Ian couldn't help but grin when he looked down at Torri. He liked that she had more confidence now that she was with the Alphas and she wasn't as scared of him like her once was. He always liked her, and always thought that she was a really cute kid when she wasn't hiding behind Ricki. "Aw you know we can hang out anytime lil' babe," he said ruffling her hair gently. Ian had a big grin on his face now that she wasn't so scared of him and actually wanted to hang out with him.
"Things with me and Frostbite, well ain't gonna lie to ya kiddo, it's not the best. I still don't get what I did to get her to act like that, but too much has happened at this point. And you know I care 'bout ya, and Ricki, and I really like Liv too, she seems mad chill. I don't wanna drag any of you into it, cause it's bad enough now. Ya dig Torri?" He gave her a half hearted smile at the whole thing, longing for the way things once were, but at this point realistic enough to know it won't go there.
"Tell you what. why don't you go get some breakfast, and you know snacks, and come chill with me and Gavin in the library and do homework with us. You could probably even help us with some stuff. Sound cool?" Ian grinned at her and shifted his towel on his shoulder. He was excited that Torri was finally becoming his friend, and he didn't want to pass up the chance to get to hang out with her, and Gavin adored her too so it would be awesome.

Lorelai let out a resigned sigh, biting her lip again as she stared at the ground. Everyone just cleared out, with the exception of Lian, who just walked in; Lorelai regarded her with the slightest nod, going along with it. Torri ran off, and Ricki left too, but at least it didn't seem like she left because of her. She lifted her head to look at Liv and grimaced. "Yeah...it's a newly acquired power. I kinda earned it, after all. I just hope I can get rid of it," she said somewhat bitterly, feeling like they all hated her, even though she didn't really think that Torri and Ricki did. "So there's stuff you're missing. I assume you wanna know, right? Let me give you the short version here, and the longer version later," she said, tucking a lock of hair behind her ear so that her hood helped keep it out of her face before lightly placing a hand on Liv's arm to move her over to a corner of the kitchen so she didn't feel so awkward talking in front of a teammate she had no doubt didn't like her.
"Once upon a time, Lorelai had some messed up stuff happen before she came to this school. Then she comes to this school and meets him," she said in a somewhat low and sarcastic sounding voice, pointing in the direction of the door, indicating Ian. "It was supposta mean nothing, but they went out for a little bit, and then..." she paused, wondering how much she really wanted to say in front of Lian, even if she couldn't hear it. "Anyway..Haven came into the picture and messed stuff up. Lorelai let him go cause she thought it would be better for her. It wasn't, so she went all extra bitter, and that's what caused that whole thing," she said, raising her eyebrows slightly so Liv figured out what she meant. She didn't want to have to retell the whole Rumble thing again. "The end. I'm not proud of what I've done, and I wanna fix it. I did give you an idea what you were getting yourself into, so now you sort of know why he just up and left like that," she said with a humorless laugh.
She crossed her arms protectively over her chest and leaned against the wall, looking off to the side away from Liv so she didn't have to see the facial expression her new friend would make at hearing the general summary of all this drama. "Like I said, I'll give you more detail later, but you have an idea now. There were other I pissed off and stuff, but right now, I don't think I have the mental capacity to try and take care of all of it at once," she said with a huffed sigh and a shake of her head. She had that small list in her head again, of people she thought she should mend things with, but the top of the list was Ian. She'd wronged him most, and she wished she could take it all back and fix it so they were alright again. He was one of her first friends at the school and she missed him, especially now that she had come to her senses and snapped the hell out of whatever funk she was in.

"Mornin' to you too, sunshine." Liv smirked at Lian's almost desperate search for coffee. If there was one thing she understood it was the need for that kick in the morning. Coffee... it was the f*king nectar of life.
Liv hissed through her teeth as Lorelai pulled her onto the corner of the kitchen. "Hell, Lore, cold hands!" she whined, shaking her roommate off. Liv listened quietly while Lorelai painted a picture of the situation in hushed tones. Ah, it was a bad break up, she realized. Seriously, this is all over a guy. I should have f*king figured. Liv rolled her eyes and resisted the urge to facepalm.
“You realize you let a break up totally f*ck you over, right?” She kept her voice low, well aware that Lian was there and Coffee would understand anything she said. Frostbite was doing her best to not look at her, her discomfort obvious. “Never mind. Just do what you do best, Lore,” Liv grinned at her roommate. “Chill.”
Liv went back to cleaning up the leftovers, keeping a careful eye on her roommate. It had taken all of her tricks and a flock of sparrows to even get Lorelai out of the room in the first place. She wasn’t sure if she could pull it off a second time. “Que sera,” she muttered under her breath.
Roommate drama was not her jam.
She was starting to get that itch again. The one that drew her towards the outdoors. Her fingers drummed on the countertop and she looked over at the table. “Coffee, let me know if you want anything else. I’m gonna start putting things away.” She washed out her bowl and Ricki’s plate, hoping that whatever Coffee had planned for them would be too intense to let her think much.

A big smiled appeared all over Torri's face. She was happy that Ian wanted to hang out with her and she was even more happy to get an invitation to chill with the big boys. Gavin was pretty cool in her opinion but she never got to really have a total conversation with him. "OK awesome! I'll meet you guys there in about ten to twenty minutes then?" She added a slight skip in her step and she was so looking foward to reconnecting with her old team again. She wasn't afraid of them anymore and was able to realize that her lack of self confidence was the main resource for that. Torri was a new person and she liked herself way more than she did several months prior.
"See you soon Ian," she continued while heading back to the kitchen. "Oh and I'll bring snacks for you guys. I know Gavin loves his 'snacks' once in a while." With that, Torri headed back into the kitchen, happy that she spoke up. Karma was right (and she was right about a lot of things), Torri needed to just relax and find herself; find out what kind of person she was and who she was. Puberty made hormones go crazy and for a while she wasn't really herself.
Going back to her plate, Torri stood by the kitchen counter and worked on her blueberry pancakes. She wasn't going to let a good meal go to waste and she worked so hard on it too. "Sorry about that guys. Now I'm back." She smiled at Coffee, Lorelai and Liv and giggled at Lian. She looked like hell. Well not "hell" exactly but the equivalent to waking up after sleeping for a thousand years. Of course in Torri's mind, sleep meant refresh, not dread the following morning. "You alright Lorelai?" she asked genuinely. She assumed that she was still a bit bothered by Ian leaving the room, but Torri was going to make sure that the Paragon had a good morning at least. "C'mon finish your food and enjoy the lovely morning."

"Stop acting like there isn't a big elephant in the room," Lian croaked. She had her first sip of coffee and was now able to somewhat speak. She was annoyed on how everyone tried to be secretive in the school. Eventually it would leak and then the whole school would find out. Plus no one was stupid, except maybe Katana, and Lian was aware of what was happening even though the new chick and Lorelai tried to make it all buddy-buddy.
Taking another sip of her coffee, Lian sat down in one of the bar-stool chairs at the counter and sighed. "I saw the dude outside so clearly he was in here with you and something went down. Now honestly I don't give a shit about what you guys think or say about each other. But don't try to hide it right in front of others like we don't know. Either talk about it with people around or don't." Lian had a tendency to speak her mind when it wasn't asked. But the situation between Lorelai and Ian was beyond retarded and she was just sick of people babying the Paragon. If she was going to be a part of her team, well she had to man up.. a LOT.
"I'm not gonna sit here a baby you, asking you if you're OK and need help to get over it. Get over it! You dated for like two hours. I'm not saying I'm on his side since frankly I'm not a huge fan of his new chick. But at least she isn't afraid to get what she wants and you have to admire that." Lian was really pissed off about the tension between them. She was going to tell Ian off too if she was able to catch him after she left. But right now she was just happy she had coffee in her system. Once that happened, she couldn't be stopped for anything.
Getting up from her seat, she filled up her coffee cup again and headed out the kitchen door. She turned around one last time and said "Get over it and talk to him already. You're making me sick." She made sure to show Lorelai that she was half joking with her last statment before going back to her room. Her stomach was a bit more full and it was now time for a 'secret cigarette'.

Lorelai watched Lian leave after she said her piece. Maybe it was just her that she picked up that her last line might have been a joke, but it sort of seemed like Lian didn't hate her like that. She mentally pointed out to herself that she wasn't looking for people to baby her. She would've been well and willing to stick it out herself, but she liked better having people to talk to, friends who still liked her. There was no point in arguing what Lian had said, and let out a sigh before looking at Liv. "Please do remember that there's more to this before you think I'm a complete lameass for getting so bent out of shape after Ian. Boys are still part of the problem, but there's more to it than that, at least before I came here, so..yeah," she said feeling a little touchy on the subject, wanting to prove she wasn't completely pitiful as she walked slowly after Liv.
She moved over to the counter and leaned against it again. Torri and Coffee were still there, so she didn't want to keep dwelling on the drama. For Torri, Lorelai picked up the plate of freshly made pancakes and set them up like she liked. "Thanks, Torri," she said to the younger girl with a smile, focusing on moving away from crappy subjects. She started eating her pancakes as she watched Liv clean up the table. "So you and Coffee are gonna go do stuff after? Sounds cool, being able to speak with him and all. I'm thinking about heading somewhere that's not my room. I don't want another flock of birds finding me again," she said with a laugh and a slight playful smirk. "They're rather annoying and too small and quick for me to swat away," she commented with another laugh.
"These are good Torri, who knew?" she said with a small but encouraging smile at her former teammate. Lorelai'd been in hiding for what seemed like a while, but even she could see the changes happening with Torri. Being moved down to the Alpha Squadron seemed to have been a good thing. She didn't seem overwhelmed anymore and she wasn't so scared as she had been. It was nice to see that she was making positive progress. Now only if Lorelai herself could follow suit.
It was funny. The night before, she had seriously been hating the world and just about everyone in it. She even got a roommate, which she hadn't wanted at first, but now it didn't seem as bad as she thought it would be. Liv was pretty cool, and she didn't seem to let all the shit Lorelai pulled bother her....too much, at least. This morning wasn't that horrible, save for clearing out a room in less than five minutes. Maybe it was the strengthening resolve to set herself straight and fix things that made her feel a bit more positive. Maybe it was because she was refusing to let things keep her down. Either way, Lorelai oddly felt slightly optimistic about the day....so far, at least.

“Isn’t she totally cuddly?” Liv asked as she watched Lian leave. “I just want to hug her every time I see her and totally be her best friend.” With a smirk and an eye roll, Liv went back to the dirty dishes. Lian seemed like a little dog with a big bark and Liv didn’t see a point in paying her any mind. “I think I understand why Chase dangles her out over the lake. Hey, Torri, see if there’s any whipped cream in the fridge. You can’t have blueberry pancakes without whipped cream.” She smiled brightly, all the while her leg did an impatient little dance.
She wanted to go outside already.
Out of the corner of her eye, Liv saw Cuil wing back into the room and perch on top of a light fixture. Nothing interesting, he chirped, sounding unimpressed with the mutants. These two-leggers are boring. They only use words when they fight. They don't use their talons at all. Liv couldn't help but laugh at Cuil's interpretation of her classmates.
“You got it easy this morning," she said to Lorelai as the blue haired girl ate her pancakes. "Just wait until I start chatting with the other animals around here. You’re going to just love me when you go into the bathroom at three in the morning and there’s a raccoon splashing around in the john.” She winked, letting her poor roommate know that she was teasing… sort of.
Liv looked around the kitchen. Considering that the only real rule Nightcrawler had given her was to clean up whatever mess she made. With the exception of the things still in use, she’d managed to put away mostly everything. “Coffee, I’m going to go change and maybe go outside and loosen up a bit. Want to meet up in like… an hour?” She looked out the window, eager to get outside.
“I’ll see you later, Lore. And stay out of the room, huh? Don’t make me birdie-trap it.” With a wicked grin she looked pointedly at her roommate. "Nice to meet you, Torri. Coffee? An hour, yeah? Cuil…” The bird glided down from his perch and landed in her hair. “You feathery f*ck, get out of my hair!” Liv left the kitchen shaking her curls like a lunatic and bickering with a bird that weighed less than an ounce.

Torri didn't realize the slanted smile she had on her face until Liv left the room. She waved goodbye to the new student and then looked down at her plate. It was just her, Coffee and Lorelai and she was going to leave after she finished her food in order to join Ian and Gavin. Clearly she couldn't invite Lorelai since Ian was going to be there and to be honest, she didn't believe it would have been cool with either of them if she invited the Paragon without them knowing about it. Sighing slightly, Torri regretted that as soon as Lorelai got to the kitchen, everyone started to leave. She felt sad for her and guilty too, but she assumed Liv would keep her company.
Finishing her pancakes, Torri took her dishes to the sink and washed off the access syrup and crumbs before placing them into the dishwasher. She then got some snack bars from the cabinets for Ian and Gavin and put them in her pockets. "Sorry Lorelai but I gotta go do some homework now before I help out Karma," she regretted to say. Her big blue eyes were filled with guilt and she really really didn't want to leave Lorelai alone. "Wanna hang out later? Like tonight or something? We can watch a scary movie before I have to go to sleep." She really did want to spend time with Lorelai. Whether it was out of feeling sorry for her or not, she didn't know. But all she did know was that being left alone wasn't fun and that was the last thing Torri wanted anyone to feel.
Smiling brightly she headed out of the kitchen. "Tonight, eight' o' clock. You better be there and I'm picking." With that she walked out of the kitchen, hoping she left Lorelai with good spirits. "Later Coffee!" she remembered to yell out. She was now heading for the library only wondering what shenanigans Gavin and Ian were getting themselves into...

Wraith followed his nose and the map in his head and let himself into the kitchen. His eyebrow popped up judgementally as he spotted a blue haired girl leaning at the counter and a huge rabbit sitting at the table with a plate and glass of juice. He disregarded the rabbit and looked the girl over critically. Blue hair, baggy sweatshirt, and sort of drawn expression. Wraith wondered if dye jobs were some sort of weird style at the school as he slid over to the table and poured himself some OJ.
"Good morning," he said cheerfully, well aware that the blue-haired girl wouldn't have heard him come in. He smirked and raised the glass as if he were toasting the girl. To her it would look like the juice had poured itself and was moving of its own accord and so long as he was going to be shocking people, he might as well enjoy it. Besides, she didn't look all that dangerous.
Just a bit sad.
"I'm Wraith," he said casually. "I just got here. Did you make all this food? Nice."

Eyebrows knit together at this seeming ghost who came in and was floating his glass around, Lorelai scrutinized the moving glass and moved her eyes aimlessly over area surrounding the glass, seeing no one holding it but a guy's voice coming from that direction. "Um..." she said, raising one eyebrow slightly as she looked at no one, "Hi?" she said, her eyes searching for any indication of a somebody but still saw no one. Unless someone's figured out how to turn into a ghost...I think we've got another new kid. Yea....I don't know the voice.. And, he doesn't sound like he hates me. Well, alright...let's see how this goes.
"I didn't actually... My roommate did, but I'll pass on the compliments. I'm Lorelai. Or Frostbite. Whichever you prefer," she said, feeling somewhat awkward talking to thin air. But it was a boy she was talking to, so she figured it was all one in the same. She continued leaning against the counter, her eyes searching for any indication she might see something, or miss seeing a flash of something other than the moving glass. "Nice to uh, meet you?..." she said, half a question, half a statement as she debated offering a hand out to shake. What the hell. Can't hurt. I hope, she thought to herself as she slowly lifted a hand and offered it out for the invisible boy to shake, if he wanted.
Even though she couldn't see this kid, she felt somewhat glad that this person was new, and seemed like he wanted to be nice. She didn't know exactly what he'd be like, but she much preferred 'seeing' him in the kitchen rather than stupid, skinny ass Clutch. She had avoided looking over at her, and clutched a fist when she saw her stomp through the kitchen with her face all twisted up and pouty looking. Spoiled whiny little skank, she thought coldly, although her face still held a somewhat skeptical look from watching the invisible boy float his cup around. "I'm guessing that..you just got here, am I right?" she said, turning her thoughts from spoiled rich girls and towards the blank space in front of her. This, she thought, should turn out to be interesting, and not too bad. I hope..

Wraith stared at the proffered hand that was too far to the left and way too high. Smirking, he caught hold of the hand and gave it a quick shake. “Down here,” he said, laughter coloring his voice. “Wow, cold hands. Guess I know how you got the name Frostbite.” He continued to sip on his juice as he looked around the kitchen, forcing himself to pay attention to detail for a change. It was tidy, for all that a meal had clearly just gone on. The heavy smells of pancakes, bacon, and eggs permeated the air and would probably linger around for a few hours. He looked sidelong at Frostbite again and put the glass down carefully. Without it she would have no idea where he was.
“Sorry about the phantom act,” he said, moving right next to her, “but I don’t actually know how to turn it off. Hey what’s the deal with these teams? Frost told me I would be an Acolyte, but I’m not real sure what that means.” He moved to her other side and nudged her, enjoying his spectral games. “What team you on, Frosty?”

"Uh," Lorelai stuttered, jumping to the side after he nudged her, looking from right to left and back quickly as if it would help her figure out where he was now. "Paragons," she said, sidestepping around and hoping she was avoiding him so she wouldn't be nudged out of the blue. "Used to be where you are, but the Acolytes are a team. Practice together, do a lot of stuff together. It's your main crew I guess...but think of it like a sports team," she said, her eyes darting around, narrowed slightly as if it would help to see Wraith. "Yeah, I think that's the best way to put it," she said with a slight nod as she kept slowly sidestepping around aimlessly.
She felt herself back into a chair and stepped away without looking, thinking it might've been him. "Are you having fun?" she asked, looking around for the invisible boy. "How would you like it if you got it?" she asked, going forward a step and starting to poke the air randomly. "I'll get you..somehow," she said, looking around as she kept prodding the air while still moving to avoid him. She kept poking the air until she felt the tip of her finger hit something solid...somewhere. She worried for a second before seeing that her finger was higher than what would worry her and smirked. "Ha!" she said before poking it a couple times. "I win," she said with a laugh before backing up quickly so Wraith couldn't get her back.
She turned and moved quickly around to the opposite side of the nearby table and kept her slightly narrowed eyes looking around to see if she could see anything off that would let her know he was moving. She stepped behind a chair and quieted down to see if she could even hear him moving, although she pouted slightly when she realized she never heard him come in. Aw man, now I'm stuck in the kitchen with the phantom kid...at least he speaks. Even though I'm being like..haunted, I'm sorta having a little fun. Maybe this day will be alright, she thought as she kept quiet to listen for him.

“Boo!” Wraith let out a small laugh right in Frostbite’s ear. He’d snuck around behind her, delighted by this old game with a new playmate. If he was going to be stuck as a specter, he might as well enjoy himself. He tugged gently on a hank of blue hair and darted away again. He would be able to keep out of reach until she gave up or until he felt like getting poked in the bellybutton again. “So our teams are our families. Figures. And yes. I’m having loads of fun, thank you. I wish I had a camera so that I could have a hard copy of you dueling with empty air.” Wraith settled back into his chair with a quiet laugh and watched Frostbite look around the kitchen, a cute little pout on her face.
“You know what my power is,” he said flicking a biscuit crumb at her from the table to alert her to his location again, “but I don’t know yours. I’d wager it’s something to do with the cold?” Wraith went back to sipping nonchalantly at his juice, as though he hadn’t just been tormenting the hell out of someone. “I know, My brilliant deductive powers astound you.”
There were time when Wraith really did love his power. Had he been visible, Frostbite probably wouldn’t have looked at him twice. When looking at himself critically, Wraith knew he wasn’t a bad looking guy. He was fit from practically living outdoors. He chopped firewood, hunted, helped his dad and his brothers build the house… he was strong. He had dark hair that cow-licked in the back and warm brown eyes. At least, he had those things. Now he was just air and memories. But invisible, Wraith wasn’t so easily overlooked. He made his point by leaning forward and tugging plaintively on Frostbite's arm.
“So tell me, beautiful, what would two super-powered teenagers do on a Sunday morning at Xavier’s Institute?”

Lorelai turned her head in the direction she felt her arm pulled on, and looked at nothing but what was in her line of sight in the kitchen. "Well, there's plenty of stuff to do, but I duno," she said, looking off to the side and wondering where she could go that she wouldn't run into anyone she didn't want to see. There were plenty of people she didn't want to who could just ruin everything by saying something, or worse, doing something. She didn't want to risk the chance that she could just walk into an area that would show Wraith what kind of possible friendship he was getting himself into. Liv seemed alright with her, but she didn't know if Wraith would be the same way. She didn't want to ruin anything from the get-go.
"There's a lake along the path, if you wanna go there," she offered, looking around where her arm was tugged suspiciously as she backed up, hopefully away from him. The phantom ghost game was unfair, and while she knew she looked silly poking the air and chance poking him, it was still sort of fun. Plus I'm socializing...ish. Liv should be proud, she thought with a smirk and slowly slid around to the other side of the table. She glanced out of one of the windows and could see the pool surrounded by a bunch of people she didn't like, minus Heather. She was still kind to her, and for that Lorelai respected and liked Heather. "And yes, your deductive powers are the thing of envy, even though my name is still rather obvious. It makes things slightly easier to get you instead of poking," she said with a sly smirk, slowly moving again before letting one of her hands let loose a small flurry of snow swirl around her general area and spread a little, just to make sure she got him.
"Let's just say winter is my best season," she said with a little smirk as she saw some of the snowflakes land on Wraith and immediately let them gather harden to give off a thin layer of clear ice. "There you are," she said, her head tilted slightly as she let him shake it off. "I'm even learning from the master of ice himself," she said, slightly proud of that since she was pretty much the only one who could learn the best of Iceman's tricks, should he choose to teach them to her.
She snapped out of her little bout of smugness and moved towards the door, just in case and to keep moving from the ghost boy. "So, now that your deductive powers have deducted so much, you wanna go to the lake? The water there is still a little cool if you go in, but that doesn't matter to me," she said with a small laugh to herself, giving up looking for him for the moment, since it didn't matter if she could see him or not. Just as long as she knew he didn't totally ditch her as soon as she walked out of the kitchen, she thought she could deal.

Wraith shook the ice out of his hair and grinned. "Impressive trick. I guess I can't exactly sneak up on you anymore, huh?" He squeezed out the door ahead of her and she walked right into him. "Neeeeever mind." The laughter in his voice was friendly and Wraith finally gave Frostbite a little space. "The lake sounds good, and doll, don't worry about me getting cold. I'm from Maine. Northern Maine. I'll well versed in freezing my junk off."
He grinned down and gave another playful tug on Frostbite's blue hair. "To the lake!" he said cheerfully. "And I have to know, what's with the hair? First that girl in the courtyard with the green hair and you with the blue. Team colors or something?" He followed her out the hall keeping up a steady stream of chatter to make sure she knew he was still there.
He should really wear a bell or something.
