Won't this be fun. Still it meant that for a while they wouldn't be going to the Danger Room. This gave her a chance to get in shape and not be completely useless when the real training started. Be thankful the first practice is something even you can't f*ck up. Besides she had to admit there was a certain logic to Colossus's choice. She figured Gavin was probably the Acolyte who disliked her most. And the feeling was mutual. His joining in with the Paragons to mock and humiliate her was not something she was going to forget easily. She figured she could get through the practice. Surviving an hour of quality time with Gavin every day would be a different thing altogether.
She looked over her shoulder at the other pairs of students coming together. She'd have been happy to have been paired with any of the others, except Diesel. She was terribly uncomfortable around him. But her only reason to be was that he was team captain. He'd never been mean to her the way Gavin had. Even Hardlight would be better. She'd been sure that Hardlight hated her after the incident at the pizza party. But today in French class he'd really helped her out and now she felt guilty for holding a grudge. Especially since she had sort of deserved it.
His joke about not running him into a pit did not help her mood. She countered his joking tone with her own acid one. "Very funny. I get it. You think I'm a f*ck up." She didn't like him or the smirk on his face. Tone it down, she told herself. Snapping at him is not going to help. "Ok. I'm going to walk in front of you. Let's try your following the sound of my voice." She walked to about five feet in front of him and faced him, her back to the hedge. She carefully looked over the ground for a few minutes to make sure there were no obstacles. "Ok, walk forward about six steps toward me. The ground's clear in front of you." She figured they could do about six steps at a time repeating until they got to the hedge. It wasn't the best plan in the world, but it would have to do. She just didn't have a better one.

Waving to Jocelyn and Ricki, Maddy made her way over to the tall rail thin kid with a smile on her face. " 'Ey dere Cher. Looks like we gonna be spendin' some time gettin' t'know each otha," Maddy said, her tongue clicking against the back of her teeth. "Ah turned sixteen a couple a'months back, yah gonna be seventeen soon or yah just turned sixteen?" It took some coaxing before she got him to nod that he had very recently turned sixteen. "A'righ' Cher, looks like yah get t'be the one t'lead me dere an' back first. Jus' dun lemme fall too hard," Maddy joked and tied the bandanna around her eyes, moving her short chin length hair to the side.
"Yah can call me Maddy yah know, Ah ain' gonna bite yah," she said and felt around, trying to balance herself. "A'righ', Carter righ'? Be mah eyes and ears Cher, cause Ah don fancy eatin' dirt afta' a large meal Ah had earlier." The kid seemed so shy and would barely look at her, so Maddy could only hope that she was at least helping him relax a little bit. She had done these team bonding activities with her team at home, so for the most part she was secure as to what she should expect in terms of activities. Her one hope was that he'd at least look at her for more than a second without turning away and blushing.

Waiting with bated breath for his name to be called off Hardlight's expressions lit up at each of the pairings, especially for UpStart since he was excited for him that his room mate would have such a pretty girl to be spending such time with, then came his own pair. Electric excitement blazed in his widening eyes as he looked across at Johnny. Oh my GOD he is BEAUTIFUL! OHhhhthankyouthankyouthankyouTHANKYOU Petey-man Thank YOU!!
Then he could only shake his head as the very next pair showed just what kind of a sense of humor Colossus really had and he had to bite back his giggles. That was going to be something to see, and Kevin was sure to stay way back and watch from the sidelines and he'd keep Johnny well away too if it looked like it was going to get nasty. He never understood the appeal of two girls fighting, but he hoped that his partner for the week wouldn't be turned on or anything weirdish or creepo by it.
It made sense to him then, the whole thing with getting to know each other. He didn't know how Legacy might react to something and if they were supposed to rely on one another it made a great deal of sense to spend the time getting to know that stuff. The partners too made sense since he doubted Johnny would have said two words to him otherwise since he was older and Gorgeous and Kevin was just a short little kid next to him, but oh boy he would love to be next to him all week and he was living for this team challenge.
He got up and walked around past the pile of bandannas, grabbing a delightful green and blue one, and walked up to stand before his guy for the week. "Hey, I'm Kevin. I'll be your guide for the evening." He grinned at his little joke and tilted his head to the side as he couldn't help but stare at the boy who he was so fortunate to have been placed with. "Um, so, what's your favorite color?" he asked and hoped to get a cute response as he lifted up the bandanna. "Cause I got us a blue and green one."
Kevin didn't talk with a lisp or anything overtly gay, he was just himself and he was finding himself quite happy right at that moment, much in contrast to how he had felt earlier. It must have had something to do with Johnny's eyes, or shoulders, or rough looking hands that he couldn't wait to feel when it was his turn to have the blindfold tied on by him, but really it was that he was not trying to be anything other than what he was. He was feeling a freedom in his heart and his mind and his spirit and silently to himself he thanked his Grams for the trick with the little red wagon.

Of all the rotten luck. Haven looked over at Splice as Ricki drug her up before she and Ian, and then before she could say anything to her guy.. ~poof~ ..he was gone. I swear, if this reject gets all stupid and she closed her eyes and shook her head at the thought of having to spend a week dealing with the loudmouthed and dripping retard juice and acting like she's on stage or some shit I will just.. Clenching and un-clenching her jaw she thought of what the Shaman had showed her, what he said the serenity she had felt in his presence.. and the story of the porcupine and the fox.
"Yeah...just my luck" Niki said in a grumble standing up. Her five foot six inches of pale skin, curves with attitude, full lips and hot blooded sensuality somehow looked far taller than she was. Her presence, built from a lifetime of relying on herself and cutting slack to not a single soul made her seem to tower over many lesser creatures. 'Ominous, intimidating, ruthless and mean.. nastiest bitch ever.. evil, cutthroat, dangerous', and don't forget 'slut-whore-terrorist' she had heard the whispers in the halls, in the lunchroom, heard them all and they all were right on the money. She was all those things and more, and in her icy cold, diamond hard stare her eyes held the pains of her life before her as both a shield and a spear.
There was something though that told her this blue moron was not going to bow down like all the Heather's, Lorelai's, Liv's and Veronika's of the world. This was going to be a tedious week of 'hanging out' and 'talking' to someone she really didn't even want to know. As far as she was concerned Jocelyn had already shown her who she was, just an attention whore who had a head full of flirty stupid bullshit with no idea how to shut up and be serious, and THAT Noemi Sanchez could do without. "For what it's worth I can't stand you already," she said in the calmest matter-of-fact manner as she considered hating Pete for lashing her to the effervescent bubble-head, "so don't make it any worse."

It took everything in Carter to focus on breathing at that moment. He couldn't believe that he was paired up with her, one of the prettiest girls he'd ever seen. Well she wasn't pretty the way that way where it was like classic good looks or the kind that you see in movies, but wow what gorgeous eyes and he fought his hardest not to stare at her. "Uh- um ok-kay Maddy," Carter said in a slight stutter as he took a deep breath.
He looked up into her pretty light green eyes and swallowed hard, his heart feeling like it would beat out of his chest at any second. "Um- okay just step forward, toward the sound of my v-voice," Carter began in a shaky breath as he lead her toward the hedge. "There's a rock about a step in front of you so j-just take a big step over it... Okay now your okay for the next couple of steps, but there is a small hole coming up I'll t-tell you when..." He walked backward carefully and checked the trail behind his as he walked so he could lead Maddy down the trail. "Okay here's the small hole... just step over it... okay good. Now just walk s-straight for now... you're okay..."
It took so much effort for Carter not to stutter and make his directions clear. He would hate it if such a pretty and sweet girl got hurt because of him. "Okay now you gotta be careful cause there are s-some rocks sticking out from the ground... Good okay, just keep following me." He really hoped his instructions were alright and she was keeping up, though they were almost at the hedge. It's okay, I'm doing good, I won't embarrass myself and she's so nice... FOCUS!

Great, I get the one with all ass and no class, and it ain't even the best piece of ass, was the first thing that Jocelyn thought, giving Pete a pointed look. Of all people... I'm gonna make sure he hears every little minuscule detail of my with the retarded albino who has worse people skills than Rumble. At least Rumble's got friends. She couldn't help but smile at Haven's words, finding it completely ridiculous. "Trust me when I say that I really, really don't care what you think of me," Joce said putting the blindfold over her eyes. "Since we're on mutual ground, we can get through this easily. I will join the ranks of all the others that have no intention of being friends with you, and we can spend that hour a day in silence and do homework or something. Then we'll get through it and stay out of each other's way. I think that works out don't you?"
Joce had a half smirk and half smile on her face when she tied the blindfold around her eyes. "I adore Petey and I respect him enough to get through this like he wants, but we both know that going further than his instructions isn't going to happen, so let's just get through this week, and then we'll only cross paths on an as needed basis. It's a win/win deal." She really had no use for nasty attitudes and crude, spoiled behavior, especially with all the other classy chicks around there that actually knew the feeling of walking around without a glass up their crotch, which is exactly what the albino chick constant expression reminded her of.
"You don't have me trip, and I won't have you trip, it'll all work out," Joce said cheerfully and tightened the blindfold. "Now lead the way, the sooner this is done, the sooner we can part and not deal with each other anymore." After growing up with the Hellions, the little attitude that Haven had meant nothing to her. Inflict was exactly the same and she adored him despite all that, the same for Rose and Rumble was just plain out scary but she never got on his bad side and intended to keep it that way. After growing up with the Hellions, no one really intimidated her, as next to them it was just laughable.

Johnny gave Kevin a half smile and took the bandanna closest to him- that being the blue one. "Thanks," he said quietly and brought the blindfold up to tie around his head. He had no idea what to expect, as he only met several of his team members, them being Romon, Jocelyn, Ricki, Ian, Gavin, and Maddy cause he ate dinner with them. The rest he didn't know all that well so he wasn't sure what to expect. No one really mentioned Kevin to him so he just shrugged and went with it, figuring he would try and make more of an effort to get to know people better.
With the blindfold tight over him, Johnny did his best to follow Kevin's instructions, finding that he only almost tripped in the beginning but caught himself on time. It was strange for him to follow instructions this way and he sort of saw the point of the activity being in the situation. He had to put all his trust into his partner and hope that he would lead him down a straight path and instruct him the right way. It was a strange experience where with the blindfold on, he felt a little helpless to his own safety. Johnny found himself being more aware of Kevin's voice and the environment as he walked under Kevin's instructions.
It was almost victorious when they made it to the hedge, where it felt like a huge sigh of relief for Johnny since that meant they were halfway done. "Well thanks for getting me through it the first time so smoothly," he said with a slight smile as he readied himself to head back. "Just hope I make it back as well as I got here." He was making a real attempt at being friendly and trying to participate in his new life like his Grandfather had made him promise to do once he was on his own.

Romon looked over at the redhead with glasses and smiled at her. She wasn't anywhere near as pretty as Veronika, but he had yet to see any girl other than Ana and Jocelyn that fit on that level. The new X-Men girl went above and beyond that, but that was a whole other level in general in Ian's mind. "Hello. My name is Romon. You are Ivy yes? Ricki introduced us earlier," he said with a smile and shook her gloved hand. When they got the age thing done, Romon grabbed the bandanna and tied it around his eyes, minding the dreads so they wouldn't get tangled up.
"Well this should be fun yes? I don't even mind if I fall I do that enough when I play soccer," he said with a laugh, trying to put the shy girl at ease. She was cute, though his eyes constantly trailed to Maddy or Jocelyn and would have loved to have been paired with either of them. It made him a bit bummed that Maddy got the skinny nervous kid and Jocelyn got that pale chick, but if what Colossus said was true, than he would get a chance to spend one on one time with all of them soon. "I am ready when you are, just lead the way," Romon said and began walking upon her instruction, stepping carefully to avoid any surprises.
So far he really liked his team, his eyes thrown by the gorgeous punk metal girl and a beyond stunning Atlantean he got to actually see. He had never thought that he would meet one in person, and one as beautiful and sweet as her was just a blessing. Romon hoped that his team here would end up being as close as his soccer team back home. They were all best friends and until they all found out that he was a mutant, things were really great. They all hung out together, did almost everything together. He miss that feeling, and hoped it could be achieved again here.

"That's the first thing you said that I can agree with." Maybe she ain't as dumb as I thought.. no talking is perfect, cause I swear if she does that little ass kissing the teacher trick again I'm gonna puke. "You ready?" She waited for the tall thing to stop fidgeting with the blindfold and then she ordered her forward with a flat command of "Walk."
Haven felt it was cheating to have someone follow a voice so she stayed behind Jocelyn, but off to the side a bit so she could see what was in front of the girl. "Keep going, keep going.. straight...straight..two o'clock.. ten o'clock..ten o'clock..two o'clock" telling her how to turn by the face of a clock to maneuver her around a tree and back on course, continuing on in that manner. She half considered walking her into that tree or having her trip in a rut in the ground but she didn't want to deal with the hassle of anything else to do with this girl so she just went by the rules and finished the task at hand.
"Good. Well would you look at that.." Niki said slightly surprised yet altogether sarcastic "you actually can do as you're told." She reached up and carefully undid the knot Spice had tied, freeing the Atlantean's eyes to scan the darkening surroundings with her exceptional night vision. "Too bad when it's left up to you ya act like a totally embarrassing asshole. What's up with that?"
She tied the friggin thing around her face and made sure she couldn't see a goddamn thing, knowing that if Jocelyn did anything cute or stupid she wouldn't hesitate to stomp her ass in the dirt. Oh shit- I just asked her a question. Fuuuuggah, now she's gonna talk again and her voice ... oh it grates on my nerves. Blah blah - nobody wants to be your friend- Blah blah oh Peeeetey blah I adore him blah-YUCK! Under the blindfold Haven rolled her eyes in anticipation of the diarrhea of words that would surely flow now. I'm no quitter but this whole thing is stupid. Well, shit if she gives me a reason to I'm just walkin and blaming it on her. If Pete wants to be a prick about Danger Room training that's on him.
The sounds of the approaching night and the dark of the blindfold reminded her again of her time with the Brotherhood. Intense and never ending, though it was little more than a month, even in her sleep she felt she got no rest from the training.. and that smell of him. She shuddered. She felt it rising in her, a burning rage, as she half hoped Splice would start some shit with her. She really wanted to hit something.
All the crap with Rumble and Sabretooth, it was really eating her up inside. She was doing her best not to show it but she was deeply bothered by it, and bothered even more to know it was being put on her friend Aideen so intensely. She just had that anxiety crawling up her spine making her even more antsy and agitated than usual. Maybe she didn't hate Splice as much as she was thinking, maybe it was rage she was transferring to her blue team mate, but whatever it might have been Niki didn't know, all she knew was she was itching for a fight.

Ian had to laugh, part of him seriously relieved right then that he wasn't the one paired up with Katana. "We'll do good Ricki babe. And we'll switch off each day on what we can do and stuff for the hour we hang out. You can choose for tomorrow. Sound good babe?" He grinned at her and reached out to ruffle hair hair before she could protest. He really liked Ricki, she was like a little sister, and since Torri left she had really come out of her shell and he was actually really happy that her and Jocelyn were roommates. She was the perfect person to bring Ricki out of her shell and she was just a blast to have around.
"Alright babe, I may have a healing factor, but let's not have me run into a tree." he said tying the blindfold around him and making sure he couldn't see. Ian didn't spend as much time with Ricki as he would have liked. She was a cool chick, and he worried about her on his own sometimes. It was a chance for him to get closer to her and to learn more about her, so he had nothing to complain about. Ian just hoped that his girl would give it a rest with whatever issue she had with Jocelyn, cause he knew Colossus was talking about her in some parts of the stuff he said. Really Ian didn't get how someone couldn't like her. She was fun and outgoing, and hell she was one of those chicks that he used to party with all the time back at home, and she was a great reminder of his home in a way. He thought if Niki would give her a chance she'd like her, but he just didn't see her doing that anyways.
A part of Ian prayed that Gavin wouldn't go too crazy on Katana. He wasn't a fan of her either, especially how he really liked Veronika and Katana had just always been a total bitch to her for no reason. Hopefully Gavin's friendly nature would be enough to keep Katana settled, and Gavin who was even closer to Veronika and the Paragons would keep his own cool. Ian for one was happy that Romon was with Ivy for the week. He was such an awesome and chill guy that he could see him bringing Ivy out of her shell and helping her not be so timid of people. Maddy and the shy new kid Carter were a good choice too, since that kid looked like he was gonna freeze up and fall over whenever a girl spoke to him. Maddy would loosen him up, if Niki liked her than that meant that anyone would.
As for Kevin and Johnny, the kid seemed quiet and Ian recognized that there was a lot of pain to him. After being at this school for awhile it wasn't hard to spot in someone. He didn't think that Kevin could help him in that regards but at least get the guy talking or talk him to death, whatever came first. "Okay babe, we're doing good so- OOF!" Ian stumbled slightly but caught himself on time before he fell. "C'mon babe you're my eyes out there gimme something," he said with a laugh and followed her directions.

Despite how sweet Romon was being, Ivy could only really give him a shy smile and small nod in return. She knew she was probably one of the last people that he wanted to be stuck with, especially with all the pretty girls on the team. She didn't have a body anywhere near as great as their's, with her chubby thighs and her small squishy potbelly. It was much easier to hide a heavier figure in her baggy sweatshirts, but these uniforms showed every crevice and bulge that she had. It was why Ivy hated the uniforms that left nothing to hide. It worked for the girls that had the amazing bodies that could fill it out, but she didn't have any of that. Wearing it only made her feel like an ugly fat slob next to the girls she was surrounded by.
"Don't worry, I won't let you fall," Ivy said timidly and attempted a small smile. "Just follow my voice and my directions." She walked beside him and stared at the ground. "Okay, you're alright for about five regular steps... now carefully widen you step because that's where the moss covered rock is. Good!" She was happy that she managed to at least keep him from falling on his face. It felt oddly powerful for her to have someone totally dependent on her to help them, and she found that she liked being needed.
"Okay um, your okay for about 4 more steps, than the ground drops a little... NOW! Sorry I didn't mean to yell I just didn't want you to trip." Ivy blushed as the got to the start of the hedge. "Good! We made it to the hedge. Now all we have to do is make it back!" Ivy had to walk carefully next to him since it was pretty dark now and it made seeing the ground that much harder. "Okay you're good now just walk straight... good now stop here and take a big step over that little hole..." She kept at it until they got back. Ivy managed to smile at him shyly, tucking a stray hair from her ponytail behind her ear and pushing her glasses up her nose. "That was a lot harder than it sounded. I'm glad you didn't fall," she said shyly and took off her glasses to put on the bandanna over her eyes.

"I guess that depends on your definition of embarrassing, we all have different ones. Take a big step, rock is right in front of you," Jocelyn said in a light tone, rolling her eyes at the attitude. This little girl was just acting, well bratty. It was hard for her to take offense when someone was acting like a bitter brat. She had no interest in conversation, and no interest into feeding into her little power trip and cry for attention. She had to deal with girls that had the same attitude in Atlantis, who thought they were tough shit because they were training to be Champions since they were old enough to swim on their own, as their mother's have been Champions too. Really Jocelyn just pitied them kind of the same way that she pitied the girl she was with now. People obviously didn't care for her since she had yet to hear anything good about her except from Ian, and just from how she sat off on the side at lunch while everyone had large groups of her friends said plenty to Jocelyn.
"Veer to the left... now to the right. Get ready to take a step up right about... now." Jocelyn instructed blindly since she saw as well in the dark as she did in the day. It was interesting how contrasting their behaviors were, as Jocelyn liked to surround herself with people and feel the comfort that came with laughter and jokes and warmth. Granted, it was much harder for someone to get close to her heart. After losing so many people from her time at Xavier's, she had a problem similar to that of many of the X-Men where she closed her heart off to new people and kept new people at arms length, if only for the possibility that if she lost them it wouldn't hurt as much as all the other times. "Step left... now just go straight."
There were some people that still got to see her heart, and Jocelyn clung to them with everything she had. She was practically raised by the X-Men, Pete and Kurt were the ones who taught her how to ride a bike, and Scott was the one that would go with her to all the museums when she was little and taught her early on to never touch guns or weapons without their permission, shielding her from the dangers as much as he could. Kitty was like a big sister to her and Jean and Ororo were there for her when she was is despair about being a late bloomer, and it was talking to 'Ro that helped her figure out that she was a Lesbian. Because she was just a bundle of nonstop energy as a child and was known to drive a lot of the X-Men up the wall, Wolverine would grab her and let her go crazy flying around the danger room in some course he set up just for her so it could tire her out a little. When Emma came to the school, Jocelyn was probably the first to accept her and attach herself to her. It was Emma that taught Jocelyn how to be more of a girl and less like a tomboy. She taught her how to walk in heels and put on makeup and how to dance with that grace that was only present in the women with class.
In addition to the X-Men, Jocelyn had Kelly and Shade, whom she loved with all her heart. Shade and her had a special relationship, but in Jocelyn's mind they always had a special relationship in a way. It was unique and not understood by anyone but the two of them, but she knew they were a rock to each other. Kelly was her big goofy friend, who taught her how to roll a perfect blunt and how to play the craziest tricks on people. Meanwhile Tracy was hands down her female best friend, and one that kept her from running completely wild when they were younger. They were both good for each other, Jocelyn's power helping Tracy's confidence in herself and Tracy helping rear the hyperactive Jocelyn in and had her learn to keep focus. Those were people that Jocelyn loved and would do anything for, and right now she wasn't ready to make room for more in her jaded heart.
"There! We're done, and all went smooth!" she exclaimed when they got to the logs after all her directions. It was child's play with her night vision and she just wanted to get it over with so she didn't have to be in her presence. "Later." Jocelyn waved absently and went over to Pete, beaming up at him with an expression reserved just for those that had a place in her heart. "Hiya Petey!" She stood next to him looking up at him so he could keep an eye on the others. "I missed ya Pete, did you get those crazy gardening tools? My Granna said that they work well with surface plants, but I couldn't figure out how to work them for anything. I hope you have better luck than me." She giggled, remembering how she tried to figure them out that ended in an epic fail.

Niki peeled the blindfold from her face just in time to catch the little wave that Jocelyn flipped her. " Yeah whatever- I'm outta here." She sneered letting the bandanna drop from her hand as she walked to the edge of the log circle and stepped a foot out of the ring. Something stopped her then, as she was intent on leaving and just getting the hell away to find some air she could breathe that wasn't polluted with disdain.
Looking back at them all, her team, the friends she was just now starting to allow into her heart. She'd even made a meal for them all just the night before and she couldn't follow through and be with them. She bled in Limbo for their sake and threw away who she was to be with them and return for a chance at something better. She had run away and returned only to pay the penalty for her mistakes, her stubborn vengeance ruled her for so long and yet her will to break that cycle was what Mato had spoke of to her. It was he who showed her the way back to her true self but it was she herself who had made the choice and the journey all on her own to reclaim her life.
Yet there she stood, ready to throw it all away again.. but this time a tiny bell went off.
She looked closer at the scene. Her team mates in pairs and the girl who she was currently holding the most venom for standing talking to HER friend and Leader. She was new, she hadn't bled with them as Niki had in some other dimension, she hadn't served her time in hell along with Ian and Kevin and Aideen and even Lorelai. None of them had.
All the punishment she had endured for a chance to be there now and she couldn't swallow just a little bit more? Would it literally kill her to be nice? ..to set her pride aside for a single moment and accept a few realities that she couldn't change? ..or by force of will make irrelevant? Why not be the mother of the team, the figure that they all needed, that they all seemed to her eyes to want her to be or at the least the figure that she knew she could be for them? She'd taken care of kids in the foster homes she'd lived in and even other working girls on the streets, she had the maturity and the self reliance. Yet, the distance from her team had only been growing further, she could feel it. They didn't seem to understand her or why she didn't want them close in the same way. It occurred to her that it must've been such an odd mystery to them.
She had lived too much too soon in her young life and she had become so hardened and jaded that to smile in a crowd would split her stone faced scowl jagged with a resounding crack. The foster homes, molesting figures of authority, the streets had all shaped her, made her what she was, drained the joy from her heart in so profound a way that only those who withstood her tests were of any merit. Yet the test were made to break all they were put to, all those she deemed worthless enough to be tested, once broken, stood no chance of becoming anything other than cobbled stones beneath her feat to be tread upon daily.
"NO! You don't get to dismiss me with a wave of your hand." She said stepping back into the ring, back into the world of the team to stake her claim on her own life. "And Pete I resent what ya did here tonight. I know you want us all on level turf but you did me dirty! I paid for my place here- You KNOW I have."
The look in her eye as she walked up to have a word with her team leader and the girl who was driving a wedge between her and her own team showed the pain and the hardship she had to endure. "Emma and Scott put me through it and you Know I had to earn my place here. All of them?" She pointed a finger around and brought it back to stab toward Jocelyn last. "They just show up and I have to accept them without question? Accept HER?" She pointed at Jocelyn again, her finger trembling with anger.
"And this one. This one here, pulling everybody away from me? I'm just startin to feel like- like.. Just NO! This can't stand! This just can't stand! You did me wrong tonight BOTH of you, you don't know me- you got no idea who I am and what I had to do to be an Acolyte" she snapped the words, staccato and sharp at Splice "and you think you can tell me people don't want to be my friend? I got friends here chika, you gotta have balls that clang to say some shit like that to me, after all I endured here? For friendship? For a place on this team, MY team- Eat ASS Bitch! What have you done for your place here?"

"Haven stop please," Piotr said to his team member in a stern voice that though he didn't us it often, when he did he was not playing around. "This is exactly why I stated there is no longer a hierarchy on this team or value on seniority. Today is a day we start fresh without any sort of pretenses toward the other, in where everyone works to prove themselves to each other and on equal ground." He was set on how this team was to work from now on, and he refused to incorporate any sort of gang mentality into it. "Haven, you did a lot of work to get to where you are now, but that work as a result of breaking the trust you have initially been given upon coming to the school. No one is trying to make lesser of your accomplishment, but those were trials thats you had to face not just for the team, but for yourself. You broke the trust of many, and the fact that you slowly but surely are earning it back is something that I am very proud of you for and I hope you are just as proud of yourself."
"However, the fact remains that all that work you had to do to prove yourself was because you turned your back on everyone to begin with. It is highly unfair and unjust to expect the same hard work from other students who arrived and respect this school for the safe haven it is without bending the trust placed in them by others to do the same amount of work that you had to do. This is not the military, it is not a gang. The fact that they came here, with the need of a place to feel safe and call home should be enough, for as you know that step is possibly the hardest first step to take," he paused for a moment, staring at his tenacious team member that had a lot of heart buried under her hostility. "I wanted you and Jocelyn to start off this week because she's been at the school since she was a little girl. She's made the most of this school as a sanctuary that shielded her from the disdain that people felt not just for her being an Atlantean but also a mutant. She had been through so much just by living here and she never took the love that she found here for granted. I hoped that maybe she could show you the benefits of opening yourself up to people here, and that you may be able to show her that life throws funny things at us from every corner and that a bad experience should not cancel that out."
Piotr smiled at Jocelyn and patted her hand. He remembered when she first left for Atlantis and how sad and heartbroken she had been over losing Jean Grey and some of the students in that attack. He knew she wasn't whole again, but he knew that with the right help, she could be. "You had earned your place here Haven, because you initially abandoned it. Now that's all in the past, but as you prefer facts being laid out that is exactly what I'm doing for you. Yes you worked harder than anyone else to be on the Acolytes, but that was because of your own doing. I cannot and will not allow anyone who came here for a sanctuary from the cruelness of the outside world to have to struggle to be accepted within people that came here for the same reason," he said it in a firm voice, looking at all the students that stopped to listen.
"Now with that's said, the two of you will continue to be partners until you can overcome your differences. There are plenty of new people on this team, and while Haven you earned the respect of many of your peers, that gives you no more right to be on this team and at this school than anyone else who came here for the same reason as all of us: a place to feel safe, and a place to call home. This school," Piotr gestured to the enormous mansion in front of it. "Is a place for all mutants to come in and have a place where they will be accepted and not turned out and forced to struggle for a place within it just as they have to outside of the school. There is nobody here that doesn't want to be here, and whether they've been here for years, for months, or just a couple of days, they all deserve equal respect. Just coming to this school is a large step, as it comes with dangers as well as rewards. In the end we are all here for the same reason, and that should be enough to unite us as a strong team. Because in the end, that unity is what will give us the strength we need to prevail in any obstacle we may face."
He knew that it would be some time before all the team members earned not just each other's trust and respect, but their friendship as well. He needed to stick it out though, because they needed him to keep pushing them. "Are we clear on that? Because in this case I will not allow it to be argued and I will not tolerate bullying of any kind based on your rank and length of time spent at this school." He looked not just at Haven and Splice but also at all those who stopped to watch what was going on.

"I'm sorry I'm sorry! C'mon Ian- we're nearly there, just a few more steps to your rightt aaand one big step lef-" Ricki cut off in mid sentance, while giggling at Ian considering she'd missed the fact that there was a stick on the ground and nearly 'caused Ian to fall, but her giggles were cut short too, because Niki's voice had 'caused a good enough distraction for Ricki. "... uh oh." Ricki's eyes widened as she looked over her shoulder, in the rough direction of where Niki's voice, followed by Pete's collected voice had come from. In all fairness, Ricki did believe that Niki was slightly in the wrong here, considering that she doubted Joce'd really given her a reason to go off at her like that.
Ricki knew Niki was a little sensitive when it came to her place in the team, but whatever it was that Niki was yelling at Joce for, it certainly wasn't something Joce deserved. It wasn't in Ricki to take sides, but she couldn't help but feel a little more sympathy towards Joce in this situation- however, she'd noticed that Niki hadn't really been her happiest since the beginning of the Practice. It seemed like something unpleasant was bugging her, and the way Ricki saw it, Joce was just getting the heat for something she hadn't done- which wasn't one bit fair, but no one could entirely blame Niki. After all, she was only human: there was only so long someone could hold something inside them. Not that what Niki'd done was right, or justified in any manner, but Ricki wasn't one to be completely unsympathetic towards someone.
"Uhh... just take one step left and we've completed half the task." Ricki whispered, taking the Bandana off Ian. "I think you should go talk to Niki," she whispered, exchanging a worried look with him. "You're the only one who she'd probably listen to and I think we've established that we don't have trust issues with one another in plenty of previous Danger Room sessions and Team Practices." Ricki gave Ian a nervous smile, unable to mask her concern for Niki at all. Even though Ricki wasn't the closest person in the world to Niki, she still cared about her team-mate, and by the sound of things, it seemed like Niki would need someone to calm her down, and that someone was most probably going to be Ian.
