Invisible people didn't have hidden powers, at least to Torri's knowledge. But then again, the Invisible Woman could make force fields too and wondered if this person had the same capability. For now, the bookshelf seemed like a good barrier for protection and Torri didn't hesitate to run there as Ian instructed. OK so she didn't exactly leave, but she didn't want to just run away like a little kid. She wanted to help and if the opportunity struck, she would have found something to hit the invisible person with.
Moving away from her shield slowly, Torri watched Ricki, Ivy and Ian deal with the current shock factor of the day. Torri herself was even a bit spooked and didn't want to go back to her seat until she knew who the person was or what the heck he was doing in the Library. Plus it would have been a bit better if the Headmistress or Headmaster introduced the kid so no one would be freaking out about a floating chair and a voice that came from no where.
Not knowing what to do or say, Torri stayed where she was and looked back at Ricki for comfort. It wasn't that motherly comfort she use to want from her, but rather the satisfaction that everything was OK from a good friend. She even looked at Ian to see what he thought and Torri understood where his anger/ protective instincts were coming from. Another attack on the school wasn't something anyone was looking forward to and no one could blame anyone for that.

Gavin had jumped from his chair in surprise to, but not freaking out like Ian was. He had just been in the middle of getting into his report and was so surprised that he ended up tripping over his own feet and falling into a bookcase. "Whoa, whoa hold up a sec, Ian wait till we see something before you try and smash it," he said trying to pick himself up, using the shelves to steady himself up, sending some books to the floor in the process. His heart was beating like crazy from the surprise and Ian's reaction only fueled it.
"How the hell do you guys know its a student? Or its even an actual person? Don't you think Frost or Summers woulda told us if there was another student that could do stuff that would freak us out? Actually," he stopped for a minute and thought about it. "They would know if we had an enemy around too right? I mean they'd know right?" Gavin looked around at all of them, torn as to what to do. He wasn't as trusting, even if he hadn't been around for all the craziness, he was still wary about things here. Ian told him a bit of the stuff he went through, and that alone horrified him. The school had become his home probably more so than his actual home, and he dreaded something happening to it for a long time.
"Ivy, are you really talking about homework now? I mean I know it's supposed to be great, but you guys can't just brush off Ian freaking out. Look even Torri went right off, they know how stuff begins, they were there for it before, I mean come on!" He looked at some of the others in disbelief. His loyalty to Ian as a friend and as a Captain was pretty strong, and he couldn't understand why people acted casual when the guy obviously found something wrong, especially those from their own team. Well Ricki he knew she was the calm voice in the midst of a hurricane, but her and Ivy seemed eerily calm with all that stuff that happens. "Now what the hell was that?" Gavin looked around for signs of life, ready to back his best friend up.

Wraith didn't know what to do but duck and cover. The big guy was stomping around like wounded elephant, the little one had run off into the stacks, and the rest were all either getting ready to knock the crap out of him or trying to settle the situation. Except for the redhead. She was just sitting there like she was lobotomized.
"Oh, come on! I didn't even say 'boo'!" Wraith didn't whine, but that time he came close. This was why he didn't go out among people. Wraith kept a small distance between himself and the others, concerned for his well being. If one of them hurt managed to hurt him, really hurt him, he'd probably stay invisible and no one would be able to find him again. Not exactly the way he wanted to go.
"I'm a student, I only just got here!" he said quickly. He eyed the big guy warily. He was going to be a problem if he didn't put down that chair leg. Wraith swallowed loudly. Holy crap, I'm going to die in the goddamn library, he thought frantically. I really hope that guy isn't on my team.
"My name's Wraith. I'm over here, see? No harm, no foul, right?" Wraith grabbed a book off the shelf, holding it up so that they would know he wasn't just f*cking with them. He did hold it off to the side a bit, just incase the cussing guy decided to charge him like a bull. "Uh, can you put that down, bro? Just cause I'm see through doesn't mean I don't bruise like a peach." He laughed weakly, desperately trying to settle the scene. "I really should wear a bell..."

Chase had drifted back a bit as the others had freaked out. He didn't trust as readily as the girls did and he wasn't about to underscore another Team Captain's instincts. Ian had been through some serious shit and if that guy's hackles were raised then the Paragon would have to have his back in this one. What the hell are they all waiting for? My team would be wiping the floor with whatever this thing is by now.
The flutter of wings and the scampering away of the little Alpha had kicked up papers and all the drama of it all had drawn his attention, but from his vantage point he could see one of the papers sticking to what he could only guess was a leg at about knee height. A leg that belongs to whatever's holding that book! There you are ya ghosty! he thought as he picked up his chair and swung it around into the form of what he could only guess was another mutant. He didn't care who he was, or that he was trying to say who he was, he just wanted to smash the guy because he made him sorta piss a little -just a little dammit- in his pants and that was NOT what he wanting to start the rest of the day off from. Pissed in pants were for old people and the obese and the pregnant, not him - noooo- not the only one beside Ian who was at all actively prepared for some kind of craziness.
The crunch of the chair as it broke across what felt like a body and Chase cried out "OH yeah BROTHER!" In his best Hulk Hogan impersonation before watching as the pieces of chair he had just smashed the disembodied book holding voice with landed down on the invisible form. "I Got'im! I got 'im!" He cried excitedly and froze the chunks of shattered wood in place in his best effort to pin the body down. "GO! Ian-man, bust his ASS!" He jumped up in place punching at the air in celebration before turning to look at the two Acolyte broads with a scowl of confusion. "And who in the place where people go to hell and demons come flying out of blood, talks about 'hi and welcome, oh and lets chat about homework' when there's invisible ass to be kicked? Damn what do you scrubs DO on that team? Practice having tea parties?"

"Chase! No! Ian... please... no! Ian... don't hurt him." Ricki for one, was in shock. "Gavin please... I don't think he means us any harm- please guys, please don't hurt him. He hasn't done anything to us!" Yet anyway. Ricki's eyes were almost like a puppy pleading- she knew Ian'd listen to Gavin, and Gavin was probably bound to get his cool quicker.
Ricki sure as hell didn't expect Chase to start beating up... Wraith. She'd jumped back on the table, now straightening herself from a really weird sit-slash-lay-down position on the table. "No Chase, we don't have tea parties... but we don't..." Ricki sighed, at a loss for words and to be frank quite appalled. "Chase, he didn't do anything to hurt us! If he wanted to.. he could've, right? None of us can see him- he could've taken advantage of that, but he didn't, I mean, that should count for something right?!" Ricki sighed, shaking her head, her eyes looking at thin air.
"... please, please guys... just... please, don't hurt him?" Ricki bit her lip. "Wraith? Where are you... uh- are you okay? Are you hurt badly?" Ricki was paniced- she just hoped no major damage had been done to the guy. Many called Ricki rather soft but Ricki just thought that she was someone who reasoned things out before she took action. She liked to think things through, and see the best way to go about it rather than just attack at first sight, although, despite all of that, and the major part of her that was horribly worried for the guy, there was still a part of Ricki that was just as weary as the others.
They lived at a mutant school, and Ricki'd heard of some things the residents had to face before and it wasn't pleasant. Not one damn bit, Ricki could understand why Ian and Chase were freaking out, but she thought Chase'd gone one bit too far in this case. "Wraith? Is that your... name? What team are you on?" If he knew he was a student, he probably also knew what team he was on, because rationally thinking, Miss Forst ought to have greeted him. "... Do you- do you need to see a doctor?"

Ian hesitated only for a moment then, Ricki's sweet pleading voice having that same effect on him that it always did. She always had this thing about her that reminded him exactly of his baby sister. She had the same tone and the big blue eyes that just pretty much had him give into her 95% of the time. There were times where he stayed firm on his decision, but a pleading voice like that was enough to wear any guy down. "Well... yea she has a point. He didn't try to do anything," he said slowly after a moment, lowering the chair leg.
He saw the book moving and heard the rustling of clothes enough to guess where the kid was. He didn't make a move to help him, as Ricki seemed to be taking care of that. Instead he exchanged a look with Chase and Gavin, eying him warily. He wasn't the most trustful of people and at that moment he didn't know what to think if that was really a student. Why would a dude just come up like that if he's invisible and all cool? Shouldn't you warn strangers that you're invisible so shit like this doesn't happen? He thought still looking over and making no move to help.
It was that moment that he looked around their area in the library to see the smashed chairs and books on the floor. "Man we made a mess. Karma is going to make our asses into hats if we don't fix this up," he said with wide eyes as he looked at the mess. "Man we're so screwed," he added, still keeping the chairleg close to him... just in case.

An involuntary huff of air left Wraith's lungs when the chiar made contact, but aside from knocking him on his ass, it didn't do much damage. He'd taken the hit full in the chest. Had he tried to sidestep it, or only caught a piece of it, he could have gotten his ribs broken, but the force of the impact had been dispersed across his chest...
Lucky him.
"You guys suck!" Wraith coughed as his lungs reinflated with the air that had been knocked out of him. "Is that seriously how you say hello to people? Frost tells me to make friends and you nail me with a chair? Get this SHIT off me!" Wraith snarled the last bit, his temper ignited. His fingers scrambled over the bits of chair that seemed frozen in place around him. He was wedged to the floor, unable to do more than wiggle beneath the broken wood.
"Ugh forget it. It's probably safer down here anyway." With a heavy sigh, as though the weight of the world was on his shoulders, Wraith gave up on trying to free himself from his bizarrly made prison. Instead he cast his focus to the one person that seemed more helpful than hurtful. "I'm ok. I'm just stuck. And yeah I'm a student... an Acolyte." He wiggled again kicking up displaced loose leaf paper. "No doctors, beautiful. Wouldn't do me any good anyhow. Not much for them to examin anymore."
He looked up at the big guy -he thought he'd heard the blonde call him Ian- and swallowed loudly. "Bro, do you seriously think you need a beatin' stick? I'm stuck to the floor, out numbered, and I just got sacked with a chair. Believe me... you win."

"Whoa wait a minute you're getting mad at us?" Gavin said picking up some of the books from the floor and glaring over to where the voice was coming from. "Lemme get this straight, you being invisible decide to just randomly come in and say 'hey guys how you doing' to people that are total strangers in a MUTANT school, and you're mad at us for freaking out? How hard did Chase hit you?" He placed the books on the shelf, shaking his head at the whole thing.
Gavin glanced over to say more and stopped only when he looked at Ricki. He wasn't a sucker for the big baby blues like Ian was, but she was his friend, a really good friend. They played around and he was really comfortable with her, but at the same time there was another level to their friendship where he could talk to her easily about anything, and yes he found it hard to say no to her too. Right now she looked desperate for things to calm down, and that was enough to make him sigh aggressively and choose to keep his mouth shut and proceed to clean up the area.
He spied Torri peaking behind the bookcase and a slight grin came upon his face. "Aw it's alright Torri, you can come back over. We're just cleaning up now," he said in a gentler voice than he used before. It tickled him that Torri still stuck around even when Ian told her to go, he always said that kid had guts, and he hoped that she'd realize it soon for herself. This to him just proved it, and it made his grin widen. "Wanna be nice and help us clean up?" he asked giving Ricki a side glance. It was then that the phone in his pocket vibrated, and he figured he had a text message. Aw damn, I'll check it in a minute, he thought as he put back more books on the shelves.

Torri moved away from the bookshelf and blinked her big blue eyes towards the spot where this "Wraith" person was supposed to be. She wondered why he didn't bother to turn himself back but then assumed that was the main reason he was brought to the school in the first place. She remembered when she first got here, and how controlling her power was quite difficult. She had a whole pink phase too and even had cat ears. But since she joined the Alpha Squadron, Torri was able to control her fears much better and concentrate a bit more. Lately she didn't really try to shape-shift, due to the face that she didn't want to get stuck as half cockroach and a blob or something bizarre of that nature. But Karma did promise her some mental training and preparation for the future.
Torri looked around the room and sighed. Karma really was going to be a bit mad. But as long as all the books were back, the Alpha didn't think anything else would be wrong, except the loss of several chairs. Picking up some books, Torri headed to where Gavin was and helped him but them back. She wasn't shocked anymore and didn't want to really say anything. She wanted to finish her homework before she had to head back to her own chores and other priorities. She wanted to spend time with her friends.
"Here you go," she said softly with her Scottish accent. "We really need to synchronize an alert drill or something. I don't think Ms. Frost would have missed someone like Wra... Wrath? Wraith? Mitchell?" She was being silly and trying to break the ice with some Family Guy references. They always had the ability to make Gavin and Ian laugh and she hoped they would at least ease up a bit. Granted, Gavin wasn't anywhere close as Ian was when it came to pouncing and snapping the new Acolyte's neck. But still, Torri preferred them smiling than gritting their teeth and clenching their fists.

Oh thank goodness, Things were calming down- and Ricki wasn't complaining. Ricki smiled at Torri, proud of how well Torri'd taken to all that'd gone on. The old Torri would've been shook- but this one was putting on a bave face and Ricki felt like a proud older sister. Ricki's hand ran over Torri's hair before she turned over to look at Gavin. "Thanks," she whispered, smiling at one of the people who Ricki considered to be her best friends. Ricki knew, that if she gave Gavin just one look, he'd always know exactly what she meant by that look. He knew her quite well, and they understood each other on a level where they could talk to each other about practically anything, and Ricki was glad that they had such a strong friendship.
"It's not a matter of winning Wraith, we just have to be very careful." Ricki explained to Wraith, kneeling down on the floor besides the planks which held the invisible guy. "Chase... could you please let him go?" Ricki asked, looking at Chase in the same pleading manner, before turning back to look at the invisible space. "Ian, Gavin, Ivy and I are Acolytes as well." Ricki said, although hurrying to add, "... No... please don't freak out. It's just that what Gavin said is true- this is a Mutant school, and when things like this happen, it scares us. You never know if it's a friend or a foe."
Ricki hoped this guy would understand what she meant- forgive and forget. They didn't need a Rebel on the team- Ricki was working with Katana at the moment, and Ricki knew how hard the girl was trying. "C'mon, I'll take you to Doctor McCoy- if you can bruise, you can heal- and he's a complete genius. You'd be suprised." Ricki's natural smile spread across her face as she gave the invisible boy a comfortable smile, feeling extremely ackward considering she was actually talking to thin air. It was weird how odd it felt being able to hear something but not being able to see it. "Is that okay guys? I'll take him to Doc and then I can come back in a bit to help clear up? I'm sure my stretchy limbs will be super helpful!"
Ricki rolled her eyes at herself and held her hand out for Wraith to take. If he was hurt badly, he wouldn't be able to make it all the way alone.

"Ew, that's just gross. You stretch your eyeballs like that!?!" Chase said almost honestly grossed out, but really just teasing the shit out of her AAand her teammates as he turned to them saying "She just stretched her eyeballs all big and weepy looking, you guys fall for that? Oh man that's sad. Funny, but sad really, and kinda gross I gotta say."
He wasn't about to fall for her weird puppy dog eyes look, and he was actually a bit curious how much of her body quirks were just her power kicking in as a sort of a subconscious way to express itself. "Do you realize how big you just made your eyes? Man that was weird. But NO I ain't lettin him up until we get him a bell like he asked for. No way. And why do you believe him?"
He turned to Gavin and said "I hit him pretty hard mon, hard enough to break the chair, but who's to say it really hurt him. I mean come on are you guys really that gullible. I don't wanna be totally cruel, but seriously we should get a teacher here. Hey where did Karma go? I thought she was here a few minutes ago. She could take remote control of him and then I'd let him up. I mean yea, sure, we made a mess but we did it for a good reason, so I don't think she'll be too mad, well she's gonna have our asses but- uh, well maybe we- uh" he looked around at everybody there.
"OK-ok alright let me think a second." He put his devious mind to work on the problem. He took his jacket off and got down to start to feel the body of the invisible guy. "Legs, legs, which end's the legs- AHHh he's got for legs!" He screamed and looked up at Torri and Ivy and Ricki. "Just kiddin. Here I'm gonna tie this around his legs so I can let him sit up." he tied his jacket around the kid's legs and froze it solid in space. He knew the guy wasn't getting up and running at least, and then he let go of his power's hold on the wood and brushed it off the supposed Acolyte.
"Ok so now he can sit up, but seriously Ricki, do we let you of all people take him down alone? I vote no. There's no way your silly ass is capable, so either me or Ian are goin with you. Somebody's gotta be able to keep a hold of this guy and I really don't want the job so Ian, how about it? Think you can keep a handle on this guy the whole way down so he don't get away?" Chase didn't want to clean up the mess either, but he sure as hell didn't want to explain to Doc Mc Coy what happened and be there to get an ass rippin, that would just be stupid.

"Stretched eyeballs? Chase ain't it a bit early to be hitting the sauce and the bud? I thought Sundays were your chill day?" Ian was confused as hell, cause as far as he knew Ricki didn't even know how to stretch her eyeballs or whatever. She just had such an honest and compassionate look about her, combined with her pretty baby blue eyes that practically mirrored his little sister's expression. Then again he shouldn't expect less from Chase, as cool as that guy was he had his seriously bizarre moments and interpretation.
"Watch it Chase, Ricki's on my team and I definitely know better than you what she's capable of. She ain't a hardened soul, that I won't try and argue, but she got a good head on her shoulders, and I can definitely say she's more than capable power wise. She can hold me in place man, and i got no way to get out of a rubber hold." He grabbed the back of his neck in frustration. A part of him agreed with Chase, not wanting to grab a teacher for the hell of being lectured if the guy was telling the truth, and the other part just wasn't ready to full on trust the kid. It didn't make sense that the teachers didn't tell them anything, but as of late they've been sort of useless. This would be a good example after yesterday's prime example of the teacher's incapability to handle things with Frostbite and Niki. They had more than enough time to step in and yet they didn't and it screwed his girl over in the end.
The more Ian thought about it, the more he realized that he had to quit relying on the teachers to get a grip on things. He had to make a more responsible choice and trust his gut instinct. Truth was that he would trust Ricki with his life, she had so much heart and she always put it in the right place. Yea she had her silly moments, but she was the last person to be bias or have an agenda. Thinking about that and some other things was more than enough to make his decision for him. "If he's an Acolyte, than that's my area. Let him up Chase, Ricki keep a hold on the kid." He let out a big sigh as he straightened up the chairs, glancing at Torri to smile at her slightly.
He couldn't not smile looking at that kid, she had a lot of guts. Plus her Family Guy reference had been enough to put him at ease, if only for a minute. "I'll help you guys clean up the place and then I'll go find Karma. She's cool and she'd know what's up. I'll take the heat for this one guys," he said not wanting to get others in trouble and honestly not in the mood to hear Chase's bitching about them getting in trouble. Someone needed to be responsible and it might as well be him.

Damn! Note to self, gotta step up and take the heat for some shit. THATS what a real Team Captain does. Ian, man my hat's off to you- I just don't know if I got that in me, but I'm gonna try and work on it. "Yeah, okay." he said with a nod to Ian. "Ya got him Ricki?' He asked her as he waited for her to let him know she was securely wrapped around the guy before he released his hold on his jacket's molecules.
"Look it's not all that bad. We'll have it all cleaned up and if Torri can convince her little friend Whopper, or whatever- what's his name with with the sticky power?- to help, I can hold these chairs in place until he comes to fuse them all together, we don't really have to let Karma know we smashed up her stuff. I mean we can, but it'll be fixed and all fine soon enough so ya know?" That ain't gonna do it Chase, better step up- try again
He started pulling the pieces of smashed chair over with his foot and casually collecting them together. "I mean yea, uh, that ain't gonna work for you guys is it?" He was not an Acolyte, never was cut out for the oh-so-noble red so it just didn't sit well with him, not that there wasn't honor among thieves, but he'd take a chance since he figured he owed it to the kid. "Look if you guys wanna put it all out there then I guess I'm cool with that. We can still fix the broken furniture like I said, but if you wanna tell Karma about what happened then I'm in."
"Hey! Sorry about the bashing you there Wraith, I'll come down when we're done cleanin up and let Beast know how I hit you. It might help him, ya know, to know- like the angle or whatever, I don't know. Plus I guess I better own what I did." He wiped his hand across his mouth and scratched his chin. "But you all woulda been so thankin my ass if this guy had turned out to be Mystique or somethin." Well, I guess that'll have to do. It's the best I can do, hell- I don't even wanna do THAT much, so if they don't like it then they can just sukmuhbalz.

Ricki was feeling quite self conscious right now. Whatever said and done, Ricki was a girl and someone telling her that her eyeballs had stretched and become massive had left her feeling... well self-conscious, considering she hadn't really felt her muscles stretch. Her hands vaguely shifted towards her eyes as she felt the muscles around for a moment before sighing- You're being silly Ricki, get on with it. Ricki shook her head, looking at Ian with a whole load of gratitude reflecting in her expression. She had to admit, the part where Ian'd mentioned her being Silly had made her giggle, but except for that bit, everything that Ian'd said had truley made her feel so... good about herself.
Everything he said, Ricki didn't truley believe she was as good as he described her, but nonetheless, it helped boost her confidence. "Thank you Ian... and Chase." Ricki was always the one to be polite, no matter the time, no matter the situation, no matter the person. Ian got the thanks for all he'd said- he was like that Older Brother Ricki'd always wanted but never had- and Chase got the thanks for apologizing and just... trying the whole nice thing. Ricki thought it was good of him. "Yea... I've got him." Ricki added, looking over at Chase. She could undertand why the rest of them were being so cautious, hence she'd stretched her arm out and wrapped itself around the invisible figure. She could feel him, even though she couldn't see him... it felt weird. She was wearing a tank top anyway, so there was no ripping of clothes required.
"Don't... freak... out." Ricki added looking over at the invisible person, not knowing how they'd react to being held in place by an elasti-girl. "C'mon I'll take you to see Doc," she said to the invisible being in her arms, "Ian and Chase are really cool guys when you get to know them- it's just like Gavin said though, you've got to be really careful... I'm so sorry about this whole... thing." She said, using her eyes to glance at her wrapped arms to explain the 'thing'. "So, Wraith- tell me about yourself. How did you... y'know become invisible? Where're you from?" Ricki asked, curious as always and wanting to strike conversation to help make Wraith feel more comfortable as she loosened her grip just enough to allow him to get up so they could head out the door.

Miserable, Wraith stood up, his chest protesting. "I'd offer to help clean up but, you know..." he looked at the blonde girl - Ricki- and shrugged. Even if no one could see the gesture, he knew she'd feel the movement. That would just have to be good enough. "It was...uh nice to meet you all?" There was a enough sincerity in his tone that he didn't feel bad chuckling a bit. "And I really didn't mean to scare you. Part of the mutation. Silent and See-through." The bitter edge crept in and he fell silent, contemplating his position.
He knew he couldn't get out of Ricki's grip, not if she was rocking Mr. Fantastic's powers. Still, there wasn't much a girl could do if he decided he didn't want to cooperate. If he went dead weight she wouldn't be able to move him. Not with her skinny frame. Still, if Wraith got belted with a chair for saying hello, he had no doubt that he'd be be mangled if he put up any resistance.
He grinned a bit at Ricki's attempts to make their situation a bit less awkward. At least she was cute. "I'm from Maine," he said quietly. "A little town called Presque Isle. And to be honest the invisibility thing is a bit of a mystery. Left the house normal, came back like this. Haven't been seen since. I still don't know what good taking me to a doctor will do."
Not that he had a choice. He was going, like it or not.
