Laying about watching the Sunset

Jaxon was sprawled upside down against the fence that supported the basketball post, his head leaning on his hands which were sticking out on either end. After getting some food to eat, he'd spent some more time talking with Joce, who had definitely turned out to be the coolest person at this school... and perhaps the first girl who hadn't slapped him today. A slow smirk appeared on his face as the video-memories of Ana and Liv both hitting him with a furious expression came to his mind.

Everything looked so weird upside down... and from where he was, he had front-row seats to watch Jocelyn who was sprawled on the floor in her short shorts and tight top. She really was a guy's best friend: 24x7 eye candy with no sexual pressure. It was brilliant. "Hey Joce!" he called out, his eyes spotting a cloud floating by in the sky. "That one looks like Cyclops' face when he got a full look at you. I swear his eyeballs were about to pop out of their sockets." he was grinning, although he doubted Jocelyn could see it considering her current model-strike posture. Jax took a mental picture of what Joce looked like from where he was sitting, and smirked, knowing Kelly'd want that picture of her legs on his wall.

Although, to the rest of the world, the duo looked rather strange in their comfortable silence as they gazed at the sky: one upside down and the other looking like she was posing for a high-end magazine on a white beach in Florida. Man, Jax was hardly missing home.

Stretching her limbs slightly, Jocelyn opened her eyes and squinted at the cloud Jax pointed at. "Oh please Jax, you can't blame him for being surprised. I'll show you a picture of how I looked before Atlantis. I was short, skinny, mosquito bites on my chest and a non-existent figure. I mean come on, looking at me now compared to back then, you wouldn't be able to keep your mouth closed either," she said lifting her legs up just to stare at them herself and feel proud of her shapely figure. Joce was having a blast hanging out with Jax, and he got along great with Kelly, so it worked out for her to be able to hang out with both of them. Their one on one time was just as fun though.

"Uncle Namor, I told you he was my uncle right? Anyways he told me that because I'm half Atlantean, staying in the water makes me grow better or something. All I know is that all it took was one year for this body to form on me while I was in Atlantis." With a bit of effort, Joce rolled over on to her stomach so she could look at Jax with a Cheshire cat grin on her face. "And it was so just in time. You should see some Atlantean women, I mean you think I'm hot, one of Uncle's Champions, her name was Kora, oh wow she was fine. She had some of the best legs I ever saw walk past. And.." Her grin deepened as she bit her lip coyly. "She was more than willing to experiment with me."

Jocelyn moved her hair over her shoulder as she bit her lip some more remembering the fun she had with that Atlantean Champion. "Have you seen some of the girls here though? They could give those Atlantean Goddesses a run for their money. I already have my favorite eye candies picked out," Joce added with a sly grin, always lit up when she spoke of her favorite combination of her home and girls. "If you're nice to me I might share"

"You might share?!" Jax scoffed, with half-hearted chuckles to follow. He would've laughed properly but he was currently hanging upside down, and laughing this way made his head spin a little. "I probably have more of a chance than you do, despite the whole blue goddess thing you have going." he teased while also giving himself a bit more of an ego boost... not that he really needed it. "Either waaaay," he said flexing out his arm muscles before letting them resume their previous position where they were supporting his head. "I actually haven't seen that much eye candy around here. You're the only one so far whose made me stop and stare." he said with a smirk, winking at his new friend.

"The other one who was at the garage with us- Ariel, right? She wasn't half bad. Easy on the eyes, but there was a little something missing." he said with a slight scrunch of his nose. This upside down thing was starting to make his head spin, so with a great backflip, he was back on his feet, although no sooner was he on his feet did he collapse back down. The blood couldn't rush down to his feet fast enough for him to be able to stand stable on them, and he dropped right to the ground, hurting his butt in the process. "OW!" he growled as he fell shaking his head and sighing.

"That sucked. Still a good backflip though." he smirked to himself before making himself as comfortable as he could on the ground with his legs crossed. "So, as I, the great Jax was saying..." he cleared his throat for effect, his husky voice changing in tone for cool effect, before- "Yeah, I've only seen two or three passable as goddess girls so far." he concluded in a bit of a monotone. "I don't see the competition you've mentioned." he hung his head dramatically with an unimpressed smile on his face.

The Cheshire cat grin on Jocelyn's face only widened as she looked at Jax, that kind of look that would make someone squirm in anticipation. "Ariel's a fine piece, but I don't think she knows where she stands well on whether she goes for tacos or sausage, and honestly I don't got the time for the girl to make up her mind." She winked at Jax. "I'm in high demand you see." She swayed her legs back and forth and gave a seductive grin thinking about her choice eye candy so far. "Oh well Ariel is still pretty to look at, and I'd say Emma too, but that's too weird. Emma practically raised me in some ways, though Jean did more since I knew her since I was a little thing. Same for Cyclops, that's why I get away with things with him," she said with a wink.

"Buuuut.... I've been to two classes so far, and I liked what I saw. My old friend Tracy, oh wow you'll see her and melt. She got this sweet and innocent look to her but she's short and got some killer curves. She always had curves but she really grew into them since I last saw her a couple of years back." Joce had an appreciative smile on her face as she leafed through the eye candy she had in the school so far. "There is a hot little red head number I saw in English class, but she's got that air to her that makes me think that everyone is out of her league." She rolled her eyes knowingly, having encountered those types of chicks before. She didn't let their high and mighty attitude bug her.

"Ah but my favorite... oh my I'm getting all tingly thinking about her. The Goddess in Leather I call her, though the first time I saw her she had a plain sweater and jeans that really complimented the most gorgeous legs and perfect shaped behind I've ever seen. Chick's name is Aideen, oh man she went out for the weekend on her motorcycle with Trace, yea I know how hot is that, but anyways she came down in these tight leather pants that should seriously be illegal, that's how hot she looked in them," Joce said licking her lips and shivering slightly at the memory. "AND she had on this leather corset. Oh man Jax, you'll see what I mean when she gets back. She's got this dark gorgeous skin, and her eyes, oh wow you gotta see for yourself, you'll fall in love right there." She bit her lip thinking of the gorgeous exotic dish and fanned herself with her hand.

She rolled over again this time so her head could lay on Jax's lap, making herself comfortable and throwing her arms behind her and across his lap. "See I just gave you some valuable information there, cause I know you're gonna have you're eyes peeled for them now," Jocelyn said with a smirk and reached up to tap Jax's lips in her playful flirtatious way that she had a feeling he was getting used to by now. "Now share with me a little of these hot numbers you're a little reluctant to tell me about. Sharing is caring you know, and don't you care about lil' ol' me?" Jocelyn pouted and gave him the most adorably seductive look she could manage. She had far too much fun playing around with guys.

"I don't believe you." Jax said with a grin so huge it almost stretched from ear to year. This Leather Clad Beauty that Joce was about seemed a little too good to be true in his head, and when things seemed too good to be true, the usually were. "Don't screw with my head, man." he narrowed his eyes playfully at Joce, giving her a bit of an exasperated look followed by a sigh. But... maybe... just... maybe she didn't have too good to be true. After all, he was sitting here watching the sunset with a hot blue goddess. Man, this was surreal.

Well, whatever. Whoever this leather clad chick was... Jax wasn't going to think about her... well, try not to think about her until he actually saw her in the flesh. After all, he was here with a freaking blue goddess, in all her flirty glory- how could a guy concentrate on something else? "You're a little minx you are! Taking advantage of my servitude and devotion!" Jax said, shaking his head with a mock disappointed look on his face. "Just 'cause my ma made me swear loyalty to all you Blue people, does not mean I'm gonna let you share and steal my eye candy man." Jax's lips spread out into a huge easy grin as he dropped himself down besides Joce, so he layed on his back with his arms beneath his head as he stared at the clouds.

"Well... if you must know..." he started, turning his head to now look at Joce. "There's this one on my team. Ana. Feisty one she is: a little skinnier than I usually like 'em, but still... uh, good to look at." Jax was going to say hot, but somehow that didn't quite sum up Ana. She had this whole mystery thing going, and she gave the world this strong exterior, when she really had a soft side inside. Jax couldn't quite think of her as just eye candy. She had a lot more to her than what met the eye. "And uh... oh yeah, I saw that hot red head you mentioned. She creeped me out a little to be fair. Had too much of a sugar thing going." Jax shook his head, giving a fake shudder as he rolled over to the side, supporting his head up on his arm.

"Oh yeah, and there was this tomboyish one... still hot though. Short blonde hair, skinny... huge boobs for her body though. You can't miss them." Jax said with a lazy grin. "Sky, her name was." he said, recollecting the girl who'd greeted him outside the rec room. "Mind you, they're not all that pretty. There was this other chick... heh, I don't even remember her name. Greasy dark hair, looked like she was on constantly PMSing. Jheez, she was the first girl I spoke to. Really put me off, that one." Jax shuddered, rolling his eyes at the memory of that girl. What was her name though?... huh, who cared.

Making herself comfortable by sitting up and leaning her back against his body, Jocelyn studied Jax's face, a slight smirk coming on her face after a minute. "Feisty huh? Seems she's more of the 'eye catching' kinda candy huh?" she nudged him slightly, teasing him with that since he seemed to guard her far more than regular eye candy would be guarded. "I wanna meet this girl, but hey some fail proof advice, compliment her eyes and get her a flower that matches them. Chicks melt every time, and if she has brown eyes, get her chocolates." She sighed and found herself sinking in against Jax, still smirking at him.

"Believe me I know there are uggos, though most mutants for some reason are pretty decent looking. BUT there are exceptions. I like my girls with killer legs, and the eyes get me every time. Legs do it for me though, if I can't envision a chick's legs wrapped around me, it kills the deal," she said with a content smile, crossing her legs on emphasis. "My Leather Clad Goddess has some killer legs, like nothing else. And she's got those dark dark brown eyes, sultry and seductive with an that mysterious air to them. The Atlantean Champion Kora had the most intense sea green eyes, it was like electric." She shivered pleasantly thinking of all the beautiful women she had the pleasure of encountering.

Her head lolled back and she looked at Jax with her head cocked a bit. "Promise you'll protect lil ol' me from uggos? I am the Blue Goddess after all, and Shade and Kelly can only protect me SO much." She paused for a second. "Ok so Shade could do it, but he's scary and would probably end up killing them," Joce said with a giggle. She adored Shade, and grew very attached to him this weekend. She still refused to let him sleep on his own, and she had every intention and plan to crawl into bed with him that night. "I haven't seen any uggos yet so you gotta point her out. I may just not have noticed. With a Leather clad goddess and hotties surrounding me, how can I?" She giggled again and shifted so she could lay her head on his arm. "For the record, I am nice enough to share my eye candy."

Relaxing into him, Jocelyn sort of just allowed herself to get rid of her constant guard. With it being the two of them and her liking Jax, it was fairly easy. "You know, I never had a solid girlfriend. Is that weird? I prefer more play than commitment. Relationships seem too much for me and I like to play the field, and I am too young to go for anything." She turned her body sideways so she could still use Jax as a pillow. "Maybe just no Goddess can keep this Goddess right?" Joce gave her Cheshire cat grin to Jax. "You found a Goddess yet to grab you? Or is that 'eye catching' candy the one in the running," she teased.

Liv skirted the school, taking her time as she followed the flitting shadow that was her sparrow warrior. Her bare feet picked over the grass silently, enjoying the damp earth against her soles. The woods were noisy with activity and a small smile relaxed her otherwise strained expression as she listened to the hum of the Academy’s nocturnal wildlife. She was unbelievably thankful that the school was surrounded by a forest. She figured it was probably to act as a buffer, a way to give the school and its rather special inhabitants a bit of distance from the anti-mutant town that surrounded it, but all Liv saw was a small piece of home amid the unfamiliar.

Home.

Liv’s steps didn’t falter but her posture drooped. She hadn’t been able to call her Da once since she'd been dropped off. She'd been too busy that morning while she was off sparring with Coffee and by the time she had gotten back to her room it was too late to save her poor phone from its chilly fate. She’d have to find out if there was a phone somewhere in the mansion she could use until she replaced her Nokia brick. Or maybe one of her teammates would let her call home? She might have asked Ian but she had a feeling that she wouldn’t be getting anymore one on one time with the good natured strong dude. Look sharp, Livi. He’s just ahead. Cuil came back to sit on her shoulder as they approached the basketball courts. Liv couldn’t help but smirk at the familiar form sprawled out on the court. She had been practically dying to catch up to RAM since Cuil had filled her in on his little failed showdown with Dante. She felt bad for the Idiot, but it only solidified her pride in her team.

She strolled onto the court, twirling her drumsticks casually as she came up behind Jax. As annoying and insufferable as the guy was he was… slightly entertaining. She’d consider not having a badger maim him for funsies… “Hey, Dumb Dumb! Ya miss me?” Liv practically jumped on the New Mutant and found herself in a pile of limbs, some of which she was pretty sure didn’t even belong to Jax. Her first hint was that they were shaved. The other… “Wow, are you ever blue!” Liv’s eyes grew round as she realized that there had been another person with Jax and Liv had just tumbled them both. “Sorry ‘bout that. Didn’t see you. Oi, Idiot,” she nudged Jax with her foot and smirked. “You gonna introduce us or can’t you talk without Dante pulling the strings?”

Jaxon would have introduced the girls to one another, but he was far too busy howling with laughter, hugging his muscular stomach for his dear life. "AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA-" he was now sitting up, unable to keep a ridiculous grin off his face as he looked over at Liv and Joce. He hadn't reallly mentioned Liv while speaking about 'eye candy' with Joce, but he guessed that was probably because she just came across as one of the guys to him. She was quite a tomboy, and had that total mess with me and i'll kick your ass thing going. However, she was still pretty. Not his type, but still easy on the eyes.

"Oh man, oh man, oh man." Jax chuckled, taking deep breaths to calm himself down. "Joce, I think Christmas has come early for ya babe. Or whatever it is you Blue people celebrate. Aw man, being pounced upon by Doctor Doo Little here." Jax's lazy grin remained on his face as he winked at Liv first and then Joce, taking a mental picture. This would be one to blackmail Doc DL with. Jax had decent hearing and good memory, he didn't miss her comment on Dante, but he wasn't going to let that ruin his mood quite just yet. That thing seemed like a distant memory already... what, after seeing this Blue goddess in the Garage and ambushing Cyclops?

"You heard about the Mohawk guy, huh?" he asked, his grin dropping down to a bit of a smirk as he tilted his head at her. "He was on the fritz, i'm telling you. Why the freak would you paralyze someone?! Over a girl at that: and oh, Joce, did I forget to mention? I got paralyzed today. 'Cause some hood with a mohawk went all psycho over Miss Fiesty I was telling you about." Jaxon rolled his eyes, just about reliving the horrible sensation, his hand automatically reaching to massage the back of his neck. "That was some crazy shit man."

He shook his head, sighing a bit before looking back at the girls. "Howweeveerrr... that happened a while ago. Right now... well damn. Where's Kelly man? He should be here to see you two like this. But ah.. it's okay. I've got a picture... and here, I'll take another one." Jaxon's grin returned to his face as he winked again at both the girls, leaning back on the court on his elbows, grinning at both the girls.

"Early Christmas present is right," Joce joked looking up at the cute small girl who somehow with her tumbling on her and Jax ended up with with the girl lying across Joce's chest. "For the record Honeydoll, only Wolverine and Stark call me Blue, but you can call me Jocelyn." She said with a laugh and brushed her hair out of her face, grinning at the girl as she looked up at her. "I usually throw a couple of lines before a girl ends up on top of me, but hey I can always adjust."

Helping the girl up to sit up, Jocelyn sat up and smiled at her giving her a quick once over. She was cute, not exactly Joce's type though. She liked women of mystery that exuded sex appeal and yet had the class and sophistication of a lady. In the end, Joce liked the 'lipstick' type as they were called over any other kind of girls. Still though, she made her laugh and Jax looked thoroughly amused and even happy to see her there.

"So you got into a fight over your 'eye catching' candy already? Wow Jax, this seems serious." A teasing tone was to her voice as she crossed her ankles in front of her, the little wings on her feet contorting to fit the position. "My, my when should I plan the wedding?" She said with a wink at the girl. "You better get used to fights around here loves, it's like a daily thing. If you don't witness a fight during the day, you're either sick or dead." Jocelyn tossed her hair and looked at the girl, concern falling on her face as she saw the busted lip, if only because she cringed at the times she got one herself. "Looks like you know firsthand what I'm talking about huh Curly?"

Now that she was right side up, Liv got a proper look at the girl that she had just been sitting on and her easy grin fell into a startled ‘O’. It was impossible to miss the little white wings attached to the girl’s ankles or the tapered point to her ears. Liv had just jumped on an Atlantean and for the first time all day she felt a shiver of genuine fear mixed in with her usual dose of cynical amusement. She had never seen one of the underwater warriors before but those blue badasses had caused Liv’s father, indeed had caused most law enforcers in New Jersey, quite a bit of trouble over a bunch of oil rigs off the shoreline a few years back. Namor had pretty much sent the drillers back to land with their collective tails between their legs and had made his point very, very clear.

Don’t f*ck with the Atlanteans.

Seeing one up close and personal… yeah, that seemed like it was probably pretty good advice. Drawing a finger over her injured lip, Liv winced as the slight pressure caused it to twinge. “Fight? Me? Never.” Liv offered the girl a smile, glancing at the Idiot who seemed perfectly at ease and unfazed. Figures. He’s probably just happy she’s half naked, the moron. “I just slipped in some stupid and landed in a big pile of crazy bitch. I would never get into a fight, would I Dumb Dumb?” She sent RAM an innocent face, eyes wide and smile sincere, but she couldn’t hold it longer than a moment and her usual wicked glint snuck into her whiskey lamps. “I’m Liv, by the way, and I only eat dolphin friendly tuna and I always recycle so… no watery vengeance, please. I’m allergic and it’s been a long day already.”

The smirk on her face widened at Liv's slightly nervous demeanor, but only because Joce thought it was adorable. "Well sweetheart, if you drive a Prius and don't eat meat, we'll get along just fine," she said with a straight face, trying to look as serious as possible and do that glare thing her Uncle Namor always did to her before she burst into laughter at the look on Liv's face. "Aw honey, you gotta loosen up around me if you wanna make it here. A Prius, psssh." She rolled her eyes and rolled back to lean against Jax again, winking at him and throwing a smirk at Liv. "I learned to drive in a '68 Firebird, a Prius, yea right!" She threw her head back and laughed again, glancing at Liv as her hand skimmed up Jax's arm, playing her flirtatious little game.

"Well, for landing in a pile of crazy bitch you still look pretty cute. If ya go to Doc, he'll take care of that so it's gone by tomorrow you know. He's awesome like that, tell him I sent you, he loves me," Joce said and cocked her head at the bird. "Got a little shadow do you? And I do mean little wow I've seen shrimps bigger than him, but to be fair it was the large kind." She laughed as the bird puffed it's feathers, looking rather offended. "Aw I didn't mean it! Cute little thing."

"You sure the bird didn't attack you? He looks like hes got a temper. Wait, I know!" She burst into giggles and looked at Jax. "She got into some hot and heavy stuff with someone and it got a little too hot and heavy. Yea you know how that goes," Joce teased with a giggle and without shame, giggling. "See Liv, I been trying to convince Jax here to let me have my way with him, but I think I'm a little too much for him to handle. You know being blue and gorgeous and all," she joked and blew him a kiss. "No I'm playing, see he won't get into anything with me cause some eye catchin' candy got him wound up really tight. See he even got into a fight over her!" Jocelyn pinched his cheeks mockingly and pursed her lips like she was talking to a baby. "Aww he'sh shooo cute!"

Jax had a completely and utterly ridiculed look on his face as Joce pulled his cheeks and pouted at him. Without thinking twice on it, he grabbed her legs from where he sat, and wrapped his arms around them tight, standing up in one swift move with the blue goddess flung over his shoulder. "What is it with you girls!? You just can't lay off me can you!?" he said, shaking his head and tutting with a mock disappointed look on his face as he started circling Liv with Joce over his shoulder. "I mean, that one there-" he swung Joce a little in Liv's direction in a manner that looked like both of them would drop any second, but he managed to keep his balance and pulled her back in, unable to hold back a smug smile sketching over on his face. "forced me to take my shirt off! and then came and jumped me in the Basketball court!"

He moved closer to Liv and nudged her back with his knee, grinning widely now as he moved past her with a slight wack at Liv's head using Joce's legs, although he had to admit, it was taking him some time to get used the the fluttery white things at her ankles. "And then this blue one here tries to come on to me right now!" his words were followed by a chain of soft chuckles as he spun around once with Joce still hangin' over his shoulder. He had to admit, this place was full of good looking chicks and he sure as hell wasn't gonna complain about a few of the good looking ones spending time with him once in a while.

"Honestly chikas! What kind of man do you think I am?!" he said, although he was laughing a little too much to make his tone sound serious. "If you're gonna chase after me, fight it out before hand. Two girls coming onto me at the same place one after the other is a little too much, even for my super awesome braaaaaaain.. ah OWWWWWWWWW my shoulder's starting to hurt already! You weigh like three tonnes chicka!" he shrieked playfully setting Joce back on her feet next to Liv with a grin. "Nah, you don't really. How the hell d'you have a figure like that and yet weigh as much as Doo Little's fluttery friend over there?!" he grinned over at the Sparrow, who'd helped Liv and Jax while they were in their training session with that weirdo Rabbit.

"Hmm... I wonder how much Doo Little weighs though?" and without wasting another second, Jax grabbed Liv's waist and had her up in his arms the way a Groom would when taking his Bride in. "Huh.. that's no shock. This one weighs as much as a twig." he mused, bouncing her up into the air a little just to try to scare her a little. "So, while I use you as my weight lift, you wanna tell me who you were getting all hot and heavy with? I got that total I'm too badass for men vibe from you Doo Little... guess not man." Jax shook his head at Liv, with his gigantic lazy grin stuck to his face. "Oh wait! It's Mohawk dude isn't it? I heard something in your voice when you said his name. N'awwwwhh. Dante and Liv- what d'you think Joce? Sound cute?" Jax winked at Joce, continuing to grin down at Liv. OK, so he hadn't actually heard anything, but he just couldn't resist the urge to tease Liv. She just looked so damn...teaseable.

“Oh, shut up!” Liv wiggled in Jax’s arms, her legs kicking in frustration as he pretended to toss her around. It was a new record. Zero to annoyed as hell in sixty seconds and Liv glared up at his lazy smirk, itching to knock it off his face and laugh at the same time. Ok, he was entertaining if nothing else, but Liv really didn’t want to be treated like a piece of produce getting grabbed and squeezed. She didn’t like being handled, period, let alone when she already felt like she was falling apart. Liv doubted Jax would let her fall on purpose, but she really didn’t call him ‘The Idiot’ for nothing. He might drop her just for a giggle and she wasn’t in the mood for another dose of pain just yet. Her muscles were sore, her arms were bruised and peppered with light ice burns, and her lip was puffy and split. If she had to add an achy ass to her list of problems Jax would find himself waking up totally bald and his entire wardrobe would be at the bottom of the lake. “I am not a toy, dude!” she laughed, trying to hide her amused smile behind a scowl. Liv smushed her friend’s face between her hands, demanding all of his attention as she stated slowly and carefully, “If you drop me I will knock that smirk off your face permanently, pretty boy. Dig me?”

Snickering, Liv looked over at Jocelyn and her eyes glinted playfully. The blue girl wasn’t nearly as scary as Liv would have guessed. For some reason she hadn’t thought that Atlanteans would have much of a sense of humor, but Jocelyn seemed just as devious as Liv herself and the little Paragon smirked, delighted. “So he’s got his eye on someone, huh? Poor girl. I hope she’s had all her shots.” The fact that Jax had gotten into it with Dante over some girl irked Liv and her eyes ghosted over Jax carefully, looking for bruises or marks. She liked Dante fine, but Jax was a friend… sort of. Thankfully, it seemed that the arrogant New Mutant had faired better in his fight than she did in hers, and Liv relaxed. “And quit fighting my team, Idiot.” Liv smacked him in the back of the head. “Paragons are bad ass and you… well, you’re just an ass.”

It was impossible for Jocelyn not to smile with these two, cause hell they were really funny and amusing. She already had a friend in Jax and she saw the potential for a friendship with Liv as well. "Look at Jax showing off what a big strong man he is, lifting us girls. God I feel so inferior now," she said with a mockingly helpless pout and laughed, patting her flat and slightly muscled stomach. "He just lifted all 168lbs of my big butt, and calls me light. She actually had a lot of fun the rest of the evening with the two of them. Their back and forth was just hilarious and despite Jocelyn's passively callous approach to people, she could see herself slowly warming up to the two of them. Jax was just plain out fun, and she got the feeling that like her, he had a lot underneath the image he presented of himself to everyone. Liv was the total opposite it seemed, 'what you see is what you get' was what she had going on about her. Nonetheless, it was hard to not like them.

It wasn't that Joce was a mean or unfriendly person. Hell she had a feeling that she'd know everyone in school by two days, but she had a thing about her where she kept people at arms length. It was a similar trait that some of the X-Men even shared as they lost so many over the years that they didn't want to get too close to anyone to lose more. Jocelyn had been at the school since she was a little girl, and she had lost more people than she cared to think about. At the current time, there were only a select few people that she let herself get close to, the closest of all of them and the one she could honestly say she loved was funny enough Shade. Reasons of this was only understood between the two of them, but it was something that Joce needed and depended on, and perhaps a crutch that allowed her to take the time to let others in as well.

It was Shade that was the motivating factor for Jocelyn to call it a night several hours later of the trio messing around on the basketball course. They all went their separate ways, Jax to his room and Liv to see a certain Headmistress about her room situation. Meanwhile, Jocelyn ran to her room only to grab her pajamas before heading right into Shade's room as she promised, looking forward to sleeping with a safe and peaceful feeling another night, one of many to come.
