Heartless as he could pretend to be, this part was killing him and he just couldn't let it go on anymore. "This is the girl I fell in love with, this girl right here. The brave one who hurts and still keeps going and when it gets beyond her she says so..." He smiled up at her as she sat on the arm of the chair. From his spot in the cushion below he could see the tremble of uncertainty in her lip and hear how her breath was catching in her throat. ".. you gotta stop holdin that in, it's gonna kill ya one day, if it don't kill me first."
"I have an advantage in seeing things that others might miss, but I know yer uncertainty comes from never havin ta deal with emotions. Makes for a good little soldier, great for an assassin..Chinese useta do it to their little assassin girls, but that aint you anymore and whoever took the time to deny you your feelings is gonna burn for it someday I'm sure." He was talking about their soul, but then he thought about the irony of his statement and considered that Aideen herself might one day put fire to flesh over the torture by denial that she had endured.
"See I saw this tenderness and this strength and it was at that moment that I fell in love with you. When you wept. In my arms." His mind went back to that moment in Stark Tower as his hand reached up to make small circles on her back in the same place he had done. "Do you remember? I know I'll never forget it, you fought through those demons and you cried when we were safe, but you clung to me and it was then that it started for me. On the cold floor up in Stark Tower. That was the moment I fell in love with you."
"I can't deny that I thought the world of ya before that. From that first time I met ya, and we shared some beers... Christmas Eve. Then in the woods, the way ya held there - for just that second, and the concern in your face... yeah I knew you were special even back then, but it was the tears. The tears of a tender broken heart that finally knew relief and that it could mend." he reached his hand up to stroke her hair out of her face, tucking it behind her ear. "And letting it out.. Hey, what can I say Angel Eyes? Ya got to me."

"That long? God damn," Mason said as this was the most he heard about the two of them as well. "So for a good couple of months now, you had to sit there and watch all that shit with Brock, and not kill him? Daaaamnnn." He looked at the the two of them, very impressed at the moment with Logan's self control. If he fell for the girl that long ago and he had to sit and grit his teeth the whole time while Rumble sunk his teeth into Aideen and not kill him, or severely disfigure him. Mason knew without thinking that he wouldn't be able to have that kind of self control, and it took a strong guy to hold himself back. Then again, Mason had to consider that Logan didn't know about every encounter and just how often Brock liked to corner Aideen, but then again Brock did enjoy bragging about his little exploits, which didn't help matter.
"Wait a minute so thats what that whole 'walking on air' look you both had at gym class?" He said with wide eyes, all the pieces falling in place. "Awww, man come on really?" The look on his face was just a little weirded out. He was much more used to the idea of the two of them together now, but these surprises and stuff weren't good for his mental health. "So that's why you have that hot little shirt on that made me slap Burns several times to keep him from tripping over his tongue and made Brock go more ape shit than usual. Jesus H. Christ. Now I feel dumb," he said sitting and stuffing a forkful of the Bamboo Beef into his mouth and shaking his head. He really needed to polish up on his observation skills.
"Dollface, I think me and you are the only normal ones here. You didn't fall for me to catch you, I didn't use a lame pick up line, and I didn't... I don't know even know quite what they have," Mason gestured to Aideen and Logan shaking his head. "I just asked you out and you said yes. That's all, nothing fancy nothing crazy like you people." He shook his head and took a sip of the beer now, smirking slightly to himself. "You people are just something else man."

"It's been rougher than you can imagine boo." Tracy said softly to her man, leaning over to kiss his cheek and then giggling as she wiped off the bit of green curry sauce she left on his cheek before she cast her eyes to the chair that Aideen and Logan shared. "And I think you have both behaved admirably. Even I reached my limit before the two of you and it takes quite a lot for me to snap."
Her heart went out to the both of them, knowing what it was they felt and kept hidden, and sharing in that deception in a way. It was an odd thing for Tracy, but she had grown accustomed to it over the years. Knowing what others felt and not sharing those personal details with anyone else, not even those people themselves, was probably the hardest part of being her. As much as she tried to tell herself that remaining silent was for the best she always felt a tinge of guilt when things went bad or times were at their darkest for someone and their heart's desire was just a mere arms length away.
"And who says I didn't fall for you?" she said turning back to Mason with a wink. "I did, and when you asked me out I already had a good idea you wanted something real and not just another..." she she looked around at the three boys, knowing Dylan was more than likely not a party to the sharing and leaving Logan out but looking sternly at both Mike and Mason "..who did you say..?.. Cassie? I can't even believe you went there, but I know how you were and that's why I stayed out of your reach for so long. It was the right time for us, but Mason, just because we took our time doesn't mean it wasn't the right time for each and every one of our friends here."
Tracy smiled at them all. Knowing completely how all of them felt about one another. "You can't judge it, or rush it, or stop it. It's like a tidal wave and it sweeps you right off your feet. It's raised peasants to royalty and brought kings to their knees. For the want of it mankind has moved mountains and endured hardships greater than anyone might have thought possible." She nodded as she looked around. "Oh yes, love is all those things and more. To feel it is the greatest gift of life, so we are all very fortunate indeed."
"Who needs another drink?" Tracy said and took the last sip of her wine. Dylan was correct that it wasn't the finery they had been drinking earlier but it was a pleasant drop, hardly a fat bastard but Tracy didn't want anything too rich or too full bodied when she chose it so it would have to suffice. "Anyone? Oh and should I chill the Sticky Rice and Mango or do you guys like it sorta gooey?"

Both Lai and Ingrid at this point were looking at the couples with a dreamy look on their faces, and Tracy's words about love only made them slip into a more dreamy kind of look. Ingrid had temporarily left her Exotic noodles to look at them with a dreamy expression. "That's so.. aww wow amazing," she said with a grin looking at Logan and Aideen and then over at Tracy and Mason. "I do love romance, . It's like a 1940s romance, you know with the woman falling into the man's arms for solace. Like Maureen O'Hara in 'The Quiet Man', who talked like a sailor and had a fiery temper finally broke down in front of John Wayne and let him in that closed heart of hers, and he fights her brother, the biggest and meanest bully in town for her sake, and she's right there ready to clobber both of them!" She babbled with shining purple eyes before she caught the uneasy and embarrassed look on Aideen's face.
"Oh I'm so sorry, I did not mean to- oh I know I talk too much sometimes. Please don't mind me, and my romantic streak, I did not- now would be a good time for me to shut up I think," Ingrid said with look at Dylan and an embarrassed look over at the others. "Please excuse me, I mean yes the movie I just finished filming was a suspense thriller, and I am slightly obsessed with romantic films and romance in general. Just ask Dylan, I fell for him the day he set up my apartment to look like Rick's place from 'Casablanca'. I am horrible hopeless romantic, please do not mind me." She had an embarrassed smile on her face and shook her head.
Lai shook her head at her friend, smiling now that the sparkle was back in her eyes. "You're too cute Ingrid, you're gonna be the next heroine in the epic romance in Hollywood history. The next Nicholas Sparks movie most likely," she added with a giggle and looked back at the others. "Wow, I can say I didn't expect that. Are you like an assistant in gym class or something then? Not to pry but I figure I won't get a sarcastic remark since we're in private now and all," Lai said with a smirk and taking a forkful of her beef pad thai.

"She's a student, she's not allowed to be an assistant," Dylan said taking another forkful of the Beef Siam as everyone's head snapped in his direction in astonishment. He looked up at them all confused as to why they all looked so shocked. "What? I thought it was fairly obvious." From the look on Ingrid, Lai's, and Mike's faces it probably wasn't all that obvious like he thought. "Well why else would they try and keep it all a secret at the school? And then of course they mentioned Brock pursuing her, and he is never one to pursue a teacher as none match up to Emma Frost in his eyes, and since when has Logan ever taken on a teacher's assistant in his classes? Granted you weren't there all the time when we were in school, but when you did stay I don't remember a single time you would take an assistant." Dylan said looking at Logan now and still eating his food without care, though he was fairly sure that he shocked everyone else.
Since the restaurant, he had been fairly sure of that just from the little that was said that she couldn't have been a teacher, and when Brock came up that one time he was near positive she was a student. Since they got to the apartment with all the hints, it became even more obvious. Of course being that Dylan had an IQ of 187, he found that he was able to connect the dots on situations quicker than anyone else. Sometimes it was so obvious to him that he completely forgot to even mention it to everyone else and assumed they knew as well.
"Really? I'm the only one that got it? How, how else would you explain Tracy and Mason being so close to her? We had close friendships with the teacher too, but always with a sense of authority, and there is none of that with how they act with Aideen. Would Mason really tease a teacher about her legs?" He looked at all of them as if it was the most obvious thing in the world, giving them that incredulous look of disbelief that they didn't figure out something so simple.

"You SLY dog. HA!" Network sat back into the sofa and threw his hands up behind his head. "I canNOT believe you- oh man. After all the lectures and the hell you put me through in school. Saying how I couldn't be trusted to run a team, all that stuff about 'abusing a position of authority'... HA! I guess it just goes to show ya the old saying is true... those that can't do - teach."
"Logan, you know you put me through it man, and above anybody it was your respect I wanted to earn." Mike held his finger pointing out at the old hairy sod and waved it back and forth. "No more my friend, never again will I hold the opinion anyone has of me over the opinion I have of myself. I'm a decent guy, sure I mess up but YOU- you made me feel like I couldn't do shit right, and for years I kept thinking of myself through some weird filter of what you would say if I did this or that... Damn."
He slapped both his hands against his forehead and dug his fingers back through his thick short hair. "Hahahaa, I just can't believe it. I thought you were this guy who was like, well shit-" he looked up and leaned forward to rest his elbow on his knees "like some kind of chivalrous knight or some crap. Yea, yea" he said to Mason, catching the look he was getting at the revelations of what had been a driving force in his life "I know, I know Mase. He is just another guy, I get that now but -"
A long pause followed as Mike took a breath and then another and regarded Logan through different eyes. "-I don't know whether to be overjoyed that I'm free of some tyrannical self imposed scrutiny or to just start crying. Logan you've been this figure in my life that I held myself accountable to even after I graduated from that school, hell you really made an impact in my life and now...? Now? Well, you're just some old dude taking advantage of some poor student that has little clue what she's even feeling... wow-"
He sat back against the couch again and let out a long burst of air. "-talk about mind blowing." He just looked at the two of them sitting across from him. The guy who was, for all intents and purposes his hero, a living legend of the mutant world who time and time again had risked his life for the innocent and the guilty alike if he felt they were worth redeeming. His young lover, sitting balanced on the arm of the chair, unaware of exactly how she had been manipulated and by her own words and actions showing she could barely hold her own emotions in check.
"How did I miss it?" He asked himself and all those present, it was of course a rhetorical question, but the next ones he directed to Aideen herself. Checking his tone now that he was quite honestly spent from bearing his soul, and as open as he was now being he asked her earnestly "And for that matter how could they have put you up onto the Corsairs? At the risk of being thrown out I gotta ask, can you really say you're emotionally stable enough to be on a college level team?"

The previous look of adoration that had swirled in Aideen's dark eyes turned quickly into dangerous eyes similar to the expression she had on her face. "Yes because I really look like the type that can be manipulated don't I? And emotionally unstable, of course that describes me to the letter right there, seeing as you're the right person to judge on that aspect," she spat setting the bowl down and glaring at him. "You really know why they put me on the Corsairs Network? Because I can be relied upon to have a clear head in any situation and will not let emotions get in the way of an order. Because I do what is expected of me and not spend my life with my head up my ass paying attention to no one but myself." Her eyes bore into him, her guard right back up but her voice never raised above it's soft and usual tone.
"You dare sit there, smug smile on your face and pass judgment on our relationship? You the guy who couldn't even tell you're own girlfriend who you claim to love about who you are in all the time you've been together? All that and you have the audacity to pass judgment, when all of us here saw the heartbroken and crushed look on her face today when Mason had to tell her something she should have known from you a long time ago," she said softly, the dark of her eyes glinting dangerously in her fury. She threw Rumble through the boathouse door the other day for saying less about Logan and she would have no qualms doing it again.
"You got some nerve to sit there and try and discredit a man that you are not worthy of even addressing, and why, just cause the circumstances of our relationship don't live up to common standards? If you could get one thing through your shamefully thick head, let it be that no matter how uncommon our relationship might be, not once as he ever made me feel unimportant, and not once has he ever made that expression of heartache and despair, that same expression that Lai right wore just a couple of hours earlier, come on my face." Soft words flew out of her mouth as fierce as the look in her eyes, unrelenting and calm.
It was blatantly obvious that Aideen was furious, and she had to stand up and move in fear that she'd set the couch on fire with the heat waves coming from her body. She was in disbelief at this point that someone who knew her for all of three hours tops, had the nerve to call her emotionally unstable and easily manipulated. "You are the most spoiled egotistical ass I have ever met next to Rumble. You think you are smart enough to flatter yourself with the knowledge on assuming my personal traits after knowing me for all of three hours? And dare think Logan to be manipulative? If he was any good at manipulating, maybe he would have got something through that thick head of yours, but that was an obvious utter fail. Interesting how you managed to graduate from that school, let alone be a Corsair, with the logic of a lemming."
Aideen grabbed her beer and took a long neat sip, taking deep breaths to calm herself down. Whenever she felt anger, her body responded directly and it always took a lot of control to keep her power in check, control that sometimes proved to be beyond her grasp. "Mason, next time we go somewhere and you have friends in the area, do me the personal favor and meet them at their place," she said walking back over to stand next to Logan, keeping her eyes anywhere but Mike and trying to take full on control of her minds to stop the heat waves from flowing so thickly from her skin.

Licking the sauce off the back of one of his knuckles Logan hid a grin that was forming behind his hand and cast his eyes up to meet Ember's. He was more than proud of her for sticking up for them both and he was definitely going to show her how proud. Clearing his throat he shifted in his seat before digging his chopsticks back into the Lamb dish he was enjoying.
Without looking up, and with his mouth half full he said "That answer yer questions Bub?" He took his time chewing and savored the gamey sweetness of the lamb as it blended with the spicy heat of the traditional aromatic curry. "You already know I could care less about yer opinion of me and even though it's a little weird ya still think of how I might judge ya, well I gotta say-" his expression softened as he could hold back his laughter for only a little bit longer.
His Angel Eyes had put him in his place and the poor lug hadn't even seen it coming. How could he have? He didn't know Aideen or the way she would defend herself and her love. The tension of the room had built to a head and the air was electric, charged with passion and anger. Every ear was hanging on his next utterance and it was then.. right at that moment.. Logan burst out laughing. *BAAahahaaaHAAaaHaa*
"-that's just too God Damned sweet. HAaaHaaHAAaa, Oh man." Tears were welling up in his eyes at how pitiful Mike had turned out to be, he felt justified in his putting his foot down about not offering a position on the X-Men to him. Even though Scott had felt it important to have retention in as many of the students as they could, Logan knew better and he made it clear that Network would always be a second stringer. "Oh- OH that gets me.." He pounded his chest over his heart and immediately stopped laughing, a look of intensity coming on his face.
"..right here." He said it in a snarl. "Now listen to me Mr. Bigshot SHIELD Agent, you held yourself to my standard without even knowing what that standard is. I hold myself and all of the people I count on to a standard that no one can ever attain, and yer biggest problem Bub is never seeing that. You never raised your sights to what it is we X-Men do, what standard we hold. We go beyond what we can do, every day, for the good of a world that has no earthly idea we're even out there doin it, and that my friend is something your little.. what was it?.. 'lemming brain' just can't grasp."
"Yer not a bad guy Mike, yer just a guy. Heroic, sure yeah I'll give ya that, but ya need to really get yer shit together. Quit judging others, quit judging yerself, without knowing what yer judging for." He softened his face just a bit and half nodded his head to the one time student that had held such promise but never went beyond. What he could do without effort he did, but Network never had to dig in and look for more..until it counted, and when that day arrived he fell well short of the mark.
Turning, Logan looked at Lai then and said sincerely "He's got a lot of potential, and that's the tragedy. He just never did anything that required trying harder than he had to. Maybe that's cause his power made things easy for him, but that's his biggest shortcoming...really his only shortcoming. Well, that, and talking before he thinks but I hope you can inspire him to bring it better than I could. Least he seems ready to work for something now, for something with you, and that's a good start."

Not unlike everyone else, Lai sat their the whole time with wide eyes in shock and partial fear. She hadn't expected the quiet and composed exotic girl to lash out like that, and did she ever. At the end of the lashing, Lai found herself speechless and looking away almost in shame, but of what she wasn't sure. She had never seen Mike put in his place like that since he usually had a good deal of control over the conversation, and she couldn't deny the truth behind it. It was rare for the spirited Law student to be left speechless, but it happened.
When Logan started in, Lai just kept looking between him and Aideen, who at that moment had scorching heat waves coming from her body that made her have a feeling that if anyone else other than Logan said anything, they'd probably end up engulfed in flames. Logan's words proved true in the aspects that Lai could understand. Mike did have a lot of potential, and she had seen that in him once they started dating. He never did put effort into anything though, not with her especially. She did care for him, and thats why she stuck around.
She smiled slightly at Logan, patting Mike's thigh. "I plan to make him live up to his promise," Lai said squeezing his knee. She dared look over at the fuming Aideen and bit her lip nervously. "Um Aideen? I think you're making the chair char," she added timidly looking at the comfortable looking material of the chair char brown and black from the heat waves flowing off her body. At the moment Lai didn't want to set anyone off in a room full of mutants.

"Wow, both barrels huh?" Mike said shaking his head slowly. "I guess I had that coming for a while from you Logan. Thanks?" he was humbled and he really didn't know now himself what he was feeling. "Blew my heart outta my chest but I guess I earned it. So yea, ok I'm cool.. I'm good with that. 'Mike's an ass but he's got a lot of potential'. I only heard THAT my whole life."
"You know things do change, and Dylan'll tell ya if you don't believe me, I have changed. I'm not as much a mess as I usedta be." He turned to Lai and gave her a half smile "I was a REAL slob back in school, now I'm just sloppy- but I'm gonna do what the old man suggested and what I already said I was gonna do and step up to the plate."
A look back to Logan and he said "Sure I'm not an X-Man but I am in a position to do a lot of good for the world and I might get promoted to run a fire team soon. No, strike that, I will be promoted and that's a promise I'm making to myself and you can all hold me accountable. Look I have had things easy, and it's no excuse, but as hard as it's gonna be to break out of that mold I'm gonna do it."
"Let me start by swallowin my pride and apologizing." He cleared his throat "I'm sorry I'm so damn adorable that you can't help but forgive me. It's just my boyish charm and rugged good looks." He grinned a cheesy grin at Aideen and watched as the fire lit in her eyes. "OKaaay! Okay.. just kiddin. Look I am sorry, hell I don't know you from the Thing's Aunt Petunia, but what I said was off base and I'm sorry. You're fiery, sorta young, but you do seem to have your head on straight and if you can put up with that guy then you're a better man than me." He grinned again.
"Aww c'mon, Aideen I was just a little shocked is all.. and you can thank me later for what I put you two through because if you think what I said was rough, you better just not even go home to that school. Scott and Emma are gonna rip you two a couple of new assholes for this ya know." His heart went out to them both as he stopped himself a mid rant. He looked back and forth between Logan and Aideen seeing them both rising in anger again before he steadied his gaze and looked Aideen in the eyes.
"I am truly sorry for what I said and what I have done to upset you tonight. I'm not side steppin anything, I had no right to judge you and I hope you can forgive me. I'm not there yet, ya know. They say I've got a lotta potential to live up to and I hope you take that into account, but I have always been a stand up guy" he picked up Lai's hand off of his leg, closing his eyes he kissed it before he stood and looked again into the deep chocolate pools that were the eyes of the gypsy girl "and I'm standin up now to say I was wrong. I'd like it if we could be friends. Can ya find it in you to forgive me and give me a chance to change your mind about me?"

Aideen met his eyes evenly, not giving him an inch at the moment. Sincere as his apology was, and that much she could admit to, the firebender was not known to be easily swayed or won over. Right now, she wasn't having it from him. Rumble did a number on her tolerance back at the school, and ever since she snapped and threw him out the boathouse wall and without a doubt would have killed him had Iceman not stepped in, she simply wasn't having it from anyone. The beer in her hand practically had steam rising from it and she hat to set aside the beverage to prevent the glass from cracking from the heat. "However much potential you may have, has nothing to do with manners or common sense," Aideen responded in a soft even tone, though her words stung with anger, they were much calmer than just a moment ago.
Her eyes never left his, a mix of emotion swirling in the dark chocolate eyes that smoldered like the dangerous cinders of an open fire. She may have meant to say more, she may have not, no one could be sure. She looked over at Mason and Tracy and her expression in their regards softened. The night had been a hard one, she was less than happy as a result and she needed to remind herself that this was something she vowed to put her best effort into making pleasant for her friends. Putting her own animosity aside, she would not be the reason to prolong the tension. "We'll leave it at rest for now," she said tightly, not willing to say or give anymore than that.
Grabbing a fresh cold beer from the pack, steam actually rose from Aideen's hand when the frosty cold beer collided with her heated skin, making her shiver lightly from the contact. Using the desk as leverage to pop the cap off, she brought the bottle to her lips and prepped herself before she tipped the bottle back and took long neat sips of the cold liquid. It chilled all the way down her throat, making her visibly shiver as it cooled her body down to a reasonable temperature. She hated drinking completely cold beverages, they made her get the shakes, but if she didn't lower her body temperature somehow something would catch fire and she didn't feel like ruining the apartment. "Can't beat a cold beer right?" Aideen said after the last of the shivers passed her and she felt safe to sit back on the arm of the chair, her appetite mostly gone at this point but she knew that she had to eat a little of her meal to keep up with her nutritional schedule. With the protein bar she placed in the freezer, she'd be fine. Crossing her legs, she took another long sip of the beer and shivered again from the chilled beverage, acting as calm as ever.

Mason let out a long breath of he hadn't realized he'd been holding and slumped in his seat. "Holy shit man," he said in a breathy voice while shaking his head with a smirk. "I thought I was gonna have to jump up and take a hit for you. Damn man, you know she threw Rumble through the boathouse wall the other day?" He looked at Aideen with wide eyes and then back at Mike. "Look at her man, she's freaking tiny. Brock's got almost a foot on her, and at least 100lbs man. At least! And he's a heavy motherf@&ker too, I had to carry his drunk ass outta my car more than once, and he's still as vain and beefed up as ever. She threw him through the boathouse wall!" It was still a surprise that Aideen pulled that off despite her skills, if only on the factor of her size and strength that wasn't enhanced by any power.
He put a hand to his head and laughed in pure relief. "Here I am, prepping myself to do something so someone won't get hurt, and seriously Mike man, when you opened your mouth with that 'I'm sorry for being adorable', you saw me slap a hand to my face? I was expecting you to get fried," Mason said still half laughing at the whole thing. "You man," He pointed the nozzle of his beer at Logan and shook his head. "You did something to her. I don't believe in any shit of you taking advantage of her or nothing cause I know her, and she ain't that type. But that girl right there is not the same one that came to my team a couple of months ago. She's living up to her power more than ever, and leave it to Mike to bring it out." Now that the wide eyed situation of no one knowing what to do and all anticipating the worst from all three of them was over, Mason found that there was nothing left to do but laugh in relief, and he rarely laughed like that.
"Mike man, you changed too I gotta say. Had this happened years ago I don't think you woulda admitted you were wrong. This is just, aw hell it hilarious, nothing more to it," he said and still chuckled to himself, looking down at his Bamboo Beef calmly now since he completely stopped eating for that whole thing. "That was just, damn. I'm glad the only thing injured was the burnt corner of the chair." He took a forkful of the beef and chewed it with the same smirk on his face. "Good deal, heh. Nice to have a fight with no injuries," he added with a slight chuckle as fights amongst mutants almost always turned physical.

"Oh my, you threw him through a wall?!" Ingrid exclaimed with wide eyes after letting out a breath of relief. She had a feeling everyone had been holding their breath at one point, the tension in the room and the anticipation made it near impossible to breath. She was fortunately enough that Dylan had told her a lot about the school and the people that he could remember, mainly because she was just bursting with curiosity about the school. Growing up, she heard all about Captain Britain and would watch the news to see the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and the Avengers doing all these things to save the world. Sweden wasn't particularly hostile towards mutants and meta-humans, but there were other parts of Europe that were quite adamant about their hostile feelings toward them. Though Ingrid never held any of those hostile feelings toward them, she knew just from what she saw on the news and Dylan told her that they could be very dangerous.
Now that it seemed to have died down and Mason lessened the tension with his chuckling, she felt herself relax as well. She was right back to eating her noodles and listening to them all with wide eyes. "How did you manage to do that? Why did you?" Her eyes were wide in fascination as she took a sip of the Thai Iced tea. "I would love to be able to do something like that and teach some of those crazy people and jerks a lesson. I had been thinking about taking some self defense classes to just get the basics and not be completely helpless in a situation and depend only on my can of mace," Ingrid said with a small smile. She had a feeling that she'd be pretty much useless in any kind of fight. She was 5'10 without heels and weighed around 125lbs with only a slight muscle tone from her dancing and her regular workouts. She wasn't particularly strong and she wasn't a runner at all. Ingrid knew she'd be lucky to land a punch, let alone throw a guy two times her size through a wall.
Maybe if I did know how, tonight would have gone a little differently at the restaurant today. I could have perhaps done something to keep it from escalating the way it did and poor Mike wouldn't have almost died, she thought wringing her hands together and looking at the two girls with new eyes almost. She realized that both were trained in combat, and both could take care of themselves very well, even if they didn't look it.
Tracy looked just so sweet and so delicate, like she wouldn't hurt anyone. Dylan had told her before to not underestimate her by her looks, that she was in fact a very skilled healer and a formidable combatant. Ingrid didn't know if she quite believed it by looking at the petite girl with the sweet smile, but Dylan was quite insistent on it all. She was having a hard time picturing the curvy diminutive blond going Lara Croft on anyone, but she of all people should know better than to judge by appearances. Dylan hadn't told her anything about Aideen, being that he didn't know her, but Ingrid got a glimpse of how dangerous she was just a moment ago with her power alone. At first glance though, she didn't look like someone who could be all that threatening, let alone throw someone else through a wall. She was rather small too, with slim gentle curves and a nice tone to her muscles, but not the kind that would look threatening. Looking at them, it made Ingrid wonder if she should be wary of more people.
"Oh um, sorry, you do not have to answer, I am just a curious thing, and I will be honest it makes me laugh thinking that you can throw someone Mike's size through a wall!" She said with a giggle looking at Mike. He towered over Aideen and sounded close to the description that Mason gave of that Rumble guy. It was actually almost comical to look at it all with how odd it must have looked to see that happen. "It is almost like something from a movie to imagine," she added with another giggle.

Despite herself, Aideen felt Ingrid growing on her, though she probably wouldn't admit it. She could appreciate the girl's polite nature, and how she stopped herself when on the verge of being intrusive. It was also because she felt that empathy with her on a level that no one else really understood. True Aideen had only one person that obsessively wanted her, but at the degree that it escalated she may just have traded places with Ingrid. It actually felt nice to have someone who understood slightly, but at the same time Ingrid probably allowed it to effect her more than she should have, whereas Aideen did everything in her power to avoid dealing with it and avoid letting it effect her life.
"I had been putting up with him for months at that point. He's nothing if not persistant," she said bitterly pushing a hair out of face while the guard in her eyes came right back up. "He cornered me in the boathouse, and walked around trying to play his favorite cat and mouse game. The one where he circles me and its supposed to intimidate me, because you know him having a y chromosome and being alive is supposed to make me submissive. He started talking trash like he usually did, but decided to bring Logan into it because of a recent incident that ended with him thrown out the window." Aideen couldn't hold back the smirk at the memory of seeing Logan just pick him up and chuck him out the window. It was a great moment, and just thinking about it had it relive the feelings of shock, flattery, and that hot feeling that spread through her body at watching him deliver punch after punch.
She bit her lip to keep a smile from spreading on her face and straightened up to keep her composure and not get completely lost in the past moment. "But he decided to test me on that terrain, and at one point suggested burying him to see how long he could survive 200 feet underground. After everything that I had to deal with from him in two days I just snapped. He had already been standing behind me, so it wasn't hard to grab his arm and balance my weight to flip him over me. The adrenaline rush was possibly a reason behind it as well. After months, that was the first time I didn't stop with one hit. I kept hitting him, and I won't lie it felt great. He's only alive now because Iceman stopped me from finishing the job." Aideen said the last part with a slight tone of regret. She would have done it, and not shed a single tear or lost a night's sleep, but she'd never disobey a superior.
"You can learn how to do that easily enough. It's not about how big someone is or how strong, it's about balancing you're own weight and using the correct force to manipulate someone no matter what their size and height. I suppose for that to be complete, you must learn you're own body's strength and limits." She added putting the Spicy Pad Thai aside that was only a quarter eaten and took a sip of her beer. "He knows about us, or at least suspects," she added looking down at Logan, remembering that she neglected to mention that earlier. "I really don't care, it's nothing that I can't handle it's just an added pain in the ass, so prepare for that." She knew Rumble and knew he would hold his suspicion over her head and try and use it against her. Aideen didn't care though, she wasn't ashamed and honestly had nothing to hide, but like with everything else in her life she was a private person that didn't advertise. She just knew that her next encounter's with Rumble would probably be less than pleasant.

"Yeah, I figured he had a line on what we've been up to. He watches you like a hawk and it's rough enough to keep myself in check around you, but when he would pull his little stunts, well damn if it wasn't all I could do to not kill the crazy son of a bitch." Logan put his food down to the side and thought as he chewed. He considered so much more now than he did in his day to day routine at the school. From his perspective now he saw how strong, how truly willfully strong his woman was, and it filled him with pride as it filled him with rage. "I know you can handle it, but you shouldn't haveta. I don't want you to haveta... Hell."
"I don't know how I coulda let it go on that long. I shoulda stepped in and stomped his guts out myself. Dammit, you never shoulda had to dirty your hands to touch him. I thought I was doin the right thing, but to hell with what's right by anybody's book but my own from now on." He grabbed his beer and drained it in a couple of gulps, letting the cool of the liquid and the fizz of the bubbles wash the bile of rage from his throat. He did not want to sound harsh, it wasn't her fault, she never asked for the attention, and he didn't want his tone of voice to be violent Mason was right about non violent confrontation and Logan wanted to maintain the calm as long as he could.
"I got no problem turnin that kid inta bait for your buddy Stoney and the little guy, so I just hope he don't give me a reason... heh, that's not even realistic is it?" He chuckled at the idea that Brock would leave well enough alone and just go about his merry way. The chuckles faded quickly as the harshness of what lay before him when they got home settled into his mind. Without remorse and without humor he said "I guess I gotta resign myself to the simple fact that I will be killin that boy soon enough." He drained the last of his beer then.
He hated to have to do it, if only for the aftermath and what would become of his place in the world. He knew the act would be the catalyst for him being cast out of the school and the X-Men, but a part of him relished the idea. The beauty of ending the suffering of his love with a simple stroke of his unbreakable claws, or a well placed pressure point strike, or even a bone crunching choke hold. It would be the end of things as he knew them, pre-meditated murder was one of the few things he knew even Emma would frown upon, and yet he would do that for her, for his Aideen, his Angel Eyes. "I can't sit idly by any longer while that psychopath twists reality to suit his own views. I know the kid is sick in the head, but it don't give him a pass on bein a responsible human being. And you can say I'm just justifyin it, but the way I see it he's gonna wind up killin bunches more innocent people before he's through."
Logan had done some snooping and read the Hellion's file. It couldn't be proven, not by the way that slick old White Queen had written up his dossier, but there was a better than decent probability that he had caused a dozen or more fatalities in the earthquakes that ravaged the west coast in the late 90's. "Earthquakes, that's his thing. I see you lookin confused over there doll," he said to Lai "so he could do a whole mess of damage if he woke up one day and decided to go and have some of what he would call 'fun'."
