For Everyone's Benefit Role Playing Rules and Guidelines On this site we pride ourselves on not limiting our players creativity, for the most part be as creative as you like. We do however want everyone to have a good and fair time here so there are very few, but strict rules that we do enforce. Don't worry they are very basic rules and nothing too complex. 1. No Playing God. Just like in the comics and in real life, every character has their grand victories and their losses. Remember that you cannot always win. You cannot dodge every attack or overpower someone much stronger and more experienced than you. Sometimes you triumph and sometimes you don’t. Remember, in comic books the characters learn much more from their failures and those failures fuel their determination and generate more satisfying victories. Even the strongest of them have their strengths and weaknesses and you will not lose any respect by losing because someone touched upon a weak point. In the end whoever can come up with the cleverest and most fitting idea in a post while remaining "in character" is victorious. But it does not mean you are a failure for not doing so, it just means you will get them next time. 2. Please, and this rule is stressed and enforced greatly, PLEASE check your spelling and grammar before you post. There is a *spell check* tool right in the posting area and if need be read it to yourself first to make sure everything makes sense. The role play is done in third person point of view and past tense so watch your tenses. Good example: Wolverine looked over his shoulder when he heard Kitty calling his name. Bad example: Wolverine looks over his shoulder and hears you calling his name. It really isn’t too much to ask. 3. Have fun in developing your character and give everyone an insight to them and their motivations to let us know how they are doing. Show what they are thinking and include good details. Makes sure it makes sense |

Welcome Aboard Welcome Notice Welcome to the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning. All of us here welcome you to our school and look forward to meeting you. Here at the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning we encourage knowledge in all levels, which includes of course the topics any other school would have in both educational, as well as athletic aspects. The difference with this school is that we also help you to develop your mutant ability. Students in this school start small, and with the help of our staff learn to work their way up to their full potential, doing great things with their mutant ability that goes beyond their imagination. Xavier's Institute for Higher Learning is all about the younger generation finding themselves, growing and evolving as individuals and learning to control their ability. When our students graduate, they will take the next steps in their lives and the next step is all up to you. You can stay and become a part of the X-Men or you can go and seek out the Brotherhood and become a part of their family. There are many other options available to you including the Hellfire Club and the Morlocks. Level System There are three levels in the school as a student. The youngest level is looked after by Karma, our French teacher and is placed in a group known as the Alpha Squadron. As a younger student you are not allowed to participate in the Danger Room sessions, yet will focus on developing your mutant abilities enough through play and interactions in class. In this way, as you become of age and by the time you are old enough to leave Alpha Squadron and join the older kids, you will easily be able to keep up if not excel. This has been proven to enable our students to do far more for they have had much more time to develop their mutant ability.
