Seeing the source of the noise Hardlight almost loks control of his bowls, bladder, and mind. The fear made his hole body shake like he was shivering cold. How ironical that Frostbite made it snow, and as she did he almost laughed out loud. The idea of it snowing in hell, mixed with his fear and the terribly terrible things coming at them made him nearly loose control.
Watching the ladies use their powers reminded him that he could do amazing things too. "What, uh, what should I make with my power?" he asked miss frost and his voice was shaking like when he told his dad he was gay, no it was shaking way worse then that. "I didn't take any offense Miss, just so you know. I thought it was cool to be included with you all. If I die here can you tell my parents that I loved them, even though they-" his voice cracked and he swallowed hard "well, just tell them I loved them." His eyes were filled with tears as he looked up at her and he wiped them with the back of his leve and put on a braver face, just because he wanted the girls to be proud to have him with them.

The second that Aideen saw all the demon creatures charging at her, her hands lit up in flames and her eyes glowed brighter. "Yes Headmistress," she said in a robotic like voice, going into full battle mode just like her Uncle conditioned her to. With one swift movement, Aideen lit the first of the demons up in blazing white hot fire, even hotter than the fire from the Danger Room that made the sand into glass. The heat inside of her was at an intense degree and this time, there were no water sprinklers to bring her down. With her eyes, fire shot out of them right at the most dangerous looking demons she could spot, engulfing them completely in her fire. Her face remained mannequin-like, her mind blank and in complete battle and survival mode.
Aideen looked at her hands, remembering the feeling of training with her sai. Ah I loved those sai. So light and easy to maneuver. And oh so sharp. With that thought, the flames in Aideen's hands shaped themselves into the way her sai felt. She quickly tested her finger on the tip of this fire and heat shaped sai and almost smiled at the sharpness. That makes sense, heat has more mass than the flames, and apparently I can compact my heat to fit a shape. Useful I think. Bringing her arms into fighting position Aideen experimented by changing the fire sai into knife shape. It worked.
Like a machine gun, the knives shot out of Aideen's hands at the demons all around her. She liked this newfound discovery of her powers. They made her feel more like a warrior as she concentrated on her targets and compacted the heat to make the fire knives as sharp as possible. Aideen allowed room for Lorelai to get her part, for ice can be sharp. Her conditioning, however, refused to allow her to let up and perform any less than her best.

For Emma it was odd when she was in her Diamond form, cut off from other minds, a distinctly un-nerving feeling for a telepath. Her hardened body in some way prevented her from using her mental powers, as offensive weapons they would have been useless certainly, however to be cut off from the minds of her students was not something she relished.
Looking at Frostbite as she tested her powers and let fly with a salvo of ice shards Emma was relieved that the girls had swapped clothes just in time. She saw the results of Loralai's attack as a handful of demons were hit and two of them went down clutching for their eyes. "Nice shooting Frostbite, make your shots count honey- aim for their eyes!." Emma knew the girl would have limited 'ammunition' in the heat of this dimension known as Otherplace.
Feeling him close by she looked down as Kevin spoke. She didn't need to read his mind to understand what he was saying. All of her children had come from places and people who didn't quite understand them, and she was sensitive to that fact. His case was slightly different as he was doubly misunderstood by his parents. Sure it was true that they loved him as well, even if they had a hard time admitting it to him, or themselves for that matter too. "You are included Kevin, and I promise you'll be safe. I will protect you, we all will." she said to him.
Ember's tone and demeanor was still robotic, cutting oneself off from emotion has that effect, but her powers were truly impressive. Emma had hoped the girl wouldn't let the approaching horde come too close and she was not disappointed. The heat from her body radiating out as she engulfed the first of her victims must have been impressive, but when the Headmistress saw the results of the firebender's abilities she was noticeably proud of the girl. Not only had she managed to decimate to cinder the first demon she struck, but like a scythe her fire daggers cut a notch in the wave of creatures. Seeing the opportunity Emma called out "Great Ember! Cut us a path, that way!"
Emma made an executive decision to take this show mobile and she called out to the ice princess "Frostbite! You take the rear and we move fast!" With a smile she said to her brave little man "Hardlight, try to stay close now. Do what you can to help out." The group would be overwhelmed soon enough Emma knew, but she didn't want them to sense in her voice any hint of that, so she tried to sound as confident in them as she could.

Lorelai was unable to help feeling even the smallest sense of pride when some of her ice shards hit a couple of the demons that headed toward her. I am ineffective here, my powers are limited. There's only so much I can do and I don't like it at all. What else can I do here that will be of any use to me or them? Aideen's got all the power she'll ever need here and she's damn well taking advantage, and because she's using it I have to stay as far away as possible or I'll be completely useless. I could always try that ice beam thing, I guess, but I'd have to use that even more sparingly than the shards. Damnit, anything I do will be coming from me, and I need to make it with the rest of them, she thought, gritting her teeth as she turned away for a second at hearing Miss Frost's voice.
She came out of her thoughts as she was complimented on the little she did do to the oncoming demons. The corner of her mouth curled up a little, and then quickly reverted back as she got the order to hold up the rear but to move quickly. She gave a small nod and began moving with the rest of the group, looking back every couple seconds to see how much she had to deal with. She was scared, What if I let them down? What if I don't get enough of them? The best I can do, I guess, is just to try.
Looking back as she kept up, she shot out her hands and let loose more shards. They were a decent enough size, and thankfully, she found a bit more ease in using them, and somehow it was starting to take a little less effort than it had before. She was supposed to aim for the eyes, and she sent them spread out because she saw that there were different sizes and shapes to the demons, which meant their eyes could be anywhere. She turned her head to her front and kept herself in the right direction, turning around again to send out another wave of them, unable to do much else, nothing fancy or amazing.

Aideen was quite satisfied with her newfound abilities. The heat was easy to compact when she had a clear image and idea of the feel of the weapon. Her posture remained alert and in warrior-like as Emma Frost gave her further orders. "Yes Headmistress," Aideen said in a robotic like voice again. She concentrated on the fire that was so alive and fierce in her, running like a wild and untamable river in her veins. She spread her arms out and hot fire throwing stars omitted themselves from all over her arms straight ahead and at the front lines. She could almost felt the sharp points the heat compacted as they left her body shaping and forming into throwing stars that left her body and found their targets with deadly accuracy, as her hours of training had taught her. Uncle would be proud, even impressed. He thought my fire was a foolish talent. Oh he was wrong, so very wrong. It enables me to be the warrior he taught me to be and strengthens my honor. I will not fail him.
Aideen's fire throwing stars made the air fill with screams as they hit their targets. a path in front of them cleared and she went first, as the Headmistress ordered her to. Sai formed in her hand, the heat compacting into the perfect shape and weight, just as Aideen remembered. She wrapped her long slender hand around it and leaped forward, stabbing any demons that came forward. Bringing her arms out again, Aideen made a fenced path of fire that reached quite high for them to go through and continued to go forward, stabbing any demon that managed to cross her fire fenced path. She moved like a machine, listening to any order the Headmistress may give and not allowing a demon to escape her sight with her fire made deadly sharp sai.
In the back of her mind, Aideen was considerate of Lorelai to not make the fire wall that protected them from the demons too close to them, not wanting her heat sensitive teammate to suffer from the heat too much. At the same time they weren't so far apart to give the demons easier access. She trusted the ice creator to keep up the rear with her own skills as she followed the directions of her Headmistress like a good warrior.

Kevin watched both ahead and behind as the girls made their powers do for them all things he had never thought to do. His mind didn't work that way, he could never have come up with throwing starts ro ice blades or whatever they were doing. He found it amazing and he was nearly mezmerized into a trance by the show. If it was not for the fear and the heat he would have zoned out completely like he was watching the wildest movie he ever had seen. "Ninja stars" He said softly and he remembered that he watched a movie with this boy from his hometown once when he was smaller about a ninja in white. It was avery old movie and the flamestars made him remember it. The funniest thing he remembered from it was the little thingys that were like tacks that the ninja in white had thrown on the ground and then when the guys who were after him stepped on them they jumped up and down with these thingys sticking in their feet. He took a minute to think of what they looked like 'Oh, yeah, I remember' he thought as he placed his hands together and tried to form one of the foot stabby thingies. Pulling his hands apart he looked and saw... ...that he had made a close enough item and he was excited to be helping. He Rushed a few steps back to Frostbite and making sure he didn't place any under her feet he created sevral dozen quickly and carefully tossing them out behind them like marbels. "Marbels!" he said and scattered dozens of tiny balls of hardened light amongst the sculpted light foot traps. "That oughtta slow 'em down a little he said as he rushed back to Emma's side.

Emma watched these kids take charge of the situation and react. It was impressive to see and as frightening as it was they seemed to hardly flinch. It must have been the fact that the creatures were far enough off, or the video games and horror movies that they all enjoyed so much had desensitized them, but whatever the case they moved with a purpose and even Hardlight came up with a tactic.
It was good that he did because they would need him she realized, sooner than any of them had expected, to grow up and face this battle with them. At that moment the firewalls gave way under the pressure of then thousand demons pushing in on them. The first demon came through as is shoved from behind and were burnt and charred.
Some horribly wounded by the flames but others seemingly immune to the fires having been spawned here in this hellish place. Emma looked at her children maybe for the last time as she screamed out "Keep together, as close as you can! Don't let them take you!" She flexed her arms and pounded her hands together like mighty hammers on the ground sending shock waves and ripples out and causing the horde ahead of her position to become off balance and lose their footing.
Looking back she saw that Frostbite was improving her aim and Ember was maintaining an equilibrium with the approaching swarm as none could seem to advance on her and had decided to fix her mind around using her fire with a ninja motif. Her influence was evident as the caltrops and marbles that Hardlight had scattered looked to be working both to injure and also fascinate as the Demons which didn't feel the pain in their feet or fall from the marbles were staring at them in awe. 'Interesting' she thought as she realized she had to get out there and knuckle up with these mugs.

Frostbite watched briefly as Ember kept using her fire, and watched with slight surprise at Hardlight's innovative idea as she moved in accordance with his little strategy. She watched as a bunch of demons fell down and intrigue the others. "Nice one," she called out to him, and then moved when Miss Frost sent shockwaves along the ground, knocking more down along with the others. I need to think, and quickly. I have to reserve my powers, but what else can I do? I need something to use that doesnt require ice, but what? she thought as she kept moving, trying to think.
She looked to Hardlight and thought of his smart idea. Oh! Maybe! A weapon simple enough that would seem easy enough to use, as well as be long enough to hold the demons back but provide some threat to them - I got it! she thought as she looked towards her teammate. "Hardlight!" she called to him, "Could you make me a scythe out of hardened light, as strong as you can?" she asked as she kept moving, even letting loose one more small wave of ice shards to keep back the incoming demons. I hope he'll be able to..it'll help a lot.

Aideen was not discouraged by the demons immune to fire. Her conditioning taught to not stop fighting till ordered, and Emma Frost was had only ordered for them to keep close. I will fight for my honor and under the command of my superior. Fire is not my only weapon. Aideen fought nonstop with the demons surrounding them, moving quickly over the rocky and sandy terrain toward the cliffs they were approaching. They were unlike anything she had ever seen, even in her fantasy books. Their faces were distorted and demonic, some with long teeth that oozed with an odd colored orange slime. Some had only one eye that was yellow puss coming out of it as they leered at the group with forked tongues hanging out. Some were large with a small body and think tentacle like arms that slithered around as they moved. Others had spikes all over their bodies and scaly dry skin. None of the authors of those books were ever here that's for sure. Aideen's fire lit eyes scanned the demons as she rushed over to with her quite powerfully made fire sai to stab a scaly skinned mutated lizard like demon that tried to lash at Hardlight from behind. She plunged the sai deep into the demon's chest, using a good deal of strength to rip them apart, tearing the demon's chest open as the smell similar to burning skin fill the air along with the screeching of the demon that was now convulsing in a pool of blood on the ground. It took barely a second for Aideen to leap away from this demon and go right to a giant demon that had slimy looking yellow skin, black eyes and a spike on his head. He was swinging around a club and blocking their route. She shot a powerful fireball at the thing which seemed to do nothing more than disturb him. He raised the club, aiming it at the group and one of Aideen's fire daggers shot out of her eyes and into his hand, causing him to drop the large heavy club right on top of two smaller demons. Aideen leaped up surprisingly easily and smoothly in the air and stabbed the giant demon right in both eyes with her fire sai. He gave another scream of pain as he wobbled around, falling to his back on the side of the path and crushing a number of demons under him. Aideen balanced her self on his chest as he went down, her balance heightened for some reason, though it was excellent to begin with. Even from the giant demon's chest she was a good six feet off the ground. Something leaped over Aideen overhead, making her turn her fire lit eyes sharply. It was a skinny purple demon with extra long teeth and wild looking eyes, landing on the ground and heading right for Lorelai. She shot a long powerful beam of fire right at the demon, incinerating it on the spot. The power of the beams was with more force than Aideen intended, so powerful that the force of them pushed her into the air. To Aideen's delightful surprise, she didn't fall to the ground. She stayed suspended in the air, and with a quick test she found she could easily move around above ground. It must be the heat... It must be allowing me to move around more easily including to fly. A fine battle tactic. With another newly discovered ability, Aideen flew around the area and shot long and powerful fire beams out of her hands, incinerating the dead bodies and killing off some more. Her body lit up with a light flame behind her as a sort of protective barrier as she flew ahead of the group in the air, catching the attention of a good deal of the demons below. Fire beams barreled down at the demons below, clearing a good path for the group. If they hurried they can make it before those things remember to gang up on them. Aideen cleared a path for them as the heat seemed to intensify, her body still sensitive to how the levels and rising of the heat. As she lead them down the path, Aideen saw the reason of the intensified heat: she had lead them right into a river of molten hot lava! Aideen flew above the hot lava, feeling the intense heat affect her body even already in the powerful state she was in. The heat was so strong from the lava compared to the environment that the waves of heat were clearly visible in this already hot environment. Aideen suspended in the air a good distance above the molten hot lava shooting throwing fire daggers machine gun style at any demons that came too close to the group as they tried to catch up with her. As an honorable warrior, I will wait as Uncle taught me to for the further instructions of my superior.

"Yes, but my light-scuplts are really fragile so it'll probubly break, but I can sure." Kevin called out to Loralai. He would do whatever he could for her she was one his only friends and she really looked like she needed a break. It must of been tyring for her or something in this heat because she was looking a hot mess. He concentrated and was about to form the wepon for his friend when he felt like something had got right behind him.
" -AAAAHHH!- " Kevin screamed witht the fear as it overtook him and he couldn't believe suddenly how scared he got. 'I'm gonna freakin DIE here this is totally insane! I have only kissed one boy and he wasn't that good a kisser, I'm too young to die. Holly Shit I can't do this !!! I wanna go HOME !!!!!' He thought as a dry unmanicured scally ashy and dirty hand reached up and grabbed his shoulder. "I DON WUNNA DIE!!!!" Kevin yelled as the fear overtook him and he went pee on hisself. He didn't know it and he didn't care but he did it because it was totally scarry and he saw all the faces and fangs and clawed hands and monstery things getting closer.
Kevin was done, he was done for and he was gone. Someone could have hung a sign on him that said "out to lunch" or even "back in 5 minutes" but the little fellow, whose kacki pants were stained yellow, would take more time than that to shake free his senses. He stood there frozen with fear and if it hadn't been for Aideen he sureley would have been a tasty snack. She saved him from that one, but he wasn't moving and more demons were coming.

The White Queen, as she had been known for so many years, had managed to take the footing out from under a dozen or more demons as they had broken through the wall of flames. It only made sense that the demons in the far back would just keep pushing forward and the surging throng of creatures would eventually burst through the floodgate of fire.
It was then that she saw him. He was the largest demon in the group and he was calling out in some strange Arabic sounding dialect, ancient and evil sounding. 'If I take him out then maybe the rest will get a bit confused and give us a break to make our move out of here, we need to find some higher ground' she thought. Emma muscled her way into the tide of creatures as they slashed and bit at her she felt hardly anything but the slightest of pressure and their teeth broke and claws skittered harmlessly off of her diamond hard form.
She hadn't gone too far from her kids, and was maybe a stride or two from the head demon when she heard a scream. "HARDLIGHT- No!" she realized that it was a mistake to leave their side, realized a second too late. She thought if she could take out the brains of this group then the body of it would fall into disorder, but there was too many of them.
Looking back she saw Ember save the boy and saw too that he was going into shock. With a violence to rival that of one gym teacher of the Academy known as Mr. Logan, Emma pushed her way back to the group and clobbered four or five demons with her diamond limbs. Sending her targets flying off in various directions the strength of one art teacher, Mr. Rasputin, could hardly be compared to the Headmistress at that moment. Like a mother wolverine, or momma bear protecting her young she pummeled the sin out of the assembled congregation of hell. Hers was a sermon of pain! Finally reaching the side of her children she took hold of Kevin and scooped him up like a toddler.
"Follow Aideen's - uh!?!" Emma was trying to tell Loralai to follow the firebender when she witnessed the young woman take flight. "That is - wow..." she said in the one briefest of moments of calm as the demons watched the girl alight as well and all standing there seemed a bit shocked and confused. "Go!" she said pointing and followed the trail that Aideen was making.
The path followed the flow of the land. The ragged and sharp landscape, with it's spikes of jagged rocks, channelized them and led them down into some valley. 'No dammit I need us to go up' Emma thought but it was not possible for her to send her message telepathically in her diamond form. Moments later, after following the path and it bending back and forth several times, she saw what she feared, something impassable- a river of molten rock. She let Kevin slide down off of her hip and turned back to see the horde of Demons as they collectively grinned and almost as if it was rehearsed liked their lips in anticipation.

The more that happened, the more angry Frostbite got at herself and the situation at hand, especially when her chance of being able to help got paralyzed with shock, though her anger made her grow colder, and with the uniform keeping it in she felt a little better. Damnit damnit damnit! I'm bloody useless and I can't stand it! Now Ember's flying and Hardlight's scared shitless! she thought as she watched Miss Frost come out with her own attacks on the demons, and then come back to pick up Hardlight as she was moving to get to him herself. Her anger only grew more when she felt a whole new sea of heat wash over her and the rest of them as she saw now that they were right by a river of molten lava. Oh, just great, way to lead! This makes things so much easier doesn't it, she thought sarcastically, her eyes beginning to glow a bright ice blue in her fury. Looking around, she refused to go further defenseless, and her eyes flashed around when she smelled something smoking. Behind her was an incinerated demon who had dropped just the thing she had wanted: a scythe. "Well imagine that," she muttered and picked it up. It had a good sharp blade, and was long enough for it to function as a bo staff as well. Finders keepers, losers burned.Turning back around she kept up with the rest of them, though a medium sized blue demon with three eyes blocked her way, she narrowed her eyes and lashed out with the scythe, swinging it and with beginner's luck, sliced off the head. With that, she caught up and came to the edge where the others stood. When Miss Frost put Hardlight down, Frostbite went up to him and expended a tiny amount of cold energy as she placed her free hand on his shoulder and gave him a small shake. "Snap out of it," she said, her eyes still glowing in anger. Hearing snickering behind her, she growled as she turned to see two little green demons trying to act all slick as they came behind her and Hardlight. Her other had gripped her weapon and she swept out with it, missing them. Swinging again, she caught the first one and it got lodged inside. Grunting, she tried to get the one stuck on her blade to hit the other and knocked it into a nearby rock. She swung so that the one on her blade hit the other again, and she pulled the blade out, the blood of the demons mixing in a sickly swirl. She turned back to face Hardlight and looked out at the river of lava. "We need to get over that. I for one want to get it out of the way," she commented, her voice hard as her eyes went back to normal. But how? Nothing I could make would last more than a few seconds. A bridge of solid light maybe? Would it be stable enough, though?"Hardlight, try to see if you could make a bridge thick enough to handle the weight if we went across one by one. I'll cover you," she said, since the first time she asked him to make something, he had been attacked. With that she gripped the scythe in both hands to prove she meant to back him up.

Aideen kept an eye on the group, trusting her Headmistress to give her further instructions. The heat from the lava added to the incredible feeling that was coursing through her body that was delicious comfortable and familiar. She spread her arms out and concentrated on an image in her head from one of her favorite books. With a slight jerk of her body, deadly sharp fire arrows shot out of her body in massive speed, lighting the red sky up in a wave of flames as they rained down on the demons, piercing them with the blazing hot heat compacted blades. More screams and sounds filled the air as the first three front lines of the demons dropped down and the others tried to push through. Aideen turned her eyes to the sky briefly closing them as she felt the fire in her rising up at the feeling of being so at home in this place of extreme heat. The flames on her back intensifiefd slightly, and when Aideen opened her eyes the fire was noticeably intense in them as well. Fire shot out of her eyes, penetrating the demon closest to her Headmistress as she awaited orders. My only order is to protect and keep them away. I will do it with honor.

"UH, wha?" Kevin was totally out of it and he hadn't realised how scared he could actually get. This was the scaredest he was ever been in his lifetime and he was about to have a heart attack. The attack of the Brotherhood was hardly anything compared to these things and he watched with horror as they closed in on him and his friends.
"Oh right, uh a, a bridge? Did you say a bridge?" He looked up at Frostbite a slight look of confusion on his face and saw how she was gesturing for him to make something to get them over the river of lava.
"Oh god I don't know. It's far across and you know the bigger I make something the more fragile it seems to be. We'll have to tread lightly if I do make this work." Kevin thought for a second or too and then started to make a bridge, simple and rudimentry but it looked solid. "It might be too hot if we try and walk over that withought some heat shiedling" he said and sculpted wide thin side panels like wigs or sneeze guars on a salad bar to deflect some of the heat radiating up from the lava. A moment or two more and he was done.
"I don't know if Ms.Frost will be able to use it, not in her diamond form for sure, but she might be too heavy in her normal form too." He said to Emma and Loralai. "No offense meant Miss Frost, I just am not that good with my powers yet." He said as he decided to test it out and go first. "If it cracks and I fall in remember what I said for my mom and dad, okay?" He looked at them both with a timid fearful hesitencey and started p the four stairs to the level of the bridge.

Looking up at Ember with a thank you wave for her assist in blasting a nearby demon Emma realized they would be hard pressed to survive if Hardlight couldn't make a way for them to cross the lava flow. Thankfully the young Acolyte was able to pull himself together and focus on the bridge that Frostbite had suggested. "Good work Kevin!" Emma called back over her shoulder as she rushed to lock up with a few hideous snarling fang-boys that had made their way down the path intent on a tasty treat of human flesh.
"You'll be fine, and I'm not offended, just get across you two." she said with a glance back at Kevin and Loralai. She knew from recently looking into some of the properties of her new Diamond form with BEAST's help that she wasn't exactly diamond, but had virtually the same dynamic elemental properties, and if worst came to worst she might be able to survive that lava flow.
'As long as it's only as hot as earth lava I should be alright in there, but if not and it's hotter...well, then I might wind up turning to graphite. No better than the lead in a number 2 pencil. That won't do- gotta think this through...these kids of mine need me' she thought as she used every ounce of her superhuman strength to hold back the demon horde at the choke point of the path.
