Hurrying back to her room, only a moment spared for a grasp of Ian's hand and a longing glance before they parted in the hall. I hate that he wont let me kiss him like I used to she remembered gentle kisses and hugs that he used to share with her, even when others were around, but she never really knew how much it bothered him. Even though he protested some she thought it was just his way of playing the tough-guy, and she adored him for it all the more but if it really bothers him, well what the hell am I supposed to do? I don't want to make him hate me for loving on him in public, how stupid would that be? But I could really use a hug right about now she thought as she walked briskly to her room shaking her head and wondering when she'd become so needy for affection.
I ain't gonna be the last one to the jet she assured herself as her pace had picked up to almost a run. The cold metal handle of her dorm room reminded her again of Aideen's absence, not that she needed reminding gotta move my ass. Like Logan said, we got no time to waste She shut the door behind her and stripped down to her bra and panties as she crossed the room to her closet where her uniform was. She was glad he had named her first among the students that were joining him Yeah, he had to know I was gonna go no matter what he said. There's no way I was staying behind on this one.. she didn't want to think about what it would be like waiting around for her best friend to be rescued without actually joining with the group to go get her.
Friggin weird though she kicked her clothes into the closet as she pulled her uniform out and tossed it on the bed Wolverine ain't really a people person.. least not that I ever seen him to be.. 'Perpetual Loner' was what The Brotherhood taught me about him, and one of the things that had to have tipped Rumble as to what was up. No wonder he knew how to exploit maybe the guy's like, only weakness.. if you can call it that. she slipped her rather risque uniform on a leg at a time and pulled the belts snug as her fingers flew fumblingly fast at fastening the buckles. Haste makes waste yea, but there's no time - gotta move faster
Strange yes for him to want to work with others but, hell he took the whole roomful of us, except the teachers that had classes and Emma and the Doc. She flopped down on the bed and pulled on first one boot then the other. NO- not strange at all.. I seen the changes in him, in them both.. even as they tried to hide it, and why not.. who can't love her!?! I mean she's the reason why I'm here Niki looked around the room and realized it was the first place she ever lived where she was truly wanted and welcomed. ..don't care what Cyclops says, I ain't movin. This is my room too and Aideen is my friend before she's anybody's team mate.
The room wasn't all that large, but she had lived in smaller and danker places. Homeless she had taken shelter where she could and when she found herself living in the whorehouse on Fifth she had a far less wonderful 'room mate'. That fat skeevy old dyke she could remember fighting off the groping hands trying to cop a feel in the middle of the night. The smell of grease from the kitchen mixed with pine from the cleaning of the rest of the house, but never from cleaning the room she was forced to sleep in. There to keep an eye on me and keep me from running out, but that isn't what kept me there the Madam's cousin, the maid of the place and a poor excuse for it she was, was who Niki was recalling, though she didn't let her mind wander to her reason for staying there... that held too much pain for her, besides she didn't need money here. She could still see the woman's scabby face and the mole with the hairs growing out of it. Only one of many people she had fought off in the night, every night of her life it seemed and she guessed that this room was possibly the first room she had ever felt safe enough to actually sleep through the night in.
Don't get sidetracked goin back there, you got better memories to think of she shook her head and hopped off the bed to reach back into her closet for the long gloves of her Acolyte uniform. Like the last time you were on the Blackbird, scary yea, but Aideen was there she thought back to that ride, returning from something beyond the scope of what she ever thought possible and the impending doom of all she faced at the school. The pair of them sat in the back of the jet and smiled and talked and with Aideen there things didn't seem all that impossible, or unconquerable, Niki didn't want that ride to end. She had made her choice, reclaimed her soul and shouldered the blame for all she had done but she wouldn't have if it hadn't have been for the one person who had made a difference in her life, the girl who had started her thinking she was worthy of a friend.
Sliding aside the clothes on the hangars to grab her gloves off the hook she hung them on at the back of her closet her hand slid across the top Aideen gave her that night they got back. Grabbing the gloves she stepped back to look at all she had, and all she had been given by her friend.. not just things, though much of what she owned was given to her or suggested by Aideen when the pair would shop online... but her life here at the school, as well as her future, all of it a byproduct of the love the firebender had for Niki. She felt herself breaking down, tears starting to flow and fall from her face as she fought them back. No! Not like this, don't do this now... hold onto this, the sorrow and the fear of never seeing her again.. let it turn, use it for what it's good for.. let it turn into rage for the shitheads that took her.. use it to make em pay for what they done to her.. Niki didn't have many skills the civilized world would consider worthwhile, but fighting and surviving and turning every emotion she ever felt into righteous rage did have their merits at certain times, and this was definitely one of them. Pulling on her gloves she grabbed her leather jacket to throw on over her uniform and was gone from their room a moment later.
Feet flying under her she rushed through the halls, the school a virtual blur as she rounded bends and took the stairs a flight at a time, sliding down them with a wide flat bottom to her forcefield like a surfboard. Many of the students now just waking, those late to rise completely unaware what the day already had in store for the chosen few she was destined to join.. thankful to join. The solitary ride down in the elevator the slowest part of her dash to the hangar. Finding the chamber silent and dark she threw the power switch to the lights. As they flickered on above she saw she was the first to arrive and she breathed in the silence. She was not the same Niki Sanchez who had come to this place, not even the same Niki who had stepped off that Blackbird months before, and as she looked at it looming huge and black before her she knew she was a better person for having made the choices she made. For giving this place, and herself, a chance.. and, though some might disagree... learning to be 'on her guard with a cooler head' as someone once suggested to her.

"Hey there Kiddo," Bobby said coming in a moment later, completely in uniform and ready to get iced up at the first sign of danger. He attempted a grim smile, but it was more forced than any smile he had in awhile. The whole situation was still shocking him, not fully settling on him and the possibilities of the situations were kept at a distance. Bobby's method of dealing with horrible things, his full proof method that worked for him through all these years was to think positively about situation and stray away from the worst case scenarios. His mind tried to stay focused on the fact that they would find them, that they would be okay and they'd be back in time for breakfast tomorrow.
Thus was Bobby's position in the X-Men. He wanted to keep the hope alive and to keep the others from throwing in the towel even in the most hopeless situations. He had to admit though, this was a tough situation for him to stay optimistic. Chopper was his buddy, and one hell of a video game player. For the sake of his own state of mind he couldn't think of what could happen to the little guy if they got there too late. The same way he refused to think about Liv's potential fate, the spunky little farm girl made him smile and he didn't want to think about anything that could happen to jade her.
Looking at Niki's pale face, he saw through the facade of putting up a strong front because he did it all the time himself. After all these years, he could easily recognize when someone was doing the same. Bobby knew all too well from experience how much it hurts when a best friend could end up in a situation many would say was worse than death. Hell, he liked Aideen too, though he was never able to get all that close with her like he did with other students. He saw a lot of good in her right from the beginning, and the way he had figured it at least her and Wolverine seemed close so she wasn't totally closed off from everyone.
That was another testy subject for Bobby right then. It never crossed his mind that the friendship between the firebender and the feral mutant could be more than that, but after he thought about it, it made sort of sense... though he still found it weird. He had a thing for older women though, so really he was in no place to judge. All that aside, he couldn't imagine what Logan was going through to see his girl in that kind of a position. He wasn't sure if he was really completely comfortable with the idea of the two of them together, but that didn't mean that he wouldn't help in any way he could.
Bobby wasn't in any position to place judgments on morals, especially not then when that was the last thing anyone needed. "You look ready to kick some serious behinds," he said sighing slightly and looking at the Blackbird. "We're gonna get 'em back you know. Aideen, she's a tough chick, and I know if anyone can get outta something like that, it's her," he added earnestly trying to reassure her a bit before they took off. Bobby squeezed Haven's shoulder in comfort, at least to let her know she wasn't alone.

"Uh? Oh, hey Bobby.." she seemed to snap out of her malaise at his touch, if only slightly, yet the anger still boiled underneath it all unyieldingly. "..yeah. I was just thinking about it all ya know." She didn't hate Iceman, she didn't necessarily like him either, but he was a stand up kinda guy that left the kids alone to be whoever they were gonna be without putting much pressure on them, so he was alright in her book. "I'm gonna do way more'n just kick a culo or two, believe it Ducky." "Just to get the chance to hunt down whoever's got 'em feels good, ya know. Least ya know it wont get screwed up with me and Wolverine doin it," she looked at him and took in his expression. She was serious about what she was saying. The fact that she didn't want to see any part of this out of her own hands was really telling and showed how much she cared that it was done right, but at the same time how little she yet trusted those around her when push came to shove. "Well, whatever man, I know it wont."
She didn't really care if she hurt his feelings or if she was seen as rude or any other judgment he might make on her. Calling her a bully was not going to get him added to Niki's Christmas list. In fact she was pretty pissed off at him, and not too pleased with the rest of the teachers, her buddy the Doc the one exception.. and now she guessed she could add Logan to the non offenders list. As far as she was concerned this was a first for the teachers, at least since the events of Limbo.
She had to, time and again, take matters into her own hands because the teachers never took it upon themselves to raise a finger to intervene.. except in matters that involved her it seemed, and even then it hadn't been for months now. She recounted their most recent 'dropping of the ball' and how Niki had to deal with that whole Frostbite thing, just her and Ana. She was excited about working with her again, not to mention teaming up with Ian and getting out to make a difference in the world. The tension she was feeling was all a part of her using every little bit of anxiety and frustration to fuel the fire in her belly, and when Splice came in she added that much more to it.

It took Jocelyn less than a couple of minutes to get ready, her image inducer attached to the side of her green short shorts made from specially made Atlantean material that enabled them to be resistant to the coldest of waters and the driest of lands. Her long ink black hair hung loose on her shoulders and the hair that framed her face were pinned back with her coral comb to stay out of the way. A little back slung over her shoulder had a select few small Atlantean Weapons that her Uncle Namor gave her and an extra image inducer, just in case. It didn't take her long because she was determined to help out, more so determined for there to be a peace within her family again.
Jocelyn couldn't begin to count the number of things all the X-Men had done for her, but she knew very well that in a lot of ways they saved her behind just by bringing her into their life. She refused to see her family be brought down again, and Logan had a point when they walked back together to the rec room; he had always been there for all of them. The attachment and love that Jocelyn felt for him and the other X-men fueled that determination to make things right again.
It was odd in a way to be going with the group, especially since most of them had personal attachment to those on the video and Jocelyn was one of the few that couldn't honestly say the same. Sure she thought Aideen was beyond gorgeous and Liv was fun, Chopper was a cool guy too, but she didn't know any of them all that well. Chopper she remember arrived just as she was leaving, but that didn't mean she had any sort of attachment to him either. The Half Atlantean's loyalties were with the X-Men and their well being was her main concern. When she was really little, if she ever got teased or bullied by any of the older students, Logan would be among the first that put them in her place. He had in all essence always been there for her, even when she annoyed the living crap out of him and he was ready to rip his hair out. There was no way that she wouldn't take the first chance she had to help him get the happiness that he desperately deserved.
The black material of her fitted cropped tank top glinted slightly in the light as Jocelyn walked into the Hanger, her ocean blue eyes immediately brightening slightly when they fell on Bobby. Her relationship with Bobby was always a fun one, and she adored him just as much. He helped her come out of her shell and was the push that got her rolling into a flurry of pranks and mischief shortly after he arrived. "Hey Ice guy," Joce said with a slight smile. She didn't bother acknowledging Haven, for a number of reasons really. She didn't think the girl would want any company or words, especially from her which was just fine with Jocelyn. She had no desire to speak to her anyways. "Want me to open up the plane so we can at least get in? Logan's probably expecting us to be ready by the time he gets here anyways." She already made her way to the area where they kept the controls, trying to remember exactly where the switch to open the plane was located.

Hair pulled back in a high ponytail, an uncharacteristically nervous and timid Ana walked in after Jocelyn. The cool and confident aloof aura she normally held was nowhere in sight. Ever since Wolverine named her part of his little crew, she had just frozen up in fear. Had it been any other time, she would have flat out refused, but looking at Karma's heartbroken face, she couldn't do it. As much as she wanted to be above everyone, it was impossible to do in a situation like they had in front of them. Ana knew she'd feel horrible had she said no, and frankly Wolverine scared her and didn't think he'd accept no as an answer anyways.
Taking a deep breath, she tried to compose herself so she wouldn't seem too shaken up as she walked to the group, chin held high. The last thing she needed was for people to think that she was some pathetic little weakling. Ana may be skinny, but she was by no means fragile or weak, and she wouldn't stand for anyone thinking otherwise. Instead, she focused that small bit of anger she had toward her asshole boyfriend. What kind of an asshole leaves his scared and upset girlfriend behind just like that? It was so rare for Ana to get like that, and the second she tried to seek out comfort, it was a few pats on the back and 'oh sorry babe gotta go' and just leave her there. <Stupid ass. I'm not even going to bother anymore, this whole thing was stupid, and I shouldn't keep wasting my time with a lost cause. He can do whatever he wants. I don't even know him all that well, and now he won't even know I'm gone. Serves him right.>
Ana smiled timidly at Iceman, feeling more comforted that he would at least be there. "Hallo Bobby. We leaving soon? Where is Wolverine?" Her ice blue eyes studied the area, landing on Jocelyn for a moment, a flash of anger crossing her eyes. <Great, just when I want to stop thinking about him, she's coming along. I wonder if I must have done something wrong? Maybe the teacher forgot to go over some key points about dating men in a higher class when I attended etiquette school... NO! No I am not thinking about this or him. He can kiss my behind, I am done with that.> Ana looked back at Iceman and smiled slightly, glancing briefly at Haven and decidedly keeping her distance from her.

"You don't have to hide it Chesty.. you know I already know how you feel, but we're all going to do what we do best- just the same as Logan always says- right?" She smiled as she looped an arm around the thick forearm of Chester. The contrast of their different team uniforms playing off of one another as the pair of older students came into the hangar a moment later. "So relax and listen to the plan and do like you do always and be that anchor that the Hellions always need for the team you're with now."
"It's odd at first I know," she smiled up at him as she patted his arm with her other hand "but listen to me because I have a lot of experience 'freelancing' with whoever needs me, the key is to do whatever you have to do and follow not just the chain of command and whatever the person in charge asks of you but also to listen to your heart and trust you instincts because a good leader is going to count on you doing just that when the chips are down." She was giving him the pep talk, and it wasn't because he had never been on any mission before, by all accounts he had done his fair share along with the rest of Emma's hit squad, but the state of his emotions let her feel that her voice and talking about well, anything at all, was helping to steady him. She had never before known the giant to be as deep as she was feeling him to be right now and for better or worse they were bringing him along so she was doing her part to shore up his emotional defenses.
"How are you doing Ana?" she asked, knowing full well the girl was not completely steady inside. Giving her the benefit of asking her what she might be feeling was the least Tracy could do though, since she'd learned the hard way that speaking about people's feelings without asking about them was more than a little bit off-putting. A soft smile was the warmest way she could break the ice with the girl, it was amazing how a smile could help, and she stopped walking with Chester to let him stand there with the two girls face to face. She took a quick glance up at him as she gave a soft squeeze to his arm and let it go before she took both of Ana's hands in her own and asked "Can I beg a favor of you? I'm going to be right back, but can you wait right here.. with Chester if he wants to stay, and when you see um, what is that girl's name?.." she pulled one hand away and covered her mouth with embarrassment "oh my goodness, I canNOT believe I forgot it- oh, Ricki, right.." she shook her head at her own stupidity as she took Ana's hand again "when you see her can you collect her up? I want to make sure our little crew that's staying on the 'bird has it's bearings.. since we're going to be relied upon for a lot of things that never get mentioned."
She smiled again as she let go of the slender delicate hands and thanked her warmly. Excusing herself from the unlikely pair she turned to see her dear friend, who was hard to miss and who she had spotted when she first entered the hangar, fiddling with the controls for the back ramp of the Blackbird. "Are you trying to break that thing Bluezilla?" She giggled as she stepped up next to Splice and pulled her into a one armed hug as her other arm reached up and she keyed the access code to drop the ramp. "What an awful way to start the week, how are you holding up?" She took in the look of her soul sister and former team mate, rolling her own eyes at the shock contained in Jocelyn's. "Yes, I ask now.. some things have changed."

"Damn girl, I know I said Mason loosened you up, but I guess I can say it with a double meaning now," Jocelyn said with a grin, winking at Tracy to make her blush. Kelly and Shade's influences were undeniable in the Half Atlantean, never missing a chance to say a sexual innuendo. The grin was short lived though, which was expected given their circumstances. She shrugged her shoulders and looked back over at the Blackbird to see if the others had arrived, her eyes falling. "I'm fine, I'm worried about Chester. I've never seen the guy so emotional. And Logan, wow I've never seen him so broken up." Her ocean blue eyes met Tracy's, holding her friend's gaze. "I can't afford to be not fine. Chester's not fine cause of Chopper. And Logan is really not fine cause of Aideen. For their sake, I can't not be anything but fine," Jocelyn said with a sigh, glancing over at the group again.
"It's funny, for so long both Chester and Logan were the rock for so many of us, and now they're the ones that need someone to lean on and keep them stable. I owe it to both of them." She couldn't keep her ocean eyes from taking on the stormy looking of sadness. "I hate it you know? Logan's been through so much, and damn if I don't feel like an idiot for not being able to see that there was something between him and Aideen from that time in the garage. He deserves that kind of happiness. As much as I love Jean, I hated how she strung Logan along like that. I mean you were there too, you saw what it had done to him. And he was already bitter as it was. It's just not fair!" Jocelyn glanced back at Tracy and shook her head, trying to find the right way to word her feelings.
"Looks like we got the roles of being the rocks this time Cupcake. Hell, you need someone to lean on too don't you Trace?" For a split second she forgot that her friend was emotionally invested in the whole situation. Her stormy ocean eyes softened, reaching out and grabbing Tracy's hand. Her head cocked to the side, smile coming on her face to try and comfort Tracy the way she comforted everyone else. "We're gonna get them back you know? And hey, if Aideen is tough enough to handle Logan, she can handle anything." Jocelyn squeezed her hand and leaned down to rest her head on Tracy's shoulder to comfort her as best as she could.

"Believe me, I know how tough she really is. I had first hand experience this weekend in Boston, so there's no question in my mind about her ability to handle a situation, but there are other variables, and I don't think she's trained for these sorts of contingencies." She sighed as she leaned her head against Jocelyn's and stroked her ink black hair. "She is like some kind of precision scalpel in the hands of a master surgeon. Highly trained, and unyielding. I can tell you she has almost no emotional connection when the moment of truth comes and she must act.. but with Chopper and Liv there, well those are the variables I'm talking about."
"As for me? I'm keeping it together. That minor breakdown in the rec-room, well, I haven't felt that much raw emotion for some time now and from people I have known for so long. Some of them at least, and I just wasn't expecting that kind of thing from every one of the X-Men and all the others there all at once, and.. I just.. I.." she stopped then. Stopped talking. Stopped trying to make excuses for herself, and just accepted that she was as fallible and human as any other soul amongst them and just kissed Jocelyn's temple. "Thank you. I'll take all the help I can get sweetheart. You and I both know we all need each other now more than ever. Ororo would be so proud of how far we've come, wouldn't she."
She had been nodding to what Jocelyn had said about Chester and Wolverine, so it went without saying that she understood how important she and Jocelyn were going to be for this rescue mission. Certainly there were others like Peter and Bobby to keep spirits lifted and keep everyone focused on the mission, but the two ladies had something of a Goddess's wisdom from their upbringing and in them lived the spirit of their former team leader Storm. She would never give up in any situation and always held respect for others to be a wonderful attribute, so between the two of them they might bring that spirit along on this ride. Tracy knew in her heart though that she was comforted by Splice's presence and every little bit helped. "We'll do what we can for Logan and Chester, and everyone else. It's in our nature to nurture."
Tracy stroked her friend's hair once more as she thought about how far the two of them really had come. From such humble beginnings the two young women had grown up nicely and were now considering their place as pillars to hold up some of the bravest people the pair had known. "..and loosened me up!?!" She took the opportunity to break the tension of the moment as she lifted Jocelyn's face with a single slender finger under her chin. "You of all people ought to know Joce, there are exercises you can do to fix that." Her smile beamed on her face for a moment before a giggle escaped, then suddenly she stopped as she turned to look at the footsteps that were coming in and the emotional echo that surrounded them. "Oh lord, from what Logan implied I'm guessing he's going to be with you." She said nodding her head at Diesel as he walked in. "And he's been friends with Aideen almost as long as his girlfriend has so you can probably imagine what kind of a read I'm getting right now from his emotions."

Ian didn't even bother to offer Gavin any explanations when he searched through the room for his uniform and pretty much tripped over everything in sight. Ian and Gavin were far from organized or clean, and he ended up waking his roommate in the process. Despite the groggy questions that came, Ian didn't bother to take a breath. Brushing his teeth really quick, he left a flabbergasted and confused Gavin behind and rushed right down to the Hanger, nearly knocking over a couple of students in the process.
The doors to the Hanger banged open, Ian barreling through and stopped abruptly to look around, a more determined look on his face than earlier as he looked around at the small group of people that had already gathered around the Blackbird. It was like the adrenaline was pumping in him, and he wanted to get going then and get his friends back. Liv and him just started getting close, and damnit, this was Aideen, who helped all their butts out more than once. Ian didn't know how someone like her could be captured by anyone, or really be held in place, but it didn't matter. He knew that she would be the first to volunteer if it was anyone in her place, and Ian wasn't going to let her down.
"Well, what are we standing around here for? Come on guys we gotta get on the plane and get our girls and uh little dude back!" Ian said with a slightly harsh look twisting up his features. "Let's go!" He ushered the others on to the plain, being enough of a gentleman to give Ana a hand up and help Niki in as well. A part of him kept panicking that they were wasting time every second they stood around here. "Anyone seen Kurt dude or Logan? I'da thought they were the first ones here," Ian asked looking around for the people in question.

It hadn't been more than ten minutes for Kurt, and he knew he was going to get a pointed earful from Logan for not going straight down to prep the Blackbird for liftoff, but he was not about to leave Shan in such a way without some words to comfort her. He had walked her back to her room, which adjoined the Alpha Squadron's oversized sleeping and play area Chopper himself had dubbed the 'Squad-Room', only to take the time to make certain she was secure in her heart as well as her mind that everyone would return safe. He gave her his word he would do all he could, and reminded her that with Tracy on site she would be able to take care of any injury.
His worry for his friend satiated, he bamf'ed back to his room and threw a few things in a sack, just in case the young ladies he would be with for much of the mission might need something of comfort before he teleported to Emma's Office to collect up Peter. He'd agreed, in hushed tones as they had all left the rec room, to get him for a quick trip down to the hangar after he took Shan to her room. He hoped and Colossus had time to take possession of the five thousand dollars Logan requested be signed out to them.
Kurt had little clue what the money might be used for but was not at all surprised to see Colossus volunteer to take the responsibility for it. Of the four fellows Logan lumped together he knew Peter to be a most responsible man, and least likely to waste a moment in the transaction. Not that Robert would have been any less responsible, Kurt knew he could keep his playful streak in check, but the stalwart Russian just made the most sense to hold the cash.
~BaMF~ He kept it simple as he arrived in Emma's chambers "Ja. Ve all ready here?" The look from the Headmistress and the nod from Colossus told him yes so with a "Zhen ve vill take our leave. Jou know ve vill all do zhe best ve can." His piercing yellow eyes looked into Emma's very soul, no longer the black pit he had known of her from days gone by, and left her with as much promise of success as he could.
Again a ~BaMf~ and this time with Peter by his side the two arriving, in a cloud of Brimstone, found themselves under the wing on the far side of the Blackbird. Kurt didn't want to chance teleporting into a space where someone might have been standing and felt that location to be a safe enough entry point. "Ahh look, zhey are boarding as ve speak. I Have much to do, excuse me." he said patting his old friend on the shoulder and teleporting again, quickly, into the pilot's seat to begin to fire up their ride. He had a lot of catching up to do and he was already preparing himself by bracing for the worst from Logan when arrived to find the engines cold. Spinning to look back at those just boarding he spoke with a lightness in his voice, to lift the spirits as best he was able. "Guten tag mein friends. Let's see if ve can get zhis old lady of ours off zhe ground- Ja?" He winked at them who might be able to see him and spun back to let his three-fingered hands dance over the control panels before him.

Wheeling his Harley out of the freight style equipment elevator he looked back over his shoulder at Taffy who he'd had to hurry along. "Move it toots.. don't make me regret bringin you on this trip any more than I already do!" Finding her distracted and not making any sort of attempt to get down to the hangar with any haste he'd had to light a fire under her ass to get her to hustle. "Look if it's gonna be too much for ya then you ain't gotta come. Stay here if ya don't think yer up to it cause I ain't got time to wet nurse some little- HEY!" Logan stopped breaking his foot off in Ricki's ass just as he realized the engines for the Blackbird were not running yet. "What the- KURT..." He swung his leg over his hog and cranked the throttle wide open it as he started it up with a roar. Leaving a hot sloppy squiggled line of smoking rubber on the deck of the hangar behind him he drove his bike up into the belly of the bird. "KURT! Why ain't this thing hot and ready to trot? We gotta get to the city. Why do you think I wanted the-" he put his kickstand down and turned off the bike's engine. Catching his breath, and his temper, he took a long deliberate inhale and checked his tone. They were all looking at him and he didn't need to show his ass like this in front of all of them. They were looking to him, hoping for him to have it all figured out and to be storng a nd wise and lead them the best he could. He would, like he had in times past, and he'd do it his way.. but with a little less rage. "Look I was expecting a little more from you people here. I'm not one to apologize for other people letting me down and so if this doesn't apply to you then pay it no mind, but we have loved ones to save and if you think this is going to be easy then yer just kidding yerselves. I expect to see you all strapped in and ready for liftoff and I want this Bird.. in the air.. ASAP!!.." He barked at Kurt and then spun to call out the back ramp to the two still standing there as he began to lash his Harley down. "...and that means YOU TWO out there!! So let's do this! Move it!" Moments later as Kurt finished the pre-flight and everyone who was going was belted in, they wasted not a second more- They launched! Straight up and out of the open maw that was the ceiling of the hangar on one side and the asphalt of the basketball court on the other. Yellow light flashing and klaxon sounding it's warning. The force of the downward vectored thrust was always a thrill but this time Logan was not anything but anxious to get airborne and begin to share the plan he'd cooked up so far and see what help, if any, some of these young imaginations might bring to the table. A glance out of the window and below them the school grounds shrunk away fast. He could see the young fliers coming out for Rogue's class, the horses out as well for their morning exercise, and a Bugatti Veyron just peeling out on it's way from the garage. "Alright I hope yer all ready for this cause I'm puttin my faith in each of you." He said leaning in to speak to them with the quite calm of a coach trusting in his team. He'd become much better versed at locking away the monster and it was a good thing, since some of the faces he saw looking at him were barely ready for this thing he was asking them to do. His faith was in them all though and he began to run down his checklist. "Pete, ya get that money? Splice, how bout that image inducer?"

Jocelyn, who seated herself close to Logan anyways, tapped the little beeper like device attached to her shorts. "Got it right here. I even brought the extra one that Henry gave me just in case," she said before holding up the small bag slung across her body for him to see. The image inducer was made specifically for her body chemistry that allowed her to take on a solid image of whatever person she could apply within the settings or the saved settings. If someone where to touch her, they would feel the figure as a whole, but it was more used to deceive others that she was indeed a solid figure that her image inducer showed. It was advanced technology that Jocelyn knew Beast pulled a lot of strings to obtain so he could make it for her, so she took extra good care of it.
Her stormy ocean eyes were trained on Logan, taking in his every feature and trying to decipher his mood and thoughts. "Logan? Where exactly are we going?" she asked tentatively, knowing that he knew way more than he revealed to her back in the forest. A part of her was extremely nervous about what the possibilities might be, and when she looked over at Ana and Ricki, a part of her really hoped it wouldn't be something too dangerous.
Though reluctant to look away from Logan, she couldn't help but allow her eyes to travel over some of the members of the party, probably the oddest bunch ever. Her eyes softened when she looked at Tracy and Stoney, knowing they were both trying to deal with a similar pain that she saw reflecting in Logan's eyes. It made her swallow slightly before she looked back at the feral mutant in anticipation.

From his seat next to Kurt, Piotr held up a thick manila envelope that he took from the safe. "We have exactly $5,200 for now, all cash. Emma informed me that should we need any more money, Ana here offered to provide necessary funds from her account," he said smiling slightly when he looked at the pretty New Mutant. It always interested him that despite the exterior image that many presented themselves with, there was always so much more to them. Up until he spoke to Emma moments ago, he never thought that the high strung and short tempered beauty would ever offer help in that manner, so he was thoroughly impressed.
Piotr looked back at Logan, holding back a smile at how Jocelyn stuck herself to him in what he recognized was a protective stance. It did his soul well to see that at least one of their kids that had been with them for years was still safe and ready as ever to fight, especially now that he had the honor of acting as her team leader. "Is the current amount of money required for..." Piotr trailed off, having no idea what they were in for and looked at Logan curiously.
"As Jocelyn said, what are we doing exactly? Is Kurt flying anywhere in particular? I mean to ask what our first move will be. You certainly picked an interesting team of people to bring together." He looked around at all of the eccentric team that Logan assembled, wondering what they could possibly do to involve all of them. It made him nervous that there were a fair few students with them on what he knew would be a very dangerous mission. There were horror stories going around his town back in Russia, warning families to never allow their daughters to walk the streets alone, as they will be stolen away and never seen again. The women were sold as Mail-Order Russian brides most of the time assuming they didn't get into a life of prostitution. It was a very dangerous market though, that much Piotr knew for sure.
He forced himself to focus solely on Logan, as the image of what their students and newest team member must be enduring was enough to drive one to the point of madness. He did know that all of them needed to know all the details, and anything that could better up their chances at getting back their own. Piotr privately thought that this was a loss that none of them could afford to risk.

Looking at Piotr the first thought that came to mind was how the Russian's heart was always in the right place, but Logan didn't want the help. Not from the Fin.. not from any of them, not really, he was only willing to take it because the odds were slightly better with help. Jocelyn's words had made sense when she'd spoke them there in the woods and they still made sense now as the thrust from the engines shifted from vertical to horizontal and the X-Jet swung lurchingly forward shifting all in their seats.
"I got a rendezvous Emma's helpin me with.. couple of places ta check out after that.. few leads ta run down, but don't worry bout me" his eyes flicked to Haven and he said with just a hint of sarcasm "I got backup." He'd been on the phone with Castle to see what, if anything, that guy was able to scrounge up and to find out what time he might get back someplace where they could compare notes.
"You, though" he pointed at him as he looked back to speak to Colossus and kept pointing at those he mentioned in turn as he said each name "along with Bobby, Chesty, Ian and Waterlily here." He nudged Jocelyn with his elbow and turned to wink at her before drawing all their attention in by pulling his hand together into a fist. "I got a plan for you guys, alright listen.. after Haven and me bail out Kurt's gonna land on a rooftop so you five can get out and get into character. You boys will need suits and I'll find out who Jocelyn's gonna have to impersonate. I want you all inside the show before anything goes down. I'm thinkin it's best to have backup on site- if ya know what I mean."

"Hold on a second!" Niki barked up at the beginning phase of Logan's plan. "Are you SERIOUSLY thinking this Starsky and Hutch style Scooby Doo disguise kit thing is gonna work!?!" She stood up to move her seat closer to the source of the insanity as the jet shifted strangely under her feet and she had to actually lean on Jocelyn's shoulder to keep her feet under her when she got there.
"Thank's partner," she sneered the word out with a little chuckle at how stupid Colossus's teamwork ploy was in her opinion and how ridiculous to pair the two of them up "Hmm.." she gave a little squeeze to the meat of the blue girl's shoulder "..guess ya get thick like that from pickin up all the slack, huh superstar? Or is that just from picking up the girlies?" She teased and almost bit her tongue off as she was sticking it out and the Blackbird lurched again taking her off her feet.
"WHat ThE HELL!!" Niki cried out as she was flung against the inside wall of the cabin and started to slide up to the roof as the 'Bird began to kick into a flat spin and rapidly lose thrust and elevation. "UnNGgff! What's goin ON!!?!!" she called out as suddenly the thrusters kicked in again and the plane stopped free-falling but still kept spinning.
