A series of facial expressions crossed Riker's face, starting at incredulous, moving to perplexed, and ending in confusion. "In love? What is this a bloody fairy tale? Why the bloody hell would I be in love?" he asked in disbelief. "Life ain't a bloody Cinderella story lad, me first time wit' a lass was when I was but thirteen an' me pack mother explained what the spring does to wolves an' sent me an' me twin to the town an' told us to find ourselves someone ta mate wit'." Riker looked thoughtful for a moment. "I do remember the lass a wee bit. She was a mite older than I, long golden curly hair an' a set o' knockers that still make me salivate ta this day. When the feelin' o' Spring hit me, oh bloody hell did it hit me. When I left the lass two days later, she could barely walk," Riker said with a big smirk on his face as he remembered those hours in the dingy room above the bar her uncle owned. It wasn't even fully explained to him what to do, but his instincts took over like a supernatural force.
"Na the way I see it Kevin, there are so, so many beautiful lassies out there, an' I wanna have me fun wit' as many o' 'em as possible. Maybe one day I'll find meself a mate that don't bore me an' then that will be fine, I can live with that. Till then though, I plan to have me fun, an' more people should think like that," he took a drag of his cigarette and shrugged, walking leisurely on the path back to the school. "If more people thought like that, ye wouldn' see half the problems wit' people that ya do now. Look at Lorelai an' Ian, if Lorelai neve' took it seriously, none o' the stuff that happened the past week woulda happened. She wouldn' have had a life plan in four days an' had her heart broken an' she'd still be on yer team without a problem."
Riker was the last person to advocate for relationships, they were a joke. With the shock of coming to a new country, he tried one with Shimmer and regretted it seriously. He wondered if that drug that they made him take when he got on the plane had some altering effect on his mind temporarily. Riker liked to pretend it never happened and when it did come to his mind, he just found Sky and had her make him forget. "Aye, a bachelor's life be the one fer me. I like havin' me pick o' the lassies. Less grief an' heartache an' only a good deal o' fun."
