After having zigzagged along the path of given footsteps that looked deeply imprinted, Lorelai grimaced a little at the gravity of the whole situation. It was a hell of a lot to take in, but at least they’d know what really happened, even if the results of finding out were disturbing and painful to say the least. She kept up and dealt with the dense and sometimes dark forest. When some time had passed, they reached a clearing from where they were and her eyes widened and she had a sharp intake of breath. “Oh…” she said, unable to finish her sentence as well. Looking around at the destruction and remnants of blood both dried and still somehow wet, even after two days, she blinked. “I don’t know,” she answered, her voice low.
Her stomach turned at the sight of it all, a faint rusty smell of the blood reaching her nose. “She came from here, she must have. It’s where the footprints led. Maybe that tiger guy was here too, I mean how else would he have like.. gone straight toward her like he did? But then what would either of them be doing here?” she wondered aloud, her voice quietly inquisitive as she hid another shudder, this time at the sight in front of her and not from the thoughts that she was sure would bug her later on. Whatever had happened there, it had to have been scary and it really trashed the area.

Ian shook his head, still in shock. "I don't know babe, I don't know," he said in the same tone of quiet horror. After looking around for a moment, he stepped carefully into the clearing, ready to have another look around. Within a couple of steps Ian had blood on his boots. Great. But at the moment that was the least of his worries. He looked around the blood splattered ruined war zone wondering what the hell happened here. It seemed to him that Sabretooth was definitely here, since he recognized some of the deep claw marks on some of the trees. One tree in particular caught his eye, one that looked like it had been rammed into with full force by something, or someone, very big and strong. The trunk of the tree was completely out of the ground, the what looked like was once a good number of branches on the tree were broken and ripped off.
Why would they just randomly ram into this tree? Maybe they wanted to get it out of the way or get it down? But if it was Sabretooth here and so was Aideen... maybe it was to get at her, or to get closer to her. Ian's suspicions were confirmed when a small rip of material caught his eye. He walked over to it and picked up the dark green, recognizing it as a piece of one of the sleeves that Aideen's sweatshirt was missing when he first saw her run out of the woods. So she was here. "Babe! Aideen was here! Look its a part of her sleeve! Sabretooth was definitely here. They met here! But it still doesn't make sense, Aideen couldn't have caused all this," he indicated the bloody scene before them. "And survive. Theres too much blood. What the hell happened here?!" Ian said grabbing the green material and making a fist around it. They were so close, but what could it be that made Aideen such a target to Sabretooth?

Looking down, Lorelai looked at the ground and everything on it, the broken branches, the blood, even remnants of who had been there. She saw that with Ian even stepping carefully into and around the clearing blood would get on his boots. Grimacing a bit, she carefully followed, getting blood somehow on her own boots. She saw it and muttered to herself, only to lose her balance and trip over a big enough broken branch, landing on her knees on the ground. “Damnit,” she muttered, using the branch to get up, only to feel that it was somehow still slightly wet, but not with snow. She looked at her hand when she let go only to see that the random dampness she had felt was some more still wet blood, and looking down she saw that a little had gotten on her grey pants where she landed. She muttered in disgust to herself as she shook the fall off, only to see that Ian had found another piece of material.
Turning to him when he called her, she resumed stepping carefully to him, no blood this time, thankfully, and saw the shred. “No, I know she couldn’t have. That’s what I don’t get,” she said, looking around at the still bloody scene. She thought for a moment, because something didn’t make sense. Crossing her arms over her chest, she thought aloud, “At the meeting in the hangar, Cyclops had said both Nightcrawler and Wolverine were missing. But I never saw Wolverine around during the battle when I had the chance to look. Did you? Maybe it meant that he was missing before the attack on the school.” Looking around again, she saw that the destruction was made by big people, considering Sabretooth was one of them, but because Aideen couldn’t really cause something like that. Thinking aloud again, she looked to Ian and asked, “What if it was possible Wolverine was here? I mean how else could he be missing?”

Ian looked back at Lorelai in concern when she stumbled. Go figure that his girl would trip in this situation. "You alright babe?" he asked, still holding the piece of material. Lorelai wasn't a china doll though so he was pretty sure she was alright. He looked at the scrap of green cloth in his hand as he mulled over Lorelai's theory. It made sense, every bit of it... but then that must mean that Aideen was there for everything. What were her and Wolverine doing in the woods in the first place? Did Sabretooth attack Wolverine and Aideen tried to help by burning his hair, which is what made her a prime target? Or was it the other way that Sabretooth targetted Aideen from the beginning. That seemed to make more sense, Aideen was gorgeous and whether a man is a good guy or a sadist, he wouldn't be able to let that go unnoticed. That had to be right. Wolverine would probably sooner throw himself off a cliff than let Sabretooth have Aideen. He mostl likely got into it with Sabretooth and gave her a chace to escape! That explains the blood and why Aideen was so broken up.
"Shit. I think your right babe. It all makes sense, I know he wasn't at the battle, because when you were conscious I wasn't and vice versa. One of us woulda seen him. That has to be it, him and Sabretooth have to be the reason that all this blood is here. Wolverine and Spitfire were tight, she actually liked him and she was the only student he ever spoke to, even paid attention to. And from the way that Sabretooth looked at her..." Ian trailed off shuddering as he remembered the previous scene and the look in Sabretooth's eyes. "Babe, what if that's how it all started? Sabretooth wanted Aideen cause well, shes a bombshell and you gotta admit she don't look like a kid. wolverine would never let him touch her if he had anything to say about it... shit babe what if that's really it? And maybe while Wolverine was taking care of Sabretooth, Spitfire ran and must have found that Mystique chick when she looked like Haven. Aideen liked her, from what I know. Holy crap babe! Thats it! That's why she looked so dead. She knew what happened to Wolverine! She was directly involved! Oh man," he said with a defeated look on his face as he thought of his friend and all that she must have gone through. "Babe, she lost her only friend really. God damn," Ian said quietly.
He reflected for a moment on all the things that the poor girl went through. She was not only directly involved in the disappearance of her friend, but also had that.... encounter with Sabretooth later on. "Damn, does this girl ever get a break? She lost so much in one day," Ian whispered before clenching his fist. "F#@&ing bullshit, thats what this is. Aideen took a big fall she shouldn't have taken and I bet we're the only ones who know. She wouldn't talk about any of this, not to any of the teachers or students. Bet she woulda told Wolverine if he was around. We're probably the only ones who know what she went through, since its obvious the teachers don't give two shits about us," he added getting angry again. With narrowed eyes, Ian looked around at the bloody scene and spotted the beginning of a new trail of blood, splintered trees, and destroyed path. "Looks like we found another clue babe, that trail over there. I'm following it," he said. Screw all the teachers, he was going to find this all out himself with Lorelai and he would follow this through to the end.

Lorelai looked over to Ian after she fell. “Yeah, I’m fine, just a little clumsy moment, even in this situation,” she said, a small smile on her face at her little quirk. However the smile quickly faded when she watched him ponder what she had hypothesized aloud. It made sense enough to her, and now that she thought about it more, it made all the more sense. It explained a lot, and when Ian spoke, he pretty much said what she had gathered, and at the thought of all that had happened and what Aideen lost, she looked down at the bloody ground. She didn’t know what she’d do if she lost her friends and Ian here. If she knew herself well enough, she’d probably withdraw and hide or walk around without a word, but as long as it never came to that, she’d be okay.
“Yeah, I know. She lost a lot,” she mumbled as she continued staring at the ground for another moment until Ian spoke again. She looked up as he whispered, her face grim. “It wouldn’t seem like it, sadly. And I know, she really did. Wouldn’t the teachers know this? Or would Aideen just not spill anything? No, that’s a stupid question. I saw her earlier today – she didn’t look in a state to be talking nor did she look like she wanted to, so there we go, we’re pretty much the only ones who know besides her. God, this is horrible. The teachers…I don’t know.. I thought they’d be more in it, I guess, but I don’t know. You’d figure they’d try to get to the bottom of it,” she agreed with a quietly heaved sigh as she could tell Ian was getting mad again, especially since his eyes narrowed, and moved to lightly place a cool hand on his heated hand.
When he said there was another clue, she followed his gaze to see another blood trail. She held back a sigh; did this end? “I see,” she acknowledged, and looked to see where it led. Another path of destruction, broken trees, spoiled grounds. “Let’s go then,” she said, looking up at him, a grim smile on her face as she worked to brace herself for whatever else they might find ahead. They had seen more than enough to make her want to knock herself unconscious, and with their newly acquired information, all she could see herself doing was just blinking, her mind in a way frozen in its own defense. It would catch up with her later, no matter how she blocked it out.

Ian reached over and grabbed Lorelai's hand securely holding it in his gloved hands. With everything that they saw and learned, he felt more secure to be holding on to her. It made him sick to know that all that stuff happened to Aideen, and what might wait for them at the end of this destroyed trail. There was blood everywhere and the path was completely destroyed. It was like one of those gory war movies come to life. And it wasn't as cool as he thought it would be.
But the thing that caught Ian's eye wasn't the destroyed path, but the two sets of fresh footprints he saw in the snow. They were too fresh and unaffected by battle to have been from two days ago. Ian stopped in his tracks and let go of Lorelai's hands to study the footprints in the snow. "Look at this babe. These two sets of footprints are definitely new. They look out of place with all.. well this," he said waving his hand around the destroyed oath they were on. "This smaller set here looks like some kinda girl boot or something. These bigger ones here gotta belong to a dude, if not I don't wanna meet the chick with feet this big."
Ian stood up to his full height and looked around. "Babe, you know what this means? Someone was here before us. I don't know how fresh they are but they look pretty fresh. At least we're not the only ones doing something about this. I bet that some of the teachers went out here to look for them to. Well of course they would want to know what happened with their friends rather than their students," he said the last part with a disgusted tone. "C'mon babe, I wanna see if they are still here. I bet the end of the path will tell us what happened with Wolverine. He might still be there! He could bring Spitfire back to herself!" He exclaimed and grabbed Lorelai's hand as they trudged across the destroyed path, this time following the two sets of footprints.

Lorelai felt Ian grab her hand and hold it securely, and she looked over to him to make sure he was alright. Looking back to what they were just looking at and what was ahead of them, and now that she really saw how much blood there was – and it was everywhere – she was unable to hold back a shiver. Thinking for a moment, she saw that they really had gone out exploring the forest, though what they found was not expected in the least, and with the sound of Ian she was drawn out of her thoughts, she looked at what was being pointed out to her.
Among the blood and debris, there were footprints that were still imprinted clearly enough in the snow, though the snow was fresh and covered what was there before. This meant that someone else, well, two people, had come down that way before them. She looked closer at the prints as well, seeing a distinct difference in the sizes of the boots that had gone along the path. “Yeah, I see them, and if we’re not the only ones doing something about this, then that’s good,” she answered, hearing the painfully obvious bitterness in Ian’s voice when mentioning the seeming importance of fellow teachers over students.
Hearing Ian’s eager exclamation, Lorelai found that her hand was grabbed again, and kept up with him as she nodded to go further forward to see what they’d find at the end. They watched the ground to keep track of the prints, avoiding broken things on the ground that wanted to trip them up and cause hazards. After a bit of trudging along and watching the footsteps keep heading forward, Lorelai looked up and saw that an end was coming, but in this case, it was the end of the path – meaning if one went too far, they’d be walking off the edge of the path and onto thin air.

After trudging the path for a good long while, Ian and Lorelai came to what looked like the end of it, but the end of the trail just sort of... stopped. The bloody and destroyed trail had been a hard sight to take, and the entire time they had followed those footprints, Ian's anger grew rather than subsided since his mind went into overtime digesting all that his friend had seen. He was purely disgusted that she was forced to take all this on herself. It was enough to drive anyone out of their mind.
Ian let go of Lorelai's hand for the first time since they found the footprints and walked over to the end of the path carefully. As cold as it was, the sun was still shining brightly, enhancing every detail of the blood and rotting flesh around them. He looked down the end of the path and his eyes widened. "Babe, these are the cliffs, that's where the path ends. Theres still blood down there, look," he said pointing to the sides of the cliff that were splattered with dried blood.

When they approached the end of the path, Lorelai followed Ian to the edge, careful where she stepped. Snow glittered under the bright sun, and the dried blood showed up a dull red brown color against it. She let her eyes avoid anything else she might see and looked ahead over the edge of the cliff. Nodding when Ian spoke, she looked to where he pointed and saw more blood and then looked downward. It was harder to see, but it still looked like a lot had happened, even down there.
The ground, from what she saw, and the rocky walls around it were covered in blood as well, and then she took a step back. “Oh god, why do I get the feeling that either Wolverine or that tiger guy was thrown or fell down there?” she asked, her hands curled up as did her arms around herself. The fall had looked pretty damn steep, and the thought of being thrown down into it, or even falling into it made her stomach turn. Wolverine and Sabretooth could probably handle the fall, since they were both big and probably could both take more than a hit, but the thought of it all still bothered her. “A-are we going to go down there somehow?” she stuttered out, wondering how they would, if they could, and what else they might find were they to get down there.

Ian looked down at the cliff, which did indeed look extremely steep. Way to steep to climb since it snowed recently and there was still blood everywhere. He thought hard for a second, weighing in his options. Though he would climb down himself, there was no way in hell he would leave Lorelai or allow her to climb down herself.
"I don't know babe, we came too far to stop now. But there is no way I'm lettin' you climb down there, you could get hurt... but we're so close babe, we just have to figure out a way to get down," Ian said in deep thought. he walked along the edge, squinting to see for any path down. There wasn't any that didn't come with a risk.
"Babe, is there anyway you can use you ice powers to get us down there? Or is it too risky for you?" he asked Lorelai, wondering exactly how much control she had of her powers.

After the whole event in the kitchen, Aleksey flew off on his own to think about what had just happened. He kept replaying everything in his head over and over again. Maybe I really am a monster he thought to himself. NO, I refuse to believe it he kept thinking, trying to reassure himself of who he really was.
He lost track of time flying over the mansion and the forest. He came out of a daze while passing the forest and looked down. He noticed Ian and Lorelai standing at the edge of a cliff looking down. There were broken branches and trees around them. He looked even closer and thought...YES it was blood!. Without any further hesitation he swooped down flying at the edge of the cliff, hoping they were alright and that it wasn't their blood there.
"Are you two alright?" he said as soon as he got there, looking around at the blood, then at them, they were dirty but the blood didn't seem to be from them. It looked as if the blood had been there for a small while. "What's going on here, why is there so much blood?" he asked them as he landed and took a closer look at all the markings. "What are you two doing in a place like this?" he kept asking questions, obviously they were alone but something told Guardian it wasn't because they wanted some quiet time with each other.

Lorelai looked down over the edge again, seeing its steepness and quietly gulping. She looked to Ian as he answered her, and half smiled grimly when he spoke. She kept away from the edge just to keep herself calm, and thought for a moment at his question. She wasn’t sure if she could, well, she’d sure as hell try to get them down there using her powers, but she couldn’t figure out how yet. “I don’t know, I don’t know how to go about it at the moment. I’ll try it, just give me a minute to think,” she answered, her fingers pressing on her temple as she thought of how she could work it so they could get down there.
“Oh, I think I have an idea,” she said, turning to the snow in front of her and Ian. She was beginning to focus and harden the snow in front of them into thick, solid ice, a platform where both of them could stand and she’d focus to carry them down, but then the sound of wind whooshing around distracted her. Looking up, she saw Guardian come down, looking worried. “Yeah, we’re……alright,” she answered, glancing at Ian, who she knew wasn’t the least bit alright, but she didn’t want Guardian worried too much. “Um, we’ve been looking for answers about what happened with the part of the attack no one knows about,” she continued.
Thinking again, she looked up at him and his wings. “Guardian, would it be possible if you could take me and Ian down there? I was going to try to get us down there, but I’m not completely sure of myself, so, do you think you could? It’s really important,” she asked, politely knowing things like this couldn’t be demanded. If they could get down there with his help, it would move things along faster and they’d find out more.

Ian looked up sharply as Guardian flew down to them. He was half expecting it to be a teacher, which wouldn't have improved his mood in the least bit. His face remained as serious as it had been since they found the crater, which he will even admit that it was unusual. "Me and Pipsqueak here went exploring to find out the whole story of what happened with the battle. It started in this bloody clearing we found about a mile up there," he said pointing to the trail they've been following.
Ian didn't say anything more since he was still too heated about everything he saw to talk about it rationally yet. He wasn't used to being so heated and disgusted by something, so he chose to keep his mouth shut for the time being, willing to let Lorelai explain the situation if Guardian wanted to know the whole story. "Yea bro, you think you can get us down there? Cause that's where the trail continues and I wanna finish this. It's about time someone made a god damn effort to find out this whole story," Ian said with the same determined voice.
For some reason, he felt he owed it to himself and to Spitfire to find out everything that had happened. Ian was utterly disgusted by the fact that the teachers let all that happen to her and he couldn't get over it easily. He won't sell out on her even if the teachers did. He was determined to get the whole entire story.

Guardian wasn't sure of himself lately, could he handle something so simple without hurting anyone? It seemed safe enough. He walked to the ledge, looked down, didn't seem so high, to Guardian that is. "Alright, no problem at all" said Guardian. He walked up to Ian and grabbed him by the hand and then took Lorelai's hand. Guardian closed his eyes, exhaled, opened them up and pushed up off of the ground rising up slowly. He flew glided forward and after he reached he said "Hold on tight you two" then spread his wings larger and began to glide downward. He noticed the blood on the edge of the cliff on his way down.
"Can you guys fill me in on what you have found so far? I was knocked out by Pyro in the fight, thankfully Nightcrawler was able to get me out of danger. I was such a nuisance in that fight, I couldn't help anyone and now...just now I nearly...nearly KILLED someone" explained Guardian, as tears started flowing down his face and the constant thought of taking another's life, someone he is supposed to be team mates with. "She is alright though, because Shadowcat was able to help me get my senses back" he added nearly at the ground. "I keep thinking I don't belong here, like I should have just stayed hidden in the mountains for the rest of my life so I wouldn't be the cause of anyone getting hurt" he cried.
They reached the ground and he gently placed them both down. He looked up at the sky I don't feel like I belong here anymore he thought to himself as he let go of their hands.

Lorelai smiled a little as Guardian said they’d give them a ride down the edge of the cliff. It’d be a lot easier now, to figure out more of what happened. She followed his instructions and held tighter onto the hand of hers that he had taken, even hanging onto his hand with both of hers as he flew them downward. She winced a little as he asked what was going on and her face went grim at what he said, about the battle and apparently what had happened just now even though she had no idea about what happened regarding the latter.
“Um,” she started as she was placed on the ground, “Well, Ian and I are looking for the reasons why the fight at the front of the school had started. We found more, but it’s a really long story. Pretty much, the fight started here with Wolverine and the big tiger guy that had come to the school to cause trouble, only he was there for a short time because he was after Ember, who he had found here. We still don’t know why they were all here in the first place, but yeah. And, he almost had her too,” she explained haltingly, gulping at the evidence that gave away what had almost happened back where there was the giant crater.
“But, um,” she started again, “Yeah…we’re following a trail of blood,” she finished, unsure of what more to say, but not really wanting to say anymore. Ian was mad enough as it is, and relaying the story only made her stomach turn more, and the new bloody surroundings made her feel a bit cramped, making her apparent uneasiness more apparent. “What happened earlier?” she asked, changing the subject, just to ease her mind as well as Ian’s, temporarily.
