Her big ocean blues focused on Liv's whiskey brown eyes. "Oh wow," she replied. The water around her arms stopped circling however remained in the air. Heather didn't know it was that bad. And you got upset, she thought. Must be the reason Lorelai "defended" herself. "I would have gotten upset if someone ruined all of my stuff," she continued. "That really sucks. I'll definitely help you out later." She smile warmly and allowed the water to circle her arm again. She then looked at Veronika wondering about her take on everything.
"Hmm?" she asked before realizing what Liv just said. "Oh yeah. Not wolves per say, but Riker and Lurai were born like half wolf and half human. It is pretty cool." She smiled again, thinking about her teammates. They were really great members and friends and Heather was very happy that Riker was able to bring the idea of a pack to the New Mutant team. They were all very close with the exception of a few members of course.

Out in the Hall-
Kevin sat outside the room. He wasn't listening or anything dumb like that. He didn't really care to, there was nothing that the new girl could say that might interest him. She was a Paragon, his ex-best friend's room mate and it pained him a little to think of her. He felt like he'd been shoved aside for a lot of reasons. Sitting in the hallway as long as he had he couldn't help but run down the list.
He didn't like to be put out, not by anyone, it reminded him of his parents. He couldn't help how he felt, about being put out by Veronika, and he didn't want to be ignored by anybody and though Ian didn't it felt sorta like he had better things to do. It was probably all in my head. I guess I just don't mix well with others after all Kevin thought. I thought this school was different, like I was somebody here, like I had friends and I wasn't - wait! I DO have friends. Ian's my friend, he DID have something to do. Veronika's going to be spending all evening with me watching TV, Heather even had some good things to say. Constructive criticism. Don't make things worse, Kev, just relax. Forget about what's her name. Nah, I can't. She's still close to my heart maybe she needs me. He let the thoughts pass and went back to his work.
He had been making light sculpt playing cards and was through three suits, Diamonds Clubs and Hearts, when he heard footsteps coming closer. Looking up he saw Ian coming down the hall. "Hey! Check these out-" he held up a card. It was the Jack of Hearts and the back was beautifully intricate the backs of all the cards matched, since he only had to think of the pattern in his head, and the face of the card was wonderfully simplistic and styled in it's design. He flexed it between his finger and thumb and it bent without snapping. "I've been working on flexibility with my sculpts. When I get done with this deck can you show me that workout you were talking about? How did it go again?"

Ian stopped in the hallway, almost startled out of his thoughts as he didn't expect to see Kevin there. He had been focused on going over to check on Liv, hoping that she was feeling better after that whole thing. She probably was since he left her with Veronika, and he didn't know anyone better that could cheer someone up. Hell, he always felt better when he saw her smile, so he knew Liv had to be at least a little bit okay. "Whoa, awesome looking cards bro. You came like, a looong way with your power and stuff," Ian said with a grin looking at the cards with interest.
"I'll show you the workout tomorrow when we're at the gym, I just had to go and have Ivy check all my school stuff and now I promised to go do some stuff with Liv." He smiled slightly and craned his neck to see if Liv was out there yet. She's probably still inside with Veronika and Blondie. Hope she is at least, he thought before looking back at Kevin. "I'll catch you later okay Kev? Stay cool bro," Ian said before walking to the door.
~KNOCK~ ~KNOCK~[/i] He opened the door and poked his head in. "Everything cool dudettes?" Ian opened the door wider and his grin got bigger at the sight of an all cleaned up Liv. "Well look at that, you clean up pretty nice babe. Damn," he said sincerely impressed. It was obvious that Veronika dressed her up since he'd seen her wear that sweat suit before, but she looked... well good. She was all clean and her hair was curly like hell, but it looked pretty and stuff. "Wow I'm gone for like twenty minutes and you guys did some kind of extreme makeover. I wonder what you woulda done if I came back in an hour, heh." Ian was teasing of course, but he was happy she looked like she was feeling better than when he brought her in.
"You ready to head out Liv babe? We'll go to the kitchen and stuff and then to see Doc. He's mad chill and then I was thinking we could just chill until dinner. If it's cool with you and all," Ian asked lightly. He didn't want to force her into anything, but he really did want to hang out and not cause he felt bad or anything, but she seemed cool and he liked cheering people up. "I wouldn't mind seeing as it's probably the only time you'll get the model look like this," he added with a chuckle.

An adorable and endearing giggle escaped Veronika as she put a small dainty fingertips to her lips, only enhancing the image. "Oh Ian you are terrible! Just because she does not like to wear make up or do her hair up all the time does not mean she cannot look pretty," she said in a light scold to him as she stood up to carefully place the now smooth and sectioned ringlets away from Liv's face. The girl was decent enough to be deemed acceptable right now. She was nothing close to Veronika's level of course but her skin was fair, she had nice hair and her facial features were pleasant except for the new injuries, which Veronika knew would heal quickly.
"Do not let him tease you so, he can be so terrible when he's not being so sweet," she said winking at Ian and smiling at Liv. She leaned in to whisper in a low voice for only Liv to hear. "Do not worry about your things or the cold trash. Both are going to be taken care of." She bit her lip and looked at Ian again, his handsome beaming smile was enough to make her giggle again. "Until then, have fun with him. He is an amazing guy," she whispered before moving away and fixing Liv's hair one final time to make some of the curly ringlets frame her face in a pretty way.
"You will come back and see me later yes? I want to get to know you better, and I know the rest of the Paragons will as well," Veronika smiled sweetly as she searched the light amber eyes, enrapturing them with her hypnotizing sapphire eyes. She pushed her lightly towards Ian and smiled ever so sweetly. She was now satisfied that this new girl was well within her sphere, and at this rate she was there to stay. Oh how Veronika loved the power she held over people, the knowledge was intoxicating to the core.

With a snort, Liv stuck her tongue out at Ian’s teasing. “Shaddup, I’m adorable,” she informed him, giggling right along with Veronika. A slight blush burned her face and she ducked behind her hair to hide it from the others. She was still chuckling but it stung that they were making such a fuss over a little velour and hair product. Had she really been such a dog before? Jeans and t-shirts were just comfortable and durable and at home that was all that was required of clothes. What was the point in wearing Juicy Couture when you were mucking out stalls or camping out in the woods? Liv was no fashionista. She knew very well that she would never hold a candle to Veronika or Heather... they were just different sorts of girls. Liv was the simple salt of the earth. They were the flashy upper crust.
Liv listened as Veronika assured her that everything would be dealt with and nodded. For a moment two pairs of jewel-bright eyes regarded each other, one set brilliant sapphire, the other smoky topaz. “Thanks, V. For everything. Really.” They were from different walks of life, yes, but Liv considered the redhead a girl after her own heart. Veronika was just as wicked and mischievous... just as fun, and Liv was glad for an actual friend on the team. The other Paragons she’d met were cool, but she was still too new and yet untried in their eyes. And hurling down Chase’s back probably hadn’t endeared her to her new team captain. Time would solve that, but until then… she smirked at Veronika, pure trouble in those large tawny lamps. “Give her hell for me,” she whispered. Of course, Liv would be bringing her own breed of justice down on the blue-haired bitch soon enough, but for now… she had more important things to think about and more interesting people to spend her time with.
Like her impromptu hero.
Turning to Ian, the Jersey girl pouted. “Aw, I don’t need to see a doctor. I’m just a little bruised, big guy. Nothing to fuss over.” That wasn’t completely true but Liv wasn’t in the mood to sit around a nurse’s office just to get a lolly and an icepack. She’d had quit enough ice, thank you very much. No, she would be far happier to just hang out with Ian and take it easy. “I’m fine now. I really am.” Getting to her feet, Liv stretched her achy muscles and tucked her damp clothes and sneakers under her arm. “Thanks again, V. And it was nice meetin you, McCarthy.” Liv smiled lazily at them both, her split lip pulling a bit, before she wandered over to Ian and leaned on the open door. It was weird. She’d never been so eager to get a juice box in her life. She looked up and her grin turned into something more genuine. “Lead the way.”

Heather smiled warmly and waved at Ian and Liv as they left. Well... this Liv girl seemed OK, and when it came to Gavin, she was not as concerned anymore. Liv didn't seem to give anything away and she described him perfectly. But his mannerisms didn't show that he was romantically interested. But why is it still bothering me? She heaved a big sigh and turned back to her vanity just to make sure her hair still looked good. Of course, since it was Heather, not one strand of hair was out of place and neither was her make up. It reminded her of how she use to be back in "normal" high school back in Brooklyn. She was the fashion/girly girl/ girl next door of the school. She was friends with everyone in every clique and wasn't much of an angry person at all.
That all changed of course when she came to the Academy. She didn't wear make up every single day since she was going to school the same place where she lived. Thankfully she was already pretty without the make up, but it didn't hurt to enhance her features a little... or a lot, once in a while. She wanted to look and feel pretty for Gavin tonight since it was their first real date outside of the school. And she couldn't deny the fact that she wanted to look sexy as well. She didn't really know how to be sexy since she never had sex before. But from the tips Veronika and her wonderful mother gave her, it didn't seem too hard.
Heather grabbed her eyelash curler and used it. "Is it just me, or do people like to give me weird nicknames around here?" She giggled at the thought but she was rather serious. Liv's name for the New Mutant was rather formal since she was able to call Veronika "V", and Ian always called her "Blondie". But Ian was allowed to since he called her that from the first time they met. He was a good friend and was glad she was able to have that kind of relationship with him after everything that happened.
"Anyway," she continued as she applied the eye shadow Veronika mentioned earlier. The fresh beach look was a great idea, considering it definitely made Heather look like a natural beauty than a drag queen. "I told you Gavin didn't do anything! He acted with her like he always does with girls. That doesn't mean he doesn't like me anymore." Her last few words didn't sound as convincing as she wanted them to be. But she just hoped Veronika didn't pick it up. Am I trying to convince Veronika.... or me?

Tia walked out of Ana's room, no longer having hovering bags following her. Kris was in Ana's room and Tia could only take so much of Kris and Ana time. It was silly of her to move into Ana's room when she knew Kris slept over practically every other night, but well- her powers could always drown their voices out of her ear, and so could her iPod, so on second thoughts, maybe it wasn't such a silly idea. Ana's room was big enough for Tia to not feel too much of a difference in the amount of space she had to herself.
Almost automatically, Tia headed for Veronika and Heather's room but ended up being sort of shocked at finding Kevin in the hallway. Alone. This was weird- Kevin was normally always with one person or the other, Tia'd hardly ever seen him alone. But there was always a first for everything- right? She pushed the thought away, and instead raised an eyebrow at Kevin. "Why are you out in the hallway?" she asked, her voice monotonous, her expression vacant for the most, however a hint of confusion was detectable.
She kept her eyes on the Acolyte for a second longer before she moved a little to knock on Veronika and Heather's room door, waiting to be let in.

"Ace of SPADES! AAaaand I'm done!" Kevin said generating the final sculpt of light out of thin air and examining it like he had done all of the other fifty-one cards. "Oh HI Tia." He looked up for a second holding up the Ace to show her before placing it down on top of the deck of cards. "I been busy here making- oh poo I better make some jokers too huh?" He grinned back up at her and went with a two for one sculpt as he crossed his hands in front of him and made mirror images for the jokers, one in each hand.
"Now I'm finished. I been making this deck of cards with my power and I gotta say I'm kinda beat, and I think I gave myself a headache." He closed one eye and then the other to test his vision "Yup that's a headache alright."
"I been out here cause I was banished from the kingdom." He grinned at the little joke, "but seriously cause the new Paragon girl was in there and something went down and Veronika thought it'd be best if I wasn't all in the Kool Aid askin' what flavor, ya know? Something with her *ahem* room-mate I think, but I can't care. Not that I don't want to, but I'm still a little sensitive to -nevermind, anyway I'm surprised you didn't hear it goin on. I saw you doing the little air lift trick, pretty cool" he smiled.
"So you really moved rooms huh? Nice, but isn't Kris gonna bug the heck outta you? I mean he does all the time anyway and now you basically moved into his room, since he's there more than I'm in Veronika's room." A slight giggle escaped him.

Kool Aid? What the hell. "Firstly, Kool Aid - Flavour? No I don't know what you mean." Tia replied, genuinely confused as to what Hardlight was trying to say. Was he trying to use metaphors- because he certainly wasn't clear enough to Tempest. She was learned in literature and often caught on pretty quickly to different metaphors or tricks and tweaks people used whilst speaking, however most of the time when Hardlight spoke, it just tended to send Tia'd brain into a never ending spiral where nothing made sense and having learned her lesson from past experiences, Tia simply asked Kevin what he was going on about rather than thinking on it and wasting her brainpower on things that didn't hold much importance.
"Secondly, I did hear what was going on, but it's none of my buisness." she replied with a simple shrug. Hardlight was in the room when Tia'd told Veronika she'd helped Chase switch the sheets- was it really that hard for him to guess why Frostbite had gone all Frantic on them? And how on earth did he get the impression that Tia didn't hear it? Everyone had heard what'd happened, especially Tia with her special hearing. Tia sighed, allowing the thought to float out of her head. Why bother making sense of the way Hardlight's mind worked? Tia'd given up on it a long time ago.
"Lastly, I have nothing personal against Kris nor Ana. They talk a lot when they're together, but even without my power, there are ways to block their voices out. So, don't worry about me." Tia looked over at Hardlight unamused. She stared at him for a second and then looked back at the door to Veronika and Heather's room. "Veronika, Heather, I'm coming in." she called out, opening the door gently to let herself into her friends' room.

"Tia!" Veronika said with a big smile as she looked up from doing the finishing touches on Heather's makeup. "You are all settled in yes? It is good that you finally moved into Ana's room, and no longer have to share it with that troll." She rolled her eyes and looked back down at Heather's face, applying a light peach blush on her friend's delicate cheekbones. Ever since Liv left, she had Heather get dressed and offered to do her makeup. Now, stepping back and taking a look at the final product, she was quite pleased with her work.
Heather's pretty dark blue eyes lined with the sandy eye shadow and black mascara stood out in such a way that the term 'Ocean Eyes' came to mind. Her lips were dabbed with some coral pink lip stain and strawberry flavored gloss for that subtle natural look. "Well, if this does not make his mouth drop to the floor, than I will have to question his sexuality and inform Kris," Veronika said with a giggle. "Tia, oh Kevin hello! Come in both of you and look at this one. Does she not look like she could stop traffic as they say?" She giggled again and beckoned all of them to come in and see Heather dressed in her adorable dress and her now made up face with the cute white Manolo Blahnik sandals that they bought shopping together.
"You look so stunning! And just in time, you have to meet him soon yes?" Veronika said looking at the digital clock on her desk and noted that she was due to come down very soon. "I want to go to at least see his reaction. Ian was speechless when he saw your hairstyle, imagine when you're seen looking like this! Are you wearing any perfume darling?" She looked at their vanities and noted the few different kinds of perfume they had. Both Heather and her didn't like to stray far from their preferred scent, Veronika's being Jasmine and Plums of course.

Heather pondered about which perfume to wear. She wasn't really big on it as much as Veronika was, but having a nice light scent wouldn't hurt. Scaling her vanity table, she searched for something fruity and not too strong... Ah ha! Bath and Body Works Sweet Pea Body Spray, she thought with a smile as she grabbed it. "This should be perfect," she commented as she spritzed it in front of her and slowly walked through the cloud of spray. She caught herself in her mirror and looked at herself. She really felt pretty and more than she even had in a really long time. For the first time she felt proud, confident and... sexy! Not that she planned to swing her ass from side to side every time she walked like Haven did but just that natural pride in herself that most guys usually found to be attractive.
"Hey guys," she said warmly as Tia and Kevin settled themselves into her and Veronika's room. She was glad to see Tia, since she usually was pretty straight with things and had a monotonous way of saying them. Kevin's re-arrival didn't make Heather too thrilled but Veronika's influence made her think more positive. Her date with Gavin was starting really soon and she checked her alarm clock on her nightstand to see the time. It was almost 6 and Heather sighed. "Yup, Gavin should be here soon," she continued. "Knowing him, he'll probably be late or something held him up or he fell asleep or whatever." She giggled at how well she knew him. But Gavin always apologized for not being on time and did really try hard to make it up to her. Usually he always did.
Now that she was completely ready, Heather looked at herself in the mirror one last time and bit her bottom lip. Gavin never saw her this dolled up before and she just hopped he liked it. Some guys liked the who natural beauty thing and no make up (very few were like that, but some nonetheless). When it came to Gavin, they never really had that discussion since he had seen her with light make up and nothing at all. Either way, she would find out soon enough.

Tia smiled weakly at Heather as she sat herself on Veronika's bed eyeing Heather vaguely. She looked pretty- the makeup was obvious for once, but didn't look ghastly or trampish. It was sophisticated. "You look pretty." was all Tia said in relation to her friend. Tia didn't like commenting on others unless she felt neccissary. She thought Heather looked nice, and it was as simple as that. She stated things the way she saw them and that was it. Tia was more of a girl who paid credit to Natural beauty than she did to Artificial beauty, however Heather was a naturally beautiful girl and the make up was simply used to highlight her pretty features.
Tia shrugged the thought away: there were other thoughts pressing on her mind. "So, what were you speaking to Rhetoric about?" Tia asked jumping straight to the point as she crossed her legs, getting cosy. "Do you see any potential?" she continued straight into her thoughts, knowing it probably wasn't the best time for the conversation considering Heather had the spotlight; but frankly, Tia found the team to be more of an imporatant subject. The Paragons meant a lot to Tempest, and the fact that they had a new member meant that Tia wanted to know all she could about that member- even though she prefered not to get the information first-hand. She trusted Veronika's judgement and her view on others. She also knew Miss Frost would not have put Rhetoric on the Paragons if she didn't truly believe she'd fit in... mind you, Miss Frost had indeed agreed to let Katana and Frostbite swap places.
However glad Tia was of getting rid of Katana, she wasn't all that thrilled, anymore, of having Frostbite on the team.

With an exasperated sigh Kevin had stood shaking his head slowly as Tia had come up on him in the hall. He didn't need literary lessons from some little girl since he knew how particular she could be about the spoken word. He looked at her and opened his mouth as if to let her know she needed to check her attitude because he didn't appreciate it but then he smiled blinking at her and turned his back to her.
Reaching down he'd scooped up his cards and he fanned them out a bit to let the glinting lightsculpts show their flares and intricate cuts. He really loved his power it was the greatest thing he had going for him. He had some wonderful friends but it seemed sometimes people could turn on him and be sort of fickle. Veronika's voice was so sweet though and as soon as he heard it he just wanted to be there with her, so against his will he'd gone in the room.
"Now who's all in the Kool-Aid?" He knew she'd heard the expression before, she had to have and besides it was pretty self explanatory- being all into some business but not knowing the details. He wondered what was so difficult to figure out as he sat there next to her. He'd went against his will and followed her into the room expecting just what was happening to happen. He didn't really feel like being there now, it was going to be all about Heather and all about Tia and even all about Liv and he didn't feel like bothering with all the noise.
It was no secret that Tia was an annoying little girl that people tolerated. Well, some may have genuinely liked her, but Kevin tolerated her at best because she had potential to be someone of importance. Right then though it dawned on him. Who decides who is going to be important? That's just total bull and I don't think I like this game anymore, people picking and choosing who is better and who is worse. What ever happened to people being genuine and real with each other?
He had the urge to turn right around and give her a piece of his mind about talking about things that she had just snapped at him in the hallway about, and shrugging like she was trying to be all cool about it too? None of her business, yeah right. If it was really none of her business then why's she asking about exactly who she just implied didn't concern her? He couldn't take it any more he was going to snap.
He bit his lip and tried to ignore as best as he could, Heather did look divine but he was not feeling at home anymore, not after being put out in the hall like some bad dog, and stupid him he stayed there and waited. Kevin, YOU are better than this, just decide THAT for yourself right now and leave. He would have too but the anticipation of Veronika's voice and the sparkle in her pretty eyes held him there. Oh I can listen for a sec.

"Do not worry Heather, he should be here soon. Kevin! Please do not tell me you drink that disgusting stuff, Kool-Aid is so horrible for you!" Veronika said with wide eyes moving her own vanity chair around to face them with a brilliant smile as she played with her the silky strands of deep red hair that fell from her ponytail. She was proud of her handy work, though she personally felt it was wasted on Gavin of all people. Oh sure she would admit he was handsome, the classic rockstar with the tattoos and the hundred watt smile that could make any girl swoon and even the wings had their appeal after the freak factor was looked over, but he was just not the one that Veronika would want for her best friend. After all, her friend's image reflected her own as well, and Gavin was in the end too much of a frivolous flirt to ever be able to be the guy that Heather needed. Nonetheless, Veronika wisely would allow Heather to discover this fact on her own, and until then do her best to make her happy and keep her own image.
Her sapphire eyes turned on Tia and she sighed. "It seems that disgusting pile of smurf droppings brought it upon herself to attack our new team member and destroy her things," she said in a slightly darker tone that made it evident to everyone in the room that she was quite upset. "I will tell you when she told me after, but I think it is time for us to call together Chase, Sky, and Lian, and of course Kris and Dante and take care of this problem properly. I will not have the Paragons tolerate such behavior just because someone decided to give that waste of space one of our uniforms." There was a note of finality in her tone and a strategy already in place in her pretty little head, along with several others already on the verge of falling through.
She planned to talk to Tia more about it all in-depth of course when they were alone. Of all the Paragons, she was her favorite for many reasons. The girl's potential was incredible for what Veronika could mold her into, and her current traits were acceptable and useful. She was quiet and observant, too entranced by the pretty redhead to see her for who she really was, but little else got past her. Her apathetic attitude toward others and emotionless outlook proved to be valuable in many situations, and also made her one of Veronika's main confidants. Slowly and surely, Veronika was making Tia into the perfect second-in-command, and in a couple of years the results would be amazing. "Do not forget the breath mints Heather," she said with twinkling eyes and a teasing smirk on her face.

"Yup I got 'em," she replied as she placed her mini Altoids in her clutch bag. Heather was really nervous as well as excited. She smiled at Tia, thanking her for the compliment. Even though she had plenty of alone time with Gavin, this whole dating thing was very different than how it would have happened back in the city. A simple subway ride to Manhattan would have been a date, or a casual walk down to the movie theater and a nice dinner afterward: those were normal dates. Thanks to Iceman, he was willing to let the two get as normal of a date as possible and give them a ride. Heather reminded herself to think of a way to thank the guy.
She looked in the mirror again, thinking that her hair had gone flat even though it was impossible for it to have done so. She was an expert when it came to managing her hair and since she had it cut and layered it was way easier to manage. Plus Veronika was able to help give some pointers to, as well as The Bibles: CosmoGirl and Seventeen. Speaking of seventeen, that was the age Heather was going to be. Quite soon in fact, and she was looking forward to her dad coming to visit. The divorce was taking a while, as it always did in New York City, but Gabriel McCarthy was glad to still have at least one woman in his life whom he loved.
Checking the alarm clock again, Heather was feeling way to anzy. "Veronikaaaaaaaa," she whined playfully. "Where is heeeeeee?" The New Mutant wasn't focusing on what was being said about Lorelai or what drink Kevin seemed to favor. Butterflies were in her stomach. Any minute now, Gavin would be there soon and then they would go on their date, and then she would ask him if he wanted to make it official; real boyfriend and girlfriend. Lorelai's problems were honestly the least of her worries at this point. And because she had been worried about the Paragon for a while now, taking a night off didn't seem to be a bad idea.
