The distortion of space-time was never a fun experience for anyone let alone a world class telepath. It seemed to Emma that when the fold between dimensions occurred that her hold on every mind she had cherished and had been touching was ripped away for an instant. She was not one to pry for the most part, of course when someone's thoughts screamed out at her she could hardly be held responsible for picking up on them, as was the case when Aqua had let fly with a few choice thoughts that day when they had all tested out the Danger Room.
She could feel the reality altering around her, and knew someone had activated the dimensional doorway that TuneUp had devised out of Kitty's old hide and seek toy. The heat was baking down on her and her eyes opened slowly. Sitting up she expected at least to see the group of them in their relative positions from the genetics-lab where they had just been, but that was not the case. The glare was not as bad as she had anticipated, the heat coming not from the sky above as in a desert on Earth, but from the ground, and it was a dry heat at that.
Looking she saw three children sprawled out and unconscious, no one else. Only Frostbite, Ember, and Hardlight. 'Just me and the girls' she thought, then chided herself for teasing little Kevin. She knew he couldn't help but be who he was, just as none of them could help but be mutants. Speaking she said "Children, children wake up. Can you hear me?" Emma crawled over to the nearest of her kids, Frostbite and reached over to touch her forehead and wake her.

The last thing Lorelai remembered seeing was everyone in the genetic lab and she was waiting to have frosting while Hardlight did something she didn't quite see. Something happened, she didn't know what, but she felt as if she were sucked down something and stuff was changing, but she didnt know what. The next thing she saw was black, and then she felt two things, one after another. A hand was touching her forehead, bringing her back to consciousness, but that wasn't the only thing. Heat. Lots and lots of heat. Lorelai's eyes snapped open, looking around as everything she saw and everything she felt was hot, really really hot. "OW!!!" she yelled, sitting up quickly with a woozy head, feeling the heat under her and all around her. She swayed in her seat a bit, and then looked around, cringing. "We're in Limbo aren't we?" she asked, taking a wild guess. "OWWW!!!" she yelled again, realizing that she was still sitting on the ground, and got herself up so that her butt wouldn't burn. Where is everyone? Where'd they go, Ian and the rest of them? Damnit! It's really really hot! she thought, getting to her feet, letting her head regain itself. "Where's everyone?" she asked the headmistress, letting the snow boots she still wore protect her feet from the heat that helped wake her up. She wrapped one cool arm around herself and used the other to rub her sore bottom as she saw that she was also with Aideen and Hardlight, who were still unconscious.

Heat... Warmth... Mmmm so nice... so pretty.... Aideen's dark eyes fluttered open, and her mind regained consciousness slowly. She sat up slowly feeling oddly comforted as her mind regained focus, hearing someone saying 'wake up.' "Cyclops sir?.... Emma?!" she said quietly confused slightly as she tried to register what just happened. Have I finally lost it completely? Was not Cyclops just in front of me? The second Aideen regained full focus and realized she was in a very, very hot place, her body jerked back. Aideen gasped as she felt her body absorbing the heat, the tiny pores all over her body opening up allowing the heat in her body. She never felt like this before. It was like she was cold her entire life and she just stepped into a hot bath for the first time. The heat seeped into her so warm and comforting and familiar. Aideen embraced it. With closed eyes she felt the extreme heat settle into her body, warming places she never thought could be warm. The fire inside her came to life. She felt the fire coursing through her veins in every part of her body. Oddly enough, she even felt the fire in her frozen cold heart bringing it to life. Aideen tilted her head back on the ground taking in deep breaths as a slight smile played on her lips. The heat in her was exquisite, bringing her to a state she never even imagined. Aideen faced her head toward the Headmistress and Lorelai with the unconscious Hardlight she knew was nearby. She opened her dark eyes, but they weren't dark. Her large eyes were lit up, reflecting the fire inside her. Any trace of a smile left her lips as it became mannequin like again. She stood up slowly looking around her environment with no feeling whatsoever. Aideen looked down at her hands and saw the very noticeable heat waves coming from her hands. She looked back with her fire eyes at the Headmistress. "Yes Headmistress?" she asked softly.

"AAAAHHHH!!! What the! Where am, oh? Oh, god is this the place?" Kevin was freaking out as he woke up, kicking and thrashing on the hot hot ground. Then and looked around but then he fell very silent and waited for someone to find him, he looked around as he stood up slowly and thought that he was really going to be in troublr for messing wiht TuneUp's creation.
He saw the three girls and looked at tyhe landscape. It was HOT and that was an understatement, but it was really dry too. Like as bad as some of the old cowboy moies like The good, the bad, and the ugly, except waaaaay worser than that. 'I am seriously DONE with this school and everybody hating on me. When I get back, aw hell IF I get back, I'm totally going to leave school and tell my parents I got cured and just go home!' he thought. 'This is not even close to being a part of any ciriculum that I have ever heard of, and I wanted to go to Harvard Law, like Elle Woods in Legally Blonde and meet the guy of my dreams and all that happily ever after crap!'
"Help?" he said meekly and waited for one of the women to notice him standing there and all lost looking as he was. He totally needed a hug.

Emma stood up and dusted herself off. The atmosphere was certainly hotter than the reality they all had just stepped over from and it made sense to her that Ember would find a heightened sense of ability and power. She would need to be on guard against anything remotely similar to Jean's experience with the Phoenix force.
However, she knew the Phoenix Force was a cosmic entity and hardly relate-able to the current circumstances Aideen found herself in. She was merely experiencing an over abundance of her natural abilities not, as Jean had endured, a pouring of the entirety of a cosmic being into the vessel of a human being. Although to be technical it was more the Phoenix Force itself trying to experience life as a human, while Jean herself had been safely placed into suspended animation by the entity. So upon reflecting on this for a moment she decided to let Ember enjoy herself and explore the newfound potential she now had access to.
They had come here unprepared and yet knowing what the intension of finding a way in to Limbo, the pocket dimension known as Otherplace, was none of them could or should be totally unaware of where they were. She was slightly impressed that Hardlight, little and young as he was had been able to come to terms with and realize where he had gone so quickly. The more pressing concern was Frostbite and her natural susceptibility to heat. Intense as the heat here was Emma knew there would have to be something done for the ice wielder, and done post haste. The idea of rescuing their friends was probably far more palatable than the reality of it, if not for all then certainly for poor Loralai
Turning to her little group of independent people, each with a will of their own yet having at least one common goal, to stay alive, she said "We are in a very dangerous place now, this is Limbo my dear children. I see no one else and cannot sense any of our friends here yet either, whether they came or not I can't say. So it would appear that we must help ourselves."
She looked at each of them and with a very serious tone asked "Is anyone hurt or bleeding? Any broken bones?" she made a cursory inspection of each as she waved them over to join her and then said "Tell me if anything is wrong, hold nothing back now I must know if anything is causing you distress." She was concerned for each of them, for each in their own way was in jeopardy of succumbing to the power of this realm, it would turn an individual into a demon given enough time. Even one with a will as strong as Emma herself.

The initial soreness from the contact with the very hot ground finally faded away, and Lorelai regained most of her composure. She couldn't help but keep a grim facial expression as she tried to deal in the heat, though she tried to concentrate to keep herself cool, though it was hard. She wasn't in her element anymore, not at all, especially when she saw Aideen pretty much flare up in response to the atmosphere. She'd have to keep a bit of a distance from her, because she could feel the extra heat radiating off of her.
Taking a step closer to Miss Frost, she listened as her initial question was answered: they were indeed in Limbo, and then that they were by themselves; the others were somewhere else if they were even in this dimension. "Um," she said, raising her pointer finger, "Well, I'm not bleeding and I don't have any broken bones, but I'm kinda roasting here," she said, continuing to focus on keeping herself remotely cool. I really wish I had my uniform. I'm sure that would've kept me cold enough. I'd even deal with the extra tightness of it. If I had any idea that any of this would be happening, I'd have been more prepared, she thought to herself as she looked at the headmistress.

Aideen looked down at her hands at the rippling heat waves that came off her hands. Her mannequin expression never changed, but inside her body was embracing the newfound heat that fueled her power. She always knew that she was directly linked to fire, and fire was linked to her. With all this heat and fire presence all around her, Aideen realized then that she wasn't just linked to fire she was apart of fire. It was her in every sense and form, with equal use that doesn't compensate for the danger of it. Fire. It is used to keep one from freezing, to cook food, boil water, make machines run. It gives light and is a core element of Earth. Fire can kill, can burn people, destroy property, as well as someone's life. I am fire. Fire is apart of me my soul and my physical being. This is how I should be. Aideen looked up with her fire eyes at Emma, her mannequin like face never changing. "I am fine Headmistress. Better than I have ever been," she answered in a soft odd voice that bordered on melodious.
Aideen looked around and instantly thought of Logan. I have a debt to pay, and I will pay it. Damn, it's going to be hard to see Logan furious with me, but it's for the best. I will somehow get him out of harm's way. And I gotta do it soon. She looked back at the Emma and said flat out. "We have to find Wolverine and Nightcrawler. Can we get going?" she asked unzipping her sweatshirt and revealing her uniform. She didn't want the zipper getting caught in her hair.

Walking over he looked around behind him, the feeling of being watched was something he was uniquely atuned to being in a minority group that was often hated by alot of people in the world, and as he got closer he said "So we're all alone here? Nobody else came through? I was thinking I wouldn't have to come here because I hardly know how to do anything with my power but make artwork." He looked at them all as he came up to the grouop and said "I'm fine really, no injuries," and then looked all around them, scanning the craggy rocky landscape and he whispered " But I think we're being watched."

Emma couldn't sense anything and had been trying to since she awoke minutes before. "I trust your instincts Kevin. Since my powers seem to have no effect on demon minds I cannot confirm that we are being watched. Everyone be on your guard." She said taking a moment to look around herself.
"And when I ask if anything is bothering you, I mean it, tell me. Frostbite, you are holding something back. Forgive me for reading your mind but I have been trying to sense any others from the Academy and I just picked up on your thoughts. You are burning up?" she looked sternly at the girl, sternly yet with a motherly concern.
"You need a uniform, yes? Well it looks like Ember brought hers." she looked over at Aideen and smiled in gratitude. Not at Ember so much as at fate itself. 'Thank god she wore that maybe she'll let her friend borrow it' she thought. "Why don't you ask her if you can use it."

Lorelai looked to Hardlight as he mentioned them being watched. With that, she glanced around, seeing nothing, not knowing to expect anything but the unexpected, and then when Miss Frost spoke to her, she looked to her. Seeing the stern look given to her at holding back thoughts that the headmistress easily read. I just don't want to seem weak, I know I need to deal with the heat, but I know I can only take so much of it before it becomes too much, she thought, sure that if she were still reading she'd pick up on that.
"I'm sorry, but yeah, I'm burning up and I'm trying to keep myself relatively cool, but it's hard to concentrate with all the heat being constant and everything," she confessed. When she mentioned that Aideen had brought her uniform and suggested that she ask her, Lorelai's eyes widened slightly. I'd hate to impose on her, a uniform is like a second skin and it'd be me borrowing someone else's. But Aideen has all the heat she'll ever need here, and has no need to insulate herself, but here without mine I'm screwed. But then again, I never expected that I'd be here by nightfall. I figured I'd be going about my regular business, she thought with a tiny grimace. "Ok..."
She turned her head to Ember with the same tiny grimace. "Would it be alright if I could use your uniform to keep me cold? I promise I'll try not to ruin it, and I'm sorry to impose. I'm unprepared," she said, keeping still so that she wouldn't feel more heat from moving.

Aideen stared at the Headmistress, slightly annoyed that her inquiry was overlooked, but her mannequin like face never twitched in the slightest. She moved her eyes around the landscape with her lit up fire eyes carefully looking for signs of life. I cannot leave a debt to be unpaid. This is possibly the only time in my life that I will be able to right a wrong in such a strong sense. I will not be able to live with myself if I do not take the opportunity. Aideen looked around carefully, also getting an eerie feeling, like when she was in one of her Uncle's training sessions and was due to run into a trap or surprise test.
She looked back at Lorelai and then down at her uniform. Without a word, she shrugged off her zip-up hoodie, allowing it to fall on the ground. She slid down her sweats, revealing her full uniform and stepped out of her sweats. Aideen uncovered the zipper in the front of her uniform and slid it down. Thankfully I have my sports bra and yoga short shorts on underneath. Otherwise I would think I was back in Stones' room. She peeled off her uniform and stepped out of it carefully, handing it to Lorelai before she pulled on her jogging pants and slipped her hoodie on, zipping it up enough to not flap all over the place, but not all the way so her hair wouldn't get caught in it. At least my bra is black and matches the jogging suit. She smoothed out the bottom of the hoodie against her slightly muscular tan stomach. My skin color darkened to a nice healthy shade. Like when I went to Ecuador with Uncle for that one week.

"Thank you," Lorelai said as she saw Aideen start stripping down to take off her uniform. She wasn't fully comfortable with undressing as well, but the cause was worth it enough, so she followed suit. Her clothes were lightweight and with the windbreaker, shirt, and pants gone all that was left was a matching black bra and underwear. Think of it like a bikini, she thought to make her feel slightly better about stripping down in front of the headmistress, Aideen, and Hardlight.
She took the offered uniform and put it on, debating whether or not to put her original clothes back on. They'll probably get burned off if I do, she thought again as she just folded them neatly and put them on the ground. She looked at the uniform on her. It felt different, but the tightness reminded of her of her own uniform. I like my Acolyte red better, but I won't complain. Already I feel colder, it feels good, she thought, looking down at the Paragon green she now wore.
She flexed her arms and hands in the uniform, feeling the cold from her body stay there, and with it being insulated she got colder. Ahh, that's a lot better.

"Wow, too bad you guys are here with me. That whole swapping clothes show woulda probably been appreciated more by one of the other boys in the school." he grinned wide and added "And I shur could have enjoyed that more if you two were TuneUp and Riff~Raff, but oh well."
He looked at the other girls and started to giggle. Then a sound stopped his wind in his chest and he felt his heart beat speed up a million times a million, wich was really fast by any accounts, and his eyes went wide. He did the best he could to not scream as the sound came from more than one places arounds them. It was close, and coming in fast!

She smiled at Hardlights joke and said "Well, it fits alright at least. And green will have to do for now, but all in all it looks good on-" Emma stopped speaking at the sound. She had heard it too. 'Dammit too much levity and not enough military foresight, how does Scott do it?' She didn't have time to wonder about the particulars of her man's brilliantly strategic mind as from all around them, as if a floodgate had been opened Demons of all shapes and sized rushed forth to attack them. They were far enough off to attempt a mind attack. Focusing her mental abilities she lashed out, not surprisingly to Emma however it had no effect. "As I feared children my mental powers have no effect on them, prepare yourselves for combat. Ember you will need to keep them back Frostbite you do your best and Hardlight you stay by me. I'm going Diamond!" she announced and concentration furrowed her brow. An instant later her entire body, hair and all had become diamond hard and she balled up her hands into fists saying "Now we teach these jokers not to mess with us ladies, no offense meant Kevin." She said with a slight smile, her teeth sparkled as did the entire rest of her.

Lorelai still flexed her hands, getting used to them being tightly gloved again as she saw Hardlight giggle at his joke and then all of a sudden stop, as well as Miss Frost speak and then cut herself off. Alert, she turned her head quickly, looking around at anything that might be moving besides them, now that she heard sounds that surrounded them.
Hearing that they should ready themselves for combat, Lorelai braced herself, tensing up as she slowly surveyed the area again. How is this going to work? It's hot here, how will my powers work? I'm afraid everything I use will melt or just evaporate, she thought while she tried to figure out what she could do to be of use here. The time to fight was coming quickly, especially since she saw that the headmistress had turned into a....diamond.
Looking away from her as she heard her order, she breathed a second and let herself go colder, feeling it as it was kept in by the uniform. Clenching her fists, she looked at her hands and tried to think quickly. What if I made something like a haze that would obscure us all from view? No, because then we wouldn't be able to see, and then we'd be fighting blindly. Can't have that, she thought as she unclenched her fists. She was nervous, she was afraid her powers wouldn't be effective here, that and the fact that there were demons coming at them from all angles. She'd work with what she could, and decided.
Turning her palms up, she held them up high enough from the ground and let sprays of snow come out of her hands, spreading out around in front of her. It was a quick test, and the result was undeterminable for the moment, so she did the next thing she thought of: she let them become sharp shards of ice, and she shot them up ahead of her at whatever incoming demons were there, trying to hit them in any way she could and knock them down before they could reach the group.
