Lorelai went outside, dressed in her grey cargo pants, a purple camisole, and a loose hoodie, another light nylon windbreaker covered it. Her boots crunched in the snow as she went off to the side of the school where the noise of the construction wasn't so loud. There she dug her hands into her pockets and waited for Ian as she looked up into the still bright grey sky.
The snow was deep again, going up to her knees when she didn't completely sink to the ground. Making life easier for herself she waved a hand, and with it a wave of snow cleared itself, and so that was where she stood as she waited. She and Ian were to go for a walk, maybe play in the snow, maybe even sled though his sled was still broken, and she hadn't seen Sean anywhere since the night before at dinner. Ah well, it would still be nice, she thought as she looked down when a single snowflake fell down to land on her face.

Wearing his big puffy blue jacket and heavy warm black winter boots, Ian ran down from his room, securing his scarf and pulling his wool hat firmly over his head. When he got outside, he frantically searched for his gloved, finally finding them in his back pocket as he approached Lorelai who was waiting for him patiently on the path.
Ian grinned and trudged through the snow to her until he got to the area that she cleared out. "What's up Pipsqueak, told ya it was quieter out here than inside. Probably cause its way more open out here. Ready for that walk?" Ian leaned down and grabbed her bare hand in his gloved one and tugged her gently along the path. It had been a long couple of days and he looked down at her and smiled. "So what's new babe since we last got a chance to talk? It's been a bit hectic here lately. I had a radical night last night talkin' with the guys. We were talkin' bout chicks and beaches. You know, I think this school should relocate to the beach. Then all of the chicks can be in bikinis all the time," Ian said with a goofy grin on his face as he looked down at his girlfriend.

Lorelai had been looking at the white scenery until she heard the snow crunching, causing her to turn her head to see a tall blue puffball that she just knew was Ian all bundled up. She smirked at the sight of him, grinning back at him as he came to her and asked if she was ready for the walk. "Yeah, let's go," she said, laughing a little as he grabbed her hand and she let him go on leading her down the path, keeping pace. She made life a little easier by sweeping most of the snow away, leaving a couple inches there, for that was the fun of walking in the snow, to leave footprints and hear the crunching.
At being asked what was new, Lorelai thought for a moment as they walked. "Hm, well, Heather and I are friends, and last night we hung out a bit, and she even gave me a little gift. It's a drawing of us, when there was the meeting in the hangar the other night. It was a little random and a bit weird, honestly, but I guess it's okay. It's well drawn though," she explained, knowing she could speak her mind to him. She listened as he talked about hanging out with the guys, and couldn't help rolling her eyes at their typical subjects. "Of course you think that we should all be in bikinis, you're a complete guy," she said as she laughed at Ian's goofy grin. "Though you'd better not focus on every single girl in a bikini," she said with a mock glare and a playful punch to his arm.

Ian looked down at her confused as he trudged through the snow at her, feeling the bright winter sun on his shoulders. It didn't do a damn thing heat wise though. "Blondie drew a picture of us at the Hanger? Uhh... yea thats a bit weird. I don't even know what to think of it but its all good. I know I'm picture perfect," he said with a grin and a wink as he jumped through the snow lightly, still holding her hand. "So you both are cool now? Awesome then we can all chill together and it will all be cool. And now we can invite Sean and try and convince Aideen to chill with us," Ian said with a laugh, wondering how much effort it would actually take to convince the firebender to chill with them.
"And you should be glad I'm a typical guy and want to think of my girl in a bikini. I was thinkin' maybe a pink one, or maybe a yellow one. You'd look hot in those. We all talked abou how all the other chicks here would look in bikinis. Told Sean about Spitfire and gave him somethin' to think about bikini wise," he said with another laugh as he pulled her along the path away from the construction.

For once Lorelai could share the same confusion with Ian. "I know, it is weird, but it was like 'Ok then' but yeah, it is all good and I'm not about to mess anything up. And of course you're picture perfect, why else do you think I go out with you? Nah, I'm just kidding," she laughed as he grinned and winked at her, jumping through the snow. "Yeah, that sounds like a good idea, and good luck on the Aideen part," she said, laughing a little, hiding a grimace as she remembered how lifeless and cold she had been back in the library. She didn't know where she had gone off to when Lorelai had left the boys to read.
"Who said I wasn't glad?" she said with a sly smile on her face. At the color suggestions, she rolled her eyes, "Pink? Uh... maybe.. Yellow? Ha, not on your life," she said, smirking. Bright colors she didn't necessarily like, but she might make an exception for Ian. But then again, she didn't own anything yellow. She laughed as he went on about other girls in bikinis and then shook her head with a smile. "Ah, I bet he'll like that idea, but I wish him luck if he wants to go after her," she said, laughing with him as she let him pull her along the path they were on.

Ian laughed as they walked along the snow covered ground together. The construction noise was softening as they got closer to the woods and away from the front of the mansion. He was enjoying this calm walk with his girl in the snow. Though in his opinion it would still be better if they were on the beach. Maybe he can ask if they can all take a trip there when summer comes or when it gets warmer. "Well babe, I had to give him some image since you know, you're taken and all," Ian added with a wink. "Besides you never know, bet ya that Spitfire got a thing for them old style cowboys like Sean."
They walked along the path together, and Ian was in good spirits. "Like we were sayin' bikinis are probably one of the best inventions ever made. In fact, I think it should be a mandatory uniform during the summer," he said with another laugh. Ian looked out towards the woods and then gave Lorelai a smirk. "Wanna go exploring Pipsqueak? I never had a chance to really explore the woods. Think we'll get in trouble for it? I mean I think it's cool but with everything going on lately I dunno if the teachers would be chill with it," he said as he looked out towards the woods, thinking about the pros and cons of going into the woods.

Lorelai smirked as Ian answered, and she nodded. "That's right, good point," she said with a laugh, and then shruged reasonably. "Yeah, never know, that would be interesting to see," she agreed. She sighed a little as they continued walking, glancing around at the scenery and Ian with a light smile on her face. As he went on about bikinis and their greatness, she rolled her eyes. "Of course, you'd hope and pray for that. Don't get your hopes up though," she said, grinning.
As they continued walking, the woods came into view and Ian smirked at her. She glanced at the edge of them, and tilted her head slightly in interest. "That sounds like a fun idea, but I don't know if we would get in trouble. Maybe, maybe not. I don't think the Brotherhood would lash out again this quickly, would they? Or, maybe we don't go that far in?" she suggested. She looked at the woods too, thinking a bit confidently. If they stayed together, she thought they could handle themselves well enough should something come up, as long as they weren't outnumbered.

"Awesome babe, let's check it out. I been wanting to do some detective work around here for a while. It's like, everything happens in these woods and we don't know about them or no one is telling us whats the big deal about these woods. Its been bothering me like nothing else that we don't got all the answers for everything thats been going on," Ian said as he pulled Lorelai towards the forest. This was his chance to have all his questions answered. There were too many things about the whole Brotherhood attack that were missing. Plus he knew a lot took place in those woods. Maybe now was a good time to do a little exploring/detective work and see what they find. Of course they would probably have to be careful about not going too far away from the school.
"C'mon Pipsqueak, let's see what we can find here. This will definitely give us something to do for the day. We can try and get some answers and hopefully we won't get in trouble for being out here so soon," Ian added as they stepped into the shadowy woods.

Lorelai smiled a bit as Ian went on about doing some detective work and finding out more about what had happened. She had been curious as well, but it seemed her boyfriend's interest was much more apparent than hers. "Yeah, I can see that, so let's find out," she said as she kept up with him when he pulled her toward the forest. She bit her lip lightly as they went in, their surroundings now darker than they just were.
The forest was all the darker by the fresh coating of snow, but some light managed to filter through. As they walked, she pushed stray branches out of her way as they began exploring around. She looked around, though a lot of what she saw was white from the snow, so if anything was hidden this close to the school, they wouldn't see it unless she were to move it. But, since she didn't know what exactly they were looking for, she didn't move any snow, though she still kept her eyes out for anything odd. "It looks like this will be fun, and I hope we do find out stuff as long as we don't get caught," she agreed as she trudged through with Ian.

Ian let go of her hand momentarily as he led them a bit more in the woods, his face screwed up in concentration as they made their way through the forest. "Ok babe, first off how did this whole fight start to begin with? It's like one minute me, you and Blondie are messing around in the snow right over there in the courtyard and then Spitfire comes running out of the woods with blood on her shirt and carrying that chick that looked like that girl Haven but was really that blue chick Mystique. How the hell did Spitfire get there? Something must have happened to her to get her like that," he pointed out as he headed in the direction closer to the courtyard of the woods that Aideen had run out of.
"We don't know what happened before hand. How the hell did Spitfire get involved? And that Tiger dude knew her too but how? I'm tellin' you Lorelai this is too weird. It's been on my mind for awhile and Spitfire I know won't talk, she's too private of a chick. What do you think babe, you were there too," Ian asked the blue haired girl behind him as he tried to pinpoint the exact area by the courtyard that Aideen had run in from. Maybe they can get some clue from there as to how this all started.

Lorelai stopped walking for a second as Ian let go of her hand for a second, and he looked like he was thinking hard. She stepped up to where he stood and crossed her arms over her chest as she pondered his inquiries. "I don't know. She came out of the woods, so she must have been out and about there. Maybe she bumped into that fake Haven there, and maybe something bad happened to them since she had blood on her," she said as she started following him, still thinking.
"The Brotherhood came almost just after she did, didn't they? Is it possible she had been running from them when she found us?" she wondered aloud, keeping up. "And the fake Haven was Mystique, so what if she might've had a run in with them?" she suggested, trying to think of all the possibilities. Sometimes thinking too much has its advantages. "It's all confusing," she murmured, barely seeing through the trees that they were going down one side of the school, near to the courtyard.
"If Aideen was bloody when she came, wouldn't there be a trail of blood too?" she asked, her arms still crossed over her chest as they continued walking.

Ian looked over at Lorelai and gave her a puzzled look. "I dunno babe, I don't think she was the one bleeding... it looked like she was banged up but not enough to leave a blood trail... " he trailed off as the construction became a bit louder, meaning they must be closer to the courtyard and close to where Aideen ran out of the forest. It had to be since he remembered where it was the edge of the courtyard closest to the woods where they played since they didn't want to get in trouble by throwing a snowball at the window or something.
He stopped in the area and looked around carefully, looking for any clue of this being the area where she might have been. "Okay look around for any clues babe. We need some. And that tiger dude, Sabretooth. You remember his hair? It was all burnt off so that means they probably met at some point before. It took balls for her to attack someone like him. Something had to have provoked her to do that, I mean Spitfire got guts, but she ain't stupid enough to randomly pick a battle with someone like that dude unless she had a reason... And that might be how it all started," Ian added looking around the area and the branches, sweeping away the fresh snow for some signs of blood or something that indicated that Aideen had come in from there.

Lorelai thought for a moment, trying to clearly remember the more specific details. "Ohh, that's right. She wasn't the one who was bleeding, it was Mystique. Even still, there could possibly be a trail, which is more than nothing," she said, hearing the sounds of the construction coming back into earshot, louder with each step. She glanced again through the mess of trees, and saw that they were nearer to the courtyard now.
She stopped walking a step away from Ian, nodding as she too started sweeping snow away with her ability, moving around thin layers at a time, dried and frozen bloodstains on the ground. "Yeah, now that you mention that, I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case, I mean you saw how quickly he came after her when he got here," she said, remembering the big creepy tiger man. She kept carefully flicking her hand and the snow about, scanning the ground and the nearby branches.
A light breeze blew by them, and Lorelai saw something slight move on a branch a few yards away. She slowly walked toward it, her head slightly tilted as she neared it. Closer inspection showed that it was a ripped fragment of clothing. She let out a breath and took it off the branch. "Ian, look at this. Wasn't this part of Aideen's top before you gave her a sweater?" she asked, holding the little piece of material in her hand.

Ian's head snapped to Lorelai when she held up the piece of dark green material that matched the jogging suit Aideen had worn that morning. So she did come this way. "Yea! Thats the same color of the jogging outfit Aideen was wearing that day! Good work babe!" he exclaimed as he went over to her and inspected the piece of material she was holding. "You know that Sabretooth guy targeted her like prey almost... I saw that and thats why I tired to help her but then she... WAIT Babe, didn't she run into the woods to get the Sabretooth dude to follow her away from the rest of us? What if this is the material from when she was running into the woods? What the hell happened in these woods?!" Ian exclaimed pretty frustrated at this point as more questions and barely any answers came popping up.
He yanked the hat off his head in frustration while raking his hand through his hair. "This is nuts Babe, this all had to have started somehow and whatever happened f**cked Spitfire somehow I think has to lead back to that Sabretooth dude. He knew her before we saw her and from his hair I remembered smelled like it was freshly burnt. So wherever this whole thing started has to have began with him. He had it in for Aideen, but it had to have started and ended somehow with the two of them," Ian said pacing slightly. This was making him go nuts as most mysteries do. His mom always said that he would get his mind in trouble with all the detective shows he watched on TV. And she was right this time.

Lorelai smiled a bit as Ian came over and looked at what she found, exclaiming at first and then getting angry as he ended up asking more questions instead of gathering answers. She watched as he began pacing a bit while running a hand through his hair in agitation. She didn't think she had seen him like this - all disturbed and not easygoing, but she didn't like it a bit. She grabbed one of his hands as he paced and tried to stop him from keeping on pacing. "Ian, hun, calm down. It's a lot to figure out but we'll do it okay? Please don't tear your hair out or anything," she said in a comforting voice, keeping a firm grip on his hand, squeezing it gently as she drew him into a hug.
"I think it was from before - you gave her one of your sweaters, remember? And it lasted even when she ran off to lead Sabretooth away too, didn't it? And maybe it all started further into the forest, or wherever it leads if you keep following it, but then I don't know where it leads. I haven't gone exploring enough. We'll figure it out," she said again, rubbing his back as she looked up at him. She didn't want him getting too worked up; it wouldn't be good for either of them..
