"Man, I don't know why we gotta get homework on the weekends. That just blows," Gavin said sitting down with Ian at their table in the library. Every Sunday, the pair forced themselves to sit down and do their homework cause if they didn't they were up half the night finishing it instead of chilling out. It took awhile for them to get into the discipline, but it was worth it cause then they had the rest of the day to goof off and do whatever they wanted. Sometimes they even had some other people join them for homework, so it wasn't all that bad. Plus it gave them a chance to catch up in case stuff got too crazy.
"We got that article thing from Kitty to write, and we gotta finish that book report for Frost," Gavin said reading off his list. "And we got those short answers for Summers. Eh it could be worse. At least we finished the math homework on Friday. Even if Ivy 'helped' us." He grinned at Ian at that since the two of them copied off Ivy's work cause she was just that cool and both of them laid on the charms big time to get the answers from her.
He twisted the cap off his soda and took a long swallow, grabbing the chips that they sneaked into the room. "So you were saying about Frostbite man? What happened when she came in the kitchen?" he asked looking over at his friend and roommate. Gavin wasn't one to pry or dig into stuff but he knew that Ian was driving himself crazy over the situation between all of them. They spoke about the whole thing before, and he knew he was going through it.

"Eh," Ian started dumping his stuff on the table and plopping on the chair. "Nothing happened man, I just can't deal with it, ya know? Like yesterday bro." He took out the laptop his parents sent him over a couple of weeks and opened it up. It actually came in handy since all their papers had to be typed up, and it also had a webcam so he could talk to his family and his buddy Eric. "Yesterday was just wroooonng. Rumble is messed up, and I did feel real bad about him doing that to her in front of everyone. I ain't all that surprised that she flipped on Niki and Veronika and them."
He paused for a minute, remembering back to early on when the Brotherhood attacked, and how messed up Aideen must have been after that whole thing with Sabretooth. That knowledge and seeing the after effects really messed Ian up in his own way. It was the first time that he ever encountered something that dark and horrible, and it left a mark on him in its own way. Since then he looked at a lot of things, especially with girls differently. He was always respectful, but that whole experience made him protective and careful too. It was why no matter how hurt and angry he was at Lorelai, he couldn't bring himself to be mean to her or try and hurt her the way others did.
"It was just bad yesterday, you were there bro. Niki's my girl and all, but I don't like that she just went after Frostbite even after Ana hit her against that tree mad hard and pinned her. I can't believe that Doc or Teach didn't step in on time, they were right there! They coulda easily held back Niki and gotten Lorelai and Ana under control. Now that decent rep that Niki worked for is gone and Lorelai is way more of an outcast than before. I ain't gonna add to that, I'm not gonna give her a lot of grief when that's all she's been getting," he finished looking over at the blank document on his screen and trying to figure out how to start his paper on the French and Indian War. "That's all there is to say you know Gavin bro? I just hope it works out cause it's pretty bad now."

"I don't know man, I don't know what to tell you," Gavin said opening up his own laptop to do his work. "Yesterday did mess a lot of stuff up, that ain't a big secret. It sucks that Niki's pretty much looked at as a major bully by everyone, cause we both know she ain't really like that. It sucks just as much how stuff worked out for Lorelai." He looked over at Ian and gave him a grim smile, truly feeling bad for his friend.
"You're a good guy man, too good of a guy sometimes. Lorelai treated you like crap, and you still refuse to give her any grief for it. I'll be honest, I never got it. It don't make much sense that she ever had anything against you man, no one tries harder than you do, and I know you and Niki got a thing, but you were even willing to keep trying with Lorelai. Shit's messed up, but the best thing you can do is just keep being as decent as you have," Gavin said passed the chips over to him and opened up the History textbook.
It was why Gavin was off put by relationships, or an example of it. Ian and Lorelai had gone out for three days and she freaked on him, his history with girls back home only seemed to back up his idea. He liked Heather a lot, she was sweet and fun, and a lot deeper than anyone gave her credit for, but she seemed like the serious relationship type, and that was not for Gavin. It was cool since he let her know straight up he wasn't good at this thing and she seemed cool with it anyways. "Man I hate history. Why do we gotta know it if it happened? Shouldn't we be more concerned with what's gonna happen?" He said glaring slightly at the thick textbook.

Torri was a bit out of breath from running up the stairs. She didn't want to come too late to join Gavin and Ian since that was kind of rude in her opinion. After she left the kitchen Torri made sure to stop by her room and get all of her homework before meeting the boys in the library. She only had to finish her English Paper and Pre-Calculus. She was pretty decent with school work and was all around an A student. But she hated History with a passion and considered it so boring, American History that is. Her own country, Scotland, had far more interesting stories in her opinion. And Ian encouraged her about that several weeks ago when everyone was watching Braveheart in the Rec Room.
Opening the doors, Torri controlled her breathing and plopped herself into a chair at the table. "Sorry.... heh... I... uh... whew... got you... snacks," she said in between breaths. She ran quite a bit since she was really excited to hang out with her old team again. Well two members of them. Plus Gavin and Ian were really cool guys to hang out with and she always liked them. The fact that Ian actually invited her along couldn't have made her feel more grown up.
Grabbing the snack bars from her pocket, Torri placed them on the table and then threw her books out in front of her. "Ugh," she breathed out. "So... what do you guys need help in?" She smiled wide, placing the joke that Ian only invited her because... let's face it... Ian and Gavin weren't exactly fond of schoolwork, especially during the weekend. She rested her elbows on the table and linked her fingers together, waiting for the study session to begin.

"Torri! Hey!" Ian said with a big grin waving at her. "Aw you rock! Thanks for the snacks. Gavin slept in and didn't even have breakfast. Like he ain't skinny enough as it is." He grinned at his winged friend, not being the first time he teased him about not being so bulky. It was all in good fun though, it was kind of like how Ian was easily able to gain mass and muscle, and Gavin naturally was his size cause it made it easier for flying. The guy may be solid muscle, but Ian liked to bug him about being smaller than him.
"You better hide the food under the table though, you know how Karma is about food in her library," he said with a slight grin, leaning over to grab a Kit Kat. "She already told us off last week when I tried to get some of that pizza Sky made in here. She don't want her books smelling like pizza and food she said. And you know, just cause I spilled a soda ONE time in here, she thinks I'll do it all the time." He grinned sheepishly and took of the soda he hid in the paper bag.
He went back to the heading he typed on the word document and glared at it. "Well we got that paper on the French and Indian War, and I still don't know what I'm writing about. Gavin bro, you got your topic yet?" Ian looked from the side of his laptop screen and had to crack a smile at the sight of Gavin glaring at the textbook. "Aw come on man it could be worse. Teach coulda made it six pages instead of four."

"Man I'm doing mine on the Boston Tea Party. How the hell am I going to fit four pages about the damn Boston Tea Party," Gavin said glaring at his computer screen. He hated history, it was his worst subject next to science and he didn't want to deal with it when he didn't have to. He literally had to force himself to do his history homework and this time had Ian hide his guitar so he wouldn't be tempted to go and just strum it for a couple of hours like he wanted to begin with.
"Heya Torri," Gavin said looking up from his work with a grin. "How ya been squirt? You wanna do this report for Cyke's class for me?" He joked and glared at the screen. "Man I really don't wanna do this. Gimme some of those snacks though, gotta make myself look like Ah-nold Schwarzenegger," he said making the accent and everything. He pumped his arms and primped to poke his own fun at Ian.
"Look at me man, I am Ian, I have muscles bigger than my head, and I can lift a car with one hand! Cowbunga!" He imitated Ian's accent and ended up laughing at the end of it. "I'm hungry anyways though. So what's up squirt? How's life been since we last chilled?" Gavin smiled at Torri and looked back at his screen, glaring at it.

Chase hadn't eaten. He only toweled off and dressed. He smelled of chlorine, which he liked, in a way. His hair was matted and he was in a bit of a panic. He glanced over at Karma as he came in and took a seat at the table with frik & frak and the Alpha honey. He took the seat with his back to the windows and stared blankly at them all for a second. "Dudes, and little ex-whatever team you were on chick" he pointed at Tori, not sure what team she was on since he didn't care "sorry, my head's gonna pop. What the hell is with your guy's broad?" He was talking about Colossus' lady, Kitty. "Dat crazy Phazy bitc- uh," he searched his head for a different word since the little girl was still an Alpha "er, bitch" and was unsuccessful in finding one. "Dere's no uder word for her, mon- she worse'n a Mutter Skunk." He leaned in to whisper since he didn't need Karma hearing. "I swear I got no frAKKin CLUE what she wants from us." He looked back at Karma since he got a little loud, but she was replacing books on the shelves. "I'm just gonna cut if I can't figure it out. Whatcha got for me? Any o'the good stuff from Ivy? I got the teacher's schedule for rounds for the week, see who's got bedwatch- eh? -eh? Any takers?" He flexed his eyebrows up and down. "Oh hey speakin of stuff for people." He reached into his pocket and pulled out his wallet. "I believe THIS is yours." he handed Ian a small wad of bills. "Damn Cubbies, buncha retards. Wanna go again on the Pirates-Astros game tomorrow. It's a, you know, like a noon game. We could cut class, watch the game. I really do not wanna go to that class man. You gotta help me out" he got very Gavin at that moment, sorta over the top bad-actor-y "somebody, anybody." He let his head fall and his forehead hit the table. Face planted to the tabletop he could barely be heard muttering "-ow-".

Torri's eyebrow remains raised as the Paragon did his own little stunt just pulled and gave him a nice smile, welcoming him into the study session. She wasn't really a fan of him or the majority of the Paragons, but Chase wasn't so bad. He was just a bit much when it came to his type of personality. Torri liked him in small doses... very small doses. Ignoring the big wad of cash he gave Ian, Torri turned to Gavin and giggled. "The Boston Tea Party? That is easy," she replied proudly. She didn't want to make him feel stupid or anything but she did like to tease the older kids when they couldn't do a paper that she found easy.
Torri liked writing papers. It gave her the freedom to research and write her own opinions on whatever topic she was assigned and she loved speaking her mind about history and literature. She also liked creating stories in her head that she would dream up during her free time. "Lemme see the assignment," she continued and didn't wait for him to retort as she grabbed his paper. "Ok. All you need to do is list several factors as to why the Boston Tea Party occurred, what were the effects of the Boston Tea Party, and in your opinion, what could have been done in order to prevent it." She nodded her head, thinking it wasn't that bad of an assignment and pretty easy to write in four pages.
"Ian you have the same assignment right? Just with the French-Indian War?" Torri was thinking she was going to have to help these boys out and she just had to smirk at their reactions. "C'mon guys this is easy. Why don't you ask Heather to help you blokes out with this stuff? She's good in History isn't she? She finished her paper yesterday I think." If the boys had girlfriends or whatever they were called in the States, Torri assumed they all did homework together or something of the like. At least that was what she saw in romantic movies.

Ricki grinned widely at Ivy, content with her accomplishment. "... socialising isn't that bad." Ricki commented as the two walked towards the library, "And oh my, don't you lie to me now! I see the way you look at him... yes I haaveeee..." Ricki was practically singing rather that speaking, adding two *ehems* at the end of her little singy-talky thingi to tease Ivy even more as she pushed open the door to the library. "Oooohhh. Wow! There's more humans than I expected!" Ricki declared in a loud whisper, holding the door open for Ivy and skipping her way in.
"You guys can thank me later... I have bought you, the geek." Ricki announced holding both her hands out and doing an odd little curtsey before skipping over, her eyes lingering vaguely on Ian. Ricki remembered his early silent encounter with Frostbite in the kitchen. I wish things weren't that awkward between them, Ricki sighed quietly to herself, before grabbing herself a seat by the group. "Hey Torri... watcha doing here? Haven't the alphas woken up yet?" Ricki expected Torri to perhaps be helping Karma- she knew Torri liked that, but perhaps she just wanted to spend time with her old team. Ricki could understand that.
Ricki shifted her attention from Torri to Gavin. "Ah! I should've guessed... Gavin! I told you, child labour is wrong!" Ricki exclaimed, leaning over to hit Gavin lightly - atleast that's what she thought - on the head with her pink song notebook, bursting out into giggles. "Sorrryy. Hope that didn't hurt." she added. Just incase.
"Hey Ian! Hey Chase!" Ricki greeted happily, although her tone faltered at the mention of Chase. Just... looking at him made her shiver. Gosh the water was cold last night. C-c-coldddd. Ricki shook the thought off- instead diverting her attention towards Ivy "Oh guys! Did you know Ivy has a crush on the new Acolyte dude?!" Ricki added, looking up at Ivy and giving her the knowing look before her giggles got even stronger. "Okay... okay... kidding! Don't! kill me Ivy... and oh... oops... I'm sorry, I'm ruining study time." Ricki hung her head slightly, biting her lip. "So, whatcha guys working on?" she added, her tone dropping to a forced whisper.

"Oh m'god, IVY!" Chase jumped up, eyes electric, hand flailing in the air and rushed over to her side. "Uh, I mean-" he settled himself down and looked around at the bunch of them "-well, like hey. What's up Ivy?" He grabbed her around the shoulders and hustled her back to plop her down in his chair. "Here I saved you a seat."
He pulled another chair up next to her, it was from the next table over and it had it's back to the group. He swung his leg up and over it to sit on it backwards and leaned against it tipping it slightly in to be able to talk softly to Ivy. "Look, I can help you out with that boy if ya want. Hell, I'll eat the peanuts outta your shit if you want- Just, you gotta HELP ME with this damn Technology class. If I don't hand in something great, and let's face it it's gotta look like I did it too, so you really gotta do a good job on it for me right?" He slapped her in the thigh playfully "So if you don't help me out here I'm done for. What can I get for hookin you up with the newb? Or the uh, peanut thing?" he grimaced.

Ian looked at the Chase for a moment after waving at Ricki and Ivy, and then shook his head. "You man are too much. Watch what you say in front of Torri though," he retorted and looked around in case one of the little kids were around and helping Karma out or something. He knew they'd be skinned alive if they were heard cursing in front of the little kids. He looked around one more time to make sure they were safe before he turned back to his homework.
"Anyways, me and Gavin are trying to get through those history papers Teach gave us last week. Heather I think got bugged cause Gavin here keeps trying to get her to do the paper for him. Niki, well she helps me once in awhile but she mostly does her homework with Aideen, cause you know Spitfire's like a genius and all. Plus I can't get anything done with her she keeps... well distracting me," Ian said with a slightly screwed up face. Niki teased him relentlessly all the time, and with her little antics it was impossible for him to keep his focus on his work. He loved his girl, she was a great friend and he had fun spending time with her, but sometimes she drove him nuts.
"C'mon Torri I know what I gotta do, I just don't know where to start man." Ian glared at the notes that he pretty much copied from Heather and let out a loud sigh. "Man what's the point of homework anyways? Isn't the point of school to learn IN school and not do the work at home? We need a law about the separation of home and school or something," he grumbled and stared at the screen some more. "Okay, here goes nothing. Torri will ya look it over when I'm done?"

"The real question is, can you call it homework when you live at the school?" Wraith had followed the bubbly blonde and slightly more reluctant redhead into the library after they nearly mowed him down in the hall. He really hadn't anywhere else in mind to go, and they were talking about meeting up with others. That was exactly the sort of socializing that Frost probably had in mind... because it was exactly the sort of thing that Matt wouldn't do.
Wraith was a different story all together.
With an invisible smirk, Wraith dragged another chair over to the table and forced himself to focus on the people at the table. It was difficult to pay that much attention to so much detail, but Wraith was nothing if not determined. Aside from the girls he had followed in, there was a younger girl, and three other boys, one of which had black wings hanging off his back. The table was covered in books and notebooks, laptops and a handful of snacks. He didn't doubt that he'd just startled the lot of them as he scooted the chair closer to the crowded table, but that only made him grin all the more.
"Or is philosophy not on the menu?" he asked, his voice betraying his smile. Wraith looked around the table at the half dozen mutants gathered to get some work done and winced at their expressions. "What? I've got something on my face?"

Ian froze completely for maybe about half a second before his body went into what he liked to call 'survival mode.' With all that he had been through since he came to the school, he was known to assume the worst in just about every unexpected situation. "Holy %$&*!" He yelled staring at the chair and falling back as he moved in the back panicking. He fell over some chairs only to stand right back up until he hit the wall. "God damnit %&* #&%* &$^@! Torri get outta here now!"
His mind was reeling as to what the hell could be happening. It could be the Brotherhood was back for a visit and some shit or other was about to go down, or hell it could be some other group sending it someone with new technology to go invisible or someone using telekinesis and moving the chair. Being that it was a guy's voice and not Ana's thick cute accent or the voice of the Invisible woman, Ian automatically thought that this was the start to something big.
He was already in formation and ready to fight, eyes looking around wildly. Aw man things were going good too! Why didn't Emma sense a presence in the house or something? Damnit this is just like last time, shit's gonna go down and we're on our own. he thought as he broke off a chair leg and looked around wildly. "You wanna start something? Come on! I'm ready for ya!" Ian swung the chair leg around, careful not to his any of his friends. He went over to the chair that moved and kicked it, well not that hard but for him it was enough to send it flying across the library. "Come on, you gotta have more than some cheap ass tricks. Bring it on!" He yelled looking around wildly and keeping an eye on his friends.

"IAN, IAN CALM DOWN!" Ricki shrieked, jumping up out of fright herself, but a part of her keeping the calm. She'd seen Ian freak out this way before in Danger Room sessions, and by now she'd learnt to keep her calm- at the end of the day, someone had to, right? And Ricki was always one to believe the best when she saw it coming; and in her opinion whoever their new invisible buddy was had pulled up the chair besides her, and so far they hadn't done anything to hurt anyone in the group- if they wanted to attack, they coulda done it before saying anything. "Breathe Ian... breathe! Please?... Guys... just... stay put?"
Ricki was standing, and she turned herself to face the chair besides her which'd moved, leaning herself against the table. "... I'm sorry- you just shocked us a little." Ricki mused, trying to keep it polite to let the guest feel comfortable- it never hurt to treat others with respect, at the end of the day, they'd return it back someday, right? She turned around to give Ian a reassuring look, giving Torri a concerned look with a small smile before she turned back to face the empty chair. "I'm Ricki..." she said, her natural smile embracing her face.
"you wouldn't mind holding something would ya? Just so we know where you are... or showing yourself might be an option too..." Ricki shrugged, smiling a little before she turned to look at the group. "-anyway... who're you? Are you visiting? Or are you... a student?" Ricki had an open mind and a strong, running, imagination... living in the mutant world just elaborated it. It could be quite possible there was a student with invisibility powers... quite like Sue Storm. Ha. Funny Ricki smiled to herself- She had Mr Fantastic's power, and if this guy was anything like Sue Storm, it'd be pretty cool.

Ivy sat in her chair with her hands gripping the arms and her legs curled up onto her seat as Ian had knocked over chairs and even kicked one across the room. Her face looked a little worried, and kind of confused and her eyes were wide. There was someone no one could see who had pulled up a chair and started talking to them all. "Um.. what?" she asked no one, looking around and trying to make sense of everything. "Who's that?" she asked, glancing at the chair, looking it over and seeing absolutely nothing. It had startled her to hear someone come in but not see them, but her reflex was more to compact herself and keep out of the way.
Her eyebrows were raised slightly as what Chase had brought up was forgotten briefly because of the invisible boy's arrival. "Knowing this school's luck, Ricki, probably a student," she said, glancing over at Ricki and giving her a look that said it all. She glanced over at the empty chair again, wondering what she should do. Say hi? Wave? How would she go about that, she wondered before just flashing the invisible person a quick, but small shy smile. She glanced over at Chase and grimaced slightly, knowing she'd have to answer him at some point. "I can help you, but not everything Ricki says is like that..." she said, blushing slightly even though it was true. The crush Ricki was talking about was completely fabricated; Ivy had barely seen the shy new boy let alone spoke enough to him to form anything close to a crush.
"Uh, what did you wanna start with?" she asked, shaking the annoying blush away and thinking about schoolwork. School work...school work...Stupid Ricki making all this trouble, I should've known she would. I'll get her back somehow, she thought as she looked over at the fallen chairs close to where Ian had been. "Remember Ian, to breathe...in, out. Slowly..if you knocked over the table next, I'm not sure who'll be crying loudest when their homework is messed up," she said quietly, looking at him with a small but amused smirk. Teasing the boys about homework was always fun, especially because she was always long done before them.
