Sean smiled widely at Kevin as he picked at the scrap metal. "You sure know you're stuff Kevin," he commented before he turned to Tia with an easy smile. He was always real nice to her cause she reminded him a bit of his little sister at home who he missed like crazy. His sister Carrie was a quiet little thing, always watching people with observant eyes, but once you got her talking she was the sweetest girl ever. Of course, Sean didn't know Tia well enough to know if she was like that or not, but she watched people with the same observant eyes as his sister which made Sean smile whenever he caught it. "Tia could ya tell me maybe what the heaviest thing you ever lifted was? I can alter the weight of this here bits too so it won't be too heavy for ya," he said with a wink and got to work.
He may not know much about physics by the book, but being the handy repair guy he was and someone who worked around machines on a daily basis he had some knowledge on what needed to be done. He place a couple of pieces of the metal together and began the molding process. The dense and heavy worked like clay for Sean as he made them all weave together and changed the them into a lighter metal. The shape he made was similar to the lid of a garbage can, without the handle though. He also made it wide and made more of an indent in the center so it looked like a very shallow bowl. On opposite side he fastened little wings like panes that looked like halves of a boomerang.
"Wow Kevin that looks great!" Sean said looking at the Acolyte's creation. He looked back at his own creation and gave Tempest a friendly smile, no a pushy one but just the one he always had on. "I think that with this here would make one hell of a 'wind sled' wouldn't ya say Tia?" he said picking up the large object and twirling it with is hand. "I wonder if we could ever ride this here thing?"

"Well today we'll- Hey!" Bobby exclaimed at his hair that got messed up. He looked back at Tia and tried to give her a stern look but failed miserably. He laughed and gave the little Paragon a grin. He'd get her out of that shell yet, that was a promise. Bobby chuckled to himself and looked at Lorelai with a big grin. "I like her, she's got more spunk than people give her credit for," he said nodding his head to Tia who looked like she might just get along with the two guys. He liked Sean and Kevin, they were good guys and he felt better leaving Tia with them than with anyone else. He would never put the girl in a position where it would bring her closer into her shell, not with all the progress she made. She'd be out and about soon, of that Bobby was confident.
"Today, my Mini-me of awesomeness, you're gonna try the ice slide all on your own. You're getting your balance pretty well, and I know you can make an ice slide, we been working on that for weeks. Now let's see what ya got Icegirl," Bobby said with a wink and then grinned twice as much. "Man I never get tired of saying that. I still can't believe you were here for almost three weeks before they called me. The first mutant that we ever met except for me with Ice powers and they decide to wait before they gimme a call." He shook his head in disbelief and grinned at her fondly. "Alright Lorelai, show me whatcha got," Bobby said encouragingly and watched her get the ice slide started.
After watching her for a moment, giving her an encouraging grin and a thumbs up sign when she looked over at him, Bobby decided to say something that had been playing in his mind all day and been forming a pit of a sort in his stomach. "Lorelai... ah damn, I hate what I'm about to say. I used to hate it when people treated me like a little kid and tried to make me do stuff their way and all that but I gotta ask and we've always been straight with each other," he began with a slight sigh and looked back where they had been sitting just a moment ago and then back to Lorelai, catching her eye. "What are you doing getting mixed up with Rumble?"

Riker gave the rabbit a slight look of disdain and confusion, not understanding why he wasn't allowed to catch dinner yet. He shrugged and turned his attention to the fine, fine new addition to the paragons. She smelled good, and looked it to match. Riker had never seen the hardcore goth lasses, except for K'8, but as far as he knew K'8 didn't have any tattoos and she was not as pale as this girl. The paleness gave her an ethereal appeal that made her look as if she would be right at home in one of those shitty vampire movies that people only watched for the hot lassies in them. "Well me lady, t'would appear that we be workin' together on this one,"Riker said with a wolfish smirk, ignoring the rabbit as they all walked to the obstacle course with Calorie.
"Me name's Riker, and tis be quite a pleasure to meet ya lass," he said with the same roguish smirk that now exposed his fangs and canines. Most of his teeth were canines, more similar to that of a wolf than a human. His eyes moved to the tattoo of a cat print on her collar bone before they trailed down for a moment. "Ya know dogs be the ones that dun like cats. Speakin' as a wolf, I enjoy a walk on the wild side every so often," Riker said with a wink and then grabbed one of the scarves to blind fold himself, examining the course before he placed them over his eyes. His sense of smell was excellent, able to catch the scent of a particular animal from a good distance and extremely sensitive to other smells. This would hardly be a challenge.
"Ya ready lass? Kelly there, he go a wee bit too happy with his power, so ya best watch yerself," Riker said having worked with Calorie once before. He leaned down and got on all four, his body adapting to the loss of one of his five senses.

Lorelai scowled slightly as she had to fix her now messy and windblown hair, but then smirked as she knew it was Tia being funny. "She does, and pretty much the only people who know she has it are the few she's really comfortable with. She's a good kid," she agreed with Iceman, knowing what she said was right cause Lorelai was one of the people Tia relaxed around.
Lorelai then focused on her task and had to smirk with a hint of pride. She really did like having a teacher who had the same type of power she had and was able to learn specialized moves, from a pro, no less. And being called Mini-me was just plain funny. "Okay," she said and then started an ice slide of her own, having learned an easy way to do it though it was slightly different from how she had first thought herself to do it. She got on and went around the area a little, balance not yet perfect, but good enough to carry herself for a good bit, and even let herself look to Iceman to see how she was doing.
When he started talking she brought the slide near to where she started and stopped, stepping over to Iceman as he started saying something he sounded like he didn't want to say. For a second Lorelai thought she was in trouble until she heard the rest of what he had to say, and when there was that nagging question at the end, she had to let out a small quiet laugh. She sniffed and then smirked a little, shaking her head a little. "Well..uh," she started, figuring out how to try to word things and how much she could say to him. Iceman was someone she was pretty close to though, so she could actually tell him some stuff about her that normally she might not say. "Ok pretty much... before school, I had a boyfriend named Chris. I was with him for like three and a half years. Regular high school, you know. Anyway, go figure he was a mutant hater and look at me. He didn't know about it for a bit cause I was making up excuses for different things but when he put everything together and figured it out, well.. it didn't sit well. So he had to choose between me and his mutant hater ideas and I lost. So, he ended it badly, and turned all my friends against me, and they all left in the process," she said, with a tinge of bitterness and hurt in her voice.
"Then I came here, and you probably know what happened by now. My little rebound with Brickh- ..I mean Diesel didn't end very well and I was a big sourpuss for two months, that you know too. Then yesterday it just changed and it's all kinda screwy, really. Rumble buried the two people I can't stand the most in this place and I went to help him out. Then I went to the med lab afterwards, and in turn I went out with the Hellions last night and the rest you know too. It's just this weird chain reaction and I actually like it. Plus, anything that happens with him," she said, holding out a hand to lightly point in Rumble's direction and a glance, "Nothing attached. No feelings, no relationship, no nothing, and it's perfect cause I don't want any of it. Not after all this bullshit. Yeah he's a sociopath and yeah he drives the rest of you all up the wall and out the window, so to speak," she said with a laugh, "But for some reason I find it hilarious- not the reason he's doing it...I'm not heartless...but what happens when he tries. It's just funny, and I feel great and happier than I've been in a while. Besides do you know how tough he is? I don't know a lot about him but I've seen enough to know, and he's a Hellion and you don't wanna mix badly with them. I know I don't, so...what I've been doing the past days, it's fun, and I'm breaking the mold I put myself in- as well as the Acolyte mold I'd been in, and I've never felt better," she finished, looking at Iceman with a hard face. Lorelai knew people probably thought she was out of her mind. Hell, she thought she was out of her mind too, but because it was doing her more good than bad (not counting the friend losses) she was going to stick with it.
"That's why, Bobby. I'm doing what I want. Not what other people want me to do. I'm done with that. I just hope your opinion of me doesn't change because of it, cause some people have already turned their back on me. I know it's gonna happen but it doesn't change that it kinda sucks. Y'know?" she asked him, letting her face soften a little as she spoke this time. "That's all," she said, crossing her arms loosely over her chest and trying to predict what he'd say while she waited for an answer.

No self control at all, Coffee thought disdainfully of Kelly Burns as the college student came screaming across the lawn to cower behind Iceman's chair. Not too different from Brock. Coffee could not abide either of the boys as they reminded him of Mojo in that they both lived for their own momentary pleasures and gave no thought to the consequences of their actions or their impact on others. That Brock was sadistic and Kelly not, made the Corsair easier to live with but didn't earn him any more respect in the rabbit's book. Yet, Coffee was polite and did not show his displeasure. It wasn't his place really and it wouldn't change anything so there would be no point. Instead he kept his face serious and patiently waited for Iceman to give him his assignment while he blocked out Kelly and the bedlam of all the other students gathering around.
When Iceman finally gave him his orders, he was not displeased and smiled broadly as he fist bumped the teacher back. Blind folded racing. This should be fun. We had a course like that for training when I was a kit and I always had a great sense of smell. Good training for the kids too.. He also was pleased to have been given the authority to gently discipline Kelly, and presumably the others, if they got out of line, although he hoped fervently he wold not have to use it. As he left for the obstacle course to join Riker and the new cat-like girl he noticed the wolf boy giving him a disdainful look, as he often did. Go ahead, boy, he thought. Underestimate me. I've killed a lot of wolves in the ring. I can teach you a thing or two here, if you're willing to learn from a rabbit. Rather than try to tap out his thoughts in Morse code, which he was sure the wolf boy wouldn't even know, he just gave him and the girl a friendly wave to show he was ready and picked up the blind fold in his teeth. He then presented the blind fold to the Paragon girl to have her put it on for him.

Standing next to Iceman's chair waiting to find out about her assignment and any extra credit opportunities that might allow her not to fail, Katana carefully watched the other students file in. She tried her best to ignore the Paragons and to pick out the Acolytes so she could give them friendly smiles. When Haven got there she smiled genuinely, but then Brock started in on Aideen again. Oh, no. That's just sick. Lay off already. She thought. Katana also looked over at Haven hoping the girl wouldn't do anything. If she does I'll have to back her and get expelled or not and be a total back stabber. Thankfully, Haven didn't do anything and Kelly Burns panicked entrance distracted everybody from Brock. The sight of the cowering college student and the mental image of Rogue with jelly in her hair made Katana stifle a laugh.
Once Iceman had dealt with Kelly and given everybody else their assignments Katana was relieved to find she had been assigned to Mato. She couldn't agree with the teacher more that given her issues a rigorous exploration of her powers was probably not the best thing right now. Mato must be pretty pissed right now though. Who would want to be forced to work with me? she thought self derogatorily. But as Iceman gave her a warning look she said calmly to the teacher. "Thanks. Best behavior I promise."
Following the Corsair's direction to take the trail down to the lake she left with him. As he was quiet she did not say much either. Only opening her mouth after they had walked out of earshot of the other students. "I know working with me ain't anybody's first choice. But I'm trying this time. Just tell me what to do and I'll do it." Then she looked intently at the ground and said nothing more.

Kat walked along with the other two students and the weird little rabbit to where they needed to go. The two boys were ones she hadn’t met before, but obviously that was going to change now. The wolfish one didn’t put her off at all even though she considered herself to be so ‘catty’. It was only the abilities of one that she had, though she did enjoy acting like one when she was so inclined. The wolf boy was very attractive and Kat was pleased about who she was teamed up with for this challenge. The other one seemed in kind of a daze while they walked, so she focused on the one talking with her, Riker. She couldn’t help smirking back at him flirtatiously as they got where they needed to be. “I be ready enough for this,” she answered and had her blindfold in her hand when the little rabbit thing came up to her with its blindfold in its mouth. “They just let all kinds in this school, eh? Well then, little Thumper, let me get that for ye,” she said and bent down to wrap the blindfold around its eyes.
She stood back up and turned to Riker who was now on all fours. “Me name is Katlyn, but do feel free to call me Kat, for that is how I act…sometimes. But don’t ye worry now Balto I work with wolfies like you,” she told him and smirked again, tying her own blindfold around her eyes. Now that she couldn’t see at all she let her attention turn to her nose and ears, hearing and smelling everything so that she’d be ready once things were to start. Her posture slumped a little as she readied herself to slink through the forest area as she needed to. Weaving through the trees probably wouldn’t be too much of a problem, especially because she was so used to dancing around things and just moving around them in general. The odd walk and seemingly drunken swagger was good for something other than looks.
“Aye…let’s begin now.. Food boy, start fooding the place! And not me clothes, I caught what the Manhunk o’Ice said. Riker’s clothes by all means, a wee treat for me when I get me sight back, but touch mine and it’ll be the last thing ye see,” she said, a pronounced smirk on her face as she addressed the funny older boy.

As they walked past the trees and began using the trails around the lake that Mato knew Aideen favored for a run each morning, his concentration solely on Katana and the environment. The large Grizzly Bear walked next to them as calmly as they walked further and further from the class. He looked at Katana with a calm look and even an encouraging smile. "I understand that it may seem like everyone is against you and you are a woman alone on the edge of a cliff. Please know that I have no qualms or further problems working with you in any way," Mato said calmly as they walked without a rush of any sort. He contemplated the walk to his place of meditation, the most calming area he could think of at the moment.
The silent walk continued for a moment longer, the sounds of the laughter and shouts from the others dying and melting into the sounds of birds in the trees, animals moving in the distance, the wind blowing in the trees, and finally when they got close enough, the sound of running water. "Everyone here, especially that we are all mutants, needed a guidance at one point to help them find their inner peace and joy within them. Growing up in this cruel world is enough to turn them bitter and angry towards it, what makes a person strong and what helps them find that joy is taking the time to understand themselves and gain more understanding of others," Mato said as they got to his spot by the calm soothing water of the river. He took a seat on the grass by the bank of the river and invited Katana to do the same with a gesture of his hand.
The Great Grizzly that had walked beside them all this time settled it's massive form on the grass next to Mato, the top of the bear's back the same height as Mato's head sitting down with his massive paws in front of him, looking at Katana calmly with an almost curious expression. Mato reached out and pet his Grizzly bear's head. "I often wish that some people may see what I see when I look at everyone. I have not been here for but three months, and the changes I've witnessed in the spirits of the people here astound me." He looked up at Katana now with a small smile as he recalled all he had seen. "I watched those who lived their life with hate and mistrust towards all open up their heart to others and finally feel a love of friendship that was long overdue," Mato said thinking of his earlier talk with Haven with a smile. "I witness those here find an inner courage and strength to be true to themselves and true to those around them." The young Acolyte Hardlight came to mind as Mato witnessed the boy grow more and more into the Spirit of the Manta Ray, one that he didn't quite project when Mato first saw him but did more and more with each passing day. "And I was also fortunate enough to watch one who never understood the feeling of true love and joy find themselves encountered with it and finally find a true reason to live," he said thinking of Aideen and the happiness that he felt whenever he saw her the past couple of weeks. Her Cougar no longer walked around on guard and snapped at anyone that got too close, though still on guard there was a serene and even seductive calmness to her spirit, reflecting greatly upon her and making Mato as happy as can be for his dear friend.
Mato smiled at Katana before his eyes moved to the small frightened cat that he saw by her side, no doubt a spirit that was quite fierce, but misunderstood and frightened after all that it had been exposed to in life. "You have the ability and the right to understand your true self Katana. You have that right as others that I have seen to grow and find the value of life and yourself," he said softly and looked over at the bear beside him. "If you allow yourself to put aside your mistrust toward people, I would like to help you find that part of yourself that you've been missing. You and your spirit have a long journey ahead of you, but the first part is healing within and letting go of that fear that holds you back." Mato held out his other hand to her and looked at her with calm and serene river gray eyes that didn't judge in the least, but held a depth of sincerity that only a man of the spirits could possess. "Are you willing to let me help you accomplish that feat?" he asked quietly.

Tia tried to follow Kevin as he continued to ramble on and explain how she should use her powers on the object. Normally such a thing would've annoyed Tia - she didn't particularly like being told what to do, but seeing that she herself didn't know what to do or how she should go about lifting the object that TuneUp and Hardlight had created, she tried to memorize every word the Acolyte had spoken. Tia nodded slightly in his direction before she looked over at Sean. The heaviest thing she'd ever lifted was probably a football which she'd done yesterday while playing with Frosty and Riker.
She set her mind to work. She concentrated hard on the object, recollecting all the angles and things Kevin had told her. Even though she was no genius at maths, she wasn't too bad either. She could vaguely figure out what Kevin was talking about. Tia pressed her lips together as she used her mind to call upon the wind. It was easy enough to do that now. She used her hands to direct the wind towards the aircraft and slowly lift them up. The wind she'd called upon wasn't enough - she'd only just about managed to get both the aircrafts to vaguely hover over the ground. She breathed as she called upon more wind raising her hands higher as she went along.
She could see what Kevin meant now, if she just dropped the wind, the aircrafts both would go crashing down and just drop. She kept her concentration, as the aircrafts hovered higher, Thank god they made the models small, I think TuneUp made it slightly easy... I think his aircraft is slightly lighter, aw well. She licked her lips as she raised her head to look at the aircrafts. Okay, I think i'll bring them down now.
She bit her lip, Kevin said to corkscrew the aircrafts down... but I don't know if I can corkscrew it. Maybe I should try doing a sort of corkscrew diagram sorta thing with my hand - that might work. Tia moved her hands the way a corckscrew would work, hoping the aircrafts would too. The aircrafts followed her hands for a second before - CRASH. Tia blinked hesitantly at the aircraft before she looked over at Kevin and Sean.
"I guess the corkscrew technique requires more work." she muttered, I'm going to need help, 'cause I don't know exactly how I'm going to make this work. I'll ask Sean and Kevin. "Um, Kevin - Sean. Any ideas on how I could get the corkscrew to work?" she requested in her dead tone, looking from one to the other - she still felt hesitant asking others for help, but since the time she'd come to the academy, she'd slowly started to accept her flaws and rather hesitantly ask people to help her out.

I'm supposed to help you after you abused me like that? I should be calling the domestic abuse hotline on your rubbery butt. But since I am such a nice guy I'll help you out," Gavin said sticking his tongue out at her while flying over to wear she got her arm tangled. Taking his sweet time and humming 'Crazy Train' and bobbing his head to it. When he untangled it, he threw her arm at her and laughed when it hit her in the head. "A little too stretched out there, yea that's what he said," Gavin said with a laugh and flew lower a bit.
"Okay so you may have gotten one flag Stretch, but aha! My absolutely brilliant mind has come up with a plan!" He flew lower to where her legs were and gave her big blast of the wind that his wings made. This way he'd throw her off balance and not risk blowing away the flags on the branches. "Ahhaha! You are so done for Rubberbutt," Gavin yelled up as he gave her a good number of blasts from his wings, trying to control the speed so he really didn't end up making her fly across in the breeze but just throw her off balance.
Iceman rocks, this challenge is awesome! It's fun as hell too! he thought while trying to control his gust strength to not make it too weak or too strong. He wanted to win the challenge not hurt his friend.

Dante nodded at the Onyx guy as they walked to their station, sneaking a look back at the two girls. They looked just as good from behind as they did from the front, and he had to wonder if they were available. "Who are those two? Damn you don't see broads like that often," Dante said using the picked up fifties slang he got used and giving the girls one last look. He knew better than to try something with older bombshells, but hell a guy could dream and fantasize. He generally didn't look at girls that didn't look available, considering it a waste of time to pursue or look when there wasn't an opening for some fun. At lunch he saw several couples, making note of them and passing the over. The one thing he learned both in school when he did attend and at his neighborhood that no broad is worth messing with when she's tied to someone. The trouble that came with another guy's woman was just too much of a headache for Dante, so he simply didn't bother.
Taking off his leather jacket and hanging it on the branch of tree further away and facing away from the paintball machines so it wouldn't get ruined. He already packed his stuff away into his room, but he always kept his jacket on him. Dante put on the suit and and safety goggles, looking over at Onyx and waiting for him to do the same. The guy seemed alright, not a square but whether he was a guy that got it or not remained to be seen. "So how is your dark matter gonna help us get to those machines? I can disable them once close enough to touch, but we gotta get their first," he said while they walked toward the machines. After a couple of steps, the machines motion detectors must have found them, cause the next thing they were being pelted with a stream of paintballs.
"Shit," Dante said when he felt the hit of some of them as he rolled down and tried to dodge them best he could. "Gimme something man before we both look rainbow threw up on us," he yelled to Onyx as he concentrating on dodging. This is why I hate school.

"OH YOU BIT-" Ricki stopped herself swearing midway as she dropped to the ground and stuck her tongue out at Gavin, narrowing her eyes. Ricki'd sorta got into the 'no-swearing' habit while hanging around with Shimmer seeing she always had to be careful about the words she used. Urgh, this is not gonna work. What the hell am I - OH Glitch and Onyx are being attacked by a paintball machine. "CROFT! Look! Glitch and Onyx are being attacked by a paintball machine!" she yelled, using it as a diversion (a technique she'd learnt from Sky. Guys were easily distracted.)
Ricki stretched her arm out, this time stretching her fingers too so she could grab two flags in one go. She stretched her arm back in before dropping the flags by her legs. "Whopee. Two more for me!" she giggled again before trying to work out how she was going to dodge Gavin again, because distractions would be useless seeing he'd try to stay on his guard now.

"Zhey are Hotvire und Ember. Zhey are two of zhe college student. I vouldn't vaste my time." Jasper said with a sort of huff, the girls where hot. But about as easy to touch as a frozen flame - although in this school it wouldn't surprise him.
Following the new guys example and putting on his goggles, Jasper was caught off guard as he reached for his suit. Shouting out at being hit in the back of the leg by a paintball, Onyx growled a little and ducked down from the evil paintballs of DOOM. He hadn't even realized how sore being hit would be. "FICKT dass ein WEIBCHEN." He yelled out, rubbing the tender area and shielding himself with his hands. The paintballs would go right through any sort of protection he made for Glitch. He wasn't even sure if it would totally protect him. "I vill get zhem. Vhe will run." He grumbled, his brows knitting together, yelling again as another paintball his the space between the two wings on his back. "FICKT!" He yelped again.
Balling up the matter in one hand, he shot out at another approaching paintball. There was far too many to deal with at once so he needed to think on his feet as usual. "Vait!" He yelled out to the new guy. "Stop moving." 'Motion detecting ... DUH!' "Eef vhe do not move ...?" He said quietly, hoping that the paintballs would stop attacking the two boys. It was sore!

"Come on, It's not every day I get a speed challenge." Kris chuckled, making his way with Puppy~Love to the hedge maze. He had a good idea how he could stop the wolf girl, but his challenge was to stop her as she ran. He could probably get around that easy enough. He was getting better at controlling his element thanks to this class. It was easy enough to manipulate plants when he wasn't under too much pressure; as they moved quite slowly without full concentration.
That was obviously the point. Getting him to move them quicker than normal. Enough to put a stop to Lurai.
"Lets see what we have here, wanna countdown? 3 ... 2 ..." With that the race began, Hemlock trying to keep an eye on where abouts the speedy girl was so he could make even a small dent in her path.

After regaining her composure, Lian took Clutch's hand and stood back up. "I love this freaking school," she said again with more satisfaction. Calorie and his crazy antics kind of reminded Lian of her and Sky's adventures with Chase and Riker. She assumed that Ricki would be joining them pretty soon since Torri was out of the picture. It was good for Ricki to act like her own age and not some baby's sitter.
She walked with Clutch to their spot and sighed. The whole fort thing was bothering her, but she was curious as to how she and Clutch's powers would work. Lian understood how to tighten and loosen up the molecules of solid objects. So in a way, she could loosen up all the building blocks of the fort and not allow Clutch to grab them (assuming Clutch could only control solid objects with her mind).
Lian prepared herself and rubbed her hands together. "Alright chick," she yelled to Clutch when she made sure to be about twenty feet away (she wanted to test how far her powers worked). "You ready?" With that she rose her hands and began to use her power. All she needed to do was loosen the molecules and walk right through right?
