In the pocket dimension of LIMBO, ruled by Belasco and once ruled by Illyana Rasputin- known to The X-Men as Magik... who was Colossus' little sister, the young mutants find themselves faced with the imminent battle before them. A small group has arrived at the castle where already a fight has broken out. Belasco hovering above the fray below has given his minions free reign to have fun for a moment before "The Mistress" doth arrive..... ((Ember, please start us off- if you would be introspective and help to set a tone I would be highly appreciative. I'll love you forever ;D ))

Aideen kept in the back of the group as her eyes scanned the the giant crowd. The demons by the stage seemed in a frenzy all crawling over each other to get on the stage. That a large demon flew over. Her dark eyes flew to the stage and her heart sped up. He's alive.... he's really alive... How can I ever face him? The moment her gaze fell on the stage to see Wolverine, she forgot herself completely. The guilt that had been eating up in her for being there and for not going back to help him was threatening to break through that wall. A whiff of another mix of foul demon smell got her back down and Aideen composed herself.
Excuse me Headmaster, Headmistress. I will compose myself from now on. Just say the word and I'm ready for anything. She was back into warrior mode, knowing that this wasn't a time for emotions. Good warriors know how to put those aside, and Aideen had to keep her emotions separate from her instructions.

Behind me to the front of me -duck -stab -slash... this can be totally futile, gotta get on top of it...get on top of them all. Wolverine had taken to doing what he does best and begun to cut his way through the horde of demons. It was not possible for him to make a dent even in the numbers but he was going to do his best.
"Kurt! You O.K.?" he called over to his friend. the two of them had been through quite a lot since coming into this dimension much without any knowledge of the fact that they'd been 'invited'. The truth was far from that they had been invited more to the point they had been abducted.
Abducted by Magneto for what purpose he could only fathom had he the time to devote to it, but presently time was not something he was worried about. Nor was they 'Why' of why he was there. Only the moment concerned him now. Only the visceral, the tangible, the present as it presented itself to him and all of his heightened senses. Then, at that very moment he smelled something- someone to be precise and his head snapped around to see the group of mutants being escorted into the courtyard. Not wanting to give the rest of them away he only kept his military bearing and kept right on fighting.
"Kitty!?? -you and the boy alright?" he called over.

Sean squeezed Kate's hand as he looked around nervously. His eyes went wide at the massive amount of demons around them. He recognized Ian and Miss Kitty on stage with a blue man with a tail and a very large fierce looking man fighting ferociously on stage. Oh man this ain't gonna be good... he thought just before he heard Aideen's voice ring in his head. She sounded so scared and... emotional that Sean couldn't help but glance back at her. It was just weird... even weirder than before but it seemed only him and Hardlight found it weird since no one else really paid attention. Sean did his best to keep his head silent.
Look! Ian and Miss Kitty. And those must be the two teachers everyone is talking about. Do we just wait and see what they'll do now that Katie's here? They all worship her, Sean thought in his head as he squeezed Katie's hand and brought her closer to him. He was worried for her but knew better than to think it clearly in his head and get her even more worried.

Oh you're right Sean! Kate thought, it was still startling to her that she was supposed to be worshiped or whatever here in LIMBO. I should try, should I try?- and get everybody to stop fighting, or something... right? Or what? she wondered. The sounds of her thoughts she set to ringing in the heads of the others as they gathered in a cluster at the entrance to the courtyard.
I mean really how long before they catch on that we're here? She wondered as they all moved out away from the gateway and guard room into the fullness of the open courtyard. It was a sight to behold. There were a thousand or more maybe even ten thousand demons around the stage at the far end of the open area. They were climbing atop one another to mount the stage and attack the X-Men and Diesel who stood bravely holding them at bay. What should I do? she asked in her mind hoping the others might have a plan.

"Kitty Teach careful with her!" Ian called as he scrambled up and punched one demon so hard his fist went through his jaw. "Aw gross man," he said as he shook his hand free of the slime. He saw another demon charge at Kitty, which got him into gear. It was just them two now and he wouldn't let anything happen to her. "That's not how you treat a chick man," Ian yelled as he brought his fist back and brought his fist forward with a massive amount of strength. For the second time since he got there, his fist glowed green as he brought it forward and impacted with the demon knocking it off the stage.
Ian looked at his fist as he punched a demon near him with his other with a satisfied smile. "Whoa I'm awesome!" he said with the first smile he had in what seemed like a long time. "We're hanging in there man, right Kitty Teach?" Ian called to Wolverine as he picked up a demon that jumped on his back and threw it at a group of others. The number of them just didn't get smaller. "Man why can't they all just spontaneously combust?" he growled.

Lorelai still shook with anticipation and fear while her mind continued racing, spewing out little mangled thoughts here and there. Hearing Ember think, her eyes flashed to her for a moment, but turned right back to the scene in front of them. All she wanted was to just try to run and get to Ian but she knew she couldn't, because she didn't have the strength and because she'd be ripped apart the second she took a step too far. When they all stepped out she got more jittery; they were so close, yet so far and she couldn't take it. Sorry, Cyclops, I-I can't help it I can't calm down. Um, um, um, she babbled, trying to think of a possible plan of action that could both distract her and help them out.
Um, eye beam thing? Wipe them out? Oh, god, diplomacy? Would it work? Do demons know it? Argh, we need to get there, help them, oh god, I'm no use I can't think straight, Lorelai mentally stuttered out. Thinking about it still didn't help. She lowered the hand she used to point them out and gripped her other hand around Cyclops' neck, squeezing her hands together so tightly that her knucles went white. She wished that she could scream, or call out Ian's name because she could see him easier, but she knew it wasn't the best idea. Letting out a breath, she looked to the ground so she could attempt to try to calm down, even though she knew herself better than that to know it wouldn't work, and she wouldn't be fine until they got over there.

Oh shoot it's hot, that guadroom was cooler can we just go and wait there? oh, no I'm sorry not that I just was enjoying it too much, but there they are! Oh god they are totally fighting for their lives! we gotta get them NOW he thought in a mash of swirling overlayed Keviny voices in everybody's head.
I think we should get a little closer but I'm not sure cause this demon next to me is starting to look jittery, uh guys- lookit him! he's like almost in a panick! Cyclops, I think Frostbite's right SHOOT THEM- shott them NOW! the sound in their heads of his voice was wildly scaredly and a bit of a panick it inself. Looking around he made eye contact with Frostbite and then Ember, he trusted them most of all from the time he had spent so far in Limbo with the two girls.

Squared off against Shadowkat, Haven was not going to give any quarter. She could hear the sound of her own blood pumping in her head and feel the throb of power behind her eyes. It was as if she was loosing any remaining shred of herself and she was so ready to embrace the nothingness of her newfound life, a death of sorts but more. It was a giving up of all the pain she had known in her pitiful time alive.
Shuttled from foster home to foster home, beaten and abused for so long. It was only with the emergence of her mutant gift that she found any peace, but then that caused her a pain of it's own. The burden of being a mutant lumped on top of all she had already faced was cause enough for her to want to die, or give up being herself. To give up her life of ultimate heartache and abuse. Even when she had sought out a place where she could let loose, the time she had spent with The Brotherhood, she was not at peace.
There she was beaten and trained to make he a weapon, taught to unleash her anger. Trained to be compliant and made to be subservient to them all. She hated it there too, she loved the ruthlessness of it yes, but hated the fact that she was treated as 'less than'. She was treated worse there than anywhere, except when she did happen to shine in combat training. Most evenings though she was raped by Sabertooth as her room had a dampening field much like the cell she had been kept in at the mansion after she had caved in on her resolve and told of the bombs she had planted.
There was only two people, who had ever treated her kindly...only two....she tried for a second to remember their faces, but she couldn't. The thumping of her pounding heart in her ears and the pressure behind her eyes made it nearly impossible to see anything but the woman who stood before her and Haven knew she would have to kill her if she was to gain favor here. It was how things went for her, it was the pattern. She rushed at Shadowkat, tucking into a ball and rolling then springing up with a mega uppercut - both hands under the X-Man's chin, encased in her forcefield the strike was designed to land deceptively sooner than expected. On contact Haven realized that Sabertooth's teachings weren't all bad, she did still hate him though.

"We're as good as you get in Hell!" Shadowkat called back to Wolverine as she flexed her shoulder in the second that Haven got knocked back. Turning to Diesel as he told her to be careful with Haven, she shook her head slightly. "She can take a hit, don't worry about her," she answered, looking at him for a split second before she came at her, her head shooting up after the forceful uppercut. She staggered back a step with a gasp, flexing her neck to regain herself.
She swung forward her steel toed boot and kicked at Haven's knee. Of course it didn't cut it through her forcefield, but it was still her target and as it locked she kicked the other, rendering her legs useless temporarily as Shadowkat moved quickly dancing around her to push her over the edge of the stage and into the oncoming swarm of demons. More demons came at her, and she punched them back, and kicked them back into the crowd over Haven. Taking the opportunity to look past the crowd of demons while still on her guard and punching them back, she saw that the other X-Men and the students were there, in the far end of the courtyard. "They're here," she breathed, and then took her attention away to resume fighting back the demons, wishing she had her sword again.

"Ack! Zhis child is dying!" Kurt cried out after teleporting to Elixir and kicking away an approaching demon. Must get her avay from zhem, higher ground he thought looking around and seeing the tops of the pillars which he and Wolverine had been bound to. It vill have to do he slid his arms gently under the girl and lifted her slightly as he teleported ~BAMF~ ............................................ to the top of one of the sandstone pillars. Using his knowledge of medical triage, he examined her wounds and tried to stop the bleeding.Applying pressure he managed to stop her losing any more blood but she was hardly mobile. He feared that even teleporting once again would be far more than her system could handle. He waited with her until her eye flickered open, fighting off the flying demons when they approached. Seeing her beginning to come to, he knelt down and spoke to her. "Young lady you have been voonded very badly, you must not move. Not yet. I vill stay viss you, I vill protect you." He kept an ever vigilent eye for any approaching enemies and was wary of Belasco who had a clear view of them, but he didn't have much choice for a safe place to tend to Elixir. "Ve may have to go at any moment, but for now just remain still."

Sara was in so much pain that she was unable to scream, she just moaned softly. She tried to open her eyes. And to her shock she did not see a thing. The hordes of demons who had feasted on her, had stuck their long, filthy fingernails into her eyes, gouging them out so only a putrid mix of blood and tears came streaming out. The pain from her eye sockets was unbelievable, yet the pain from everywhere else was also so unbearable that it was hard to localize what she was feeling. However, somehow in the delirium of her mind she realized that she was blind, and that got through to her, terrifying her. She half whimpered half screamed to the teacher, "I can't stand the pain and I can't see. Am I dying? I don't want to die. Please, don't let me die." And as she waited for him to respond all she could think of was how if she died there would be nobody to care for Amos and even if she lived how she would care for him and protect herself without ever being able to see again.

Having satisfied herself that she had calmed the frantic mind of Hardlight until his latest episode, Emma looked at Scott and rolled her eyes. That boy was more than a drama queen he was a drama goddess. There was one amongst them that she knew she could count on no matter what the situation, one who stood above the rest especially here in a dimension that was a custom fit. Emma felt bad that she hadn't taken the opportunity to address that, to let that fact be known.
Emma stopped walking and let the group move forward. Turning to look at Ember as she walked up, the thoughts she had heard from the young fire-bender still ringing in her mind. The tortured and locked away emotions, Emma knew the girls past to a point, knew those emotions were crushed down inside of her. A product of the "training" her uncle had hammered into the girl from so early an age. It made her a sharp edged blade indeed, but it had taken so much from her, she had used that sharpness to sever the link to her own heart. It was tragic, but Emma did not pity her for she had done the same to herself in not so surgical a manner.
Still though the sound of Embers slip of the mind brought a pulling feeling, a yearning to acknowledge her, to let her know she was not forgotten in the midsts of all that was going on. *Two people who do the best that they can to ensure our safety and don't give up even when it doesn't always work out is more than any of us could ask for. Many of us may have given up long ago without you both there. Not just while in Limbo either.* Standing in front of her as she walked up Emma stopped her in her tracks, gently placed a hand under the girl's chin and smiled at her.
Looking into her eyes she spoke into the girl's mind alone, no other would hear it and said ~* Ember, without you here it's doubtful that we would have lasted this long, I owe you a great deal of thanks. I wish things were different for you, I wish that for many of my kids, but you most of all. I knew of you from a man who had watched you as you grew up, he had told me of you years before your mutant power ever emerged. I have had my eye on you longer than you realize and I am proud to know you. I'm glad to have you here with me, and sorry at the same time because you have such a burden to bear. It doesn't have to be so, you don't have to carry all that weight on yourself. I am grateful you do at times, but I fell I have let you down, like I have allowed you to carry more than your fair share. Yes, it been said that with great power comes great responsibility, but sometimes it's o.k. to be a kid. If you can be a warrior for just a little longer I promise you that you can be a kid again, or 'for the first time' I think would be a better choice of words. *~
~* I see much of myself in you Aideen, and it worries me. I know what I grew up to be, and all the pain I brought myself and the world. I hope I can be more for you, a better role model, a better friend and a better person than my past would dictate. I have all the best intentions in my heart, but I sometimes slip into my old ways. I pledge to you here and now, should we survive and get home I will make our lives better. At the school, and in the world for each and every one of us. I'll do my best, for you and every mutant - every person who needs help. I want to live up to your expectations, and my own. *~ She took a long moment to look the girl over before placing a single kiss on her forehead. Emma knew the compliments that Ember had let slip were from deep within and she right now hardly felt worthy to receive them. She hoped though that she could live up to them, she would hold to her pledge. Things would be different once they got home, Emma would see to that.
Glancing over her shoulder she saw the group had moved well past them and were about to find themselves in trouble. From the vantage point that she and Ember shared they could both tell that the young mutants and Cyclops were discovered. Demons were moving in on them from all directions, not yet in any fighting stances, but with looks of confusion and curiosity.

Scott saw the look of dismay and frustration on Emma's face as she stopped walking and he continued on with the children. It was his place to keep going, it was always his place to keep going even when everyone and everything he loved and cared for had been taken, killed, and corrupted. He was a survivor, like Wolverine, but even more so. Whereas Logan had little choice but to keep on going, his healing factor giving him only one option, Cyclops kept going by sheer strength of character. Stoically he pressed forward, his body wracked with pain, his mind filled with impending decisions to make, and his spirit burdened with the responsibility he had accepted long ago- to lead.
He took his role very seriously and never let anyone get too close to him. He couldn't afford to have his heart in the way. Mixing tactics, with judgments and emotions was rarely a good combination, that was more times than not a recipe for failure. He had learned that the hard way. He stole a look back to see Emma and Ember standing together and he knew she would say what he could never say. His mind wasn't meant for tenderness, sure he had his moments, but in the middle of a combat zone was not the time or place.
Emma was better suited to speak words of the heart, at least right at this moment he believed. His words would have to be commanding, his slip about Guardian was a mistake, he couldn't show weakness now. The children needed a strong leader. He would choose his thoughts carefully from now on. I know you are all scared but pretend this is only practice, think that we are in the Danger Room. We practice hard so that when it's time for the real thing we are ready. This is why your Team-Leaders are so hard on you at times. I know you all can handle this I have faith in each of you. Hardlight, relax son. TuneUp I thank you, and I'm counting on you with that device so do your best - it may be our only hope in about five minutes, so get ready. Frostbite you are right, demonic diplomacy does not exist - have you ever heard of a 'good' deal with the devil? He looked back again to see Emma looking at the group, the concern on her face was more than an indication that they had taken this 'free ride' as far as it would go.
Everyone get ready I think it's time we play our hand, but we'll keep our ace hidden up our sleeve.... so Ember- wait for the right time to unleash your power, YOU are that Ace. Emma we need to let them know we're here, I believe Kitty saw us but hasn't let on yet. D'mnchyld it's time to get their attention we are yards from the stage and this sea of demons needs to part for us to get to that stage- let them know their Mistress is here. TuneUp when we get on the stage you have to get a portal open for us, what do you need to get that thing to work? He bounced Frostbite slightly on his back and turned his head to whisper to her "Hang in there Frostbite, with any luck we'll be home soon."
