It was a wonderful day according to Brock Van Alstyne. Sure there were clouds in the sky and rain would soon fall upon them, but for him it could not have been a better day. It had been a long time since his mood was so bright, so good in fact that he had not thought it possible, but yet here he was, smug smile on his face and feeling like several million dollars, though with his family's estate he was selling himself extremely short.
With a small encounter with the elusive Emma Frost earlier, Brock informed her of his plans for a shopping excavation in Manhattan. He had recently done some remodeling in the penthouse apartment in SoHo and had some new items to purchase to make his home complete. With the latest state of the art design and security system to defend against every threat possible, he was quite proud of the design. One could not say he wasn’t dressed for the celebration in his mind, sharp Giorgio Armani suit, his best and most expensive cologne made him look as sharp and as high class as one from a family as wealthy and famed as his own should look.
There were several stops to be made before came time to come to his apartment. He thought of getting flowers, perhaps some roses to make the place more welcoming before he went out for his other errands. Nonetheless, it would be a rather satisfying day for Brock Van Alstyne, a day that would not be spent anywhere close to the school of trash and low class with only several gems in the pile. No, his day consisted of more important business, like buying silk sheets and having the man he hired through Stark Industries do the final touches to his apartment to ensure security at its highest level. With items as expensive and valuable as those that Brock had stored there, money could never be wasted on security.
The stroll to the garage was so pleasant, that he even waved in a mockingly pleasant manner to Rictus and the little cowboy as he took the opened the door to his Ferrari. The new car smell from the Italian leather seats was still very potent as he climbed in, humming Beethoven’s ‘Moonlight Sonata’ as he turned the car on, Mozart’s Ninth Symphony playing from the crystal clear state of the art speakers. He pulled out of the driveway and sped down the dirt road in the opposite direction of town with a smile on his face as he decided to take the more scenic route to the city. Today was to be a good day in deed, a perfect day for some errands and shopping.
