Hank had come in contact with Emma earlier on as he went to his lab to look over some files. He couldn't believe when she told him that Scott had taken young Aideen out to look for Logan. He learned from her how the adolescent was perhaps the last to see him before he disappeared. The poor girl, not only did she lose what I gather was her only companion in this school, she knew all along and kept silent. She must have gone mad with grief. Hopefully they made some progress finding something of Logan's whereabouts, Hank said in his head as he watched the pair land.
When it was safe to come closer, Hank walked up to them with a solemn look on his face. "Good evening Scott, Aideen. How was your expedition?" he asked in an even voice, almost fearing the answer for the sake of the young girl.

Cyclops pulled off his helmet and replaced his ruby quarts glasses before he responded to Beast. He unzipped the pocket and pulled out the chunk of black glass-like substance. "It was rough, Hank. I regret taking her, but I need you to take a look at this stuff. It was the crust of some huge scoop taken from the landscape. Like a giant ice-cream scoop melted it's way through the cliff and the ground and everything. It looks weird inside like it's alive and it feels warm. If it's radiation we were both exposed so let's scan us both too, but do this thing first if you can. I'm pretty sure it's a hint to what happened out there. Wolverine's..."
Scott paused and brushed the hair from his forehead "...his, uh, his trail went along and right up to this stuff. I think It looked like a blast crater- maybe from Magneto's bombs so Nightcrawler ..." Scott pulled his gloves off and threw them one at a time into his helmet "...it might tell us about Kurt too."
"Ember, you alright?" Scott said just looking back and noticing her expression 'Damn it! Scott you dumb asshole - why didn't you listen to Emma!' his mind screamed as he saw the blankness in her eyes.

Aideen took off her helmet, thinking how nice it fitted her head. Perfect fit, she got it from Stones when they picked it up from the underground dealership. Cyclops was explaining to Beast about their ride outside and showing him the shiny lava lamp like piece from the big scoop thing at the bottom of the cliff. She took off her bandanna and shook her thick loose hair out of her face. When Cyclops addressed her she looked up at him with her large dark eyes. "Yes sir, perfectly fine sir," she said in an odd quiet voice. It wasn't distressed nor sorrowful or happy or anything really. It was just an extremely neutral with no emotion. Just blank
Aideen looked over at the sky-cycle and ran her gloved hand over the seat that Cyclops was sitting on. "It's a very interesting bike. Never seen one like it, thank you for the ride," she said in the same odd voice. It was a nice bike. She wondered how fast it could go. Maybe as fast as some of the machines they had at that military base. Aideen then remembered that she had left her hair-clip there.

Hank took the piece of rock and studied it carefully. Hmm... this is certainly new. The heat emanating from it is unnaturally warm. Why Scott is right! Whatever is inside is in motion! Curious, very curious indeed... he thought as he examined the rock very carefully in his over-sized furry hands holding it gingerly.
When he looked up from the rock to answer Scott, for the first time in awhile, Hank was startled by what he saw when Aideen took off her helmet. She had a look that was... well emotionless. The look of someone who no longer had anything left. She was paler than usual and looked thinner than she did yesterday, but then again her body functions are quite complex according to his medical file on her since her average body temperature was 108 degrees. She must have missed a meal.
Hank looked at the young girl for a moment before exchanging a worried look with Scott. He cleared his throat as he held up the rock like fragment. "This intrigues me. Certainly unlike anything I have ever seen. I would like to take a closer look at it in my lab. Perhaps I can learn of it's origin. Would you both be in favor of joining me?" Hank asked his colleague and student.

"Yeah Hank, let's go Aideen." Cyclops said, he rarely called any of the students by the names their parents had given them. When he did, it was usually because there was a need to connect with them on a level that he was usually too uncomfortable to even try to connect on.
He stepped off of the Sky-Cycle and took her by the elbow to walk her down the hall. "Hank, we saw more than we probably should have out there." he looked over at Aideen when he said 'we' so that Hank knew he was speaking about the young girl. "Maybe something to settle our nerves. Uh, like some 'tea'?" he meant a sedative for Aideen, if she needed it, he hoped Hank got what he was hinting at.
(Beast would you start a thread in your lab...the genetics-lab, please)
