As scary and chaotic the previous night was, they had a contrasting morning of relaxation and fun. They were back at the campground by the river, and the smell of breakfast was cooking over a small fire. Jocelyn of course, was swimming in the rushing river, the water so choppy and rough that only an Atlantean could swim in the waters and not get swept away by the river. She shook her wet hair back and looked over at Dane with a grin. "Emma and Scott are used to strays coming over every once in awhile, and I soooo bet that you're gonna have a bunch of fan girls waiting to fawn over you," she said with a laugh. She liked him, and now got why her dad and Uncle Namor were so fond of him. He was funny, and witty with great stories. She didn't want to stop hanging out with him so soon, and her face literally fell when Ariel announced they needed to get on the road soon. After everything last night, they all managed to calm down while Mato tended to their injuries and under his instruction, Jocelyn patched him up enough till Tracy could come back and heal him properly. They had a big meal too, thanks to Kelly, and were pretty content afterwards, staying up pretty damn light just talking and laughing. Jocelyn had barely left Stephen's side the entire night, and when she fell asleep curled up against him. After merging with him and seeing what he had to go through, she didn't want to leave him alone. There were selfish reasons behind it as well though, being rendered helpless by those spirits really shook Jocelyn up. No one could tell, except for Shade who had actually been there to see what the immediate effects did to her. It was like this nonsense fear consumed her that it would happen again. She didn't really ask anything of Shade, but she didn't want to be alone and she felt safe with him. Jocelyn turned around on the rock and settled herself on it so her legs could dangle in the water. "Beside's I can sit on Kelly's lap and we can fit all of us in the car." She glanced at the look on Kelly's face and realized how bad the idea might actually be. "Um, maybe stick to Mato or Stephen's lap. Sorry Kelly, but I know you too well," Joce said with a giggle.

"Hey Kelly, better luck next time buddy." Dane said with a chuckle as he was doing the cooking over the open fire, a skill he had mastered what with all his time spent in centuries past where microwaves and coffee machines would have been thought of as magic. "I think that might not be a bad idea, I could give Scott and Emma a little debrief about what went down out here, you all know how Scott has a hard-on for debriefs. I mean I love the guy but c'mon, enough already right?"
He flipped the bacon he was cooking and then picking up the rag he had he went and adjusted the coffee pot that was boiling up, setting it on a warm rock at the side of the blaze. Sniffing the air he let out a resounding 'Aaahhh' and nodded his head at them "Coffee smells ready. Who wants?" He looked at their faces. "What's up with you guys?"
There was a look of something slightly shocked. "What? Didn't expect me to say I'd come? Hey, I don't get back to the States too often anymore and when I'm here it's nice to drop in on some old friend." He smiled as he stood up and took a step back placing his hand on the mystic pendant he wore. "As for a ride..." He closed his eyes and invoked the name "AVALON". Instantly he was shrouded in light that almost blinded them all but as it faded he was garbed in his battle armor and standing next to him tossing his head was a beautiful white winged stallion. "I have Strider here for that." He patted his steed's neck and asked him "How ya doin big guy?"

The pure fascination and respect within the gaze of the wise young Shaman was prevalent as he looked upon Dane and the winged horse, a creature of the Gods and a blessed figure in the spirit world. Mato bowed his head in deep respect to the sacred mythical creature, showing his humility and humbling himself in front of the great being. "A magnificent creature you have by your side Dane. It is my honor to be in his presence," he said looking up at the pair, eyes shining in reverence.
From the very moment he had arrived in the school, an endless stream of encounters occurred beyond his wildest dreams. He met the God of Thunder in his first hour at the school, saw the dark world of demons, and met some of the most prominent figures in the world all in one night. Now in addition he met the honored and Great Black Knight. The legendary figure has spent the night with them and spoke with them as if they were old friends. Mato was even given the honor and privilege to come to the aid of him after the unexpected and somewhat frightening battle.
A sense of comradeship formed between the group and the legendary Black Knight. Mato admired him for more than just his title, finding that he was just as pleasant and down to earth as the Caribou that resided in his spirit. As with most people, he reacted to them in a manner that would respond well to their spirits. Mato appealed to the purity within everyone, though there were exceptions to that rule. Dane however, was not one of them. No, the Caribou was known for their social behavior, their connection to home through time and distances and their ability to discern the morals of those they surround. It was that knowledge that had him at instant ease around him.
"The school might be more of a bargain than you may have in mind," Mato said exchanging a look with the others as he thought of the crazy week they just had. "I do agree with Jocelyn that a myriad of fans will more likely than not form at the news of your arrival." He smiled over at Jocelyn knowingly, his breath taken away once again by her foreign and striking beauty. He had never seen an Atlantean up close, but he had sincere doubts that there could be one that matched Jocelyn. Her very nature made her beauty shine through, and though he saw the newly developed skittish nature of her dolphin, there was no doubt in Mato's mind she would overcome it.

"Whoa...cool trick, pretty trippy. Does that.. uh.. horse..?.. have a name?" Stephen said as he pulled out his six demon bag and set it on the rock in front of him. Sure he had stolen it from Alpha Flight Headquarters when Wolverine, Emma, and the Hellions had been attached to them for a few missions dealing with some mystical alien crap, but he stole it fair and square so it was HIS. It hardly held anything except his pot, pipes of various styles and rolling papers.. oh yes and his lighter of course. That is all it held now, but it had once been the repository of countless evils and talismans of dark natures.
Reaching in to the bag up to his shoulder he said "Yeah, I like magic tricks. Watch me pull a rabbit outta my bag." The depth of the bag was immeasurable, and as it sat on the rock before him his entire arm sunk down into the tiny leather pouch. "OOops, no rabbit. Just a smoke." It was his reserve pre-rolled fatty. A blunt the size of Kentucky that had the look of a good old hand rolled Havana Cigar straight from Cuba. "I figure we deserve a little celebration 'cigar' to celebrate that we made it through the weekend without killin each other or dyin at the hands of some creepier-than-me specters straight outta Scooby-Doo." He looked at Splice with a raise of an eyebrow then around the group of mutants before raising his eyes to the Knight. "Care to join us Dane? I been savin this cigar for a special occasion and I think this is it."
It had the look of nothing sinister yet the whole group, save for the Black Knight, knew exactly what it was. "The best thing about this bag here is it keeps things fresh better than any ziplock I have ever seen. I had this sandwich in there once for like almost a month, it had mayonnaise on it too, and when I finally found it again it was totally fine." He nodded at Kelly "Right? You didn't even know it had been in there a month did you?" Stephen had, until that very moment, kept the information about how long the sandwich had been in his pouch from Kelly.. who had been the guinea pig of Stephen's unplanned culinary experiment.
"So join us, wont ya?" He pulled his lighter out of the six demon bag and began to light the fatty. It had a rich aroma, a bit piney, but more of an earth vanilla, not to harsh as to give away that it wasn't just tobacco. It was a brilliant mix of three types of pot and some Captain Black's pipe tobacco. "Aaahhh, smooth as a baby's ass and luscious as her momma's teat." He passed it off and looked up at Dane, motioning for him to come and join them.

"OHMYGAWD HORSEY!" Kelly shrieked and was about to make a move to jump up and pet the winged horse if Shade hadn't offered the blunt. It took him a split second to snatch it back up and take a long deep pull. Kelly's eyes were wide as he held the smoke in, passing off the blunt to Hotwire. His cheeks were puffed up from the pull and he nodded his head up and down with a smile on his face. Man Shade is the best, he's like, ALWAYS prepared. Aw man I better breathe out soon. Yea I really gotta let it out. Maybe I could just visualize myself breathing.... yea I could do that. In....out.... In... oh man look at the buns on her, Joce is like mega hot babe now. I wonder what they put in the water in-
For one moment Kelly started swaying back and forth, about to pass out before he finally let out a breath. "OOooooHhh man that was a rush. I sucked it in really well man. Just like your mom did to me," he said to Shade with a big smirk. "BUUURRRNN!" He pointed his finger at Shade and laughed out loud, tossing his head back and slapping his knee from laughing. "Man I'm good, yeaa. Anyways Dane, it's gonna be awesome with you there. I gotta show you my Bazooma Boob wall since last time man. I got like the BEST picture of Dazzler up there, you gotta see it man. OH and I got one really REALLY hot picture I took of Rogue when she wasn't look. Don't tell her though, cause you know, that would suck for me."
He sat back, a big silly grin on his face as he thought about the happiest of thoughts that were always on the mind of one Kelly Burns. "Hey, hey Joce. You gotta be on my Bazooma Boob Wall. Like I don't got a blue babe on there yet, and you're like... well c'mon look at you! You got like mega jugs and well come on look at you! You gotta join. I got my camera in my room we can make it happen!" He said with a big grin on his face at the thought. He knew just where he would hang up the picture too.

Jocelyn rolled her eyes and stood up on the rock, stretching out her muscles. "We'll talk Kelly, I can schedule you in right after my date with Spider-Woman. God I wish, now she is HOT," she said and flew up above the rock with the powerful small wings on her feet fluttering smoothly in the air to land on the grassy bank of the river not far away from the horse. "I gotta say Dane, you're like THE coolest guy ever right now. Uncle Namor told me about him, Strider right? Granted it was only till after I bugged him and gave him big sad eyes that never fail, but he told me anyways. All while on his way to some council meeting. He loves me." She gave Dane a big cheeky smile and giggled as she held her hand out for Strider to inspect.
"Hey there handsome fella. You up for dragging Dane's big butt all the way to the school?" She cooed and stroked his velvety soft muzzle gently. "This is seriously awesome, I just got back on Friday, before Kelly here grabbed me and Shade to crash Ariel's little campout. I didn't even get a chance to explore the grounds, I haven't been back since they rebuilt the school, so that should be awesome. OH and Tracy should be back when we get back too! I was amazed how good she looked and Mason too! Wow they both look so grown up, its crazy!" Jocelyn grinned up at Dane and used her fingers to tickle Strider's muzzle.
"Did you guys pack up all your stuff yet? Oh Dane can ya pour me some coffee? We don't have any cream do we? Kelly?" She looked over her shoulder and gave him an adoring grin. "If you make me some cream, and I mean the kind made from cow's milk, I'll seriously consider that spot on your wall," Jocelyn grinned at him knowingly, taking a pass on the blunt being passed around. As much fun as she was having with her friends, Jocelyn missed the mansion and it had been too long since she'd been away from it. As much pain as it caused her, it was a home to her like no place else.

Ariel inhaled a long drag of the blunt given to her and closed her eyes for a moment, inhaling the air, a mix of the fresh morning with the blunt right in front of her nose. She held her breath briefly to let it get into her head before she let it out in a puff of smoke. She giggled a little and looked at the blunt again, debating if she wanted another drag of it. She would be driving them home later, she remembered, so in a wave of responsibility, she handed it off to Mato and tried to ignore the next set of giggles she wanted to let out.
"So, once we're all packed...and I'm not lightheadedy, we can go home. Sound good?" she asked the others before looking over to Dane and pursed her lips confusedly. "Um, I dunno if we have enough room for you in my car...it was a squeeze with these party crashers," she said, tilting her head and her top half slightly towards Kelly, Joce and Stephen, "And oh wait. OH yeah okay," she said, just remembering with a slow turn of her head to the winged horse nearby. "Hope you two can keep up with my Stang then," she said to Dane with a sly smirk. "We can race back to the school if you want, but no flying over traffic and stuff like that. That's cheating," she said, raising an eyebrow at him slightly as she eyed the horse again. It was pretty cool, but she preferred her Wild Mustang spirit animal, and her car of course.

"Yeah Joce, that's his.. name.. and.. thank you Mato." Dane patted the neck of his winged steed to distract himself. He was trying not to notice what was going on with the young people. "He's, uh.. a gift from The Lady In The Lake, and he.. he's- ok hold on." With a tap to his amulet, his mount and equipment returned to their otherworldly home and he stepped over to take the blunt from Hotwire's outstretched hand.
"Look I don't care what you do to yourself but if you're smoking this stuff" He held it up in front of her face "and YES I know what this is," He handed it back to her "and then you get behind the wheel and drive, you could kill everybody in your car and several other cars if you really make a bad mistake. I can't let that happen, not on my watch Ariel." He shook his head, somewhat disappointed in her poor judgement. "Not very bright of you, actually pretty messed up if you ask me."
"Splice," he pointed at her as he went to pour the coffee "you're driving! The rest of them want to get high that's on them, but you turned it down so you can drive. Here ya go" He handed her a cup of his special range ground joe, and winked at her. "Can ya handle that?" He couldn't believe that one of Scott's top college kids was intending something so irresponsible and selfish. He was no stranger to making bad mistakes, everybody did, but at least he never took stupid chances with other people's lives.
"It'll be fun to see everybody." I got one hell of a de-brief for Scott and Emma after this, I still can't believe that Ariel.. what was she thinking? "And you know it's good luck to have a winged stallion in your stables, so me and Strider might just hook you kids up." He thought about the old mansion and wondered how it might look after the rebuild. He had seen footage of what went down on the news, how the building had been mostly leveled, but he was sure it wouldn't show a bit of damage by now. "Careful with that, it's real hot" he said pointing to to the coffee cup in Jocelyn's hand "Anybody else want some?" He held the coffee pot up and looked around.

In his polite and quiet manner, Mato declined the passing roll as his river gray eyes focused on Ariel in sympathy. He understood the reasoning behind Dane's scolding, as the Caribou was nothing if not responsible and always the precautionary one. Shade, wise as he could be, indulged in the strongest of nature's bounty and it would be dangerous for Ariel to get behind the wheel for the rest of the day. Nonetheless, he expected her to be less than happy, even in her current state, to allow someone else to drive her car.
"I would like some too as well please," Mato said to Dane and took the cup of hot coffee from him. He was never a big fan of coffee, but asking Kelly to produce his favorite tea seemed like a dangerous task. Drinking coffee was not the most unpleasant of experiences for him, as he drank it every once in awhile since he came to Xavier's. The particularly coffee that Dane poured him wasn't horrible. It was much smoother than the type Mason drank and was not as bitter as what he what he had beforehand.
The Great Grizzly that laid next to him was staring intently at Jocelyn, for not any other reason than the difference in her mannerisms between yesterday morning and this morning. Mato had been sneaking glances at her as well, and not just for her great and unique beauty, but also because of how different she acted. It seemed that the close encounter with the malicious spirits brought something down in her. Her manner was not as light as it once was, and the Bottlenose Dolphin swam by her in a more guarded manner, like expecting an attack at any moment. Mato could only hope that she would one day regain that light she held, the one that gave him a breath of fresh air.
Setting his cup aside, he went back to packing up his belongings. They were nearly all packed, and had a small hike back to the campground where the car was located. With three members of the group with altered minds, the journey would be an interesting one for sure. "I believe now would be the time to get ready to leave," Mato said, standing up with his pack on his back. He leaned down and offered to help Ariel to her feet, wondering how the three of them would handle the antics of Kelly Burns and the Shade.

"OH give me a hoooome where the buffaloes roooaam and the- Hey I see Joce's side boob! Yes!" Kelly shouted and then giggled as he turned a bottle of water into a bottle of coffee creamer. He didn't know what flavor he made it, but he was thinking of cookies the whole time. "Oh man this is strong stuff Shade- OHMANBUUUUURRRN!" He was all over the place as he staggered back and pointed at some spot between Hotwire and Dane. "Wicked burn- HEY! Why is my finger so short? Oh wait." He uncoiled it and was all smiles again.
He took another hit from the blunt before he passed it back to Shade with a big goofy smile on his face, "Man I can't wait to get home. I miss the girls. I bet they're all nice and snug in Emma's shirt just waiting for me." He nodded his head, mouth open as he thought of his girls that he totally worshiped. "Yea man, you know what I'm talking about Dane, everyone loves the girls."
Kelly slung his backpack over his shoulder and half fell and leaned against Jocelyn, lolling his head on her shoulder so he could stare at her boobs directly. "Man Joce, yours like really popped. Remember Shade man, she used to be our little Pebbles. Now she's Poppin' Jugs. Poppin' Jugs, and man," he took that moment to check out the behind on her again. "She got some nice 'assets' too. Hahaha I said assets." He starting walking just like that with Jocelyn. "C'mon Shade. you can lean on the other side man, she's got some nice cushioning. Ha. Cushions. I turned the couch ones into a sponge cake two weeks ago." He prattled on as they started back for the campgrounds.

Jocelyn threw her head back and laughed at Kelly, pushing him up from her shoulder. "You're baked, not drunk Kelly, you don't need to lean on me for support. You taught me the difference of the two remember?" She pushed him up off her as she bent down to grab her stuff, slinging it over her shoulder. "And I'll be taking these," Joce gave Ariel a sexy little smirk as she took the keys to the Mustang from the pocket of the girl's shorts. "I'll take good care of her Sparky, I promise." She winked and then looped her arms around both Kelly and Shade's waist.
"Now who's pimpin'? I got two hot men on my side and one of them still owes me twenty bucks," Jocelyn grinned and looked up at Kelly with a raised eyebrow. "You know that was from two years ago? Since then interest has rose. Let's see from that point on... you owe me probably around $150. Not counting the money for emotional damage." Even though Joce was playing around, she loved to see Kelly take it seriously when he was in this state. He was just so silly and cute that it tickled Joce to watch him. She knew Shade got a kick out of it too, as he usually fed into the freak out stages of paranoia.
"Mato, Dane, you guys have the rest of the stuff? Mato make sure Ariel doesn't wander off, she's not used to the strong stuff," she yelled behind her, grinning at them as she saw that they had everything under control. They took the twenty minute hike back to the campgrounds. Just before they got into sight of everyone else, Joce stopped them and reached down to fiddle with the Image Inducer. She had since fixed it, as she broke it enough to know what to do, but it still made her sigh as she used it to change into essentially what she would look like without blue skin. The long ink black hair stayed, as did her voluptuous body and sparkling navy eyes, but no more blue skin and pointed ears and winged feet. Jocelyn loved her Atlantean features, and she hated to have to hide them from the world. They were the one thing that she loved, but would be most condemned for.
"Looks like I'm normal now," she said with a sigh as they went over to the car to pack the stuff. Packing wasn't as big of a deal, it was getting into the car as the arguments for who got shotgun. In the end, with Dane's help. It was settled that Shade would ride up front, as Kelly couldn't be trusted so close to the controls and Shade wasn't the biggest far of a high Ariel, and Mato would ride in the back with Ariel and Kelly. Once everyone was settled in, Jocelyn peeled out of the campgrounds, singing along to 'Fat Bottomed Girls' at the top of her lungs as the wind blew in their faces through the open windows. It was finally time to go home.
