~* Yes, well done Kate. Now we have to get inside that structure, but here's the tricky part- Belasco will know us the moment he casts his eyes on us and then the game is up, so we must all be ready. Cyclops will be giving us all instructions as best he can, but make no mistakes about this point... we must get our fellow mutants and get out of there. *~ Emma glanced around the group as this all seemed to take place in the moment when the demons were deciding how to take what D'mnchyld had just said to them.
~* Our best bet will be to not get tied up in any confrontation too deeply, if we can help it. These demons will most likely get us inside there and then turn on us so be ready for that. They will be the first to strike as they will be amongst us already and so study them for their weaknesses. *~ Seeing Kevin's little face as he shared his inner struggles with them all made Emma smile slightly, but it faded quickly. Even through all of this they were only kids and she hoped they would be able to survive to receive their hearts desires...she hoped it wouldn't kill them or worse.

The small blue demon who had been leading the troop of mutants yelped as the flat side of the blade of light whacked into him, a hissing and a wisp of smoke lifted as it seemed to sear the creatures flesh on contact. Instantly it began shouting at them in demon speak and the flourishing of it's arms looked as if it was telling them all to do just as K'8 had ordered. When he finished his tirade he dropped down and groveled alongside D'mnchyld.
Looking from one to the next the other demons confusion grew to a moment where they all one after another took a knee. The last to do so was the largest, the leader of this band of roving sentries. He looked down on the little demon spawner with a wary eye before the weight of his indecision caused his confidence to fail him and he too bowed down before her. "What is thy bidding my Mistress?" he said not daring to look up from the dusty hot ground.

Thanks guys, here we go she thought and her voice sounded out loud and clear. "Well then at least I shall have ...uh," oh shit I dunno what to say, c'mon k'8 think- think demonic royalty "one less head on a platter. You half blind fools, stand and lead us in there....NOW!" She raised the lightsaber and pointed to the castle keep. Holding her head high and regal she began to walk straight ahead and placed a hand on the small blue demon's head shoving him over onto his face. "I will not stand out here any longer. Come you lot!" she said looking back at her friends and classmates, her eyes wide in a shocked look that showed her surprise at the fact that this was actually working.

Lorelai quietly listened to the others thoughts, using the distraction to keep from spilling her own mind. Though, what Miss Frost said worried her. What happens if we start fighting? I don't want to slow you down Cyclops, but we have to get out. You could just put me down somewhere.. but oh, god, Ian's there and...I don't know, she trailed off, trying to stop thinking to everyone. I don't want to be the cause of any more trouble, she thought gravely, feeling a pang she didn't want in her stomach as her eyes darted from her headmaster to her headmistress to everyone else as it was out in the open.
It was safe to say that she was scared now that they were going into the center of it all, and because she couldn't run or fight or defend herself she felt like she would be a hinderance on Cyclops' back, and now her getting scared wouldn't do anyone any good. Lorelai didn't want to show weakness either. She shook a little as she wished that they could just get out, but she knew it wouldn't be easy. It never was.

If I have a breath left in me I wont leave you. We leave NO ONE behind he thought to them all and then his mind flew back to -Guardian- he thought ...all my fault... It slipped out past his stern psyche. His guilt he couldn't contain any longer.
I am sorry students, I have a burden to bear with this and it is also a loss all of you will feel, but I promise you that we - Emma and Myself- will do our very best and that is all we can ask of anyone, so that is what we ask of you. he gently squeezed Frostbite's legs to let her know he had her and wasn't going to let go.

With the sound of Cyclops' voice in her head, Aideen stopped looking for the demon's weaknesses to feel his words hit her a bit harder than she expected. Not once letting her cold and emotionless demeanor, she allowed one thought that she would never allow others to hear if she could help it slip out. Sir, I am proud to have you and the Headmistress as leaders. Two people who do the best that they can to ensure our safety and don't give up even when it doesn't always work out is more than any of us could ask for. Many of us may have given up long ago without you both there. Not just while in Limbo either. It was rare that Aideen ever let any indication of her feelings be known to one person, let alone a whole group of people. At that moment she didn't regret it or feel embarrassed.
The demons with the small feathered scales are brittle boned. One sweep of that sword and they're done. Take out the wings from the ones that fly, since that's probably where most of their strength comes from. Stay away from the ones with the long talons, they're extremely sharp from the looks of it. I'll take those if I need to. Aideen didn't want to dwell on her little show of slight emotion and got right down to business. She had been able to remain harmless looking and calm the whole time they were walking, sticking to business like she was doing now. She was ready to move at Emma's and Cyclops' word.

Sean shuddered again and moved his hand to Kate's waist and rested his hand there for a moment. Good job Katie girl. Miss Emma, is there anything you're gonna want us to do? When he heard Aideen's voice in his head, actually sounding human for once as she addressed Cyclops. He was a little shocked that she lost her robotic demeanor for that one moment to address Cyclops and then went right back to business in the emotionless tone that he was used to.
Um, thanks Ember, I'll try to remember that. She is right though Cyclops sir, I was there. There was nothing you or any of us could have done and I think with all we went through, you protected us as best as you could. Thank you sir, he said in his head. Sean knew that it wasn't nearly as meaningful as Aideen's extremely rare display of emotion, but he was fond of Cyclops and didn't mind expressing it.

Wow, she actually has feelings? That's like totaly insane- i woulda never guessed- but yes, we have the best teachers around Ms Frost and Mr Summers you both have helped me personally more than either of my parents have in my whole life, and I've known you less than a week- and the best chance to get out of this is working together, all of us together Kevin was rolling thoughts out of his head with little pause between them again. Like a drum solo they would blather out and then pause only to get pounded out at them gain a second or more later.
He looked at the castle as they got right up to it and then thought Holy whoa- that thing is bigger than a whole city- sticking together right- I'm staying right by you Frostbite so don't worry- you're my best friend- i love you, I love her- I love evrybody here and I don't want anybody else to die- oh, god I miss Guardian- but I don't blame you anymore Cyclops, well maybe I do a little- oh that's awful, don't think that- I can't help it- ugh, shut up Kevin you're making it worse- don't cry now not in front of the demons- oh my GAWD that's a big door He looked up and up and up and the door just kept looming higher in the size of the humungous wall of the castle.
I don't care what you guys think of me I hope you all love me as much as I love you guys, but if not I'm still gonna do my best for each of you so don't worry. I'm sorry I thought you were rude before Ember, I didn't know you even had feellings. And I never meant to make anybody umconfortable being who I am, but if you are it's okay I guess, it's just who I am and who you are- we can't help how we feel. If this is our last moments together I want you guys all to know how cool I think you all are- exspecially you Loralai, and not because of your power but because you're willing to sacrifise yourself for our survival, so don't worry girl cause I wont let anything happen to you- and k'8? Please take care of Sean, he- well I think he's awesome too.

It was true that they had come to the castle and it was indeed huge. Emma couldn't help but feel a soft spot for Hardlight, sure he could be a bit much at times, but he had behaved like a hero here in this dimension. Hellish as it was the young man had certainly not let the Limbo realm get the better of him and he had been a real contributor to the little team of heroes she had counted herself fortunate enough to have wound up with. Who would have ever guessed the small frail Kevin Leonard would have stepped up to the plate, and time and again taken his swings at the pitches that had been throw his way. More than a few of them being curve balls.
It has been an honor and a privilege to be your teacher Kevin, she thought, as it has been to know each of you children. This is not our final stand, not by a long shot. We will do our best and we will get home. I know it's frightening, but lets just keep hope in our hearts and stay sharp.

At the head of the group of mutants K'8 stood looking up at the hight of the door. She held tightly to Sean's hand and the hilt of the sword that Hardlight had made. Around her were the rest of the students and their two teachers. They were preceded by the demons who had led them as the door, opened by the largest of the demon guards, creaked loudly on it's enormous hinges.
The mutants were heralded by the demons who had led them to the castle. The six demon guards had waved off the demon archers who stood atop the walls holding their weapons at the ready. They all passed through the guardroom just beyond the main gate of the keep and beyond it was the courtyard proper of the castle.
Oh, wow this place is like totally huge K'8 thought as she peered out into the courtyard from the guardroom. Stepping out carefully into the brightness of the courtyard, the heat again baking her even though the sky held no sun, her mind whirled in anticipation and horror. There was quite a ruckus ongoing at the far end of the courtyard on and around a huge stage. It was a bit bright yet to see detail but this was sure the place, the noise of the combat and screams of demons and howls mixed with clanking of metal and cackling laughter shook D'mnchyld to her very core. Now what!?! she thought and looked back at the group. Total confusion and uncertainty painted on her face.

Lorelai looked down at Cyclops' words. She should've known better that they wouldn't leave her. She felt him squeeze her legs gently and stopped shaking from the subtle reassurance. Unable to not look at Hardlight as he went on another mental rant, her eyes widened slightly at how he referred to her, and she was unable to hold it back. Best friend? But...how..why..? He almost died because of me- how am I- how could he call me his best friend? Uh, um, she mentally sputtered out, looking at him with a frozen expression. She didn't know how or why he felt that, or why he should consider her as such. Hardlight..how? she thought, and then tried to focus on the fact that they were actually getting to the door of this castle thing that was where the rest of them were.
She looked at the large doors, and shuddered slightly as they went through the threshold and approached the huge brawl of demons. Her eyes widened at it all, and then they darted around frantically to search Ian out. He's here somewhere, oh god, where? Please don't let him be dead, please, please, she thought as she looked toward the front. Her stomach tightened on her as she looked around for any sign she could recognize, and had a sharp intake of breath as she spotted him. If she could've screamed, she would've. He's there!!! The rest of them too! Oh, my god we need to get to them! Oh my god, oh god! she thought frantically, not even realizing that her body had started shivering in reaction to seeing Ian and the rest of them and the anticipation of getting to them. Her thoughts were a mess, all scattered and she tried to calm them down but it didn't really work. All she wanted was to get down there to him and to get out. We-we have to get down there some how I don't know carve a path or something just get down there and save them, she thought; it came out to the rest of them as a slur of words.

D'mnchyld, don't lose it now, just get us closer Cyclops thought Everyone we must keep our cool, there is already a fight happening, so get ready for combat. He shifted the weight of Frostbite on his back as they got a few steps closer to the conflict.
