"You're telling me that you lived here most of your life and ya can't even tell me where I can get a decent burger? I oughta fire you as a tour guide," Mason said with a smirk to Aideen and took a sip of his soda. They had been walking around the Freedom Trail for awhile now, seeing the sights and all the old monuments and buildings. He was enjoying himself despite the fact that he wasn't big on history, and he was taking the opportunity to fiddle with the new camera on his phone, taking pictures of the sights and once in a while sneaking in a picture of Tracy looking so damn good in that mini skirt.
It was his first time exploring this Old City and he liked it a lot. They stopped at the Old Corner Book Store for Aideen's sake and Mason had been tempted to physically pull the girl out of there after forty five minutes of browsing old books. What kept him back was that if anyone could make him lose an arm it would probably be her. When they finally got out of there, it was warmer than the cool morning, and the sun was beating down on them despite the blistering wind that came from the direction of the harbor. They stopped to grab a hot drink from some vendor and kept walking.
Right now they were about to turn the corner to get to that Quincy Marketplace Aideen was telling them about and Mason was anticipated being dragged from store to store. First though, he wanted lunch. "C'mon Fox, at least tell me there's a stand or something where I can grab a burger and fries," he said raising his eyebrows at her from behind his sunglasses. "There gotta be some more food vendors around here right?" Mason looked down the street with his arm around Tracy's shoulder.

Aideen rolled her eyes from behind her aviators and turned her head toward Mason. "Yes, because people who have never eaten red meat make it a point to know all the places to get a burger," she said sarcastically, walking with in her usual elegant and grace stance, caution always present in every step. "They're all the same anyways, I'm sure there is a greasy burger vendor at the Square and its just down there." Aideen used her head to indicate the street the were turning on. She carried in her hand a canvas bag filled with several books that lightly hit her thigh as she walked. If Aideen had her way she would have stayed in the book store for another hour, but it would have been impolite. However, she did make several purchases that she looked forward to reading. Along with several classic books in German and French, she picked up a book for Stoney that she thought he may like about the best kind of bait to use to catch each fish. It had several editions and she came across the newest one, picking it up right away. They even wrapped it in soft tissue paper for her and set it at the bottom of the bag. She couldn't wait to give it to him, having to hold back a smile. "I want to drop these off in the car though, they're getting heavy," she said, quick fingers reaching over deftly and taking the keys to the BMW from Mason's pocket. Cecil lent them one of his cars since Mason's was a two seater and it wasn't safe to park a motorcycle on the streets downtown. Aideen had them park on the other side of the Square so they could see all the sights and work their way backwards so to speak. As much as she dreaded coming back, it still felt nice to be in such a familiar setting. The weather only enhanced the setting, uplifting her own mood as well. It was still too cold for Aideen's liking, but it was better than it could be. She was dressed practically though, in skinny jeans and her motorcycle boots and as always, zipped up in her trusty leather jacket. Her hair was loose now though, and she slightly regretted it as the wind whipped it around. She looked at the Old North Church as they passed it, shuddering inwardly. It was the Church her Uncle attended and made her attend as well. He insisted that she be raised a devout Catholic and made repentance for any type of sacrilege apart of her training. Truth be told, Aideen was nervous most of all to run into him in the city, which was just as possible. She turned her head away from the Church, keeping the same pace till the turned the slight corner. "And this, is Quincy Marketplace," she said softly to the group. It was very busy for an early afternoon much busier than when they passed earlier, mainly full of families going on an outing. Yet despite all that, Aideen still spotted those wearing Infamous leather jackets with The Clan insignia on the back. They owned the town, every part of it, and Aideen had a good idea what they were up to here. "Look right there, it says they serve burgers and onion rings, greasy food galore," she said with a smirk looking at one of the food vendors. "Other than the vendors out here, there are a lot of stores in there," she said pointing to a large old looking building. "I'm going to put my bag in the car. Want me to take yours?" Aideen looked at Tracy and the bags she was carrying, and the few that Mason had too.

"Oh yes, sure...thanks." Tracy said and handed her bag over absent mindedly, lost in the visual of the market square. She heard Mason and Logan as they were going for food and all at once she stood in the moment. Time seemed to stand still as her skirt and her hair whipped up in the breeze. She was chilled a little but her thick stockings kept her from freezing completely. She didn't really know what to expect from the day, and she dressed fun and flirty to indulge Mason's desires. It was a wonderful perk of her power. As she had held up outfits for him to see she could tell which one he liked and wanted to see her in most and best believe she wore that ensemble. One might think it was subservient of her, but she got just as much out of thrilling him as he got from the thrill of her, maybe even more. There though, in the market, with all the crowd of people around her she felt a wave come over her. She felt a distance from the immediate moment, so many emotions swirling, and she wasn't sure how long she stood there.... motionless. Her thoughts took her back to the night before. The same feeling of losing herself, but in a different... and altogether darker, sphere of emotions. There was then all at once a realization as voices were muffled and she pushed it all back and away from herself. Collecting the emotions that were her own, plucking them as if from the wind... the swirl of everyone else around her and those emotions that did not belong to her. She only let herself feel just a little too much and relax into the vacation just a little too far. She would guard against it happening again, but one thing did come of it all as she gathered herself. The memory of what she had felt in that back room. Looking around as she blinked her eyes she saw Mason coming up to her and the many members of the clan scattered in the crowd. This was a dangerous town, and they had touched a darkness the night before that might follow them. This was no place to let her guard down and she promised herself she would not let it happen again. They had made some enemies the night before and they were not to be toyed with. She realized then that spacing out might get her killed.

"Got you a milkshake Dollface, apparently the guy said he's got the best in the city, but it could just be a line he was feeding me," Mason said giving her a small vanilla milkshake and dropping a kiss on her lips. He had his eye on her the whole time, not wanting to chance anything happening to her, especially since she looked so damn good that day. Now he had his burger and fries and drink so he was content. "Let's go and sit at the tables, one just freed up anyways." He walked over and grabbed the table that just freed up, even though it was small and had only three chairs, they could always steal another one for when Aideen came back.
"Ahhh man this is nice. A bit crowded, but it sure is one helluva show huh?" Mason said looking over at the marching band playing music and the circus stunts that people were doing. He dug into his burger and looked around, seeing the members of The Clan walking around and going on their business. Fox wasn't kidding when she said that they ruled this town. He saw some of them looking over at him, probably recognizing him from last night. "Heh. Greasy burgers is right huh man?" he said to Logan at the grease dripping from his burger, while still keeping an eye out for anyone coming up to them.
His dark gold eyes also looked out for the pretty head of their designated tour guide. "What's taking Aideen, I thought she was just going to the car? I wanna figure out what the plans are for today," Mason said and took another bite of the burger while looking around for her. He knew she could take care of herself, but out of pure habit he looked around for her just in case.

"Last I checked I didn't have super speed anymore than you have patience," Aideen said coming up behind them, now with no bags hanging off of her. It was a trip getting back though, avoiding the performers and declining the roses that one of them offered to her, not to mention whizzing by The Clan members and narrowly avoiding confrontation with them. They parked the car in a good spot, but Aideen knew they would probably not be able to leave anytime soon without hitting major traffic. "I prefer not to charge through crowds," she said tossing the keys to the BMW on the table and moving without hesitation to sit on Logan's lap. There weren't any chairs free and in truth Aideen felt like taking advantage of the fact that they were out of the school and not having to be so careful. Since her little revelation from earlier, after getting over the initial feeling of foolishness that came over her, it gave her some things to think about. She felt foolish because she knew that Dr. McCoy knew what was wrong with her, and she just didn't make the connection all this time. Now that she had, it put things a bit more into perspective to her and allowed her to slightly adjust her own priorities.
She settled herself comfortably and rested her arm against his, looking over her shoulder at the sound of a motorcycles as a group of The Clan members arrived. "We saw all the main sights already. Tracy I know you mentioned you wanted to shop. All the good stores are down there," Aideen said looking down the street adjacent to where they sat. "We could always split up about here, since I already ordered my leathers. It's up to you all really, I'm quite content with anything now," she answered honestly, looking around to take in her surroundings like she always did. It was tough with such a diverse crowd of people and the fact that no matter where she looked there was a Clan member. Either an arms deal or new drug shipment. Great.
"Didn't you mention you had some friends here or something? Now would probably be a good time to call them up before we split," Aideen mentioned leaning back a bit and turning her head to look at Logan. "Do you want to go to a pool bar by the port? They got happy hour coming up soon, and it's nothing too snobby," she teased lightly with a smirk. The thought of visiting McGinty's Port Tavern had been dancing in her mind for awhile, and she had just a hunch that it would be an interesting trip.

"Sounds good. It's been too long a time since I just had a few beers, shot some stick and just spent a quiet afternoon with my Angel Eyes." Logan had given up eating the burger he'd gotten when Aideen sat down on his lap. It was one of those kinds of burgers that required both hands and some degree of concentration and a fair amount of leaning over the table to make sure none of it got on you, so he left it. There were very few people in the world he would leave a juicy charred chunk of red meat topped with all the trimmings for, and Ember was tops on that list. He was also still full enough from breakfast, even though the 'workout' afterward was intense and burned a ton of calories. Logan didn't really want to be too full if he was going to be enjoying some tasty frothy brews in frosty mugs. "Who ya talkin 'bout babygirl?" He said reaching for his hat. He was not in a 'shopping mood' himself, and as he thought about it he was pretty sure he had never in his life been in a 'shopping mood', and he would probably put money on the fact that he would never find himself in such a state. He almost felt sorry for poor old Mason right then as it seemed the guy was going to be spending the day doing just that, until he realized how lucky he would wind up being, enjoying the show of his girl trying stuff on. No, his mind was on beer and fun bar times and as he slipped his hat on the thought occurred to him that it was probably the one thing he had in common with a lot of the kids back at the school. The image of Kelly Burns, caught with Logan's very last beer in hand, crept into his mind and like a gnat buzzing at his face he snuffed it away. Vacations were no place for such awful thoughts to crop up.

"Oh my goodness, you're r iiight! They do live in town." Tracy said as Aideen reminded her, her eyes lighting up at the memory. "Oh, Logan she's talking about Cortex and Network. Don't tell us you forgot about them." She grinned as she teased him. She knew he would remember the pair of former Corsairs. "Remember, Cortex wound up being Team Captain for a while before Mason, and Network was our 'go to guy'." She looked at him for a minute, not sure if he was putting her on or not. "He flew the Blackbird on like a zillion missions for you guys. Heck we all thought for sure he was going to be asked to join the X-Men, but when the two of them got the offer from S.H.I.E.L.D. and not a hint of an invite came from you teachers they took the offer. I can tell you though, they both were hoping to stay at the mansion, but I guess only the best of the best get asked to join you guys huh." She thought back to the old team and the good old days. Mason was still too hot to handle, fresh off his tour as bad boy of the decade, and her taste in guys was not the greatest. She had dated Cortex shortly before he was appointed to being Team Captain, but only briefly, and they never did much more than talk. She remembered him as not the best kisser, so it was not a physical relationship at all, plus she wanted to 'save herself' until it was love. She was so happy she waited for Mason to come into her life as more than a friend and team mate, and she knew he wouldn't be jealous at all... at least she hoped he wouldn't be.

"Oh yea, I was supposed to give Dylan a call earlier," Mason said dropping the quarter of the burger leftover and using a napkin to wipe his hands, a grin coming on his face. There were few things that could make Mason grin the way he was now, and the prospect of seeing his old teammates after almost two years. Mason had never been an easy guy to get along with, but somehow those two managed and more. Dylan was a genius, an incredible mind that amazed Mason time and time again what the guy could do with it. Mike was just as cool, though on the total other end of the spectrum from Dylan. He was a big guy and he was the first friend that Mason had that actually tried to give him that kind of structure.
"On second thought... I think I'll just text them and tell 'em to meet us. Dylan knows how to get ya talking," he said with a grin and took out his phone to send them both a text. He glanced up at Aideen while punching the texts into the phone. "You should stick around later and meet them. They're some interesting guys and you'd like them. Dylan man, he's a character. Damn genius like no one else in the world. Mike's real chill and cool, you'd like him too. They both work for S.H.I.E.L.D and doing pretty good for themselves." Mason shook his head and grinned as he sent the text. "They're doing really well for themselves. Shit really well, Dylan's raking in 250k a year just from S.H.I.E.L.D alone and he's dating some Swedish model. Mike's himself, bringing in a lotta dough and getting a chick left and right, sometimes two I hear," he said with a slight laugh.
His phone beeped indicating a text message and he opened it up, grinning at the contents. "They're both working today but they said they'll let us know when they can meet up. Man it'll be good to see them again." Mason closed his phone and picked up the last of his burger to finish it off. He was really looking forward to seeing them again and catching up with them again. Sitting back, content that he finished his food and that he was going to see some of his old friends again.
Mason's eyes trailed to the barely half eaten burger in front of Logan and glanced at him with a big smirk. "Man you are whipped. I never thought I'd see the day that you gave up a burger to let a chick sit on your lap," he said with a chuckle, giving him a bit of a hard time. He was happy that the two of them looked so content and happy, but he wasn't gonna let them get away without busting their chops a bit. They were both some of the most hardcore people he had ever met, and downright dangerous either way. To see either of them acting this relaxed was new, and actually suited them. Despite that, Mason still couldn't resist the chance to tease.

Aideen lifted an elegant eyebrow at Mason's little jab. "Funny, usually I'm the one that likes to be whipped," she said in with a stony expression, not giving away if she was joking or not. Mischief danced in her dark eyes, and she held back a smirk at the look on Mason's face. She was never so bold or brash to say anything vulgar in polite company, or any company rather. Aideen was raised properly to act like a perfect lady, but she could draw swords with anyone at anytime and welcomed it. "Maybe its just me, but I like it when a man finds me more important than a piece of meat. Apparently its a rare trait to find in a man." She had leaned forward to lean her forearms on the table, smirk on her face with her dark eyes still glittering in devilish delight.
"Perhaps if you were more assiduous to your girl rather than your food, you might have her on your lap. Take a lesson," Aideen said arching her eyebrows up in a sly and slick manner. She liked clashing swords with Mason, it was a good match of wits and wordplay that amused her time and time again. The table next to them freed up and Aideen reached over to pull a chair to the table, turning it around. She slid across Logan's lap to the chair, keeping her hand on his thigh as she leaned back in the chair and crossed her legs. Aideen winked at Logan and drummed her fingers on his hard thigh, not wanting to keep him from his meal.
"Took some notes there Mason? Might come in handy for the future," she said with a smirk looking from him to Tracy. "You take those notes and I'll be around later and meet your friends that you're just so excited about. It would be interesting to meet anyone who got anything through to that hard head of yours." It was partially a teasing statement, since she was intrigued to meet them, hearing about them in passing every now and then had piqued her curiosity enough. She was slightly nervous that they worked for S.H.I.E.L.D, but she doubted they would have anything to do with any program that her Uncle was in or any program that connected to her.

"Believe me, I get the attention I crave." Tracy said with a bubbly giggle. "But I know when to give him his space, I intend to keep all my fingers. You've seen how he eats." She laughed at the joke at Mason's expense. "I was hoping to see them, maybe tonight they can meet us for dinner or something?" Her tone was hopeful and she was pretty sure they could all afford the place she wanted to go.
"I'm not stuck up or anything, you guys all know that, but I was hoping to go to that real swanky place.. what's the name of it? The one right on the Lagoon, French food I think." she knew what it was from hearing about it, but she wasn't sure how to say it and felt her face flush slightly. "Ahjerwee? Audjervee? I don't know how to say it. How do you say it?" she looked, blushing, at Aideen for help.
"But there, I would like to try it, If that's okay with you guys?" her smile was disarming and she felt even Logan's mood shift from being his usual 'on guard' to something warmer. "If it's OK Mason would you text Mike and Dylan? See if they could meet us there?" she smiled and bounced a little in her chair. They had so much money after Mason's run last night, and she respected the fact that none of it was hers but the idea of fine dining in a French restaurant by a lagoon... oh it sounded too romantic for words.

"Aujourd’hui," Aideen said in the proper accent that not even a French local would think she was from anywhere but France. She placed her hands on her lap and bit her lip, thinking about it and weighing the options. It was a very fancy restaurant, and extremely expensive. She had been there twice her entire life, both times with her Uncle when he was entertaining a foreign diplomat or client. They had an exquisite cuisine and an extensive wine list, as well as a beautiful setting and live music. If they got a table on the terrace, it would probably be exactly what Tracy yearned for in the 'romantic' state. There was only one problem with that whole idea for Aideen.
"That means I will need a dress. As well as proper shoes." She sighed and sat up straighter to keep herself from slumping. "That means I need to go shopping." Her dark eyes flickered to Tracy for a moment and she knew that there was no way that she could say no to her. The trip was for them first and foremost and she looked so excited at the prospect. Aideen had no problem in a fancy setting, though it was not her preference she could bare it for one night. "They have a very strict dress code you see, especially in the Lagoon room. It is a lovely place, though I don't know if we can get reservations... no. No we can get them, I just need to make a call," Aideen said slowly, knowing exactly who she would have to call, but slightly worried that it would expose the fact that she was back in Boston to the one person she wanted to avoid at all cost. She forced that worry away to keep Tracy from discovering it and offered her a tiny smile as a distraction.
She pushed a strand of her hair back over her head, a thoughtful look coming on her face to cover any sign of apprehension she had about the whole idea. "Find out how many people will be coming and I can arrange it," Aideen said with a small nod, eyes large as a convincing gesture that all was well. "This means you two will have to settle something other than jeans I am afraid. Denim is against their dress code." Her eyes darted to Logan. "Unfortunately they are rather cavalier in that sense."

"Aw man-" his hand slapping on his face as he thought about how much he hated to wear a monkey suit. Dragging it down slowly and looking across the table he saw Tracy's face and the look of it made him set his own grief aside. "I uh.. uh." he thought about trying to hide his dislike but then realized it was Tracy and she already knew what he was feeling. "Well, alright kid, but ya know I hate the whole dress up thing. Looks like we're all goin shoppin then. Lets get a move on." he said sliding his chair back slightly so that they would all get the hint and stand up.
He figured he'd eat the rest of his burger on the stroll and it would keep anybody who might get the crazy idea to speak to him from expecting him to answer them. Not that it would stop them from talking to him, but he honestly didn't mind this group. His sexy, chocolate eyed gal and the two Corsairs were probably the best group he'd ever spent some easy time with. Stress free was something he did rarely, even though he never let it get to him, when he did get time for himself there was only really one person he wanted to spend it with... his Angel Eyes.

Mason had glared playfully at both Aideen and Tracy before getting out his phone and sending Mike and Dylan a text on the plans for the night. "You two are just real riots you know?" he grumbled while balling up the burger wrapper and tossing it in the garbage can and stood up to follow the others to whatever store they were taken too. He didn't care where he went as long as his girl was happy. If that meant getting out the tux then he'd live with it. He didn't mind them all that much, but he hated ties. Whether it be a regular tie or a bow tie, Mason would rather spend a day with Inflict than wear one for an hour.
"Ya think I can get away with not wearing a tie? Naa I probably won't, shit." He glanced over at Tracy. "You're damn lucky I love you, you know that? I'm gonna wear a tie for you, if that ain't love I don't know what is," he said playfully as they weaved through the crowd of people. Mason was not blind to the fact that there were many Clan members in the area, many that he recognized from last night. He didn't feel like starting trouble, not now at least, so he did his best to avoid them and kept a close eye on his girl.
The little beep went off on his phone and he checked it to see new text messages from his two old friends. "They said yea they'll be there and they're each bringing a date. Dylan's gonna introduce us to Inga, his girlfriend and Mike got someone too," he said loud enough for Aideen to hear. "Make the call Fox, try and arrange it the best you can," he asked as they stopped in front of some boutique store that looked like the type that would have a bunch of clothes for the occasion. "Man it's gonna be a looong day," Mason muttered and stepped inside.

Tracy's eyes lit up at the array of beautiful gowns and accessories. She started to grin at the possibilities of what she might find and then turned at the three sour faced party poopers. With a playful scowel she said "I know none of you like this part but look at yourselves." she pointed out their reflections in the mirror on the far wall. "I want you all to take a good look! What do you see?"
"I'll tell you what you see...You people are hot and on top of that you will make these outfits look good. I know not a one of you like the idea very much, but dammit it'll be a blast and once we get this part out of the way you know you're gonna be feeling the glamor" she winked at Aideen "rocking the cuff-links" she batted her eyelashes at Logan "and making this girl drool" she gave Mason 'puppy-dog eyes and blew him a kiss.
"So enough of this 'I don't wanna crap' cause I really wanna, and you guys are gonna love it. I promise...Okay?" she hoped she would get through to them. The smile she wore was so very hopeful and for just a moment she felt it as they clung to their attitudes. Tracy felt the slightest breaking of the wall that they had all collectively put up and took advantage of it "Fantastic! C'mon!!" she said grabbing Aideen arm in arm and walking further in.
There was so much to try on and so little time, but being ever the team diva, she went for it wholeheartedly. Every label, every designer, present and accounted for and she made a hasty cursory trip through the racks to get her bearings. "OK I think this and this and this one... oh and let's see this red one too." She collected the delicate dresses in her arms and swept off to try them on.
It was a wonderful start to this day's shopping. The armful of gowns yielded three perfect fits out of four and she loved the red one so she saved it for last, stepping out each time she tried on a new dress and twirling on her toes for Mason's eyes to admire. "What do you think?" or "you like?" she would ask, every time knowing how he felt, but enjoying his response. It was the delight in his eyes, the way he held his hands and the words that he chose that made her smile. She loved him from his heart on out, and he never left her flat.
"Three out of four I liked, but that other one wasn't quite uh, big enough up top. Hehee, but I want to try on some more, cause I'm not totally loving these ones. I know..." she said sensing the wash of defeat as she announced she would keep looking "..but I have to really love it boo. I wont put you through it too long, but I'll know the dress when I see it." There was 'The Dress' out there somewhere, she knew it... she was sure it would sing to her when she found it and wrap her in the goddess's own embrace of gorgeousness when she put it on, she had to keep looking, she just had to.

The look on Aideen's face was nothing short of disdainful. She detested shopping, hated dealing with people, and hated trying on clothes that others put their filthy bodies in before her own. She bought her clothes at a tailors, were it was much simpler. The man had the exact measurements of her body, ordered her clothes that were a perfect fit, and all Aideen had to do was say what she needed. It was simple, and far less frivolous than this type of shopping. Nonetheless, Aideen held her head high and walked right over to the area with the older style dresses, successfully keeping a look of disdain off her face. I survived the jungle under the worst conditions, lived in the desert for months, and underwent six months of intensive Mossad training, yet here I am in a dress store acting like I was put on death row. This is ridiculous.
Musings passed through her mind as Aideen decided if she would prefer death row over dealing with the bimbo of a sales girl that kept asking her if she needed help. Though Aideen had been more than polite declining the help, she just kept coming back with more questions. "No thank you, I am quite capable of picking out a simple dress on my own." If you ask me again I will use this hanger to pop the implants that are falling out of your top. An odd sort of smile came on her face, a mocking of the girl's perky smile, though her own was dripping with venom. "You might want to get some new clothes while you're here too, it appears your shirt shrunk," she spat and grabbed the dark red corset dress from the rack and spun away toward the dressing rooms, already annoyed by this trip.
She stepped into the large stall and pulled the heavy dark blue curtain back to close her in, proceeding to try on the dress rather hastily, throughly annoyed by the sales girl. Despite her irritation, she had to admit the dress was lovely. It was an old style dress with a more modern twist, and had a back laced corset top. Aideen had always preferred corsets, feeling them to be more practical for a dress and elegant as well. The downside was the work required to wear them and put them on and take them off. The bright side to that was that there was no extra work of a brassiere involved. Folding her clothes to the side neatly, she slipped into the dress gently, working it over her body and fitting into it like a glove. Aideen knew her body well enough to know by a glance what would fit her right and what wouldn't. The dress hugged her torso nicely, and still kept the elegance that Aideen required of any clothes she owned.
Sucking her stomach in and keeping shallow breaths, her practiced fingers moved over the strings and laces on her back, tightening them as tight as she could, working her way from the mid back to the waist. The process was slow, for every lace had to be pulled to as tight as possible. The waist was the hardest, for there was the most amount of string to be pulled, and it had to be tight but not too tight. Aideen sucked in her stomach again and worked to tighten those last laces, while looking at herself in the mirror. That sales girl should take a lesson on the correct way to display the goods. Mine are at least real. She inspected herself from every angle, not admiring, but simply inspecting. She had never admired herself, but she always inspected herself from every angle to make sure everything looked right. She pulled the laces tighter, her fingers red from the force of her pull as the remains of the leather was wrapped tightly around her slim fingers to allow her to pull it in all the better.
