felt guilty hating her as the superiority was pretty much a fact, not an attempt at putting on airs. Katana hated her most of all because she couldn't have even that one tiny flaw, of arrogance, to justify the hatred.
When Guardian had been interested in her she had felt really validated but she couldn't really like him more than as a friend. Then with Jumper she had felt this need, this desire to spend all her time with him and was real hurt when Inflict attacked him. She had thought that must be love. But now she was confused. She barely knew Hotwire. Had not spoken two words to her before. And yet she wanted the girl and not in a let's go hang out kinda way. And that's sick, you little pervert, she said to herself. Besides, the girl's gonna have a boyfriend and its probably that guy Brock's yelling at her about. Just forget it and try to be normal. It wasn't like Katana lacked normal models all around her. Just this moment Heather was practically teaching a course on flirting with the usual morning game (which would inevitably be followed by the afternoon and evening games) of let's bother Gavin.
Unfortunately for Katana, Heather's harmless game was not the only one in town. For just a moment later the rubber chicken from Chase's project came sailing across the room towards her project. Not noticing it until Chucapabra reached out to save the jars, she only had time to grab one or two before it crash landed and about half the jars toppled and rolled off the table, shattering on the floor. The smell of formaldehyde filled the air. She wanted to scream, freak you! repeatedly at the top of her longs. But no sound came out. She simply stood their open mouthed. She knew her former teammates didn't like her, but she had never expected anything like this. This wasn't just some mean little joke. It was downright cruel. Katana had many flaws, but cruelty was not one of them, and she just never could understand it.
Fortunately, she did not have to as her new teammate Haven came quickly across the room, pushing tables and people out of her way with her force field, and confronted the errant Paragon before Beast stepped in to establish order as Haven seemed ready for a fight and Heather and Hardlight were reacting with disgust to the brains that now covered the floor. In all this commotion, Katana did not keep track of everything that was happening and, among other things, missed the new girl's disparaging comments about her and her lab partner.
Haven's standing up for me? I thought she hated me. Guess this means I'm in the group now and I'm not gonna get left out again. Anything she needs I'm there...well within reason; not going to be there if she wants to blow the school up again, Katana thought as she balanced her gratitude to her teammate with a little suspicion as it had only been about three months since the same girl had tried to kill them all. Well that, and she had seen Haven's attack on Brock and Frostbite, and though it was somewhat deserved the impression it gave her was still that the girl with the force field was every bit as unstable as she, and far more violent. Mouthing a quiet "thank you" to Haven she listened to Beast's announcement and relaxed a little as she heard that projects would not be graded on quantity, a clear nod to her and Alex not to worry. Well, that and the fact that Beast would make the final decision with help from the teachers who were just now filing in, Iceman, Shadowkat, and Wolverine. Things were still going to be OK. It was a good day after all! And Iceman's dropping a Hustler on the floor lightened the mood just enough for Leah to smile.

Ricki rolled her eyes as her team mate and Heather as their usual teasing began. "Damn dude - are you sure you don't like her?" Ricki was just too damn determined to hear the words from his lips - Gavin and Heather were uber cute together, especially while going on with their Game, and Ricki honestly thought that the two of them had delayed being together long enough, "'Cause seriously, you two are soooo adorable." Ricki leaned back into her seat, as she diverted her attention to her partner. Shimmer had previously asked her about what they were going to do with the poster during their presentation.
"I've got some blue tac," Ricki said winking at the younger Acolyte, "We'll use that to stick it up on th-" Ricki's eyes widened as a crash sent her attention towards a different part of the classroom, where Katana and the New Mutant's project now lay thrashed. "Ewwwww! That is gross!" Ricki commented, placing her hand over her mouth and turning her head back around to look at Shimmer, her face scrunched up. "Cover your nose Torri, Eww. This thing stinks." Ricki added as she shifted herself slightly to block the view from Torri's vision, hoping that the younger Acolyte hadn't already caught a glimpse, seeing if the stuff on the floor really was brains or something, it would seriously disturb Shimmer. Eurgh! That stinkss!
I kind of feel sorry for Katana... I mean it's gotta be hard, shifting teams. I mean, no one likes her - not that it wasn't her fault, i mean she is sort of weird, but still... Ricki sighed, she was sort of glad that Haven stood up for her now fellow team-mate. Ricki didn't particularly enjoy being rude to people. She's just a bit vunerable, if she tries to grow herself a backbone, and maybe actually make a proper effort, people may start paying more attention to her and take her seriously. I mean, everyone deserves a second chance - right?
"Okay then," Ricki muttered quietly as she diverted her attention back to Torri, "Do we know what we're going to be saying?" Ricki asked Torri with a pleasant smile, cooing slightly as she spoke, even though Torri was in her teens, Ricki still felt as if the girl were much younger, like she was perhaps eight or nine. "Don't get nervous, you'll be amazing." Ricki encouraged, she'd insisted it'd be good for Torri to do the 'introduction', and if she needed any assistance Ricki would be there to help.

"Rickie don't be silly, Gavin and Heather are friends. If they went out that'd be weird, friends don't date. Silly." The tiny teen giggled happily as she finished setting out the experiment. If she was being truthful she was a little upset that she couldn't have made it more complicated so Rickie would get a better mark, but she didn't understand much. She rarely went to class even when she did go to school back home. It was still her home back there, she may never be welcome once more into the house with her mother, nor would she find any other relative alive to take her in but despite that she longed endlessly to just go back. Even for a short visit. Still, keeping to her shy nature she hid slightly from the new and very outspoken student.
Meeting someone so new and different was always a problem for Torri. She didn't like change, change always meant trouble for her. When her dad had died all those years ago the biggest change was how very different her mother became. In a matter of hours the once loving and devoted mother of one became someone that child feared most in the world. Another big change at that point was the formation of her mutant power. The changes where never truly big in one burst, it had been a constant slow moving change until she had arrived at the mansion. That was the next biggest change in her life. She was thrown head first into an environment she hadn't wanted to even experience.
She felt, despite knowing everyone in her team well enough to talk to them that there was still something wrong with her as a person Not a mutant, not as a human. There was something about how she struggled to feel part of the group as a whole that made her worry she was missing out on something. That though could well be due to the fact she missed out on growing up slowly, she went from a child to someone unsure of what was going to come around the corner and beat her across the face. An experience she knew quite well thanks to her mother. Shaking her thoughts from her head when she heard the familiar and welcomed voice of Rickie again, talking about the project the two had worked on.
That crash shook her mentally and the tiny girl let out a short shriek and rushed over to Taffy, arms reaching around her and hiding her face from what she had caught a glimpse of on the floor. 'Brains. Actual brains ... ' "R-Rickie. Those where real weren't they." She whimpered quietly, feeling a terrible sense of guilt washing over her. They didn't look like brains that where taken from a dead thing, the school would never let they use dead animals for organs. Therefore ... the poor things where killed for that one experiment. And now ... over nothing! "They where from a poor wee beastie. Oh jeese it reeks!" Coughing a little as she moved herself away from Taffy and covering her mouth while she coughed, feeling a little sick at the same time.
"I don't feel well now." She mumbled quietly, looking down at the experiment she had set out in front of her. everything now seemed very unappetizing. Thankfully the practical part of the project was not for her to perform. "Oh, the intro? Aye I think so anyway. Um ... " Forgetting for a short moment Torri fiddled around on the desk and reached for the folder with all the notes in it. From it she pulled out numerous cards with notes written on them. "These ones? The experiment we conducted was in the hopes of proving the hypothesis that taste can be confused by sight. And ... Um ... Our experiment proved that changing the colour of food and drink changes peoples perception on flavour and can confuse their minds.. Those ones?" She asked hopefully. Making sure her eyes stayed above the ground and she was not forced to look at the horrific sight of the poor brains on the ground. She sometimes just felt the need to cry, but was in a place where it would be less than appreciated.
