Ricki made sure no one was looking as she made her way to Dante and Sean's bedroom. Ricki knew that girls and guys weren't exactly allowed to be in each other's bedrooms, but seeing most of the teachers were at breakfast at the moment, she highly doubted that she'd be caught. After roughly a minute or two, Ricki came to a halt outside a door which she'd learnt to be Dante's room. Dante'd told her who he was sharing his room with, and where it was the previous night, so Ricki was just hoping that she'd remembered everything, and come to the right place.
Being Ricki Day, the first thing the blonde did was knock on the door- it was only polite right? Her parents had always taught her to knock before she entered, and everyone in her house had always done the same for everyone, no matter who. It'd taken her a while to get accustomed to people just barging into each other's rooms here at school- she was used to people now coming and going in out of her room whenever they pleased, but she just wasn't used to entering others' without knocking yet. She tried once, twice, thrice - but when nobody answered she sighed, and frowned at the door. Should I open it...? Erm... well... he might be sleeping... or he might not... or it might not even be his room... erm... but i think it is. Ricki took in a deep breath, before pushing the door open, lucky for her she'd got the right room, though unlucky for her Dante was asleep.
She stood with her hand on the doorknob, debating on whether or not to wake him up, and ended up deciding that she should. May as well, nearly everyone else is awake, and plus it's not healthy to skip breakfast! She rolled her eyes, shutting the door behind her as she moved forwards, before bending a bit to look at Dante. She moved two fingers forward, and nudged his back, giving his back a similar look she'd been giving the beer bottle- the cautious look, that gave an onlooker the impression that Ricki thought Dante's back might just end up biting her. When nothing happened Ricki rolled her eyes- he probably didn't even feel her nudge seeing it was so light. She used both her hands this time to shake his shoulder and arm. "Yooo-hooo! Dante! Rise and shine Sloan! It's morning!"

By then end of the night, Dante had loosened up from the constant flow of beer and was able to relax with the new group. Everyone seemed cautious enough around him, and he was cool with that, even found himself looking at this place a bit more differently frankly he was surprised that he didn't get into some kind of trouble yet, but Dante knew it was only a matter of time before he mouthed off the a teacher or got restless with someone or something. Now he only had to get over the suspicious feeling he had about majority of the people there, but that would come in time once he knew what to expect from them.
After a late night of drinking, all Dante wanted to do was sleep half the day away. His roommate was an okay guy, a regular cowboy, and was cool enough not to wake him when he got up. To his surprise, he was woken by a voice that sounded too cheery to be human at this early in the morning. A groan left Dante when he looked up to see Ricki looking incredibly cheerful. "Go choke yourself Mary Sunshine, it's too god damn early," he groaned out and put the pillow over his head.
He was never a morning person, and couldn't understand for the life of him how everyone could be so damn cheerful in the morning. A dreaded thought came into his head that told him this probably wouldn't phase her in the least bit. As a result, he held the pillow tighter over his head.

Ricki sighed, she hadn't exactly been expecting Dante to wake up immediately, but his response did shock her a bit, Ricki hadn't seen the 'annoyed' side of Dante yet, and she had the vaguest incline that she was gonna see that side now- but being Ricki Day, she rolled her eyes and nudged the guy once more. "Well you're nice aren't you?" She knelt down on the floor and poked his arm again. "But see, you're lucky, I don't get offended. Anyway - it's ten! It's not that early! Plus you need to grab some breakfast too!" She huffed, she doubted the guy was going to wake up just by her nagging him.
She kept her eyes fixed on him for a moment, before grabbing his covers and pulling them off. "Dante! Wak-" she cut off in mid sentence as her eyes popped wide in their sockets. Dante's bare back was the first thing that caught her eyes, and then the various tattoos that embraced his body slowly started to make their impact on Ricki. "- uh - wow!" Her voice was hushed down to a whisper as she stared shamelessly at his back. It took her a moment, or perhaps two, or perhaps even several sunlit days to snap back to reality. What are you doing Ricki Day? Stop staring at the guy's back!
She hadn't realized, but her lips had parted on their own accord and she probably looked like some form of baffled fool. She hurried to shut her mouth before blinking, sighing, rolling her eyes and jumping onto his bed and dropping on his back. The tattoo's still amazed her, but she tried to keep her eyes off them and stared at the wall in front of her instead. "I'm an annoying acolyte who won't go until you're up, so wakey wakey!"

A groan escaped from Dante when she took his covers away, but it did nothing to get rid of the smirk on his face. He heard the hitch in her breath when she pulled the covers off, and his more cocky nature came out in full. Back at home, he never had a set broad, the last one he had two-timed him while he was in the cooler for a couple of months and though he was guilty of going back to her a couple of time, he eventually took his Pop's old ring from her and left it on the outs while he had his fun with some of the gang's girls. His ego always came out when he heard saw the effect he had on women.
Reaching behind him with one arm, Dante grabbed a hold of Ricki's hip and lurched her forward in front of him, pushing himself up to maneuver her in front of him. He had an arm around her waist and laid his head on her stomach, holding her like a pillow. "Listen here Dolly, you take away a guy's pillow when he ain't ready to give it up you better be damn ready to replace it," Dante muttered into her stomach, laying his head comfortably.
He peaked over at the wall clock and closed his eyes again with an irritated groan. "We got in last night at 5, I don't live off five hours of sleep. When you live like mushroom people ya gotta get all the sleep you need. Ya dig Dolly?" Dante stopped talking then and stood still, holding her down while taking the few minutes he had to try and snooze a little bit.

"M-mushroom people?" Ricki muttered weakly, blowing strands of her hair off her face as she gave up on flapping her legs as if she were drowning. Whatever the hell Ricki was expecting Dante to do to her for sitting on his back, it certainly wasn't this. Oh perfect. I'm a pillow. Oh christ, don't look at his back, don't, don't don't... Ricki kept her eyes to the ceiling as she tried to gain some control over her mind. No one could deny that Dante was downright hot, and that was when they'd seen him with his clothes on. Right now, Ricki was just having a really hard time to resist looking at his muscular torso that was in direct contact with her body right now. His arm around her waist was just making her heart-rate increase by the second.
Ricki sighed, Keep your mind off him... off him... off him.. She placed both her hands on whatever part of Dante's upper-body that she could touch and tried to pull herself out of his grip, but gave up seeing she just wasn't strong enough. "Oh hell! Ow, ow! Dantee, you're squiiiissshiing me! Ow! Eurgh! Danteeee!" she sighed and started flapping her legs again, letting out a good couple of fake cries. "This is not fair!" she complained, exhaling loudly in defeat. "URGH! It's just not fair! Y'know- what's a girl supposed to do when a hot guy has her squished underneath him as his pillow, and she's just trying so hard not to stare at his back and his neck and his hair and... and... oh jesus chris what am I saying? I really should shut up, i'm making no sense!"
She groaned her legs still flappign wildly as she went back to trying to wiggle her way out of Dante's hold. "Fine, Fine, FINE! You can sleep for as long as you want- just pleaseeeeee let me goo?!" She muttered helplessly at the ceiling, "Pleaseeee?" she sighed for what must've been the hundreth time. She wasn't really gonna give up on waking him up, but she couldn't really do much stuck here as his pillow.

There was a big smirk on his face at this point, but despite that he did loosen up his grip a bit. "You're supposed to be rubbery ain't ya? C'mon girly you shoulda used your head, or at least stretched out to make it more comfortable for me," he said with a smirk, his ego close to being as large as it was back home. He was amused by her outburst, and thought it was in it's own way kind of cute, but he doesn't go soft for any chick. Dante sat up a bit and grabbed his blanket and pillow, letting out a yawn. Five hours of sleep was just sinful in his eyes, and he intended to get more of it.
"Now scram Dolly, I'm tired. I want at least another hour of sleep and I ain't losing it." He threw himself back on the bed and laid on his stomach, draping the sheet over himself and yawning again. Moving to the edge of the bed, he moved to the side and promptly made himself comfortable, glancing at Ricki through half lidded eyes. "Later Mary Sunshine," Dante said with a slight smirk at the little name, but it wasn't with malice. He liked her, she was growing on him more and more. It showed, cause had it been anyone else he would have personally thrown them out or throw something at them. He may not have been going soft, but it can't hurt to like some people here already.

"You're funny- I didn't go through all of that to give up on waking you up." Ricki muttered rolling her eyes as she straightened herself up a bit and stuck her tongue out at Dante, unaware of whether he'd seen her or not.
"This pillow-human thing right here- which for the record is me incase you're too sleepy to work it out- is annoying and evil, and she won't rest until you're up." Ricki huffed, - it was true. She'd just been turned into a pillow- revenge was in order. She wasn't giving up; nuh-uh, nope. "Go to sleep early today- or sleep during the barbecue! Though ha- I doubt you can, the food is too amazing to resist, eh either way, my point was what? Oh yeah- Mary Sunshine is annoying! Wakeeeyyyyy!" She grabbed his blanket again and pulled it back off, readying herself this time so she didn't have some form of outrageous reaction- though, she had to admit- her heart did skip a beat at the sight of his back. Oh jeez- I never thought tattoo's would do this to me, here I was thinking tattoos were over-rated. Gosh, they're hot.
"Aaaaaaaaaanddd," she added, popping herself down on the side of his bed, holding onto the side of his bed incase her decided to kick her off or something. "- I would have stretched myself out, but then all my clothes would've torn. Even when the t-shirts say "Extra-stretch" they never really turn out to be true. Eh- inconvenient right? I mean, I didn't really want to go walking out of your room with all my clothes ripped up- that's just majorly... wrong. Oh jeezus, i'm rambling again," She rolled her eyes sighing, as she kept her eyes fixed on his face, trying to stop them from wandering down to his back... "UGH, just wake up! Or you're gonna have to listen to me ramble on about all this rubbish that you don't care about." She sighed, "Plus, you promised- you'll teach me poker! Pssh, C'mooonnnn! I'm not leaving until you're up- I don't care if I have to sit right here and ramble on for an hour, or two, or a day, or whatever- 'cause trust me- I can, you know I can."

A groan escaped him again, turning his head to face away from her. Ricki was stubborn, he'd give her that, but he was stubborn too. When he wanted sleep damn it and he would get it, and there was nothing that would deter him from that. "You're really starting to piss me off, so here's the deal." Dante slung his arm around her waist and pulled her down beside him. He was just not having it, and wanted the sleep that he was rightfully due. He was tired, still not used to the fact that he wasn't in the cooler right then, and not totally comfortable in this new place. It took a toll on him, and it made him want that sleep all the more.
"Since you ain't leaving, you can stay and take a nap for an hour or so, or I'll make you sleep. Ya dig Dolly?" Dante growled out and reached to take his blanket back. Sleep called to him and his mind was not ready to give in to the living world. He shifted a little just to settle down, not preparing to get out of his position. I can't believe anyone this girl can talk so much. Screw this, sleep calls, he thought as he let himself get back to sleep, determined to not let Ricki keep him from sleep.

Ricki stayed quiet for roughly thirty seconds, steadying her breathing since she'd been caught totally off guard as Dante'd changed her position. She turned her head a bit to catch a glimpse of Dante's face, before hurrying to look away again. "You know... you can't really make me sleep unless you like force me to take sleeping pills or something- and somehow I really doubt that." she whispered in a timid voice. She knew she was annoying Dante a bit, but truth be told if he really wanted her to just... sod off or something, she'd know it- right? She knew she was pushing him a bit far, but right now waking him up had become a sort of has-to-be-done thing inside her head.
She sighed, she wasn't going to stay laying down here for an hour. That was just a waste of time- she could've been practising her guitar... or checking her email... or sitting with Ivy... or... or... or like helping Leah with her homework! Somehow since Ricki'd last spoken to Leah, she didn't seem to mind the girl so much. Leah was really trying to make an effort, and Ricki appreciated that- and she of all knew how much it meant to get a second chance. If people had just left her alone after Torri had been moved to the Alpha Squadron, Ricki couldn't even imagine how lonely she would've felt.
She sat up on the bed- and turned herself to look at Dante, crossing her legs in process. She placed both her arms on his body and attempted to shake him awake- taking his blanket away from him just wasn't working and she just couldn't be bothered pulling it off again. "Y'know, I don't have to be here waking you up, I could be doing like sooo many other things right now, but i'm stubborn, and the more you resist, the more i'm gonna annoy you and wake you up, so don't you think it'd be easier to just like... wake up? I mean, it's not that bad. If you have the strength to pick me up like twice, i'm sure you can like stand on your two feet and walk in a straight line. If you can't, well- you're not the only one. You shoulda seen Lian, she's pretty hungover too- but eh, you're not hungover are you? No, you're just sleepy- but I mean, you can't really be sleepy when you've had me pestering you for goodness knows how long. Haven't I killed your sleep yet? Huh? No- like - seriously, haven't I?"

A groan escaped from Dante when he realized that this girl had absolutely no 'off' button. "For f***s sake girl, you need a god damn sedative!" he grumbled pushing her off the bed as he jerked up and grabbed a towel from the ground. "And don't gimme that smug look, I was ready to get up anyways," he retorted as he headed to the bathroom without another word. It bugged him that this girl didn't take a hint, more so that she wasn't afraid of him or wary of him. Back at home he was used to it and preferred it. Hell even here as cool as some go the chicks were he still caught them giving him wary looks or watching themselves around him. This one though just didn't seem to give a damn.
And as Dante took a hot shower, he was deciding if that was a good thing or not. He didn't care for change and he didn't know how much he was liking this new crowd of people he was forced to deal with. With a sigh, he put the thoughts out of his mind while finishing his shower. Dante left the shower with a towel wrapped around his waist, not really showing any concern for modesty or the comfort level of Ricki. "You wanna learn cards, you're gonna learn cards. I'm showing you what to do and telling you the rules, and then you're on your own. Ya dig?" he said while changing into a pair of jeans and t-shirt.
After pulling on his boots, Dante rummaged through his bag until he found his deck of cards. "Ok rules are simple. Five cards to a player, Aces high, twos are low," he said going over to open the window. He sat at the little table by the window and took the cards out of the pack and shuffled them. "Each player puts in a bid if they want, and from there... well whattaya waiting for, sit your butt in the chair I'm showing you how to play," he barked, glaring at her as she got in the seat. Dante took an ashtray out of bag and placed it by the window. "Ok so there are a couple of sequences that are gonna win ya the game. It's all on bluffing." He dealt the cards to the two of them and pulled out a cigarette, lighting up as he went on to explain to her the Royal Flush, Full House, a Straight... etc.
The next hour went by with Dante showing Ricki how to play Poker, more than once in awhile pointing out in his gruff voice that her face was giving her away. "If someone knows your next move, they ain't gonna shell out any money. You gotta keep your face neutral," he would say to her. He wasn't a bad teacher, he knew the game well. His fault was that he didn't explain to her in detail how everything works, letting her learn from experience. "Alright girly, last round. I'll see your three chips, and raise ya four," he said placing the Doritos on the table and flicking the ash from his cigarette into the ash tray.

Ricki coughed for what must've been the hundreth time. She tried to keep her face away from the cigerette, but hell she could've sworn the smoke came hunting for her. I think i'm allergic.
Her mind was literally everywhere at the moment. She was trying to concentrate on the game, the same time as trying to remember all the rules to make sure she didn't make any mistakes and trying to keep Dante in his towel from flashing continuously in her head and trying her best not to inhale too much smoke because she really did not want lung cancer. Her hand was lingering casually over her nose and mouth as she eyed her cards trying to see if there was any scope of winning, when it just went too far. She just really could not stand the smoke anymore.
She sighed and clapped her cards on the table in a manner that the opposition may have easily thought she had some seriously dreadful cards and she was folding out of frustration, but in truth, Ricki just wasn't having Dante smoking while sitting right opposite her anymore. She grabbed his cigerette from his hand faster than he could've possibly guessed and stumped the thing out in the ash tray, leaving it to lay there. "Ugh!" she muttered wiping her hands on her jeans, before looking back up to see Dante.
"Right, i've pissed you off enough today, one more little thing wont hurt... will it?" Her voice had her over-used annoying innocence to it. Her eyes locked with his for a moment, and that was more than enough to have her rambling. "See, the deal is, I think I may just be allergic to smoke- I'm not even kidding, plus, even if I'm not really allergic, I really don't want lung cancer, and well, see- asking nicely with you, it doesn't really work- you know that as well as I do. I'm sure even if I was groveling on my knees or something, you wouldn't have put it out- so I figured, uh I'd save our time, and my groveling, and just... put it out?" She smiled her angelic smile again, attempting a cute puppy dog face.
"I'll... give you cookies in return?" she added feebly, "Or d'you prefer custard cremes? 'Cause I got some of them in my room as well." Okay, lets face it, there was no end to her random comments. She sighed, unlocking her gaze from his eyes, feeling a teensie bit scared. She knew she was pushing the limits... like... a lot, but well- she'd gotten away with it so far hadn't she? Her eyes froze on his bare chest as a vague flickering image of Dante in his towel reformed in her mind, and some more butterflies made their presence known in her stomach, as she tried to gain control over those ickle little creatures.
"Ermm... I call." she added, risking a quick glance in Dante's direction as she carefully moved 7 chips forwards.

I shoulda paralyzed the broad when I had the chance, Dante thought glaring hard at the girl across the table from him. She was getting under his skin, and taking his cigarette out like that... NO ONE ever took a cigarette from him. He once punched a guy in the nose so hard that it actually moved an inch to the side when he stole a pack from him. What was pissing him off is that as tempted he was to give her one right to the face, he knew he wasn't going to, and what was worse, he had a feeling she knew it too. Dante's mom taught him better that to hit a girl, but that never stopped him from setting them straight when it was needed before. There were ways to do it without laying a finger on the girl, but even that he wouldn't do.
"You do that again girly, and we're gonna have a problem," Dante said dumping the contents of his ashtray out the window. With the window wide open, he knew that the smell was a minimal at best so it shouldn't bother her. "Alright, I'll call your bluff then." He placed his cards down. "I got a full house, three Jacks and a double five. Beat that Stretch." Dante leaned back in the chair and smirked, reaching over to get take a handful of the pretzels that they dubbed neutral.
Despite the fact that she just put out his cigarette, he had been enjoying himself. She wasn't totally annoying, easy on the eyes at least, and he didn't have to explain the rules of poker to her more than once. When put to the test though, Ricki was a quick learner and not a bad card player. Now all she had to do was work on controlling her facial expressions, cause as of now he read her like a book.

A dramatic sigh escaped Ricki as she placed her cards on the table, "I know i'll beat you someday," she said as she looked from her cards to Dante, "Guess today's just not it, huh?" She rolled her eyes at herself. "I got a trio of the three's." Ricki had the gist of the game, but she still didn't have the correct frame of mind to play it. She was playing more for the fun of it rather than with the ambition to win at the moment- but she guessed the 'competitiveness' would only come once she played a few more times, perhaps with different people too- but either way, even though she'd lost just about every game that they'd played, she was enjoying herself.
Now that Ricki checked the time, she was surprised to see that over an hour had gone by since she'd bombarded poor Dante's room and stolen his sleep from him. She pushed her cards towards the deck and stretched her hands out in front of her before interlocking her fingers and dropping them on the table. "Y'know," she started rather randomly tilting her head to one side as her eyes found Dante's face again. "I never did understand why people smoke." she mused trying to think of possible reasons to why people would possibly smoke that stuff. "I mean, really, aren't there better things to get addicted to? And gosh, those people who say it that they smoke 'cause of stress. That just annoys me, I mean, there are so many other things out there to help you relieve stress! Music... Books... Movies... Hell, even me - I mean, I'm annoying and all, but I can sure as hell distract people quite well. Eh, I tend to distract myself so often." she rolled her eyes again.
She didn't mind voicing her thoughts out in front of Dante. For some reason she felt a lot more... comfortable around the guy despite the sort of intimidating aura that surrounded him. Not that she wasn't comfortable around the others- but she still felt like she was trying to fit in with them. Maybe it was just 'cause of her whole phase with being too involved with Torri, but either way, somehow being around the new kid, made her feel more at 'home'. "Alriiightt. Hm, what d'you wanna do now? I don't think I can handle loosing to a tuff hot guy anymore." She stuck her tongue out at Dante playfully, giggles underlining her words neatly. "Hmm... you want me to leave you alone for a while? I've been quite a pest, haven't I?" she rolled her eyes, "Or I could just hang around and keep you company by rambling, or you could tell me more about yourself mystery guy. Don't get me wrong, all the mystery stuff's hot - oh wait, ignore I said that - Uh right yes.. what was I saying? Oh yeah, I've practically told you my life story." She rolled her eyes, "So y'know, incase you feel like talking, I don't mind listening. I mean, I know a talk a lot, but I've been told I'm a decent listener when I wanna be."
She shrugged, as she got up from the chair she'd been sitting in for the past hour and stretched her leg muscles a bit. Her legs'd fallen asleep seeing she'd been sitting on one of legs for an hour. "Oooorr! We could get out of this room and see what everyone else is upto. I bet you'd want to get to know peoplee... or maybe not. Ah whatever, upto youuu. Chooooose. I'm up for anything... except loosing another game of Poker. Hmm, maybe we can try again tomorrow or something, maybe a day worth of rest'll somehow magically transport some form of skill into my head or something." She rolled her eyes for what must've been the hundreth time, before jumping on the spot a couple of times and placing her hands on her hips. "So Sloan, what's it gonna be?" She attempted the most mature, serious voice that she could deliver, but it wasn't all that impressive truth be told. She ended up giggling at her failed attempt, and shook her head at herself.

Without saying a word, Dante gathered the cards and stayed quiet while he let her ramble on. He shuffled the cards with expert ease, both the weave shuffle and the pivot shuffle, all the while wondering if a way to shut the girl up even existed. He never met someone who could talk the way this girl could, and it didn't look like she'd ever run outta words. "There's some kinda cookout today yea? Well I ain't waiting that long for food. I'm going to grab some chow," Dante said standing up and going to the half open drawer of his dresser and pulled out a white wifebeater, pulling it on.
"You learn how to not give away your every move by grinning like a lunatic or looking like you lost your puppy at every hand, than maybe you'll make a good card player yet," he said grabbing his jacket from the hanger on the door. "C'mon girly, I ain't leavin' you in my room. Out." His head moved in the direction outside the door and he held it open for her, shutting it firmly behind him when she was out.
He allowed her to keep running her mouth and talk nonstop about whatever came to her mind, once in a while giving a very brief response. The whole mansion seemed to be alive then, and even from the kitchen the noise outside even made Dante raise an eyebrow. While they were in the kitchen, and Dante had eaten his share of food, a whole wave of people came in, many of them covered in dirt and drenched with sweat, all talking about the cookout. He had never been to a cookout before and didn't know what it was supposed to be like exactly but it looked like he would find out soon enough.
