Karma had a wide smile on her face as she walked into the Rec. Room, for now, it was vacant and she intended to use it for a small gathering with her team. Already knowing Jenny, she realised that there was another member of her team which she had not met yet, and this was an opportune moment for the two girls to bond and grow to know both themseves and each other, both with their abilities and as friends. In her hand she carried a bag full of things which she hoped could help the girls bond. Paper and pens primarily for Lucy, but for Jenny to share, a small flower in a pot for Jenny, glitter, books, and a small crispy cake for each of them for a small snack. She did love her team dearly, and was very pleased to be in charge of the younger group, as, she herself was not too willing to take on a group involving teenagers coming to terms with their powers.
It made her laugh a little at the thought of her trying to control some of the sutdents who were already attending, the ammount of damage those kids could do with so little effort was a partially bad joke to some, but it gave Karma a small moment of amusment. Still, she was rather more happy with her own team. She had sent both her girls a message to meet her here, and she expected them soon. Just after she had set up. She would need to talk to these girls, get them to talk to her about what they thought about their powers. And what they wanted to do with them at the moment. As, they were still too young to be in combat with the other teenagers, but they should still be able to experiment with what they were gifted with.
"This should be good, these girls will enjoy this i think." She said aloud to herself as she set about clearing a table for them and setting the bag on it to prepare the area. Getting a few chairs over and sitting them around the table, she unpacked the bag, bringing out the multiple sheets of paper and pens, the rainbow of colours brightening up the large wooden table already with their array of colours, some neon, or metalic colours too, just in case they would be pernickity about their drawings. Then, out came the small potted plant for Jenny, a little poppy plant with the plant just sprouting. Then, out came the small pots of glitter and a few small books she herself ad picked out. Just in case they were a little bit too bored with her.

Jenny ran downstairs bundled in a light blue jumpsuit and her hair in two messy pigtails. Her mommy always used to do them for her and without her it was a bit harder for her to get used to. In her hand was a small yellow stuffed bunny, who Jenny named Roger. She had him since she was born and never went anywhere without him. He usually stayed in her pocket though, on the count that he was shy around new people. But Jenny told him that Karma was real nice and that there was no need to be shy, so she brought him out just to show him its ok.
Jenny squealed in delight when she saw Karma and ran up to her with Roger in her hand to fling her small pudgy arms around her caretaker. "Karma! Hi Karma look look I brought Roger out this time!" She said enthusiastically as she hugged Karma and showed her the small raggedy bunny. Jenny looked over at the table of arts and crafts and the small plant that Karma must have set up. She is so nice. My mommy would like her. I like her better than old Mrs. Jars who watched me when mommy and daddy went to town. She is nice and all, but spooling yarn and The Price is Right gets boring. Jenny thought as she looked at the table excitedly. "Is this for us Karma? What are we gonna do today? Are we gonna help with something?" she asked her caretaker excitedly bouncing from one foot to the other.

Hearing the excited squeal of her little charge, Karma turned from the table with a grin. The little girl always made her feel like her post as head of the [shadow=black,left,300]'Alpha Squadron'[/shadow] worth while. With her cheery disposition it made the room almost glow with joy and brighten the place around her. "Hello Jenny, How are you today?" she asked with a grin as she bent down to the girls height and returned the embrace. At the mention of her toy friend Roger, Karma grinned, if possible, even wider. "And hello Roger, i don't believe we have met, My name is Karma." she greeted with a slight chuckle, leaning back and holding out her hand gently as if to shake hands with the small rabbit.
As the joyeous little girl exclaimed her excited thoughts of the afternoon, a slight sparkle could be seen in her eye. She did hope that the girls would enjoy the 'meeting' but was wary, after all, who was she to tell what her girls would enjoy doing for a whole afternoon. Slowly, she stood up again and let out a small soft laugh. "Yes, today, we are going to have a little talk, and have some fun together. That means that we must first wait for our other team mate. Lucy." she said with a softer smile as she walked back over to the table. Taking the bag from it and making sure everything was out, she placed it on the floor next to her chair, ready to use it for any rubbish that would need cleared away afterwards.

Jenny bounced over next to Karma and sat Roger down on an empty chair and made sure that he didn't slouch. Mommy says that slouching is never alright, tells me that as much as I love Quasimodo I shouldn't want to look like him. "Roger says Hi, he's just really really shy. I convinced him today to come out of my pocket," she said gravely before she sat down next to Karma's chair and reached for the small potted flower. "Who's this little one? Oh she is so pretty. Is she gonna live outside with the other flowers I made alive in the winter? I don't think this one will like the winter as much as the others did," Jenny said as she gently stroked their petals with her pudgy fingers and her blue eyes went wide as the petals grew larger and more vibrant in color.
"Wow, look at that Karma, this little one is real healthy. And look at the pretty red! Have you ever seen red be this red before?" Jenny asked as she watched the plant grow delicately with awe. "It's the reddest red I ever saw." She looked up at Karma and gave her a toothy smile. "Just wait till spring comes Karma, I'm gonna let her go outside and make friends with the other flowers and plants. We are going to plant flowers right Karma? You think I'll be allowed to? Maybe the new girl will help me. I thought I was the only one on this team," she said with wide eyes. Jenny was used to having Karma all to herself and wasn't sure how she would feel sharing her with someone else. Mommy always said that I should be open to making new friends, 'specially cause she thinks I like flowers and animals more than people which Mommy doesn't think is normal. Oh maybe she'll help me find some wildflowers with Karma!

Karma let out a small soft laugh as she watched Jenny reach for the potted flower, knowing she loved plants and, with her power had the ability to help the grow, she knew it would be something she enjoyed. But it did suprise her that with only a small stroke of the petals did they grow so vibrant in colour so quick. It was impressive, and, with the knowlege that her little charge had helped the flowers in winter, wondered if her friend Colossus might let Jenny and her help him with maintaining the garden with him. Goodness knows the little girl would be a massive help. Returning her thoughts back to the present and looking down at her innocent smiling face, Karma nodded slowly. "Of course she is! I just thought you might want to help her grow a little before she went outside, because then she wont feel as different." She commented with a slight chuckle. "And i was just thinking that Jenny, i might ask Colossus if he might let us help him in the garden. Do you think that would be fun?" she asked softly, in slight awe at the girls innocence toward the world, and hoping to just make flowers grow.
At the thought of their new team mate, Karma put a gentle hand on Jenny's shoulder, smiling down at her softly. She imagined that it might be a little different for her as she would have to share everything as well as make friends, but she knew well that her little charge would be fine in making Lucy feel welcome. After all, not many people would be able to not like her. "Well, She is a new member of our group, and it means that you have another girl your age to play with as well. As i'm sure she would be very willing to make friends and help with the gardening. But remember, she might be shy like Roger. She's not been here for very long, and we'll be some of the first people she meets, so it is very important that we make her feel welcome. Alright?" she said softly, still giving the girl a small smile, before sitting back up and looking toward the door. She didn't want to start anything before the girls arrived, in case she felt left out, but, she wondered if Jenny would be as patient as her.

Jenny set down the little potted plant gently on the desk and looked at Karma with wide eyes. "Colossus? Is he that real big guy that I met on Christmas with that Kitty lady? She's has a real neat name. He's the gardener here? I never thought he would be someone who likes trees and flowers. Hey that would be fun! He's tall enough to be able to take care of the bigger plants and he can probably pull weeds very easily. Back at home in the little garden patch momma set up for me, I would be pulling at those weeds for hours and it would make my hands all red and scratchy. Momma said its cause my hands are too small for the special gloves you need for gardening," Jenny said solemnly before she sat back and took Roger to hold him in her lap.
She looked at him for a moment and then looked back up at Karma. "Karma, is everyone still really sad like they were the other day when we were all down in the room with the big plane. Is that what you wanted to talk about? I don't like it that everyone is still so sad," she said as she adjusted Roger in her lap. "I know that people have been talking about it. And you know last night I heard the strangest thing. It was way past my bedtime and I was sleeping and I saw heard this real loud noise and from the window it looked like some flying thing from The Jetsons. What's going on Karma?" Jenny asked with her wide curious blue eyes.

Karma gave a soft laugh and nodded gently toward Jenny. "He's not the officla gardener, but he does help with it during some of the school breaks. He is a very good help in the garden and has done a wonderful job so far." she explained quietly. She did understand what the girl meant about him not looking like he would be the type, but she had to admit, she too had first thought the same thing. Years ago when she first met everyone. "I'm sure he would be very happy for some help, especially from you seen as you have a knack with plants. I'm sure you would be a great help, and i don't think he would make you pull out all those horrid weeds."
As she questioned her about everyone still being upset, Karma did all she could not to let her face fall. She didn't particularly want to discuss this with her, but, as the subject had arose. She had to answer. "No Jenny, that isn't why i called you both here, that isn't the talk i was going to have with you. But, yes, some people are still upset about that day. But we are doing everything we can to make sure everyone gets happy again. You'll see, if you look around, almost everyone is back to normal and happy again. Alright? so don't worry too much about it." she said, trying to quell any upset in the girls mind. Goodness knows she didn't need to be down about it too, especially with the fact that there was still two missing teachers out there . . . somewhere.
"And that noise? Don't worry about it. I think it was just a plane, i'm not sure myself what it was, but it wasn't anything to worry about don't worry." she added with a small chuckle.

AFTER SOME TIME...
K'8 couldn't believe all that had happened and she hung her head low as she walked into the rec-room. She was still in a sort of shock about her demons turning on her, and finding out that Nightcrawler was there amongst them. 'I wonder what my demon's home looks like. It might be cool to go to Otherplace' she thought. 'But then again, now Rat-fiend and Fatty will probably tell everybody that I'm not cool anymore. Just great!'
She let out an exasperated sigh as she flopped down in a chair and hung her left leg over ther arm of the plush seat. Looking around for the remote control she noticed the little girl Jenny from the hangar, and the seldom seen librarian-teacher Karma. She rolled her eyes as she reached for the remote control on the table.

Jenny had been listening to Karma and amusing herself with her plant for a bit as they waited for Lucy. She never showed. "I told you Karma, shes too shy to come out here and play with us. She probably misses her momma. I miss my momma too, but you're like my momma here, so it's not too bad," she said with a big smile as she looked up at her leader adoringly.
Hey its that girl with the little weird creatures from the plane room! Except no little creatures. She looks a bit worn out. Probably doesn't want to play with us, Jenny thought as she watched the strange girl flop on the chair not far away from them and flip on the TV. She looked back at Karma and tugged her hand. "Do you think she can play with us Karma? She looks worried or something. Can I show her my friend here?" Jenny pointed to the little red plant with large eager blue eyes.

K'8 heard the little girl Jenny talking and so wished she could be that happy. She wished she was able to have been a happy kid, not that she was miserable but things had been rough for her growing up, and well, maybe she was miserable.... now. She tried to remember when she was that happy, if she had ever been that happy. Then she stopped wishing and turned to look over at the two of them sitting there.
It was at that moment that the strangest of things happened.
Young Katie Lazaro
actually
smiled.

Jenny held her plant as she watched the strange girl. She smiled! Maybe she does want to play. Wow she looks a lot different with a smile, it's pretty, she thought as she looked back up at Karma. "Karma, I think I'm gonna go play with her, she smiled at us! Come play with us!" Jenny said and tugged Karma's hand slightly before she picked up the little red flower and walked up to the girl with a shy smile on her face.
"Hi. My name is Jenny. You wanna see my flower friend? I named her Ruby on the count that shes as red as a ruby," Jenny said holding up the flower for the girl to see. "I like your smile, you should smile more. Plants and flowers always respond better to smiles cause it means that they're safe to be nice and come out," she said nodding in honesty. She knew cause the flowers and trees liked it best when she smiled.

"Thanks kid, but I don't really like my smile too much I think. I dunno cause I hardly ever smile, but I guess I could try and do it more." k'8 said and curled up the corners of her mouth again.
"Well, I guess ruby's a good name for her. I just wonder if it's really a girl flower. How can you tell?" k'8 held out her hands and said "Can I see her?" Looking down at her own scarred limbs Katie noticed she was shaking a little. It was fear, 'What's scaring me?' she wondered and hardly realized until a moment more passed that she was afraid of being nice 'What if somebody sees me like this? They'll tease me and think I musta gone soft, all playing with flowers and little girls.'
She wanted to, for the briefest of moments, take the little girl's plant and smash it on the floor and stomp on it. The idea flashed inside her skull, but instead of grinning inwardly and evilly she was almost horrified at herself. 'What kind of monster am I?' she thought.

After failing to find Ms. Frost in her office, Sara had returned to the lawn and roused Amos so she could get him safely tucked away in the barn. She had also returned the kitchen yet again to get him more food. Since having a bear's body. he would need about 90 pounds of food a day according to the books she had found on bears in the library she was going to have to figure out something beyond just raiding the kitchen. However, at this time there just was not more she could do and she needed a break. Mothering her golem was an insane amount of work and she had been running herself ragged. So to relax a bit, Sara decided to check out the recreation room. Maybe, she thought, she might even meet a few people. She felt kind of isolated at the school and hoped to make a few friends...That and she really hoped to run into Katana together. They had hit it off that first night and were going to room together, but now because of the golem Sara would probably be living in the barn.
With these thoughts on her mind, Sara entered the recreation room to see Dymnchild playing with a small red flower while a little girl and an older woman, probably a teacher watched. For a moment she felt apprehensive, scared that Dymchild's demons might come back to terrorize everybody. But then she thought better. Dymnchild seemed to be in a good mood and playing contentedly with the little flower. While the incident in the kitchen that morning had scared Sara she had no hard feelings towards the girl. She even felt kind of ashamed for yelling at her, although, to be honest, she would do it again if she felt Amos was in danger.
Giving Dymnchild and the others a friendly, yet weak smile she sat down in a corner of the room and watched the demon spawner play with the small red flower.

Jenny smiled widely and handed Ruby to the girl. "Well you can always tell by the way they grow. The boy flowers grow really fast and their petals take awhile to grow. Just like boys. They grow big fast but their brain stays small. Like my brother," she said seriously. I guess this girl gets in a lot of accidents. I wonder if she climbs trees a lot? Jenny thought before going on to explain Ruby. "See girl flowers grow nice and even, sometimes with larger petals than stem. Like me. I have more brains that my brother and hes taller than me by a lot. You have to have more brains then him too, since hes taller than you too," she said seriously with a smile.
Jenny looked back at Karma and smiled at her before she saw another girl come in, looking really shy. OH! A new firend! Now I can play with more people! Jenny grinned big and waved her over. "Hi! You wanna come play with us and my flower?" she called giggling.

Karma watched her little charge as she went off to talk to the young girl Katie, she was a little worried about what the girl would say to her, as, from first glance, she did not look to be someone who she would be happy with Jenny talking to, but, then, as she smiled, she realised that she should have known better than to judge from first appearences. And it made her smile to see the two seemingly getting along quite well, even using a prop such as the flower Karma had given her little charge was something she had not expected D'mnchyld to react well to. Never the less, it was pleasing to see the two of them getting along so well together, and she approved of the way in which Jenny seemed to bring out a new softer side of the girl which was good.
Slowly, she stood up after watching them all for a while, and seeing the newer girl enter the room as well, she motioned for her to join them with her hand. Smiling gently at her before turning back to the two other girls and kneeling down slowly by the chair. "Hello, I hope your both playing nicely." she said with a slight laugh before turning to Jenny and nudging her shoulder lightly, "Looks like someone is making alot of friends today, but tell me, have you introduced Roger yet? I'm sure he is wanting to make friends too." she said with a slight laugh, before turning back to the other girl Sara. "We don't bite, you can come and play with Jenny and us." she laughed.
