Lucy stared at the big school as the exhaust from her brothers car billowed out from behind her. She clung to her teddy bear and held one of her three big bags from home. Though her brother had driven off so fast, he cared a lot about her and made sure she had everything she would need when they left their big house in South Carolina, including a suitcase full of art supplies. Jude was such a good brother to her and she could not have been more lucky to have him as one.
Since their mother died he had been particularly like a father rather than a brother, spending little time with his friends and most of his time with her, that was until a year ago when he stopped speaking and now he only spent time with her. He wasn't too happy though when she was accepted into the academy. She didn't really understand why though he did seem to love her mutant power to make moving art, even though it was why they were now separating.
"It's so big" she said to herself her big blue eyes wide with admiration. Her small petite frame seeming completely insignificant to it. She pulled a tiny piece of paper from the pocket of her dress. She stared at the small figure on it, scribbled with crayon, slight stains of peanut butter and jelly on it. A little dragon was not easily visible but it was there. "Do you think they'll be nice here?" she asked the little dragon. Its eyes blinked at her as if to show her that it heard her speak. "I'm a little scared" she said pulling the bear to her face. "Really scared" she said her eyes watering slightly. "But I'll be strong, for you and big brother" she added with a big grin folding the page back up and putting it into her dress pocket.
