Lorelai led the way out to the lake, taking a slightly longer route so she could avoid any possible clash with the pool bums and anyone else she could guess would be around. It might've seemed a little avoidant, but she didn't know if Wraith picked up on that. Hopefully he hadn't; she didn't him to know that just walking through the school for her wasn't exactly straightforward.
"Aand..the lake," she said as they made it to the patch of grass near the water's edge. She smirked slightly; she wasn't prepared to go swimming and hadn't even thought about it getting up that morning. Regardless, it didn't matter. She might not even go in the water. The lake was a nice place to think sometimes, even to enjoy the view since there was quite a panorama past the lake and the forest with the sky.
"Still there?" she asked, unable to help looking around to see if she could see some sort of way to know if he was still there. He'd been talking and she knew he was there along the way, but he had quieted down and for all she knew, he could've run off. This sorta figures...A new friend and of all things he's invisible. If I start going crazy, ha- too late for that, anyway, I have a damn good reason why, she thought with a smirk as she shook her head and laughed to herself.
She glanced around uselessly again before sitting down on the grass a few feet away from the water and drew her knees to her chest. "Wraith? Want some more ice or show me you're here...without pulling my hair again. That's attached to my head, you know," she said with a half laugh as she heard to listen for the grass rustling. "What's your real name anyway?" she asked, turning her head slightly in the direction she thought she heard grass crunching under invisible footsteps.

She was looking in the wrong direction.
Again.
Wraith settled down on Frostbite's otherside just to be difficult and cleared his throat. "Over here, doll." He grinned when she whipped back around. "That will never get old." Chuckling to himself, Wraith looked out over the lake, impressed. It was a chill spot and Frostbite seemed friendly enough.
"So this is like a regular school, too? I mean, with homework, and classes, and all that?" Wraith questioned, interested in what he had really gotten himself into. He was still a bit stunned that his new teachers were the X-men and his classmates were just like him. He'd never given much thought to mutants in the past. There were always stories back home about someone who knew someone else that had developed a mutation. He had never expected it to happen to him. Now that it had... he looked over at Frostbite.
Well, there were worse things that could have happened.

"Yeah, it's your typical high school....only we also train and practice using our powers and stuff. I like that part better," Lorelai said with a slight laugh. It seemed easier because her powers were something she liked, and with each passing day she practiced, it was becoming more instinctual for the tricks she'd been working on for a while. She wasn't at that level with the ice slide yet, but she was still pretty decent with it, and she realized with a little smirk that the lake was the perfect place to practice. "Plenty of homework, some more than others. Do you have a favorite class, or do you figure you'll just enjoy Iceman's power training class most of all?" she asked before laughing. "Never mind that, you're already using your power and having way too much fun with it," she said with a slight playful glare in the direction she heard his voice coming from.
"You can't turn the invisibility off right?" she asked, looking at the open space next to her and wondered for a second. "What do you look like, then?" she questioned curiously, especially now that she thought about it. She wasn't going to use the description to judge, but just to give herself some sort of idea of how Wraith looked so he wasn't just totally thin air.

"Yeah, I think Power class is going to suck for me," Wraith admitted. "Don't get me wrong, being invisible has it's benefits, but it tends to cause just as many problems. Do you think Iceman will really be able to help me learn to turn this on and off?" Wraith frowned and stared out over the lake. Absently, he started pulling up blades of grass, a nervous gesture that probably looked ridiculous to the girl next to him since all she could see was the grass uprooting itself and shredding before falling back to the ground. Frostbite was asking the hard questions. Name? Appearance? Hell, somedays Wraith couldn't tell himself. While he could see himself, he didn't appear in mirrors anymore. He didn't have a reflection. Heaving a sigh, he dug into his back pocket and pulled out his wallet. "I know what I looked like," he said, a bit dejected. "It's been a while since I disappeared. My family was reluctant to send me here at first, but this was bit more than two school teachers with a whole liter of kids could handle. Ms. Frost finally convinced Mom, and after that it was only a matter of time." Wraith opened his wallet and pulled out a faded picture before dropping it to the grass. The longer he had direct contact with something the sooner it disappeared, and he didn't want to lose that photo. That's me in the middle next to my Mom and my little brother." The smile was back in his voice. No way he could look at that picture and be in a bad mood. "The two on the ends are my older brothers and my little sister's the other one." He laughed to himself, remembering the day that picture was taken. The whole family had gone to Novia Scotia for a week and it had been the most fun they'd all had in a long time. His sister had begged to go and see the statue of Evangeline, had wanted them to take a picture in front of it. After a flat tire, dropping the video camera in the sound, leaving their bags on the bus, and his father getting poison ivy, they made it to the statue, took the picture... and the statue hadn't even shown up in the photo. Still, he'd wanted to keep the picture, even if Marion threw a fit every time she saw it. It was a reminder of a good day regardless of all the crap that had happened. He looked at Frostbite and went back to shredding the grass. "My name's Matt."

Lorelai looked over where the grass was being shredded and smiled a little. She had picked the picture up gingerly so she could look closer at the faded people on it. "This is you?" she asked, looking at who Matt had pointed out as himself before looking at the others he mentioned. "And you went invisible...why?" she asked with a playful laugh, looking from the picture to the open space next to her, picking at some more grass. It was odd to watch, but still kind of interesting since it looked like the grass was doing it itself. "Thanks for showing me an actual picture. Does a lot better than just a general description. I can only imagine what kind of image someone could come up with if I told them I had blue hair and brown eyes," she said with a laugh and a smile that faded slightly at the idea. "They could compare me to Thing 1 or 2 especially if I wore a red shirt.. meep," she said with a laugh and a shake of her head.
She put the picture down carefully where she found it so he could take it back and wrapped her arm around her knees again. "You looked happy in that picture. I'm sure Iceman can help you figure something out that would get you visible again. Maybe even Miss Frost. We all know she could read our minds at any time, but maybe she could help you that way. But I'd talk to Iceman if I were you. He's wicked awesome and creative. Everyone loves him," she said with a small smile on her face at the thought of him. He was beyond cool, especially the past day or so. If he hadn't been there, she probably wouldn't be even close to being alright.
"You should catch the next Power Manipulation class. I'm sure he'd come up with something really cool for you to do. I mean, he's still having me work on the ice slide. Long as I concentrate, I'm good, and actually here's a pretty good place to practice when he's not around. If I fall, I just take a dip. It works out pretty good," she said with a little smirk. "Plus I can make myself a diving board right there," she laughed, lazily pointing a finger up over the water. "It's all just a matter of working on something and nailing it, and I'm sure once you've got something to help you turn it on and off, you'll get there," she said with a small smile, glancing over to the side she hoped Matt was still on.

Wraith put the picture back into his wallet and grinned at the compliment. "I assure you, I didn't 'poof' on purpose. I'd be perfectly happy being visible." He looked sideways at Frostbite. "And you certainly don't look like Thing 1. Maybe Thing 2." He nudged her playfully and tossed a handful of grass at her. It fell around Frostbite like green confetti. "Maybe not."
The idea of Power Manipulation class with Iceman was certainly interesting. That's what he was here for, after all. He wanted to get a handled on his stupid power.
Speaking of powers...
"So an ice slide, huh? I dare you."

"What's to dare?" Lorelai asked, smirking slightly. "Don't believe me? Alright then, a small one, and you better not knock me over," she said, slowly getting up. A small slide she'd do just to show him, and she'd stay concentrated. Although it'd be fine should she fall in the water, she didn't think she wanted to just yet. Staying dry for the moment was something nice to her, and she didn't want to get wet. "This'll be over quick," she said, fixing her stance and starting the slide under her feet.
The ice came out in front of her and kept her going as she headed out a bit over the water before she went a little higher and turned, keeping her concentration and reminding herself it was like riding her skateboard so her balance was good. She went up a little higher still before aiming it downwards, moving fast as if she were dropping into a half pipe, only she didn't go back up, she stepped back onto the ground. She had to take a couple extra steps to regain herself before she would fall, but she got it and then moved near where she started the slide. It was a safe ride, and she made sure it wasn't something that would easily make her fall, like that downward spiraling slide from the other day.
"There you go. I'd say show me a trick, but I've seen and felt a bunch of ghost tricks already. If you got something new, go ahead and show me. I dare you," she said, smirking slightly as she sat back down, making sure she wasn't sitting on anything but the ground and hugged her knees again.

Wraith chuckled, giving her another ghosty nudge. "Nope, nothing new. Probably for the best, since I can't control the tricks I have." He fell silent again, eyes out over the water. Frostbite was nice, and she was plenty interesting and nice to look at...well, at least she would be, once the mess of bruises on her face healed up, but Wrait was painfully aware that Ms. Frost had wanted him to socialize. Putting him in his own room, that would force him to step out and talk to others.
It would also prevent him from haunting his roommate. That would have been mean... but extremely funny. He smirked. Come to think of it, he did have another trick for Frostbite, and it wasn't one she would thank him for.
"Actually," he said quietly, standing up and brushing his pants free of the grass he'd torn up. "I am known for a little something back home."
With that, Wraith mussed her hair again and bolted back toward the mansion. He wondered how long it would take Frostbite to realize he wasn't there anymore. He couldn't count how many times he'd done that to his brothers, silently leaving while they were talking, ghosting away without their realizing.
"See you later, Frostbite." He walked away laughing happily. "Sup, bro," he asked, passing a big guy on the grounds. He cracked up as he walked past.
Yeah, Wraith was going to enjoy this place.
